I am Thinking About The Implications regarding Ted’s love interests
With Jenny, they were best friends, there was genuine affection and mutual feelings for each other but neither of them acted on it because they both assumed they didn’t have a chance, and then it was too late
With Charlotte, Ted was in love with her but she didn’t reciprocate, he was just one of the men she was having an affair with behind her husband’s back. He never lets himself be too vulnerable and open with her about his feelings, resorting to either yelling at her or just deflecting whenever she starts to talk about Sam. He’ll just take whatever he can get with her
With Lucy, he can actually express his feelings and be affectionate, but only because he’s playing the role of Konk. He has something to hide behind instead of being truly vulnerable. Even when he’s only talking to Hidgens, at least later in the episode, he stays in character, he falls into Konk’s speech patterns because he’d rather be him, in part because Lucy likes Konk. He even asks that she let him die as Konk just so he can feel loved by her
And then, before he’s approached by Sheila, we learn he does actually want to someday start a family, get married and have kids
After the misunderstanding with Jenny, Ted no longer feels he can be open and vulnerable about his feelings, puts up this front of only being interested in sex when he really does want a relationship beyond that, and only feels safe expressing himself truthfully to others when he’s someone else
Ted please for the love of god learn how to express your feelings in a healthy way I am begging you

By implying that children are too stupid and rude to learn about the world and learn how the world works and how to interact with others, you are casting responsibility away from the people who are responsible for that child's upbringing and placing the blame on the children (who don't have the autonomy given to them to be allowed to decide what they want) who can't help what they do and do not learn, often.
If the children aren't okay, then investigate why before turning to thought-terminating clichés of, "Well, the kids are just stupid and dumb and aren't even worth the effort because they're lazy!"

The thing that struck me immediately, like the first time I saw the scene, was the Director saying “...and now, we have a monster in our kingdom.”
framed like that, holding the sword she stole so she could frame Ballister.
My literal first thought was “yeah, I’m looking at one right fucking now”. Two seconds later she’s using that sword to get rid of a threat to her order, so like yeah.
It’s not subtle cinema language at all, it’s basically shouting it at me, but I liked it anyway. She’s a threat and the movie is no longer remotely hiding it.

So after a good rant with my friends about Dreamtale, I decided to redesign the boys in a way that I think is much better and makes more sense
#my art#undertale#curseart#also rewrote them#theyre very badly designed and written#so I decided why not#I mean it was pretty fun the concepts are really interesting and i feel like it wouldve been so good if there was more thought put into it#dreamtale#dream sans#nightmare sans#dream sans redesign#nightmare sans redesign#as for their personalities#dream is an embodiment of positivity therefore i went the route with him where it shows that sometimes pure positivity can be toxic and#even ignorant#while with ngihtmares i went a route where hes severely depressed and toxic but not intentionally#to show how sometimes bad situations can negatively affect relationships people around you and yourself#along with how sometimes theyre good like instinctively knowing when to get out of a situation or that someone is bad#that isnt to say dream doesnt have good qualities#hes absolutely capable of helping and lifting people up#hes first one to jump to help but will never hurt anyone even if theyre a bad person#he also believes the best in people which can either range from helping push people beyond what they believe is their limit and isnt#helping drastically improve peoples lives and notice the good in front of them#but sometimes being too naive to actually help or believe someone needs help#sometimes trusting people too much or even believing that family or people cant do wrong especially because of the halo effect#nightmare can be positive in a sense that he knows when something is wrong and isnt afraid to show it#hes blunt and ready to set boundaries even if they leave an extremely sour and guilt filled taste in his mouth#but hes also easy to guilt trip and bring down#make him have a breakdown even

#purples art!#my art!#mine!#me!#John juniper#ieytd2#you know that one specific flavour of nightmares characters who are in the show business might have in media#specifically the ones where they’re sitting in front of a live audience experiencing awful things as the audience claps and oohs and aahs#and laughs at them? eternal faceless observers? uncaring callous judgemental?#I want to inflict it upon him#he’ll be sitting in a room with the brightly lit stage and the friendly talk show host#audience hidden by the bright lights#and he’ll detail - like in any other good story where he draws from personal experience - the events of his life until now#the mistakes and horrible awful things and he does it all with a light smile and joking tone#like always. like it’s just a good story for his fans. heavily edited to not be ‘too much’#and as he describes the horrible traumatic things the audience laughs and cheers#his paranoia laid bare for the world to see even as he loses the self assurance and charisma#in the dream they don’t stop#they won’t stop looking at him#laughing. clapping. joking#not even when he breaks down in tears#hmm#maybe I’ll write it
