His actions proved he had changed; initially, he gave up trying to impress the Vees and learned to trust people instead of assuming the worst and attacking them as he did early on in the show, then with more time he opened up to Cherri and was honest about his feelings for her instead of running away, and then he sacrificed himself, making the choice for the sake of others rather than himself
I think the particular sins he’d committed to send him to Hell in the first place were pride, wrath and maybe envy, since those seem to be defining character traits for him. His actions proved he was “cleansed of his sins”
My personal theory though is that he had to die again to actually be sent to Heaven. Cleansing his sins alone could only open up the possibility of going to Heaven, but a soul only enters Heaven or Hell after death. The one thing I still haven’t figured out is if the manner of death has anything to do with it, since most deaths in Hell just result in regeneration and angelic steel results in permanent death of the soul, but Pentious wasn’t killed by either of those, he was killed by Adam’s heavenly magic
TLDR: his actions proved he was cleansed of his sins to whatever cosmic forces decide whether a soul goes to Heaven or Hell and his death “released” his soul so it could enter Heaven
A thing that makes no sense to me is for what reason was Pentious able to go to heaven and how he physically reached heaven if he was in hell!! Is it just because he sacrificed his life for another sinner's?
For what I've learnt it was never shown any redeeming process/lessons, he and the other just spent time together at the hotel or hanging around the city of hell mostly messing things up!
I'm glad he's redeemed, but how he became a good person is unknown
