Chapter Eighteen

The finishing touches of your makeup are applied, and it's almost time for the interview. Nerves gnaw at your stomach, but you attempt to ignore them. Jeff's words of encouragement run through your mind to ease the worries.

This interview is a great opportunity to allow the fans of the show an insight into who you are and why they should be excited to further meet your character.

"She's ready for you," you're told by the interviewer's assistant.

You nod your head and follow her to the room. Cameras and lights are set up facing two cushioned chairs. In between the chairs, which are partly facing each other, is a table with two water bottles. The interviewer, Catherine, takes a seat and gestures for you to do the same. You sit down in the cushioned maroon seat adjacent from her. The two of you shake hands and introduce yourselves, even though you know who each other are.

"Thank you for coming in today."

"Thank you for having me," you say with a friendly smile.

"Okay so let's just get straight into it. First we'll do some basic questions to get to know you, and then we'll get a little bit deeper into the interview."

You nod your head, "Sounds good."

You cross your left leg over the right, smoothing down your pants and turn to Catherine with a smile.

"So where are you from?" She asks.

"I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was born there and lived there until college."

"Okay cool. Was it a big change moving from the east to west coast?"

"It was, yes. I went to NYU for college so it wasn't that big of a change from my hometown to university, but going from New York to LA was a huge change in scenery and just lifestyle in general. I had to get used to sunny hot weather even in early winter." You chuckle a bit.

"I visited New York and it snowed in April, so I understand the weather change thing," Catherine chuckles too. "So this role in Criminal Minds is your biggest one yet, correct?"

"Yep. I was in a short film while doing university, and then I did a show in Brooklyn for a bit. So this is my first big project and my first big thing in Hollywood.”

"Wow it must be so exciting. What was running through your mind the day you found out you got the part? Like what were you doing that day?"

"Ooh," you think for a moment. "I was back home in Philly with my family, and I think we were just about to go out to eat. When the call ended, I just screamed and like started sobbing, and I'm pretty sure my little sister thought I was dying," you laugh. "I was just filled with a bundle of emotions. It was so surreal... still is."

"So your character Delilah was only supposed to be on for a few episodes, right?” Catherine asks.

You nod your head.

"Were you like super shocked when you were brought back?"

"Yes, I was. I almost started bawling again. It was so crazy."

"I'm sure it was even crazier when you got to come back for the next season, huh?"

"Definitely. I'm still pinching myself every day,” you smile softly.

“Tell us a little about your character.”

“Delilah, as you know from last season, has had some struggles. She’s persevering the best she can. She’s very strong willed but can be vulnerable at times, and I think the fans will enjoy seeing a survivor’s story and how meeting the BAU changed her life. I also think it’s interesting to have a character not a part of the team.”

She nods, listening intently. “Sounds very interesting.” Catherine chuckles. "So a little birdy told me that Delilah is a possible love interest for Dr Reid, can you confirm this?"

"You'll just have to watch and see," you shrug with a smile.

She gives you a little smirk. “So there's been a few photos on the internet of you and the cast, have you gotten close to them?"

"Yeah they've welcomed me as one them. They're all amazing,” you tell her gratefully.

"Is there a certain cast mate that's been extra special to you?"

You know what she's getting at. "Well Aisha actually has been like a big sister to me on set, and we've gotten pretty close."

"You know I couldn't not ask this, there's a rumor going around saying you and Matthew Gray Gubler might have a bit of a romantic relationship. Is this true?"

"Nope,” you shake your head. “Sorry to disappoint, but Matthew and I are just friends. There's nothing there at all.”

"You've heard it here guys, Y/n and Matthew are not a thing."

You smile awkwardly.

"So there's no one in your life in that way?"

"I don't really have time for relationships. I'm just focused on my career and getting more successful,” you explain.

"I mean as you should."

You chuckle nervously.

"Well thank you for joining us today,” she says with a smile.

"Of course. This was a new experience for me,” you say honestly.

"You did great,” she tells you.

"Thank you."

Catherine informs you that this interview will be posted on YouTube sometime next week.

That was something. You feel like you were super awkward, but hopefully it wasn't that noticeable. You're glad she wasn't super pushy with personal questions like many interviewers are.

You need to go home and pack the rest of your things for the plane trip home. Your flight leaves in four hours.

Once you get home, you only have three hours until your flight is supposed to leave. Stupid traffic. You pack your carry on quickly and eat a snack. You change into joggers and an FBI hoodie AJ got you. You triple check to make sure everything is ready, and then you head out of your apartment. Jess has agreed to look after your place a few times while you're gone.

You check in at the airport and you're on the plane just thirty minutes after the plane was scheduled to leave. They're not running behind for once.

You text your mom to tell her you're on the plane. After it sends you see you have a text from Matthew. "Have fun in Philly." You smile, not sure why he’s being nice.

"Have fun is Vegas," you text back.

"Oh I will,” he sends with a winky face.

You know he's kidding, he's not the gambling or strip club type. You chuckle, turn your phone on airplane mode, plug in your head phones, and lean back. You have the isle seat, and you're next to a teenage girl and her mother.

After a bit, the plane takes off and the city shrinks under you.

"Y/n!”

"Hey, kid," you say as your little sister wraps her arms around you. "I've missed you!"

"Me too," Lola says with a smile. She's grown up in the short time you've been gone. Lola's going to be 18 soon, and it's so surreal for you.

You were 16 when she was born and 17 when your parents adopted her. Her birth mother is your aunt who wasn't fit to take care of her, and your mom and dad decided to take her in as one of their own.

Lola's bio mom died from an overdose when you when Lola was just a toddler, it was devastating for your mother. It's crazy to think you haven't really known your sister her entire life, since she was 7 months old when you met. Though, you immediately fell in love with that little baby. Her big brown eyes, her brown skin, her laugh. She was perfect.

She still is perfect. Your baby sister, who's no longer a baby, is gorgeous and brilliant. Lucky for your father, she'll most likely be the one in the family who goes into a profession like doctor, lawyer, or something of that sort.

Lola helps you get your things into her car then pulls out of the airport parking lot. On the way home, she bombards you with questions.

"So you're not together?" Her eyebrow raises.

"Nope."

"That's disappointing," she sighs, taking a left turn after the light turns green.

"Thanks?"

Lola laughs. "You gotta admit he's hot."

"Ew,” you side eye her.

"Ew?"

"He's way too old for you to say he's hot,” you tell her.

"Oh come on, I'm almost 18," she winks.

You roll your eyes with a slight chuckle.

Your house gets bigger in view as the car drives down the street. Lola pulls into your drive way, and as you both get to the door you whisper, "I've slept with him"

"You what?” Her eyes grow huge and her words are loud.

"Shh," you say, opening the door to greet your parents. "Not a word."

"Y/n!" Your mom hugs you tightly, followed by your dad ruffling your hair and wrapping his arms around you. "It's so good to have you home."

"I'm glad to be back. LA's a little too busy and sunny sometimes."

"Well, you could've stayed here," your dad mumbles.

"Not now, Kenny," your mom elbows him in the side.

You give her an slight smile, well more like you pressed your lips together awkwardly.

"If Lola has turned my room into some arcade, I'll be an only child again," you say, heading upstairs to your childhood bedroom.

"I tried, Mom said no." Lola tells you, following you upstairs with your carry-on.

You put your bag on the bed. The posters still hang on your wall; picture frames and books scattered along the bookshelf. The baby pink walls now seem so faded, but the queen sized bed feels so much bigger than your full back in Los Angeles. The dark blue duvet hangs almost to the floor from the mattress.

"If you don't date him, I will. And I will be asking follow up questions,” Lola says and heads back downstairs.

You roll your eyes and look around your old room. Pictures of high school graduation with you and your old friends. Seems like you haven't seen them in ages, but it's only been about 10 since you’ve seen most of them.

You unpack your bag, putting away your clothes in your old dresser, which still has a few things you never got rid of inside of it. You set your laptop on your desk and put away everything else you brought back home.

It's getting dark already and your parents want to celebrate your homecoming by going out to eat. You change out of your airplane clothes and tie your hair back into two dutch braids.

"So you can't tell me anything about this season?"

"I'm sworn to secrecy," you say with a shoulder shrug and a smug grin.

"Ugh no fair. I'm the sister to a new tv star and I don't get any perks,” Lola groans.

"Not a star, but thank you for the flattery."

She rolls her eyes. "Wanna watch a movie?"

"Yeah, but we have to be quiet, Mom and Dad will get cranky."

"They don't care how late I stay up anymore."

"What? I got grounded for staying up until 4am one night reading! I was 17.”

She chuckles. "I'm the youngest, they've given up their rules. Well, most of them."

"Talk about not fair."

"Wanna watch 68 Kill?” Lola smirks.

"Oh my god, no!”

"Why? Jealous to see Matthew with someone else?"

"Shut up.”

“Hmm,” she noises.

"You're already getting on my nerves and I've been here 9 hours."

"It's my job."

You and Lola finally pick a movie to watch. Both of you end up falling asleep halfway through it.

You're not sure how the rest of your time home will go, but hopefully your dad will realize your job isn't a waste of time, or at least not comment on it. And hopefully it'll be fun. On the 26, you and your family are driving to Camden to visit some non-immediate family members.

You wake up sometime around 6am, Lola asleep with her head on your shoulder. The sky outside is still dark. You find your phone on the floor and check the time. You see you have a message from "Gubler". You haven’t changed his name in your phone and don’t plan to until he notices.

"You should come hit up a casino, maybe we could hang out?"

"In your dreams, buddy," you text back with a slight smile and plop your head back down on the pillow.

Lol, interesting phrasing. Anon you sound exactly like a conspiracy theorist/cult member.

I get your frustration Sky. Jimin is my bias. I have also taken my distance with Jikook multiple times over the years. I advise anyone who’s feeling overwhelmed with the ship to do so. I’m also not particularly satisfied with what’s been going on during Chapter 2 and more specifically with what happened during Jungkook’s solo which was clearly not in alignment with BTS values in my opinion. I have a tendency to be protective of Jimin, like many of us, but Jungkook is certainly not this villain some people make of him. We are just fans, we should know our place and respect Jimin’s close relationships. It’s getting ridiculous really how Jkks and now even Pjms are pitting against each other, constantly fighting in some sort of piss contest. Do you all hear yourself? Take a step back. Some of you all should really get some air, pick up a new hobby, find some greater meaning to your lives than stupid fights on social media all day long. We can’t even have adults talks anymore on this app, it always end up with anons coming with bs after bs. Tiring.

Yes, you are completely right.

When it comes to jikook, Jimin, and Jungkook, it is necessary to take a step back often.

There are too many emotions involved with them and we naturally get too attached.

I thought that solo projects were going to give us some time to have peace and catch up but it's gotten crazier and people have lost the plot of everything...of jikook, of taking a stand for Jimin, of what it means to support an artist.

Maybe one day when it's all over people will think "Hmm. I should have enjoyed those times more instead of going crazy online all the time."

Enjoy these times because one day they will be gone. Just like the good times in the past are gone and we used to have it so easy back then!

I hope people take your advice, anon.

Hi! I'm wondering a couple things about The Boys if you care to talk about it briefly? No pressure of course! I've heard some things about it that intrigue me a lot, but I also watched the trailer and mostly all I took away from it was that it's quite gory which doesn't particularly interest me. So I'm wondering, from someone who genuinely enjoys it, what are a couple things you enjoy about it? Also as a general vibe, are there any characters you genuinely root for or is this more of a "love to watch them do bad things" situation? Whether you answer this or not, I hope the new season exceeds your expectations!

I'm gonna level with you, the gore is A LOT. More than I'm comfortable with, and it gets worse every season. And the camera lingers on it. It's bad. And even though it's all CG, there's some gruesome animal death that really bothers me every season too.

So there's definitely gotta be some substance to the show for me to put up with all of that!

I decided to watch The Boys because of Karl Urban. I've been a fan of his for a long time. So much so, that I imagine my Dragon Age OC Gabriel Hawke looks like him. And I perk up any time I see him in a new project. He's such a GOOD actor. I luv him. And he does NOT disappoint in this show! Gods, he's so good. Butcher is a perfect anti hero. You love him, you root for him, but also he's such a fucking bastard omg.

Along the way I fell in love with all the characters.

Hughie is adorable. He's constantly in over his head, and it's no wonder everyone in Butcher's crew looks at him like a baby who needs coddling.

MM is a big ol' softie who just wants to go home and play house with his family that he adores, but can't say no to One More Adventure.

Frenchie… gods Frenchie is my fave. He's queer, poly, full of love, ready to build bombs, and I want to be just like him when I grow up.

Kimiko is soft and sweet, but ready to throw down and rip off heads. In the comics she was a nameless feral woman, but Kripke gave her a name and a backstory and someone to hug her, which makes me all mushy inside 🥰

Starlight just wants to be the hero she's advertised as, but has to navigate the Real World while still keeping her soul. She survives things that someone with superpowers shouldn't ever have to deal with, and that's because she's good and strong in her heart, and that has nothing to do with her powers.

Oh, and Maeve. She's an older woman surrounded by people who keep pushing her down, and she just. needs. a. hug. She's a character that grew on me slowly, but is now one of my favorites.

And the "Heroes" are just… disgusting people. They've bought into their own myths, and you can see how power has corrupted them. But the show gives you their backgrounds, and their stories are sympathetic. Poor families to support, insecurities that super powers don't cure, tragic pasts. It's easy to feel sorry for them, but always always always clear that they made bad choices and continue to do so. The story humanizes them, and shows that bad people believe they're good people, but here's how they fell off the path and became bad people. Something that I think is important to understand when thinking about "the other side", because everyone thinks they're the hero in their own story, and learning to recognize when a person goes too far is important. And there's a thread of anti-capitalism throughout all of that. Capitalism is literally the thing that made them this way. Fuck. Capitalism.

Homelander is definitely the character I love to watch do bad things. God he's so fucking terrible. That is a man who needed more hugs as a child, literally, and you almost want to hug him now. But he's too far gone. There's no saving him. And he just keeps getting crazier and crazier, and it's really fascinating to watch.

And honestly, Butcher too. He's on the "right side", but he's toeing the edge of the plank, and I'm just waiting for him to dive straight into the deep end of madness.

A few other things I really like: While there are less female characters than I'd like, every single one is given depth. They're well written, well acted, and are not overshadowed by the male characters.

Not gonna lie, I'm always going to give extra points to shows that have full frontal male nudity.

Also I am not immune to surprise cameos. They delight me every time :D

I already talked about this in a reblog, but I'll go ahead and make a separate post.

I'm not a season 1 fan, but it's iconic in a way that no other season is. Rick and Morty was THE show when it came out. Everyone was watching it, even people who don't normally watch this genre. The series spawned countless memes, like Mr. Meeseeks and "Hungry for apples?" When you say "wubba lubba dub dub," people who haven't watched a single episode still get the reference.

Seasons 2 and 3 were still huge, but you can't replicate the cultural milestone that was season 1. It's like the first Avengers movie. The MCU's had bigger movies and crazier team-ups since then, but you can't beat the original team-up that made cinematic history.

Rick and Morty's success was also insane for Adult Swim, which mostly airs underground shows that the general public hasn't heard of. Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the only original show that even comes close. Most people have heard of it and maybe watched a few episodes, but it's still an indie show like Squidbillies. Rick and Morty was the center of the zeitgeist.

Partially, the show's simplicity made it blow up. It wasn't simple in a condescending way--it was just straightforward enough that you could mostly watch the episodes out of order and know what was going on. The jokes landed, the plots were well paced and the concept was easy to understand. Drunk bastard grandpa takes his grandson on science-y adventures. Pretty straightforward.

The show infamously targeted a certain audience that went "Finally, a show written for people like me!" While there was clearly more going on with Rick than he let on, the show didn't dive into that too deeply, making it easy for that audience to project themselves on him. Rick was a gravely voiced tech bro who preached about atheism, nihilism and how love is just a chemical reaction--and boy, did the Internet love it.

It's hard to believe now, but Rick and Morty memes were EVERYWHERE. I remember an AV Club commenter who made a Mr. Meeseeks novelty account that just replied "I'm Mr. Meeseeks, look at me!" to people's posts. The show still spawns memes, like "You son of a bitch, I'm in," but that could've come from any show. Mr. Meeseeks could only come from Rick and Morty.

While I prefer the later seasons, they're just not that meme-able. You can't exactly make a meme out of Rick trying to get Bird Person to elope with him or living out his anime fantasies.

People also gushed about the "scientific" (not really) aspects of the show, like how the season 2 premiere--OK, different season, but it was close enough to season 1--showed the different timelines with a split-screen effect. Again, Rick and Morty is still a great show, but you don't see random Internet commenters going "Oh man, I loved watching Rick go on a date with that dragon!"

Season 1 is so famous that the general public basically thinks it ended there, which makes it hard to get people to watch the show because they think it's still a bro-fest. Fanmade merchandise features all the old memes: "Hungry for apples?" "My man!" "Wubba lubba dub dub!" I still hear people say that last one even though Rick hasn't said it non-ironically since season 1.

Ultimately, season 1 is iconic in a way that no other season will ever replicate. Maybe it's because of the memes, the creative concept or the fact that Rick gave sarcastic tech bros a voice--but it's also a story of classic simplicity.

after going through my rym here's ones i have stuff to say about

- black dresses; I've listened to their last few projects and they've all been good but I don't know anything they've done before those so i ought to go through the rest

- metric; i saw them live last august and they were way better than i expected. i know all their hits and i like one of their albums but I've yet to explore anything beyond it

- paramore; i liked their last two albums and though i know their rest is more pop punky i still think it's worth trying

- the police; HUGE fan of Zenyatta mondatta. don't know much else.

- boris; I love Pink but I know they have a lot of heavier and even crazier stuff so I gotta check that out

- MF DOOM; I've only heard madvillainy and mm food but i know I need more DOOM in my life

Things That Inspire Me (2): Music

[No spoilers/warnings whatsoever...as long as you don't look up the songs' context

Also there may be more links this time]

I would say music is the biggest, oldest source of inspiration to me.

Before anime, games or even cartoons, music is probably my very first interest.

For one, especially in my childhood, I tend to "associate" songs with life events (often overseas vacations), or certain periods in my life. Usually, I will be listening to that song at that moment quite frequently (i.e. I like that song very much at that time).

For example, the first time I went to Hokkaido, I was listening to (this version of) Wind Scene from Chronos Trigger. And now, whenever I listen to this song, I automatically remember that summer trip.

But the second time I went there, I was listening to a different (set of) song, so I associated another song with the memory of the second trip. This is one of them.

And then, that same summer, a friend of mine would leave to study overseas, and this remix of Tifa's Theme always reminds me of our last days together.

(As well as being one of my absolute favourites of all time)

So, uh, music has always been quite an important part in my life, frankly. I always don't know how to answer when people ask me "What are your hobbies?", but one thing I always reply is "listening to music".

But then, if you ask me "What genre of music? Who's your favourite artist?", I don't know how to answer that.

I must confess: I know almost nothing about popular music. Not in any languages or countries (not even my own). I know and like a few pop songs, but they are really just a handful. knowledge via jojo doesn't count

If I have to answer, I would say "anime/game music" in general. Most songs in this passage will probably fall into that category. I used to be a Vocaloid fan as well, so I guess Vocaloid music may also be one of the genres I like.

Besides being with me in everyday life (I do almost everything with music), music has inspired me a lot in my works. Of course I can't possibly "write music" (unlike describing anime scenes), but they have provided the atmosphere behind the scenes, even if they aren't "song fics". If I have to assign a "theme song" to every one of my work, I think I can do it.

I try to categorise the examples in terms of the different "feels" they give me, and the different atmospheres they correlate to.

I started the last passage with "anger/craziness", so I guess I will start this one with the same theme. And yes, all Higurashi soundtrack.

Higurashi has one of the coolest soundtracks in anime I watch, next to JoJo's (which is kinda cheating with how many songs JoJo has). Its "mysterious" songs are the best I have known, even outside of anime. They make those crazy scenes even crazier; and stand-alone, they provide a wonderful atmosphere when you are in for something crazy.

I have selected these three as my absolute favourite among the many songs of Higurashi (otherwise I would post the entire soundtrack). The main theme is pure mysterious, Kai is like searching for the truth, and Hayashi is arriving at a revelation. (TL;DR they are just plain cool)

I have discovered Higurashi not too long ago, but its soundtrack is now my go-to music when I am reading/writing/watching something dark (and is basically the theme song that plays whenever my Donald goes violent and crazy).

(Speaking of something dark involving Donald, those three songs above have been accompanying me when I am reading an awesome, ongoing long project by @cursegirlrabbit sorry for the tag: "Furious Revenge"!

It is primarily a DT17 fan fic about Donald "going missing", but with references, crossovers and side stories from basically anything Duckverse! It has been with me ever since I luckily stumbled upon it this January, and has impressed me all the way! If you have the time, I really recommend it!)

Next are sad themes, and I have chosen two with similar names as well.

Never Be Mine (from Battle Tendency) is more "explicit" in its sadness, painting a crushing feeling of sorrow. I think it is the best "sad" theme in JoJo, and it plays in two of my favourite sad death scenes too.

Never Coming Back (from Violet Evergarden) is more subtle, like a faint wisp of melancholy. While the previous song sounds like your loved one is dead in front of you, this one is more like you don't know if they are dead or alive, but they are gone regardlessly, and you will not be seeing them perhaps forever.

(Useless side note: Never Coming Back is the theme song for Ari the Aracuan Bird in my stories, whose first and best friend Clinton Coot will never be coming back ever again.)

The next section is...miscellaneous emotional? I am not sure how to categorise this. Basically music that is a mix of sadness/hope/love/determination (i.e. Mixed feelings that I can't put my finger on with my poor vocabulary). There are a lot in this category, but I have chosen two songs I have got to know more recently.

Main Theme - Hope (from Higurashi Sotsu) (please excuse the crazy rena thumbnail, the other video I can find is an AMV of literally the ending scene): This actually echoes my previous passage's section about bittersweetness in Higurashi, and I think this song symbolises it very well. It is a remix of the scary main theme of the Higurashi series, but it gives off a very different feeling. Like after a gruesome, bloody conflict, there is a happy ending. Not a perfect ending, but a resolution nonetheless. Not everyone (or anyone) could be satisfied, but we have tried our best, and we are finally at peace.

(This is the song I imagine to be playing, when, at the end of my DT story, Scrooge finally sympathises with Donald, atones, and reaches an understanding.)

Isabella's Lullaby (from The Promised Neverland): This is the single most beautiful song I have got to know in a year. I had seen this song from time to time before, but only listened to it in December of last year. And it is absolutely super powerful. (I know the version above isn't technically the original one, but it is the version I first listened to and like the most)

Isabella's Lullaby gives off the feelings of all the adjectives in the first paragraph of this section: There is sadness, but also comfort. There will be suffering, but also determination. There is going to be despair, but also hope.

(There is a scene I have imagined involving Clinton and baby Donald, inspired by this song. More info in a longer infodump about my Ducktales AU settings that I absolutely have to write it out.)

Yeah, I plan to write at least three fics for Your Boyfriend. I'm pretty sure there are three routes: kindness, abuse, and neutral/friend. (Or maybe that's fanon, I'm not really sure. Due to the nature of the fandom, it can be hard to figure out what's going on unless you follow the creator closer, which I do not.) I know most fans want an acceptance route, so I might do something for that... but I've really struggled with what I would do for that. Maybe I'll do an oneshot or something. They’re all planned to be reader inserts, but with their own personality traits to fit the route.

The Soul Dances (And Burns In Its Grief) - Abuse Route This reader is meaner than ITW. She’s cautious and jagged—a skeptical romantic. She manages a bridal boutique and considers love to be her day job. Peter lives in the second story apartment across the street from the restaurant she frequents every week for her string of failed first dates. I have a few chapters written (not edited), but wasn’t sure if folks would be okay with me splitting my attention between the two projects so I haven't posted anything.

Poison By Any Other Name (Could Be So Sweet) - Friendship Route I’m still working out exactly what I want for this one. Currently my draft is a world where Peter has a child and our reader is a preschool teacher—I like the idea of what happens to a yandere after their darling passes away? Are they softer? Crazier? I just think it's a neat idea, but it's not set in stone yet.

"UtaPri's World" vs. "The Real World"

And we are BACK! So if we recall yesterday morning I was mentioning about the way UtaPri is marketing their 3 units...well more like 2 at this moment with a third kind of..."there" See after Season 4 for UtaPri in 2016 Broccoli had put out a tweet that said something to this effect "From now on follow the stories of the idols of the Shining Agency and Raging Entertainment going forward" Or something of that effect. It was a weird tweet because ,at that point, UtaPri had only the one twitter which was the official one. What was clear was that they were going to have to work on the idea of figuring out how to do news for the two "Agencies" and convey that to the audience. This is where things get a little dicey to me Okay it was clear they wanted to "simulate" the idea of having "Raging Entertainment" and "Shining Agency" exist and that would be FINE if they decided to rebrand the UtaPri twitter to specifically "Shining Agency" (like there was literally on this site at some point but not official). The thing was that the "Main Twitter" (utapri_official) was still just that so it kind of made me scratch my head as to what the purpose of splitting the two units really was because from a marketing standpoint it was just not something I would have done. On 7/7/2017 the twitter for HEAVENS called "HEAVENS_Staff" was officially launched and when it came into being it was where HEAVENS would write out messages (and would later also incorporate a lineblog that won an award no less) for their fans and would also be where they announced their new projects and so forth. This seemed like a good idea on paper but something we need to remember is that Broccoli spends a lot of their time focusing on STARISH and QUARTET NIGHT whereas HEAVENS...eh kind of gets the short end of the stick a little bit Think about it... On 6/24 every year Broccoli does a HUGE deal for the Shining Agency and there are plenty of news items to come out of there beit game releases ,new CD Projects or Anime things for them so you get a lot of stuff on that day FOR THEM! When we get to 7/7 its almost like Broccoli forgot that they are trying to have two different "Agencies" exist in the "Real World" so when you get to their day you get ,no joke, one CD announcement and that's it! It almost makes you want to forget that 7/7 is really a thing honestly! Now what could the reason be for doing it this way? I think Broccoli assumes that everyone following this is treating it like a thing where "Shining" is putting his boys outfront and making sure they get a lot of different things coming their way whereas HEAVENS has a stricter "President" in "Raging" and only acts on certain days. Like alright Whenever a Birthday for a member of Shining Agency (Ryuya comes to mind as he is having his birthday come up) they would get a 3 day notice for it for people to wish him a "Happy Birthday" which is cool and all but also kind of "WTF" in a way Why? Because the way this is worked out is that HEAVENS gets literally JUST their day and that's it! Now yes they get to do a birthday message (and on Valentine's Day they will do those) but for the most part their "Participation in the Real World" is limited. It's crazier because of the fact that it feels like Broccoli assumes everyone to be on board with this and yet...it doesn't work that way! How do you expect ALL the fans to rationalize and understand something that they clearly might not? What ends up happening is every time 7/7 comes around (or 7/6 here in the States) I try to be excited but its literally JUST a CD announcement and at this point they flopped so bad its hard to get really happy about them for sure It's almost like Broccoli forgot that if you forget a part of the fanbase exists they tend to start to move on. It's kind of like with Shining Live really because when you have a player base that has some that hadn't logged on in a month plus (I know cos some were on my friends list) it makes you wonder what they were thinking! Did they really have plans for HEAVENS? I mean when you

Think about it they did do some stuff for April Fools but nothing really like what Shining got! One year HEAVENS got a "Visual Novel" style game where they invited you to a Garden but it (shockingly) had mostly bad ends to the routes which SUCKED! This year the big thing they did was they created a YT channel for one day...that's it and the channel was featuring a "Show" called "HEAVENS Love Affair" which...you can guess was the closest thing to a HEAVENS Otome thing we got so far. Now would it be cool if that project ACTUALLY became something outside of just Merch? Yeah it sure would but do I expect it to? Heck naw Broccoli as a company has only known how to market STARISH and QUARTET NIGHT which is funny because they know they have three groups and when you "separate" them from the others you have to make sure you have plans in the future I mean why have them at any of the Stage events if they don't get to do solos? If the argument is "Because they don't have enough songs to do a full stage" My dude...how long do you think a concert NEEDS to be?! A while back I went to a concert for KAMIJO up in New York at the Highline Ballroom. That concert (If I remember right) went about an hour and a half to 2 hours! I can assure you that between every group KAMIJO was a part of there were enough songs to go PAST THAT! But he didn't No the thing went literally about 90 minutes or so and then we all went home. A HEAVENS Stage could literally go 90 minutes if they did their song list now if not an hour and that WOULD have been acceptable. I say this because really I have no idea other to show they are lesser than the other two groups as to why the actual f**k they would ever need to appear at a stage for Shining Agency? It makes literally no sense except to make sure they never get to perform any of their songs Okay let me back up here This past stage with all the events that happened between when the stage was SUPPOSED to happen vs. when it DID and they did the survey I got it...no issues here because the circumstances caused everything to be the way they were and that's fine and I understand it 6th Stage though... Explain to me how you do that stage where ,first you start before everyone's there and then it has to stop for a bit so that happens, and then when it restarts the setlist goes on but between the two groups with the Duet Project STARISH gets to do solos and HEAVENS no? This is always a weird thing with me because ,if you are going to do a two day show, one of those days COULD be used to add songs into the setlist that they other didn't have. Is it necessarily fair? No but neither is starting a show before everyone is seated and then you have to stop anyways so there/s that too! It's also not fair to have the two groups from the Duet Project there and only one gets to have Solos (and the "Tears in Love" one SUCKED...seriously the Album version is MUCH better) It's still confusing to me to try and understand how Broccoli is marketing (if we want to call it that) HEAVENS because there is clearly a "storyline" that they want people to follow but the thing is we have been watching it now for 5 (if not 6) years and no one has really clued in anyone as to what is going on! It's like Broccoli is doing this weird storyline in real life but I guarantee you its making HEAVENS fans (internationally anyways) more and more deflated while the Int'l STARISH fans get better and better stuff With the recent announcement of STARISH getting that 1 hour special before the "Tours" thing I can PROMISE you that if that announcement had been for HEAVENS no English fans would be tweeting Sentai to get it...quite the opposite actually but hey we all have biases and I get it...I just wear mine a little more proudly than most I think but we already knew that Broccoli (and Elements Garden) need to stop being partial and start showing proper love to the young men of Raging Entertainment cos this is just WACK!

It's a curious thing to sit on the sideline in a fandom. Be it between shippers or who your favorite is. And what one side is complaining about the other... is exactly the same they do as well and it's so... how are no one seeing this? You are all complaining about the same things except you have different favorites. Some are easier to talk to than others and some are crazier, but in the end it's this neverending circle of hate and spite.

We're all pretty much convinced that our opinions are the right ones, even though we almost never have more than a fraction of the story, yep. Of course, if we weren't highly invested and opinionated, we wouldn't have entire blogs dedicated to voicing our thoughts - that's where the fanatic origin of fan comes into it.

Which is why I always say that you should try to be as aware of your own biases and that of the blogs you're reading - and even their circle of interaction - as you can. I would not, for instance, remotely tout myself as an unbiased and fair source for conversation about Misha. I'm not, and I stopped even trying to be a long while ago.

Personally, I think that's when it gets really dicey. When you have people who are antis or stans but try to play it off as if they're not reacting from a position of already present bias. Justified or not (because we all think ours are justified, naturally).

Sometimes I assume the worst, jump to conclusions, don't verify information, project my own feelings onto the cast, and generally act like an over-invested fan with Opinions in a notoriously wanky fandom. It's up to anyone who reads my posts to determine for themselves whether or not my thoughts are worth listening to and/or agreeing with. As it should be.

My favorite dynamic between two characters is Style!! I've always been a sucker for best friends to lovers and I love how devoted these two are together, as well as how much they've been through and how much they need each other- It's not the healthiest dynamic in that regard, their codependence isn't always the best, but I think that's part of the fun of the ship and I like to think as they get older, they work out a lot of their issues and become a lot healthier with time (Though they're about at the level of your average couple now, no relationship is perfect). I also really like how easy it is to take Stan and Kyle and put them in any number of dynamics or situations or AUs- I always tend to stick with them knowing each other since childhood personally but they work work well as a couple that just met and fell in love as well, and there's loads you can do with both of those as well as the canon material from the show.

My favorite ship of all has to be Stendylenny. It's a super rare poly ship that I actually hadn't seen before my friends and I started shipping it, but I've seen it begin to spread slightly which makes me EXTREMELY happy! It's a poly between Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Wendy. I really love all of them shipped one on one so putting them all together just makes sense for me!! I could talk about this ship a lot but I don't even know where to start, it's just fun imagining the different scenarios that got these four together, and I feel like it could happen pretty easily. I think ships with both Wendy and Kenny are severely underrated in this fandom and I also just really like good old fashion style and stendy ofc. There's just a really good mix of dynamics with the four of them.

21. Do you have a favorite adult? If so, who?

Sheila Broflovski for sure. She is, in my opinion, the best parent in the show besides side character parents who haven't existed long enough to be in a conflict, and is just a generally good person. I can see why characters in the show are annoyed by her actions and how she can be overbearing and pushy, but she's a fantastic mom who listens closely to her sons and really tries to do what's best for them, as well as what's best for others around her. She's also shown to be fairly kind to other people even if she has her moments, and is honest and fair to her friends (She needs better ones). She also doesn't take shit from almost anyone.

A big part of this from me might be projection because my mom is pretty similar to her (Heavy jersey accent and all) but fuck it IDC Sheila best adult.

I also like Mr. Garrison a lot but only bc he's funny af

23. What was the first piece of content you created for the South Park fandom?

So a while back, three or four years ago, my friend Starby was into South Park. I was not. I, in fact, happened to sort of,, judge her for her interests, even if I was playful about it. Anyway, one day I was trying to include them in this one RP that was a cartoon crossover, except all of the characters were cats (It's a bizarre concept but my RPs tend to be a little crazier and more self indulgent than the stuff I post) and they wanted to roleplay as Butters since he's her favorite. So my first actual South Park fan work that I ever created is this really old, ugly design for him as a cat that I completely forgot about until about a week ago:

!!!!!!!LIAM’S ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reading both the Sun and the Daily Mail’s version of events is a headache and a massive web of contradictions, but it’s all we have to go off of, because no one else decided to chime in today, including Liam himself!

On August 27, 2020, The Sun reported Liam’s engagement to *mumbles number between 19 and 20 here* year old Maya Henry after two years of dating. This number is brought to you by the same source that says Maya was 20 years old. According to People, the first year was secret! The Sun did publish pap pics from 8/26 with what was reported to be a £3 million engagement ring on her finger. The fandom’s reaction has been mixed at best, though largely, an air of confusion prevails, followed quickly by anger and frustration. And just like that, we have returned to a hostile fandom environment with a LOT of differing opinions which have drawn lines in the sand.

And then, of course, Liam went live. This happened at around 8 pm BST, and he spent 20 minutes talking about his upcoming show because,oh, also, the LP Show is in ONE day! What else did he have to say? Well, he talked a bit about his haunted house, doing more food challenges, premiering new songs on Saturday (!!!), Harry’s nipples (???), the way he pronounces ‘adore’, the Umbrella Academy, COVID life and how he keeps his depression at bay (love u, bud), and he sang a bit of Watermelon Sugar, while promising that Saturday’s show is the culmination of a lot of hard work, and he hopes it goes well. I do, too! The comments on the live, however, only seemed to want one pesky question answered: is he actually engaged?? For what it’s worth, Liam ignored everything related to this topic, and did not once mention his girlfriend/fiancee. Thanks for that, Liam!

We at 1 dee discourse inc. gave it a day, but, despite Liam’s conspicuous evasion of the subject in his live, this very much seems to be the route that Liam - or, rather, his team - are taking, as his rep seems to have confirmed the engagement with The Sun so! Don’t shoot the messenger! However, as we are still in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, they seem to be headed for a lengthy engagement - or at least that’s the hope. My piece of advice to them would be: don’t try to break the social distancing guidelines with a wedding, you crazy kids!

( Intern’s note: Honestly, if you have something mean to say about Maya, please don’t put it in my notes - she’s nineteen years old, and I don’t want to hear it.)

Let’s see...what else happened today? OH YEAH, Louis put out a brand new merch line!!! Okay, guys, my bank account is not going to survive this. Lyric Drop 1, as this collection is called, dropped on the 28th of August (today, as it so happens!).There were also rainbow face mural T-shirts and hoodies, as well as - get this, guys!! - a crop top hoodie! Anyways, the Lyric Drop line seems to mean that each collection will be inspired from different lyrics in Walls. This one is the “You’re Written In My DNA” Collection, which showcases a green and red double helix on top of a...fence? It’s DNA inside a cage? Behind a wall? (I actually really like that last one, so that’s what we’re going with!)

Well, at least it isn’t called the “DNA test” line, but it is pretty funny, considering...everything. This begs the question, though, of what lyric they will adapt next! I personally vote for “come so far from Princess Park” or “singing something poppy on the same four chords” or “it’s a solo song, and it’s only for the brave”. Regardless, I am curious as to how they’re going to design some of these lines, AND I think that “the Princess Park line” sounds like a super cute name for merch!

I think I should not have been surprised by this drop, given that he was seen meeting with a designer about merch a month ago (but not, as we thought, his twin brother, the head of UMG), but. I was still surprised. Soooo...does anyone want to help an Intern out and buy me the DNA tank top or an oversized hoodie of his eyes?? ~This is a joke I’m not actually asking you to buy me merch.~

Because Louis and Harry always have to be #twinning, there was an unusual development about Harry’s merch, as well. HSHQ might pick a legal fight with Forever 21 for, uh, *double checks* putting the phrase “Treat People With Kindness” on a hoodie. Harry did actually trademark that phrase in the UK, the US, and the EU in 2019, so he may have a legal case? Let’s get this square - as Louis would say - Forever 21 sucks. They suck, and they’re almost bankrupt, so this did not seem to be a smart move on their end. If it were me, though, I would urge HSHQ to recognize the fact that similar merch is being sold at a much lower cost, which seems to make it more accessible to fans - who are more than willing to buy it!

Zayn is zayning? I think that’s how you use that word. It has been noted that he has been more visible (for him) on social media, lately, so that might hint at a new project he might have coming out, which absolutely could be the case! In the same vein, Icarus Falls was re-released on all major streaming platforms with two more tracks: Dusk ‘Til Dawn and Still Got Time. This brings the tracklist to a total of 29 tracks and the length of the album to almost 1 hour and 40 minutes!! That’s crazy!!! Even crazier, the album has now surpassed 1.1 billion streams on Spotify! Go Zayn!

Meanwhile, a former Syco (or psycho, as I like to call them) artist confirmed the label’s dissolution while shading the fuck out of them. The Wikipedia was quickly changed to more accurately reflect the situation. It now reads: “...the record label [was] founded by British LOUIS TOMLINSON SUPREMACY…”. Also, if you change your Google settings to Spanish and Google ‘Harry Styles’, you��ll be informed that he’s been married to Louis Tomlinson since 2019. Happy anniversary, boys!

The Shining & Doctor Sleep Movies

Over the holiday break, I finished reading Doctor Sleep and wanted to see the movie. Since there was a cold, snowy, blizzard-y night, it seemed like the perfect evening to re-watch The Shining first.

Every Constant Reader knows Steve hates Kubrick’s movie. He famously referred to it as, “A Cadillac with no engine in it...” He felt the movie was “too cold” and that was reinforced by the ending. He didn’t love the casting, and thought Jack Torrance opened the movie crazy, and just got crazier. There was no range for the character, and no redemptive moments.

But Constant Readers also know the book and movie are two different works with completely different endings, and different portrayals of the characters. It’s this last point I take issue with... In the books, Wendy Torrance is a strong, protective mother who cares more about Danny and his safety than anything else. Movie Wendy does nothing more than run around screaming and melting to the ground. It’s insulting to the strong character Steve created. It’s also insulting to Shelley Duvall, who dealt with serious mental trauma during and after filming.

But, let’s unwind this one a little more. I feel like movie showed what a misogynist Kubrick really was. He minimized Wendy to an annoying wimp, he thought nothing of gratuitous female full frontal nudity, and then there was the bizarre Blaxploitation art in Dick Hallorann’s bedroom. Really, Stan??? Really???

I know. This is such a small, weird point, but it really bothered me. In the books, Dick Halloran is a hero for the ages. He immediately bonds with Danny, and ultimately protects both Danny and Wendy from Jack and The Overlook. And, he shows back up in Doctor Sleep to help Danny control the ghosts he keeps seeing. In the books, Dick is a warm, comforting father-figure; a foil to Jack’s cold, recovering addict. Even after his death, Dick becomes Dan’s moral compass. But in the movies, he’s oddly sexual, and ends up dead. Oh, and he’s referred to several times with the “n” word. So that was fun to cringe along to while my twelve year-old shot me judgmental looks.

All and all, I don’t think I need to see The Shining movie again. Looking at it through my adult, feminist lens, it’s just gross. And it doesn’t do the book justice. Sorry, not sorry.

And then there’s Doctor Sleep.

I absolutely adored this adaptation, and while it wasn’t identical, it was pretty damn close. You can sense the change almost immediately in the movie: gone is the whiney, helpless Wendy. In her place is a Mama Bear, worried about Danny, and wanting him to get better. Additionally, the actress they cast, could be a younger Shelley Duvall.

Speaking of casting, it does not get better than Rose the Hat. Rebecca Ferguson absolutely slayed, and was one of the most terrifying villains ever, ever, ever. Well done, girl.

The movie wasn’t a perfect re-telling of the book, and it left out a few key details (Dan being Abra’s uncle, the measles the True Knot contract), but I am aware it was done for the sake of time. Although I wouldn’t have minded watching a three hour version of the movie.

The biggest deviation the movie takes from the book is the ending that takes place inside The Overlook. In the book, it takes place where The Overlook used to be. I’m not sure how I feel about the movie following the movie, but no one called for my opinion... so here we are. And I’m sure Doctor Sleep attracted a lot of fans of the original movie.

Does the blog provide any new, hot takes? No. But it was fun to watch them back to back after reading both of the books. I got to annoy my roommates with plenty of facts from the books, and tidbits about why Steve hated The Shining movie so much. I don’t know that they were impressed, but they’re a tough crowd.

I haven’t watched a ton of movies during this project, but I have recently started Castle Rock, so maybe I’ll pop back on with an update on that. No promises. I’ve got nine books to finish, y’all!!

hmmm Saw 2 is generally really beloved by fans, I actually went into the Saw series hearing that Saw 2 was the best one so I had high hopes, and y’know what I see why it’s so loved (keep in mind it was just the people around me that said Saw 2 was their favorite, though I’m pretty sure Saw 2 is generally loved by every Saw fan)

The reason I love Saw 2 so much Is that I feel like it really steps up from the original in a great way. While the original had heart and I thoroughly enjoy it, I feel like Saw 2 allowed for the team involved to really bring the series to its full potential while still having that small team committing to a passion project feel. It keeps the tone of the original, with better acting, crazier traps, and more focus on the people in traps rather than the soap opera esc. cop drama going on in the secondary plot.

This is also the first movie where we properly meet John Krahmer and we get to find out what his deal is, his backstory and philosophy is intriguing but he’s also so smug that you can never really fully sympathize with the guy and I think that makes him a really effective antagonist, you really understand why Eric Matthews starts getting so frustrated with him but you also don’t want to go against John because of this lurking feeling that what he’s saying is masking something much greater (and it always is).

Saw 2 just also has some of my favorite characters in it that I feel like really pull the movie together. It was shocking to see Amanda back and I loved her interactions with the rest of the cast, but the twist at the end with her really flips those interactions on their heads and I feel like it’s a genuinely good twist, I would’ve loved to see this movie in theatres and see everyone's reaction to it.

We also have characters like Daniel Matthews who’s probably one of my fav characters in the whole series, a delinquent kid with a heart of gold, he could’ve easily just been another annoying angsty teen character that complains too much but he isn’t, he’s genuinely pretty sweet and is the one that’s willing to help people out the most out of everyone in the gas house. Son boy allowed. Jonas was also a character I really liked even though we didn’t get much of him, I was pretty upset when he died he seemed like a good dude.

The last character I’ll briefly touch on is Xavier, the way his character gradually got angrier and more threatening as the movie went on was done really well. From the start, he was a hothead but to see him turn into this hot-headed dude that you get frustrated with, to this actually really dangerous and murderous man that starts hunting down all the other house victims is really scary. I was tense the whole time he was tracking down Amanda and Daniel and the scene where he cuts off the number on the back of his neck is just cool and iconic.

So yeah, overall I’d say Saw 2 is my favorite of the Saw series cause well, it’s just a really solid and well-done movie! It expands on the twist and lore introduced in the first one without it going too over the top (like in the later movies) and the ending really hooks you and leaves you wondering what’ll happen in the next one. There’s also just something so gritty and brutal about the traps in this movie that I feel like the later traps don’t capture (not to say that they’re bad or anything, most of my favorite traps come from the later movies actually! but there’s something so simple yet so effective about the traps in this movie it makes my skin crawl.)

Can’t Touch - k.sm

Chapter Twelve: Hands off

After weeks of your husband supposedly ‘ignoring’ you, you were ecstatic to receive a text from him, the first thing in the morning. What a nice way to start the day! And then you were seen smiling crazily at that. That encouraged you to wait for him tonight, again.

Let’s not fall asleep, yea?

Jisung told you that Seungmin had been busier than ever. And he reassured you that him appearing only when you were asleep was not because he wanted to ignore you, but because of his hectic schedule of work. And boy, was Seungmin diligent when it came to his work! You were so determined to wait till his arrival. You even made yourself cups of caffeine to keep you up, chanted a series of ‘blueberry, butterberry shortcake’, watched some netflix. But to no avail.

You were fast asleep sitting on the divan, again.

Seungmin came home quite after midnight, yawning continuously on the way. He had yawned through his desultory way from the elevator, as he was removing his shoes and as he saw your relaxed sleeping figure in front of him. But the last yawn stretched into a smile across the fatigue on his face.

He went closer to you, watching you inhale and exhale softly. In his sleepy state, he tried to match your rhythm of breathing; respiring as you released breath through your parted lips and inspiring as you sucked in the air. He mentally slapped himself to consciousness as he noticed his stupid behavior.

Oh my god we’re breathing the same air.

Seungmin watched you squirm a bit in your sleep, resting your back against the divan as your head limply positioned itself. Your posture was unstable and quite- dangerous, on the verge of losing balance any second. Seungmin stretched out his hand impulsively, but did nothing. What could he do? Wake you up? No, he couldn’t disrupt your sleep, nor could he carry you to your room. He could only look at his outstretched hand and wonder what could be done. But it concluded to nothing.

What he feared was already on the go.

Seungmin went into panic mode as soon as your head started tilting more than necessary, taking along your body. Before Seungmin could comprehend anything, his body took action ; his hand instantly held your falling jaw on a whim, restricting your probable fall. His hands cupped you cheek, touch so light yet relishing. And as he realized what he had done, he waited for the unwanted and irrational thoughts; waited for the agony that awaited his impulsive actions. But nothing came. Nothing to ruin the moment.

He moved his hand so that his thumb rested on you cheek, the rest of his hand trailed behind your ear. He noticed himself caressing your cheek, ever so slowly, savoring every feel. And he recalled when Chan had said

‘You are a person who wants to touch and be touched.’

How true that was. Nothing could compare the overwhelming affection he felt for you at that moment. So this is how it feels? He crouched on one knee in front of you, still holding your jaw in place.

His wishful fantasies of how your skin could feel like were proven so wrong. Because your skin was so much softer than he’d imagined, and so much more warm; it was smoother than anything he’d touched, even more velvety than gossamer itself. It was as if you were a valuable feather, fugacious yet fascinating. He found you so ultimately fletching, ethereal even. And he was like a diaphanous hero of some romantic vintage movie, who was head over heels for the heroin; a whole unfiltered filmy creep.

Your comparatively large eyes with long profuse lashes and your button nose that unexpectedly had a sharp edge. Then his eyes landed to you slightly parted lips, that drew him in like nothing else. They were so inviting and even though he admired all your features equally, he couldn’t help but admit that your tinted lips were the cynosure of your glamorous face.

Seungmin felt his surroundings fade into a blur; the world a dream he vaguely remembered as his vision focused on that specific part of your face.

Involuntarily, he discovered himself slowly leaning in towards you. And his head tilted without his permission, instinctively edging towards your lips with passing time. He was so close to you that he could feel your breath fanning his lips, mingling with his own.

As soon as he realized what he was doing, he instantly leaned back; blinking himself back to reality. He was stilled for moment. He couldn’t do it. Not now at least. He could call himself weak, he could detest himself, but nothing could beat his fear of his own mind. It was terrifying to him every moment. The fact that he couldn’t freely touch you, or give you the affection you deserved, was saddening.

And to top that, you were sleeping.

He tilted your head so that it rested on the opposite side, not off-balance and quickly removed his hand. He decided that it would be best to wake you up and cast you to the comforts of you bed, than to let you sleep here- that too, sitting. You would fall back on the divan if your head were to lose its balance again, but then it would hurt your neck in the morning.

“Y/N?”

You woke up with a jolt, eyes blinking cutely as you looked his face. “Huh? Where am I?” Seungmin was surprised at how fleeting and sensitive your sleep was. However, your cluelessness was surely a sight to see.

Seungmin chuckled at you. “You're in the living room, please go to your room.”

You were too sleepy to argue or even remember why you were here in the first place. So you complied without a second thought and waddled back to your room.

Seungmin watched your adorable walk to your room with reminiscent eyes. And he was left alone in the silence of his living room, heart hammering against his chest. He was clueless about himself, about his indecisive heart; and the plethora of deep feelings he held. Again, his hand went to his tumultuous heart, trying to realize what excited him so much. Just like his wedding day.

Seungmin was very successful with his accomplished project. But he got even busier with conferences and media staggering his every step. He spent incredulous amount of time in preparing his speeches and formulating plausible answers for any questions that might be thrown at him. And these included hours of pacing and arguing with Jisung about the arrangement of sentences; along with Jisung simultaneously managing to trip himself multiple times.

To his dismay, Seungmin didn’t see you at all the entire week. And to say that he missed you was a serious understatement. He didn’t even have the time to creep on you at midnight and get lost in your beauty. There was no output of the stress and pressure inclined from his work, which made him crazier every day. Because he couldn’t see you.

However, texting you made half of his day. But it was nowhere near the alleviate of frustration that your actual presence provided. And after all this flurry ended, he invited you to his workplace, his personal cubic office that strictly forbade unknown entries.

Seungmin paced around the room restlessly, anticipating your arrival. Jisung sat on the neat couch, one leg on top of the other as he leisurely scrolled down his smartphone. He had long given up annoying his friend since all the other could think about was when his wife is going to make an appearance.

“I discovered I scream the same way whether a shark is about to devour me or if I step on a piece of seaweed.”

“Do you think she’s going to come sooner?”

Jisung was devastated that the other paid him zero attention. There were so many questions in his discovery, yet Seungmin asked him something he knew nothing about. He expected the other to say that he screamed all the time, or why on earth would he have seaweed on the floor. Or how the fuck he knew his screaming level when a shark would devour him?

But he had no curiosity. Bummer.

Seungmin’s ears perked up as the door to his office creaked open, revealing you in your flattering sundress and undone flurrying hair. He quickly straightened his posture and pretended to lean on his work-desk, as if he wasn’t just stressing for the past hour.

“Hey Jisung!” you called, catching the attention of the said boy.

Seungmin’s face dropped as quick as your handbag. He had been dying to see you and to hear you call his name, and there you were; not even noticing him. But his best friend, hah! He felt something foreign when you called his friend in an informal speech, and it started to slowly tug at his insides.

He saw you rushing towards the now-standing Jisung, engulfing him in a short hug, who reciprocated your actions too whole-heartedly. He saw you engaging in an informal conversation with the latter, forming the elegant smile that he craved so much. The tug at his heart seemed to get even itchier, gnawing; as he unblinkingly stared at you both.

When did you get so comfortable with Han Jisung?

He found himself snapping back to his senses when you turned your attention to him. Bits of that unusual discomfort fading as you bestowed him with a brighter smile. Did you miss him as much as he did? Did you miss your little conversations as much as he did? Did you crave his presence as much as he did? Countless thoughts ran through his mind, but he couldn’t but imitate your bubbly smile and greet you back with the same happiness.

Maybe even more.

Seungmin heard as you excitedly talked to him, asked him about his overall health and about the success that came with his hard-work. He saw that you were skeptic about his train of positive answers, maybe because you didn’t believe him, or maybe because the exasperation on his face was too obvious to ignore. With a betraying look, you questioned Jisung about the accuracy of his answers. And he was pissed that Jisung- of all people- was not on his side.

It was nice to see that you had easily bonded with his best-friend, but it left a gnawing feeling in the middle of his chest; which he did not like at all. He wanted to rip you both off of each-other every time Jisung held your hand with ease, or slung his arm over your shoulder as if it was nothing. It was a bit too friendly- too touchy- for Seungmin’s comfort.

In reality, he was undoubtedly envious.

“Hands off,”

“Come on man, I’m not doing anything,” Seungmin got even more irked when his friend just continued to compliment your hair, your outfit, your cheeks, your everything. Praise- was okay, but not when Jisung was running his hand through your hair and expressing his amazement on just how nourished and thick your hair was.

Remove you fucking hand, you dipshit.

Even you weren’t expecting him to so touchy- somewhat clingy and it didn’t match at all how he was the best friend of the Kim Seungmin, who could not endure touches. How ironic.

On the other hand, Jisung was enjoying this way too much to stop. He saw just how fuming Seungmin was, eyeing his every movement with hawk eyes. He found it comical how Seungmin couldn’t even contain the ineffable jealousy that displayed on his scrunched face. Jisung occasionally let out ripples of amused laugh at the fuming man, and that only encouraged him to keep holding your hand as you both shared talks.

He wasn’t the one with a touch-issue. So why not?

And Seungmin was left feeling like a third wheeler, who stuck out like a sore thumb in the middle of two extroverted beings. He was jealous, sure, but it wasn’t materialistic. It was an abstract envy of how others love you, show the love to you; the way he could only imagine, could only wait. He envied how something he couldn’t get past, was a breeze for his friend. As easy as a piece of cake.
