what is the reading list you’ve been doing
This meme. Got reposted from 4chan to Reddit to Twitter and finally to Tumblr. I'll update this post as I read each book. Here's the complete list:
1. Goosebumps #28: The Cuckoo Clock of Doom - R.L. Stine. Very middle of the road Goosebumps book not especially good but not terrible. 6/10 dead sisters.
2. Call of the Crocodile - F. Gardner. This book is a meme on /lit/ cause the dude's batshit and is constantly trying to promote his books that are extremely poorly written. He calls himself a famous author, doesn't believe gorillas or giraffes are real, and advocates chainsmoking cigarettes to help with the writing process. This book is the funniest thing I've ever read and made me so fucking angry by being so awful. 10/10 misplaced commas.
3. No Longer Human - Osamu Dazai. A semi-autobiographical story published before the author's suicide about a severely mentally ill character named Oba Yozo through his life of addiction, women, suicide attempts, and so on. An incredibly depressing read. His whole inner life is laid bare and it's disgusting and grotesque and you see yourself in him and you wish you could hold him and cry for him but even if you could you would never have the power to make anything okay. Beautiful fucking book, genuinely 100% no fucking joke changed my life. 10000/10 shitty cyberpunk adaptations.
4. Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoevsky. I cried hard as fuck dude. Another life changer for reals. Dostoevsky had such a deep understanding of human nature whether it be the lowest, most base and vile instincts or the unending capacity for love and compassion that exist in us all. All while being the blueprint for like every heady crime drama like Death Note, Breaking Bad, etc. The shit all you fags like. Most people just remember it as maybe required HS reading and definitely something people are pretentious about but it 100% deserves all the love it gets. Fan fucking tastic. 100000/10 years in Siberia.
5. Becoming - Michelle Obama. A bit too heavily ghostwritten, but when Michelle's voice shows through it's not terrible, it's kind of interesting to hear the inside scoop on White House life. It's kind of sad that Barack is the most interesting part of the book, and book-Barack seems like an extremely interesting and cool guy. But the book doesn't address all his dead civilians. 5/10 drone strikes.
6. Ulysses - James Joyce. The modernist novel, from what I understand. Half retelling of the Odyssey in 1900s Ireland, half a troll on literary critics, all around a pretty damn fun read. Not very far yet. Definitely the most difficult thing I've ever tried to read. Unfinished/10 Agenbites of inwit
7. 48 Laws of Power. This is like, THE sigma bro self help book as far as I've heard. It's pretty iconic, but I'm not especially excited for it.
8. Frankenstein - Mary Shelley. We all know it and love it, I'm interested to read the OG story.
9. Catechism of the Catholic Church 2nd Edition. Book from the Vatican that lays out what the church's official opinions, rules, shit like that are. Will be boring but interesting.
10. The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins. One of the biggest atheist dude books there is and probably by far the most influential. God is bad people who believe in God are stupid etc etc. Hopefully it has something interesting to say and isn't just a jerk off. It might just be a jerk off.
11. The Love Hypothesis - Ali Hazelwood. Some booktok romance schlock afaik. People make fun of it.
12. A Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole. All I know is it's about a guy in New Orleans in the 60s. Might be good, people seem to really like it.
13. The Art of War - Sun Tzu. Im gonna get so good at surprising my enemy.
14. Kodomo no Jikan - Kaworu Watashiya. Pure pedoslop, I don't think there's even an official English translation so we might not read it but I'm preemptively giving it 0/10.
15. The Iliad - Homer. The story of the Trojan war. All I know is Helen, Horse, and that's about it.
16. The Odyssey - Homer. It's the Odyssey. I think it's funny that it comes after Ulysses since I don't actually know the whole story of the Odyssey itself.
17. Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer - Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth. This is that thing they made a Netflix doc about a while back.
18. The C++ Programming Language 4th edition - Bjarne Stroustrup. Exactly what it says on the tin, by the guy who wrote the language.
19. Empress Theresa - Norman Boutin. A classic, it's a weird self-published story by a guy who's extremely unwell, usually referenced in the same way Sonichu is.
20. The Sound and the Fury - William Faulkner. His most difficult to read work, about a Southern family at the beginning of the 20th century.
21. Black Future #1 - Whitney Ryan. A very racist BNWO sissification porn story that was probably written as a joke. Possible skip definite 0/10.
22. The Cat in the Hat - Dr. Seuss. You know this.
23. The Trial - Franz Kafka. One of Kafka's most famous unfinished works, about a guy who's on trial for something and he doesn't know what.
24. American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis. Supposed to be way darker and more fucked up than the movie, really supposed to chill you to the bone afaik. VERY excited for this read.
25. Gravity's Rainbow - Thomas Pynchon. One of those famous "Really Fucking Long And Hard Books" like Infinite Jest or Ulysses, incredibly autistic foray into WW2 rocket science. Classic Pynchonery.
26. Magick In Theory and Practice - Aleister Crowley. Thankfully it's not the entirety of Magick Liber ABA Book 4.
27. Minecraft Jokes for Kids - Steve Minecraft. Not a real book but we'll substitute Jokes For Minecrafters by the Hollow family.
28. The Jews and Their Lies - Martin Luther. One of the most notorious antisemitic texts, right up there with the Protocols. It's going to be a pretty apalling read but it has pretty damn significant historical value so it's probably worth reading.
29. Dianetics - L. Ron Hubbard. The scientology book. It's way longer than you'd expect.
30. Everyone Poops - Taro Gomi. I don't understand this because girls don't poop.
31. In His Own Write - John Lennon. His writing and art, mostly just a bunch of absurd bullshit. I want to remain neutral and not just hate the book because I hate the guy. We'll see if it deserves that.
32. Bear - Marian Engel. This is that Canadian novel where the woman has a romance with a bear.
33. How To Get A Girlfriend - Chad Scott Nellis. Some bullshit self published thing. I'm gonna be swimming in punani.
34. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck - Mark Manson. Some self help schlock afaik.
35. Gabriel Dropout (vol. 3) - UKAMI. This is that cutesy manga about those angels and demons in human high school.
36. 120 Days of Sodom - Marquis De Sade. Old story of elite sex cults, I'm pretty sure it's the origin of that being like a thing that people conspiracy theory about.
37. Phenomenology of Spirit - Hegel. You probably know Hegel from either Marx or Fallout New Vegas. I know Hegel because a chick at my friend's co-op talked at me about him for like ten minutes while I was way too shit faced to know what the fuck is going on around me at all but I nodded along.
38. Star Wars: The Ultimate Sticker Collection. I bought this used for a buck fifty with half the stickers gone. All the new trilogy ones were still there.
39. The Anarchist Cookbook. Vom hard at the idea of "buying" this but I want to make sure I get the version as it appears in the meme so I guess I'll drop a few bucks on it.
40. An American Life - Ronald Reagan. Practical applications for previous book.
41. Catcher in the Rye - JD Salinger. Had to read this in high school, hated it, maybe it'll be better this time around.
42. Finnegan's Wake - James Joyce. An early postmodernist work about uhhh fucking whatever it was about. I'm not gonna lie if Ulysses is this hard for me this one will kill me.
43. The Charles Mingus CAT-alog for Toilet Training Your Cat. I'm not in the know when it comes to music but apparently this guy is like one of the gods of jazz. And he wrote a book on teaching your cat to shit in a people-toilet.
44. Am I Disabled? - The Simpsons S7E7. This is the book Homer reads where he learns obesity is a disability and gets really fat so he can work from home. Story of my life.
45. Serial Experiments Lain: An Omnipresence in Wired - Yoshitoshi ABe. The Lain artbook, with the short manga The Nightmare of Fabrication. Will be very expensive to get ahold of.
46. Pounded by the Pound - Chuck Tingle. We've heard enough about this guy the bit was holding onto the last molecule of funny it had like five years ago but I now had to buy a compilation paperback of his work for this.
47. Ford Capri II 2.8 & 3.0 Owners Workshop Manual 1974-1987. Had to order this from the UK couldn't find any in the US.
48. Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov. We all know what this is. Of all things when my mom saw this list this was the book she pointed out as being really good, which I thought was funny.
49. Man's Life Magazine, September 1956 issue. "Weasels Ripped My Flesh." Good god it will be difficult finding the actual magazine, but the weasels story itself has been reprinted.
50. Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (2nd Edition) - Harold Abelson et al. I like when people make anime girls have it :)
51. Shiver - Junji Ito. Never been a major Ito fan but a couple of his works I really liked are in this compilation.
52. Neon Genesis Evangelion (vol. 2) - Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The Eva manga was really good I've actually read it before.
53. How To Avoid Huge Ships - Captain John W. Trimmer. Classic meme because I guess the cover and premise is very funny but I don't really get the joke. It's not that ridiculous sounding of a book, it's just niche.
54. Spice and Wolf (vol. 1) - Isuna Hasekura. Light novel for that manga we've been seeing around. They put a generic cover on it and replaced the anime girl so it could sell to non-weebs.
55. Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand. My sister read this in like middle school and unironically no joke started bawling crying sobbing because poor people are so evil and awful.
56. The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Eric Carle. Oh Boy I Sure Hope This Little Wiggly Guy Eats Something Normal! Oh no.. oh dear ...
57. Glow In The Dark - Kanye West. Very very hard to get a physical copy but we'll try. Photo book of his tour of the same name.
58. Mein Kampf - Adolf Hitler. Now obviously this wasn't included on the list for the genuine important historical value this book has but that's what I'm going to be reading it for. In reading it critically afaik it really paints a picture of how pathetic and unwell he was.
59. Higurashi: When They Cry. I hear it's really good.
60. This is a naked photo of Daniel Radcliffe posed with a horse.
61. Aberration in the Heartland of the Real - Wendy S. Painting. This is a book on the life of the OKBOMB guy, Timothy McVeigh. I hate how true crime shit has become so polarized as either sensational dogshit to make women walk with their keys between their knuckles or some awful horrible thing that's not worth looking into because "they were just racist/misogynistic/etc" I think it's all very reductive so this promises to be a good read.
62. KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation. CIA document on breaking a prisoner and interrogating from the 60s.
63. The Game - Neil Strauss. The Bible for pickup artists.
64. Identifying Wood - R. Bruce Hoadley. Yep, it's wood.
65. Fresh And Fabulous Meals in Minutes - Ainsley Harriot. Lots of memes about him but this is just a regular cookbook.
66. The Turner Diaries - Andrew Macdonald. Far-right racist book that inspired terrorism and hate crimes. People who read it and didn't already agree with it going in have said it's poorly written and just blows, and in the peek I took that seems to be true. It's too influential to not read if I'm going to be reading about Timothy McVeigh. Hard to get since it got pulled from most online stores following Jan 6th.
67. The C Programming Language (2nd Edition) - Brian W. Kernighan & Dennis M. Ritchie. Gonna learn to code I guess.
68. A Little Life - Hanya Yanagihara. It's a story about a group of mentally ill gay men living in New York. Has been described as trauma porn written by a woman fetishizing gay men and is on there because channers like making fun of it, but it was also shortlisted for a Pulitzer.
69. The Rose of Paracelsus - William Leonard Pickard. The author was the victim of one of the largest acid busts and he wrote this in prison.
70. The Book of Mormon - Joseph Smith. Interested to learn what the fuck Mormons are actually all about.
71. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone - J.K. Rowling. Like most people I read these in middle school. They were mid then and they're ass now but I'm not gonna tryhard about how bad they are because you've probably heard enough at this point.
72. A Critique of Pure Reason - Immanuel Kant. As someone who doesn't know shit about philosophy I'm excited.
73. Autobiography - Morrissey. Notorious for being published through Penguin Classics which is NOT for Morrisseys. Bad Morrissey. Go to your room.
74. Official Final Fantasy 7 Strategy Guide. I'm gonna get so good at FF7 dude.
75. My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness - Kabi Nagata. Think of the most annoying bpd she/they you know and then imagine a really mid book that she'd become way too annoying about. You've imagined this book.
76. Children of the Matrix - David Icke. The origin of the reptoids conspiracy theory.
77. Anti-Oedipus - Deleuze and Guattari. Mario and Luigi for your leftist roommate who won't do the dishes
78. Infinite Jest - David Foster Wallace. It's a book about a person place or thing I know that much.
79. Sonichu #0 - Gonna be near impossible to source a physical copy from its short Lulu run.
80. Uncle Tom's Cabin - Harriet Beecher Stowe. Obviously of great historical importance but I get a sneaking suspicion that's not why they put it on the list.
81. Bronze Age Mindset - Bronze Age Pervert. This is... Well, it's sure something.
82. Drilled By My Two Cowboys - Aurora Sommers. BBW Cowboy porn 😋💦
83. The Brothers Karamazov - Fyodor Dostoevsky. People say it's his best work and if it's anywhere near as good as C&P was it'll blow me away. Also the Godfather was inspired by it.
84. Spare - Prince Harry. Really unfunny inclusion I can't imagine there's much value in it.
85. Da Jesus Book. That's the Hawaiian Pidgin translation of the New Testament. So basically I'm just reading the bible with extra steps.
86. Elon Musk - Ashlee Vance. Biography on Elon Musk apparently, not especially interested cause good chance it'll just suck him off hard.
87. Where's Waldo (Deluxe) - Martin Handford. Oh god I hope I find him.
88. Dracula - Bram Stoker. Shoulda subbed to Dracula Daily......
89. Bart Simpson's Guide to Life. I'm excited to see what Bart has to say about what I need to do with myself.
90. Bakemonogatari (vol. 1) - Nisio Isin. I've heard of this in passing I don't really know anything about this light novel except there's like girls and they're monsters maybe?
91. Business Secrets of the Pharoahs - Mark Crorigan. Fake book from S8E2 of the show Peep Show, which I've never heard of. It's British.
92. Industrial Society and Its Future - Ted Kaczynski. All I really know about Ted's ideas in the end is that everyone on here says he's based. I definitely want to read him and formulate my own opinion but I will probably also end up agreeing that he's based.
93. My Twisted World - Elliot Rodger. This is the manifesto of that incel shooter, probably a pretty worthwhile read in the same way a lot of this stuff is, a look into a deeply troubled person's mind.
94. Wash Your Penis - Jordan B. Peterson. This doesn't exist so we'll just read 12 Rules for Life.
95. Andrew Tate's Exegesis of the Quran. Unfortunately he did not actually write one though I bet it would be soooo terrible and funny. But we will read the Quran.
96. Art of the Deal - Donald Trump. Time to find out why people respected this guy.

But once they warm up to each respective character, they’re a lot more chatty and playful, and once they start dating they turn out to be a total cuddle-bug who loves giving and receiving affection, and will even purr softly sometimes.... Im very soft for this stuff man ;w;

Cat-Like Reader
Kazuha is a traveler. He's met all kinds of people, and he wouldn't be shocked by seeing someone with cat-like features.
Kazuha wouldn't make a big out of it and treat you just like he would anyone else.
He would immediately notice how reserved you are and take his time getting to know you.
Once he started breaking through your shell and seeing how playful and chatty you could be, the two of you started getting close.
Only then would he ask more questions about things like your ears and tail.

anyways while i procrastinate the next chapter of my smau. here's what i think i would consider my top 10 favourite movies i WATCHED in 2023. they may not have come out this year. and it might be a rewatch but like i saw them this year. ok yeah. keep in mind im a simple silly girl i honestly don't consume much content that isn't related to my hyperfixes sooo i do miss a lot of movies el oh el. anyways !!

1. spiderman: into the spiderverse. i'm sorry to say i didn't get to see across the spiderverse yet. also this was a rewatch i'm not that late to this movie. but. DUDE. genuinely what i'd consider my favourite movie. of all time. the graphics? literally gorgeous. ugh. i could go on about this movie for ages. it really did change animation if you ask me (a non professional teenage girl) but like ?? the story oh my god i loved the idea. and miles was such a Person. he was so real. oh they did such a good job on miles and gwen and stuff. just like. they were so real to me. i love them so bad this film genuinely had an indescribable effect on me. also i ADORE the soundtrack <3
2. oppenheimer. like. okay i know people complained it was too long. and i get that but also i genuinely would watch like. another hour of that film. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY?? dude it was amazing. i genuinely loved oppenheimer ough it was such an Experience. especially because i went into it thinking i wouldn't enjoy it very much? yeah i was dead wrong. LOVED that film.
3. top gun: maverick. this did come out 2022. which feels crazy i swear it was this year. but i know it was '22 because i rewatched it this year STILL HITS THE SAME !! i genuinely love this movie so fucking bad! the characters were so fun. and i liked how like? despite the established lore that's obviously shown in the film it has a very open new-audience entry point (idk what else to call it ?!?!) because i didn't watch the original top gun but i honestly think i understood like. basically everything in the film. maybe i missed some like nuanced ideas bc they were like linked to the first top gun but other than that it's good as a standalone too and! i value that. it's a great film.
4. blue beetle. i don't know if this film was like. Objectively this good? but i have a few reasons. firstly, i'll admit i'm biased and i just like blue beetle. i love jaime reyes !! so i was super excited to hear there was a blue beetle movie. secondly, i loved the acting. the cast wasn't all that big? not that it was small, or anything, but it might've felt that way bc most of the characters were jaime's family. but. like? they did so incredibly well. it was a Generic Superhero Movie tbh. like, half-assed romance, character's family member dies (will not spoil who though! soz for the half-spoiler) and all that? but. OUGH. beautiful film like the premise was pretty interesting as a blue beetle origin story and i loved the acting it was just. yeah. i loved this movie so so much.
5. transformers: rise of the beasts. i didn't think i'd like this one as much as i did when i watched it. like i really did not. BUT? oh my god it was good. i loved bumblebee !! like okay i know he had his own movie with the reboot but i haven't seen it so. ya. but like also? i really loved the humans. they felt like such People to me? i love them dearly yeah this was actually such a banger movie. 10/10 would recommend!
6. the lego ninjago movie. now. i know a lot of people hated this film. from what i heard back when it came out anyways. and i remember shitting on it too back then but? i genuinely liked it when i rewatched it. it's an enjoyable film. i personally am actually a big fan of the redesigns ?? i like the new designs i like how they put them into the show (even if i'm like. not up to date. at all. sawry!) and i liked the whole high-school thing i thought it was a cute little au. and ?? i know it was very unserious but like. that's by design. i liked it like sometimes you really just shouldn't take it so seriously TEE BEE AYCH !! but maybe that's just me.
7. enola holmes 2. oh my god I LOVED THIS ?! i honestly found the first movie like. a little boring in terms of rewatchability? and i remember liking this film but i rewatched it again and like oh this one was so cool. the match girls strike thing was actually really interesting to me! i didn't know about that so it was pretty cool to learn that. AND? THE ROMANCE? "it means i love you" let me ouuuuuttt oh my god !!!! yeah i loved this movie honestly.
8. a whisper of the heart. honestly i'm kind of late to the ghibli scene </3 I DID SEE THIS BEFORE THOUGH THIS IS A REWATCH but i love this film too much to not mention it. ough. i love a whisper of the heart !! it's so cute and i just love the characters so bad !!!
9. baby shark's big movie! is this on the list only because enhypen was in it. yes. okay no not actually lmao but! it was a factor! like okay. HEAR ME OUT !! it gave me equestria girls vibes! my girlfriend told me never to compare baby shark to EQUESTRIA GIRLS but like. i will speak my truth ! the whole thing was just. silly! like yeah it was a little boring at times and i agree with my gf because nothing beats equestria girls (which i sadly didn't see at all last year. nor descendants but if i had they'd have made the list for sure!) but i genuinely did enjoy this one. it's the truth!
10. drive. i know someone's going to be confused but my brother made me watch it and like. man i genuinely liked it okay 😭 it was a fun watch? that's rlly all there is to it i thought it was funny how he never had a name and is literally called "driver" in the credits. it's hilarious. and like. ryan gosling. yk? and i'll be honest i was running out of movies i saw last year that i actually like. remembered. because i have shit memory and i don't think i saw anything All That Life Changing below like the 8th movie so idk.
bonus: a little list of movies that i might've been interested in but i didn't get to watch last year. just in case one of your favs (or popular slash mainstream movies you've heard of) didn't make the list and you're wondering why. barbie, across the spiderverse (watching soon i swear !), guardians of the galaxy 3, teenage mutant ninja turtles, aquaman and the lost kingdom, anyone but you (i plan to watch it with friends soon!), the boy and the heron, the super mario bros movie, five night's at freddys, and i'm sure theres more but i forgot so yeah.

hello!!! i think i got close to shifting the night!!! for the last 3 nights ive been trying some methods whether it be stuff i found on tumblr or guides methods on spotify. but none of them seems to be my thing, as after a while i get real awake and struggle to fall asleep as well as get bored. last night i decided to simply listen to powerful shifting subliminals before sleeping and during it. the day before i had read that i don't actually need a method or anything just simply my intention would be enough and ngl i'm a bit lazy but i just wanna wake up in my dr so bad🙏🙏 during it i said some affirmations then slept but woke up afterwards(it was a 2 hour video) and i couldn't sleep back. people in the comments were saying they have shifted to this regardless of if they have used a method or not. i laid awake for like 20 mins and then finnaly decide to close to video when there was like 10 mins before it was gonna end and decided to do some stuff to make me sleepy(it was 3 am) i don't really have a script but only something that is for security. i merely imagined things in my head, even something big as who my friends gonna be, where i will live etc or just said then simply in my mind, unable to find something for them and just see them once i'm in my dr. i hope this is enough?? bc im really not good at visualizing i can only think of certain actions happening that's why i hate methods too i'm unable to do them properly. anyway when i was finnaly sleepy,i found a powerful subliminal on spotify that is 1 hour long, simply said stuff like "i am in my dr, i will wake up in my dr, i have the intention to wake up in my dr" a couple times and tried to imagine myself sleeping there. the thing is i didn't change almost anything about myself so since it's very much the same as me now i cannot see my dr self any different than me. nevertheless, very close to me falling asleep, i felt like i was my dr self!! kept my eyes closed, i didn't feel anything physical but only felt as if i was truly in my dr sleeping there. and i had such a blank dream, literally no one or anything, just pitch black where i felt myself as if i was my dr self again. unfortunately i woke up here but i think this is a big sign?? and just one more little thing,, as i said i didn't script but i want some very general event to happen such as getting into the school i want, getting married, going on vacations etc but i don't really have a visualtion of my mind but rather things that will happen there, thats enough for them to happen write? i really don't like writing scripts if anything ill just add there. anyway, so sorry for writing such a long paragraph and i hope i made sense(english isn't my first language😖) and can you guide me a bit!! have a lovely dayyyyy<33

As you saw last night, our intentions are enough to let things happen! If you want to check if they happen, if you have a specific scene in mind, I suggest you have a list with a keyword connected to that scene so when it happens, you will know!
Ex: I want Fred Weasly to ask me out on a date. Keyword: date night scene.
Some general things I can suggest you do are: use YouTube instead of Spotify. On YouTube, you will find 10-hour-long videos with affirmations and non-affirmations.
I use brown sounds to fall asleep, but I found 10 hours of subliminals about abondance. I dont see why there could not be a subliminal for shifting.
BTW, keep going like this! You are not forced to use a method, and for sure, you don't need one because you are powerful enough to do it! I will be here! I am waiting to know your progress and celebrate your achievements with you.

Oh Stars, where do I begin?
The server of the competition is full of so many creators, many of whom I have never met or known of their AUs before(I'm still quite new to the fandom), and it's been great engaging with all of them!
I can't list every single AU I wanna learn more about, there's too many!
I'm very intrigued by Aberration by probablynotarutabega whom I'm going up against in the coming bracket, and I literally spent some time today reading what they have available so I could get to know it better! I hope we're at least able to team up!
There's also the Revelations Timeline AU by idk im just here now who has a really cool insight into how the Krang and the magic system works in their AU! I'd like to say we've become friends over this little time
Of course I have to talk up some of my friends AUs!
Minecraft Isekaid by songdrop (who has teamed up with Mitosis by Varian_dislikes_cheese) is a really cool AU about the rise boys getting stuck in Minecraft but as they explore things are not quite how they know. They're incredibly talented at art and storytelling and have so many ideas it's absolutely insane!
There's also the Soulmates(Evil) AU by Evan that's heavy Mikey angst and it's wonderful to see the other characters beating up MeatSweats
Oh dear this is gonna be long isn't it ehe. There's just too many to count!
The Employees is done by multiple folks and follows a collective of OCs that work for Senior Hueso
Minor Interference by bambiraptorx is on my To Read list where the turtles accept Draxum's offer of training with him
As for ones that are not in the competition I have many suggestions:
Clean up Crew also by songdrop, a small fic that's part of his like, 6 AUs in one universe the guy's an idea machine!
I discovered A Mirror's Reflection by ratsistryingtheirbest here on Tumblr as just a "what if" post and I may or may not have sort of dared them into making it. And it's really good! A rise Future AU where Leo, Mikey, and CJ are sent to another reality post-apocalypse where their brothers survived. And won the war.
The Nexus Heir by ItzCoffee is a fun AU where Leo gets manipulated into Big Mama's care
I'm not particularly one for fics that have romance/shipping or the Next Generation trope, but Little Warrior by NovelistServant is a proud exception for me. This is an AU where Future Raph gets sent back in time with a baby CJ and things sure do happen. Prepare to cry, prepare to laugh, prepare to cry again but happy this time. I've read it twice
A Tale of Spirits by unorthodoxx recently updated and I'm so excited with where the story is going. You like turtles? You like ATLA? You're gonna like this one
And last but certainly not least, I'd be remiss if I didn't shameless plug my own AU: Remember Forever. I've written plenty of stories before but this is my first fanfiction and it's the longest project I've had so far. It's a post-season 2 pre-movie rise AU where Mikey discovers an alien(that is definitely not my self-insert) and shenanigans ensue. You can of course learn more at my masterpost which is pinned on my blog and by giving it a read! I'm trying my best to write some fluff while also acknowledging that these characters have Gone Through Things.

OK SURE! *glass shattering sound*
(Some of these are not "headcanons" or are technically implied to be canon but im just going to list all of my specific perceptions regarding the character)
Long list down bellow. vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
-Dave and Jack both have adhdtism and borderline personality disorder.
(((I also want to use this opportunity to apologize for any previous ignorance/rudeness i may have responded with before I'm a bitch but erm I am improving. so yeh also yeah i can definitely see Jack being autistic now too which i know i said i dont really see. it turns out my symptoms i projected onto him were also autistic symptoms so um...)))
-Jack is a dog person, Dave doesnt have an animal prefrence but dogs suit him the best because he's dependent and sensitive and dogs love unconditionally, Henry has no feelings about animals however he dislikes dogs in particular.
-Henry likes cartoon bears the best though. only cartoon versions.
-I imagine Dave as a child wasn't necessarily BULLIED by other orphans but he was treated poorly and excluded. Adult carers would try to befriend him but he was a "problem child" as a kid and didn't comprehend human boundaries (he never learned) so he made adults uncomfortable too.
-I stole this one but if Dave was a cat he'd be a lykoi. henry would be a maine coon (jack is a default shorthair but i give him folded ears sometimes for fun)
-My Dave was born purple (and also Henry is born pink) for reasons similar to Doggo's "why is henry's eyes evil" explanation. It's just different ways of their "evil" manifesting -- Dave's eyes are normal as a child however because obviously he isnt "evil" as a child, I imagine his soul is just weird and that he's never been fully normal.
(because I'm not a fan of "x character if bad thing never happened" worlds where the character is basically just a normal person. Like its just more interesting if they were always an outcast/unusual from birth. Also it just makes more sense for Dave's character since he is never shown to be normal in any way even in the flipside LOL....also because Dave is often described as "not exactly human")
-Henry however just quickly grew to be jaded and resentful of anyone and anything living. Either from his dad or just that being his personality (but I prefer both). He wasn't outcast and he got along with people when he felt like it but he just hated everyone.
-However I imagine Henry always had a childish side to him that enjoys more cartoon artistry and performance.
-Henry and Dave gesture similarly when expressing excitement/enthusiasm, though Henry gestures very little most of the time. Henry either expresses exaggeratedly and cartoonishly (but comes across condescending) or not at all.
-Jack likes to watch TV but Dave does not and finds sitting still and watching pictures on a screen boring. (Though certain movies/shows are an exception)
-Back when Dave still had simple desires/pleasures (before the lobotomy) he always wanted to have a pet but animals always hated him (because he didn't know how to handle them gently).
-Henry has no romantic or sexual desires whatsoever. He had a wife and child simply because Martha confidently expressed interest on him and he decided to lie to her. The only motive really involved was the societal standard of having a family/having a kid to continue his legacy (but henry didn't really need that to spread his didnt he lol..)
-Alongside that Dave is pansexual and Jack is bisexual (with a prefrence to men) but those are obvious
-Dave appears stiff however can contort his body disturbingly (flexible), Jack is normal and appears in great condition for a corpse... (mostly due to makeup (nail polish emoji))

Let's start with some Dabi fics.
I am absolutely obsessed with the Us series by @nohoney these days. All of their work is amazing, but this Dabi x Reader x Hawks series especially is just such a poignant, compelling, and (at time frighteningly) accurate representation of toxic relationships, depression, and drug use.
Loveless by Clashgirl07 is an amazing slow-burn with a really exciting and well-plotted AUish adventure. It still takes place in the hero world, but with a completely alternate story and timeline - SUPER fun! I can't even believe how talented this writer is for how young they are and I'm really excited to see what else they put out in the future.
oh you pretty thing and a bad day by an Anonymous writer who I would literally DIE to read more work by are so gd good. Very sexy and compelling mean Dabi x Reader x Shigaraki dubcon/noncon.
And now for fics and authors that are not Dabi-centric, but that I can never NOT recommend.
@shig-a-shig-ah has a really lovely Dabi one-shot, Full Circle. But the majority of their content is Shigaraki-centric and HOLY SHIT are they just a master at it. Addicted to Bad Ideas (In-Progress) and Paper Skin (Complete) are absolute masterpieces, and I'm also a particular fan of their one-shots Tutelage and Assistance - two noncon voyeur fics guest-starring All for One and Redestro respectively.
@nonobadcat also writes a lot of amazing villain content - including multi-chapter fics for underwritten characters like Mr. Compress and All for One. Their Shigaraki long fic A Taste of Your Own Venom is so well-plotted and has such an interesting MC, and it's currently left off in a really satisfying place. ^_^ A Blistering Affection is some A+ yandere Chisaki too.
GRIEFING by rotworld is the quintessential Shigaraki fic. It hasn't been updated since 2020, but I think it leaves off in a decently satisfying place and is always worth a reread imo.
[[save scum]] by @feral-creep is another masterpiece (damn, all you Shiggy stans are so talented xD). Super unique concept, great MC, and the beginnings of some sweet Dabi/Reader/Shigaraki action.
The Danger Next Door by @ratmonky is freaking chilling. AU Stalker!Shigaraki where they actually still have quirks! I'm not sure if they're planning on finishing this, but god, it's so compelling and creepy that I think it's definitely worth a read regardless.
That's what I got for now! There are so many stupidly talented writers in this fandom, particularly in our lovely little villain corner so this list is definitely not exhaustive, but I hope this gives you some fun new reads in the meantime!

summary: the killer is revealed, but Colin found something in room 64 in the Cortez that might twist the whole case. What happened in room 64? What did Colin see?

Thursday, two days ago 01:19 am
Location: Marie and Bernard Allen’s residence
“What did you see, Adelaide?” Colin asked carefully and the little girl in front of him looked up at the sky for a few seconds before answering. “I heard the ice cream song. I looked outside and saw a big car with ice cream on it. A clown was driving it. I love clowns.” She explained before rubbing her eyes. “Were you the ice cream man?”
Colin flipped to the new page of his notebook.
“Can you maybe describe him for me?”
She looked up and placed her index finger on her chin. In the meantime, he grabbed a recording device and started recording. “He wore a black jacket, and his head was gray. He had multiple heads. One face was happy and another face was sad. I don’t remember what the other two faces were. Oh, and all the faces had really long noses!” She giggled and Colin wrote everything she said on his notes. “He also wore a funny black hat.”
“Anything else you noticed?”
“Nope.” she placed emphasis on the p. She then yawned “Grandma, to be honest I am kind of tired, can I get ice cream tomorrow? Please?”
“I know sweetheart. And yes of course, we’re gonna get ice cream tomorrow.” The woman looked at Colin before he nodded at her, giving her a signal that he was done here. “If your granddaughter in any way remembers something else, something she left out just now, can you call me? It could be the smallest detail, if you hear anything, please contact me.” He handed the woman a card and she nodded.
Colin then walked back to the house.
“Janssen,” Colin walked up to the perimeter. “I got a witness mentioning something about a clown, she described it for me, maybe we can make a sketch and see if people recognize it. Someone had to have bought it somewhere.”
“Alright, send the description over and we’ll look at it. I can see if we can get a composite sketch,” Janssen patted Colin on his back “Great work detective. There isn't anything you can do at the moment, so why don't you go home and rest.”
“Alright, I’ll go through the files tomorrow. I can see if there are any more witnesses and I can thoroughly see if there are any correlations with the previous case.” Colin remembered the two invitations to the Hotel Cortez that were in the living rooms of the previous victims. Maybe Marie and Bernard also had an invitation somewhere. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a partern.
“I’ll call you when I have the results of the CLA, we’ll find a match of the DNA found and then we can look further into it. Send me the description of the clown’s mask and I’ll call someone to make a sketch.” Janssen walked back to the crime scene and Colin grabbed his notebook again.

Saturday, present time, 10:12 pm
location: the Hotel Cortez
After you showed Colin the list, you and he made eye contact for a brief moment. It didn't take long for you to know you were on the same page. You had to rush to Alma Irwin. You had to make sure she was alright, but you feared the worst.
Colin took your hand and together you ran through the halls of the Cortez once again. Your heart was beating erratically and there was sweat evident on your forehead. Your feet hurt like hell from the stilettos you were wearing, and after meters running, you stopped Colin. He shot you a look of question before you gestured to him to wait a minute.
After you crouched down to take off your heels, you adjusted the hair in your face, and you grabbed Colin’s hand again.
You decided to take the stairs, and when you reached the ground floor, you saw James March stopped talking to a man. He glanced at you and Colin who ran to the lobby, and you took one last look behind you before you ran outside. You could see in your last glance that James pressed his lips together in a thin line. He didn't look happy, sad or angry. He just looked. You were afraid for a second that he knew you had the guest list in your bag.
As the cold breeze hit your skin outside, you and Colin ran through the dark streets away from the Cortez, and a few people who were on an evening stroll raised an eyebrow at your dress and Colin's suit. However, you didn't care. You had to be as fast as possible. You were basically flying towards Colin's car.
“I know where Alma lives.” You said as you got into the passenger's seat, and Colin started the ignition. “She and her boyfriend own the Woodall Gasoline, a tankstation and auto repair shop. It’s near the edge of Brookfield Heights. I crashed my car into a traffic sign while trying to parallel park like a week ago. I went there just to get it fixed, my car is still there.”
“Alright, lead the way Miss Goode.” You typed the address of Alma and her boyfriend Kit's residence on the navigation and you tapped your foot onto the floor of the car. You were stressed as hell, since you knew Alma. Deep down you hoped that the list had it wrong, but after checking again for the 100th time, everything stayed the same. Alma was the only one who didn't show up and has an I as first letter of her last name. You tried to convince yourself that she may have canceled because she had the flu or something, but deep down a nasty feeling crept upon you.
Colin rested his hand on your knee to stop it from trembling, and you made short eye contact with him before he focused back on to the road. You got shivers as his hand rested on your thigh, and you started breathing steady again. After a short while, he retrieved his hand back to the steering wheel.
“The cops are on their way to the Cortez.” Colin spoke and his hands gripped the wheel tightly. His knuckles turned white. You frowned. “What? Why? What happened?”
“I went to room 64.”
“What did you see?”
Colin didn't answer, instead he clenched his jaws and seemed to be thinking long and hard. “Colin, what did you see in room 64?”
Colin didn't answer again, instead, he gulped and his adam’s apple wobbled. “I don’t know exactly, I’m still trying to process what I saw.” You could see he was visibly tense. His eyes darted nervously around, and you knew that you should leave it to him for now. He would tell you once he felt comfortable. It obviously bothered him. Seeing the reaction of Colin’s face by only asking what he saw, made you believe that it must have been something really serious. Whatever he saw in room 64 was enough to call the cops.
It felt weird knowing that the police would arrive at the Cortez soon. It was the opening week full of elites in the Hotel. Police infiltrating the place definitely did not look good.
What could he have seen in room 64?
After thirty minutes of driving, you neared the edge of Brookfield Heights. Alma’s home was in sight, and as Colin parked in front of Alma’s car in the driveway, you saw that there were no lights on in the home. It was nearing 11 pm, and it was already pitch black outside.
“Stay behind me.” Colin said as he approached the house. He’d rather have you stay back in the car, but he wanted to keep an eye out on you. Yes he knew that you could handle yourself easily, but he was carrying a weapon at the moment. He could protect you with it, and he’d be damned if he let you stay in the car if something serious really was happening.
Colin reached for his side, and when you saw the lantern illuminate it the slightest, you quickly realized it was a gun. You gulped at the sight. It wasn't like you’ve never seen a gun before, but seeing it again after so many years made you nervous as hell.
You didn't know if you were supposed to feel safer because of it, or more scared.
When you reached the front door, you saw that the door was ajar, and you stayed behind Colin as he pushed it open carefully. Your legs were kind of wobbly but you remained steady. “Alma?” he questioned. No answer.
“Ms Irwin?” still no answer. You two stood there for about five minutes before Colin walked into the house.
Everything was dark, and as you walked further, you saw a light coming from the kitchen and you heard soft music. Colin approached it slowly with his gun in his hands. Once you and Colin rounded the corner, you saw nothing out of the ordinary.
TRING
You almost got a heart attack as Colin’s phone buzzed. Someone was calling him. Colin quickly declined the call. Luckily nothing was happening, and everything looked normal.
That’s until you looked down and were met with the horrendous sight of a man crouching over something. The thing that stood out was that a puddle of crimson liquid surrounded the thing lying beneath the man, and your eyes widened.
Colin immediately held out his arm in a protective manner to shield you from the man, and he raised his gun. “Hands in the air, turn around slowly.”
The man slowly stood up with his back turned against you, and when he slowly turned around, his hands were covered with blood and his face was contorted in pure fear. You recognized him as the boyfriend of Alma, the one who was gonna fix your car. “It's not what it looks like. I saw her like this. I swear." He had a Boston accent and his words were slurred out.
When he didn't block the thing he was crouching down to, you saw what it actually was. It was a body. Not just some body, it was the body of Alma Irwin. You had spoken to her last week with her and you got a nasty taste in your mouth. You immediately covered your mouth with your hand and your eyes went wide.
“Hands where I can see them,” Colin stated clearly and the man on the ground began sobbing. “Please, it isn’t what it looks like.”
Colin still aimed the gun at him, and he grabbed his phone to call for backup. However, when he looked at his screen, he saw he got a text message from Janssen.
Got a call from the CLA, forensics examiner Anya Lewis. Call me ASAP, it’s urgent. We found a DNA match from the Bernard’s house
Colin immediately called Janssen back and still watched the man closely.
“Colin, we found traces of fingerprints at Marie and Bernard’s place, it matches the fingerprints of Kit Walker, the boyfriend of Alma Irwin. The cops are on their way, where are you?”
“I’m already here.”
Colin eyed you for a second before he looked at Kit Walker who looked like a scared puppy. He then lowered his phone.
“I didn't do it.” Kit let out in a silent sob.
Your eyes were still on the corpse of Alma.
You didn't know her that well, but you had small talk with her last week. It felt weird knowing that she was gone, murdered by the person standing in front of you.
It felt like you were standing there for eternity.
All you remembered was the room lighting up in blue and red lights through the windows, and the vague sounds of police cars. It felt like you were underwater. Like you couldn't breathe. The next thing you knew was three officers walking into the room and taking Kit with them. Kit looked back at his wife on the ground, and it looked like his heart shattered to pieces. He then glanced back at you and Colib, before he disappeared behind the corner.
"Are you alright?" Colin asked, his voice laced with concern. He held your arms steady so you wouldn't fall.
"Yeah, I'm- I'm fine." you looked him in the eyes and you gulped.
He held you closer in his arms and he then noticed you were trembling. He took off his black coat and hung it over your bare shoulders. It was too big, but it was comfortable and warm. You sank into the warm feeling of the jackwt. Colin was now only left with his white blouse, and it hugged his upper body perfectly. However, your eyes were still set on Alma, and you couldn't help but feel guilty. The goal was to prevent this from happening, but you were too late. Too late to save Alma.
"Y/n," You turned to look at Colin and he saw your eyes were glossy. "Let me take you home, it's been a long night."
You nodded, and he supported you by placing an arm around your waist and walking you outside. You still wore your dress and heels, and you saw multiple police officers look up at the two of you. It was kind of odd that two people dressed in attire were leaving the murder scene.

You opened your front door and stepped inside. As soon as the cold air left your skin, you could finally let out a sigh of relief. What a night this had been. You had attended an elite opening of the Hotel previously owned by your parents, you had stolen the guest list from the woman you helped become who she really is, you had been the first to step foot on the crime scene together with Colin, and you saw the person that was going to fix your car crouched over his girlfriend’s dead corpse.
Saying you were tired was an understatement.
You dropped your bag on the kitchen counter, and you looked outside the window to see Colin drive away. After he brought you home, he was called back to the crime scene, and he promised to call you tomorrow morning. He said that for now you needed to rest.
The weirdest feeling was knowing that you two had catched the killer. Something just felt weird about everything. It felt too easy. This person was too smart to just leave DNA at the previous crime scene, since there was no DNA found at the other crime scenes, and it felt really convenient that you two had gotten to the crime scene at the perfect time.
However, you didn't question it any further. It had to have been Kit. You didn't know the motive, but you knew that one person could be driven to madness fairly easily.
You walked upstairs with your heels in your hands, and your body ached for a warm bath. When you reached the first floor, you saw both Zoe’s door and Violet’s door were closed. You decided to enter Zoe’s door first, and when you opened the door a little, you saw that all the lights were out and that she lay in her bed. You heard her soft snores, and you closed the door again. You then moved to the other side of the hall.
When you walked to Violet’s door and opened it, you saw that her lights were on. She was seated next to her window with her cigarette in hand. For some reason however, you weren't mad. Usually, you'd scold her for lying to you, but at the moment you were too tired to start an argument.
Violet looked startled when she heard the door open and saw you standing in the doorway, and she tried to hide the cigarette. “It’s not what it looks like.”

The words that rolled out of her mouth were the same words of Kit, and it replayed in your head as you visioned him towering over Alma’s body. The way crimson as red as the color of your dress painted his face. It was a horrendous sight. When you closed your eyes, that was your only vision.
You stood there for a split second before walking into the room. Violet was scared of you, but as you stood in front of her, you held out your hand.
“Hand me the cigarette.”
She slowly reached her hand up to give you her cigarette, and she expected you to throw it out of the window again. However, once you had the cigarette in your fingers, you placed it between your lips. You inhaled and closed your eyes.
Violet was absolutely baffled to see you smoking in front of her. She had so many questions.
Even though so many questions had been answered tonight, it didn't feel satisfying at all. You knew that the killer finally got caught, the police were at the crime scene AND at the Hotel Cortez, but you couldn't help but feel like something wasn’t right.
You just couldn't help but wonder what Colin saw when he was searching for physical evidence while you were in room 53 with Liz. It must have been something big and serious, since he called the police.
So what the hell happened in room 64?

location: the Hotel Cortez
“You’re a good person, Detective.” you gave him a smile and he looked at the ground. Hearing those words come out of your mouth was different than when other people say it. Everything that came out of your mouth just seemed majestic.
“Now let’s get this list and figure out who the next target is, before we’re too late. I’ll go to room 53”
“Alright, in the meantime I’ll look around to see if there is anything suspicious in the hotel. There has to be some sort of physical evidence.”
“Okay, I’ll call you when I get the list.”
Even though he only knew you for a few days. He felt drawn to you, you had this aura that attracted him. He was intoxicated by your presence and he somehow felt like he knew you for years.
That's the reason why he wanted you to be safe. He trusted you, yes. It were others that he didn't trust.
Before you could walk away, he grabbed your hand and pulled you back. His touch was like velvet silk and you looked at your intertwined hands.
“Please, Y/n. I know you can handle yourself but I… I…” he didn't finish his sentence. “Just be careful, not everyone is as nice as they seem.”
“I know, I’ll be careful.” you gave him a smile, a smile he adores. “You too, stay safe.”
Colin nodded “I will. See you soon.”
As he saw you leave for the elevator, Colin thought about where he could look first. He scanned the room with his eyes and he saw James March already returned from whatever Iris asked him. He didn't like James one bit. Colin was usually the person to give people the benefit of the doubt, but after James slipped out information that hadn't been released to the public yet, he felt weird about him. Especially when James flirted with you in front of him. Okay, you and him didn't date, but James didn't know that. And still he had the nerve to kiss your hand in front of Colin. The problem was that Colin didn't know if it was just James' charm or because he was taunting him.
James looked angry about something as he was talking to a woman with platinum blonde hair. He seemed to be in some kind of argument with her, and as Colin narrowed his eyes, James suddenly looked his way. Colin immediately turned to look at something else and cursed under his breath.
His head snapped the wrong way, however, since he was now looking at a lone woman who stood next to the bar. She eyed him, and when she saw he made eye contact, she made her way over to him. Colin cursed again as he quickly glanced away again.
He suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder and a presence next to him.
“Hello, Mr. My-date-ditched-me.” She tried to joke but Colin didn't know if she was serious or not. “In need of a companion?”
Colin didn't give her attention and instead looked at the vacant spot where James just stood. It was almost as if he could teleport.
“No, sorry.” he mumbled and she clicked her tongue. “That’s a shame, a handsome man like you shouldn't be alone on a gorgeous evening like this in a beautiful place.” Colin didn't know what to say to that. “I don't have any money.” Colin referred to the other men who were loaded.
She laughed at that like it was the funniest joke in the world and she ran her fingers on his chest. Colin felt uncomfortable. Sure, she was pretty, but she wasn't you. And the way she acted made him feel kind of weirded out.
“Excuse me.” he said as he tried to pry her off of him and he heard her scoff. However, that was the least of his worries, since he now had to search for James March.
After Colin lost sight of James he just decided to look for anything suspicious. Anything that was out of the ordinary. Colin was walking through the endless halls of the Cortez as he tried to find something. He didn't know anything of how the Cortez was structured, and so he cursed under his breath that you and him split up. If you were there with him, you could've shown the way. It felt like he was lost in the halls, as if the walls were eating him up.
A nasty feeling crept up on him when he thought about you in room 53. Should he have left you there alone? Again, he knew you could handle yourself, but he just wanted you safe.
That’s when he suddenly heard the deep voice of James, and Colin stopped in his tracks and stepped back to stand behind the corner to be out of sight. When Colin peeked, he saw James enter a room. It was room number 64.
Colin stayed put behind the corner of the hall. He heard nothing, and when he stood there for several minutes, he sighed. He was aout to walk back, but he stopped again in his track as he heard the door open. He peeked again and saw James marching outside of the room with his phone against his ear. He seemed angry and annoyed again, and he walked through the halls as his voice raised.
When his back was facing Colin, Colin tiptoed to room 64 and just when the door was about to close, he slipped inside.
Compared to the hallways, it was really cold inside of room 64. It was clear that it was the room of James March, since there was a photograph on the small table against the wall, that showed James standing next to the Cortez while it was still being built. Colin saw more photographs of James on the wall. There were only pictures of him in suit. When Colin looked around once more, the right side of the room looked a bit like an office. There was a laptop and papers on the desk and a bookshelf on his left.
Colin didn't see anything out of the ordinary, and he was afraid that James could be back any minute. He unfortunately didn't have any success, so he hoped that you had more luck.
He leaned against the desk and tapped his foot, and when he stood up, he knocked the cup that stood tall on the desk behind him. He cursed as his reflex tried to correct it, but he was too late. The cup fell down with the head towards the laptop. How was Colin gonna explain that coffee spilled on James' laptop?
However, when he widened his eyes, his scared expression turned intl a frown. No liquid came out of the cup. Instead, the bookshelf on the left side opened.
“What the-” he muttered and he slowly moved to face the bookshelf. All he saw was black, until his head looked down. He saw a set of stairs and a light. With adrenaline running through his veins and his heart beating erratic, he slowly walked down the stairs.
How was this even possible? Why would there be some sort of basement in a hotel room?
Colin was faced with another big book shelf as he stood in the room, and as he made his way around it, he saw a brown couch in the center. There were some cabinets against the wall. On the right was a table with two chairs, and a well lit lamp, and in front of the couch was a tv. It looked kind of like a mancave.
Except, there was one thing that Colin immediately noticed when he walked down the stairs into this weird room. It was an object that caught his eye that lay on the small table in front of the tv.
He walked towards it and crouched down till his face was at level with the object. In the bright light of the lamp above him, he could clearly see what it was. However, his mind couldn't seem to comprehend it. It couldn't be real...
It was a mask, but not just some mask. It was A gray clown mask with four different face expressions and a long nose with a black hat.
Thursday, Colin had given the descriptions of the mask to Janssen, and he said to get an Composition sketch of the clown's mask, but he hadn't gotten word from Janssen. But staring at the clown's hat right now, made him 100% sure that this was the one the little girl was talking about. Colin stood there for a short while to take it all in, and he gripped the mask tightly. It was as if he was afraid that it would slip out of his fingers. It was as if he was afraid his mind was playing tricks on him. But no, this was solid matter in his hands.
He fisted his phone out of his pocket, and he then dialed the authorities. This was enough evidence to link James and the Cortez to the murders.
“My name is Detective Colin Zabel, I need immediate backup. I’m at the Hotel Cortez.”
Colin gulped and he started to feel really warm all of the sudden as he kept staring at the faces of the mask. The expression that looked at him was the sad face. His mouth was shaped in an U shape but downwards, and it looked menacing in this light. Was this the mask of James March? Was James the person in the ice cream truck?Colin scanned the mask, each of it's faces until his hands reached into the hat. He pulled out a strand of hair.
A strand of long, blue hair.
Colin carefully picked it up and looked around for some sort of bag. This was evidence that should be restored. He rushed to the cabinets that stood against the wall, and as he opened them one by one, he saw a box with ziplock bags.
Luck was on his side today.
He carefully laid the blue hair in the small bag, and placed the rest of the box back. He then placed the small bag in his pocket and scanned the room one more time. His eyes settled once again on the gray mask, and Colin felt weirded out. It looked so... disturbing. Could it he true that the person who wore this, killed Marie and Bernard, plus all the others? Why would someone get off on that?
Colin felt like the walls were shrinking. He didn't want to be here in this room any longer. He rushed upstairs and walked to the door of the hotel room. He'd wait for the authorities to arrive. That's when his phone buzzed. He shrieked at the sound. It wasn't that loud, but due to the previous silence, it was as if it was a bullet next to his ear. He looked at the screen and your caller ID was visible. He immediately pressed his phone against his ear and walked outside of room 64. He then heard you suddenly yell his name through the phone.
"Colin!"
Colin immediately stopped in his tracks. “Y/n? What’s wrong? Are you okay? Are you hurt?” He started walkinf through the halls with his phone to his ear.
“No, everything is fine, I just- I know who the next target is.”
“You saw the list?”
“Yeah, I’m on the second floor,”
“So am I.” Just as he said that, your figure appeared from behind the bordeaux walls, and you both stood in front of each other, about 5 meters away as you both lowered your phones.
Colin saw that you had the list in your hands and you then both ran towards each other to meet each other in the middle. He stopped in front of you and saw you were catching your breath. Your hands were placed on your knees and you breathed heavily “I know who the next victim will be.”
Colin's eyes widened “Who?”
“Alma,” you said “Alma Irwin.”
Colin’s heart beated erratically and he had his hand over the small bag in his pocket. In that bag was the blue strand of hair he found in the mask. He didn't know what he was gonna do, all he knew was that Alma was in danger. And so he grabbed your hand and together you ran away. He was going to get to the bottom of this.
Saturday, present time, 11:32 pm
location: Colin's car
After he had dropped you off at your house, Colin watched as you closed the door nehind you. He wanted to make sure you were safe inside before he'd drive off.
As he saw you stand in the kitchen, he grabbed the bag with the blue hair from his pocket. He couldn't help but wonder to whom it belonged to.
Whose hair was in the mask? Why was it blue? James and Kit certainly didn't have blue, long hair, so who could it possibly be? Colin didn't know what it meant. All he knew was that it couldn't be good.
Something just didn't make any sense about Kit being the killer. But then why was his DNA found at the previous crime scene? Was he being framed? It was plausible, but why would someone do that?
There were just so many questions with so little answers. Colin knew that they had enough evidence to claim Kit as their killer, but something deep down said that that wasn't right.
Colin tried to push those thoughts away but they kept resurfing. It was plaguing his mind and he rested his head against his steering wheel.
He knew that there was only one way to find out to whom the blue hair belonged to. He grabbed his phone, dialed a number that he hadn't called in ages, and he waited for a response. It was a woman he met the first day of his training as officer. A woman who worked as a Crime Laboratory Analyst. When he finally got her on the line, he cleared his throat.
"Hey, uhh it's Colin. I know it's been a while, but I need to ask you a favor."
"Holy shit, Colin fucking Zabel, It's been a long long time since I heard your voice," Colin heard her chuckle. "What kind of favor?"
"I need you to run something in the database." Colin stared at the blue hair in his hands, and the woman on the other side of the line clicked her tongue. "You know what, why not. It'll be just like the old days."

i've got like. five different books i'm in the middle of reading right now LOL they all scratch different itches. im going to try to read 52 books this year which seems like a lot but half of what i read are graphic novels so it's not that bad, im already ahead of schedule. maybe i'll post little blurbs on my thoughts as i finish each (would probably be a good brain exercise). "shelving" anything i don't plan on finishing any time soon.
At 30 I Realized I Had No Gender - a memoir by a 50 y/o intersex person living in japan. it's been interesting to see cultural similarities and differences, as well as a perspective from an older trans person, and is usually what i pick up when i want something lighter. it's fun to read just hasn't sunk its claws into my brain like some other books (including books i've read recently that i hated)
Akira Vol 1 - reading through the entire series this year. hasnt grabbed me quite the same way the movie did, i think because what got me obsessed (and i mean a literal obsession) with the movie was a lot of the mood set by music and artistic choices. sup early on, but again my hang up here is just that it hasnt hooked me emotionally so far
The Dispossessed - ok SORRY. im having trouble with this one. i havent read a lot of le guin, my main engagement with her work is omelas. still very early into this one, but the writing style feels very detached and reserved compared to omelas. i assume of course the voices for each piece were developed specifically for the needs of each, which are VERY different but idk. i hope it picks up, if it doesn't i'll try earthsea and if i don't like that le guin just may not be for me:/
goodnight punpun vol 1 - grabbed this on a whim at a local bookstore today, has been on my list for a LONG time. it's great so far as expected. i generally know that the story gets really dark, and seeing the tone i understand why people get so distinctly unsettled by it. excited to keep reading:) since this one has my attention the most right now it's my book of the week
capitalist realism is there no alternative - i have like one chapter of this left LOL. im awful about reading theory but im just trying to remember how to use me noggin right so i'll worry about nonfiction later. might finish this as a commute audiobook. would shelve this but since i have so little of it left i might as well try and finish it soon
house of leaves - i was so excited to read this last year when i decided to start reading again i picked it up immediately. unfortunately i am still regrowing the brain cells necessary to follow this competently for the time being. SHELVED!

(and a scorpio if that helps!!) i can be rather shy, anxious, and quiet but with people I love/m comfortable with Im much more open and lively (love my friends sm<3_<3) id say im generally empathetic, compassionate and caring with them to the best of my abilities ♡ i can also be a bit insecure, dependent, and in need of reassurance at times ,, but for the most part im rather content :D

♡likes- m about to yap i apologize. i love animals (pretty much all of them but bugs do often scare me BUT IM LEARNING TO LOVE EM I PROMISE), I love to cosplay and go to conventions with friends, I collect plushies and I have way too many,, d&d, video games (esp with friends,, league, dbd,, stardew,,pokemon), drawing!!, reading (fanfics...), being with my friends/family, listening to my friends talk about their interests!! and learning about their cultures, random but I really like godzilla and mothra (kaijus/dragons in general,,), anime (jjk, csm, op,samurai champloo)) and manga!!, random videogame documentaries (especially silent hill,,) a lot more but,, I hope this is enough!!

Like you he loves and cares about the people close to him, would die for them. Would understand you so well when you express your feelings about family and friends.
Being dependent is literally not a problem for him at all he want you to depend on him and come to him for everything. I do not think you’d ever be insecure with this man. Compliments you 24/7. If you are insecure reassures you immediately, probably sad that you feel that way.
Loves that you spend time with family, will definitely want to be around your family.

Hi~ Trans man putting in his two cents. The amount of customization and inclusivity is limited to the amount of coding you can do. It is a lot of work indeed, and is something you have to think about depending on the length of the story. You could have just have man/woman/nonbinary and add xe/xem pronoun besides they/them. Then goes cis and trans option, and something I saw in other IFs and think is a good idea, is putting a separate option for genitals right before the first intimate scene, otherwise I don't see the need of mention it in other context. Regarding trans options, is up to you to leave just "MC is trans" in a vague way or being incredibly specific and customized regarding hormones, surgery and other transition options. This again, will increase the coding work tenfold.
And since you say it's okay to give you recs, allow me to spam you with IFs (and authors) who has given people wonderful trans content/representation. It's not a complete list, just the ones that come to mind:

Hey guys I have a lot to say so bare with me !
> I really wanna do this one a little differently. I haven’t really decided on a love interest, I think it’d be fun if some of the guys have a crush on their new costar. So I’m just gonna write with no set intentions and just see where it goes. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or opinions!!! I do wanna say also Im going to base a lot of aspects off the movie but of course some things will be different. This will definitely be a multiple chapter fic as well :)) I’m super excited about this one I have a lot of ideas for it !!

“Hello?” You say answering your phone
“Y/n!” You heard the familiar voice of your manager Andrea say through the other line.
“No.” You respond attempting to hang up.
“Wait at least listen to what I have to say!” She yells out through the line causing you to roll your eyes.
“I told you before I’m a musician. Not a movie star.” You say growing more annoyed by the moment.
A week prior to this call you had talked to your manager about the same thing. It was shocking news when you first heard the jackass crew wanted you on their movie. She had said the guys heard your album that came out at the beginning of the year and they loved it. Apparently they would always like having guests on the show so they wanted to keep the same theme for the movie. That’s where you came into the picture.
“You don’t have to be the star! It’ll be a win for everyone. You’ll get more publicity, and plus everyone loves a tomboy right now.”
You choose to ignore the irritating description of you being a so called “tomboy”. You thought the whole term was ridiculous.
The two of you sit in silence for a moment before you hear her let out a long sigh. “This is a great opportunity for the both of us. Plus you would get to play pranks and just have a good time. You love to be a menace! God knows you terrorize me every chance you get.” She trails off
You thought it over the more she continued to list off good things that could come of this. You were nervous for a multitude of reasons. Did anyone really want a girl on jackass? But you also couldn’t help but wonder what your friends back home would think. So many other thoughts crossed your mind but you couldn’t listen to your manager rant anymore. You loved she really treated you like you were her daughter but god could she get on your nerves.
“And think about all the new experiences -“
“Ok alright! Christ, I’ll do it.” You say finally conceding. You had quickly come to the realization she really wasn’t going to let this go. So might as well just accept your inevitable fate right?
“Great! This is going to be perfect for you and your career you’ll see. We’ll be in touch, get some rest.”

After about a week or two, Andrea had called to let you know that you would start on set, Monday.
Today.
She had informed you that they had already started filming for the movie. But it was only about a week before, so you hadn’t missed much.
You were in your usual baggy attire, shades covering your bloodshot eyes from the lack of sleep the night before. You rested your elbow on the window of the car you were currently in. Sat in silence watching the everyday chaos of LA. Noticing a buzzing under your leg, you quickly realize you were getting a call. You grab it and instantly groan as Andrea’a name appeared on the tiny screen. You weren’t shocked though, if she wasn’t with you, you better believe she’s blowing up your phone.
“Yes Andrea?” You question with your fakest nice voice.
“How’s my little starlet doing?” She returns your question with one of her own. She was always so chipper.
“Tired.” It was already noon but you were still exhausted.
“Well perk up you’ve got a big day ahead of you. You’re on your way to the hotel the whole crew’s staying in. Today is going to consist mostly of meeting everyone and getting acquainted.” She had let you know the crew planned on traveling a lot for the film. You were excited about that aspect, so you were trying to embrace it. “Just go get checked into your hotel and we can talk more tomorrow.” She says surprisingly keeping the conversation brief.
“Oh and y/n?” She spoke up once more.
“Yeah?“ you respond curiously
“Please be nice.”
You almost get annoyed but decide now was not the time for arguing. “Goodbye Andrea.” You hang up the phone and ignore the prior question.
The drive wasn’t too far, about two hours from your apartment downtown. But with the traffic that was bound to happen, you were prepared for a much longer trip.
After zoning out to the blaring music in your ears you realized you were starving. Almost instantaneously you look out the window and notice a kind of run down gas station. There’s no where else for miles at this point, as you finally had made it out of the city. “Excuse me.”
You say leaning forward to the driver.
“Could we make a stop?” You question pointing to the gas station as your make eye contact in the rear view mirror. He simple nods his head and turns into the parking lot.
“I’ll be quick” you inform him running inside. You mentally kick yourself for choosing to rush, because you immediately crash into someone as you push the door open. “Woah dude.”
You scramble to pick up the things you just caused them to drop trying to be as discreet as possible. You realize they were much taller than you, now bending your next you are met with a dark headed guy staring back down at you. “I Uh sorry bout that.” You stutter scratching your head trying walk away quickly from this equation and just retrieve your snacks. “Wait aren’t you y/n?“ you feel the stranger tap you on the shoulder. You sigh not loud enough for him to hear, spinning around of the ball of your foot. “Yep” was all you respond with.
“No shit” he chuckles
“I’m steve-o I’m from jackass- we are I mean.” He says gesturing to his friends paying at the counter before sticking out his hand to shake yours. “I heard the guys were trying to get you on the movie. Is that where your heading?” He says keeping his voice low at the end of the question. “Uh yeah I am actually. Just grabbing some snacks, got a driver out front.” You say pointing your thumb behind you toward the parking lot.
“Who’s your new friend?” You hear one of his friends sing out as the come into view from behind him. “Yo, guys this is y/n!” He informs his friends way more excited than you expected.
“Oh. Oh!” One guy yells. The other doesn’t respond, his eyes just widen as he darts his eyes between you and his friends.
“This is Chris.” Steve-o says pointing to the first guy to speak. “Hey there.” He says in a flirty tone but you couldn’t tell if he was goofing around or serious.
“And this is Dave.” He says pointing to the blonde haired guys next to chris. “Hi.” He nods and waves awkwardly.
“He’s shy” chris says placing his hand on the wide eyes boys shoulder. “Fuck off dude.” He almost whines out flicking his hand off. You hold back a chuckle as you slowly step back trying to make your way to the candy isle.
You make small talk with the three while they follow behind as you continue picking out all your items. After paying and finally making it out of the store, You were now all stood outside the front of the gas station. “Hey you wanna ride with us? We have one extra seat.”
You knew everyone in the world, even a stranger would look at this situation and immediately say don’t get in the car with three boys you don’t know. You knew this but you couldn’t help but feel like they were good. And you felt like you kind of recognized chris from watching the show here and there. So that also made you feel a bit better too.
“Alright.” You shrug
You head over to let your driver know he no longer needs to take you to the destination. As well as grabbing your bags from the back. He didn’t seem to think much of it as he was gone rather quickly. The guys help you toss the two small suitcases into the bed of the truck. You follow them climbing into the large vehicle, as you were all back on the move.
“You better not murder me.” You laugh out as your get started down the road.
“Heh heh no promises.” Chris chuckled out from the driver seat.
“She’s totally gonna think we’re creeps dude stop.” Dave swats at him from the seat in the back next to you. “You like will not kill you. We don’t. Do… that.” He stuttered turning towards you.
“Very convincing job.” Steve-o croaks from the passenger side as the three of you laugh while Dave just sits there with a pout.
It was a weird situation sure but you had to admit this was the most fun you had in a while. You didn’t like to hang out with too many people in the city. All your friends were back home and the people in LA just didn’t know how to have a good time like them. Maybe that was a bad outlook but you never felt the need to change that.
Cigarette smoke filled the air as you and steve-o kept bumming them off each once you realized you both smoked. Not without gaining a few complaints and dramatic coughs from Dave. The music blared as you all continued just getting to know each other.
“Rapid round.” You yell over the loud bass of the stereo.
“Favorite color.”
“Blue.” “-Blue!” “Green” Dave, then chris and finally steve-o yell.
“Favorite foods?” You yell out another question
“Cheeseburgers!” Chris says smiling, you could tell he wanted a cheeseburger now.
“Mm beer” steve-o says gruffly
“Ehhh” You laugh making a loud buzzer noise before rolling your eyes. “Beer is not a food.”
“I would say a nice filet mignon, with buttery, garlic mashed potatoes on the side. Topped with sautéed mushrooms and a glass of red wine on the side.” Dave says detailing every aspect of his favorite meal
Everyone froze and stared at him for a moment for bursting out into laughter. “What?” He questions looking genuinely confused.
“Its just-“ you laugh unable to get the words out over your wheezing. “That just wasn’t what I was expecting.” You finally get out causing another uproar with the two in the front of the vehicle.
It had been about an hour ish since you had all left the gas station. The ride had been going a lot better than expected. It had been a long stretch of nothing, just dirt and mountains. By now you reaching a more populated area so you assumed you weren’t too far.
“Looks like we made it.” Chris says turning into the parking lot of a hotel. You all let out little cheers. Thankful to be getting on solid ground soon. While all the guys jump out excitedly, you stayed back for a moment taking a deep breath trying to gather yourself for whatever you were about to walk into.
You jump at sudden rapid loud tapping right by your ear. Looking up you realize it’s chris as he’s wondering why you haven’t got out. He opens the door for you as you grab all your belongings before sliding out. “What? You nervous?” He inquiries giggling as you notice Steve and Dave jump up in the bed of the truck to unload the luggage.
“Not at all.” You say shaking your head, smiling at him in response. He didn’t say anything back, he seemed a bit confused like he expected some kind of sassy response. The other two just laugh at his silence.
The four of you head inside the fancy hotel. You were kind of shocked how nice it was you, weren’t it expecting it at all. You all get your room keys and make your way upstairs. They must’ve requested the same floor for the crew, you had noticed all of your rooms were near each other.
While in the elevator, you all had planned to set your things down after finding your rooms then you would all go chill out in Knox’s room. That supposedly had been where everyone was for the time being. They informed you his room number before going to their rooms.
Down the long hall way you finally find your own hotel room. You unlock it quickly stumbling in, you immediate dropped your bags and melt into the bed. Laying there like a stone for a little while you reluctantly peel yourself from the soft mattress. You just now start actually taking in your surroundings and it’s so nice. You were pleasantly surprised and you also couldn’t wait to divulge the mini bar later.
You’re now making your way over to room 505 to officially meet everyone. You had to admit, even though you had said your weren’t nervous you couldn’t ignore the butterflies fluttering in your stomach.
Making your way back up the long hallway you hear laughter and yelling and can only presume it was the guys. The room numbers weren’t even necessary at this point, you could probably find them from a mile away. Approaching the door you hear steve-o’s voice loud and clear through the door. You assumed the three guys were already here and they were all just waiting for you. That didn’t help the nerves.
Right after taking a deep breath you knock loudly on the large wood door. “Guys we made a new friend today.” You heard chris’s now muffled voice say through the door.
“Aw man not this shit again.” You hear another muffled more southern sounding voice whine. Just as you hear that you knock three hard knocks, the room goes silent.
Suddenly the door flies open, slightly blowing your hair over your shoulder. You stand still as the room goes quiet. “Meet y/n!” Chris yells grabbing your hand and softly yanking you in. You weren’t sure how he knew it was you so fast but you forget about it quickly
The guys start cheering which definitely caught you off guard. You had assumed they knew you were coming but it seemed like they had no clue. Or maybe they just thought you wouldn’t show. “We’re all huge fans!” The first tall guys says as he approaches, shaking your hand quickly. You recognize him to be Johnny Knoxville. You smile and huff out a soft thank you. Even though you had been performing for 2 and a half years professionally you still often felt so awkward with direct compliments.
“Come in, we’re just chillin” steve-o says from the couch arms spread out across the back. He pat the couch cushion gesturing for you to sit. You plop onto the couch next to him after finally getting through the sea of random dudes.
“Hey y/n” Dave said as he sat on the corner of the other smaller couch.
“Hey.” You breath out smiling , raising your hand in a quick wave.
Him and the boy next to him snicker quietly, you weren’t sure why. It kind of felt weird like you were the cliche shiny new toy.
“Ok I’ll introduce everyone.” Steve-o says sitting up slapping his hands to his legs.
“That’s Johnny obviously.” He gestures to the taller guy stood just drinking a beer. He holds it up nodding his head in your direction.
“Wee-man, Preston, Ehren, Dave you met of course.” He says pointing to them with his own beer bottle in hand.
You just nod as he continues naming the multiple people in the large room. “And over there is Bam and Ryan.”
“Hey and me!” Chris yells coming into view falling onto the spot right next to you with two beers in hand.
“For you.” He says handing it to you with the cap already popped off. You take it thanking him.
“It’s nice to meet y’all” you respond to the previous introductions as you take a swig of your beverage.
The rest of the evening was pretty fun you all decided to just drink and hang out at the hotel. You were having a good time getting to know everyone.
“I have a great idea! Everybody tell me your favorite stunt you’ve done.” You drunkenly yelled at one point. Bam started and after that, they kept getting funnier and funnier. Or maybe you were getting drunker and drunker, but you didn’t care either way.
Now it was late and everyone was starting to head to bed. You stood up wobbly and out of it but we’re caught quickly before falling over. You realize it’s Johnny who seemed to be the least intoxicated for the night.
“Let me help you to your room.” He said in a low voice. You didn’t respond only nodded as you let him lead you out of the room by your arm. Every time you walked down the hall it seemed longer and this time was no different. You reached the door and started to fish for the key in your pocket. You find it and immediately drop it on the ground. “Dammit” you whined
Johnny just chuckled bending over to pick it up and unlocking the door for you. You look up to him through glossy eyes. “Such a gentleman.” was all you said patting the side of his face. He breathed out a quick laugh like he didn’t know what to make of that. “Goodnight.” He said as you slowly made your way inside. As soon as the door shut you instantly mentally kicking yourself. Why’d I do that? The thought didn’t linger long though as you were now knocked out on the bed.

Hello tahyal! How can I rewire my subconcious mind? This year I am really stepping into self discovery and spirituality more deeply and last week I realised I have so many limiting beliefs about myself.
Last week my brother's bestfriend, someone I liked a lot, got together with someone and that triggered so many things inside of me that I didnt even know were there. Unfortunately I took it hard, maybe because I've never experinced romance before, which also has been bothering me recently.
I look at his life and think I'll never have that many friends, I'll never have exciting experiences or I'll never find love or be intimate with anyone (Im a late bloomer, never had sex or had a boyfriend, Im 22 years🥲), I'll be stuck in my country living a mediocre life forever etc etc.
I noticed this pattern before and I realised I just dont have high hopes for myself in any regard and Im trying to change that this year. I need help feeling my feelings without ruminating, which I have been trying to do this week, I dont know if I have been very successful at it though. I experience anxiety and a lot of worrying which Im trying to work on as well. I thought I was doing better but that rocked me last week. I am willing to put in the work.
Do you have any messages or advice you can share with me? I know it's a lot, youre the only person Ive shared this with😭

Hi love! Its wonderful that you’re aware of this and are willing to shift your mindset, that’s already 40% of the work.
I’ll give you a list of videos, books, and people that I recommend you check out, get a journal and write down the things that spark something within, and get into the habit of being honest with yourself (you’re already on the right track I think), don’t be afraid to write down your exact feelings, take some time with yourself to figure out why you process things a certain way, why you have certain beliefs, where do they come from, how long have you had them for, how would you react/act if you didn’t have them, which beliefs would help you be the best version of yourself, how can you implement these beliefs, etc.
So, here’s the list :
- Psycho cybernetics by Dr Maxwell Maltz (can listen to it on youtube)
- The Game of life and how to play it by Florence Scovel shinn (available on youtube as well)
- Caroline Myss’s books and conferences
- Dylan James on youtube (I usually find manifestation coaches odd lol but he’s very thorough and pushes you to get to the root cause of your triggers and blockages - he studied neuroscience as well I think)
- Jessica Richburg’s yoga videos on youtube : this is for daily movement, which has a huge impact on your mental and emotional states. Especially hip opening exercises, they’re great for emotional release.
- Dr David Snyder’s NLP (neuro linguistic programming) free lectures on youtube

okay but like, when and WHY did people stop doing these ? I remember feeling so excited every time I was included in one, and I remember all the cool blogs and people I discovered through checking them out. well, terrible graphic aside, I am here to hopefully continue the tradition of follow forevers.
