You know what would be fucking awesome? If they reuse Cas’ (and Mary’s) “watch over you” line, but use it to refer to God instead of Cas, kind of like how Chuck already quoted Cas’ “gripped you tight and raised you from perdition” and Naomi’s “came off the line with a crack in your chassis”.

“Watching over you” and not in a wholesome comforting angelic protector Cas way, but in a horrifying still-stuck-in-the-narrative omnipresent god Chuck way.

They could have Dean say it, or God say it, but I think the one that would be best to say it is a random devout religious person with absolutely zero intention of harm or malice. Just good intentions and a given purpose from the One above.

“God is watching over you.”

Well that, or Jack.

“I’ll watch over you.”

ok but here’s the thing. twilight probably assumes that a REAL FATHER would run home to his REAL DAUGHTER after a near fatal hostage situation and shower her with affection… oh he HAS to give her a hug with yor there watching! what if someone asks what his reaction was and it isn’t convincing enough? operation strix could be compromised if he doesn’t react the right way!

so if we get any emotional reunion between the two of them i think he’ll use that as an excuse. of course i believe he wad genuinely worried about her safety (he left a mission early to help her!!) but there’s no way in hell he acknowledges those feelings to belong to twilight rather than loid

I’m going to list byler fic ideas I wanted to write, and a rapid pitch just so I can get them out of my head, please feel free to reply or send an ask if that’s something you’d still wanna read bc at this point I don’t know where to go from there.

Borrowed time, aka that season 4 rewrite I was doing, fully canon divergent from vol.2 at this point: A two chapter story spanning over the course of season 4, from Will & Mike’s pov. Chapter one covers the events of vol.1 & my idea of what vol.2 could have been, with Mike realizing the kind of love he feels for his girlfriend is puppy love and they both are outgrowing it. Essentially growing pains all around for each character. (This is the fic I’ve been posting snippets of)

Touch tank (working title): a one-shot au set in a somewhat canonverse where Mike & Will are college students (and still best friends with Mike as a seemingly straight ally) driving home to Hawkins for Thanksgiving. A road-trip sort of confessional with lots of unsaid things coming up.

Nothing small, nothing unexpected (working title): a one-shot au set ten years past the events of the show. Will (now a cartoonist) comes back to Hawkins for Jonathan and Nancy’s wedding and reconnects with Mike who’s a part-time writer / part-time bookstore owner. They end up spending a lot of time together as they decide to write a graphic novel together. Lots of explorations of past trauma, healing, that sort of stuff!
