Bruh what is it with genshin shippers on twitter and tiktok being so obsessed with each other???????I swear if you’d look up content about a ship on either platform, you’ll find content on shippers just bashing other ships or putting idiotic ‘ittosara/ayathoma/eimiko/etc stans dni’ disclaimers in their bio……

Holy hell, why is it so difficult for them to mind their own business and not ruin the peace within the fandom????? (This isn’t a post against shippers btw, so those of you who get irritated with ppl having fun with romantic character pairings or whine about how ‘ships ruin everything’, this post isn’t for you)

And omg they can’t even mind their own business when a post about a ship they don’t like comes on their fyp. If it’s a pairing you don’t like, then just scroll???? Why are you taking time out to add your unwanted opinion in a space that is clearly not for you? It’s a different case if the post is bashing your ship and you comment to defend it, but most cases aren’t like that. And I swear sometimes they give the most backhanded comments to fan artists who draw ship content online

‘I don’t ship this but it’s cute 😊’ like you can compliment their art WITHOUT bringing up your personal likes/dislikes cuz they work hard on their drawings only to see comments that visibly are unappreciative of the content they enjoy….

And Ppl create the most unnecessary posts ever on their ‘takes’ on certain ships all the time. ‘My opinions on ships tw:opinion🤭’ like bro please grow up. Just cuz ur doing and saying these things online doesn’t mean that it won’t have the same affect as it would in person.

If you were to go around giving out opinions publicly without any consideration to the time and place, then you’re gonna be bashed or disliked at most. Social cues are important both irl and online. And if y’all are gonna make posts about each other’s ships then at least have the decency to use the fucking tags to ensure that ppl who like those pairings don’t have to see your complaints about them…..

I’m so confused and irritated with all the shippers drama. It’s annoying that y’all can’t treat each other with respect or practice basic etiquette online cuz then shippers’ drama affects the entire community.

I like shipping; but it’s not fun when the fandom is constantly at each other’s throats on which ship is ‘valid’ or ‘problematic’…..

The Cycle of Hatred in Naruto fandom.

Ok, so I just wanted to write a little post on why this fandom (Naruto fandom that is) needs to chill and stop hating on each other so much. But first, let’s get clear in our minds that “Naruto” is a business franchise, and the goal of any business venture is to earn 💰. Earn money by evoking emotions in you. Now that this is clear, let’s move on. This will be a short (not rant) but rather advise to the various “camps” in this community.

1. To the remaining NaruSaku bunch:

Yes, I get it, you’re disappointed with the ending. Yes, you wanted Naruto with Sakura and apparently you cannot see how in the world NaruHina even happened. But if you took your bias out for a bit, you would see that pairing Naruto with Hinata was THE ONLY positive outcome for Naruto romance-wise. Or did you really want Naruto to end up with a “prize” that never even ONCE expressed her desire to be with him romantically in any way, shape or form. And don’t bring up the fake confession because this is all that is. FAKE. To save the love of her life from sinking into darkness. And how can you go around Hinata’s heartfelt confession during the Pein arc? So, please STOP insulting Hinata and her fans - let people enjoy the canon pairings that were planned from the beginning of serialisation of the project.

2. To the very vocal SNS community:

I’ll just keep it simple. If Masashi Kishimoto wanted this manga to be shonen-ai or yaoi, he would’ve acted on it. Editor or not, Kishi stands behind his story. He always has. And please don’t bring the supposed “homophobia” into this. Homophobia is a very serious rl issue that affects millions of people worldwide and you’re NOT helping the cause by insulting and hating on people enjoying the het canon pairings of Narutoverse. You do realize that your rants about it only trigger more hate towards yourselves and the cycle of hatred goes on. So we all end up bashing real living breathing humans “for the sake” of inked characters.. Let it sink in.

3. To the die hard SasuKarin minority:

Bruh.. There’s so much I’d like to bring up here but I’ll stick to basics. Firstly, your claim to be Sasuke fans is ridiculous because you seem to view him as a mindless, powerless beta male that was harassed by a woman SO HARD that he decided to give it to her.. really?! Is that who you think he is? Because that’s what you all seem to claim by saying that “Sakura chased after him”. You take that line from Gaiden and take it completely out of context. Do you know ANYTHING about Sasuke? Anything at all? If there’s anything manga taught us about his character is that Sasuke Uchiha acts as he pleases. He did so when he first left the village, he did so when he killed Orochimaru, he did so when he fought with Naruto, he did so when he willingly gave up his old worldview, and he did so when he married his wife. And you bring up “rape” into the matter. Seriously?! Do I need to bring up the sweaty t-shirts, licking somebody all over and ravaging them in their sleep? Do I? Thankfully, Karin redeemed herself by worrying about Sasuke’s wife well-being enough to deliver her baby and by thinking about HER happiness in Sasuke Shinden. She clearly cares about the Uchiha family wellbeing more than you do. She moved on!! So should you.

4. To NaruHina and SasuSaku respectively:

There is NO popularity contest. Man, I can’t believe we’ve got to this. There is absolutely NO popularity contest between Sakura and Hinata, neither there is for their romances. They’re different, just as the girls are different, and the boys are different. There is no such thing as a cookies cutter perfect romance. They’re written differently and I’m thankful to Kishimoto for that. I wouldn’t want every couples way to the altar copy-pasted. SS is angstier and more complicated. Their history is different. Yes. NH has been more subtle during the Shippuden but both pairings came together as was planned and we should feel proud and victorious that our ships made it to canon. But that’s too boring I guess. I guess tearing each other down is the new sport. So please tell me: what has Sakura ever done to Hinata except for being a good friend?! Same goes for Hinata. Can you put away your hate for Sakura/Hinata for one minute to appreciate the fact that the girls are ACTUALLY HAPPY! The way it was planned from the beginning. They’ve both suffered, ached and spilled tears for the men they love SO MUCH. And now they’re happy! Can’t we celebrate that?! This brings me to my next and final point.

5. To Sakura haters:

I’ll keep it brief. I honestly really truthfully DO NOT get WHY you hate on her so much.I REALLY DON’T.

5.1. For those of you who hate her for getting in the way of your ship, please see above. You really must either not have read the manga, or fanfiction.net is your source of truth. Hating her for being paired with Sasuke is same as hating Kishimoto for making Naruto a jinchuuriki because both canon facts were pre-planned by the author.

5.2. If you hate her for being mean to Naruto, then I suggest reading the manga past chapter 3 because this misconception gets debunked really quickly. You should stop refusing to accept the fact that Sakura really cares about Naruto as a friend and a precious teammate.

5.3. If you hate her for being “useless”, I don’t even know what to tell you because.. you know.. you don’t know the content of the manga called “Naruto” so why don’t you put away your bias for a minute and try to see what I see? All you have to do is clear your mind of all misconceptions and just read the manga with, you know, open mind?! To see how many lives she saved, how much of strength she has considering her humble beginnings, and how much valued she is in the village.

To the rest of Naruto fandom that gets swayed in every direction influenced by reviewers on social media, extremist shippers or even have trouble realizing that characters are fictional and nothing really happens to them unless it’s written into the canon verse by the author, I have one advice to you: please don’t let anyone’s opinions affect your judgement. YouTube reviewers are PAID to provoke and trigger you. They earn money by imposing THEIR ideas and theories onto YOU. Some of them bring their own life experiences into the discussion which only causes you to self-insert.

Naruto is an awesome manga! It deals with such important issues and carries such a positive message! Please, STOP ruining it by pointless wars that only fuel more hate!

Now. Going back to my first point about the money. Anime production studios have a huuuge interest in you staying glued to the screens. They’ll do anything to provoke you to talk about whatever happens on screen. They will bring their own bias into the mix, and fuel this madness even more. For the anime only fans I will say that you’re doing a huge disservice to yourself and to the work of art that “Naruto” is by only watching anime. It adds another layer of interpretation thus confusing you even more. Please, read the manga! It’s so worth it!

3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

lmao yeah. It’s petty, but honestly, people’s personal morals really bleed through into their fandom opinions, and I’m not willing to put up with any unnecessary hate, especially in environments that are supposed to be fun. I’ve even blocked a few people. In the ppg fandom specifically, I’ve blocked a person who, I guess, thought it was necessary to try to gate-keep with racist/sexist/etc. terminology and ideologies, and I truly don’t have time for that 🤷‍♀️ (a lot of people probs know who I’m vaguing, but if you don’t, you’re lucky)

I can’t say I’ve ever unfollowed anyone for any innocent/not-in-conflict-with-my-morals fandom opinions. Usually, if I don’t agree with something, I just keep scrolling because lol whatever. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*

I went into this fandom without having too many preferences, so I didn’t have a pairing that I’ve previously hated!

I guess I could say that while I never really hated them, the color-mixing and color-clashing ships weren’t ever on my radar until I came across the fandom content. Now, I really like them! Particularly, Brick and Bubbles!

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*

Before anyone gets pissed off at me, before you get into my answer for this question, I’d like to really stress that you’ve got to go into it with absolutely zero fanon context. Like, erase all your headcanons from your mind. I’m dead serious. Because I literally DO NOT get why ANY rrbxppg ship would realistically work ever.

Okay, canonically, these six little funky science experiments were dead set on ending each other. The boys were absolutely horrible to the girls. And the girls literally KILL the boys. I know in fairytale romances, nothing stops love, but bruh, it’s hard to come back from murder 😂 And yeah, I know Clipsville showed the girls and the boys together as older teenagers, and they weren’t trying to kill each other, but that was an obvious gag. In the documentary, it was revealed that that particular “clip” was made because a bunch of people wanted the boys and girls to interact again, and CN gave into the demand. (also, lol I know it super embarrassing, but I did watch the documentary. I just really like Craig McCracken) I just don’t think that realistically a canon pairing between the two sets of triplets would ever be considered a healthy relationship.

Also, ethically, I just—okay listen, I go back and forth with this allllll the time, but the ppgxrrb ships make me confront the “Would I sleep with my clone?” question way too often. Depending on my self-esteem, the answer changes each time. Like sometimes I’m like fuck yeah I would! Other times I’m like, ew, no, I’d have to consider my clone as a twin! I know counterparts aren’t technically clones, BUT the boys really do come across as identical to the girls in the show. The only difference really is their moral alignment (I’m nixing any gender argument). So, I’m like, omg, can I honestly pair these six together in any way??? Are they too close to each other genetically in some sense for this to be morally right??? Like if you ship Brick and Buttercup together, would that just essentially be shipping Brick and Butch/Blossom and Buttercup together in some messed up way??? Is Brick just Blossom, and Blossom just Brick?? Is it better just to ship color-matching instead of mixing???

On top of all of that, wouldn’t the boys and girls be pseudo cousins since Mojo was the Professor’s lab monkey? Technically, in canon, Mojo ends up being both sets of triplets “creator,” so could the rrb and the ppg be considered siblings of some sort? Some of you are probably like, wow, calm down. Stop thinking about it. They’re science experiments. It’s not so deep. Which I get, but I can’t stop, so let me hit you with something ten times worse: should the girls (or the boys) actually be considered biological siblings? Does sugar, spice, and everything nice make you genetically related? Nothing put in the stirring pot was organic—just a bunch of chemicals. If you ship the boys and girls together this could be a good thing! BUT, but, could some sick fuck use this information to somehow justify shipping siblings (ppgxppg or rrbxrrb) together??? This is a literal nightmare to think about!!

All in all, I can’t think about these pairings too much without getting caught up in the logistics of their existence even if they’re fictional lmaoooo! If it wasn’t for the fandom, I wouldn’t ship them together at all. I just think it’s amazing that the ships took off like they did lol, because their literal (fictional) existence is just one giant mind fuck for me. Anyway, I ship them at the end of the day, but tbh I do it with a bit of a guilty conscience. Is it morally correct to ship clone-like counterparts? Or should counterparts be treated like twins? Does it even fucking matter at the end of the day, it’s just fiction? I don’t know the right answer. But I do know the pairings don’t make sense.

Aside from the ppgxrrb, I don’t think there are many other BIG fandom wide pairings. Still, I just want to say that I don’t get why people ship Ace and Buttercup together. The pairing sounds off a few major alarms in my head for obvious reasons. There’s also a bunch of crack ships that involve crossovers with other cartoons. Generally, I don’t mind them, but it seems popular to ship Aku (from Samurai Jack) and Blossom together. And I’m real sorry to those devoted shippers, but again I do NOT get it. I see a lot of romantic fan art depicting romantic situations with Blossom still drawn as a child, and like I get Aku is an immortal demon, so “age is just a number,” but again, BIG ALARMS go off in my head.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?*

🙃 🙃 Kind of don’t want to answer this, but I will anyway because only a few people actually read my blog lolol, so lol, yep! And it’s the reds. Don’t shoot me lol. When I was in middle school, I got into this fandom, forgot about it, and then came back when I was hit by a round of nostalgia. I’m finishing up college now, and I can confidentially say that the fanon content for the reds hasn’t changed one bit. Or the demand for it.

I tended to find that a lot of red content follows many archetypes that I’m just not into. Their stories can get a real cringey, real fast. Blossom is always written like this “perfect, except she’s not (but she really is)” character. Like she’s the girl you WISH you could be, but she’s also going through a shit ton of stuff that no person IRL would be able to handle without having a mental breakdown. And sometimes, in some stories, Blossom does have a mental breakdown, but in a sexy way, so she’s still perfect. Generally, there’s still something problematic about Blossom that makes it easy for a reader to relate to her on some level, unlike the way people write Bubbles. And then there’s Brick, who’s broody, hyper-possessive or jealous, and hot figuratively and literally (gotta love the fire/ice trope). He’s the only boy—no! Wait!—the only person who could ever possibly outwit Blossom, and he is just so undeniably attracted to Blossom. They’re the smart power couple that should honestly just hook-up in Chapter One to save everybody time, but they don’t. Nah, they’ve got to survive at least two love triangles before they even consider admitting they’re attracted to each other.

And don’t get me wrong, none of that’s bad, but there are a million fanfics that go through the same song and dance with these two. And it’s kind of easy to tell when someone’s hardcore projecting onto Blossom because the type of person they’re personally attracted to is the way they write Brick. And I’m not knocking anyone self-projecting onto characters, sometimes people got to do that to give themselves a fun mental break, but bro, I don’t want to read about it. For one, smart broody assholes aren’t my type. Maybe when I was in middle school, but not anymore. And two, it’s just not interesting to me, which is a real shame since the reds are a majority of the fanon content.

Maybe if I found more red stories where the plot isn’t character-driven but plot-driven, so I see the romance between these two characters in a context where it’s not the main focus of the story, it would solve my issue with the pairing. I haven’t found many fics like that, though.

I can’t really think of any reds fic where I’m like ey, this aint bad unless it has a “major character death” tag attached to it lmao (which are always plot driven stories). However, in all honesty, since I’ve stayed away from red content for a while now, I don’t know the current state of things. Maybe there’s been a load more development for these two, or people have broken away from the same plotlines, but I’m too busy to check. I do browse people’s fic rec lists from time to time, but it sort of feels like everyone just puts the same fics on their lists and moves on.

And before someone’s like, “well, you can say all this about the greens or the blues,” just know I’m fully aware. The greens make me cringe too because there’s a shit ton of possessive and abusive storylines filling their story tags. And what makes me super uncomfortable is how people make Buttercup hit Butch or call him derogatory names, oftentimes unprompted. I don’t know why people make Buttercup such an unlikeable and overly aggressive person. I also don’t get why they make Butch some perverted idiot, but to each their own, I guess? Still, I see these green-character patterns most often in red-focused stories, which is another reason why I avoid them. I’ve found a lot of green-focused content that strays from the abusive tropes I try to avoid. Considerably less than I’d like, but the greens are typically the b-plot pairing, so that’s to be expected. Personally, I’d really like to see more content with the greens finding some kind of inner peace, and recently, I’ve seen a few fics that have tried to tackle this concept.

And lol, if you’ve read some of my posts before, you already know that I think the blues are an underdeveloped fanon pairing. The fandom can’t ruin that pairing for me because it never does anything substantial with it.

Anyway, at the end of the day, I’m just personally not into the way the reds are popularly written, but I get why people are and that’s good with me.

Although shipping in APH OC fandom is complicated because… Since we’re working with characters aren’t canon, every person will have their own interpretation of X,Y and Z nation and their relationships, and I think people are prone to have at least a bit of personal bias towards specific nations… which isn’t necessary a bad thing, after all we aren’t the same and come from different backgrounds (heck, even people from the same country can have very different interpretations of their own nations!).

I’m saying this because I’m taking your “new to South America” as “I do not have much knowledge about these nations and their international relationships”, so I just want to add that everything you see here or any of my blogs comes from my own personal interpretations of what anthropomorphic south american nations would be and behave like.

For example, I just cannot ship Argentina x Paraguay x Uruguay between themselves, because to me, they are related, I headcanon them as family.

Some people may disagree on that, some may see their relationships as romantic and that’s okay! All headcanons are valid and we can all coexist!

With that being said…I admit that I am not the biggest shipper around, lmao. I don’t get much asks/art requests about pairings in the first place, and my blogs are mainly multishipping/ship neutral, though I did addressed a few pairings before.

Oh man... people who follow any of my blogs probably already know this I’m sorry, but they are my favorite pairing in the entire continent? I think their personalities would complement each other well? Also the role their historical baggage plays into their relationship? And how overlooked not only the possibility of a romance, but also friendship between these nations is, and how much in common they actually have? And not counting the fact they are founding members of the MERCOSUL, but both nations just so happen to run together one of the most important dams in the world so ofc they would interact all the time? And don’t even get me started on everything that led to the construction of said dam in the first place. They are both nations with a very complex relationship that often goes overlooked specially because there aren’t many people interested in writing about aph Paraguay, which I believe can’t be helped because Paraguay is a nation that often gets overlooked in South America. In this essay I will

I have a soft spot for them?:

ArgChi - honestly where do I even start with these two? They have, like, SO MUCH history together its not even funny. Like... Argentina helped Chile get their independence (Also Abrazo de Maipu anyone? like bruh, the 2 of them were there watching that), and as much as both nations had many conflicts, they still helped one another, like many times? and they may or may not have been growing on me lately?

EcuPeru - I've talked about them before, but they, like, their histories are intertwined and despite many conflicts they had through years, both nations relationship improved, and they have been stable for years (specially with trading, tourism, etc)... and I think it could work? Also I think its cute? also I ship my Peru OC with canon Ecu fite me irl

I Think about them... sometimes... I think they could Work?:

BraUru - They’re one of my brotps already but like...They both share a lot of history together as well? On top of having good irl relations, I like the way their personalities complement one another. also I think they look cute together.

VeneBoli - I already see them as good friends, but I think they could work as a pairing? And they have history together too? Not only Venezuela helped liberating them from spanish empire, the country was named after Simón Bolivar himself while its true that Bolivar didn’t want them to break free from Peru, but then again, he had that plan for an whole ass unified South America, but in the end, he relented lol idk man to me it could work.

ParaWan - Ok I just... I love the irl relations between Paraguay and Taiwan so much and they’re already a personal brotp of mine, but I think they would work as a couple too. They’d be adorable together. Pure fluff. Also I’m biased because I fucking love aph Taiwan so much

Honorary mentions because I think they’re cute:

ParaCol - I already see them being good friends. Good relations IRL, also historically Colombia stood up for Paraguay after the Triple Alliance War and offered to take in their citizens had anything happen to their homeland and I think that is beautiful.

BrArg - enemies, to friends to lovers, slowburn 200k. Its surprising how well both nations get along now despite being at each other’s throats for almost 2 centuries.They’re one of my personal brotps too, but I think they have such good chemistry and I think they could work as a couple.

ColBra - Nations with similar energy. I hc them as friends, maybe with a sorta vitriolic best buddies dynamic, they’d get into arguments a lot over football and who has the best coffee, but at the end they truly care about one another.

ArgVene - Uruguay & Colombia left the chat mainly because they have similar personalities. slightly prideful passionate older siblings figures? together? yeah, that works for me.

BraChi - I hc them as being good friends already, both have good relations irl they could bond over bullying Argentina ok tbh I do think they would get together just to make fun of Argentina, specially over football... also they were both members of the ABC pact (alongside Argentina) and Brazil hosts the 2nd largest chilean community in South America.

UruChi - they could bond over joking about Argentina There have never been any major conflicts between them (excluding fútbol ofc) and they have alright relations, they’ve done business together and tourism so... I can kinda... see something between happening? it would be cute.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

I feel like if you're asking this then you already know the answer XD Fandom has ruined many pairings for me. Most Na//th ships are just unappealing to me because he was so disproportionately popular after his episode and I was like why tho?

Ch//lo//ne//tte was ruined for me romantically. I still live for them as friends, but there was a lot of toxic tropes surrounding the ship back in the day (chloe bullied Marinette because she liked her, marinette being the one to hold Chloe's hand through her redemption, marinette always having to forgive her even if she didn't deserve it just because chloe was sad or liked her and was a closet baby lesbian or whatever), and just it started to leave a bad taste in my mouth after a while.

There is the ship which shall not be named that I had people harass me about on my birthday because of a post I had reblogged from LNC2 two months prior that I guess they dug through my blog and found and they sent me an ask being like ugh you agree with that person here is why you're wrong and should feel bad about it basically and I just reiterated my opinion on it and was like it's cool if you like it but I don't kthnxbye and then everyone stormed my inbox on my birthday telling me what a shit person I was for not liking it and how I needed to stop being rude to shippers (I literally after that was just like bruh you can do what you want idc) and how I wasn't allowed to make content for any ships involving that character because it gave shippers false ideas that I liked it, and I was just like yall. It's why I turned anon off for a year. So, yeah, I hate that ship especially just out of spite and it will forever be associated with a bunch of assholes abusing me on my birthday.

19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?

I mean I feel like it can be said for any fandom, but I hate how a lot of toxic people run everything. There are several events that I can't do in this fandom because of the people who run them. And the sad thing is, most of them I haven't had personal beef with ever, but I got into an argument one whole ass time with someone from their group and they're a hive mindset so they all blocked me. It's part of the reason I started doing my own events and minding my business. I've become pretty jaded with a lot of discourse and arguing cause it's a fucking cartoon, yall jfc. I'm just here to have a good time, write some fic, share some art, laugh at some memes. Quit fun policing and yelling at me for not loving your rare pair. God.

Idk I'm not here for popularity or whatever the fuck people usually want. I literally just wanted to enjoy a thing, but some people just can't stand other people enjoying a thing in a different way than them and feel that if your opinions differ from theirs then you're a bad person. I see it all over the fandom. I mean people attacked me over differences of opinion on a ship on my birthday just because I didn't like it. Didn't matter that I said they are free to like it even if I didn't, I didn't like the thing so I was wrong and bad.

Idk. I think people just take things way too seriously, and get way too defensive and I know part of that is tumblr culture, but I've just grown tired of arguing with strangers so if you annoy me now I just block and move on. I ain't got time for discourse. But ya know unless someone pisses me off really good and says shit about an event, anyone is welcome to do my events cause I don't gate keep cause I know what that feels like, and ultimately I want everyone to have a good time cause it's not that deep.

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

So far, I’m going to say Keith. He started off with this very detached attitude where the greater good trumped all personal goals. He was very judgmental of anyone not willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the universe (cases in point: blowing up when Pidge wanted to leave to go find her family, and suggesting the team not go back for Allura because keeping Voltron out of Zarkon’s hands was more important).

And then you have him discovering such a huge part of his identity, and finding his connection to his Galra heritage. And that helps him bond with his team more too (like with Hunk in the belly of the weblum). He starts seeing his team as his family, and he reaches a true milestone at the end of S2. He started unwilling to go back for Allura because of the greater good, and he ends unwilling to leave Thace behind despite the greater good. That is quality, well-written character development.

I am SO looking forward to seeing more of his bonding with the other teammates. Give me the bonding with Pidge, the developing bickering/friendship with Lance, the understanding/friendship with Allura, more openness with Shiro. Just give me my son opening up and truly becoming part of this family!

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

Prorok didn’t deserve to get turned into a robeast by Haggar. He was a piece of shit, but he was loyal to Zarkon, and didn’t deserve to be discarded like that. He should’ve been battled and defeated in his Galra form.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

Klance is my all time OTP ofc, but other than that I love every single friendship in this show. Keith and Shiro, Garrison trio, Allura’s bonding with each of the paladins individually, Allura and Coran’s bond, etc etc. I’m on the aro spectrum, and seeing well-developed, nuanced platonic relationships in media means so much to me; I’m looking forward to seeing more of those in vld!

N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).

1. Positivity -- there is just so much hate everywhere yikes: age disk-horse, ship wars, etc. Like bruh let’s all ship what we want, and if we see nice art or cute hc’s for a ship that we don’t ship, let’s still be positive toward it.

2. Nuanced klance fanworks -- there is so much klance content, and I’m so grateful for it, but I’d also just really love more fics that show their hate-to-love journey in a way that doesn’t start off abusive or in a way that doesn’t completely minimize the hate stage. As a fic writer, I don’t write enough of this kind of content myself though, so who the heck am I to complain pfft

3. Writing streams -- I’d love to attend one of these in general, and don’t hear about them happening.

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.

Gonna express an unpopular opinion here: h//ance -- Nothing against this ship at all; it’s pure, and I can see the appeal. I could just never get on board. Their friendship means so much to me that I just cannot like them as a romantic pair. I’m the same way with other very close friendships, like harry/hermione.

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

I don’t think so?! Many of my fics have Lance doing cracky things like he always does, does that count?

2. Is there a ship you didn’t like at first but ultimately started shipping?

In my case it never is “I didn’t like it at first”. In my case it always is “I’ve never considered it before because I was shipping one (or both) of them with someone else” alternatively “I’ve never paid much attention to the character(s) in question”. If I don’t like a ship at the beginning, then I won’t like it down the road either.

So an sort of answer to this question might be, for example, KuroDai. At first I went with classic KuroKen (Junko’s KuroKen doujinshi was what introduced me to Haikyuu years ago) and DaiSuga. Both of them worked quite well for me so I didn’t really bother with other ships. But then, thanks to @kathwolfie, KuroDai happened and it became my main ship for both of them.

6. What is your most angsty ship?

I like all my ships angsty. But! Recently we’ve been talking about some general ship stuff with, once again, @kathwolfie, and the topic of angst came up too. (Few days later I was talking about something similar with @vugou. And now you.)

In my case I really, really love hurt/comfort stuff. The thing is that the “comfort” part has to be there. HAS TO. Even though I want them to suffer, I want them to have a happy ending after all the suffering.

The most angsty would probably be Voltron’s Klance (for example pining might be both funny and painful, especially if we add envy/jealousy, what’s more if works well both ways here; or all the stuff with them legit risking their lives in this fight, Lance’s insecurities, s2 finale and so on - mmm yeah, lots of angsty possibilities) or ShimaYukio from Ao no Exorcist (especially when you consider what’s been happening in the manga lately, I love Shima no matter what, he was my fav from the beginning and it will never change; fun fact - at first I was shipping Shima with Rin but it wasn’t working for me that well, then I came across some London’s ShimaYuki doujinshi and was instantly sold; I even have some physical copies of these doujinshi on my shelf).

9. What ship represents the kind of relationship you’d love to have?

I think that few months ago I would have said that definitely TsukiYama. Their relationship is soft, full of trust, support, mutual understanding. No matter if someone ships them romantically or not, it’s visible that they are important to each other.

Though now I’m wavering if, maybe, I should answer with Klance. Fundamentally, they are almost everything that TsukiYama is but they go about it differently. Despite their softness, they also have sharp edges. They push each other to be better versions of themselves in slightly different way than TsukiYama does, it’s not support, it’s rivalry. And still - they hold each other in high regard, trust each other and work well together as a team. Space ranger partners.Keith and Lance are very different people and balance each other well. And don’t get me started on their bickering. I love it. I really, really love it.

(I could go on and on and on and on and on about this.)

11. What is a character you can only imagine in one particular ship?

I don’t really think that there are such characters. I’m on the multishipping side. Even if I stick to a “main” ship I have for some characters it doesn’t mean that I won’t enjoy good art (or doujinshi) of them with someone else. It doesn’t apply to fics though. 99% of times I read fics - it’s of my “main” ships. Unless a friend who’s tastes I trust recommends me a good fic with another pair. (@kathwolfie, Bruh, I will never forget that one fic with Shino and Kiba, even though I’ve never read or seen Naruto.)

Though, I have to say, that my thoughts went towards Oregairu. There are a lot of ship options for Hikigaya but, to be honest, I can see him only with Hayama. Well, Saika might be a nice choice too but… HAYAMA.

(different anon) i think it's less the length of time and more the stage of development that's being pointed out as an issue, like how 18 y/o are already adults and 15 y/o still kids- its like a college student dating a highschool sophmore. and even assuming that they're both liking each other, that still puts them on uneven ground in terms of maturity that can lead to a power imbalance, even if its unintentional

I’m not a passionate shipper of otayuri but honestly I don’t think age is much of a problem. It’s not like once you turn 18 you suddenly become an adult. legally you may be an adult, but that’s just for legal purposes. a 3-year age gap is still a 3-year age gap. It’s reasonably small. outside the fictional world though, its wiser to follow laws. that’s just my opinion!! (And what does the anon who unfollowed you mean by genderbends? i’m confused by that?)

I just wanted to say do you, I personally don’t agree with the shippings for similar reason to the anons but at the end of the day it’s just a ship.I’ve seen lots of age diff relationships and life and some have turned out insanely well and others not so well,it all depends on the compatibility of them.
