Hmmm, soulmates au?
Soulmate AU where you can feel the other's pain
It goes without saying that Mario and DK get beat up
A lot
Mario is bullied growing up, and so it's not uncommon for him to come home with bruises and scrapes
Things only get worse when people try to bully Luigi
Mario can tolerate people bullying him (to a certain extent) but he will never allow people to pick on his brother
So now, in addition to people picking fights with him, he starts getting into fights with people who try to mess with Luigi
As a result, pain is a frequent occurrence for Mario
Donkey Kong is concerned
Warrior training starts young for his people, but he's been feeling pain from an even younger age, and some of the pain that he feels from his soulmate occurs outside of training hours
DK isn't worried at first, but as he grows up, and he feels the pain become more frequent, the more he grows concerned
He worries that someone is beating up his soulmate, and so he keeps a lookout for anyone in his kingdom that might be picked on
He doesn't find anything
But Donkey Kong's always looking, and hopes that one day he can find his soulmate and make sure that no one ever hurts them again
He acknowledged that he's a hypocrite though
His injuries are in some way voluntary, but he worries that it's not the same for his soulmate
He trains constantly and is often entering into battles, experiencing pain on a regular basis
DK feels bad because he doesn't want to cause his soulmate any more pain, but at the same time he knows that he has to do this
He works hard in training to make sure that in fights he won't acquire any unnecessary injuries
Mario also worries about his soulmate, he hopes that whoever it is doesn't have to go through what he does
After Mario falls through the pipe and ends up traveling to the Jungle Kingdom, he finally meets DK on the battlefield
Their battle takes a different turn when they can feel each other's pain
Donkey Kong is ready to defeat this puny (kinda attractive) human, to prove his worth to his father and to make sure he's not conscripted into a battle that might cause his soulmate to feel pain that they don't deserve
Mario has been fighting his whole life, and even though he knows he's in for pain, he's ready for it
Neither of them are ready for this
This battle immediately does not go well
Donkey Kong gets in a killer first blow, and immediately reels back in pain
Mario is not doing well after the hit, but uses DK's confusion at feeling unknown pain to his advantage
Even though he's not very strong, he manages to give Donkey Kong a pretty good punch
And immediately feels bad
At this point they are both confused
They've felt pain at the same time as their soulmate a few times before, but never like this
Donkey Kong is stunned into silence, wondering what's going on
Mario pinches himself
Donkey Kong winces
They stare at each other
Mario/DK: You're my soulmate?!
Cranky puts his head in his hands, because of course this human is Donkey Kong's soulmate
Donkey Kong runs over to Mario and gives him the largest hug possible while profusely apologizing
DK: I'm so sorry I never meant to cause you more pain I was so worried about you and yet I still managed to hurt you I'm such an idiot-
Mario kisses him so he'll shut up
DK shuts up
#the battle stops because of course dk isn't going to fight mario#and battling someone that can feel your pain is not entertaining#cranky is happy for his nephew#but can not believe this is happening#as they enter into the battle with bowser both of them fret real hard#the final battle is one of the hardest moments of their lives#one day dk asks mario about all the injuries#mario reveals how hard he was bullied#it takes multiple people to stop donkey kong from leaping into the nearest pipe to fight people in brooklyn#mario movie#super mario bros movie#mario x donkey kong#dk x mario#mario x dk#mariokong

#I was talking to some buddies about lies of p and sekiro and how LoP’s defense as offense mentality helped get into sekiro#but then how sekiro overwrote that mentality with its own “offense is the best defense” mentality#or “hesitate and you lose” as Grandpappy isshin would say#and how the switch for the change for me was genichiro who I think is one of the best designed bosses in gaming#you CAN’T play too defensively with him because he’s happy to pepper you with arrows from a distance#and then the moment comes when you realize your sword interrupts his bow attacks sekiro truly begins as a game#lady butterfly is also a good fight but all her moves bring her to you so there’s less incentive to be as aggressive#vs genny baby who will back off and fire off his bow if you let him#this isn’t even like a video of me playing perfectly but I LOVE getting my feudal edgelord corner stunned and just bursting him down#I kinda hate the owl shinobi fight bc he hits too hard and his attacks just aren’t interesting to react to#but it’s also possible to corner stun him and just go to town on his health bar#owl father and inner father are much better fights and I actually really enjoyed inner father a lot#but the Ashina family fights are absolutely stunning achievements in game design imo#perfectly balanced to be difficult but fair and visually stunning to boot#even if there is a layer of artificial difficulty in the final battle with the flowers obscuring their swords when they’re crouched#but the animations are solid enough that there are enough other more subtle differences like how hes shifting his weight#if he’s centered he’s going to lunge but if he’s angled he’s gonna sweep#I had so much fun with LoP and sekiro 🥰🥰🥰 I crave more…#I can’t say the combat in Elden ring gorilla gripped me like these two games have but I like HAVE to play dark souls I know this#sekiro#tsuchi plays games

Today was the last DND session for a three-year campaign and I am big sad :(
One of the players brought whiskey for a last toast, which was very kind of them. I had never had whiskey before. Turns out I do not like whiskey. Unsurprising.
It tastes like slightly nicer hand sanitizer.
#blue chatter#it was a flavored whiskey as well#everyone else who had it said it was rly smooth and sweet#so I don’t think I super wanna know what regular whiskey tastes like#it was supposed to be like vanilla caramel flavored or smth#I was told it was like cream soda and that was a LIE it was like disinfectant#with a vanilla aftertaste#the campaign went rly rly well though#I’m seriously going to miss it#the final boss battle was just pure catharsis we absolutely whaled on that dark abberant goddess#she got Destroyed#an entire section of the continent restructured bc of the removal of her corruption#I rly like that my character got to be disabled at the tail end of this campaign#they wielded experimental magic that wasn’t supposed to work and resurrected someone who the Keeper very intentionally kept dead#it worked because they partially fused with Arawai the goddess of life and became her aspect on earth#but becoming partially divine in a mortal body takes a toll#they had more and more limited mobility and the more they cast magic to compensate the more of a toll it takes#functionally that meant my movement speed was reduced#and I lost more abilities after each combat as the consequences of overextending myself caught up to me#I wish I’d gotten to play this longer to see how this ended mechanically but it was a lot of fun to get a character who is both#very magically competent and still disabled and that still affects their ability and they still get the dignity of risk#to choose whether to continue casting or not knowing the consequences of doing so#it is very much a fantastical disability which I flavored heavily off of chronic fatigue and a mobility disorder#in-game their skin became hard and brassy around their joints which make them difficult and painful to bend#they lose a lot of sensation and fine motor control#thankfully they have a lot of money from their adventuring so they can commission an accessible house and mobility aids#and their friends help take care of them

Remember when this video came out there were people who heard the voice at the end and thought the voice was either Sammy or the Ink Demon? Man, those were the days. However with all due respect, I'm glad neither case was right in the end lol.
On this day 5 years ago, "Unknown - April 14th" was posted on YouTube, which means it's been 5 damn years since we first heard from Wilson...

It's interesting to think that even though it's been 5 years, we've only known who Wilson really is for 2 years now (or more appropriately, 1 year and 5 months of those 5 years). Of course, now, after BATDR was released, we know who he is and what his place is in the Bendy universe. But between April 1, 2019 and November 1, 2022, all we knew about him was that he…existed. He was someone - someone bad apparently - who sounded old and who would have some relevance in the plot of Dark Revival. And that's it. We had no name, no appearance, nothing. He was someone, but we didn't know who.
It's no wonder he was only referred to as "Unknown" by fans during these 3 and a half years.
In the end, I would say that this drawing is a mix of 2 things.
The first being the result of an idea I've had for a while, which is basically making a drawing in relation to the original video/"unknown" tape, but this time with Wilson, since now we know it was recorded by him. Plus it's been 5 years since the original upload,5 years of Wilson. I think this would be the perfect time to do this.
And second, a strange kind of redux/homage/"final chapter" in this kind of "collection" of drawings I did between 2019 and 2022 all based on the idea of "the unknown weirdo from BATDR saying How Very Interesting Such Knowledge" and so on. All of them having other characters in mind in the role of the Unknown. And now, here I am, redoing this idea again, only with The Man Himself this time. The real Unknown. Now as the Known, so to speak.
Going back to what I said before, you can see this drawing as a kind of farewell to this particular idea that I've kind of repeated over the years, as I've now done it again only with Wilson this time. (Does this mean I'll never draw this concept/line of thought again? I mean, I assume so. But there's no guarantee I can't make something similar again down the line. Who knows what the future holds. We will see what happens in the next 5 years.)
But,yeah. 5 years of Such Knowledge™.

Hi! As someone who now kinda wants to check out Trigun because of the hype, do you recommend that I can start with Stampede? Or do I really need to watch the OG anime first to better understand/enjoy it? Thank you! 🙋🏻♀️
you can start with stampede! i'd say knowing the context of the original enhances the experience but isn't necessary to enjoy the show. I would consider stampede more viewer-friendly, especially for those of us who are used to modern storytelling conventions (the original suffers the consequences of general writing trends in anime at the time it was produced and of the fact that it was produced long before the manga was finished, so the story is somewhat disjointed and has a lot of filler which makes it REALLY hard to get into.) if you do end up liking stampede, however, I'd suggest trying out watching at least SOME of the original because it adds a lot of cool nuance and context to the story that stampede tells!
#your only REAL handicap is that you're missing out on references that clue you into the context of the story early on#and quite a few references in the finale. but none of those references are hugely necessary to understand the plot so you should be fine!#i didn't DISLIKE the origial and like i said im glad i watched it first but it was. Maybe this doesn’t need to be said, but Im feeling awful about it, so -- to any mutuals that might notice Im not following them anymore, I'm sorry about that. I've just seen too many posts on my dash that I have no way of blocking because they're not tagged in any way and they're distressing enough it's turning one of the only places I considered a safe space not safe for me anymore. So for my own mental health, I had to unfollow. I Will refollow in the future and I still love y'all, but I just-- I can’t. Ive been noticing some very worrying stuff about my mental and emotional state and it's just too much currently. I hope it's at least an understandable decision, and I wish y'all are having a good day out there 💗

terribly sorry for progressively getting more and more annoyed and tired with jn. this show kinda gets a lot more exhausting on a rewatch when you know its not going to get better
#i think what happened when it was airing was that like. it was the direct successor to sun and moon right?#and that was a show EVERYONE shat on when it got revealed. the setting the art change the shift to a goofier style etc etc#but then it aired and aside from some hiccups while adjusting the first few eps- sm turned out to be a joy of a show#not just for a casual watch- you can tune on most episodes without context and just have a pleasant time bc its a cozy show#but also if youre more into the battle scene bc this series kinda goes hard on them#and while the episodes had a goofier tone to them the episodes never felt like they were talking down to its audience#everyone brings up the deaths and how maturely they were handled but seriously- they didnt need to go that hard on the minior episode#and yet- it took fans a long time to really come around to it and stop giving it bad faith criticism#the most popular youtubers were finding every excuse to shit on it and mock the fans#so i think when jn was announced with another slight art shift and a different format- i think we all got a little defensive over it#like hey sm had hiccups too! jn just needs some time to grow into itself and find its footing#and we had no reason to think it wouldn’t. like there were some red flags like how mimey was handled and some clickbait episodes#but we got genuinely nice episodes back then too! the scorbunny eps were neat and ash and gohs intro eps are great#the pichu opening is REALLY strong and i thought it showed a ton of promise for the show#the leon and eternatus stuff was being set up#so i waited for jn to pick up and waved off a lot of criticism as bad faith bc hey. ppl were ruthless to sm and forgetting that we do have t#to work with the limit that its a childrens series. which is fine.#but well…… suddenly we’re in the final arc and its not better. its worse. holy shit did it get worse#episodes like the drizzile one were now the exception. not the rule.#most episodes that are pleasant on a first watch became an absolute slog on a rewatch#the ‘’fanservice’’ feels more like a marketing ploy than an attempt to respect the characters. the production value was a goddamn mess.#entire arcs went unresolved#so it gave me rose tinted glasses until it all fell apart at once for me at the end#but now i have the joyful experience of watching the whole thing through knowing damn good and well it gets worse. yay#echoed voice#jn lb

Nintendo games have become too easy...
#dragon's stupid thoughts#ok listen#i had a good time playing gcn Luigi's mansion even though i was running around with less than 50% of my health most of the time#i think i don't have to talk about pokemon that's self-explanatory#i never had really big troubles in pikmin 4 bosses#you can increase your health (even over the max) can't go ko as long as you got this first aid kit thing#lost a bunch of mins? no prob just rewind time or summon some glowmins (but shout-out to them for saving my ass at the final boss battle#the worst was the level selecting at the caves. this made it WAY too easy#getting down 20 levels with strong enemies and an even tougher boss is so much more thrilling than just skipping everything#I didn't die once in this game. wasn't even close to it#i haven't played wonder (yet?) but I've heard the bosses weren't the best or exciting#the bosses in totk are fun but not really challenging either (maybe the gibdo queen but that's it)#i think I haven't died against ganondorf#but the lynel challenge in the underground was fun!#the final battle in Luigi's mansion was an easy one as in what you had to do but it was somehow hard#maybe cuz of the controls but I enjoyed my win way more than in the other games i mentioned#...#I'm not excited for my playthrough of zelda II

I beat Sonic Frontiers and yeah what the fuck was that?
