I very often forget the X-men are apart of the greater Marvel universe. Like I glanced a clip from the latest X-men 97 episode and saw Rogue talking to Captain America and I genuinely wondered why he of all people was there.

Then I remembered they share a universe.

Seriously, X-men stories are always so deep and their cast are so dense that they feel like the center of their own, separate world. Whenever they meet up with the likes of the Avengers or the Fantastic 4 it feels like more of a damn company crossover than the DC/Marvel crossover!

Fantansy animes run together so damn much that I thought that Frieren broad was a Dungeon Meshi character instead of the protagonist of her own damn show!

The issue with the story modes in XRD and STRIVE is that, for all that they have good moments, they are attemoting to be plot-based when the genre of fighting games is so focused on characters.

May is gonna be such an interesting month for fighting games for me cuz on the one hand: Slayer finally drops in Strive(I finally have a reason to own that game). But on the other: Akuma drops in SF6(I am going to kill myself when the time comes).

Finally heard that Mashle s2 opening. I get why that song was trending for a min: it’s a grade A premium ear worm. I mean that shit is some HEAT!

One of the minorly distracting things in the IDW Transformers comics(the 05 continuity, not the 2019 reboot) is that on occasions, the robot’s designs will change. For instance, Starscream goes from his G1 look to the look he had in the High Moon studio games to his Armada look and then finally what I can best call a “modernized” version of his G1 look(wouldn’t look out of place in Rise of the Beast or RiD2015 tbh). Now I know Starscream canonically gets his chassis changed in universe a couple times, but what’s everybody else’s excuse?

Pfft like I actually care. I just think it’s funny. Especially when they made the switch to the video game designs because the only ones who got the treatment were the ones who were in the games or at least got art for it, which created a bit of a clash since everyone else just had their comic designs(I.e. look at Starscream next to Metalhawk)

Distracting yeah but funnily so.

Final rematch with Id was less hype than the Gallanza/Magli tag match but it was still hype. Wasn’t expecting him to go full Scalie on us but it was still lit. Now let’s go see how Rolan is handling his baby momma Lilith

Man this last stretch(?) of Relink is really firing off on all cylinders. From slaughtering waves of Avia cronies to piloting a fucking mech to taking down other mechs and an airship with said mech this shit is lit.

Biggest shout out to Gallanza and Maglielle’s tag team boss. Without a doubt thee hardest boss encounter I’ve had yet(I had to use a revive potion for the first time in 8 chapters). Who knew hornhead’s rampaging cross with dark pint’s magic spam would cause me such a fucking headache. Top tier, make them fucking playable Cygames.

Y’ know the more I go through Rackam’s Fate Episodes, the more I realize the guy is just Balthier but actually cool.

Ok Rolan’s an astral(which to my understanding are the Ones Who Came Before of this world) who luckily isn’t a douche like the rest and he and baby mama Lilith have drama ancient beef. Neat. At least he didn’t betray me like I was expecting him to.

Finally got to have a 1-on-4 with Lilith. It’s a hopeless boss fight but best believe I was trying my best to stomp that bitch out. Listenin to that deluded broad yammer on about the so called “Salvation” she’s gonna bring made me wanna puke! Especially since she had the nerve to look down on the team as nothing but puppets.

I swear heroes should get hazard pay for listening to villainous yapping!

Excavallion may had the most spectacle of the Primeval whatever’s so far but I think Vulcan Bolla is my favorite fight. Giant magma Porunga creates a frantic match with his wide sweeping attacks and the literal, unironic waves of lava he flings at us. Combine that with the fact we gotta team with that asshole Id and you’ve got a pretty fun brawl.

What comes next tho…

Y’know if I had one surefire complaint with Granblue Relink, it’s that the selection of recruitable crewmates is kinda dull. I already copped Vaseraga(he’s my hard pipe hittin nigga) and the only other ones that seem remotely appealing is Siegfried. I may get Percival because he looks kinda cool and I hear Vane is busted but everyone else? Snoozefest.

Hope they bring in more characters. Bring on the homie Soriz, my baby girl Zooey, or Eustace, or…. Idk that sheep girl who has a bunch of Terry Bogard references in her moveset. Just something more interesting!

Ok there was no part of me that was expecting Excavallion to be this giant, automaton, Shadow of the Colossus type boss. You gotta shoot him, cripple him, climb him and destroy his core. Basic giant boss fight stratagem but it sooooooo cool! He’s got missiles he’s got a giant fucking arm cannon his core shoots frickin laser beams! It’s cliche but it’s goated! That’s what I love about this game so far, despite being the most predictable shit I’ve seen it’s still gets my gears GOIN!

Right hand to god this might be my game of the year
