Margot Robbie saying Barbie is asexual because she doesn’t have genitals has the same vibe as robots/aliens being non binary because they don’t have the human concept of gender. It feels like it’s based on a technicality. It feels like they don’t understand how real people experience these identities.

trans men who wear feminine clothing (because fuck the idea that men have to dress a certain way to be "real men") 🤝 trans men who refuse to wear feminine clothing (because fuck everyone who's been trying to force you to tone down your masculinity and "accept" being feminine your whole life):
being so strong and rad as hell and not needing to change a single damned thing about their gender presentation

Headcanon that once Hugo got a bunch of period products to give to Nuru for the journey to be supportive but he didn't know Nuru's trans. So he holds out the pads and Nuru looks and them and slowly opens her mouth but before she can say anything Varian swoops by and just yoinks the pads like "THANKS I NEEDED THESE"

when i was a kid i found this european comic from the 80s about a tribe of smurf-like little guys living in the woods who were agender (but male presenting, sort of) for most of the year, and then during their mating season one of them would randomly become female and all the others would be male. and they would all flock to her and give her gifts and attempt to seduce her, and she would blush and be like "heehee!" and then pick one to go into the bushes with her (you know.)
anyway i think reading that just as i was hitting puberty permanently altered my brain chemistry

just watched a video that came up on my recommended of a young woman who identifies as nonbinary talking about things that were gender-affirming to her and one of them was that when she thinks of herself as a masculine woman she feels bad, ugly, and just “eugh” but when she thinks of herself as a feminine boy or a boy with some girlish features she feels really good about herself, even though she says in the video herself that she looks the same regardless of how she perceives herself. i just don’t understand how the internalized misogyny of it all isn’t just OBVIOUS for these women

Just making my own post bc this is my own personal issue
But some of y'all in this community are still really weird and/or dismissive of non-binary people
Especially with treating it like it's male/female-lite or a third gender or trying to fit it in some sort of binary box when it's none, or only treating certain aesthetic standards as "real" non-binary
And it's annoying af

My dad and I had a really productive conversation about identity and labels and I thought sharing it here would be helpful...
The thing about identities isn't necessarily to tell everybody everything about who you are. It is to communicate what you think is important to share. For instance, I don't think it's important to identify as a vegetarian or any label like that, so I don't apply them to myself, even if the labels apply to what I practice. However, I claim manhood because I value it. I decided that I wanted to communicate my personhood and identity with that label. Take what you like, and leave the rest behind.
You don't need to feel as though you have to have a label for everything if you don't want. You can have a couple labels, you can have a million. It's all about what you decide to share about your personhood. The labels are for you to communicate and relate not only to society, but to yourself.

Its really freeing when “gender is just a construct” really sinks in and you dont see yourself identifying with any pre-existing gender that the answer is “wait I can just make my own gender lol.” So. Hello everyone. Im pupgender now

I know that, as of right now, Lucy and Maximus are the canon relationship in the show (and I like them together)... But I can't help but think that the show has the perfect opportunity to use Dane and Maximus as commentary on the way queer people in the military were treated in that era (40s-50s) and what their lives were like, if they decide to make Dane and Maximus have at least a little thing together...

Also, in response to the "testosterone making people angrier" myth, I've found that, personally, testosterone has given me the self-respect to recognize and call out when my boundaries are being overstepped in ways that I wouldn't have had the courage (or, frankly even liking of myself) to have done before. This is in addition to me working on my trauma responses, but testosterone was the spark that gave me the will to do this in the first place. When I see people sae that as anger and thus is a "bad thing," I wonder how much of that is just people being uncomfortable with us... having boundaries or enforcing them, and that the response to that overstepping is labeled as aggressive anger.
Frankly, I now actually respect myself enough to care when I am being mistreated. It seems that people sometimes take that as a personal failure on my end because I don't think I deserve mistreatment.
Caveat: Anger is a fine emotion, and it is a worthy thing to recognize and honour. I find that the accusation of trans men* and trans masc* people "being angry" on testosterone is a moot point simply because it is often a false accusation which uses anger as a punishment. My issue isn't that we're "angry," but that our perceived anger is used, often, as a transphobic bludgeon to punish those who either want to transition with testosterone or who currently are, and everything in-between.
