Oohhh, you know, I've never played much with the soulmate au concept, but this struck me just right because I can so clearly see the slow, building meltdown that strikes him when that reveal drops.

The mirthless laugh, shaking his head, the hapless gesture to the ceiling before his hands drop. "Of course. Of course it's you. Why wouldn't it be? I mean—Christ, it makes sense, doesn't it? Every single person who was supposed to love me has-has fucked it, so why—" he keeps cutting into this escalating, unsettling laughter. There's nothing funny about it: you're sure that you're watching someone lose the last shred of their sanity in real time. "Why would my 'soulmate'-", he says, miming big, dramatic quotation marks. "-be any different?" That manic grin has shifted into tight baring of his teeth, a vicious sneer. It should be terrifying, but it's hard to focus on anything other than the glassiness of his eyes. The sheer devastating heartbreak of it all, telegraphed clear as day in the way he carries himself. His eyes flare red, sizzling up the tears before they can fall. "And then you really will be all alone," you say. Maybe it's the hopelessness of the moment, maybe it's the shock of learning for yourself that he's supposed to be your one and only, but you feel numb. Frayed in a way you didn't know you could be. The crimson light of his eyes disappears in an instant, revealing surprise, followed by a wounded kind of look, before that familiar seething rage returns. "We'll see about that."

oh fack.... just had my biweekly reminder that jonathan has only ever wanted to protect will from harm, offer him a safe space, and encourage him to love what he loves without shame, and it's all of that which literally saves will's life and keeps him safe when he's in the upside down and later in the shed scene.... will singing "should i stay or should i go" his favorite song which jonathan first showed him... will hiding out in castle byers which jonathan built with/for him.... the song then helping to give will an opening to take back enough control for him to speak to his family in morse code... the shadow monster + vecna + lonnie all symbolizing forced conformity vs jonathan protecting will from that time and time again by being there for him, seeing him, and loving him as he is... jonathan carries so much guilt because he feels like he's never there when will needs it most, but it's his love for will that kept will alive.... he feels like it's his fault that will was kidnapped, that he should've been there for him that night and onward, but he was there for him! he was with him the whole time, helping and protecting him as he always has!!! when stranded alone in a world so dark and so cold and full of monsters, will used the tools his brother had given him to protect himself... i just... they're so... 🥺 THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUUUUUCH 😭😭😭😭

I think Aziraphale ultimately chose his and Crowley's side. Because it only looks like he's leaving or/and they're breaking up, Crowley's phrase is also understandable, but Zira chose the path to protect their side

IMHO, he considers it necessary and right to protect his beloved demon from interference in their lives, not that we haven’t seen what Hell and Heaven are capable of. And the fact that Paradise has already done something bad to Crowley once probably still worries Angel...

Do you think that wr Christopher had a “type” prior to pretty? Like I don’t think he was exclusive with whatever his type was for but I can also imagine him not having dated someone with pretty’s body type before. Not because of any phobia but just cause he just hadn’t or it’s just who he was set up with. So like when he met pretty for the first time, when it clicked that this was his mate one of his only thoughts about her body besides his physical attraction is just excited because there was just more to love.

Like man loves his soft squish mate and the fact he can squish her. Idk if that makes sense I hope it does. Man just loves pretty in every context and form and I want what they have

anyway, this is LONG. i got carried away, so please bear with me:

i don't think he had a type! or i guess the more accurate statement is that he wasn't aware that he had a type.

wr!chris is very people driven. i don't think he cared much about how his partners looked like as long as they were someone he clicked with. although i do think that he probably enjoyed it a lot when his partners had big thighs, for.... obvious reasons.

see, the mind of someone like him works a bit differently when it comes to physical attraction, right? so he most likely looked at curvier people and found himself appreciating the way they looked, but not necessarily going bark bark awoooga, if you know what i mean.

i guess a person with big thighs generally also comes with a tummy and other more... fleshier parts. if he was seeing someone with these attributes, i'm sure he thoroughly enjoyed them, even when back then he might've reasoned it was because he really liked that person he was with. i do think it's possible that he never dated someone that looked just like our prettiest mum, though.

i think also that it wasn't until he met pretty that he became aware that he had a type and that his body reacted to it. like, i'm sure it didn't take long after they met for him to find himself on some p*rn site like "chubby girl amateur" or looking for something similar enough lol

tbh in general wr!chris probably hadn't dated much before pretty. you can probably count former partners with one hand, but i suppose that small pool might've been diverse enough that he never suspected he had a type.

with that being said, even if he wasn't aware, i feel like someone close to him, like changbin, most definitely noticed that chris had his preferences (because after seeing your long-time friend almost give himself whiplash when he turned back to look at someone that walked by was probably a good giveaway that something was going on lol).

ultimately, pretty was born to be his mate, right? her physical appearance could change and he'd still love her with his whole heart, but if he had a say (which he doesn't, because she's her own person and he knows this, but if he had a say...), her current appearance (chubby, fat, curvy, thick, however you wanna call it) is very much his preference. which makes me believe that it's very likely that she'll always be like this.

i suppose more fat means more to squish and grab and kiss and nibble, as well as more cushioning for when he allows himself to be a bit rougher to appease the horny dog controlling his brain. and i love that for him.

It's already known that in Sonic Frontiers the Ancients piloting the Titans are supposed to parallel Sonic and his friends, (based on how they act/what they do, and even their voices), it's obviously intentional since each of Sonic's friends parallels the pilot from the Island they were stuck on (Amy– Giganto, Knuckles– Wyvern, Tails– Knight; and then Sonic as Supreme's pilot)

But doesn't that make the gang Soulmates in a way? (Though ig it's more soulmates like the Elements of Harmony than straight up reincarnation)

I'm just so intrigued by the implications of this (Especially since I'm not expecting it to ever get addressed) What are the odds, right? That the Ancients who lived like millions of years ago would just happen to have a group of four heroes who have relatively similar personalities to the four heroic friends who are living now and are heavily involved with the Chaos Emeralds that the Ancients brought to this planet.

Did the Cyberspace put Amy, Knuckles and Tails on those specific islands because it sensed their connection to the respective Titans? Did the Chaos Emeralds somehow orchestrated the fact that each of them was not only born, but specifically born in the image of those pilots? Like what does this all meeeeean.

Every time I see the English translation of a certain Clear Card panel with Touyuki appearing on my TL I want to pull my hair because that line was mistranslated so, so badly and people are making speculations and going nuts about it in the tags and it's all based on something that doesn't exists because that's not what Touya says, not at all. Like, not even remotely. It's also so out of character for him to say something like that, I don't know how his fans don't realize something is off in that line.

One day I will compile those translation mistakes in one giant google sheet or something, I need to turn this into a mission because it's honestly so irritating to see how riddled with mistakes this localization is, sometimes to the point of messing with important parts of the plot. I don't see them releasing a decently translated edition in the near future, so it's all I can do to give back some respect to the story. Clamp are aware of the translation mistakes and how they change the perception of the story for the foreign readers, just as they are aware of the posts I've made about them over the years (they talked about this in a Space long time ago, and I still cherish that mention in my heart with pride). But there was basically nothing they could do at the time, if not suggesting the English readers to check the posts mentioning the translation differences. That's great and all, I'm glad I have their blessing but this is also not really how ideally one should read a story. My posts are long and filled with personal comments and maybe that would deter many people from checking out what a certain line actually says, so I need to find a quicker and easier way. Also, I started to do those only from chapter 40 onwards (and in the beginning I was way overzealous, I would need to revise) and this panel I'm mentioning above is part of the butchery they did in the first volumes, which weren't covered by my posts yet.

syd's pushing here where she shouldn't, and it's her impatience rocking through again -- "can we jam on it later?" "later is better for me chef" -- carmy says it multiple times and she just speaks right through him. syd's pattern seems to be no confidence -> success -> praise from carmy -> pushing too fast and making mistakes -> blowup -> no confidence. it's an understandable cycle, but it needs to get broken

carmy's lack of confidence in the to-go is well founded -- they're understaffed, 2 hours to service, and it is not the time to talk about risotto

"hey, listen to me, please" he again shows his style isn't shouty and angry, when he's working he's patient and firm; she takes his listing out her strengths and weaknesses as a pejorative sort of thing, but it's not -- he's letting her know he knows how she operates and that she's going to have to give the grace she wants. this was a fantastic exchange, but you can see that it stings her a little in her pride, and so we're definitely gonna see it come up again

why?

because for sydney, any comment by carmy is personal. his praise lifts her up, his critique -- or even just him saying that they'll work on a problem together later, like here -- is a brush off and an insult. their relationship is more intimate (emotionally, not physically) than it should be at this point, mostly because they fit so well together, but they're still employer/employee, which complicates things

his answer to why he called her past places of work being "because your resume is excellent and this place is not" is so good for so many reasons. it's a bit of praise that syd doesn't even react to (because she's worried about what people said about her/why carmy was 'checking up' on her); it shows carmy does due dilligence and thinks through every decision, despite seeming reckless, and -- most importantly -- it shows that he meant his question from ep1 of "why are you here" seriously, and that when he wasn't satisfied with the answer she gave, he went looking for one that would satisfy him

if you ask me, it's another hint to the viewer as well that syd lied about her connection to the Beef, but that could just be my own bias

and when she starts saying "you're saying that's why my business failed" etc etc carmy's genuine confusion at how she got there with his immediate "that's not what i'm saying, no, no -- i'm saying give me a minute" is so so good

it's a shame that syd doesn't hear it and her obvious impatience/irritation when Carmy has to leave as he's explaining himself -- excellent work on his part! shows he's learned from their ep 3 heart to heart! -- just wipes any good feelings she had. her face is so impatient as Carmy's trying to explain where he's coming from that i know trouble is brewing, and it's going to explode. ep 6 out of 8? yeah we're about to have a massive blowup, that's where the pacing's at
