I'LL be evil i’ll take one for the team. what the actual fuck is mcr doing. its literally such a disservice to their fans to operate like this without like ANY communication... leaving people guessing and wondering for like 4 years now. and yes obviously they can do whatever they want theyre MCR but at a certain point it just feels so hollow and weird. how dare you an avid fan who's dropped >$500 on tickets directly funding their children's college tuition DARE pry or even ASK about the future of your favorite band after theyve "come back" from the break. for 4 years now. nurse please!

still thinking about how nine said that sonic was only saving the other variants because he felt guilty about what he did, that he was responsible for all of that so that was his way of "redeeming himself" idk why but that really got to me

#i feel like nine was kinda ''forgiven'' too fast? not that i dont think he should be forgiven but like #i wish we got more time to see how the others interacted with him after sonic n shadow went home #but after nine believing to be betrayed TWICE by sonic i thought he wasn't gonna trust him again that fast #ofc yeah its a cartoon made for mostly kids but leave me alone okay i just wanna get the thoughts out of my head #nine literally grew up with no one #he never had a friend #never had someone to stand up for him or just take care of him in general #and then he meets sonic and eventually gets ''betrayed'' by him twice n then he has to leave n suddenly hes alone again?#i wonder if he's actually going to live in the grim alone like he wanted to or if the others are going to welcome him again #maybe not that fast #maybe they'll still be suspicious of him which is valid i guess #idk i have so many questions about that ending #sonic prime spoilers #bat talks

I don't really want to deal with the responsibilities or the business side of the industry that comes with operating my own private practice...but the idea of setting my own hours, being in charge of my own vacation time and how much of it I take does...sound appealing

the cost of starting up a private practice is high and there's a lot of expenses in maintaining it, not to mention all the liability you take on, and you don't get company benefits so you have to pay for your own insurances, but the freedom...the freedom is unmatched.

#it's not possible right out the gate anyways #I'll do my time for at least five if not ten years working for a hospital or company (probably hospital)#hopefully get my loans forgiven (most hospitals are 501c3 non-profits so they'll do that)#and then maybe I'll think about private practice...#the ability to basically do whatever the fuck I want for vacation time as early as my forties is..............definitely appealing I'm ngl

I think it would be interesting if there was like, a documentary or smth like a deep dive focused on the phenomenon I like to dub the "monkey's paw" of the internet which is where a content creator quickly rises to fame/quickly becomes popular but are then pitted against so much slander, controversies, hate, and/or discourse that it either ruins that person's content creating career or damages it to a degree that will never be fixed

because it keeps happening. over and over I've seen content creators suddenly rise out of the depths and gain masses of followers only for it to topple like a poorly-played jenga tower only a few years later due to controversies and hate. meanwhile, other content creators build a following in a slow, steady way where while they might not be that known, the people who do know them support them wholeheartedly.

And I want to know WHY this keeps happening. I have a lot of theories on this (jealousy of success breeding extreme hate, sudden fame clouding judgement and leading to poor decisions, the lack of trust the apprehension more and more people are having towards newer famous people nowadays, etc) but it would be nice to once day get more than just these theories on why this keeps happening, and if this "trend" will ever stop or just get worse as time progresses

#one of the biggest reasons I think this happens honestly is because of this:#the ccs that build followings over a span of years and years before achieving 'popularity' have a more solid community #that's been built on a strong and steady foundation of mutual trust and respect #there's less of a gap between the creator and the viewer.#meanwhile the ccs that blow up early don't have this luxury for the most part. they become popular so fast and so rapidly #there's not enough time to establish that strong foundation that the 'smaller' ccs already have #and there's a large gap between cc and the fans as the cc is idolized and the cc can't keep up with the sheer number of fans to establish a #truer connection with them. like sure they'll get fanart and fan content and whatnot. but it doesn't feel the same #so when a 'smaller' cc makes a mistake they're more likely to be forgiven bc of that stronger community and connection #but when the quick-to-rise cc makes a mistake? combining what I said earlier with the sheer amount of people who hate the cc #just for getting famous quickly... best case scenario there's just mild discourse and 'antis' yelling they knew the cc was the devil or smt #worst case scenario.... well. we've all seen stuff like that happen on multiple occasions. haven't we?

idk if i have the proper language to articulate this but the way people in fandom spaces use “white” as a means of leverage to make a point or win an argument is so incredibly frustrating. the constant positioning of white cishet men as opposed to women, when women can also be.... white, cis, and het? the framing of the most privileged man in the room in opposition to women, leaving out the fact that a white cishet woman is treated very differently to a queer woman of color. you can make an argument about sexism and misogyny without needing to bring race into it. if you do want to bring race into it, we need to have the conversation about how fandom also easily forgives and hand waves away white female characters who have been racist, while villainizing women of color who conflict with them.

#if you are not trying to have a conversation about race you do not need to specify white #bc what you're actually doing is compiling a list of privileged identities to put before 'man' so you feel more justified dunking on him #it's not helpful and frankly it's reductive of all the ways white women perpetuate racism and get let off the hook for it #the idea that racism isn't as bad when it comes from a woman #or that it's more palatable and can be more easily forgiven #is exactly why this shit is so insidious #the efforts to flatten all womens' experiences down to just 'women' while positioning them against the most privileged man in the room.....#hate to break it to y'all but i have very little in common w white women us both being women does nothing for me #bc these women will very rarely stray from upholding white supremacy to ACTUALLY fight for women #they'll fight for women just as long as it doesn't threaten their power which is their whiteness #and the thing you're so mad at people for doing to male characters is exactly what you do to white women #that is how woc feel about y'all lmfao #people always want to unpack sexism and misogyny but it's crickets when we want to talk about racism lol i wonder why #the silence is very telling is all i'll say #neha rambles

Hate seeing that one post that crops up from time to time talking about how Zuko's redemption (because of course his redemption arc is the literal only good one to ever exist, obviously, it's the ONLY good one that anyone ever talks about 🙄) works because he was never that evil or that bad. Obviously the only way anyone can be redeemed is if they never did anything that bad in the first place. That way it doesn't challenge the audience too much.

#sigh.#s says some words #obligatory reminder that i'm still an su stan so maybe that means my view of redemption is bullshit. idk #but i still stand by the fact that *any* character can be redeemed no matter how bad they are. it's all just dependent on the writing #does the character motivation for deciding to make a change make sense? is it a motivation that's solid enough to believe they'll stay #on this good path?#(and even the latter isn't necessary if the intention is to show that they're going to backslide/that this isn't going to last)#(someone can go back to old habits! it's fine to depict that too)#also redemption does not always equal forgiveness. a character can make the choice to be better without having to be forgiven by the #people they've wronged #anyway zuko's arc isn't the only good redemption arc to exist kthxbai

Hmm...I have a LOT of fondness for found family and siblinghood. But I think a real favorite of mine is what's found in Trying Out a Maybe, which I still consider one of my best fics...the theme of seconds chances as a rebirth, and cycles of pain as a form of death, really stuck with me. Your road is ending and ending and ending, so you choose a new one, and in doing so become a new self. That speaks to me.

sorry to sound like the dumbest person alive but i did not realize that student loans start accruing interest while you're still in school. i thought it didn't start until you graduated. like how am i still in school and i've already accumulated almost $2000 just in interest 🤪

#to put things in perspective my annual salary is only slightly more than what i owe in loans #but everything will be fine i'm gonna get loan assistance from my school #and if i make payments for 10 years they'll be forgiven #also my mom says my grandparents will probably pay off my loans for me anyway but im not gonna count on that

the biggest cruelty of it all is that pudding was conceived on purpose, her dad is out of the picture ( either dead or just hanging out with his tribe ) so she doesn't have anyone around looking like her or telling her that there's nothing wrong with the way she looks. linlin isolated her and made sure that the "all races can live happily together" never applied to pudding simply because it's best to have a scaredy cat of a daughter than one that flips you off every two seconds and wouldn't hesitate to commit treason. and i think it's so funny in the end she followed in the footsteps of her older sisters and just decided that if mama wanted it all then she would have gotten nothing at all

#in her tag i always see people talk about how the straw hats let her off thw hook too easily but in the end she let them escape #and it's not like they'll ever cross paths again (at least that's what it was assumed at the time anyway) she doesn't want their forgivenes #it's not even a redemption arc really bc that's who she is and at the very least letting them go is what sets the path to her freedom #me looking at blackbeard like pls don't kill her she's just illiterate /j #dev.

The Gang React to You Ignoring Them

Lucifer

"How childish. They'll have forgotten by the end of the day."

By the end of the day, however, Lucifer has reached his fucking limit. But his pride will not only prevent him from begging you to knock it off-- it will prevent him from even acknowledging in your presence that he is remotely bothered.

He probably goes to vent to Diavolo -- that is to say, visit him for tea and offhandedly comment about your immaturity for pulling such a stunt, knowing that he'll just contact you and beg for him.

Mammon

"Oh no you don't! MC! MC! MC! MC! MC! Hey! MC! MC! Hey! MC!"

He will follow you wherever you go. At first he thinks he's hilarious, being an absolute pain in the ass, but the longer it goes on, the more dejected he gets. His energy level tanks and soon he's just lying on top of the nearest piece of furniture and whining for you to stop it.

If you manage to get him off of you long enough to escape him, he will just text you.

Mammon: MC Mammon: MC Mammon: Hey MC Mammon: Hey Mammon: MC

If you block him, he will just text someone else until that person becomes so annoyed that THEY beg you to stop.

When you finally give in, he pretends like he didn't even care that much. It was just a little joke between pals, right? Haha!

Leviathan

"So this is how easy it is for you to just toss me aside like a piece of garbage."

Levi will take this extremely personally. Depending on why you're ignoring him, he might blame himself and enter a spiral of self-hate. He'll hole up in his room, refusing to leave until you finally come in and either apologize or forgive him, whichever is appropriate.

He'll spend a few moody minutes acting like it's too late for that, but soon he'll be on the verge of tears, making you to swear on a copy of The Tale of the Seven Lords that you will never pull that kind of thing again.

Satan

"Really? Is this what it's come to? You understand how pathetic this makes you look, don't you?"

Like Lucifer, he won't be too bothered at first, assuming you'll get over things relatively soon. But if nothing has changed within an hour or two, he'll start to get testy. He'll send a text, sit in the same room as you and stare a hole through your head, and if you're still ignoring him after a while of that, he'll storm up to his room.

Depending on how emotionally charged the incident was that led to you ignoring him, he will be more or less capable of fending off an explosion of temper. Most likely, any acknowledgement you toss his way will ease the tension, so it might be a good idea to just shoot him a text asking him not to destroy the house, please.

Asmodeus

"But it's impossible to ignore me! You can't look away from a face like mine! See?"

I don't think you can ignore Asmo. Being the literal Avatar of Lust with powers to charm and an intense need to be admired and adored, he simply exudes an aura that demands attention. You should probably come up with a different strategy of attack.

Beelzebub

"...Are you mad at me?"

Why would you do that to him? How could you be so cruel?

If you did do it, it would probably confuse and sadden him. Confusion and sorrow both make him feel hungry, so he will go ahead and start eating his feelings within an hour of the silent treatment. Even if you're content to allow this to continue, the other six demons in the house aren't, and you will ultimately have no choice but to make up with Beel.

Belphegor

belphie.exe has stopped responding

Considering you'd already forgiven him for the whole murder thing, he can't comprehend how you've become so mad at him that you'd go so far as to give him the cold shoulder. He won't know how to respond at first, but he will quickly become an angry, sulky ball curled up under the blankets on his bed. If it takes more than a few hours for you to come crawling back to him, things will start to change. Belphie will return to the common areas of the house, acting mostly the same as usual, and he will not spare you a second glance. Even if you stop ignoring him, well, two can play this game, and Belphie is absolutely petty enough to drag this one out.

After a day or two of you trying to talk to him, he'll relent. He'll feel kind of guilty, having worked through most of his anger while ignoring you. He'll probably text you a lot for the next day or two, just to ease some of his anxieties.

Diavolo

"I don't understand."

You can't do that. That's illegal. Next character.

Barbatos

"Hehe. What a troublemaker."

Barbatos likes it when you ignore him sometimes.

Barbatos will not change his behavior at all, ever. You could spend the rest of your life ignoring him, and he would simply accept it as one of those unfortunate circumstances life sometimes throws his way. He would prefer it if things didn't go down that way, though. Basically, he'll let you come to him whenever you've gotten over whatever it is you're upset about. What a king.

Solomon

"Hmm? Are you sure that's a good idea?"

Solomon will act pretty much the same as usual around you too. He'll point out that you're ignoring him to whoever else happens to be around and bemoan the situation, but he won't actively appeal to you. Instead, he'll orchestrate a scenario that traps you in a situation where he is the only person you can go to for help. As soon as you do that, he'll act as if nothing ever happened. If you resume the silent treatment, well, he can always come up with another scenario.

Are you still sure it's a good idea?

Simeon

"I didn't realize you were so upset. I'm sorry (that/if) I hurt you."

Simeon will either immediately understand why you are doing this, in which case he will apologize (using "that") or he will have absolutely no idea what's going on, and he'll still apologize (using "if") to be on the safe side.

If you don't show any signs of breaking, he'll enlist Luke's help to make you an apology dessert of some sort. And how can you stay mad at him when he's offering you angel food cake with such a sad expression?

Luke

😧😠😣🥺😢

Wh- Whaaa...?! How dare you ignore him! That's so mean! It must be all the demonic influences rubbing off on you! Stop it! Stop it or he's going to tell Simeon!

And then he'll go and tell Simeon. Simeon will probably tell him to just wait until you've calmed down. If he thinks you're being unreasonable, though, he'll probably have a talk with you himself. Really? Pulling the silent treatment on an actual child? Sure, he's a millennium old, but he's still a child.
