love the drawings you've been making for desmond and alex, what's ghosts in the machine? first i see them crawling out of your screen and now everyone's angels devils or monsters, i don't know if i'm missing something!

ah man, think it's time to try to summarize everything and apologize LMAO;; ty for asking though, i should've made things less confusing! this will be a Pretty lengthy post for irl context/backstory and "actual au" info so be ready if you want to read everything!

(for starters, the title's just a pun on the philosophical phrase "ghost in the machine" interpreted Literally and taking inspiration from clay in ac revelations, since he Was a ghost in a machine and jokingly called "my guardian angel" by des, haha)

the short version: basically, "ghosts in the machine" is what i've called the au(?) where i just doodle silly "artist talking to her art muse(s)" stuff like these kinds of comics instead w me,, the ""art muse"" is whatever i'm hyperfixated on (currently desmond, the assassin brotherhood as a whole, and alex/prototype lmao):

the Full LONG version: when replaying prototype and ac awhile back, i also posted fanart on LOFTER (china’s local version of tumblr) and made a mainlander mutual/friend who drew fanart too, like her oc w the assassins in an animal shapeshifter 刺客信条乙女向 (assassin’s creed otome) au! as i’m vietnamese-american and she’s chinese, we use translators and send pictures/doodles to talk about the games and our days, and when i was replaying prototype, she started ac2 too and sent me this as commentary:

from there, whenever we’d text or send pics/art, it became a running joke of sorts to also include our ""game companions"" like that fanfiction thing of “author’s note where the author and fictional characters comment on the situation and/or talk to each other”, and my doodles also became us or our computers being accompanied by them LMAO;; that’s pretty much the origin and setting of the particular doodles; just the daily shenanigans and art struggles of an artist (me and her) talking to their art muses (characters from special interests) haunting them and their computers

as for the "supernatural" aspects, at some point desmond and alex got drawn an as angel and devil because i’ve had ridiculous “protected by a guardian angel” luck lately like surviving a car crash unharmed, they’re my favorites and associated with me, the motifs match the duo, etc, it's not really that deep and/or for a "Lore Reason";;

likewise, the brotherhood got drawn as ghosts to emphasize the ��we/our computers are haunted by them” joke more, along with how my friend and i are both asian and used to like ghosts and ancestral worship casually being a part of our lives already LMAO (ig in the context of the au then, they’re basically desmond’s ancestral spirits disney-mulan-style that freeload off of his vietnamese protectee (me) for both spiritual veneration or "worship" like staying relevant in this modern age via fanart)

for example, i'm also considering drawing like altair, ezio, connor, and edward as the vietnamese four holy beasts just to play around, things like that! there's no special lore reason aside from just personal thoughts and "oh that'd be fun to draw", they just thematically fit well being four prominent “legends” and being desmond's ancestors, etc,, haha

at the end of the day, "ghosts in the machine" are just silly shenanigans of me drawing what's on my mind, from who/what i'm hyperfixated on (aka impromptu art muses for me), any thoughts/frustrations i have w daily life or drawing stuff,, and "hm this sounds cool, i could draw this design or Cool Thing" stuff. it's not really an au persay (plus i still really cringe and feel self-consciously wary about the embarrassing self-insert aspect of all this, help lmao), it’s just,, just silly personal scribblings that are kind of sharing an inside joke to everyone now, but i'm happy to know people still humor these silly drawings and are curious if there's more to it, thank you!

“Mesial. Front surface of a tooth. Distal is the back surface.” You mumbled to yourself, double checking your notes to make sure you were correct. A sudden knock interrupted your revision. The familiar beat against the door told you exactly who it would be (even his knocks had rhythm) but all the same you were a little surprised that Roger had come to your dorm room. “You should be studying.” you said once you’d let him in, though you softened the words with a quick kiss. “I was trying to, but then I thought some hands-on research would probably help it all make better sense.” As he spoke, Roger turned and wrapped his arms around your waste, pulling your hips to his and leaving you with no doubt what sort of research he meant. You didn’t want to encourage his behaviour, but it was hard to resist as he kissed you properly. It took a moment to clear your mind of his lips and everything they were capable of, but you somehow found the power to break the kiss, though you let him keep hold of your hips for now “We need to study, Rog.” “Pfft, I’m thinking of changing courses anyway.” “I know but you should still do some study for this exam in case you can’t get into a new course straight away. Failing would be really bad. You can stay here though and study with me. We can quiz each other!” Roger raised an eyebrow flirtatiously. “Not that,” you laughed, perfectly used to (and very grateful for) your boyfriend’s libido. “You know there’s this theory that sex can boost brain performance. Maybe if we fucked it’d help me focus on dentistry.” You rolled your eyes and Roger poked his tongue out as a comeback. “It wouldn’t just be for me though. You’d get a brain boost too.” Before you say anything about his attempts at seduction Roger continued, “Besides, I’ve tried studying. Nothing’s sticking. We’re at the S1 finale. Hard to believe. Thank you all for staying on this journey with me it’s been super rewarding. When I started didn't expected the support I got. Also been fun to fill the hiatus with this since we're all waiting for S6. Not sure when this strike will end. So fun to rewatch the series this way. Rewatching s1 with analytical eyes and knowing where they are now has been eye opening. I’ve seen a lot of people writing about how writers said Chenford wasn’t meant to happen this early on. Idk that’s true with the incredible foundation that has been laid in s1.

The beautiful base that continues to solidly with each ep. Especially this finale. I think the finale is when if you hadn’t been shipping them before you were after this ep. I was all in day one I just knew it would be a slow burn before we got there. Also Eric and Melissa are amazing together. Drew me in right away. Their chemistry is unparalleled. Can’t deny that. Like I said in my first review I started watching for Nathan and Eric. Never knowing the beautiful ship I was gonna get along the way. Anyways off to the finale we go :)

1x20 freefall

It’s the week of their big test. It decides whether or not they get to continue on in the FTO program. You can get a score as low as an 80 and pass. To the T.O.’s that’s a fail. Tim tells a Lucy if she gets anything less than a 93 it’s an insult to him LOL Lucy doesn’t even let it phase her how far we’ve come. She continues on asking what he’s going to do with all his free time when she passes?

Tim is confused at first then realizes she’s talking about her daily evals. She suggests a book club haha Tim as far as he’s come is still Tim in T.O. mode around others. Gotta keep up the hard ass act. Tells her ‘Whether I evaluate you daily or weekly. I will continue to judge you every minute.’ haha damn Tim way to shut down her playful banter lmao

First call of the day for our lovely duo is at a psychic shop. Silent alarm has been tripped. Guy is going after this psychic because she ‘saw’ he killed his wife and is losing it on her. It was a fluke she figured it out and she says as much haha Afterwards she brazenly hits on Tim and he has no idea how to handle it.

His embarrassed face is everything. He wasn’t expecting that at all. It’s like he doesn’t know he is gorgeous ass man. The way he looks back at Lucy is priceless. Like please help me baha Lucy is enjoying it immensely. Her face says it all I’m dying. She isn’t helping him out of this one. He awkwardly walks away from the psychic it’s too damn funny. Tim Bradford left speechless. What world we live in haha

After a light start to their day it comes to serious halt. There’s a deadly virus and possible outbreak they all have to prevent. This came from the dead body Nolan and Bishop found earlier at the bus station. He was tied into the terrorist threat. This postpones their test naturally. Lucy and Tim are tasked with talking to one of the citizens that took same bus as this guy.

As they’re rolling up to this guys house Lucy says she thought the test was going to be the most stressful part of her day. Tim tells her best case scenario it’s tomorrows problem. Lucy makes a nervous joke 'What’s worst case scenario? Never mind don’t answer that' haha Oh Lucy the most stressful part of your day starts now.

The gentleman thinks they’re there to bring back his luggage. Tim enters the bedroom without Lucy. They tell Pete they are there just to interview him. He pulls out the bag he grabbed by mistake and shows Tim the ‘weird science equipment ‘inside. That he cut his finger on it looking for an address. Tim’s red flags are immediately up when he says this. Lucy can instantly tell something is up but Tim tells her to stay at bay. First instinct is always to protect her. Tim see’s the guys cut finger and alarm bells are going off for him. Lucy calls it in while she waits outside the bedroom for Tim.

The guy then coughs up blood on Tim. He freezes and looks the most panicked I've ever seen him. I LOVE how Eric can express so much with just a look. He's such a good actor I can not. After he collects himself a bit he hears Lucy coming to check on him and shuts the door instantly. Despite Lucy yelling ‘No!’ When he does.

Tim refuses to let her be around whatever this is even a second. Creating an immediate barrier to keep Lucy safe. He locks the door to keep her out there. Pete starts to freak out. Tim tells Pete that his partner has called an ambulance for them. Makes me happy while he’s trying to keep this guy calm he calls Lucy his ‘partner’ not his rookie but his partner. It’s the little things ❤️ Lucy is panicking like crazy on the other side of this door. She wants to be let in to help him. It’s killing her they’re separated right now.

Lucy is begging him to leave that guy in there and join her outside. Tim being the honorable man he is refuses to. Tells her they need to keep this as contained as possible. Lucy is panic stricken and wants to help him but is trapped outside. Tim is doing his best to keep her calm. The words he says I think are for them both. He just had blood spewed onto him. Tim is being as calm as one could be in that type of situation.

He’s the one in danger and his first thought is to put Lucy at ease. To try and keep her calm. To 'keep her head in the game' If she could see his face as he says these things...She would see how very not fine he is. The most rattled we’ve seen him the entire season. This moment and honestly this entire episode is definitely another huge crack in his wall with her. Letting that Lucy light seep in just a little bit more.

The CDC finally arrive and they set up a quarantine zone much to Lucy's dismay. She’s on the edge and wants to get Tim out of there ASAP. Can’t stand the idea of him sitting in there for an hour or more while they wait for the vaccine. Dr. Morgan asks him if she can put him to work while he’s in there. Tim says yes. Lucy tells him to please be careful while he’s in there. Such a worried wifey.

Tim uses his body cam to help them see inside the bag more. They figure out how they’re going to spread it through a mist fan. As Tim continues to search the bag they see Pete lifting a chair. Lucy freaks out and yells for Tim to watch out. All they see is him getting knocked out. Lucy is losing her mind outside not knowing what’s happening in that room. The absolute terror in her voice. My heart. How helpless she feels on the other side of that door.

Tim wakes up inches from the blood stain on the carpet rolling toward him. He’s able to get away from it and tases Pete. After that Tim gets him locked to the bed frame. All the while Lucy is losing it outside. Desperate to hear from him. Calling out his name multiple times. Begs Tim to answer her. She is out of her mind with worry. If she was allowed to break that door down she would.

Tim finally responds to Lucy tells her that he’s ok. She asks him if he’s really is. Because she knows him and how he tries to put a strong facade for her sake. Tim attempts to make a joke about it. His voice cracking a bit with worry. Trying to make jokes about this but his armor has been cracked. This a deflection right now more than anything else. His vulnerability coming out of him with her whether he likes it or not.

He can't hide anything from her and and Lucy picks up on his worry quickly. Knows he's attempting to mask how he is really feeling right now. She can hear it in his voice. From there she turns into ultra worried wife mode. She demands they get that damn vaccine here right now. She is losing her patience while he’s trapped in that room without her. Love me some assertive/worried Lucy.

I can't imagine what he is going through all by himself in that room. Poor Tim has to sit there and watch this guy die right in front of him. Can't help the man just has to sit there and watch him die. The look on his face ugh. The utter terror on his face. Lucy is already freaking out if she could see him…she would break down that damn door virus or not and drag him out of there.

Next begins the iconic wall separation scene. As I said earlier if you weren't shipping them before you sure as hell were after this moment. Lucy tells him she just checked with Dr Morgan. That the vaccine is minutes away. Tim instantly knows this is a lie to comfort him. Its here we see a chunk of his wall break off and hit the ground as he compliments her. Naturally she’s going to rib him about it (because she can't actually process when he does compliment her) but it's also to keep his head clear. Just like he's done for her so many times before.

The role reversal is so evident in this scene. Lucy is doing what he normally does for her. Trying to keep him calm by making jokes. Keeping it light. The smile on his face when she ask for it to be in writing is too precious. He needs Lucy and all her sunshine ways right now. He's holding onto to every word she is saying. She comforting/calming him just by being there for him.

This is such a huge moment of vulnerability for Tim. The biggest one of the entire season really. That bond they’ve built up to this point is result of that. Lucy tells him its going be ok that she truly believes that. Tim is so defeated at this point. He doesn't take much stock in her words. Eric and Melissa crush this scene. To have this good of a dynamic with a door between them. My goodness they're amazing. Like I said earlier Eric is incredible with how he conveys what he's feeling with a look. This scene has it in spades. Look at this poor man's face down below. Makes me wanna cry.

You can see his normal resolve is dissolving rapidly. Which is why Lucy is there to keep it intact. Tim looks like he’s on the verge of tears while she’s trying to comfort him. Lucy is trying to be his rock. Its why I think he is spilling his guts to her. He trusts her with his thoughts/feelings. Tim is being the most vulnerable he's ever been with her right now. Telling her everything. That if he ends up showing symptoms he’s not going to allow himself to die that way.

Gotta love Lucy trying to pick up the pieces and keep him together. Being as optimistic as she can while he is hopeless. For him to share such a dark thought is huge. That he would rather kill himself than die like that. He is emotionally exposing himself to her right now. In a way I’m sure he hasn’t since Isabel. This is a massive step for him entrusting her with his thoughts and emotions. Because right now Tim thinks this is it for him. If he's going out he wants to make sure she knows his plans.

Lucy is very aware what he is saying but is trying to talk him out if it. Desperately trying to keep his head level. She finally lets out a tear she's been holding the whole scene. He's considering killing himself and she can't do a damn thing about it. The stress of the situation finally getting to her when she sheds that tear. This is an iconic moment for them. Tim being so openly vulnerable with her and Lucy being there to receive it best way she can. Gah it’s all so good. This scene 'hurts so good' as they say. This moment is a milestone for them and their relationship. Where they go from just TO/Rookie to friends.

The vaccine finally arrives and Lucy tries to follow the doctor in. Dr. Morgan won’t let her since she is not protected. You can tell its killing her to have to stay back. That look they share between them when Dr. Morgan is checking him out. Phew lord. She says he dodged a bullet. The looks in this scene are so telling. These two have a masters in silent communication. That look of worry/panic on her face. She wants to run up and hug him. That clearly isn’t in the cards. So she just intently watches him. Lucy doesn’t take her eyes off him the entire time.

The way he stares back at her and lets her know it’s ok. I’m ok. Even the small smirk towards the end. They just went through something very emotional and intense together. Tim says so much with just a look for her. Yeah he dodged bullet and he did so because of Lucy. She didn't leave his side for a second. He recognizes this and conveys it in a look. Such an intimate moment for them with no words. God I love them.

Before this episode ends Let’s take a moment to enjoy Tim Bradford in a tight white T-shirt shall we? Mmm. Yum. The rest join Lucy and Tim at Pete's house. Having returned from taking down the other culprits. They’re all making jokes now that they know he’s ok. Saying how he’ll refuse to take the ambulance or wheelchair haha

As they’re making their jokes Tim walks to said ambulance. As he does he looks light headed and collapses. All jokes stop and they rush around him. Lucy being the first they hold her back. Thus ends s1 with a cliffhanger.

I think I watched this finale a disgusting amount of times haha I was so eager for s2 and more of Tim/Lucy. To see what happens to Tim in the premiere and all that.

So I combined these two questions, since they're pretty much the same, I hope no one minds, and thank you so much for the questions!!

ART TIPS!

DISCLAIMER: These are just MY opinions and what I typically do and in NO WAY certain rules you have to strictly follow. Art is about having fun and expressing yourself! <3 ALSO ALL ART IN THIS IS MINE THAT I DREW THANK YOU

One thing I started doing about a couple years or so ago is the Silhouette test! Its a huge help when it comes to making poses, because you want the viewer to see what’s happening clearly.

Its also a GREAT way to check if characters look different enough from one another, and be able to tell who is who! Its a common practice when making characters and having a lineup of them! Take my rouge designs for example!

Another great tip for me at least was using the GREYSCALE over an artwork to see the values, as well as limit my color choices. Its always good to see a large variety of shades in an artwork, because it breaks things up easier for the viewers, and overall helps with dimension in an artwork!

Of course you don’t have to do this, but its a life saver when checking for your light sources, and making sure everything matches up nicely. While also helping to make sure the things you want as the focus dont get lost! Having a limited color palette can also help with making sure things don't gettoo complicated! You don't want the viewer to get overwhelmed with what they’re looking at and losing track of the focal point!

A good way to get some more flow into an artwork is through the LINE OF ACTION. Which is just an invisible line you can draw through a character and clearly see what they are doing, and see the MOVEMENT in it!

(I could of done something a bit differently here with Knuckles' arm to help with the flow better ^^")

Its super useful and adds a lot of life to a still image, and its always good to try and push yourself with different lines of actions as well! (Something I myself have to improve on haha!) I always like to think of my artwork as taking a picture of something happening in the moment, it helps me with coming up with more interesting compositions!

These are just a few examples I could think of on the fly, I could go on and on, but I'd probably never answer it this at that rate LMAO!

But remember art is FUN and you should enjoy what you create. of course you should learn the fundamentals, and do studies as well, and ALWAYS have references nearby! But its up to you on how you do that, or when :) Always try to push yourself bit by bit with each new artwork you do, it doesn't have to be something HUGE. But you should see yourself learning something with each artwork you do!

I hope I helped in some way! I'm not a professional, and there is still so much I have to learn as well. But its not a race, and everyone's art journey is going to be different.

Hello!! I love your riara fic! I never thought I would like that ship, but I love the way you write them, so I’m hooked. Read for the jjpope tag, stayed for the amazing writing (although I still love your jjpope crumbs)!

I’m so sad there are only 22 chapters, and I hope you end up writing more, but if you don’t, have you ever thought of writing more for riara in the future? 😊

Hi!! First of all, thank you so much for this message omg :’) I’m so happy that you ventured out into the world of riara, it isn’t for everyone but I like to believe there’s something compelling there! I love hearing how people are pleasantly surprised by it haha

Before I knew about any ships or anything really about obx, I would see bits and pieces of jjpope and fully thought they were together. Or at least would eventually get together because ?? The scenes ?? The pining ?? What was all that for?? There’s smth to be said about public opinion and how that mobilized j*ara to get together and they were cowards to not do anything with jjpope. Granted, like you said, my fic only has crumbs of them 😭 and I would love to write them more into the story or even do a fic for just them

We’re really nearing the end of this fic and I’m blown away by that because I’ve been writing this for a while! I’m just proud that I’ve gotten to this point where I can say that things will be wrapping things up. It’s so exciting getting to these chapters because they were the ones I knew I wanted to write when I initially thought of this fic, it’s sooooo rewarding to get them out now and have you and others comment about enjoying it!! 🫶

But with one door closing another one will inevitably open, as for Riara fics— I’ve got one I’ve been working on! However, it’s a lot different than KRCG which I intentionally kept very light and fun. This new one will be quite controversial because it’s more of a dark fic, darker than my bad habit riara fic at some points and I know that’s everyone’s major issue with riara in the first place. I’ve alluded to it in the past but it takes place in s3 when the plane goes down. Rather than Kiara getting kidnapped by Singh, she’s “rescued” by Rafe and works things to her advantage to plan an escape back to the rest of the pogues. Essentially it’s them being forced to work together since they both have leverage they’re using to be useful to the other person— they get involved in the illegal trades, there are heists, jetting off to various countries for prospective clients, black market business dealings, general politics re: the criminal underbelly of the world, etc. Almost like a mafia au but without Rafe being a suave mafiasso lmao he’s just as out of his depth as Kiara is. I’m having a lot of fun with this one since it’s fully an enemies to lovers and I really enjoy deconstructing K&R’s preconceived notions of one another bit by bit and letting them humanize each other and grapple with what morality means to them. Mainly, it’s just drammmmaaa and them being badass 🥰

I am preparing myself for this to not be as well received with everyone since it’s quite out there and includes all the typical elements of riara that people don’t like, unapologetically and leaning into it even more. But the thought popped into my mind when s3 first came out and drew said that sometimes it feels like he’s on a totally different show than the rest of the cast bc of the scenes he gets, and that never left my mind— it took me a year to plan out the plot and I have so many pages of my notebook covered in moments, plot lines, dialogue, plot twists, drama, reveals that I want to write and now it’s finally happenjng ! So I’m very stoked for it but can understand & respect that people might want to sit this one out!

What is your opinion on other Murder drones ships like Vizzy,Envy,Juzi,Vhad....

Oh boy lmao

So not surprising but I actually don’t ship another ship from MD like I’m too into Nuzi to really be obsessed with other ships but I don’t mind them cause some I actually do like I’m just not crazy over it

Vizzy - This one I like, I can actually see it be a thing. I headcanon V and Lizzy both as lesbians so hey let’s freaking go I’m all up for this, shippers are really nice too

Envy - It’s pretty obvious by now that I don’t really like this one. I just don’t really see them being a couple now, in the past yeah because that’s really where all the nice moments of them are because in the show they’re just so mean to each other, arguing and all that and I don’t want them both to be a relationship where it feels toxic in a way because couples shouldn’t be doing half of the stuff that they do. Even in Episode 5 where N finally got to learn about his past after V has been hiding it for so long (which is probably something we shouldn’t be sweeping under the rug, V’s not a bad person but I won’t lie when I say that she really didn’t handle the whole ‘protecting’ him thing great lmao that just makes him dislike you more girlie) they still go back to being the same that they were before, V ignoring him (rolling her eyes at his goofy jokes and just mostly being on her own or with Tessa) and N tagging with Uzi. It really sucks that there wasn’t a scene where they talked it out and got to actually be friends, I think they should value their friendship and actually start one before it goes further even though chances are that they will never be the same drones they were in that mansion but that’s ok, it’s ok to move on, so I think that they should just stay friends because even I think that they know that they can’t have that bond that they had as workers, if they start a relationship now then it’ll just be pain and V knows that N’s now in love with Uzi so I think we all win if V smooches Lizzy or J and N can smooch Uzi

Juzi - I think I mentioned this before but I don’t really like ships that involve N or Uzi just cause I can’t see them with anyone else (they’re quite literally made for each other) this one I’m kinda skeptical about cause I have no idea how that would go but I respect anyone who likes it, I’ve seen some cool art

Vhad - I remember this one being like the first V ship without N probably cause their only interaction was in the pilot when she was trying to kill him. It’s ok, not my cup of tea but I used to follow artists that shipped it and drew them so I don’t mind it, I still believe in the V is a lesbian hc but we do not hate or judge here. If you like it cool I’d like to see some more art 👍

Taco ballroom dance anon again, hello! I just want to say that I absolutely adore that you drew them dancing!!! Your chibis are so cute!!! I keep going back to stare at it cause it’s so adorable! The “he’s so focused lol” omg so cute!!! Yeah Tom is an absolute king of putting himself in situations and shooting himself in his own foot lol (I say with fond exasperation and affection) The urge to talk and spoil the entire fic before I post is so strong lmao, but I will try to resist! The ballroom dance part is still being written so it’ll be a wip for a while, but you are right that they do get to talk while they practice dancing! At this point in time, Tom doesn’t know Draco’s a time traveler or about his past (future?)etc and Draco won’t directly talk about it (Tom’s figured out that if he doesn’t push for answers but let’s Draco ramble and be chatty he’s more likely to say things that Tom can glean bits and pieces about the other’s past in a more efficient way than asking directly which just makes Draco clam up), but the way Draco talks about things and his mysterious appearance at Hogwarts “to avoid the chaos on the continent with Grindelwald” as his official story to the student body, Tom sort of thinks everyone Draco knew is most likely dead or murdered though there might be more to it, Tom’s got his own theories about all of that but nothing conclusive, but when they’re dancing Draco fondly talks about how it was his parents who taught him to dance and shares a cute little story about it with Tom

Idk why but I’m thinking of my dark matter hive headcanon again

I kinda wanna ramble sooooooooo

Okay so best way to compare the dark matter hive mind to is an ant colony.

Zero/zero 2 would be the queen

Specialized dark matter like dark nebula and miracle matter would be comparable to like uhh specialized workers? Queen attendants?

There’s also the drones which are regular dark matters, but also super drones like dark matter swordsman.

Dropping the ant comparison it’s more like a ranking

Zero is on top

Specialized dark matter below that

Below that are the generals (dark matter swordsman)

And bottom ring is the drones.

The dark matter are a hivemind, though the more specialized matters will have a bit more wiggle room when it comes to personality than a regular drone.

Which is why nebula developed such an ego when a standard drone really doesn’t.

Generals have a bit more leeway too but in more of a ‘they have a specialized skill’ so they’re allowed to develop a base personality that improves those skills.

Such as being a cold and cunning general of an army.

Drones tend to not have any personality To speak of, closest they get is a sort of ‘group thing’ sort of thing? They’re like a big echo chamber repeating one another.

Zero of course is their own thing entirely, they are the head of the hive mind so they influence it and aren’t controlled by it.

All dark matter spawns from zero (idk if there’s other instances of zero that currently/can exist but that’s getting into void stuff and I’m not touching that today)

Dark matter can be recycled back into zero if the drone spawns with some sort of defect that they don’t like.

Though some rare cases mutations can be so wild that zero just straight up cuts the drone off of the hive mind and abandons them.

Drones that are cut off from the hive mind tend to die out quickly, unless they find some sort of ‘identity’ to latch onto.

Using gooey as an example. He was quickly found by Rick, Kine, and Coo, so was able to latch onto a sort of ‘curious kid’ identity until the stabilized enough to start becoming his own little Gooey.

In a similar sense (going into more au stuff) dark matter swordsman when he was cut off was able to latch onto the ‘big brother’ roll until he started to settle into his own identity, thanks to gooey finding him.

Though swordsman already had more of a personality to jump from as he was a general and not just a drone, but it still wasn’t much.

Plus I’m pretty sure both he and gooey were ‘defects’ from the start, being a bit too in tune with emotions when compared to other dark matter.

I’ll also go into a dark matter adapting outside of the hive. Using gooey and swordsman as examples, those two had to adapt to all the positive energy coming from dreamland, since dark matter is generally a substance that is destroyed by that sort of thing.

Basically after spending enough time in dreamland they’d get sick as their body’s properly just adapted to the changes. Sort of like when you get a vaccine to prevent you from getting a more serious illness.

Though in this case if they were overwhelmed too quickly their body might just give up and die instead.

But the two were fine so it worked out.

It was also after that instance that the two really solidified their own identities, gooey taking on the blue form he has now and swordsman getting his design I drew up. And the two can now exist just fine in dreamland, like a concentrated love beam isn’t going to kill them anymore. (Might still hurt though)

Though going back to zero, when he died the dark matter hive pretty much imploded, because again, the drones typically can’t survive without their ‘queen’ though the specialized matter and a few generals and very few drones did survive.

I like to think they’re still out there, biding their time to try and take revenge on Kirby.

Good luck with that though have you seen how many friends this guy has now? Lmao

🏍️ Ayato’s Biker Shenanigans—

So, @liannelara-dracula and I came up with this idea when we saw a Rockstar Energy poster at the gas station.

It was an image of Jason Anderson on a dirt bike striking a cool pose in mid air and we instantly thought of what Ayato would do if he saw this poster.

We all know that asshole would do something crazy if he got inspired, which brings us to this scenario here.

🔥 So in the DL universe, this all began when Ayato saw this poster, and it really drew his attention.

🔥 In fact, it was so bad that he thought it would be cool if he could get some rad pics for his Vampgram (vampire instagram lmao).

🔥 So with this, he headed to Karl’s garage in hopes of finding a dirtbike.

🔥 Now bear in mind that Karl’s garage is a place that houses thousands of different gadgets, car parts, cars, motorcycles—you name it, he’s probably got it.

🔥 And let me tell you, this place is a mess. It’ll take days to get out if you get lost in there.

🔥 (In one of the CDs, Subaru spoke about a room Karl had filled with his junk and said it would be a nightmare for anyone who had to clean that room since there’s so much stuff; which in thus indicates that Karl’s an old collector, so you can imagine his garage consisting of old cars and shit that’s no longer in use. And the worst part is, he probably doesn’t auction/sell none of it no matter how much his sons beg him to.)

🔥 His sons dread it every time if they’re asked to go look for something in there—it’s honestly a punishment.

🔥 To Ayato’s luck, he found that Karl did in fact have an old dirt bike stashed in there.

🔥 “Hah, knew that old man had to have one.”

🔥 But to his surprise, the bike didn’t run, so he had to call in some back up.

🔥 And his back up happened to be Kino and Shin.

🔥 Plus, they wanted in on Ayato’s plans too once they heard about them.

🔥 So they snagged some tools and old oil out of Karl’s garage and began working on the old thing . . . And tbh, none of them knew what they were doing.

🔥 They worked for hours on it, trying everything in order to make it work, and even going to YouTube to try and fix it, but it was a total bust.

🔥 And when they thought they figured it out, they ended up ruining it even more instead.

🔥 Kino threw his hands up in the air at some point. “Give it up, dude. We’ve tried everything.”

🔥 “Yeah, I’m getting tired over here. Why don’t you just go buy a new one?” Shin would say, feeling mentally exhausted.

🔥 “Cuz that old man keeps me on a tight budget.” Ayato would complain.

🔥 “Fine. Let’s just call Yuma.” Kino would say, pulling out his phone being ready to call.

🔥 “No way, man!” Ayato would say, snatching the phone from his grasp. “No one from that house is allowed here . . . There’s still one more person we can ask.”

🔥 “Oh really? And who’s that?” Kino would ask.

🔥 “Don’t worry, I know just the guy.” Ayato would add. “There’s no one better for this job. He’ll have it fixed in no time.”

🔥 “Are you talking about Subaru? What good can he be with this?” Shin would say.

🔥 “Dude, he’s named after a car. There’s no way he doesn’t know how to work on something like this.” Ayato would say, walking off inside to fetch Subaru.

🔥 And after convincing him enough, he finally got him to come outside and have a look at it.

🔥 When Subaru begins analyzing and trying to scope out the problem, he begins to tell them what’s wrong with it thus far, such as the battery being old, the oil was bad, etc.

🔥 Overall, there were a lot of things wrong with it.

🔥 “You’re not going anywhere with a battery like that. It’s too old, the transmission’s off, and the radiator needs repair. A job like this is-,”

🔥 “Look, no one cares what’s wrong with it. Can you fix it or not?” Ayato would rudely inturrpt.

🔥 Subaru shot him a death glare. “Tch! Of course I can, dumbass. But it’s gonna take a while if you want it fixed.”

🔥 Ayato sighed. “Fine. Just make it work.”

🔥 Subaru began working, taking his time and making sure all the wires were connected and such, and just doing a bunch of mechanic things.

🔥 But let’s just say there were a few mishaps in between, mostly because Ayato, Kino, and Shin were trying to help him out to get the job done faster.

🔥 They were mostly just handing him the tools or whatever he requested because them touching the bike would potentially make it worse.

🔥 And a lot of the time, Ayato was mostly grabbing and handing him the wrong tools, leading them to waste even more time.

🔥 Being ready to conclude things, Subaru asked Ayato to grab some new motor oil and put it in it’s designated tank.

🔥 As soon as he did, Subaru asked Ayato to turn on the iginition to see if they could get it to start.

🔥 Luckily he got it to start, leaving Ayato to say, “Dude, you are brilliant- BRILLANT!”

🔥 But unfortunately, as soon as he started it, the bike squirted oil onto Subaru’s face, and this only happened because dumbass Ayato didn’t tighten down the oil cap’s lid.

🔥 It’s kinda like this clip from Full House haha xDD (@ 2:50 if it doesn’t work).

🔥 Once they got it to start (and tightened the oil lid), it sounded awful and loud.

🔥 It was so loud that Reiji stopped for a second in the middle of his experiment and looked out the window to understand where that sound was coming from.

🔥 “What’s making that horrible noise?” He questioned.

🔥 Ayato was thrilled knowing Subaru got it to start and got onto the seat, giving it a small rev.

🔥 “When I drive this thing around town, it’ll be pickin’ up chicks for sure.” He’d smirk.

🔥 “Ayato, what is this repulsive contraption?” Reiji would say, his hands on his hips as he questioned him.

🔥 “It’s one of the old man’s dirt bikes. I need it.”

🔥 “What for exactly?” Reiji would ask.

🔥 “Eh, for fun reasons you wouldn’t understand.” The red-haired vampire answered smugly.

🔥 Reiji pushed up his glasses to the bridge of his nose. “Very well. Just don’t cause any trouble.”

🔥 He soon left, leaving the group of them alone.

🔥 “Alright, now that that stick in the mud is gone, let’s get started.” Ayato would command, taking the dirt bike to an offset ground of the mansion’s perimeter where there was enough room to ride, Subaru, Kino and Shin following.

🔥 Ayato decided to bring Yui along when they were taking photos and riding the bike around.

🔥 Ayato alternated with Kino and Shin since they wanted cool pics for their Vampgrams too.

🔥 Ayato took his off his shirt for certain pics on the bike and tried to flex to Yui.

🔥 He wears sunglasses too. xDD

🔥 Laito came along as well and was the one taking pictures of Ayato.

🔥 While riding, Ayato would try to do some cool bike stunts like the stuntman in the poster.

🔥 And let’s just say, he failed miserably at doing them and fell off his bike doing certain ones.

🔥 Meanwhile, Kino and Shin are nailing them and getting good pics and vids of their stunts xDD.

🔥 And if that wasn’t bad enough, with Laito taking the photos for Ayato, they're honestly coming out horrible.

🔥 They're either too blurry, or he's just missing Ayato every time he's in mid-air—AND the worst part is, is that when Ayato’s gotten the move to look decent, Laito keeps missing it with the camera.

🔥 There’s competition among Ayato, Kino, and Shin—like, who looks cooler in their photos, who’s photos look the best, and they’re pressuring Yui to decide.

🔥 And after a while of riding, something was bound to go completely wrong.

🔥 Maybe a little too wrong.

🔥 Ayato took the bike for a final spin, but began to lose control of it and it wasn’t steering properly, which lead him to crash into things at an uncontrollable speed.

🔥 Due to Ayato not having much knowledge about engineering, it was unknown to him that Subaru had rigged the bike to lose control at a certain point.

🔥 And he did this all for payback—such as for making him fix the bike and interrupting him when he was explaining what was wrong with it.

🔥 Seriously, don’t fuck with our bby car.

🔥 Yui noticed that the bike started acting up and when all chaos was breaking loose, she saw Subaru laughing and asked what was funny and this is where he confessed that he rigged it.

🔥 “That fuckin’ moron’s not even gonna know what hit him.” Subaru would laugh.

🔥 With not having control of the dirt bike, he ended up crashing into Yuma’s garden and totally bulldozered the place.

🔥 Yuma was so pissed off, and with Kou finding it funny and laughing behind him, it didn’t make things any better.

🔥 In fact, it almost ended with Yuma throwing him through one of the mansion’s windows.

🔥 “Great, just great! Who the hell is gonna pay for this shit?! That Sakamaki-asshole ruined everything! . . . Once I get my hands on him, I’m gonna-,”

🔥 “Violence won’t solve anything, Yuma.” Ruki would interrupt attempting to calm him down. “We’ll go over to the Sakamaki Residence and speak to them promptly about this issue.”

🔥 “Tch! You’re gonna go talk to that uptight asshole?” Yuma would say, referring to Reiji. “Good luck striking a deal with him.”

🔥 Kino and Shin posted Ayato bulldozering Yuma's garden since they caught it all on film and it went viral as a result, leaving them to have the last laugh.

Thank you!! Dw I have it all planned and ready. Just need to draw the rest of the characters and then make some few comic strips (I ain’t gonna make it like a full series comic lol I don’t think my hands are ready for that yet) so it’ll be more familiar. Ngl I’ve been thinking about this au for weeks before I officially drew them. All I’m gonna say for my au is that it’s full of fluff at the beginning :]

Though if you want to know more about it. I’ll tell you some that I have in mind. Starting with the infos I said on my first Ngrave post.

1. Chara not being adopted by the Dreemurrs at a young age

1. I was honestly curious to see what would’ve been like if Chara hadn’t fallen down in the underground (so that means Asriel is still a 🐐 and not a 🌼) I’ve also gotten sick with them being villainized by the fandom since they’re not really one at all.

2. Since they’re both handling it all, they’ll have to cooperate with each other (which is not a problem) in order to fulfill it *coughs* Chara is probably gonna make it difficult since they’re more hardheaded and reckless lol

3. I made this into a one route (to make it more exciting) because if not, the duo are gonna look op and I wanted to balance things out. So if Chara or Frisk killed someone, whether it’d be accidentally or not, they won’t be able to save them by resetting because they can’t go back. If they die, they die. Same thing with the monsters. Lmao this is the real definition of “YOLO”.

Additional info:

4. Sans is pretty weak in this au (he’s often seen in the lab with Alphys)

5. Papyrus and Asriel will be the ones guarding outside of the Ruins rather than Sans because they’re ordered to as the top Royal Guards along with Undyne (Asriel will be the leader here instead of Undyne)

6. I named it “Ngrave” than “Engrave” because I like it like that lmao, but other than that, engrave involves when monsters engraves their magic on humans. Rather than killing humans to take their souls in order to break the barrier, they’re gonna engrave their magic onto any humans they’ll see like a mark as it will enlarge the space of the barrier they are in once the humans they had engraved with magic are at a far distance from Mt. Ebott (that’s where Chara and Frisk are gonna be victims of it…maybe not)

Hey, I just want to say I LOVE UR NETTLES ART. You’re so talented.

I can’t begin to describe the happiness I felt when I saw how beautiful and accurately you drew nettles. The HOTD fandom is so racist they’re always lightening her or drawing her to look grotesque.

Like I saw one tweet that stated I quote “Daemon would never cheat on Rhaenyra with a low born ugly black girl”. I was so pissed. They don’t even bother to hide her racism

Anyways, ignore what the haters say and keep doing what ur doin. Your one the only pro nettles accounts I’ve stumbled upon on the internet.

Aaaaah thanks <3333. I know the feeling well, spent years having zero Netty content until I learned how to do my own lol. I’m glad I can provide for others lmao.

You know, I love me some ugly girls who are allowed to be ugly and I straight up don’t mind at all if Nettles is indeed ugly, but I feel like in her case there’s more of misogyny/racism against her from the maester’s perspective than her being actually ugly in canon. Still, I think it’s important to keep her traits (scar; crooked teeth etc) cause none of those should be in any way demeaning of her worth.

But yeah, people saying Daemon wouldn’t go for her are simply just straight up racist. I did have a daemyra shipper actually saying that with all the words (“if he leaves R for her, it’s only for the sake of representation, because it’s not realistic to have him leaving R for a black woman”). When I say they aren’t even hiding anymore, I’m not joking. Twitter is a cesspool when it comes to Nettles, and I predict it will become worse, so I’m here in the trenches already.

I have no plans of stopping posting about her, I hope the show makes her as cool as she has the potential to be.

doodled this a while ago and decided i want it here. gta au ivan! mostly i wanted to draw some of his tattoos. i’ll probably never design his full arm sleeve but i like the mix of blue for his prison tattoos and the black for the new ones he got to fill out the sleeve.

on a design note, i very specifically don’t give gta au ivan the little white highlights i put in people’s eyes usually, at least when he’s not interacting with someone he loves and actually conceptualizes as a fully realized person. he’s smiling and cheerful when interacting with most people but his expression is flat and i think i’ve described him as having dead eyes before lol. losing the eye highlight is just an indicator of that! i think it’s fun. i also specify gta au ivan because, while in other AUs he’s always more open and expressive with people he’s comfortable around, his default expression otherwise is... not so dead, lol. you can tell the difference between a ‘this is just what my face does’ smile or an ‘i’m actively smiling at you to be polite/friendly’ and a real genuinely happy smile with all ivans, but gta au ivan doesn’t mask quite as hard because he barely recognizes other people as people. it’s a combination of not caring enough about other people to even consider that he should look less off-putting and of not wanting to show how he actually feels. gta au ivan is WAY more emotionally closed off and has chosen to switch off the part of his brain that feels compassion for most people. he still goes along with a lot of the social rules he’s learned and the part of him that cares about how people are treated/cares about being polite isn’t completely dead, but for the most part people are basically objects and tools and toys until he gets to know them well enough for something to click in his brain.

(gta au ivan fascinates me don’t mind my rambling)

WAIT i drew a comparison before! okay this is even older and it was done pretty quickly so don’t worry about it

in the second one he’s got the eye highlight, a wider smile, and the smile actually reaches his eyes. subtle differences because it IS a fairly subtle shift, a lot of people wouldn’t notice it, but it’s there. i just think these details are fun.

losing the eye highlight it something i use a lot actually to depict something being Wrong or to indicate that the facial expression isn’t genuine. not always, because sometimes the style just doesn’t require the highlight, but the more detailed the drawing is the more likely i’m gonna use that indicator. now that i’m talking about it i’m putting some examples under the cut because it’s my blog and i can go off topic if i want

hunger games AU charlie! the one where they’re crying gets the highlight because they’re not masking. in the other two they’re acting cheery for the camera after an extraordinarily traumatizing experience so the highlight’s gone to indicate those smiles are absolutely not genuine lol

another hunger games au charlie. genuine emotion but that emotion is ‘doing just really bad right now’

dnd au charlie in their sunny mask! this one is just a style choice partly because this was a quick sketch and i left their sclera as pure white instead of off-white, which would make the pure white highlight not stand out as much. how can you tell when it’s a style choice and when it’s symbolic? well. uh. uhhh. anyway more examples

another hunger games au charlie, i’m in that folder rn lol. eye shine in the first one because they’re acting but doing alright, no eye shine in the second one because. y’know. trauma.

just posted this one lol but another example! genuinely happy vs boiling over with rage and grief

symbolic vs style example. highlight stands out more on the left drawing than it would on the right drawing. it’d get lost on the little one, and it’s not as detailed to boot.

symbolic choice here. angery and trying to hide it even if he’s failing lmao

making vs genuine expression, but both get the highlight because asya’s still trying in the first one and she’s not completely closed off emotionally.

also masking but she was caught off-guard and isn’t trying as hard

first two lacking the highlights are style choices, bottom two with the highlights are symbolic. EXTRA highlight in the bottom left because extra happy, bottom right she’s just real emotional. it feels obvious to ME that the top ones are style choices but i don’t. know how to articulate the reasoning.

Reading Secrets Can Kill but I Share My Every Thought Chapter 14-18

- nancy is at the dance w daryl and i am DYING to know what she told Ned ab this - it's v funny looking up outfits nancy describes. like /this/ is what the v neck dress that ~put a sparkle in daryls eyes~ was prob like - carla bumps into nancy while she's putting lipstick on and messes her up so bess trips her on purpose and her peach colored dress has a big soapy water stain on it now 😱 drama - nancy doesn't see Connie at the dance and thinks to herself "maybe once this case is over Connie will straighten her life out and stop trying so desperately to be someone she's not" and that hurt even MY feelings on her behalf - daryl hints at leaving early and nancy is like "let's stick around a little while longer, if we leave now, everyone will know why" and implied sex?? in my nancy drew book??? i haven't read one in a long time but these seem a tad spicier than i remember? or maybe it's a ND files thing - daryl says this is the best night of his life, oh just u wait buddy 😭 - nancy acts like she's seducing daryl like "ohhh but it could be a whole lot better if we spent some time alone together, couldn't it?" he's gonna be soooo disappointed when she tells him why she rlly got him out there

- nancy has the worst plan for how to confront him ever, she decides oh let's go be alone, in an enclosed car where he could easily lock her in, def in arms reach and she's thinking he might be a killer. she was in a very public place and decided to leave that and go somewhere secluded and hard to escape from. just want to know the thought process here like, you couldn't pull him aside somewhere in the school with your friends waiting nearby? - she kisses him in his car and whispers in his ear "just thought you'd like to know,, i found out why Jake Webb was killed" and he's gotta be thinking this is the worst pillow talk ever - daryl is trying to play it cool and is like "this isn't rlly what i had in mind when i came out here, but if you really want to talk instead of...doing other things 😏" this is so much to deal with - when nancy tells him ab the tape she's like "i call it.....the daryl gray show" she's so dramatic - when she's finished he drags her out of the car and pushes her against it like "if you think I'm a killer, what makes you think I'd stop with Jake Webb?" - nancy DID at least think through to plan for this and the besties turned on their headlights but i still think he could've done some real damage before they realized if he didn't drag her out of the car - Ned is there and came as George's "date" so nancy def explained things but i wonder if she told him it's just for the case 😬 either way her long time bf watched her dance with and kiss this guy and i know it had to be soooo awkward even if they do drift and date other people sometimes - Ned quite literally lept onto daryl and is being quite rough w him - nancy apparently told Ned everything ab the case EXCEPT for nancy and daryls feelings for each other which she was saving for later and she "hoped he hadn't suspect anything" as if he hadn't been watching them canoodle and kiss all night - daryl reacts more to ned referring to nancy as his girlfriend than being called a murderer lmao - mitch dillon is defense plant guy who killed jake and told daryl so that was true to the book - daryl was threatened by mitch to find the tape and it was him in the video lab that day - nancy is all "how can you celebrate when daryls life is probably ruined" as if this mfer didn't commit treason - they're making daryl help catch mitch which like can't u just tell the cops atp. like honestly - the cops will be there but like why are they letting a bunch of teenagers be the ones to catch the killer then. - ofc mitch says he can't do the set meeting time and is gonna be there in 10 mins so no cops after all - bess's new bf is there and im trying to process the conversations that took place to rope him into this - the murderer stops to feed the ducks before meeting and maybe trying to murder daryl which is so funny to me - something went wrong like a flash from the bushes or smth and mitch is on the move and nancy is going after him 😱 - it was BRENDA!!! she took a flash photo of mitch and daryl and mitch grabbed her, nancy trips over a root and mitch sees her, and he has a gun to Brenda's head - it's prob still being taped by ned or george and nancy thinks one of the others has snuck away from the park and called the cops - nancy got him to admit to killing Jake too - this place is WAY too public for mitch to be holding a gun to someone in broad daylight - daryl hits mitch w Brenda's camera, the gun went off, nancy tackled him, he punched her in the jaw, mitch goes running, then ned and bess's bf tackle his ass - daryl was SHOT in the shoulder but hooray cops come and nancy saved the day - the Russian diplomat left in a hurry once mitch had been captured - nancy feels strongly that "daryl deserves a break" mind you he was committing espionage and treason - hal is retaking the SATS, seemingly no other punishment, walt is benching himself for a while, and connie is getting help for her shoplifting problem (no mention of returning the bracelet) and the cops aren't doing anything ab them - daryl is gonna recover ok - nancy is finally, finally telling ned ab her and daryl - ned kinda suspected but was very chill about it and nancy is all "i love you" - ned asks if it's over. he's about to be in prison and threatened nancy for a min, i doubt nancy is gonna want a prison penpal romance, dude - the end - the game is much better solely because daryl and nancy have little to no actual romance or at least nothing she reciprocates - never recovering from nancy calling daryl sexy or the engine revving
