he's pretty indifferent to your style at first, i don't see him as the type to judge much based on appearances. its your personality that really throws him for a loop, and a part of him admires your dedication to making yourself look how you want to look and truly living to be your best self, regardless of what others think

if you think miles knows nothing about being goth then be prepared for miguel bc he knows NOTHINGGGG- no music, no history, no political views, zero, zilch, nada, goose egg

if he cares about you i do see him being intrigued about your style, and once you two are officially dating is when he'll show more interest in your personal fashion sense

he strikes me as the type to like, NEVER listen to music, so he literally only listens to the music you like!!! he does find himself occasionally humming the tune of some strawberry switchblade song or casually listening to a siouxsie and the banshees song while he works, and over time you influence him a LOT with your music taste. he definitely associates any and all goth music with YOU, and that's probably why he starts enjoying it.

he's a "hand on you at all times" type of guy, and while he is rarely touchy with others, miguel is definitely keeping you close. your fashion makes that convenient for him, and he loves pulling you into a kiss by grabbing onto your belt loop or something of the sort

i personally hc that spot HATES seeing himself in mirrors/pictures, it reminds him sm of what he used to look like, but he LOVES taking photos of you and your style!! whenever you are wearing a cute outfit or have funky makeup on, spot adores just taking photos of you

i drew Diana. not quite sure how i feel about it but oh well.

goth girls, y'know.

since I've made aaron's fur pattern white, i thought his goth girlfriend deserved the red and black fur pattern he had.

some other Diana hcs:

she can sing really well, but avoids it unless its for a gig. She doesn't want to wreck her voice. She has a very soft singing voice too, so thankfully it's not too much on her vocal cords 80% of the time. But you can never be too safe. She will hum along to music occasionally.

I have lore about a dog-goth style in my rewrite which Diana slowly starts getting more interested in towards the end of college, though he's more vamp-goth before that. I could get into the Dog-Goth of my rewrite but oh you don't want me to. Because then I'd have to get into the werewolf punk scene i made up in my head.

She's always been very slight, but she's trying to bulk up some muscle mass. She's also quite tall ( about 6'3) but is the smallest in her band. Since they're all werewolves. And werewolves can casually be like 6'5 and no one bats an eye at that.

He grew up with punk parents, and therefore punk ideology. They were very supportive of him, and so he had a pretty nice upbringing.

She speaks quite monotone in her day-to-day life (though her singing is quite expressive). and so her and Aaron are matchy matchy with that. Autism-bonding and all.

He does not dress up every day. He usually slaps on some eyeliner, maybe some light makeup, and leaves it at that. and just throws on a nice shirt and skirt. He's got no time to make himself look fancy if he's tryna get through college with any shred of sanity left.

She shaved the tails of her eyebrows off. which are why her eyebrow piercings are BELOW her eyebrow (which she draws on). She carries around tweezers to pluck the hair that grows back in when she's bored in her lectures. Or in a dull conversation.

He's transfem, and uses he/her pronouns. People tend to over-correct and only use she/her pronouns for him but nah. BOTH. Obviously only using one or another in a conversation is fine. But only one for like ever? Nah. Nah.

I'm dianron dirt till i die. She occasionally goes through his spotify to judge the music he has on there, or 'make it good'. She put one of her band's songs on his longest playlist and he didn't realise until a few months after they broke up. He still listens to it after because like... Di can sing, y'know.

He self-labels as Queer, sexuality-wise.

She wears platform boots to feel taller. Especially when with Aaron, since it's embarrassing to be rocking around with a human that's taller than her. (She knows he's a werewolf, she just isn't a total dickhead and lets everyone else continue thinking he's a werewolf). He's still taller.

He met Ken when he caught Ken smoking weed in their highschool bathroom. They ended up sharing and talking about cryptids for the whole next period.

Ken is also on the band. He plays drums. Diana once broke his drumsticks because he wouldn't stop hitting everyone like they were drums. She bought him new ones for his birthday because she felt bad.

Him and Blaze are cousins. Their mothers are sisters.

I feel like he would love heavy metal,goth metal, death metal and nu metal. I already made playlist for heavy metal and nu metal since these two are my fav type of metal and I can see it as his playlist too. You can check it out if you want

When he would be in mood for pop music he would listen too: Lady Gaga (who doesn't like her🔥🔥), Britney Spears, Lana Del Rey and Rihanna.

He'd like punk/rock and rock music too.

For punk/rock bands he would listen too: Ramones, Misfits, The damned, Green day, The clash.

And for rock: Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Ramones, The clash, The doors, Rush, Green day etc, London after midnight (Ik I put some same bands for rock and punk but it's punk/rock music so yk what I mean 😭😭😭)

Hi! Could I get a creepypasta match up please!

I am 5 foot...not very blessed in the height department unfortunately, I'm slim but well endowed in both upper and lower departments. I'm fairly light for being Hispanic (i don't go outside in the sun often) I have shoulder length hair, its currently red and has been red for a hot minute, but in the past it used to be shorter and a different color every other week. Like for two weeks I could have purple hair then BOOM it's yellow now. I have 21 piercings. I have two in the center of my eyebrows, two nostril piercings. One on each side, a septum. And snake bites. I used to have My bridge pierced but I took it out bc it was in the process of migrating:/m I have 26 tattoos. IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT. But it's not..THAT many when you actually get a good look at my full body. Most of them are on my thighs, I have some on my back, I have chest tattoos and a wrist tattoo. All my tattoos are either witchy, satanic, or of pretty pin up women and fruit.

Personality wise. I'm not sure, I have adhd, autism and bpd. I can be loud and excitable but also REALLY quite, aloof and awkward. I am a very passionate person and I'm always doing something (or at least trying to) I love to learn new things, I love to talk, I love to listen but I also love to just sit in absolute silence sometimes. I hate the sound of people sneezing, idk why it just REALLY upsets me. I can be really nice and helpful but I don't like being taken advantage of. I don't like confrontation but I will stand up for myself and or my friends if it's truly necessary. I am very giving, if someone I care about was in need I wouldn't mind giving them the shirt off my back or the shoes I'm wearing...it's happened before too. I also love shopping. I may have a slight....shopping addiction. I also have a very strong sense of justice and respect, so you won't catch me doing anyone dirty, but I won't let anyone do me dirty and ill cut them off if they keep crossing the line. I'm very good at sniffing out snakes. And I try to warn people around me about fake people and they never believe me until shit hits the fan, and then they sit there like ":0 I didn't know" TF YOU MEAN YOU DIDNT KNOW I TOLD YOU!?

I have daddy issues and don't have a stable father figure in my life 🧍🏻‍♂️ I love my mom though, shes cool

Style wise. I'm a bit all over the place, I've been in the alternate community since I was born. My dad was a metal head soo it kind of passed. But not really. Mental only stuck for so long. I tried scene, not my personal style but I loved the music. I was in the emo scene for a good couple of years until i started to hang out with the punk kids in my highscool, they were a little to much for me, activity wise though so it didn't last to long. But I found my home in the goth subculture and then from that point on, I explored the subcultures within that subculture. I tried nu goth, pastel goth, gothic lolita, trad goth. And none of them felt right, until I found gothabilly. And I find myself most comfortable in thag vintage style and the pin up style. My favorite brand (just so you can get an idea) is vixen by micheline pitt. My closet is just PURE black. With hints of black and white stripes and red.

I have many hobbies. I used to do tattoos on myself and my friends. I tried to get into piercing....it was a little too scary for me. I know how to make jewelry, I know how to paint, and draw. I know how to write, I love reading. I get too far down weird and obscure rabbit holes. I'm learning how to sew and I love it. I have a huge passion for fashion. And I want to start My brand one day. Even if it's small and for a niche group. I love to game, I love horror games especially, Outast is one of my favorite game series. I love horror period. Horror stories, movies, books. I love collecting specimens, like pinned bugs or mice in Jars. I have a small jar of bones. I love the dead. My favorite horror movie is either Saw or Scream. I also love watching indie disturbing horror movies as well. I'm a practicing witch, and I often use pendulums to communicate with. There was an old ghost of a woman who used to live in my apartment. She was cool sometimes but she messed with the doors and lights to much. I also used to collect dolls, specifically monster high dolls, but I wanted to branch out to haunted dolls...but then I thought mayybe that wouldn't be a good idea. I also love to cook and bake, and i love trying new food. I am also learning how to roller skate.

I don't like spiders though, which is ironic because I love spider web design and embroidery on my clothing. They just...look...ugly in. And their faces freak me out. I can't stand bad smells. I have a very very strong sense of taste and smell so I can be pretty sensitive around food and with bad odors. I don't like being woken up when I'm sleeping and I don't like being around loud obnoxious people.

Just for reference, I am afab nonbinary but present feminine to androgynous. I like both dudes and women and other NB people. My favorite creepypastas used to be Eyeless Jack, Bloody Painter, Jason the Toy Maker, the doll maker and the Puppeteer. I mean I liked ALL the pastas but they were my particular favorites

this feels so short in comparison to all that you sent me and i'm deeply sorry for that.

natalie is a very simple person, believe it or not. she's fairly blunt and isn't the type to bullshit a person so you don't have to worry about her taking advantage of you and your kindness. she's also really good at spotting snakes, so honestly you two could be a snake-sniffing duo and point out all the people you should avoid and whatnot.

she's an incredibly honest person as well and the type to never beat around the bush so if she wants to say something, she will say it.

she's a fairly emotionally reserved person so she doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve but when it's just the two of you, she lets her walls down a bit and she allows herself to relax a little.

she's more of a listener than a talker so she'll sit there and listen to you talk for hours. she doesn't mind sitting in silence either, because with you it's rather comfortable. but on the very rare occasion that she's the one doing all the talking, she'll definitely appreciate the fact that you're listening. it makes her feel seen in ways she could never describe.

natalie thinks you look good with any hair color, to be honest. i think in the beginning she was definitely a bit caught off guard by your spontaneous hair color changes but she gets used to it rather easily because it's just another part of you that she's fond of. she is just a bit concerned about your hair potentially getting damaged if you dye it too often but... she's not a hair expert, so. and honestly, she's thought about dying her hair as well, so. maybe you can recommend a color for her!

she also thinks you look wicked cool with your piercings and tattoos by the way. and she would absolutely love to hear about the meanings of your tattoos if any of them have one that you're willing to share with her.

she may not look like it, but natalie is pretty interested in fashion! she doesn't dabble in many styles herself because of various reasons but she is very interested in all of your own styles ranging from any goth and punk clothing you may own to the vintage and pin-up style you currently have going on.

if you asked natalie what her hobbies were she would probably just shrug and say, 'don't have any.' but trust me when i tell you that she does. she is so very much interested in deep diving into obscure topics and going down rabbit holes that she probably shouldn't go down because she loves learning about all the weird things buried underneath, hidden away from the average person.

honestly, you guys could probably make a date night out of deep diving into two separate topics and telling each other about it as you go. seems like it would be a pretty fun thing to do.

natalie doesn't particularly pay much attention to video games but she isn't against playing one or two if you recommend it to her! she's pretty invested in the things that you like, so she'll definitely play anything you recommend.

as for horror movies, natalie also probably doesn't give them much thought but trust me when i say she is a big fan of the saw franchise. i can see it now, you sitting her down to watch the saw movies and her just getting absolutely hooked and totally developing a crush on amanda young because honestly who doesn't. after the saw franchise, she's definitely more interested in horror than she was before and she'll probably sit down in her own time to watch some other movies just to talk about them to you.

always down to have her hair and nails done by you if you want to do them. she'll pay you as well, don't worry, just like... don't ask where she got the money because that would lead to a really awkward conversation probably. and she's also rooting for you to get into college to study fashion design!

so yeah anyways you guys would be a cute couple together and you'd have two cats and a rabbit named pumpkin or something and yeah.

Hiiii! Hope yer well! Heard you were doing Wednesday Matchups? It's grand if you aren't ^-^ A lot of my body and clothes that are avaliable right now aren't accurate to how I am, so I hope it's okay that I'm describing my appearance how it's going to be, rather than how it is currently!

My name is Willow from Ireland, They/She and Genderfluid. Demipanromantic Bisexual, I'm 17 (today 🎉). I'm 4'0" (disability), long floofy and messy black hair, dyed partially red that kinda just curls and waves all over the place, like a wee wolf's mane :P

I like drawing and do it regularly, singing, and (when I have the energy) dancing. When I'm hyper and not feeling too many chronic pains, I'm practically bouncing off walls and climbing across sofas, tables n stuff just for fun XD

My clothing style is a bit all over the place, but I typically wear goth/grunge style clothing, but occasionally I like becoming a ball of rainbows and just go for bright, rainbow colours too, with jumpers n stuff :3

My personality is reflected this way aswell, I switch between being bouncy and optimistic, to cold and blank somewhat regularly, depending on how I feel, or who I'm around. I'm INFP-T and usually quite a bit sluggish because of a lack of mental and physical energy. I'm very distrusting of people at first, but if my instincts allow me some time to get past that, I am ALL OVER YOU! Very touchy and cuddly, but if someone isn't comfortable I'll respect it, and do whatever alternative they prefer, or if they just need to take it slow. I deal with a lot of anger control issues, which can be bad but it comes in handy when protecting the people I care about, which I'll gladly do with vigour and without hesitation. I have either Autism/ADHD, or both, still not sure.

I hate; people who refuse to communicate, judgemental people (Bigots, Homophobes, Sexists, etc), disingenuous people, lack of respect for those who need help or have special needs.

I’m very independent, boisterous, and headstrong. I’m also very stubborn and sensitive which leads to me being moody and isolating myself. I can be really lazy at times and honestly, I’m very ditzy. • He loves you for your personality. He respects nice people and wants to be as close to them as possible. Especially when someone accepts every defect they have.

He is often lazier than you might think. Ideally, he would be sleeping or lying down reading the manga. And that is his biggest drawback (he may think so). He would also like to be stronger to better protect others. He still thinks he's too weak.

So when he hears you say to him that he is strong, he may say thank you with a smile, but he will say that he wants to be even stronger.

• He is sad when you don't want to talk to him. He knows that everyone has their whims and aversion to some things sometimes, but when you do, they always feel guilty about it. He would like you to keep smiling at him. And also so that you do not want to be alone. That you would let him in so that he could console you.

• One of the problems with him is that he goes berserk when he sees someone getting hurt. Especially if the person who has done nothing wrong is suffering.

Then you have to calm him down as soon as possible before he defeats the mean person.

• He likes mutual help. When he helps you, you will help him too. Of course he would like to do everything himself, but he knows you can not let him do it.

• During his break, he is able to drag you along to laze together or do something together. He doesn't care what you do. It is important that it is safe and it will be nice. And also that you will do it together.

• He will always try to support you. At any moment, he can say nice words to you and lift your spirits. He will always be there to tell you something nice.

Same with bringing you something. You may not expect it, but it will bring you something anyway. Whether it's a gift or something else. He is able to bring you breakfast in bed without the occasional use, cook dinner for you and even prepare a bath for you.

🖤 Non-obvious tips for babybats / new goths 🖤

Hello! My blog is a small one, but I still hope someone will find this helpful. So. There are plenty of “tips for babybats” videos on youtube and now probably tiktok, but they’re always basically the same things: research music, thrift, don’t be obnoxious, find a local scene. Easy. I’ve been a part of this goth thing since 2012 and observed some stuff. So here’s my little post about do-s and don’t-s. If you’re a new goth and don’t agree with me, that’s fine too.

Firstly, I don’t think babybats are really defined by “listening to Evanescence or Manson, shopping at Hot Topic and writing questionable poetry”; well, this is just one half of this group in my opinion. The second one is new goths who just learned what goth actually is and make it their entire personality, look, lifestyle, everything. I don’t think it’s good to just throw your non-goth hobbies and interests away for the sake of being ubergoth. In fact, most goths who have been in the community for a while will probably find it laughable, and nobody wants to be laughed at. I installed tiktok recently and EVERY goth video I’ve seen was either “hehe I’m so goth my fav band is mgła” or “Hey call me Siouxsie!!!”. Althrough I must admit I don’t spend a lot of time on tiktok. Anyways, if you like rap, don’t stop listening to rap; if your favorite color is lime green, add it to your outfits. It’s fine. Only people with no working braincells will have problems with that. And! Don’t shriek at e-girls, it’s so stupid and peak babybat.

Secondly, I often hear that babybats should “get familiar with goth subtypes, like victorian, perky or trad and pick one that suits them most”. Well, you can do that, if you want to be a super mainstream goth who defines their style by one thing only. (Goth has it’s own mainstream, yes. When I started it was focused on romantic and nu goth, now I feel like it’s trad and hippie goth.) Obviously you can take inspirations from major goth icons like Robert Smith, Rozz Williams, Siouxsie and Dave Vanian - they all have or had great styles - but don’t become an impersonator. I personally have been a fan of visual kei since forever and many of my style icons come from this scene, and also Japanese goth / post punk. If you’re dead set on trad goth, google pictures of batcave kids, they were really creative, and maybe pictures from the 80s scenes from around the globe, countries like Russia, Turkey and Japan had really big goth communities.

The third thing - goth is a communtiy of people, and it has seen better times. The scene has a little crisis and many clubs are closing (it was happening before covid too), so don’t gatekeep. Just don’t. It’s killing the scene. I’ve seen a drawing made by a teenage goth here on tumblr, depicting a trad “““grufti”“““ stabbing an e-girl with a knife. This is so embarassing, oh my god. I left a very very critical comment under that post. If you’re a new goth, don’t even try to “educate” e-girls, emos, whatever, because these people are not trying to “steal” goth or be a part of our community - they’re doing their own thing. If one of them actually wants to be a goth, they will get there by themselves, it’s one google search away from them, and after all, gatekeeping will stop newcomers from actively keeping the scene alive.

The fourth one - goth trends. They’re quite dumb. Don’t follow them, I would say. Goth influencers often participate in them, as they recieve PR from goth clothing companies, thus, they’re promoting them to their viewiers. Goth trends are based on mainstream trends - in 2015 there were cringey “witchy n bitchy” slogan tees and skinny jeans with studs, now we’re seeing a lot of layering, strega inspirations, techwear-ish items and Y2K influences. And it’s just not worth it. It’s so overpriced and after all, fast fashion, so it will be considered tacky (or fall apart) soon. (I owned a Punk Rave coat once, it was tragic.) It’s a different story if you really like a trend and maybe see yourself keeping the item regardless of what’s “in” - for me it’s wide leg pants and layered strega skirts. The swooshier, the better. From the 2010s, I still own a felt wide brim hat and a lot of maroon things. I love maroon and no one will disrespect my vampire red color in my house. (It’s so dumb, why is an entire color considered cheugy? Mainstream, you ok?) Also don’t buy polyester, it just looks sad. The wrong type of sad.

The final thing. Very, very important. Goth has a big crossover with the fetish and BDSM community, thus we see a lot of harnesses, latex clothing, ridiculous heels and also nudity. If you’re a babybat, you’re probably a minor, so please protect yourself, because this scene is sadly full of weird creeps. I’m not saying you should wear a black potato sack, but maybe don’t wear a latex lingerie set, fishnets and stripper heels to any events and don’t post riskey pictures of yourself. It’s not “empowerment”, it’s dangerous. If you want to be a sex worker, wait until your an adult and REALLY think about it before starting.

AND WEAR YOUR MASK.

Have fun and remember, babybat isn’t a bad word for more experienced goths. Just a part of the community, an incredibly important one. Don’t be offended if someone calls you a babybat or a newbie, it’s most likely not with bad intent.

hi!! could I have a matchup? tysm!! I’m not sure if they are all slasher mashups but I would like one of those.

My pronouns are they/them and I like women (anyone that’s not a man really but I don’t know how many nonbinary slashers there are)

Personality wise I’m very confident appearance wise, and I’m kind of… snarky I guess? A little rude at times, but I think that I’m fun to be around and like a kind person hopefully? the things I deem most important about myself… I’m not sure. I don’t actually deem my looks as an important part of myself really, I think everything else is more important. I guess I don’t have something most important but I’m quite creative so I’ll say that. I feel like other people probably perceive me as quiet and anxious or maybe mean looking as I have a bit of an RBF. I think of myself as really confident but I don’t think that’s how I actually come off.

My appearance is that I am white, I have short layered brown hair (I cut it myself recently! it was based off of Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim, I didn’t really like the movie but I liked her.), and I’m average height. I’m inspired by trad goth fashion/makeup but I only listen to a bit of actual goth music, although I’ve been getting into it a little more recently. I shaved off my eyebrows to draw them back on with eyeliner recently.

My hobbies/interests are visual art (drawing, painting, ETC), customizing clothes to fit my style, horror (I like horror comedies the most I think), I really like all kinds of music but I think I probably listen to punk/alt rock the most? Although my top artist this year is mitski but the rest of them fit into that genre lol. Most of my time is spent doing something that has to do with one of those things.

My top love language is DEFINITELY touch, although there has been debate over whether that counts as a love language or whatever but I am just. very touch starved. I also really love when I have shared interests with someone and we can talk about it together. An ideal date would maybe be staying in and watching movies together OR having a picnic in a cemetery. Cemetery picnics are veryyyy calm? I don’t know how to describe it it’s just a nice feeling.

I would like for my partner to be funny and I guess I would just like for them to genuinely like me and enjoy spending time with me. Optional things that I would enjoy would be them having a similar fashion sense to mine and being interested in the same things as me like I said before.

Cons about myself are that I tend to prioritize my own wants without thinking about how it will affect other people, or I do think about it but I do the thing anyway.

OKAY OKAY. Carrie adores you. She found herself fiddling and stumbling over her words around you, but she's always been a shy kind of girl... can you blame her? she's been bullied and harassed for so long that it's gave her perma social anxiety :// but she does manage to awkwardly compliment your eyeliner and mention your eyebrows, or lack thereof.

Looks into goth culture and it's many subcultures just to be educated. She hides it all from her mom, being that she's overly religious and probably would see you as a devil... poor Carrie has probably already struggled with the concept of her being attracted to women because of her. Now she's proud of her wlw self, and kinda finds an escape from her shitty home and school life in you.

I have so say she probably was intimidated at first. I mean, who knows what other people said about you! and how you looked was certainly different, but she starts to LOVE it. and you, ofc!

loves little picnics with you, even in as such a dreary and depressing setting as a cemetery. she packed all the food herself and smiles so big when you take a bite and seem to enjoy whatever sandwich she tossed together for you. Her love language is definitely acts of service, but she isn't exactly opposed to physical touch! in fact I think she enjoys it. She just has to start out small like with hand holding and cheek kisses before full on cuddling and pecking a kiss to your lips

PLEASE do her eyeliner- or her makeup in general- don't touch her eyebrows tho, she thinks a bare forehead wouldn't suit her face like it does yours.

If you do end up doing her eyeliner, I think her poor little heart would stop for a full second as you leaned close and started to carefully apply it

she doesn't think you're selfish when you think about yourself. she envies that you don't worry about other people first, since that often plagues her mind when she's making decisions. Carrie finds herself worrying what other people would think if the breakfast she eats, sometimes. While that might be a con and get in the way of some relationships for you, she admires the ability to care for yourself first.

while her style isn't like yours, she does adopt something's and incorporate it and makes it her own. It's cute! especially cus she steals thinks like bracelets, earrings, necklaces, or maybe even a leather jacket. It's a little big on her but she LOVES that.

I used to do avatar pictures for IMVU every once in awhile back in the day. Given, they were shit, but I still enjoyed doing so. Luckily, some of my techniques have stuck. Other than that, idk. I just do what I like.

I mainly listen to music. The music depends on what type of piece I'm doing. Example, if I'm doing some editing on a sim, I listen to music that I think that sim would listen to. It helps me put together the overall aesthetic of the piece.

Well I've only uploaded 1 thing so far, so I guess this.

Perfect way to start off the new blog !! Thank you for requesting, hope this is what you had in mind <3 (and that it’s not too apparent that i’m not super well versed in punk or goth culture ACK)

I hope that you guys don’t mind some being shorter than others, I’m still getting a hang of personalities!

Lucifer is probably one of the ones that’s into the style from the very beginning.

As soon as he sees MC, his interest is clearly shown on his face.

Sometimes, he’ll drop compliments on his fashion. Depending on his reponses, he’ll start getting more apparent with just how much he enjoys seeing his outfit everyday.

GIFTS!! He’s not mammon level of stacks upon stacks of gift wrapped boxes, but he’ll certainly stop by your room every once in a while with a new accessory he saw while shopping.

MC will probably notice that he is especially keen on chokers :).

Stares discreetly, but consistently. When Lucifer invites him to listen to music in his room, he waits until MC is occupied with something like a book or the music. Then sneaks glances at him to see how his clothing moves every time he reaches over for something, or how the necklace he bought the other day glints in the light radiating off of the fireplace.

He knows that MC is nice, and grows increasingly more and more worried for his sake because of that. The exchange program is important, but his treasure perpetually adorned in black garbs is significantly more prominent in his concerns.

So when he sees MC readily defending himself against some low level demon with no hesitation? Holy fuck. He starts to panic, but there’s nothing surpressing his respect for him, as it only grows stronger.

Although, it becomes very apparent that he’d have to do something about all of his brothers’ staring at MC.

Mammon is so into it. Like... So into it.

We all know and love that our tsundere boy has a problem with getting embarrassed, but how could he NOT get flustered everytime he’s face to face with an alternative KING

At first, he actually tries to tell MC how much he appreciates his aesthetic, but fails every time. Stuttering is a difficult thing to overcome when you can barely breathe out of embarrassment.

When he finally brings himself to actually get a compliment out, it’s accompanied with his signature bashful look. Downcast gaze and shifting posture and everything.

Upon recieving a positive response to his words, he takes it as a sign that he should start doing it more often. And so... That’s exactly what he does!

Compliments upon compliments, expensive outfits and accessories finding their way into his room, MC gets it all.

He ADORES the nice personality. So really. This MC is one of the people that Mammon can’t help but get along with. Nice, can throw hands, AND IS FASHIONABLE? Now you’re speaking his language.

They definitely get called a model power couple, even if MC isn’t a model.

Will definitely mention the idea of MC doing a photoshoot with him for work, but won’t press further if he says he’s not comfortable with it.

So yeah, his initial interest in MC is kickstarted by his fashion reminding him of a badass video game character, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate him for who he is!!

He actually doesn’t know whether to be sad that he doesn’t have the same amount of fashion sense or to be happy that he has MC as his best friend that does.

But after a bit of positive affirmation from MC, he’ll surely settle with the latter. (and also hope for them to become more than best friends :). )

He finds himself subconsciously posting about MC in his socials. Normally it’s filled with “Lucifer just did (blank)” but now, it’s ALL about MC. Nothing else. MC fan account.

We know that Levi draws, and so I have no doubts that he would be drawing every outfit he sees MC in.

At first, he’s only drawing faceless figures in the clothes, probably adding his own personal flair. But as time progresses and Levi gets closer to him, he starts subconsciously conpleting the figure’s appearance (hair, face, stature, etc). And before he knows it, half of his pages are filled with doodles of MC.

But if he were to ever find out that MC saw his art, RIP Leviathan 2020

And who’s to say he’s not drawing him in... Risqué outfits.

But if MC says that he doesn’t mind getting drawn, then Levi will activate cute fanboy mode again.

He’ll ask him to model outfits for him as he draws, sometimes in cosplay.

MC would just be chillin’ with him in his room, and when Levi finally looks up from his tv after finishing an anime, he’ll sometimes gasp and immediately say, “Stay right there, I HAVE to draw this!”

Although drawing wasn’t and will likely never be his favorite thing to do in comparison to video games/anime, it gives him an excuse to stare at his best friend with minimal blushing.

Satan is good at hiding his appreciation for MC’s outfits. At least, he’s good at it to everyone BUT MC.

If anyone asks, he’s indifferent about MC and his dashing looks and fashion.

But as soon as MC confronts him... Oh boy.

Red-faced, he’ll compliment his clothing on occasion, then wave it off as “something everyone does”. Which is true, but we know that it’s more than just that.

Similarly to Lucifer, he finds himself staring at him secretly. Except, I like to think that he’s less careful about it. Often MC will look up to meet his eyes, before he ducks his head back into his book, acting nonchalant.

Not a single person can convince me that he hasn’t found a stray black cat and discreetly named it after MC.

He wouldn’t hide the fact, but instead would actually bring it up at the right time. Ex: Right before some dramantic moment like before proclaiming how much MC means to him. Both as the cat and human.

The cat’s collars are decorated similarly to the clothing that MC wears! Satan is a diligent worker (especially when putting lucifer through immense stress) and a lover of arts, so he’s pays attention to little details like that.

This is Asmo we’re talking about.

He ADORES the aesthetic.

It’s not something that he himself would wear, but damn is it appealing to the eye.

Once you get him started on all the things he’d do if given the chance to dress MC up in whatever he wanted, you’ll never hear the end of it.

(^ especially when he starts talking about the undressing)

He loves a monochromatic color pallet, but every once in a while he’ll push for a pop of color in MC’s outfit for the day.

If MC wears minimal/no makeup, Asmo will constantly ask if he can use his face as a canvas for makeup experimentation while he rants about his nail tech.

Asmo’s favorite activity is going through MC’s closet. He gets to not only try things on, but he also gets to know what he has to work with when choosing MC’s outfits for their days out together.

Knows the perfect boutiques to bring him to

“You know, the color black really accentuates your figure... And if you look this good with it on, I wonder how great you look with it off~”

Beel isn’t interested in fashion or anything related to it. He isn’t picky about the presentation of things (namely; food.)

So he wouldn’t be immediately enticed upon first meeting MC.

But that is not to say that he doesn’t find him VERY pleasing to the eye.

Our sweet boy is not afraid to express his love for those boots!! For the destressed fabrics!! He hangs around him often just so he can sit and ogle at how cool MC looks!! All the damn time!!

Asks MC to come with him to work out just so he could have some motivation by seeing him. And his GAMES. He’s gonna love to see him cheering him on in the stands.

Beel would admit that he himself couldn’t bring himself to care so much about his clothes or ‘aesthetic’ , and couldn’t imagine having such a consistent style.

^ And because of that! He’s dying to see what he looks like in other styles. Of course, if he doesn’t want to change out of the usual attire, just seeing him wearing beel’s huge ass jacket is enough.

Wouldn’t care to buy clothing items for him, but will most certainly stop by devildom’s no. 1 bakery, grab some sweets with that signature gothic devildom appearance and bring it back to the House of Lamentation for him. (Given that he didn’t already eat them.)

In comparison to his personality, MC’s closet isn’t very important.

Beel loves his kind nature! But he will always be there to defend him in any sort of risky situation, especially when any low level demons would like to try and take advantage of MC’s niceness.

Belphie is taken aback the first time he sees him. In the best way possible.

It’s like he just knows that he’s going to be interesting to be with just by seeing his clothing style

He actually probably assumed that MC would be very different from what he’s really like. (Like how people will assume that everyone who wears dark colors often are always sad)

But both to his surprise and not, MC is nothing but kind to him! And he’s kinda like 😳. Damn. Alright. I can get down to this.

Fashion isn’t his expertise, so he isn’t as forward with compliments. It’s mostly, “As long as I’m comfortable when I lay on you, the clothes are fine. Right?”

“I had a dream about you last night... It was like you were some prince clad in black chain mail armor... I suppose we couldn’t make that a reality though, huh? You can be my prince in band tees and ripped jeans.”

The only reason he starts dressing similarly to MC is because of how many times he’ll fall asleep beside him. He knows MC will probably offer one of his jackets or extra shirts, and that he’ll likely get to keep it. (He gives it back eventually, it’s just nice sentiment.)

It’s also kind of entertaining to see some of his brothers go ballistic in response to seeing him adorned in MC’s signature clothes.

eraser.

I sit here wearing a black and purple tartan jumper with moons on the wrist, black pyjama bottoms covered in witchy symbolism, ghosts and skulls. Behind me is a TNBC blanket and in front of me is a stars and moons blanket with the star signs carefully weaved within the stars. This is me. This is part of me and something that has felt like ‘me’ for such an incredibly long time. I don’t really know where the gothy, witchy thing came from. It almost feels as though it has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. The fashion, the music, the community. Everything about it has been an incredibly huge part of my being. More so during my teenage years when they were an even more important part of my identity.

Therapy today revolved around Marilyn Manson. A man, a band and a community that helped to forge my fashion sense, my music taste and who I was as a teenager. Even typing his name right now fills me with a peculiar feeling. A certain degree of unease, of anger and also of upset and pain. Indeed it may seem incredibly strange to have feelings like this regarding a famous person. Yet, this famous person is someone who growing up made me feel like me. He created this world that allowed me to be myself, to not worry about being a ‘weirdo’, a ‘freak’ or one of the ‘others’. I felt like he created a world in which all the people like me felt like they were part of something. It was a place where the weirdos were celebrated and the strange and the odd were the majority. Marilyn Manson was a huge part of my teenage years. It was his music I would sit and listen to when I wanted to shut the world out and play something loud, it was his music that I would crank up when my dad's friends were around at our house and I wanted to piss them off, and it was his music that presented me with gigs to go to that I could dress up and present in the most gothy way I wanted and feel safe. I felt safe at his gigs. I guess that’s slightly ironic now considering the allegations. If I am honest, I don’t know how to feel about any of it. I almost feel like my teenage years are now somewhat tainted.

When I saw the first accusation yesterday, I must admit that I almost wasn’t sure if I believed it. That makes me a terrible feminist I think. Another part of my identity that I feel incredibly passionate about. I was so shocked, genuinely confused and couldn’t believe what I was reading, but as more and more accusations came out I began to realise that it wasn’t some one off thing that was being taken out of proportion - it was true. This man that I had grown up idolising was an abuser, and an abuser of many kinds at that. A domestic abuser, a sexual and violent abuser, someone who did not care for consent, someone who I did not recognise in the man that is still displayed on the wall of my teenage bedroom.

As I sat reading through all the allegations yesterday, I also noticed that I was the only one of my friends that was still following him on Instagram. Within a few hours of the allegations becoming public everyone had unfollowed. I am not saying it was wrong of them to do so, but it really put at the forefront of my mind the way that cancel culture works and just how toxic it is. I still follow him on Instagram, I haven’t quite cut the tie yet. It sounds stupid, but it’s almost like cutting off a period of my life. I explained all of this to my therapist who understood and didn’t think I was going mad. I talked about how it almost concerned me that people may look at his profile and see that I still follow him and believe that I support him and that I do not believe these women that have come forward. That is not true. I guess I am just not ready yet to cut the cord. I will be, at some point, but right now it all still feels so surreal.

I guess as I have gotten older, as much as I still thought he was cool and enjoyed keeping up-to-date with what he was doing, but it also became somewhat more about the music I enjoyed. I feel sorry for members of the band who are not responsible for what this man has done, yet will be tied up with the whole scenario because they were part of the band. In fact, Marilyn Manson is the band, not just one person. By unfollowing does that mean I no longer support the others in the band? What does it mean? I feel conflicted and I feel confused, but believe me, I do not support him as a person.

Noone can deny that musically he was a success, but can we separate the man from the music? That is the question. A question that has been asked many times over the years when similar or more horrific allegations have come out about numerous other people in the public eye - regardless of whether they have been proven (Ian Watkins), of they haven’t (Michael Jackson). I feel a little lost. Can I, or should I still listen to the music? Can I feel a loss that I will most likely never go to one of his concerts again? Can I feel sad that every time I see the T-Shirts, the CD’s and the vinyl's I have of him/them that I now associate it with something much darker than the darkness that I appreciated him for?

Something that has upset and frustrated me on reading some news reports on this topic is how they have described Marilyn Manson's make-up and/or clothing as ‘silly’, or how some people have referred to his artwork and image as ‘disturbing’ or ‘distasteful’. These things are incredibly subjective. Hearing these comments make me feel sad. I feel sad because I am/was one of those people who dressed in ‘silly’ clothes and wore ‘silly’ make-up. It wasn’t silly to me. And it wasn’t silly to the many other people who used their make-up and clothing as a form of self-expression. I also think that describing his artwork as ‘disturbing’ is insulting. Again, this is subjective. Why does art therapy exist if we are not allowed or able to pour out our darkest and innermost thoughts onto a piece of paper? It makes me angry that as always with anything like this, people boil comments down to the fact he committed such horrendous crimes because he was goth, or because he liked the ‘darker side of life, art or music.’ What you listen to, how you dress, or how you draw or paint does not mean you are a monster. I am not denying that these allegations deem him to be a monster, but it did not come from the art of how he chose to express himself through clothing, music or make-up. I worry that this will become an attack of the alternative community. I worry that it will become our community that will receive the brunt of this - that we must all be like that, we must all be disgusting people or not ‘normal’ in a way that means we support him and what he has done. Again, as I said, I do not support him in these things at all, but I truly hate music and self-expression being used as topics to fire at. Neither of these things are an explanation for the behaviour he has been accused of. Music and art do not create a bad person, the bad person is there whether they drive around listening to Ariana Grande, Beyoncé or Marilyn Manson. The ‘alternative’ lifestyle does not become the deciding factor in whether you are good or evil. I want people to know that this is one man, this is not everyone in this community. Not everyone that wears thick black eyeliner, wears big boots and dresses all in black whilst listening to gothic music is an abuser, and I just do not want it to become some sort of target.

Those MM gigs I attended growing up were some of the best I have been to. Walking in and feeling like I belonged. I felt like I had ‘found my people’. I didn’t look out of place, I fit in. I was like everyone else. People were so nice, everyone moved and sang and just enjoyed the music. I used to love walking through Manchester after a gig and just seeing the streets filled with goths, punks and every other alternative persona that people would take on or be. It was just the best feeling, and one that I shall not only miss, but cherish. We did not know. We did not have any idea what was going on behind the scenes. We did not hurt anyone. We did not support what was going on. We did not know.

I also think it is incredibly important to note that he is not the first, and he sure as hell will not be the last. The amount of famous men that have done many of the same things MM is being accused of, and some much worse is insane. I think people may also be shocked at how many allegations are out there about their favourite singer, their idol and the lead singer of that band that they go see every year. At a time when my parents were younger, this sort of behaviour was almost deemed normal. It was okay. It was accepted. People turned their heads. Women were abused all the time. Women were men’s play things. That was the life women had. Thankfully, this is no longer the norm, although of course it is still somewhat part of being female.

I feel conflicted, confused and I’ve babbled on for far too long. Do I love MM’s music? Yes I do. Do I still love MM as a person? No, I sure as hell do not.

I’d probably love to be in Avatar The Last Airbender’s world. I love that series so much.

What room in your house most represents who you are as a person?: The Office. It’s got art supplies, our gaming PC, all of my schoolwork/homework, the drawing tablets..

How clean a person are you?: Tbh I am pretty clean, it’s just cleaning huge messes/unpacking that I hate.

I find the intersections of cultures interesting, specifically the intersections of cultures we are born into and the cultures in which we choose to participate. These chosen cultures may speak to us on many levels, be they emotional, intellectual or even subconscious. We may not know why we are drawn to something but we feel an innate pull to be involved. The free will of humans leads to the most interesting combinations of birth and chosen cultures, which furthers the breadth of manifested identities in the world. Because of my own life experience, I decided to investigate other people of color who choose to be artists and identify as alternative, goth or punk.

During this project I had the privilege to meet, photograph and interview some stellar human beings. People who are unafraid and unapologetic about their artistic choices in this world. I am so inspired by each and every one of you. Thank you for being you and giving me a glimpse into your world.

Ashley - “I just do what I think is fun!”

I met Ashley Norman at school, I remember the day well. She had on a really bright outfit and her makeup was weird and fun. She had drawn wispy lines around her eyes in white eyeliner, like an abstract Picasso portrait – each eye different than the other. I thought it was so unique and I was impressed by her call to push her style in a different direction than her peers. When I met back up with Ashley recently, I asked her, what was her inspiration and the pull to identify as an alternative artist? She said only this: “I just do what I think is fun!” Ashley said she is also inspired by her diverse background. For her, being Black, Korean and Dominican gives her much to pull from historically and artistically.

Selena - “I think the hardest part was me finding my tribe, my kindred spirits. You can’t always spot someone who is alternative all the time, just by looking at them. Sometimes it’s highly internalized and you would never know.”

Selena is an illustrator, whose artwork is centered around themes of alchemy and the occult. She expressed that her drawings of demon girls with detached limbs, reflected her inner feelings of being disconnected from her identity sometimes. I asked her when she started to identify as alternative and for her it was in middle school when she realized that music was so important to her but that she felt little connection to Rap and Hip Hop. “It’s kinda like, when you’re Black, you kinda assume that you’re supposed to like these things, and you kinda do, but…it doesn’t feel like it clicks. Whereas for me rock and alternative music clicked for me, I was more able to relate to the subjects in the songs. I was 14, rap music was not helping me cope with what I’m going through. With Rock, we are talking about anger, feelings, things I could better connect with. From there on out I wore all black and listened to My Chemical Romance.”

Roxas - “It’s totally 100% possible to thrive and be yourself.”

Roxas Timmons was my classmate at LaGuardia in the photo program. I remember the first day I saw them and thinking how committed they were to their style. As I got to know Roxas over the past two years, I have learned of their interesting origin story growing up in the conservative Midwest. Roxas likes to be fluid in their identity and although they mostly identify as goth, they also enjoy dressing as a clown, a ghost, punk, alternative and anything in between. They talked a lot about how music and fashion influences their photography, which is primarily driven by self-portraits. They recounted how they started dressing alternative little by little in high school and after graduating, fully went for it. “I meet a lot of people who always say to me ‘I wish I could dress like that’. I want people to know that they can. They can have a successful career and make their way in the world dressing like this.”

Jacqs - “The art that I give to the world is my self expression. Serving looks.“

Much like many of the people I interviewed for this project, Jacqueline Chavois is a total stranger to me. Stumbling across her Instagram account, I was immediately struck by her incredible style and the collections in her house, where she regularly photographs herself. I asked her about her split tongue and why she would choose to make such a drastic choice of body modification. “I feel like it connects me to my African ancestry because the body modifications – these painful rites of passage, I feel that my African ancestors were doing that. It annoys me when it’s seen as only a White thing. Definitely has indigenous, African, tribal roots.”

Shola - “The aesthetic I want to give off is to live that best version of myself and let it be reflected in the work that I do.”

Shola Aurora is a first generation Nigerian singer-songwriter, born and raised in New York City. He performs an hybrid of rock, metal, and industrial goth music. He is heavily influenced by Japanese culture, having traveled to Japan several times. Anime, video games and Japanese fashion are all major inspirations and play out in his artistic choices. I interviewed him in Saint Marks Place, an area where he was able to truly express himself as a young man growing into his identity. Shola talked about how he came to his own style by being exposed to Visual K, a Japanese branch of glam metal. “Visual K showed me that performing is more than just getting up there and singing a song, you can create a world or an experience. It inspired me to live the best version of myself that I could. It left my mind open in terms of what I was interested in doing. As someone who grew up in Brooklyn in the hood, as a black male, the idea of doing feminine things or wearing makeup is unheard of. It took a lot of personal growth for me to break through to that side of myself.”

Xero - “Everyone needs a little bit of fantasy.”

Xero Gravity is a 24 year old biracial Black/Jewish cosplayer and digital content creator who centers herself around diversity and inclusion in the horror and sci-fi realms. I asked her to speak about why these genres are so important to her. “I feel horror is the best lens through which to look at society’s fears as a whole. What people are scared of at a certain time says a lot about what people are going through. When you look at the history of horror, it doesn’t really look good for Black and Brown people like us. We have a very complicated history with the horror genre. I always bring the discussion of horror and Blackness back to Birth of a Nation, the first feature film. It features a white woman in ‘peril’ being hunted by a white man in blackface. Woodrow Wilson screened this in the White House and endorsed it as factually correct. At the end the ‘black man” is hunted down and killed by the KKK, putting the KKK in a favorable light. No one talks about how this is the scariest film ever if you’re a Black person.”

Uny - “My art is fashion. My art is clothes, my art is expression. The way I dress is a total expression of the way I view my world through my lens.”

Unyquee Loretta Ortiz is a seamstress and cosplayer who identifies as Black and Latinx. Born and raised in the Bronx, she spoke about how her heritage plays into her stylistic choices. “I often wear a lot of African prints because I want to be connected to Africa in the best way that I can do it. I was raised around my Latinx culture so I go out of my way to make my Black heritage more visual. A lot of people don’t look at me and see Latinx because my skin isn’t as fair or olive, but I feel very connected to that side of myself because I grew up around it. Sometimes I think people tend to push that aside and want it to not be there because of how I look.”

Saeran

Saeran is the man that will vibe with you like nobody else.

He can't judge a book by it's cover because if he did that, he would be dooming himself to the very same fate. He's always been more lured to the darker, and gloomier side of things. If he had a choice, then he would be dressed in muted tones and in all black. He's not really going to put a lot of work into it, either. If he likes it, he slaps it on and that's nice.

That's not to say that he's totally what we all consider a true goth, though. He's just a very minimalist type who aims to blend into the big darkness. Just leave it to simple black sweaters or turtlenecks. He'll pop in the spikes and the collars and the chokers just for kicks when he feels like it. Just depends. He just likes the style and the aesthetic but that doesn't invalidate him. It's the thing that he used to freely separate himself from the rest of the damned cult.

So, he takes one look at this MC and he’s like, okay, I can vibe with this. It wasn’t what he expected but there’s not a problem in the world with that one, nope, he’s more than happy to be close to somebody that gets his aesthetic really good.

You two have a lot in common from the surface, but there are some subtle differences on the inside that separate you. Saeran is hard on the outside but soft on the inside. He’s got more domestic hobbies and he really doesn’t listen to music. Whereas you’ve got a grungey vibe and enjoy the finer things in life, meaning the macabre and the fun.

Yet, one glance at the two of you in public leaves people left to assume that you’re both just the same kind of grungey punks.

Saeran is intrigued though by some of your hobbies. He’s always wanted to get more into supernatural things. He’s always an inkling of something inside of him but he’s never had the time to get to learning. He likes to learn and you’ve got a lot of things in your collection and disposal that he’s never seen before, and a lot of info that he didn’t know where to start from. He likes you to listen to you fixate and talk about your interests. Everybody else in the room may be cringing or looking away because the two of you get rather involved in your discussions and those with weak stomachs just can’t seem to cut it.

He’s rather infatuated from the start. Saeran loves your vibe and makes no qualms about it. He’s got the same style. Though, sometimes he may like your jacket a bit too much and borrow it from you. There’s a lot of mixing and matching going on in this household with your shared wardrobe.

Seven

Seven is a man of wild colors and bright patterns who looks like he walked right into the zany era of pop art color and crawled right back out of it to look like a vibrant hot mess discounted Ronald McDonald and somehow make it look really dope as hell. Seven has found something that works for him but he doesn't really have a set style that defines him apart from the mishmash he made for himself. He can put on anything and feel right at home in it without any worries. He's never had the option to have picky tastes so he's never really thought about it.

He's okay with anything.

He really doesn't think hard. His life is a lot like his personal choices, a big swirling pot of outcomes that don't seem to twine just right yet somehow the puzzle pieces smash together.

He takes one look at this MC from the CCTV and he’s a bit stumped. You’ve got such a cute face and you’re got an aesthetic that he hardly ever sees. Seven is unsure of how to approach you. He assumes at first that your tone and attitude may be more surly. Then, he talks to you on the phone for the first time and oh, oh my God, you’re the nicest and sweetest person that he’s ever spoken to in his life, and your laugh is enough to steal his soul.

You’ve just got interests that are a little different from everybody. He likes to cozy up to you, and when he stops being such a butthead, he takes every opportunity to get hugs from you. Everybody assumes right off the bat that you’re the one that they should fear crossing but it’s the other way around. The goofball is the one that has all the power and you’re such a sweetie. It’s kind of hilarious when you’re together because you’re always turning heads.

Seven doesn’t mind that attention when it comes to turning heads. He’ll get more involved in your style when he gets closer to you, and he’ll often time ask you for your opinion on what he would look best in. There’s a lot of fashion shows in his closet when he’s just jumping in and out to try and enthrall you. He’ll playfully mess with you by borrowing your clothes, but he’ll make it even by tossing his jacket at you.

He’s got his own weird fixations. He makes robots and AI for fun, just for the hell of it. So, he really doesn’t say much about what you like. He can be a little superstitious and uneasy around the supernatural but as long as you carefully reassure him when those are involved then he’s not bothered.

He does like to listen to you talk about the cursed things that you own. He often ponders how things can get so cursed over time and if you two could find something modern that’s haunted.

That’s kooky hijinks!

V is also a big minimalist.

In all parts of his life, he tends to keep things simple and not overbearing. He just thinks that things have order and he feels better when he knows where all the items are and there isn’t too much overbearing clutter to bother him with clutter. There isn't much he wants or desires and he keeps things neat and tidy. Be it from the way he keeps his house from looking any more than a spick and span museum, or the way that he tries

He tends not to think too much overall about the style choices he wears.

V hasn't really changed his ways ever since he was a kid, the same could have been said for Jumin. He's got a simple but very relaxed look that he wears and it's nothing overall too flashy or too noticeable compared to the part around him. He's never really given it much thought and he just sticks to what feels okay to him and that's pretty much that. He’s just a simple man who doesn’t think too hard about the way he looks.

Now, he comes to learn rather fast that not everyone is like that. You’ve got a style about you that he’s never really come across. He knows plenty of artists and photographers that have a personal brand of style, but he’s not had the chance to be around those that have a style like yours. So, he’s intrigued by your choice. He would be one of those to be unsure momentarily of you but wouldn’t show that on his face. He’s too polite for that.

V comes to really appreciate you. You’ve got an energy that is somehow both comforting and imposing. You can draw people into you and you can keep those that you don’t like at bay. He’s always had nervous energy around others but when he’s with you, he finally doesn’t even think about that. He can just hold your hand and breathe in a sigh of relief. You even get him to think harder in appreciation of more colors that he’s never really considered.

Being an artist, he’s always looking for that next sense of wonder, and you’ve captivated him like nothing else ever has in this world. You’re tough but you’re delicate, you’re sweet but you’re macabre, etc. He often compliments you very sincerely when you look like you’re radiating confidence. He sees that you feel more at ease in muted tones, and in ripped jeans. He may not get it himself but he loves that you’ve found something that works for you.

V has really only ever been invested in the music that his mother held dear to her heart. Apart from that, he’s never gotten too in touch with it. You give him the chance to look into other avenues and find other messages in it. He’ll actually be really into it, believe it or not. Does that mean there’s death metal at the house? Yes, yes it does.

He’s also kind of odd when it comes to hobbies. So, he really doesn’t judge you for what you’re invested in. He’ll listen to you give the story and history behind what you’ve got in your hands and he’ll nod mindfully. It’s important to you so that means that it’s important to him. He likes to learn and understand more about how you see the world and find beauty in places nobody else looks.
