This deep-sea denizen isn’t your average anemone. Unlike its shallow-water cousins, the pom-pom anemone (Liponema brevicorne) doesn’t like to stay attached to rocks or other hard surfaces. In fact, it can roll itself up into a ball and cruise the currents along the seafloor like a tentacled tumbleweed. Talk about ‘rolling in the deep’!

stede didn’t untie it for him, or drag him out of the water, or even say anything that changed ed’s mind. he didn’t touch him. he didn’t say a word. he just existed in ed’s space and gave off light and hope and waited until he was ready to choose life himself

the show is absolutely not trying to say ‘mental illness can be fixed by finding a partner’ or ‘you can’t change by yourself, you have to rely on other people’

all it’s saying is the very true and hopeful message of ‘you can get better by yourself but it’s easier if you have help. somebody loves you and wants to help you’

you don’t always have to go for the most negative interpretation you can find and use it as a stick to beat the entirety of s2 with

This AV Club comment is making me so desperate to write a romcom, you have no idea.

#adventures in writing #the trouble is that the idea begins and ends with 'romcom!'#the same way my desire to write mysteries would be 'they solve a mystery!' and i'd have no idea what the mystery was #there's this idea that keeps niggling me #from back when i was just braindumping potential elements i might want to make use of in an inklings story #and looking back at it later the list elements of 'arranged marriage' and 'rom com' stuck out #as well as a world that involves politics and mermaids #and my brain keeps trying to tell me this is a viable idea while providing zero plot or characters #see the thing about rom coms is that they require detailed characters who need their own arcs #the thing i'm bad at!#so it's hard to fulfill this writing craving because all my brainstorming instincts to start with the plot work against me here

it's barely been a day and i'm still inconsolable.

sunjae told sol "i feel like time had stopped until now, and it's finally passing as it should," only to have his timeline come to an end that very night.

i'm thinking about him on the balcony, how his final thought must have been about sol: "i didn't even get to hear her voice one last time."

i'm thinking about sol, too, the desperation and fierce love with which she's tried to anchor sunjae — to her, to happiness, to life and existence itself. but no matter what she does, he just keeps slipping through her fingers.

sol's relationship with him reminds me of this lovely art piece by holly warburton, called "spirit hold."

sol's trying her hardest, but she just can't hold on to him.

Hangster kid fic AU somehow based on my fav (childhood) rom-com, Just Love Me (pol. Tylko mnie kochaj, 2006) - this has been in my drafts for ages because I had so much trouble rewording the plot from Polish to English but let's leave it as it is...

Jake, who is a successful naval aviator about to be promoted, is selected for special training in North Island, where he sees Bradley, his ex casual fling from around 5-6 years ago, still in flight school. Their paths had parted when Jake had started trying hard for his career to go forward and Bradley suddenly withdrew from his completely, eventually disappearing. He is now working a boring assistant flight instructor position in North Island and has very low career prospects compared to Jake. Jake pretends he doesn't know him.

Jake's carefully planned life changes when someone knocks on his door and he opens them to find a little girl on his doorstep, Mitch, telling him she's his daughter and refusing to say anything else about her life

Jake has no other choice but to take care of her while trying to find her other parent

(This is obviously his daughter that came to be from the fling he and Bradley had years ago, duh, and she comes into his life telling him to "Just love her". Mav might or might not interfere in the shenanigans.)

did my annual christmas love actually rewatch and emma thompson's line to alan rickman after she confronts him for cheating on her and he says "i've been such a fool" and she says 'but you've made the life i lead look foolish too"

made me think of how i imagine obi-wan would feel if anakin came clean about his marriage to him while still carrying on pretending to be a jedi while flagrantly disregarding aspects of the code that obi-wan has personally always struggled and pushed himself to adhere to despite the heartache it's given him -- meanwhile anakin sees no problem being both a jedi and married/attached

I'm glad they gave the Sunday slot to Only Boo. When Cooking Crush was airing, my Sunday was only meant to watch fluffy and sweet series and now with Only Boo, it's just the same feeling.

I feel like Only Boo is the perfect substitute for Cooking Crush. Gmmtv should keep only light and cute series on Sunday. So, you finish the week on a positive note and you can be ready for the next one. 😊

look it’s okay to just not like the show

you don’t need to bend over backwards to try and explain how you definitely love the show but you hate ed and/or stede and/or their relationship

you just don’t like the show. you don’t like the protagonists and you don’t think they’re sympathetic and you don’t want them to end up together at the end of the rom com. which means you don’t like the show

what you’ve found there is a show that you fundamentally dislike that has some redeeming qualities and some characters that you do like

and that’s fine. that’s allowed. free yourself
