Ren is SUCH a wet dog this season, every single episode he appears in he comes off as this PATHETIC SOPPING WET DOG MAN that is trying really hard to look cool!!

"I'm working hard mining with you guys! I'm organizing!" - Doesn't contribute anything, gets mocked by his co-workers

"No guys!! My game is really difficult!!! If you die you don't get anything!! There's no exceptions!!!" - Dies while doing a basic task

"I'm going to make a big tower!! So menacing!!" - Makes a tiny tiny tower, gets mocked by his neighbors

"Guys please help I'm stuck on my tower" - Fucking dies again

Twelfth Night Designs: Malvolio

I’ve decided to just start putting out my TW character designs (even if not all of them are finished) and Imma put the full set in a separate post. But for now, I’ll also put them out their by themselves. Besides, it gives me opportunity to explain some stuff if necessary.

So Malvolio. There are many different portrayals of this character, and I didn’t want my design to fit in any one specific box. So I decided to make a very “neutral” design for Malvolio so that he could fit in any version that I wanted. He could be snobby but not terrible. He could be purposefully annoying and antagonizing. He could be my group’s version, who is actually somewhat intimidating and not a very likable person. He could be the fandom’s poor little meow meow. He could fit into any box you want.

So I looked at one of my best character designs, who can fit perfectly into the “he’s the worst but I kinda feel bad” vibe. Then I used some of the most affective elements of that design and used it to make this guy. I did need to look up a reference to draw the hair, but it turned out perfect.

Speaking of the hair, you can’t see it, but he’s actually got a founding father style ponytail in the back, with a ribbon and everything. The front is different, but the back sure ain’t. That was my favorite part of his design, and you shall see it whenever I draw him from the side.

Theater family things: Coming home from a production and the entire family tears apart every mistake in the production. Sound tech issues, ensemble tightness, clarity of speech , staging choices. Like, anything less than perfection, and anything they didn't like personally gets torn apart.

And I'm sitting over here wanting to talk about cool lighting choices and costume symbolism.
