People saying that the hostages (HOSTAGES) were treated well because they were smiling when they were leaving their captors is insane.

It's like durring the holocaust when the nazis brought in people to record in the work camps and the jews were smiling in the videos because it was the first time they were properly being fed.

Do you have your tissues? Go get em because I’m reading All The Young Dudes and I’m currently in the beginning of 1981. For those who haven’t read ATYD, at this time Remus and Sirius’s relationship is sort of falling apart at this time; Sirius and Remus don’t trust each other enough and despite living together they don’t talk anymore , at least not about the important things. You do not need to have read ATYD to understand this but be warned, it will hit much harder if you have. So bearing all this in mind, today's song is You’re Losing Me: Midnights from the vault. POV Remus.

Sirius and Remus never talk about anything real except to fight. They don’t understand each other like they used to. Remus used to think they would work it out but now he thinks they won’t. Remus sits in their flat and remembers how excited they were to live together; he wonders where the excitement and love went.

Remus is breaking apart, wondering if he should give up or keep fighting for Sirius. He can’t stop thinking of the moment that they knew for sure that there was a spy in the order, and how the first person Sirius looked at was him.

Remus began to fight with Sirius, to lash out because of his own pain. Sirius says he loves Remus but their love is dying.

Their whole world has become war, life has become loss and fear. Remus feels that Sirius is tired of all his problems and the way he continues to advocate for werewolves despite the growing prejudice. Remus resents him for it and for how Sirius only seems to realize what he has after Remus has been gone on a long mission.

Remus doesn't know how long they can continue before they are gone to far. Remus gave Sirius the best of him and after all that he gave for Sirius and all they fought for they are ending and he can’t stop it.

Unless you're choosin' me

Remus is begging Sirius to want him again. To risk anything, give anything, do anything to choose Remus like he did when they were younger. They are at a standstill, too proud to beg for love and too broken to suffer any longer.

When buzzed I drew Frank crying in fear (LMAO CRY OF FEAAAEERR🫵🫵) anyways I was like “wow that’s fucked up, … how can I add to that?” Anyways Ghost and Frank got locked up in Timothy Bitchfather Casket’s murder basement. And Ghost couldn’t handle the stress/memories and whOOPSIE JIMMY CASKET!!

Jimmy tried protecting Ghost from the basement in the past. Frank didn’t get to see the basement much. Not that he’d remember.

Jews can never feel fully safe. No matter what we do, we always end up being the problem.

If Jews try to creat their own seperated pockets in society, they are hated for othering.

If jews try to assimilate or become more like the outside culture, they are considered invaders.

And whatever formula we use, no matter what, we have a short period of time where it works. At least it looks like it works. Everyone seems to be getting along fine.

And then it all falls apart again. And the truth comes out about how the world feels. And suddenly we are the cause of every problem.

Jews can never feel fully calm because even when we do, we know that those days are numbered.

This is random but do you know if any of the Boy’s fathers served in ww2 ?

Ooh, what a great question anon!

If I recall correctly, no, none of them served directly in the military. I think they were all of an age where they weren't going to get called in unless they were already serving, if you know what I mean. I'm going to give you my off the top of my head, what I remember from Tune In, answer, rather than do a big research dive (I'm busy and dizzy). If anyone has any more details or corrections, please chime in!

John's dad Alf was in the merchant navy, (which: I gotta be honest I don't know what the relationship is between the merchant navy and the navy navy). He definitely had some involvement with the war and there was something about him stealing supplies and getting arrested.

Ringo's biological dad left the family when Ritchie was about 4, and his adoptive dad was a baker during the war (which meant they had sugar for their tea).

One of Jim or Harry was in some kind of volunteer fire-fighting unit in Liverpool. I can't remember which one, and I have a vague feeling Lewisohn was a bit snippy about it. Anyone remember that?
