Just saying I would lowkey love to read more about the CMY siblings + Gordons' involvement in it mentioned in one of the last answers if you're up for it. You've got me hooked on your interpretation of these characters/your ocs omfg

YEAHHH ok so this is a brief idea of how the cmy story was gonna go:

Evie goes to Arden and hires him to kill her brother in exchange for less time imprisoned + letting him take out his own brother.

MEANWHILE 👇

Kell wants to reconnect with Gordon a bit more so Gordo decides to introduce him to the science team. Shenanigans ensue and SURPRISE! Evie sends a message to Tommy for a family reunion @ where she lives. The team + Benny + Kell decides to take this meet n’ greet to Evie.

They eventually get to where Evie is and she isn’t anticipating other ppl so she attempts to split Tommy from the rest of the group. However! Arden is wayy too giddy at the opportunity to catch his own brother off guard which ruins Evie’s initial plan.

So now the team is on the run- Arden’s on their tail alongside whoever else who was hired by Evie.

Eventually the group is forced into a divide, with Kell Bubby and Benrey off from the main group.

(Now this is where James importance would be established) turns out Benny n’ Kell where both caught. Arden is free to do whatever with his brother while Kell and Bubby are handed off to James to fuck around with as humans are so easy to experiment on 😚

Gordo, Dr. C, n’ Tommy are elsewhere recovering and eventually meet one of Ben’s siblings (Dune? probably)

The group somehow finds out the other half’s whereabouts and plans to get em’ back.

(This is where things are vague)

They get to James lab??? and get both Ben and Bubby back but are unsure where Kell is.

They are eventually pursued by Arden and some masked robot guy with a sword. Dramatic reveal! It’s Kell (parallel to Gordon’s HEV suit but he’s the one being piloted by the armor) not in control, he lobs off Gordon’s arm and catches Tommy 😬

ANNNNDDD THATS ALL I GOT. yeah lol. But that’s what I wanted to do with the CYM story- Kell’s involvement is more as a reluctant villian is something I’ve thought about a lot heehee ^^

But yeah!! Kinda cheesy ik but this was still a huge work in progress and is sorta old (Evie was still Amira. James’ existence was still solid and Arden’s involvement with capturing Tommy was on and off)

I suppose a little bit of a follow up — has any one of the siblings approached Arden about the past now that they're grown up and realize how wrong everything was?

Has anyone approached Benry about it?

Has anyone decked Arden like he deserves?

To answer your first and last question, yes! Dune specifically, he was always sort of headstrong and direct (but wasn’t the kind of guy to butt into other’s affairs) but after Ben and Arden fought which resulted in Ben leaving he finally let out how he felt.

And rightfully decked him in the face before leaving himself- to pursue being a cowboy lmao

As for ppl asking Benrey about it- Emmet was the first one to approach him and ask about it while Ben was the one opened up to Juno. Both felt awful about the situation, and apologized saying that they should’ve intervened.

In Emmet’s case Ben was a tad frustrated because he was the outgoing one who tended to check up on everybody- but not him.

In Juno’s case however she was pretty small when she was younger, like to a point where it was considered she was also a runt like Ben until she hit a growth spurt, so they had a closer relationship for a bit :)

Family Reunions can be… understandably tense at times (not just because of everyone fawning over Gordo lol)

What's Arden's relationship with the other siblings like?

Arden was a force to be reckoned with when he was younger- and he made that clear. Nobody really truly got along with him, so they tended to steer clear of interacting with him. And so long as he targeted Ben- hey! At least he’s not bothering anyone else!

That was the mentality at least when they were all growing up and by ignoring Arden they were also ignoring Ben’s silent calls for help too :(( they only all realized they fucked up in that regard when they all got older. They do care! But because nobody did anything back then there are wounds that are unable to heal on Ben’s side- which made him pretty closed off from the majority who stood by.

(And if you are wondering “But Juno’s so big!! She could’ve done something!” She wasn’t always big- she was quite small when she was younger and felt that she couldn’t do anything either :( she did tell their mom tho, but that really did little to help)

As for their reactions Arden messing with Gordo? Yeah they wouldn’t be thrilled. They’d likely step in if anyone told them about it happening THIS TIME not only to make up for what they didn’t do to help their own brother but because they all really like Gordo. ><

I ADOREEE your hlvrai ocs, you do such a great job at worldbuilding + expanding the cast. While I love Benrey's siblings and Eve dearly, I was curious if you had any other family headcannons for the other members of the science team? I know you've drawn John and Joshua before, and Bubby doesn't exactly have a biological family persay (if you exclude his hundreds of horrific prototype brothers). But outside Dr. Coomers wife I dont see many backstories for him, and I'd love to see if you had any headcannons him specifically or really about any of their families you'd like to share if you're interested, since you always seem to nail making super creative relatives and backstories for all these characters. Only if you want to, though! Once again, I love your stuff!! 💕💕 ^^

As for general info I have yet to dabble into (at least for family stuff regarding the other science team members:

Gordo-

Ppl who’ve been here long enough know about him n’ Kell and Joshie so I’m not gonna go into that too much- (tho I’ve been wanting Kell to be more involved.. I actually have sm unspoken ideas regarding him and the CMY siblings story stuff that I may or may not ever get into but I won’t delve into that here bc otherwise this whole thing is just gonna be about him. Ask if you’re curious tho!!) and as for direct relatives, he’s an only child (John n’ his son are more of like- an alternate reality brother and nephew to Gordo. Kell’s got a younger sister he considers to be his sort-of sister tho)

Bubby-

closest thing he has to family, like you said, are the prototypes and whatever other experiment was made when he was in the tube. Not much I thought of there beyond that.

Dr. Coomer-

Still developing the relationship he had with his ex-wife. I don’t want them really to have a super nasty reason for splitting, bc I see that all the time, but there’s a sort of complexity to why they split.

I want to say both were in the cybernetics department and both had levels of physical alterations with mechanical parts when they first met (and how they bonded) but to where the split happened I may be taking the line “but they took her in the divorce!” too literally. I have concepts! But nothing written down or figured out tho, like I said.

Aaand that’s as much as I have for the others 😭 kinda slow as I’m juggling/developing Ben n’ Tommy’s atm but I’ll get there!!
