I feel like modern au zuko can drive, is very good at it, has his license, and will get you where you need to go but like. with very dangerous efficiency. he drives like Evel Knievel. he drives like a bat out of hell. he whips the wheel hard as fuck and you will see Jesus even if the drive is from your house to the corner store. his car is used and like 10 years old but she is strong and loyal just like her master and wont break down for anything. she'll tear over anything in her path. zuko has given iroh so many mini heart attacks while driving him around (<- because iroh does NOT have his license). worst of all is that zuko does NOT talk or road rage ever when he drives he's DEAD SILENT and simply blasts the radio. and its always either terrifying Chinese opera or crazy shit like Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd

A question I have just recently,
can Sebek handle spicy?
Tumblr media
this is what i generally think of fae.
tho i think,
lilia knows spicy spices from his travel.
even tho in dragon form, malleus breathes fire from his mouth, and fire is hot, it might be like the kind of fire that doesn't hurt him in the first place
sebek father might bring spicy spice from human world with him, but since i think of him as a mellow man, he might not be interested in spicy food in the first place

Just saw someone on Twitter complain about the lack of Japanese people in Oppenheimer, and what did you expect??? Did you want the final act to be the bomb dropping and see people burning alive???
The reason why we don't see a Japanese perspective is because one, including a Japanese perspective, just to see how bad the suffering was would be exploitation. Two, to see an accurate and sensitive take on how the japanese felt about Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan (as incredible as he is) isn't the right person to do this. And three, it's based on Oppenheimer's biography
Oppenheimer, the movie, literally shows you people (mostly the superiors, because by the middle/end of it you see Oppenheimer regretting his creation) doing something dubious and inhumane because they removed themselves away, both emotionally and physically, from the people they are hurting.
Nagasaki and Hiroshima only exist in those men's distant thoughts and imaginations. One guy literally asks to take a city off the bombing because that's where he had his honeymoon. It's disturbing and unsettling, as if those people were not real human beings. The lack of Japanese people drives the entire point home.
Also, Japanese cinema is right there. Barefoot Gen, Grave of the Fireflies, or Hiroshima (responsible for showing to many Americans the effects of the bombs for the first time) are just a few of the many, many decades of post-war Japanese movies we have

Not to sound weak and basic, but I could never have been "friends" with Lucien.
I could not have been or be *just* friends with Lucien.
Feyre's built differently.

I am processing nettle to do various fiber craft experiments with and you may notice the terrible stock pot situation which resulted in me setting a towel on fire briefly but hey. I have successfully made nettle cordage. The difference in color is dependent on how much I scraped and cleaned the fiber before use!
Unfortunately the journey is far from over and I expect I shall be in nettle hell for weeks to come
Other nettle projects include spinning, papermaking, dyeing (root and leaf) and eating. I have already eaten it but I think the season is wrong. Not much taste only texture. anyways! Good times and also suffering

sorry if this ask sent twice! What's it like when Ash becomes a princess? Is her personality explained by the "loss" she suffered during the carriage accident, or were there always people who suspected that something else must've happened that day?
A mix of a couple factors I think. The original princess who Ash replaced grew up in seclusion for most of her life due to a terminal sickness she'd been born with. She had been called for by the king (who wanted to see if her health had improved. it hadn't) and was on her way when the regrettable incident happened and she died.
When the search party came upon Ash in the wreckage, not enough people had known of the original princess's appearance well to notice if she looked different (the original corpse was burnt beyond recognition and discarded somewhere) and the king was selfishly pleased that the princess' affliction had seemingly been fully healed. Later on, when Ash's sadistic nature became more apparent, people were willing to turn a blind eye because of her royal status. And when war befell them, they were even more willing to excuse her behaviour when she proved herself to be a fearsome asset on the battlefield.
The remaining people who had known of the original princess definitely noticed the changes to her appearance/personality but were too scared to bring it up publically. So instead, rumours began circulating that a monster had been brought back in the princess's place.
Ash, for what it's worth, didn't do much to dissuade these rumours. In her opinion, they were pretty accurate.
