Let me drown.

I was feeling aggrieved recently because this coming semester, through a conjunction of circumstances, I’m going to be the only woman in my college department and it feels like going back in time. But this project and its photographs are incredibly uplifting - if these brilliant women could push through then so can I.

THE ONLY WOMAN
Rebecca is raving about THE ONLY WOMAN by Immy Humes.
“The title and cover are a bit enigmatic, but this is actually a really interesting collection of historical photos with thoughtful commentary. In each photo, a woman appears, solo, in a group of men. Funny, sad and discomforting.” - Rebecca
This striking pictorial statement brings to light the compelling and undeniable phenomenon of 'the only woman': across time and cultures, groups of artists, activists, scientists, servants, movie stars, or metal workers include only one woman.
We’ve included from the book- Kathrine Switzer running in the 1967 Boston Marathon- before women were allowed to run in the race.

My take on the whole 'the JL gets mad at Batman for having a child soldier when he gets robin' thing goes like this:
The League is having a fight with Batman saying it's wrong to bring a child, especially with no powers, into fights with supervillains and it's irresponsible to put children in danger
And Batman interrupts with "so you take him then"
And the League just kind pause, like "huh?"
"One of you can babysit Robin for a week and then we can revisit this discussion."
They're a little confused but eventually Wonder Woman agrees to take him in.
She returns with him a week later. "I apologize Batman, we have misjudged you. I adore him but please take him back now."
(she couldn't get him to stop sneaking out to fight crime without physically restraining him)

everyone always says Noi Dorohedoro is very hot and as proof they show you the picture of her in a corset as if Noi didn't spend most of the time looking like this:
and occassionally like this:
appreciate Noi as she normally is or perish is what I say
