Daniel answers questions about rumors that he has a temporary contract with Ferrari giving them sole negotiating power until June, the possibilities of leaving for Ferrari or Mercedes and watching Red Bull have a winning season, his relationship with Red Bull at the moment, and his manager’s involvement in the contract process!

The Ferrari discussion really makes me think about an alternate universe where Seb and Daniel are reunited at Ferrari! And Ferrari has their shit together because I need it to end with Daniel winning the championship.

All the foreshadowing in this interview and the 2018 China pre-race interview about what he thinks/how he would feel about a situation like Kimi at Ferrari, racing to help Seb- crazy!! And even wilder knowing this + Daniel’s amazing China win we’re right before THE BAKU.

i feel like ten and martha's friendship is kind of doomed from the start because like. ten kind of needs a friend to be around him lest he go insane (even if he's in semi denial about it). and martha likes and admires him in return. and they both inherently trust and rely each other, because how could they not. but also ten is very much not in a great place at all. he just lost rose and refuses to talk about her with anyone. the guilt is eating him alive and he's trying so hard to ignore it and it's resulting in him becoming more and more reckless and self-sacrificing. and he (unintentionally) puts it all on martha. he trusts her to save him and he also trusts her to sacrifice him in the name of saving people. and at the same time every time he finds himself getting closer to or more vulnerable with her he stops and pushes her away (see: his guilt over rose). and that is so unfair. that is so much to put on one person, especially someone that is in a spot of mutual care and trust. like i wish martha had met ten when he was more stable/healthy/not haunted by his extremely fresh grief but she didn't, and i think they will save each other over and over until one of them comes apart at the seams. basically

the thing about killugon is like……… i have plenty of ships, dare i say the majority, that interest me simply because of the potential. there’s chemistry, there’s an interesting dynamic, i like the idea of the characters together & want to see more

but killugon is not one of those ships

killugon is not about potential. killugon is about repeated, life-or-death displays of devotion. killugon is about being the other’s salvation, over and over and over again. killugon is about characters who grow & experience so much together that their lives & stories & souls become inextricably intertwined

i guess what i’m trying to say is i have a ton of ships that mostly boil down to “i like the dynamic between these characters & choose to interpret their relationship as romantic bc it’s fun & interesting!!” meanwhile killugon is “it is irrelevant whether this relationship is romantic—these characters are everything to each other”

i think another big thing about the current aquaruby dynamic that oshi no ko fans Do Not See is the fact that aqua doesn’t HAVE any power over ruby anymore. obviously when he was visiting her hospital room as a doctor he held a position of authority over her. he was taking on the role of doctor and guardian for her in a way, and he clearly felt responsible for her and wanted to be there for her in the absence of her parents.

but the last several chapters have made it abundantly clear that the power dynamics between them have shifted to ruby, who as aqua’s twin sibling is now his equal, rather than his charge. now that they stand on equal footing, she’s used manipulation tactics to force him into submission and thereby take a position of power over him. by projecting ai onto gorou, she’s made it impossible for aqua to shed his past self and move on without hurting her. and, she’s taken gross advantage of both abiko and yoriko’s directorial tactics to ensure that she gets to kiss aqua on-screen, thereby sealing him into a relationship with her. aqua has no power here. his own sister and the directors are working against him to lock him into The Bad End (incest route).

which, ignoring my previous tags about the parallels between aqua and ai, also feels disturbingly similar to how hikaru was abused by airi…

the excuse of “it’s an adaptation of coURSE it’s not going to be perfect” is so funny to me as if one piece didn’t do MONUMENTALLY WELL bc it is a literal frame by frame copy of the source material and tbh that’s not even exactly what i wanted (mostly bc it’s impossible to achieve with atla in live action and it not look cringey and cheap as fuck) but it’s such a lazy excuse lmfao they had what? over 8 hours of content atla runs for the same time (actually even less if you take out the beginning and ending credits) so this excuse of cutting down for the sake of time is a joke. they had the time to do the proper plot points they chose not to for the sake of adding weird death scenes, weird clunky romances with sokka? and massacring the plot points. it felt like the people who made this show hated atla tbqh. like the only parts they liked were the “main quest parts” (spoiler alert damn near everything that happens in atla is relevant to the main plot down to katara’s fucking necklace and sokka’s boomerang) it feels like they didn’t know the source material at best and at worst straight up didn’t fucking care. None of the characters are true to their core traits, none of the arcs are treated with any kind of respect or even just the courtesy of basic coherence. i don’t understand how anyone who actually likes and understands atla can go “oh em gee it’s just bandwagon hate it was actually so good teehee” have some fucking standards for gods sake

it is VERY tempting for me to answer, "every fucking time ryoji showed up on screen!" ok this might be an exaggeration, i like 90% of his screentime, december 2nd ryoji should've been portrayed more like a pathetic wet dog imo but i digress. but hm... favorite moment.

while the helper's club montage has a very strong place in my heart (it permeated my braincells without my permission)!! i think my favorite part of ryomina's portrayal in the movies is the whole sentence finishing thing they got going on. i feel like that's a cop out answer but like.

there is something so so gut wrenching to me about how they start off by making it so that ryoji is the one finishing minato's sentences. always ryoji. BUT THEN!!! when they meet again at the top of tartarus to do battle on judgment day!! they turn it on it's head!! and it's minato!! who finishes the sentence!! and fuck man does it make me feel like i'm being kicked down a staircase.

and to have the sentence finishing happen again for such an important day?? god idk im gonna tear up and someone needs to like. give me like. a chew toy or something this makes me so fucking insane (blows up) (blows up).

so basically my favorite moment is really like, january 31st, but a lot of my attachment to it is BECAUSE they have that set-up in november with ryoji being the silliest fucking guy to have ever walked at gekkoukan. and oh man oh man the fucking. THE. when. WHEN THEY FOLLOW IT UP WITH MINATO SUMMONING THANATOS AFTER THIS?? yeah man. that's the fucking shit.

like i don't think the english language is enough to convey how much i love the artistic choice to have the flash frame of ryoji when minato summons thanatos. it's the hesitation and rebellion babey!!! the whole scene afterwards is so fucking juicy as well.

honorable mention to when ryoji jumped off the fucking roof at iwatodai station to tell minato that he has kindness in his eyes and that he doesn't like seeing him alone. what kind of guy does that. that's so fucking hilarious to me like actually. he was insane for that.

anyway that is my answer i HOPE u enjoyed reading it, god, ryomina still makes me eyes watery (it's been almost 2 years since i've met them??? what the fuck). i feel like others have echoed this sentiment before but nevertheless i was super happy to type it out :D
