How would NCT127 react if they made their significant other cry
How Would NCT127 React If They Made Their S/O Cry
Taeil
It will really depend on where exactly he made you cry
if you start crying in public he will feel uneasy
and his first move would be to take you away so people don't stare
if you guys are in private he behaves differently
he will mostly try to understand why you are crying
and why was it his fault
Taeil would want to talk about it
He would listen to you and try to understand your feelings
He would apologize if he hurt you
and he would try to compensate by snuggling with you
hug you
or give you a sorry kiss
Johnny
Johnny is a paradox
because when he hurts you and your response is by crying he will conflict with his own feelings
firstly of course he feels bad
he will want to listen to your point
of why you crying, why you reacting like that
he might even understand you
but on another side, he is way too careless
and his emotional reticence will make him think that you are overacting (again)
and that can be conflicting if he says out loud that he thinks you are being dramatic about the whole thing
He will try to be fair
but mostly he doesn't talk much to solve the thing
he will let you do whatever you want because he doesn't want to be dragged on "your drama"
Probably uses his romantic side to make you forgive him
he might take things to a physical level as well
Taeyong
Taeyong can be sharp sometimes
and if he hurt you he might not understand it at first glance
seeing you cry will make him understand
However careful, because his placements also indicate that when he hurts someone he might take the victim role
in a way "oh I hurt you, I am the bad guy, leave me" type
So depending on you this would result in a fight
or in something quiet where both of you take some time away from each other to reflect
but he ain't stupid either
and he wouldn't like to stay in such a mood
he would be the type to annoy you, to be playful until you forgive him about what he did
Yuta
Oh this boy will hate himself for making you cry
of course, if you are crying there might have been something he has done, maybe due to a fight, an argument, or something else
doesn't matter to him, even if his point of view seems logical and important he will still feel bad for making you cry
Yuta will handle this in a diplomatic way
you guys would talk through calmly
each one exposing feelings and ideas to find a middle ground
He will try his best to make you forget about this
he is the type to wipe your tears away
to hug you
to make jokes
because making you laugh somehow helps him feel less shitty about the whole thing
Doyoung
He would be surprised if you start crying because of something he said or has done
contrary to the other boys, Doyoung might use emotional and logical manipulation to get himself out of the problem
basically reviewing what went wrong and try to argue things in a way that might touch you
not to ridicule your feelings
but to put another perspective on what you are feeling so he seems less guilty
He is a perfect storyteller
and the way he always put something positive and bright into his arguments makes him see more plausible
so there's a chance that by the end of the convo, you don't even understand or remember why you started crying at the first place
He would try to use also contact and love to ease your feelings
Jaehyun
Despite being an ass in love he isn't an ass in the totality of it
meaning that if he makes you cry he will feel compassionate
he will stop whatever he did or said that hurt you
and he would give you time to calm down
Jaehyun hates conflicts and no matter if he truly loves you or not, he will be patient and calm about it
He will stay quiet and allow you to express your feelings
he might just look at you, nod his head and understand
although he might not say sorry
he will show empathy
He will try to find a common ground so you guys don't get into that situation again
he will also allow you to make your own choices concerning the relationship
Jungwoo
He would become very quiet at first when he sees you cry
the type to feel very guilty about things
but at the same time, he would try to over-analyze why what he did or said made you cry
of course, he would want to know from your version
but he still makes his own idea of why you reacted the way you did
He would make the quick decisions
to talk It through right now
so you guys won't stay stuck in this mood
He won't hold grudge against himself
but he will be very understanding
Jungwoo would apologize for his wrongdoings
and after that he will do whatever you want to do
cuddle? sure! Do you need time ? no problem will be of service
Mark
He would be on the defensive
seeing you cry will mix his ego up and that's not something he appreciated
so if you gus are arguing and you start crying he gets defensive
and impatient with your cries
asking you to stop doing so
that you are being dramatic
and that it's not his fault if you feel things that way, because that's not what he meant
Mark can be very persuasive as well
and the same way you use your feelings to communicate he will do the same
"oh you crying because of this ? well it's because you did this or that" type
it would be honestly better for you both to take time away from each other o cool down and talk later
because in the moment he will refuse your guidance
he won't listen to your point
because only his own matters
Haechan
He can be a total prick
and his capricious side would come out as well
seeing you cry won't make him emotional nor guilty
because what matter for this man is to win whatever argument you both are
even if he knows that he is wrong
his placements clearly show that he feeds of arguments
and crying won't stop him
so yeah things can get heated pretty quickly
and just like Mark I think it would be better for you guys to take some time out
to cool down
and mostly not talk to him until he changes his point of view, which can take some time
Haechan is way too complicated to deal with honestly

@ cupidshootstokill! pretty boy point guard huang guanheng is far from a hopeless romantic. or so he thinks until he's struck by cupid's arrow (literally and metaphorically) for the ace archer of NCIT : you. the only problem is that his newfound cupid seems to be shooting to kill.
Tumblr media
huang guanheng. ⤷ affectionately called the pretty, prince point guard of ncit basketball-- a nickname which has provoked him into a very much one-sided rivalry with the archery team's prince: kim doyoung (who has no idea who he is) ⤷ the most talented at free throws, a fact that he constantly holds over his other teammates heads (especially marks who is the most envious of them all) ⤷ constantly pushing for the team colors to change to pink and white rather than green and white, an endeavor that jaehyun constantly shuts down ⤷ wants to be able to look in yn's direction without feeling so dizzy that he might just pass out (it's a bit counterintuitive to his aspirations of wooing her)
Tumblr media
johnny suh. ⤷ center johnny is the it boy of the basketball team, though he doesn't have a fan club--he has no shortage of admirers ⤷ joined at the same team as mark and jaehyun and is often considered an unofficial third captain ⤷ seems to rarely do anything at practice, yet somehow still manages to be one of the best starters on the team ⤷ wants to bleach his hair blonde for what feels like the millionth time but he's fairly certain that if he does bleach it again, it might starting falling out in clumps
Tumblr media
nakamoto yuta. ⤷ mark's self-proclaimed biggest fan, you'll never not find yuta hanging all over the underclassmen whether thats in or out of practice ⤷ yuta has an uncanny ability to rack up six personal fouls and get himself disqualified in the blink of an eye--it's for this reason that he's often only put in towards the end of the game, to score as much as possible, as quick as possible before he's flagged and tossed out of the game ⤷ has a obsession with the archery team's xiao dejun, mainly because he loves to fluster the underclassman, something that's as easy done as it is said ⤷ tells any and everyone he's the captain of the team (he is not even close) ⤷ wants to explode ten with his mind ... that's it, really
Tumblr media
chittapon leechaiyapornkyul. ⤷ the swoon worthy small forward is perhaps the most popular member of the team (even superseding jaehyun) despite his inability to take the sport seriously ⤷ contrary to his go-lucky, nonchalant nature: he picks fights with yuta constantly, bickering like cats and dogs or ... really just cats (they actually are very close but you would never be able to tell from any outside perspective) ⤷ takes part in five different extracurriculars, how he has time for all of them with his busy schedule is a mystery to everyone ⤷ the most agile member, ten currently holds the highest consecutive number of points scored in a single game (begrudging correction: he's tied with yuta) ⤷ wants to endlessly torture hendery over his embarrassing crush on yn
Tumblr media
jeong jaehyun. ⤷ captain of the basketball team ⤷ has his own cheer squad which will often attend practices and games, if they're lucky, they'll sometimes receive a wink and a smile from the campus heartthrob (an action enough to make their hearts nearly beat out of their chest) ⤷ he's not quite sure how he became captain in the first place but it doesn't seem to be a position which he ever had the option to decline ⤷ wants to watch yuta and ten bicker, there's something so entertaining about their incessant arguing that jaehyun can't help but provoke it
Tumblr media
mark lee. ⤷ vice-captain of the basketball team ⤷ says he doesn't have a favorite but very clearly likes yuta more than anyone else on the team (though no one is really surprised) ⤷ got banned from watching the archery team practice when they share the gym after teasing renjun about being cute one too many times ⤷ wants to score a three pointed (and win the game) right when the buzzer sounds, man ... that would be so cool
Tumblr media
lee jeno. ⤷ was ultimately forced by chenle to join the team, contradictory to popular consensus--jeno's membership is utterly involuntary ⤷ the 'samoyed' joke begin quickly after he joined the team but has evolved into something much more authentic over time (in fact, sometimes he catches himself thinking that he really is a dog--mark does not help with that) ⤷ the homebody desperately wishes that practice was only two or three times a week rather than five ⤷ wants to figure out a way to skip practice without mark or jaehyun coming down on him or worse ... dragging him there
Tumblr media
liu yangyang. ⤷ joined the team because ten, hendery, and chenle did, yangyangs more there for fun than any actual commitment to the sport ⤷ despite the above fact, he's actually very good at basketball ... though he tends to get too amped up during games and hogs the ball ⤷ much to the chagrin of his teammates, yangyang seems to have endless energy--everyone always tries to avoid rooming with him during away games unless they want to be kept up all night with his chattering ⤷ he wants to change his jersey number from 22 to 00 and despite all statements that 00 simply isn't a number you can have, that doesn't seem to deter him
Tumblr media
zhong chenle. ⤷ the most talented member of the team, chenle's reputation as king of the court precedes him in every game and practice match ⤷ he often brings his dog, daegal, to practice which has a tendancy to cause an upheaval by whoever else is using the space ⤷ most wonder why chenle isn't team captain despite being the ace of the program but the basketball star simply doesn't want to hold the responsibility of his nuisance causing teammates--he'll leave that to mark and jaehyun ⤷ he wants to custom order a jersey for daegal and bring him to games (something that seems completely out of regulation)
Tumblr media
oh sion. ⤷ the newest member of the team, power forward sion has skyrocketed to jaehyun-esque popularity after his debut at a game earlier in the semester (people often say they look alike but sion doesn't see the similarity) ⤷ he mainly joined after seeing daegal but he loves basketball too! he swears! ⤷ likes jeno the most out of everyone on the team and often hangs out around him, even though the pair rarely talk ⤷ he wants yuta to stop getting kicked out of games so easily so he can have more than five minutes of rest on the bench between quarters
Tumblr media
@ ncit archery @ home @ prologue
taglist. @yangasm @trourevaille @ikozen @90s-belladonna @hyuka-bby thank for you for supporting cupid shoots to kill! ♡

Hear me out with this rarepair: Johnny/Winwin. They are such an interesting combo to me.
From Winwin's perspective, I think he finds Johnny reliable and considerate. He once said he wanted to room with Johnny because Johnny doesn't touch him (meaning Johnny respects his boundaries lol). I also find that most Johnwin moments are just Johnny conversing with Sicheng and trying to get him to open up and talk more about himself :3
As for Johnny, I think he is a pretty kind and considerate person, just that it gets overshadowed by him being funny. There was a rolling paper where Johnny said that he'd work on his Mandarin so that he could try to understand Sicheng better ❤ as one of the older neos I think he takes responsibility for getting to know the members and making sure they feel supported.
So basically I think Johnny's someone that Sicheng is very comfortable with because he's not very overbearing but still incredibly reliable :3
I don't have too many nsfw thoughts about them, I do think of them in a 3some with Jaehyun though XD It always comes back to Jaewin for me, but I feel like there's a good amount of trust between the three of them to make it a fun time
- Suwitru
OH WOW, SUWITRU, YOU'RE OPENING MY EYES WITH THIS ONE.
As a Johnny stan (idk about you but for me, I find that people's top 5 Neos tend to be their Big Bias Line lmao) I really love how you see him and that you look beyond his humor and see the softer guy underneath. And I agree completely that he feels some responsibility for helping everyone bond and getting to know his younger members better.
His ability to respect boundaries and his willingness to TRY are definitely two things Winwin would respect, and I also think, in a NSFW way, Johnny's confidence coupled with his physique are things that would get Winwin's attention right away.
I'M GONNA THINK MORE ABOUT JOHNWIN SO I CAN GIVE YOU SOME HEADCANONS SOON, OP!!

It’s speculation, but Doyoung really doesn’t possess youngest sibling qualities. As someone who’s the eldest of two I naturally gravitate to last born friends so I’m used to their behaviors more.
Like Taeyong is clearly the baby in his family and Johnny and Jaehyun are only children and all of this is obvious from an outsiders perspective. Even Haechan gives off eldest sibling energy, but Doyoung to me seems too driven, stubborn and critical of himself which are trates I hardly ever see in youngest siblings. More especially since he always seems to take on the role of a care taker or leader. If I didn’t know anything about him I’d think he has really young siblings at home. Well maybe it’s just a Korean thing I guess.
Anyways it’s all just thoughts, I wanted to know what you think?
Doyoung does possess younger sibling characteristics. For example, his competitiveness, his urge to be better than his brother. (He talks a lot about how his brother was super popular in the school, "he can't sing, I'm the singer in the family"). The way he is bratty. Maybe even the way he cajoles instead of demanding "by right". Do is not used to having a higher status, be listened to without resistance. He fails to use "I'm older" card with everyone but Jungwoo maybe.
The order of being born has influence, however, it is a statistical thing, one own's character plays a bigger role. Be wary of judging others following your own situation/example. Gongmyung was a soft and timid teen, Kim father sent him to a model school to teach him socialising. I think if GM were more strict, agressive, the brothers would have had a more classical older-younger brother relationship. Doyoung is a very hierarchy oriented person. He is ready to follow, but he is always looking for a way to climb the ladder and break the rules he doesn't approve of. If a person is weaker, less dominant than him, he instinctively takes control. The situation with Baekhyun still cracks me up (Baek is more dominant and a sunbae on top of that). GM, Yuta talk about feeling like Do is older than them.
If anything, the firstborn son carrying the family name and the role of taking care of the parents should have a bigger influence in a Korean family. As all children are pressured to get a nice paying job, succeed. The scores of students are openly compared in the school.
Up untill the last year of middle school Doyoung was a class rep. He took care of others and organised events. Remember the story about the chore competition in high school. Even without younger siblings he had experience of working with others before coming to SM. He invited his friends home, cooked for them.
Do also obvioulsy copied his mother a lot. Who is evidently the boss in the house. He once talked about his mother preparing for a marathon and running everyday for 2 hours for 2 months or so. He was very impressed, it taught him that effort is needed to achieve anything. His father takes a break in the middle of the dinner to go and pump iron, lol, he keeps to a strict exercise regime. And his mother seems to be a very Korean mom: finding a way to earn money with small business (vegies delivery in her van), making kimchi, taking her youngest for trips to helo him get over the ostricizing in school. History sidenote, the wife of the older son had the worst fate in old Korea. She entered the family of her husband and took care of him, his parents, his siblings, the wives of his brothers, basically was a slave to everyone. And there was the tradition of children eating after the parents, with the youngest kid standing last in line. Koreans had it tough, their mentality and workaholism are understandable.

Expecting
Pairing: NCT?
Series: NCT Additional Unit AU
Synopsis: The group finds out Jaehyun's girlfriend kept a really big secret.
Tumblr media
"Luna is pregnant,"
Furrowing her brows together, Sophia placed her hands on her hips. She looked around at all the different members, shaking her head.
"Anyone else have pregnant girlfriends?" Sophia asked, "Anymore pregnancies or babies we should know about?"
It was silent.
Sophia looked at Lucas, "Is Amy pregnant?"
"No!" He looked at Sophia in disbelief.
"What about Hyejin?" Sophia asked as he looked at Mark.
The younger male stared at her like she was crazy, "No! You know she's on birth control,"
Sighing in relief, Sophia shook her head and sat down on the chair next to Johnny and Doyoung. Sunmi was the next to talk, calming down the group.
"This is not a bad thing, this..," Sunmi swallowed thickly, "You and Luna broke up almost six months ago, you can't be sure it's your baby and-"
"She's seven months along," Jaehyun stated.
Silence fell again, no one moving or saying anything. Jaehyun only crossed his arms. He looked tired, bags under his eyes and hair not brushed.
"Does anybody else find it funny that you three are all expecting a baby at the same time?" Jaemin asked, pointing to Johnny, Jaehyun and Sophia.
"It is a little bit funny," Jinmi mumbled.
"Mine was planned!" Sophia suddenly burst into tears, sobbing.
Taeyong softly rubbed her shoulders from behind, Sophia slowly wiping her tears away and taking in a deep breath.
"You good?" Johnny asked.
"She cried earlier because the microwave beeps when you press the buttons," Taeyong explained, "Let her have her moment,"
Sunmi was sat next to Jaehyun, softly touching his shoulder, "Look, what's the next course of action in this? And I don't mean in a public perspective, I mean for you and Luna and this child,"
"I want to be in their life, I do love Luna," Jaehyun explained, "I think this time is going to be for me reconnecting with her for our daughter,"
"It's a girl?" Jinmi asked, "That's cute..,"
Jaehyun finally smiled, "I was thinking the name 'Jisoo',"

tw: smut, toxic relationship.
〔 𝟏𝟎:𝟒𝟗𝐩𝐦 〕 jaehyun’s teeth are sharp — nearly fang-like — and the only reason why you know this better than anyone else is because the proof is carved in countless places all over your body.
places that aren’t typically allowed the privilege of seeing the light of day.
it didn't bother you in the beginning. honestly, you couldn’t care less about a couple marks that no one was going to see anyway. they didn’t hurt that much, either; jaehyun always cared for your wounds with such consideration, it almost made you forget how you got them in the first place.
it’s only when he began breaking skin that you started growing anxious. the first time it happened, he claimed that it was just an accident. same for the second, third, and fourth times. but somewhere afterwards, the wholehearted apologies started turning into unfounded accusations — accusations that somehow always managed to paint you into a traitor.
you couldn’t understand how he was coming up with these ideas. one time, he’d gone on about how he’d caught you staring at johnny. but the more you thought about it, the more certain you were that you hadn’t even seen him that day. well, you might’ve passed him in the hallway to your class, but there was no way you saw him for long enough to have gotten the opportunity to stare at him, especially not in the way jaehyun was insinuating you did. no matter what had actually happened or what your side of the story was, there was no convincing jaehyun of anything other than the self-written narrative that’s been engraved in his mind.
he never hesitated to hide his suspicions, and it isn’t any different today. for some reason, he’d found too much meaning in the way you thanked your neighbor for holding the elevator door on your way up to jaehyun’s apartment. it takes less than a minute before he has you pressed up against the wall, his teeth digging the promise of a bruise into your neck as his hands start to wander down, down, down.
he leaves you no chance to gasp for air before stroking two thin, searching fingers into your body. you can feel him tense up against you when you yelp, but the two of you know that you can handle more than a little pain, so it doesn’t take long before he starts pushing himself into you.
“how many times am i going to have to mark you before you understand that you’re mine and mine alone, y/n?” you hear him growl as he sinks the edges of his teeth into your shoulder. the static shock of pleasure sizzling under your skin leaves you trembling in his arms, and you let out a sound so raw, you’re almost unable to recognize it as it slips past your lips.
he does everything he can to engrave his ownership into your existence, whether it’s through the indentions bitten from your shoulder all the way down to your thighs, or the dark fingerprints imprinted around your neck and hips, or the hot threads of cum spilled inside of you.
he wastes no time in cleaning you up ㅡ he presses an ironically delicate kiss against your cheek before taking a handful of tissues and gingerly wiping you down. you offer to do it yourself, but he refuses to let you move, glancing at you almost apologetically before continuing to pat you dry.
any outside perspective would unsurprisingly find your dynamic toxic, but you don’t mind. you don’t mind that he gets a little too controlling at times; you know that you wouldn’t want to have him any other way. but, you can’t help yourself from wondering...
how many times is he going to mark you before he realizes that you’ll gladly stay his and his alone?

part 2 of no-humanity vampire jaehyun?? 💌
Part One
***
Two months.
It's been exactly two months since that fateful night at the apartment, and you haven't stopped looking for Jaehyun since. Luckily, you've just managed to catch his and Eunwoo's trail, leading you to where you are right now.
Taking a deep breath to steady your nerves, you look upon the bar before you.
"Ready?" Both Jungwoo and Johnny have come with you as back up, and for your protection. Having the two vampires with you does make you feel a bit better, and besides, they want their brother back.
You nod.
The sight that greets you is not one you would have ever expected, and you nearly freeze in your tracks, were it not for Johnny pulling you over to the opposite side of the room. Even now, as you throw a glance over your shoulder, you can still see Jaehyun drinking his fill from another human's neck, the blood dripping down his chin as he pulls away in time for them to slump to the floor, unconscious.
You don't even need to see the man that cheers with him to know it's Eunwoo.
"Maybe you shouldn't have come," Jungwoo grimaces, watching the way Jaehyun starts flirting with some people at the bar while downing some shots.
"He's right, Love," suddenly, Eunwoo appears before the three of you. "Any hope you had of bringing him back is in vain."
"Not if you compel him back," you huff, taking a step forward despite your heartbeat ringing in your ears. "You made him like this, so you can bring him back."
Eunwoo takes a moment to ponder your words, "now why would I want to do that? We're having so much fun with the way he is now."
"We?" Johnny's brow furrows.
"That's right," Eunwoo hums, turning his attention to where Jaehyun now resides, making out with a girl against the back corner of the bar. "We."
You'd recognize that girl anywhere, especially when she directs such a smug look your way as Jaehyun litters bite marks all over the skin of her neck.
"I didn't realize you had woken your sister again," Jungwoo comments, whole body tense as he watches the scene before him.
"It would have been a sin to let her miss him," Eunwoo shrugs, smirk pulling at his features as he watches Irene switch her and Jaehyun's position so that now she's pinning him against the wall. With nothing but smugness on his features, Eunwoo turns back to you. "If you were hoping to talk to him, don't bother. As you can see, he's doing far better without you. He doesn't need you."
In a flash, Eunwoo disappears, your lips tightening into a thin line as you attempt to control your tears. You promised yourself no more crying, but seeing the state of things and having them shred any last bit of hope you had really put things into perspective for you.
"You're right," your voice is low as you briefly look towards Jungwoo, "maybe I shouldn't have come."
Without another word, you make your way back towards the exit with both males following close behind, worry clear on both of their features. Yes, they want to get their brother back, but right now, you are more important.
Throwing one final look over your shoulder as you reach the door, you nearly break down right then and there as you meet Jaehyun's stare, his eyes seemingly already transfixed on you.

Tumblr media
It all started that day at the library.
You were the librarian’s assistant for extra credit, you saw it as a more viable way to waste time instead of wasting away at your apartment. Home was far away and you were bored of rereading the same books on your bookshelves. Itching for paper etched with thousands of words, you offered to work at the school library. At first, you were doing it for free in your spare time just so you could get access to a wide-range of books with minimal cost and effort. Until the librarian offered that she’d take you in as an assistant for additional credit.
On Fridays, you worked overtime just so the old lady could get off earlier and get some rest. Besides, you still had the weekend to catch up with your school work and you’d rather be anywhere than at those Friday night parties everyone was going to.
Like most Fridays, the library was empty save for the few introverted regulars who you’ve begun to recognize through the weeks you’ve been here. They usually left right around closing so you had some sort of human company until you began closing up.
At 10 minutes to 10pm, you finished returning the last of the books that the students left behind on the tables. Then you made your way to the furthest ends of the library where the wall with the enormous windows were.
When you were younger, you always marvelled at how people managed to close them. You thought it required superhuman strength. Now that you were doing the job, the deed lost it’s magic. Your fingers found the ropes that were hooked unto the window’s handles and gave it a quick tug. The massive windows weren’t as heavy as you initially expected them to be. They looked like they weighed a ton, but they closed without much effort. The only challenge was getting both flaps to close together without one overlapping the other. You’ve mastered that now.
Once you’ve closed all 3 windows at the back, you rounded the hall one last time, checking if there were any other things you missed. By the time you finished checking every aisle, it was a little past 10. You sighed in relief as you made your way back to the front of the building to time out and lock up.
But you saw someone standing by the librarian’s desk. On instinct, you blinked twice, thinking it was just your mind playing tricks on you again. But the figure didn’t disappear.
The person was still hunched over the desk, flipping pages on the registry and just tinkering with about anything they could get their hands on.
“Hi, excuse me,” you called out from across the room, “we’re already closed. I’m gonna have to ask you to leave.”
You’ve grown accustomed to saying the line to procrastinators who arrived at closing time, thinking that the library was open 24/7. They’d mutter curses and rush off elsewhere. You’d feel bad sometimes, knowing the feeling of having nowhere else to go during such a crisis. You always tried guessing what they were here for, which exams they needed to study for and what not. You usually made small talk with them, figuring out what they were procrastinating with and leaving a suggestion as to where they could go besides the campus library.
Tonight, your visitor came empty-handed but his hand wasn’t exactly empty at all. Your words fall short on your lips as you walked closer, finally getting a better glimpse of the tattoo on the back of his hand. Neos, you thought and you stagger backwards at the sight of their symbol.
“But,” you dragged the word on as you checked the time on your wristwatch, “I think I have time to spare tonight.” Actually, you couldn’t wait to get home but if spending at least another hour in the library meant you’ll live to see another year after this year’s Purge, you’d take it. “I can wait for you to finish what you’re doing and I’ll lock up after you leave.”
You tried your best not to make your voice sound shaky even when you were terrified beyond belief. You let out a shaky breath before you turned the other way, finding something to distract yourself with until the boy was done with his business.
“_____?”
You froze.
It wasn’t the first time you’ve crossed paths with the Neos, but it was definitely the first time one of them spoke to you directly. Having a few of them in your classes, you ran into them quite a lot. Thankfully, you’ve been lucky enough not to be paired or grouped with them during class activities. Like a pack of wolves, they often grouped together regardless of what the professor said—as if those poor adults had a say in anything anymore after the Faculty Wipe Out three Purges ago.
Despite being in close proximity to them sometimes, you’ve remained invisible in their eyes for the majority of your stay in the university. Freshmen were taught to avoid getting on their bad side during orientations. The group was notorious for numerous gang-related activities both within the university and all over the city. Above all the things they’ve achieved, the highest honor was being labelled the so-called Purge Kings—boasting the highest kill count average back-to-back for every year for the past six years. Bottomline, anyone who dared to oppose them didn’t make it past the 21st of March. They all died trying.
You figured that the best way to never be on their bad side was by not being in their radar entirely. It wasn’t much of a tedious task for you. Besides the classroom, you were almost never in the same breathing space as they were. For the past 3 years it worked flawlessly. Or at least you assumed.
You hoped you hadn’t taken too long to answer. You turned on your heel, answering in the same cheerful tone you used when entertaining anyone who came and went. “Yes?”
Lee Jeno shut the register logbook before finding the nearest table. “I need to talk to you,” he said as he pulled a wooden chair back so he could take a seat.
“Right now?” You blurt the question out loud before you could think twice.
His eyes landed on yours when he looked up. You expected to see an unreadable expression on his face, like what he usually wore whenever he was with the Neos. But all you saw were knitted eyebrows and a boy struggling not to laugh at you.
For a split-second, he looked harmless with his eyes disappearing into concaves as he analyzed the way you stared back at him. Without the other boys around, he looked like any other university student you might find around. Gone with his smile was every rumor you heard about the Neos being nothing but emotionless psychopaths. They were never proven to be true anyway—or no one ever lived long enough to testify. You never had any firsthand experience with how ruthless they could be and the Neo before you didn’t seem too bad at all, unlike what the stories said.
Jeno straightened his stance to reach the chair adjacent to his, pushing it back before gesturing for you to sit on it. You took it, feeling yourself ease a little the more time you spent in the same space.
“I get why you’re scared to talk with me,” he whispered before he pursed his lips, probably thinking of the same thing you were thinking, “especially with the timing.”
He was right. Part of the reason why you didn’t seem to be all welcoming with him was the convenience of the date. A member of the Neos appearing out of nowhere, a week before the Purge, just seemed too impossible to be a mere coincidence.
“Here’s some reassurance that I’m not here to harm you.” Jeno balled his tattooed hand into a fist and rested it on the wooden table. Up close, the tattoo only made your skin crawl even more. The spider only had six legs, three on either side of its body, and on its back were two zeros inked in red.
The first time you saw the spider sigil was outside the campus’ main gates three years ago when nearly half of the university’s staff was reported missing the morning after the Purge. You remembered getting too close to the spray painting of the spider just to count exactly how many legs it had (12, you recalled, 6 on either side) and immediately feeling queasy because of the strong scent of paint thinner. It took a lot of it to remove such an enormous spider with four too many legs.
The Neos shared the spider tattoo as a symbol of their brotherhood. The number of spider’s legs varied across subsections within the organization. You’ve seen the same tattoo Jeno had imprinted on at least two other hands. Compared to theirs, Jeno’s was a lot darker. Not because a different ink was used, but because the skin where the tattoo was badly burnt.
“You came here to show me your tattoo?”  Again, you wanted to slap yourself for letting such a comment slip off your mouth. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound  sarcastic. It was a genuine question,” you mumbled.
Jeno shook his head, “It’s fine, I get it. And you don’t have much reason to be scared of me anymore. I quit the group after last year’s Purge.”
Your eyes catch the burned tattoo again. If the intention of burning it was removal, it wasn’t very effective. If anything, the charred skin looked more prominent now than it was before.
Noticing how your attention was fully fixated on the tattoo now, Jeno pulled his hand off the table. “But that’s not what I came here for.”
Of course your hunch was right. There was no way a Neo—ex-Neo, anyway—took the time to come all the way here for nothing.
“I don’t know how but your name,” Jeno uttered cautiously with his eyes keeping watch of the surroundings as he spoke, “it’s on the list this year.”
“What list?”
“The Neos’ Kill List.”
Your heart dropped to your stomach, feeling the room grow colder as your mind slowly registered what he just said. “But why?”
“That’s the thing. Everyone else on the list deserved to be there one way or another. Previous fights, members of other gangs. I knew everyone else on the list and I came across them at least once, all except you. Until I heard your name called in class during the few times I attended anyway.”
Everything he said didn’t answer your question so you let it enter one ear and out the other. You finally turned to him, “Why are you telling me this? It’s like putting a bounty on your own head.”
A pained expression crosses his face for a moment as if your words implied that someone like him was incapable of feeling any emotions. But then again, that was what the Neos were always known for. “Innocent people should be left out of it.”
You stared back at him in disbelief, as if the words that left his lips were too unrealistic to hear firsthand.
“I’ll go ahead. This conversation never happened but I warned you. At least, I tried to.” Jeno pushed the seat back into the table after he stood up and stepped away. “Stay safe on Purge Night,” he said.
“Stay safe on Purge Night,” you replied, staring dumbfounded at empty space.
The sound of his footsteps faded as he walked further and further away. In the dead of the night, you were once again enveloped in silence but the thoughts in your head were at their loudest.
Tumblr media
You had no one else to blame but your stubborn, cynic self.
Since that night at the library, you had more than a week’s time to formulate some form of escape plan from certain death. Yet you didn’t do anything, thinking Jeno’s appearance was just some elaborate prank the Neos were pulling to make you look stupid for their entertainment. Shrugging his warning off, you went on with your week like nothing had changed.
It wasn’t until after around 4AM on March 22nd that you understood the gravity of your situation when the realization finally dawns on you that ignoring the warnings might as well equate with being suicidal. If staying alive was your top priority, disregarding the warning from a Neo himself might’ve been the worst mistake you’ve made so far. Not everyone on the Kill List was blessed with any form of heads up on their impending doom. Or maybe they were, but like you, they chose not to take it seriously until the Neos were right outside their doorsteps.
You awoke to the sound of your phone ringing on your side table. Initially, you thought the sound had been your alarm which confused you when you woke up with not a single ray of sunlight seeped in through your curtains yet. Thinking you only set the alarm a bit too early, you reached for your phone. But there were no buttons on the screen to snooze it. Instead there was an unknown number and the buttons for answering and declining the call. You didn’t think twice about declining it.
But the call comes again, and again, and again. Same number over and over, as if the person on the other end redialled as soon as you declined the call.
A few failed attempts later, you finally gave in and you swipe the green button before pressing the phone against your ear.
“This better be urgent,” you uttered with a hoarse voice.
You only remembered the date when you heard the exchange of gunfire in the background of the person on the other end of the line. Purge Night, you thought. Your plans to sleep right through it were disrupted once again.
“It’s Jeno. They’re out to get you. Hide. Now.”
“What?” Jeno could hear the confusion in your tone which made him groan at the other end of the line. “Who’s,” you trailed off before reforming your statement. “What do you mean hide?”
Jeno was exasperated. “Hide. Just fucking hide. Anywhere, just so it’ll take them longer to find you. They have the entire block around your apartment building surrounded. But I’m close too, here’s to hoping that I’ll arrive before them.”
You were about to speak into the phone but the line was already dead. You redial twice and on both times, it goes straight to voicemail. You leap off your bed and peak through the curtains. Truly enough a van with the spider sigil was outside.
Your mind spins into panic when you hear someone banging on your front door. You had less time than you thought. You look around, searching for any type of hiding place. You find the nearest cabinet and slip inside. You weren’t fond of the dark but staying in a dark enclosed space rather than being in the bare open with the possibility of a maniac killer bursting into the room any second was worse than staying in the dark.
You try to level your breathing when you hear the banging grow louder. They continued to try the door knob but to no avail. Your fingers unconsciously dial Jeno again. Still no answer. You hear a gun fire once, then twice, then you hear the door bang against the wall as if someone had kicked it open, then the sound of heavy footfalls.
Then you hear your name being called. But it’s muffled by the ringing sound in your ear. You didn’t want to die yet. You weren’t ready to die yet.
They found your room easily, of course. It wasn’t like you had the biggest apartment. There were only two other rooms the intruders could have ventured into; the kitchen and then the bathroom. The last door led to your bedroom. They tried the doorknob several times before they resorted to the same strategy they did with the other door that got in the way.
Inside the closet you willed yourself to be as silent as possible. You hadn’t noticed you started holding your breath until you started feeling suffocated inside the close space. You willed your body no to move, any minor adjustment could make the wood around you creak and draw the intruder’s attention to your closet when there were still other places to search. You hear the footsteps draw closer, passing right by the closet.
Then your phone rings.
The closet doors are drawn open and you find yourself staring at a man who had his face covered in a white kabuki mask.
“Found you!” The boy said. “Don’t need this anymore,” he said, snagging your phone away from your hands before throwing it aside.
The boy reached out his hand to grab yours but you slap it away on instinct. Your hand grazes his mask and it falls off his face. He moves back and his face comes into light. The Japanese transfer student, you thought as you recalled registering him up on the librarian’s records. Shotaro was barely two semesters in yet he already carried the tattoo of the spider on his neck, earning more respect than those who stayed in the university longer. Might’ve been his first Purge in this city but with the way he yanked you out of the closet with ease told you it wasn’t his first time taking anyone hostage.
Your body slams on to the cold floor. The boy doesn’t waste any time in pinning you down. He kept his leg on your back, pressing you down on the floor to render you immobile. You squirm beneath him but to no avail.
“Somebody told you we were coming, huh? Is that why you were hiding?”
Jeno’s voice echoes in your head telling you that the conversation with him never happened. He risked his life enough just to warn you about your name being on the list. You didn’t answer him, instead you just shook your head.
“Or were you trying to escape out your window?” he said, gesturing at the open window.
You blinked, feeling a gust of wind sweep the room. The wind from this high up was always chilly, which was why you never left your window open.
Why was it open?
The answer comes in the form of a masked figure that moved faster than Shotaro could calculate. In the figure’s hand was a thick book, probably one they picked off your shelf. Without thinking twice, they slammed it onto the back of the other boy’s head. For a moment, Shotaro was stunned and when he prioritized his balance over keeping you pinned down, you took the opportunity and escape. You pushed yourself up and rolled away from him.
Shotaro was about to grab hold of your leg when he seized, pausing mid-act as the other person pressed the barrel of their gun against the back of the former’s head.
“Don’t even try it,” you heard the voice uttered. Jeno, you recognized. You watched as he pressed the metal harder whenever Shotaro moved so much an inch. He then turned to you, “Out the window, now.”
You moved mindlessly, following his order without putting much thought into it. Struggling to comprehend everything, you found it hard to believe that it hasn’t even been ten minutes since you got up.
You were halfway out the window when Shotaro attempted to swipe the gun out of Jeno’s hand. But the latter’s grip wasn’t weak—he never let go of his weapon even as he was striked on reflexes that should’ve made him loosen his grip even for a bit. A shot was fired, barely missing you but you managed to make it out the window unscathed.
Jeno slammed the grip of the gun against Shotaro’s head, sending the younger boy into a daze again—this time long enough for Jeno to make a getaway. The bedroom door slams open as 2 other Neos came in after hearing the gunshot. Jeno fired another shot, barely missing the hand of the Neo who held the door open. They took the warning and stood down, lowering their own guns as Jeno backed away towards the window. He glared at them one last time before he ducked down the pane to meet you outside.
For a moment, he was worried that another Neo got to you before he did. But he saw you sitting a few steps down, hand clutching the railing and staying out of the street’s view as much as you could.
He trotted down, offering a hand when he reached you, “Come on.” It doesn’t take long for him to realize that you still haven’t recovered from the shock, but he didn’t have the time to wait around for you to come to your senses. He made the move to grab your hand, instantly capturing your attention. Your blank eyes slowly found their way to his.
“I’ll keep you safe from them, I promise,” Jeno uttered. “Without me, you’re defenseless. At least when I’m around, you have a fighting chance. Now, let’s go.”
Keeping both your heads ducked down, you sped down the emergency ladder. Thankfully, the Neos haven’t followed you out yet—maybe out of pity, you thought, but you were just grateful you didn’t have armed men raining bullets on you as you ran.
Even in the darkness of the shadow of your apartment complex, your eyes could see him clearly. Somewhere along the way, he managed to get rid of the black cloth mask he had draped over his head to conceal his identity. His hair was a mess but he paid no attention to it. But you did. That was when you noticed the tattoo on the back of his neck. A snake head, you thought, and the rest disappeared beneath his sweater—probably in line with his spine.
Jeno hadn’t let go of your hand yet. He kept his attention forward, dragging you down the steps with no regard whether you slipped or fell. Maybe his coming to your rescue was nothing but an act of pity as well. Now, you just felt more pathetic.
You owned the room closest to the corner of the building. Your window had a built-in emergency exit staircase that led down into an alley by the side of the apartment complex. Completely obscured from the view from the front but only if you were careful. It doesn’t take long for the both of you to reach the end of the staircase.
Jeno kicks down the ladder to the first floor until the final rung touches the cemented pathway below. He turned, probably to check if you were being followed, then his eyes met yours again.
“After you,” he said, gesturing at the ladder.
You looked over the edge, swallowing the lump in your throat as you saw just how far the ground was. Your palms began to sweat and you wondered how much it would hurt if your grip slipped and you fell head first.
“I know it’s still a bit high up but don’t get ahead of yourself,” Jeno said as if he read exactly what you were thinking. “You can do it. Just one step after the other.”
You took one deep breath in before you began your climb down. It wasn’t as bad as you initially thought, so long as you never looked at the ground too long. Soon enough, you reached the bottom just as you heard another gunshot ring through the air.
You automatically glanced up. The stairs rattled and shook as a group of men started running down. You couldn’t make out what they were saying, but they were shouting at one another and pointing at the ground—pointing at you. You hide behind the ladder just in time before another gunshot barely misses you. Thankfully, where you stood was a blindspot. Unless they climbed down the ladder, then you were screwed.
Jeno gripped both poles of the ladder with gloved hands, sliding down the ladder the way you’ve seen firemen do in the movies. In a second, he was standing next to you and sending the ladder back up. At the very least, it would stall those who were chasing after you.
You watched as the ladder rattled on its way up, creating a loud bang as it clashed with the metal plate of the ramp. Jeno grabbed hold of your hand again and you were running, this time to the back of the apartment complex where the parking lot was.
“There,” Jeno pointed at a black Hyundai Accent, parked conveniently at the middle of the lot and one turn away from the exit.
You dash for the car, hopping into the passenger seat as Jeno slipped into the driver’s seat. He started the car up with the flick of his wrist and turned a few knobs to light up the driveway. At the end of the lot stood five masked men—one with the Kabuki mask that you recognized.
Jeno clicked his tongue and frowned. But it didn’t stop him from flooring it. The car jolted forward, speeding in the direction where the men stood.
“Jeno,” you croaked, grabbing hold onto one of the handles on the car ceiling.
He wasn’t startled one bit, switching gears and going faster. One of the boys aimed a gun straight at you, shooting as you got closer and closer. You flinched every time he fired the gun, but the bullets ricocheted off the car’s hood every time as if he was purposely missing the windshield.
Jeno barely misses them when he passes by, making the turn towards the parking lot exit. The boys jump out of the car’s path at the last second before tumbling onto the cemented ground. A smirk tugged at the corner of Jeno’s mouth as he watched them through the side mirror. Then he drove into the highway away from them. Out of sight, out of mind.
The streets were almost empty tonight and unlike most nights downtown most, if not all, shops were closed. You barely saw an establishment that didn’t have thick garage doors down. As if the metal doors were enough to waver anyone determined enough to loot them.
“Where are we going?” you asked as he drove further and further away from your apartment building and into the supposedly busier—now, dead—part of the city.
Jeno kept his eyes on the road when he answered, “My place. I need to pick up a few things and we’re moving again.”
A veil of silence fell over the both of you. It made you hesitate but you could only stay silent for so long with the thoughts racing through your head. “Those masked men,” you began, “who were they?”
“0-0-6-0-0,” Jeno replied.
You turned to Jeno, “Six hundred?”
“No,” he said as he shook his head. He peeled the glove off of his right hand. “You see this? They’re our age and since we were admitted into the Neos at the same time, we decided to make 00600 our unit name. 00 for the birth year, 6 because there’s 6 of us.”
You nod as you let the information sink in. “No wonder they didn’t shoot you back in the apartment.”
“I doubt they even recognized me back there. But they sure did at the parking lot.”
“You mentioned units,” you continued, only this time you were no longer facing Jeno. Instead, you were staring outside, watching the sidewalk blur past you. “How many are there?”
“3 as far as I know,” he answered. “We’re lucky tonight.” he said.
“Your definition of lucky appalls me.”
Jeno chuckled, “Relatively lucky. If the OGs got there first, I doubt we’d make it out of the building alive.”
You arched your eyebrow in confusion, “OGs?”
“The original 9 members of the Neos.” He went on to elaborate how the group was formed back in 2016. The Neos were merely a group of men who wanted to purge for the night with one single objective and a mastermind who planned everything out. “Taeyong was selective in picking the people he wanted to recruit in his killing team but he included seniors down to freshmen. He was a junior at the time but damn, did he have a long kill list. That year, they unintentionally scored the highest kill count in the city and were labelled the Kings of the Purge in Seoul. Guess they have no plans of giving that title away now.”
Jeno explained how the spider symbol once represented the original 8 members—one leg for each one—and one head for the mastermind. “But Taeyong wanted to do something grand after he left the university. He couldn’t do it with only 9 people so he went and recruited sophomores and freshmen..”
“That something grand was the Faculty Wipe Out three years ago, wasn’t it?” you asked and Jeno nodded. “So when did you come in?”
“The year after the Faculty Wipe Out. As the years passed, it was getting harder and harder to remain on top of the Purge list. Taeyong thought a bunch of fearless millennium babies who weren’t scared of anything would make a good addition to the team.” Of course, the older boy was right. Jeno went on to tell you the ruthlessness of the 00s that you’re surprised they purposely left you both of earlier.
Jeno then continued, “During the Purge, we’re tasked to kill anyone on sight. But that starts to get boring when you’re halfway through the night when no one’s usually out anymore, especially when the Neos are roving around. So they decided to make the Kill List—a list of specific targets for the night we’re supposed to kill. It’s usually those who already made enemies with us,” he backtracks to correct himself, “them, or people who’re difficult to coax out for the challenge.”
You remained silent as you remembered the reason why you were riding beside him in the first place. “So, it’s for the Neo’s entertainment alone,” you trailed off.
“Basically. As far as I know the three groups are the 00s, the one’s recruited during the Faculty Wipe Out and OGs behind us,” he said, glimpsing up at the rearview mirror before shifting to the highest gear.
Now, you understood why Jeno was driving so fast on an empty highway. The roar of revved motor engines echoed in the night as the enormous bikes sped up—catching up to you at an alarming rate. The car has reached its limit, but the bikes still managed to pass you by with ease. Beside you, Jeno spat a curse.
At a distance, you see the bikers parking their motorcycles directly on the path of the car. Their riders leaned idly against their rides, armed with guns that were raised and pointed straight at the car windshield. Your breath hitches on your throat at the sight.
Jeno takes his foot off the accelerator and slams it on to the brake. The car wheels hissed beneath you as the car staggered to a halt a few feet away from the men blocking the way. The glass that separated you and those outside wasn’t tinted. You thought the amused grins on the faces of the men outside was because of the fear in your expressions, but you see them gesture toward Jeno before they share a laugh. The boy beside you looked away.
“What now?” you asked.
Behind you an armored vehicle rolls into view, parking meters away from the Accent you were in. You could make out a masked man walking to the front of the car. His mask was illuminated by neon lights forming two Xs over his eyes and a sewn in smile where his mouth should’ve been. He pressed a phone against his ear.
The built-in screen of the car radio lights up, illuminating both your faces. An unknown number shows up on the screen. Jeno swiped right to receive it.
“Lee Jeno!” the voice said. You would’ve mistaken it as a warm welcome if you didn’t know the circumstances behind it. “How has the Purge been for you?”
“Fine,” Jeno answered coldly. “I would like it better if you and your crew left us alone for the rest of the night, though.”
You rolled your eyes, as if the Neos ever spared sympathy for anyone. It was as long shot, but you applauded Jeno for trying.
A laugh rumbled through the car speakers but it was only met with silence. “But you do know you hold our tie-breaker captive.”
Jeno’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, “Find a way to win the game with only the 18 others on the list. Isn’t that more than enough?”
“You know how competitive each unit gets when it’s Purge night. You don’t think we haven’t come to a draw yet?”
“Stop bluffing. The others on the list are still alive.”
Taeyong hummed on the other side of the line. “You still have your sources.” He paused, as if a thought came to mind but he doesn’t elaborate it further. “It’s a neck-on-neck fight and I know it will all come down to that person in the passenger seat.”
You quivered, trying to keep a straight face as you hear the foreshadowing of your own fate at the end of the night.
“But since we have other things to do tonight, we’ll let you off. Losing the Kill List game is the least of my worries.” You both exhale in relief and realize you’ve been holding your breaths as you had your fates decided.
Taeyong gestured at the two riders and they began to clear the way for the car to pass through. Then he spoke into his phone speaker again.
“And Jeno, before I go,” he uttered in a low tone, “my offer still stands if you ever change your mind.”
Jeno taps the red end call button before he floors it again, racing down the highway without looking back.

You manage to make it to his house before the car starts rumbling before eventually stopping before Jeno has the chance to turn it off. The battery was still running but the car didn’t respond to the pedals anymore. Jeno tried the key again, the engine revved for a moment but it didn't start. The glass behind his steering wheel was illuminated by a blinking sign—signalling that the tank was empty.
Jeno pulled out the car keys before turning to you. “Get off, we can’t use this anymore.”
You followed, hopping out of the car before shutting the car door behind you. The cold air nips at your skin and you shiver. The sky was no longer inky black in color. It was a dark tint of violet but it
Jeno appears next to you, noticing the way you kept your arms close so you could warm yourself up. “Let’s go. I’ll get you some clothes inside. You look ridiculous running around with your pajamas.”
You followed him as he walked around the car and up to their front porch. Jeno’s place sat right by the edge of the city in a subdivision which stood in strong contrast against the tall glass-paned skyscrapers of the downtown area. At the end of the road was a bridge that crossed the Han river and on the other side were more skyscrapers. Overhead, the sky was no longer the midnight black it was an hour ago. Somehow you could tell that the sun was already rising somewhere.
Jeno walks up to the front door, unlocks it and slips inside. He rushes through the living room and disappears behind a wooden door. When he came back he threw a sweater in your direction, relying on your reflexes to catch it.
“Can’t we just wait out the next hour here?” you asked as you draped the sweater over your head. Judging from the way the sky was lit up now, it might’ve been nearly 6AM.
Jeno was rummaging through the cabinets as he spoke, “What makes you think they aren’t here yet?”
Before you manage to answer a fire blazes outside, lighting up the street where you both passed. A loud boom similar to a bomb’s echoes outside, blasting pressure strong enough that it shatters the front window. The car burst into flames. Thankfully, you were still standing by the door and the pressure was barely felt where you stood.
Jeno stood stunned but in a moment he was already grabbing your hand as what seemed to be a can of spray paint rolled on to the floor.
“Flash bang!” he shouted, grabbing hold of your hand and tugging you to the room he disappeared into. The bomb detonates, lighting up the living room behind you and emitting an ear-deafening noise that sends you out of balance. Your ears began to ring and you struggle to get on your feet again.
Jeno recovered before you, wincing at the sound before dragging you up. “Come on, come on.”
Even through the ringing, you could hear the sound of the front door being kicked open followed by the sound of heavy footsteps on the floor outside. Jeno dashed for the window, sliding the pane upward before slipping out. For the second time that night, you exit out the window and roll onto the garden of their house where grass cushioned your fall.
Your head spun as you dashed across the neighborhood. It wouldn’t take long before your pursuants would discover that the both of you were no longer in the house they were searching. You tried your best to run faster.
“I feel dizzy,” you uttered when you couldn’t take it anymore.
Your hand slips off Jeno’s as you slowed down. You were hunched over with your hands on your knees as you tried to catch your breath. Running breathless with spinning vision didn’t necessarily help your chances of survival. But neither did slowing down.
Jeno took your hand in his, “No, no, no. We have to go, we’re going to die here.” When you didn’t look up, he leaned down to meet your eye, “_____, stay with me.”
“We can’t run for the next hour,” you said, shaking your hand off his grip as you sat down on the wet pavement. Your pajamas were soaked but you couldn’t care less anymore. “Just leave me to die.”
Jeno looked at the horizon where the sun was slowly rising, “One last hour and you won’t have to worry about this again.”
You scoffed, “You think they’ll let me live to tell the tale?”
“If you die now, you’ll never know.” Maybe you didn’t want to know. But you didn’t want to die this way either. You were on the brink of giving up but you couldn’t let all of Jeno’s efforts come to waste now when there was one hour left.
You took his hand again.
“Come on. I have a plan.”

Parc1 Tower was a 72-storey building sitting on the other end of the Mapo bridge and it was a mile away. Without a car and with the city’s most infamous killers chasing you, something so close seemed to be too far. But the tower was your last shot at outrunning the Neos, at least until the Purge was over. You were running down the bridge at top speed with your thighs burning and feet aching.
It was a relief when you finally barged in through the double doors of the tower.
“Get in,” Jeno said, gesturing for the elevator. You climbed on as quick as you can as he fired bullets at the other elevator’s control panel.
“They’re here!” you blurted out as you saw the Neo’s closing in. Jeno stumbled to your side just in time, shutting the elevator doors right as the Neos walked in.
You slumped down onto the elevator floor, exhausted. The ride up was silent, save for the elevator music and the sound of the both of you catching your own breaths. A million thoughts race through your head as you struggled to process the events of the last four hours. You didn’t notice that your arms were stained with blood until you took a good look at it now. You weren’t even sure if it was your own, Jeno’s or someone else’s.
When the elevator reached the top floor, you climbed another staircase to reach the helipad. You made sure to bar the one-way entrance to the roof deck. The wooden cross on the handles weren’t too strong, but you prayed they were tough enough to last the next few minutes as the clock ticked closer to 7AM.
You never thought that you’d make it this far alive.
The sun has long risen from the horizon and the entire city was now basked in sunlight, exposing the remnants of last night’s purge. From the rooftop of the building you were both perched on, you could make out the streets you speed through a few hours ago. They were empty then but they were littered with lifeless bodies now with significant amounts of blood splattered on the pavement and on the walls that they could still be visible this high up.
Your head throbbed, both from fatigue and from the dwindling adrenaline rush that kept you upright throughout the night. In the past four hours, you learned not to underestimate the human body’s instinct to survive in the most grave situations. You ran at speeds you thought you’d never reach and did stunts that would rival any gymnast.
Your head falls unto the shoulder of the boy sitting next to you, slowly giving into the exhaustion from running around. Jeno leaned his own head against yours, equally exhausted as you were (or maybe a lot more). His breathing was heavy and it fogged up the air before him as he exhaled.
“You okay?” he asked, shifting his head so he could turn and catch a glimpse of your face.
Blood rushes to your cheeks as you suddenly felt conscious of your appearance. You were sure you looked like a mess now with dust, dirt and blood forming a disgusting mixture on your skin and clothes.
But Jeno noticed your hesitance and it amused him. You watch as his eyes disappeared into semi-concave lines right as a chuckle escapes his lips. You feel the familiar sting of wounds re-opening on your chapped lips as you broke into a smile yourself. That was the only moment of tranquility you’ve had in the past few hours you’ve been running around.
Where you would’ve been if your knight in shining leather jacket didn’t drop by to save you last midnight, you couldn’t imagine it.
“Let me tell you something,” he uttered, turning sideways to face you.
You mirror him, sitting with your legs crossed before you and leaning in to whatever he had to say.
Jeno leaded forward until his face was close enough that his breath would fan your ear. “You’re not making it off this roof deck alive.”
Your smile turned into a frown. His words don’t fully sink in yet with your mind being in a state of denial that there was no way that the same person who kept you alive up until this point was the very same person foretelling your tragic fate now. You wanted to pull away but your body was too exhausted to even move a muscle. If you managed to stand, where would you go? Down the stairwell where the rest of the Neos waited for you?
“I promised to keep you safe from them,” Jeno muttered, running the back of his hand down the side of your face. “But not from me.”
The knife Jeno had been keeping tucked in his pocket was sharp and it sliced through the skin of your neck neatly. Your blood spurts out of the slash, spraying onto his chest before dripping down your neck. Now you realized why he wore black even when it meant absorbing all the heat. It absorbed the color of blood pretty well too.
Your hand reached up to grab your throat, attempting to block the blood source with your shaky fingers but to no avail. Breathing was painful, gulping down your own saliva was even worse. Eventually, blood started spilling out your mouth.
“Did you know I never quit?” Jeno said. “They kicked me out because I nearly killed a Neo. The only way I could get back was if my unit vouched for my return. The only way to do that was by helping in this year’s games.”
You listened to him, even when you didn’t want to. But in the last moments of your life, you couldn’t wish for anything more but an explanation as to why it had to end this way.
“Of course, I couldn’t have the rest of the Neos knowing that I was still a part of the game or that Taeyong offered me a spot back in. I had to do what I needed to,” he continued.
He then grabbed your shoulders to push you off of him. You thought he’d push you right off the building, but he only propped you up so he could have a good look at your face.
“Thank you,” he uttered.
You saw him smile as your eyes fluttered shut, not having the strength to pry them open anymore. He lets you fall back into place—on his chest, caged in the arms of your own murderer. He gives you a squeeze and you choke up more blood again, staining the back of his leather jacket.
The rumors were right, they were nothing but cold blooded killers.
“Lee Jeno, you crazy fuck!” You heard a voice say as soon as the roofdeck door swung open. “You promised that we’ll win this year! You should’ve run me over when you had the chance earlier because I feel like I could kill you right now.” Donghyuck shouted, stomping all the way from the entrance to where you both sat.
Jaemin hits Donghyuck’s chest with the back of his palm as he pointed out that the scene wasn’t something straight out of a cheesy television series. It was enough to shut the latter up.
Jeno cleared his throat. “How many did you manage to tick off the kill list?” Jeno asked, stroking your back as if to comfort you. You’ve started to feel numb moments ago that you could barely feel his touch.
“6,” Yangyang answered, half-listening to the conversation and half-engulfed in the view on top of the  skyscraper.
“There were only 19 names on the list this year. Taeyong said every team worked hard this year, I’m assuming it’s all a tie now and the 19th one is sitting right here.” he said, patting your head the way a parent would pat the head of a baby to help them fall asleep.
“Classic Lee Jeno,” Renjun remarked. “You really tricked Taeyong and you had him chasing you around, offering you to come back.”
You could hear the laughter bubble in his chest, “What did you want me to do? Tell them I was secretly working with you so y’all would lose?”
They all shared an amused laugh. It echoes in your head like a broken record, a reminder of the series of bad decisions that led you up to that very moment. How stupid of you to believe that you could’ve made it out alive even when you knew no one ever managed to do so. Jeno did a really good job of convincing you that you had a chance.
Your heart aches at the betrayal.
“Welcome back to the Neos, Lee Jeno.”
You pictured the taunting tattoos of the 6-legged spider on the back of each of their hands. Their triumphant laughter was one of the last things you heard before you slipped into darkness again, cradled in your own killer’s arms.
The clock struck 7 and the sirens down below began to wail again. The Purge was over and they won the game again.

CONGRATS ON 100 FOLLOWERS!!! You definitely deserve it oml. I have not been this invested in a smau in a while.
I have a tiny request that I think my fellow Jaehyun enthusiasts will like (don't feel pressured to do this- it's totally okay if you don't want to)
Anyway- I was wondering if you could write a blurb/mini chapter from Jaehyun's perspective? Maybe what he thinks when he sees Johnny and Y/N together? Or just a general insight to his past and how that reflects his current emotions and standings towards relationships -🐼
every lie you type *blurb*
thank you so much! i haven’t been so invested in writing a story until i started “every lie you type” and i’m so glad so many people are enjoying it! I really hope that this blurb gives you a little insight into Jaehyun’s character!
* also i feel like i should remind everyone that Jaehyun is about 3 years older than everyone! currently he is 24 while everyone else is roughly 21/22
———
synopsis: A look into one of Jaehyun’s therapy sessions from when he was a senior in High school.
masterlist
word count: 580
“So Jaehyun, did you do the assignment I gave you last week?” The lady crossed her legs and propped up her notebook on her knee.
“Yeah.” Jaehyun sniffed a little, his voice hoarse. His hands shook as he handed his notebook over to his therapist. Gently she took his from his hands and smiled reassuringly.
“Do you mind if I read the latest entry?” Jaehyun shook his head, indicating she can read his inner thoughts.
The room fell quiet, the only sound coming from the clock on the wall. It’s ticking driving him crazy as his leg starts to bounce and he bites at his nails.
“So.” His therapist broke the silence after about 10 minutes. “I’m always impressed at how thorough and intricate your writing is.. But I am concerned.”
“About?” Jaehyun whispered, his voice trembling, he could never tell when he’s said too much.
“You talked a lot about Julia? Who is she?”
“Oh.. She was my ex.” Jaehyun looked into her eyes to search for what to do next. “She was a good girlfriend..”
“No she wasn’t Jaehyun..” His therapist sighed, and closed his notebook. “Based on what you wrote it seems she was manipulating and abusive.”
“No.. No she wasn’t abusive, she loved me.” Jaehyun tried to argue.
“That wasn’t love Jaehyun, if someone loves you they won’t hurt you like that.” Jaehyun’s eyes began to water, he only ever allowed himself to cry in front of his therapist.
“But I loved her..” Jaehyun whispered. “I knew she was bad for me but I couldn’t leave her. If I left her, who would love me?” He looked into his therapist's eyes, tears blurring his vision. “No one would ever love me.”
“Jaehyun, there are so many people out there who love you. What your parents did to you, what your exes have done to you.. None of it determines your worth in a relationship. You deserve more than what you’re giving yourself.”
“I don’t think I do, it’s no coincidence that all my relationships have turned to shit. Anna, Lia, Julia, all of them were bad.” Jaehyun rubbed his eyes, trying to get rid of the tears.
“Jaehyun, I have another assignment for you.” She handed him back his notebook. “I want you to write a letter to all your exes, write about what they did to you and how it made you feel when it ended, and then I want you to rip them up and throw them away. Let go of your past and don’t ever look back.”
“I can’t do that. I can’t let them go.” Jaehyun gulped. “They’re in my mind, everyday and every night. No matter how hard I try to forget them, they’re always there.”
“This will be the start of letting them go Jaehyun, they might not disappear overnight but you’ll learn to forget them. But first you have to work on letting go of your feelings, and these letters will help you get everything out.” She wrote something down in her notepad and ripped it out to hand it to Jaehyun. It was a list of all his exes and even his parents' names.
“Why are my parents on here?” He looked up at her, his eyes bloodshot.
“They’re optional. I know they left your life years ago but there are still repressed feelings there and I think this exercise will help you let them go.” Jaehyun nods, his hands shaking again as he scrunches up the note.

No Talking in the Library || Taeyong
Tumblr media
"Losing my virginity? Better say taking someone’s virginity. Triple check."
Tumblr media
There are still so many things you want to do in your last semester before graduation, and Taeyong is willing to help you.
_______
Skinny dipping
Partying all night long
Drinking hard shots
Dancing on a bar counter
Playing spin the bottle
Getting completely drunk
Attend an illegal rave
Kiss s/o I just met
Ditch classes
You inhaled deeply and tucked the sheet back into your dress’s pocket and out of your sight, your thoughts revolving around the last point you’ve written again.
Losing my virginity
You were already a few months into your last year of university and yet you still felt like you hadn’t experienced everything a normal college kid should have once done in their young lives.
That you hadn’t really lived so far.
Looking at your friends, they had left you behind a long time ago in the first semester already when it came down to checking off bucket lists. It wasn’t like you were too shy or stayed away from parties and boys, though. The opportunity just had never arisen, and only now you realized that it probably never would if you wouldn’t take fate into your own hands.
You were sick and tired of waiting for the perfect moment and the perfect guy.
Looking at your watch, you realized it was nearly time for your next class and that you slowly had to get going.
Passing by different bookshelves, you were pondering whether to still search for lecture here in the library to read through the weekend in preparation for the project you had to work on the next week, but you quickly resisted the urge to do so as you had already collected enough and headed straight to the door.
“Watch out!” you still heard before the next thing you felt was pain crippling your face.
Only the break of a second was needed before numbness turned into pain and shot through your nerves that even reached the tips of your fingers with the root of the ache being your nose.
“Oh my god!” you squealed and brought your hands to the middle of your face while tears welled up behind your squinted eyes.
“I’m so sorry!” a male voice said, full with panic.
When you dared to open your lids, you looked into the eyes of the guy who had banged the entry door right into her face.
“You nearly killed me!”
“I’m so sorry, y/n!”
When he mentioned your name, you turned keen-eared. Blinking through your tears, you slowly started to get a sharper view of the boy in front of you as well. Just slightly taller than you, dark hair, and an expression as shocked as yours.
You just didn’t know his name anymore.
“Does it hurt that bad? Shall we go to the ward to get a cooling pad or something?”
You shook your head and slowly brought your hands down again. The guy had a hard time biting down the smile that threatened to slip off his lips. With care, he touched your arm in a comforting gesture to reassure you.
“I’m sorry, but you totally look like Rudolph the reindeer now.”
You sniffed. “Yes, thanks to you!”
“Okay, that’s true,” he admitted and retreated his hand. “How about I make it up to you, hm?”
“Uh…” You stared at him, yet you still weren’t able to classify his familiar face.
“Hey!” You suddenly got interrupted by the library’s supervisor, a middle-aged woman who was always wearing a frown and owned the hearing of a bat. “No talking in the library! Go inside or leave, but this door has to be closed, understand?”
You nodded, and the guy made a move to pass by the librarian, but not without whispering to you “Come here!” before you disappeared into the library again, the door closing shut behind you.
Having you by his arm, he dragged you along the rows of bookshelves until he found a quiet corner in the very far back of the library. All the while when you were looking at his back, you tried to remember where you knew him from.
And then it suddenly came into your mind.
When you opened the group convo with your friends, his face would appear right next to the unsaved contact that your friend Johnny had added two days prior.
It was Lee Taeyong.
Johnny, Ten, and Jaehyun’s new roommate who you had also met once before at Johnny’s birthday party last week.
“Hey, at least your nose is not red anymore, huh?” he laughed when he came to a hold.
“Banging a door into my face again, Taeyong?” you asked back. “I have to admit, this is kind of a weird way to hit on a girl.”
“You know my name! Admittedly, even just now I wasn’t so sure whether you remembered.”
“That was true, but once the pain vanished and I looked at your back, that scene seemed very familiar to me.”
He grinned. “Johnny’s birthday party, yes, I banged a door into your face back then as well. I’m sorry, I am actually a gentleman, I just didn’t have a chance to prove it yet. I hope this isn’t becoming our thing now.“
“You mean… you banging doors into my face? I hope not, because you actually seem like a nice guy, and otherwise I have to do a runner right now. I’d like to live a few years more.”
“My roommates wouldn’t like the thought that I scared their friend away, so let’s keep this a secret, alright?”
He winked and you laughed. You liked his humor very much and were wondering why you two hadn’t talked before at Johnny’s party.
„Oh, what’s this?“
Taeyong lifted his hand and picked up something white from the floor. He inspected his finding and then frowned. The next moment, he presented something to you that hadn’t been supposed to get seen by anyone else aside from you. The sheet. Apparently it had fallen out of your pocket while hurriedly walking!
You blushed up to her ears and snatched it out of his hand. “Don’t read this!”
He shrugged. “Well… it was quite hard not to miss the significant writing while picking it up, so…”
“Ugh…” You rolled your eyes into oblivion and wished for a hole to appear right under you to vanish in there right now.
You felt your ears burning and a hot flush running down your back as you remembered the last point you had written down. A stranger knowing about your virgin life! Embarrassing!!
“Do you… actually mean this?”
“Mean what?” you questioned with a shaky voice.
You hadn’t heard the slightest tone of mockery in his voice, you then noticed, and when you dared to look at him again, his gaze was even radiating curiosity, far from scorn.
“The points on this list.”
“Please don’t make fun of me!” you defended yourself. “You don’t know me or why I did this in the first place, so…”
You wanted to quickly pass by him and escape from the scenery, but he grabbed you by your arm and made you stop.
“What I know,” he then spoke, “is that you’re a kind and funny girl, apparently looking for the full college experience, am I right? I would never make fun of someone for that.”
“Okay… thank you. And I’d prefer if you won’t tell anyone about that.”
“That’s a given.”
“So… having checked off anything yet?“
You shook her head, suddenly feeling a weird knot in your stomach. “I just made this today. But now that someone knows about it, it’s probably ridiculous.”
“I don’t think that it’s ridiculous. You just want some fun, what’s so wrong about that?”
You hadn’t looked at this from another point of view, but now Taeyong was giving you his perspective. And he sounded so nonchalant and positive about it that you suddenly didn’t feel as exposed and embarrassed as before.
“You know what I think?” he then blurted out.
“What?” Now, you grew curious.
“I think you need someone to guide you through it, and many more experiences. Go hard or go home.” He grinned. “Someone who’s done all that already.”
“And you’re such a person?” you challenged.
“Let me see.”
Taeyong took the sheet from you again and read through the list. “Skinny dipping? Check. Partying all night long? Every weekend. Drinking hard shots? Also every weekend. Dancing on a bar counter? Double check, except for that one time I fell off. Playing spin the bottle? Boring, but check. Getting completely drunk? More checks than I can remember. Attend an illegal rave? Double check. Kiss someone I just met? I’m not counting this one anymore. Ditch classes? At least once a month. Losing my virginity? Better say taking someone’s virginity. Triple check.”
“Okay I understand!” You yanked the paper out of his hand again. “You probably had a few years to experience all this, and I only have the rest of my senior year left.”
“Why the rush?” Taeyong asked.
Reluctantly, you answered, “I’m leaving the country for my PhD.”
He nodded. “I see.”
Folding the sheet in your hands, you tucked it back into your pocket. “But please don’t tell the guys, I haven’t opened up to them about my future plans yet, but I want to tell them personally when the time is right.”
“Of course.” Taeyong paused. “Well, then what’s stopping you from joining a party with me tonight to get started?”
“The fact that I barely know you yet?”
“Hm, of course, you’ve got a point.” Taeyong pursed his lips and seemed to ponder over something. “Why haven’t we really talked before though at Johnny’s birthday party?”
“I really cannot remember what happened after you’ve banged the door into my face.” You chuckled. “I probably went to cry in the bathroom and then we’ve just lost sight of each other, because you haven’t found a weird sheet from me like today.”
“So… Since you only could remember me just now, we can technically say we’ve just met, right?”
“I’d sign that.”
“Great.”
You barely had time to wonder why he was grinning from ear to ear yet again when you felt Taeyong’s lips on yours the next moment.
They were soft and warm, his movements gentle at first, and he tasted so fresh and minty, and a little bit sweet as though he had drunk some fruit juice just before. Very summerly, and very manly.
His sudden kiss had left you speechless as well as motionless in the beginning, but you, now in high spirits, started to take pleasure in this act not long after his first move as you leaned against him and were welcomed with open arms.
Taeyong was a very handsome guy, there was nothing to deny about that fact, and he was a good kisser on top of that.
His hands made your body angle so that he could circle his arms around your waist and pressed you firmly against him. With your hands, you wandered upwards and sunk your fingers into his fluffy hair just in the moment Taeyong made you part your lips to deepen the kiss with his tongue.
Of course you had kissed boys before. Just because you were still a virgin didn’t mean you had never made out with someone.
But you had never made out with someone this good before.
Although you had gotten a door into your face shortly before, you weren’t so sure whether it was truly only the aftereffects of a possible head injury or Taeyong’s uninterrupted, passionate and oh-so-good kissing or both that got you feel so lightheaded and dizzy.
But what you knew was that you were enjoying that kiss very much.
And that you wanted more.
And Taeyong apparently as well as he proved it to you when his hands curved against your buttocks, and he gently shoved you backwards until your back rested against the wall behind you.
With his fingers, he felt the tender and glowing skin under your shirt’s bottom hem, massaging the spot there lightly as your hands simultaneously grabbed onto his shoulders and pulled him so close to you that no sheet would fit in the slit between you two anymore.
Secretly kissing in the library hadn’t been written down on your agenda, but you took whatever you could get to make your last semester a memorable one.
This was so fun to you that you started to think that this bucket list that you had made wasn’t that much of a bad idea after all if every single one of the experiences would leave you that excited as kissing Taeyong.
When you parted, he was still wearing that grin that now seemed more sweet than smug to you, and you joined him.
“Kiss someone you just met? Check.”
“Well, then our meeting here didn’t go to waste after all,” you concluded.
Admittedly, you wanted more. And by the way Taeyong looked at you, still so turned on and dreamy, he didn’t seem to loathe that idea as well.
“How about putting another point up that list?”
“Such as…?” You tilted your head.
“Making out with someone you’ve just met at a party?”
You playfully looked away as though you were in deep thoughts, but to you, the answer was clear the moment he had proposed the idea to you. “I think that’s an experience I shouldn’t miss as well.”
Just as Taeyong let out a relieved laughter and leaned in to you again, you heard a familiar,
“No talking in the library!”
In front of them stood the librarian with the worst timing ever.
“Technically, we weren’t talking,“ Taeyong cleared up cheekily as he withdrew from you, and you nodded in approval.
The librarian though looked confused.
The wink Taeyong shot into your direction was only visible for you, and you blushed faintly as you agreed, “Yeah, we were anything but talking.”
„But I heard you!“ the elderly woman scolded.
“Well, we did something much more fun than talking,” Taeyong explained, but before the librarian could chide more, you laughingly escaped to the outside.
„So about the party…“ he then started as the library’s door closed behind you. „Since we’re technically no strangers anymore…“
You rolled your eyes, but smiled. „Perhaps, I’ll come to the party.“
„And then move on to check off the other points?“ He smirked.
You stuck your tongue out at him, but were really looking forward to tonight.

🏁 Coordinate 127: Story of Favorite and Vampires
Tumblr media
“The tragic romance theme story is just an illusion to hold down the Neos to stay in the dream world.”
A theory and thoughts about NCT 127′s Story of Favorite and why vampires are important in the NCT’s lore.
(!) WARNING: This is a theory as it is not confirmed by SM entertainment nor members of NCT, so please don’t believe this 100%!
I won’t talk about what actually happened in the story and its connection to their lore, I think there are many people out there from different platforms (mainly Twitter) discussed it. But I’m sharing you this one because I think its the most interesting of all of the ones I read,
link
The reason why the vampire can change his appearance because each member must have a part in the story.
And the thing is, some symbols/objects (fish, rose (specifically burning rose), moon, etc.) have already been shown since the beginning of NCT. Read here. Dreams often repeat things that we see in the past (dream), so we are bringing back the important elements from the past. Perhaps it will be used in NCT2021.
---
I will talk about Story of Favorite in a different perspective.
My main point:
“The tragic romance theme story is just an illusion to hold down the Neos to stay in the dream world.”
Although the Neos’ main objective is to leave the dream world, there are always B-side songs that seems so dreamy and romantic; those songs represent the things that tie down the Neos from leaving. A sweet and romantic dream. To be immersed in the romance inside the dream world so that they don’t want to leave and face the harsh reality. Though the significant other is never clear; maybe its just the feeling of being in love. After all its just an illusion, sent possibly by the main evil; perhaps Black Mamba?
Taeyong’s hair cut is not a fire in Sticker, but a snake. In Classic ver., Taeyong has a green snake brooch. In Catharsis Ver., Jaehyun and Taeyong have snake skin shoes.
This is evident from their Catharsis version photo shoot. Which was similar to aespa’s case, because they were under the Hallucination Quest by the Black Mamba.
Tumblr media
I may not be able to tell you why the members’ moving flash/lighting colors different from each other (especially Mark, Johnny, and Yuta’s that don’t match at all) yet, but the moving flash is to show that they are in the enemy’s territory and are under its hallucination.
The story is tragic to slow down their mission; making them depressed.
Using a vampire may be a good symbol to represent their situation. Since they are immortal, there is no end for them. Like the Neos being in a never ending dream.
But I do have another idea.
(!) Take this one with a grain of salt :)
Aliens, Ghosts, and Vampires are mentioned in The Matrix Reloaded.
Tumblr media
It has something to do with these characters called the Exiles. I wrote a theory about that and you can read it here. In that theory, I wrote that perhaps there are some members that possess that role.
BTW a Kfan pointed out there are some references from The Matrix

In the Classic ver., their clothes outfit resembles the Merovingian. Jaehyun and Taeyong’s resemble the character when he is in Club Hel. While in the Catharsis ver., their clothes resemble the people in Zion.
In case you don’t see my ReBlog
Even after reading and watching Story of Favorite, I still think all of it are illusions. How can you feel love in the dream world? Even after finding out that that world isn’t even real? Jae being the main protag probably has something to do with him being a hacker in Sticker; the first to track Black Mamba perhaps? So the snake is after him first. People still believe he’s the same hacker as the one Ningning was talking to.
Final conclusion (after watching the MV)
Jaehyun was the one who opened the dream for this time and synchronized with everyone. Which explains why he is the main character in the Story of Favorite. The snake was after Jae first (same explanation as my reblog^), Story of Favorite is a hallucination given to him. But unlike in aespa where they were saved by Naevis, he wasn’t, so he got bitten by the snake :) Using vampire as a theme for that was smart haha
Favorite MV theory: Butterflies and a Snake
---
But take note that this is just a theory. I myself don’t know to what extent do the NCT directors take inspirations from the film. But it is odd to see them using Aliens, Ghosts, and Vampires repetitively. This isn’t the first time vampire is used. WayV’s Nectar is about a vampire.
If you have read this far, thank you!

ummmm hi 😳 who in nctot23 would be into tall girls like tall tall 5’9 tall asking for myself cuz im 5’9 lmao☝️😌 LOVE UR WRITING BTW!!!
Thank you tall person.
All of them would be into tall girls but for very different reasons and I will list these reasons below:
Taeil is more than happy to crawl on your back like a baby koala. He might fall asleep and drool against your neck but unlike a koala he doesn’t have chlamydia and his saliva is non-toxic so it’s okay.
Johnny is happy he won’t get a neck cramp trying to kiss his partner anymore. Made his last girlfriend bring around a step stool because he was at risk of scoliosis
Pick Taeyong up and swing him around in your arms like a princess. He loves it.
Yuta will go absolutely feral at the thought of being able to climb you like a tree. It’s either sexy or terrifying depending on your perspective. Unlike Taeil, his saliva is toxic so don’t let him drool on you too much.
Kun thinks it’s especially convenient that you have long legs so you can power walk to the cashier at the grocery store and get ahead of the line.
It’s nothing personal, but Doyoung will cut off your legs at the knees so he can maintain the illusion of his internet height.
Ten is going to use you as a pole to practice his routines on.
Jaehyun is so happy. Finally he can feel small and comforted in the arms of another. At long last he can weep his troubles away while watching The Notebook and being swaddled in a blanket like a burrito of sadness.
Winwin is the only one I would say to be wary of. The taller you are, the more likely you are to make full eye contact with him and that is a dangerous game.
Jungwoo can shrink and expand his height depending on what need he has of it so he will always be a comfortable height to give you a little kiss on the forehead while his tentacles caress your lower back.
Lucas stands behind you in the kitchen with a big dumb smile and asks you to get him things from the top shelf even though he is perfectly capable of doing it himself. If your shirt rides up he is morally obligated to poke your bare skin with his finger.
Mark loves it because everyday he can ask his “how’s the weather up there?” joke. He thinks he’s so original and hilarious. He laughs for a minimum of 5 minutes every time he says it.
Xiaojun likes it when you tuck him under your arm and carry him around like a football, but he will spontaneously combust if anyone else is aware of this fact. Now who are you going to use as an armrest?
Hendery thinks it’s real funny to make lumberjack jokes and he forces you to wear matching flannels
It’s very convenient for Renjun to have someone to use as a human shield during fights. Invest in some protective gear because he will hide behind your legs like an angry toddler.
Jeno says love is love. He likes to lay down on top of you lengthwise, completely still, and just breathe. Just let him do it he needs a break.
Haechan likes to sit on your shoulders so he can keep watch. Will throw hands with anyone that makes fun of you but also mercilessly makes fun of you.
Jaemin cares not for your mortal form so long as you have available skin he can press his lips to. And since you are taller, you naturally have more surface area for him to kiss. It’s a win-win in his books.
Yangyang finally has an excuse to wear the platform stripper heels that Haechan gave him for his birthday
Shotaro keeps trying to make puns with his name while he stands next to you. “Shortaro” sticks around for a bit before it gets annoying but he’s smiling so much you feel bad telling him it isn’t actually funny. Please tell him though before he actually legally changes his name.
Sungchan is also tall and enjoys the appeal of your combined height making you super intimidating to the peasants below you.
Chenle appreciates the tactical advantage of having a tall girlfriend and will climb on your shoulders to use you as both a ladder and a method of escape from the consequences of his jokes.
Jisung thinks you couldn’t be tall enough. The taller the better he thinks. Please keep growing. He feeds you growth hormones and milk so you can continue to grow. So tall. Tall enough that he can use you as a beanstalk and climb away from the rest of NCT. Finally, he is free.

hi:)! i’m a new nctzen,i found out about nct maybe 3 months ago? so i don’t really know much about anything haha. Anyways, since i found this blog,i have to say my perspective of jaedo has changed; mostly bc i used to be a dotae/taedo enthusiast, but some of the things i saw recently have made me question that. So i wanted to ask if there’s any timeline that you might’ve done in the past that could make me see things a little better,or,if you don’t mind, could you tell me more about the confession period? I’m really intrigued by that. Also if it’s not too much,I wanted to ask about the johndo fall out,do we know when it happened? From the recent content it seems as if they’re closer than ever, and I also think part of that is bc when Ty inevitably goes to military service it’s going to be quite hard on dy🥺,so he’s going to be relying on jn A LOT I feel like. Anyways sorry for the super long ask, have a great day!
Hi, welcome to the fandom.
I suggest you form your own opinion about the boys by watching official content (YT shows on NCT channels and appearences on programmes like Weekly Idol) rather then listening to the fans on twitter. I've noticed that even me, who is a very stubborn person, get my perception of idols changed due to influence of others (the annoyance from the stans is transferred by association on their bias). I have to do "reality check" and correct my view of an idol from time to time, get rid of the accumulated slime of prejudice.
I do have a post with a timeline of sorts, however, I won't be able to find it now. I'm certain JaeDo got together in Spring of 2018, probably in May. I strongly suspect Jaehyun confessed during the last days of 2016 and was initially rejected. I think it because Doyoung was in denial about his orientation and was spooked. He took half a year or so to think about the ordeal, then another half a year to weight in all the options, and a few months to become certain about his final decision and find the right moment for his own confession.
Jaehyun once said he is the type to tell his feelings straight out, to confess. He probably chose the end of 2016 because: a) Doyoung became a fixed part of 127, the future together in one unit was guaranteed, b) Jaehyun turned 20 (Korean age), he became an adult, so could demand to be treated as a grown up, seriously, and not as a child (you will see fans talking about Jae being the original nest baby, the first maknae, he was Do's cute dongsaeng), c) some Doyoung's actions/words could have made Jae be positive Do is also into boys.
The confession period has its own tag. The list of tags is in the header.
I don't follow any Johnny or JohnDo accs, so I don't notice the changes as quickly as with JaeDo. It is mostly other fans who alert me about changes with other neos and I start paying close attention to see for myself if their suspicions are true. Doyoung had a fall out with both Ten and Johnny around NCT2020. We don't know the reason. I can't tell if it was a one big fight or things worsened over time. Johnny and Doyoung promoted in different teams, so didn't interact much. The tension became apparent during 2021 and 2022 lives and programmes. The way they interacted and reacted to each other changed, the comfortable easiness to their rapport dissapeared. Johnny succeded in making Doyoung forgive him by the end of 2022. Currently they are back to how they were in the past, they even do lives together.
Most neos fought at one point or another. Even TaeDo. Doyoung even consulted a manager what he should do about him not getting along with Tae, and got a reply "deal with it, you will work together anyway".
I don't think JohnDo has anything to do with Tae. Doyoung doesn't rely on Johnny emotionally the way you suggest. He is "the oldest brother" in the unit. JohnTaeDo never formed a close-knit trio of their own. It was always JohnTae/TaeDo/JohnDo. If anyone, I expect Do to rely on Haechan as support more in the upcoming years when he will be the leader of the unit.
