“What were you thinking up there, when you were holding the grammy?” A reporter asks.

“And the best pop duo performance goes to…”
Nervousness washes over you. As much as you say you don’t care, winning this would mean the world to you. You tap your fingers on the table anxiously.
Charles’ places his hands over yours, and looks into your eyes. He gives you a reassuring smile as your fingers stop tapping so much. He holds your hand tightly which somehow makes you feel more confident.
“y/n l/n and Charles Leclerc!”
You scream and stand up. Charles stands up, but more calmly. Everyone at your table congratulates you and Charles, giving both of you pats on the back and handshakes. Tears flow out from your eyes as you walk onto stage, with Charles’ hand in yours.
Charles holds the grammy and passes it to you. You wipe your tears off, taking deep breaths before taking the grammy. Both of you stand in front of the mic.
“Holy shit.” You say, looking at the grammy. Charles places his hand over your shoulder, pulling you in.
It gives you a different sense of comfort. He kisses your cheek which makes the place explode into cheers and applause. You blush a little, hiding it with a chuckle.
Your gaze slowly moves from the grammy, to the crowd then finally into Charles’ eyes. They’re gorgeous. It really was something special for you, for him and for your relationship.

“What were you thinking up there, when you were holding the grammy?” A reporter asks.
You shift in your seat a little bit, thinking of how to phrase your answer before you pull the mic closer to you.
“Well, other than ‘holy shit my boyfriend’s eyes are gorgeous’, then probably ‘holy shit this is actually happening’.” You respond, smiling as you do so.
Your response earns a slight laugh from the crowd of interviewers.
“What was the process of writing with Charles Leclerc like?” Another asks.
“He should stick to racing.” You joke, laughing a little, “I’m kidding, don’t tell him I said that.”
You straighten up, “Well originally none of us ever thought we’d be doing this. It was pretty out of nowhere.” You reminisce of a few months ago.
You sit on the couch, notebook and pen in hand, scribbling down random words and phrases which come to your head. You click your pen a few times, leaning back onto the couch and looking up into the ceiling.
“Charles!” You shout, still looking into the ceiling
“Yes?” Charles says, poking his head into the living room.
“Come here.” You demand, but politely.
He obeys you and walks over, sitting next to you. He rests his head on your shoulder.
“Hm.” Charles makes an unintelligible noise.
“I just need you to sit there.” You say, still clicking your pen.
“Okay.” He says.
You stare at him for a few seconds, then write down a few words before clicking your pen again.
“Do you want me to play the piano?” He asks softly while you stare intently at your messy handwriting on the notebook.
You look up and your face lights up, “Yes! Yes please.”
He smiles, hops over the backrest of the couch and sits on the piano bench. You follow him. He moves to one side of the bench, patting the other side. You sit down there and he starts playing.
It’s your turn to rest your head on his shoulder as he plays the piano. It gives you some ideas which you do write down but after a while you sit up.
“You should write with me.” You blurt out.
“Write? I don’t really do that a lot, I’m not very good-” He replies, continuing to play the piano.
“Liar. You’re writing with me.” It’s not a request, it’s a demand.
Charles doesn’t protest, instead he continues playing the piano, nodding at your words.
“And here we are.” You chuckle.
“This song took a lot longer than it would usually take you. Is there a reason?” Another interviewer asks
“I left two verses out for Charles to write, and that was on period, I wasn’t changing that no matter what.” You respond.
“Are you glad you kept with that decision?” A follow up question pops up.
“Hell yea. I love what Charles wrote, no matter how long it took him.”

Transcript of Edvin's radio interview
This is nowhere near perfect and not a word by word translation. BUt it took me over 2 hours so...
You owe me hahaha
Some discussions of season 3 and minor spoilers but nothing huge.
I: Edvin Ryding, it will soon be time for the third season of Young Royals, that's why we are here to talk about that among other things. I just have to start off- you arrive here blonde and with what looks like a racing jacket in orange, red, beige, lots of colours.
E: Yes, I like it, I bought it this weekend when I was in Paris and walked past a Second-Hand Store where I found it and thought it was cool. There’s something a bit cool with stark colours and logos and with the blond hair. I’m at a phase where I need to experiment a bit I think.
I: Yeah, because as Wilhelm in young royals you don’t, Wilhelm doesn’t want to stand out.
E: In particular it’s the way he’s been raised. He is told what to wear and how to style his hair, how long his hair is allowed to be. You should look the part so to speak. Not standing out from the norms which is what the royal family wants to portray.
I: In season 3 he says “I’m not allowed to cut my hair shorter”
E: Exactly, he’s trapped in those norms. I remember when I tried to map Wilhelm down before season 1 I wrote down some of his interests and dreams. As soon as I did it I thought it was beautiful that he had these dreams, thoughts and interests but then I realised that he won’t be allowed to realise them, they will always remain vague interests. I’ve always thought of him as into fashion that’s into style but he’s stuck in history, traditions and expectation which is prominent in his whole life. In many ways, that’s what the series is about. That's the reason why he’s not allowed to cut his his hair shorter.
I: Could you say he lives out through his love?
E: Yeah, that's where he actually can’t resist anymore. These traditions and expectations have kept him from realising who he wants to be but when moves to Hillerska he meets Simon and realises this is a person I can be myself with, a person I’m in love with, oh wow I’m in love with him. And that becomes a catalyst for other parts of his life where he wants to be free and test his wings.
I: And Simon can dress the way he wants and be more free.
E: Exactly, he comes from a background where he’s allowed to be who he is with his family but when he comes to Hillerska with all those traditions he is also influenced by that and now in season three they have chosen each other and are a couple officially after the speech in season two. ANd that changes Simon's life too. He’s suddenly in the spotlight for the first time and is faced with new dilemmas with how he wants to handle things
I: In preparation for season 1 you said you went through Wilhelm’s dreams, who it was and his limitations, the expectations on him and the rules he has to obey. What did this map look like? What was the big dream?
E: The big dream was for him to have room to breathe and be free. I remember that Rojda Sekezöz who was conceptual director for season 1 and 2 asked us to write a diary entry from the first week of Hillerska and I wrote that Wilhelm dreams of having a good relationship with his family and his mum, for her to be only his mum. He dreams of being allowed to let loose. When we first meet him in season 1 he is kindof a party prince and that’s a way for him I believe to express the frustrations inside him that he has carried in all seasons but now in season 3 he actually lives out- He dreams of being free meets SImon and realise it’s possible.
I: What about you Edvin? As an actor, have you changed in these seasons? It’s years of your life, You are young with alot going on but alot of things must have changed for you as an actor too?
E: Yeah, you are right, it’s been a very live changing experience with the reach of the series and the fact that we got to make 3 seasons, alot of things have happened in my life. You are trying to find your identity and you you are. I’m very thankful for these 3 years with this show and these people. I’ve learned more than I could ever dream of from directors and all the actors. It’s been a privilege to be around what I believe is Sweden’s future in this industry. There are so many young and ambitious people. We have been free and learned so much from each other and also become very close. That’s what I will miss the most I think.
I: Because this is the last season.
E: Yeah it is the last season.
I: Can you tell that you have developed as an actor. I think you can tell that you’ve gotten to know the environments, both as an actor and as the character. You are confident in some situations but also have pressure and expectations in others. Can you look at yourself from season 1 and then now in season 3 and think, “wow I’ve developed alot”
E: Yeah, I would say that. I look back at scenes from season 1 and think “wow I’m so young” and how clueless I was. I thought I had everything under control but I’ve learned so much up until now. It was the first time I was the lead role. For a very big project and I was very nervous but Rojda was very caring and safe so she guided me. She’s not a a part of the final season but I feel like when I started working with new director that I felt alot more confident and trusted myself more. And that will get you very far as an actor.
I: And you are meant to develop. It’s been three years. You are new at the school in the first season. Maybe it works out very well that you as an actor develop as the series does.
E: Yeah, we’ve been shooting it for three years but the story itself takes place during one school year. But I’ve also realised that what these characters are going through in a school year is what most people experience in 3. SO it works our very well.
I: This show has had exceptional reception. Netflix is talking about a worldwide success. You’ve already talked about this alot but how has it been for you recently? Howfrquently are fans in touch and how does it affect you?
E: It affects me alot. In a good way. It becomes quite abstract and it’s hard to grasp it when you are on social media and sees a number. It’s hard to realise that these are real people. BUt then we’ve had opportunities where we got to meet people. When we were at Kimmy Fallon we met people and Omar had his own show with a big audience from across the world that we got to meet. Just now in Paris we met people. When you get to meet these people and they tell you what the series have meant for them and that they have met people across the world thanks to the series it feels powerful. I’m doing this because I want to move people with this artform. And with this project we’ve managed to do that. It’s huge.
I: This will be with you your whole life, it’s a milestone.
E: Definitely!
I: BUt you were in Paris to talk about the show?
E: No, I was in Paris for Fashion Week. There’s alot of love on social media, of course unpleasant people too and I have periods in my life where I can handle it better and periods where I’m not as good and when people around me get affected it’s harder for me to handle but I’ve kept away from social media for a bit. Now that I went to Paris it was because i wanted to and I didn’t share it on social media but people found me there anyway and wanted to talk. It was beautiful
I: And the future? Do you get people contacting you from other countries asking you to be part of things?
E: If only it was that simple!
I: Not really, I’ve signed with an American agency in autumn 2021 and I’ve worked with them for a while now. That work continues and I talk about projects abroad continuously and they will come. I’m trying to not stress it.
I: Sounds smart.
E: I think so. To think sustainable. At the same time, the industry is very global and you can reach an international audience with stories from Sweden. It doesn’t hurt to do projects here that I want to do. At the end of the day it’s about the story, and portraying characters. It doesn’t matter where. It’s about working with talented people.
I: Are you rich now?
E: Yeah, I’m doing well money wise. Maths was never my subject so I struggle to be on top of that myself.
I: But with the third season, were there opportunities to negotiate?
E: Eh...I’m pleased with my economy. But of course, since this has been so successful you are in a better position to negotiate. But ti’s not about money for me. It’s never a factor in me saying yes or no to a project.
I: We talked a bit about the US and reaching out with a story. But when it comes to acting, how do you improve apart from working on things, you’ve worked alot, the abyss among others. BY the way do you remember your first project on Svt? Mannen under trappan? 3x1 hours you told me. Do you remember? How old were you?
E: I was five, I do remember parts of it. It was my parents that pitched me and handled everything. THey have always supported me in all my decisions. If I didn’t like it I didn’t have to do it. It’s supposed to be fun and feel right. I’m thankful for that and it carry it with me. Even if it was a dark story, it was a thriller, and Jonas Karlsson had schizophrenia, his character. I remember it s fun. There was a trampoline and we got candy when we worked at night. We played. We had a fantastic director that unfortunately is no longer with us, Daniel LInd Lagerlöf. He was great with us kids, it was me and Johanna Hintze that played the kids. I remember it as a fun experience.
I: It made you want to do more?
E: Yeah, evidently.
I: About improving, and your tools as an actor, do you work on that? BY working?
E: In a way you do...in recent years I’ve started to spend more time with the people I call the future of the industry. Actors from Royals...other co workers. I surround myself with people that are driven and ambitious and want to improve. It's a good thing because it makes me want to improve as well. You have drinks night and improvise scenes, it comes back to that naturally because everyone is so ambitious, You get inspiration right from the street. That woman for instance, she’s talking in her phone and she has 100 things going on in her life, she’s getting inside the car... things like that you pick up. You pick them up when you improvise and then you bring it along to set. It’s a craft which I love and die for. It’s amazing and you get obsessed with it.
I: So Friday night, you and your friends, drinks and improvisation.
E: Totally. You let loose. The people I surround myself are very driven and want to write their own things. Felicia Maxime comes to mind, we’ve done Young Royals, Avgrunden and A part of you together. Amazing actress, and also a script writer and director and very driven. She pushes me to let loose and improvise things. We can have coffee or drinks and brainstorm ideas and we can spend an hour in character and it’s wonderful.
I: Do you write anything?
E: I’ve gotten closer to that in recent ideas and have had ideas in my head that I write down. I recent year I’ve concretised them and written them down. It’s alot of fun but very hard. Then it’s good to have people around you that are experienced who I can learn from. I’m a person that puts alot of expectation on myself and can struggle to admit that I don’t know as much as the people around me and it’s been a process to get to a place where I can trust that I just need to learn more.
I: To be vulnerable?
E: Definitely. I feel like I’ve learned alot about that and that I can be vulnerable in private but in my working life it’s hard. It’s an industry with alot of expectation and pressure and you need to get picked. It’s not surprising that you try to be tough. But you get far by being vulnerable because it allows you to learn new things.
I: You have alot of fans. People write about you and Omar, it’s intense, you’ve shot alot and you've been in other things as well. Is it hard to separate the private person Edvin and the actor Edvin?
E: Yeah I’ve struggled with that. I think it’s because in season 1 alot of things happened and quite intensively and I had to create a character and as soon as Young Royals is brought up that character starts working. It was thar character that answered questions and used social media, all that. And they kinda merged which hit me just recently. It’s been hard to separate. It’s not surprising that you have these different persons. You have your business self and your social self but it’s important to separate for your ow mental health and I work on being able to do that.
I: Do you have a bit to go to get there?
E: Yeah I think so and that’s okay. I will be in different situations, that’s what I work with, to be different characters and I do with with alot investment. You give it your all and dives deeply. It will take a while but I need to accept that.
I: So it’s the interview person here today. Not the private person Edvin?
E: I think you’ve gotten a bit of a mix; I feel like. I’ve been quite open with some of my issues. Congrats.
I: I have to say I got a bit surprise, seeing you in that Jacket from Paris, the blond hair and the trousers, it feels like you’ve toughened up.
E. Maybe I have.That’s interesting... maybe I have.
I: It’s only based in the image I have of you. I’ve met you once or so before.
E: I’m in a period of my life where I... I’ve also grown up on set and it made me grow up faster than many other people my age and now I’m in a period of my life where I experiment and I’m the same vulnerable person on the inside and I’m very adamant about being open about my feelings and I think it's very important but I experiment more when it comes to the looks.

Jennifer Crepuscolo admits she's a Nazi
Does anyone rememeber Jennifer Mezzetta, a.k.a. Jennifer Crepuscolo? She's the leader of a Theistic Satanist group called the Union of Italian Satanists, who Vice News wrote an interview article about back in January.
That article overlooked a very significant detail: the fact that their group contains several endorsements of Nazi ideology, and even contains some praise (alongside some criticism) for Nazi Satanist groups such as Joy of Satan and the Order of Nine Angles. @queersatanic wrote a thread on the subject on Twitter, and then I decided to write an article documenting as much as I could.
This got discovered by Jennifer herself, who then sent me a Facebook message basically accusing me of slandering them, and then claimed that she was planning to sue me.
And then of course I wrote a fresh response to that entire farce, even though it was extremely unlikely that she and her band of Nazi chucklefucks were ever going to pose any threat to me.
But why am I talking about this again? Because last night someone sent me evidence over Facebook that Jennifer admitted to someone, in private conversation (apparently someone she betrayed), that she aligns with the ideology of National Socialism (Nazism), along with the Right in general. Below are a series of receipts that are to be credited to a man named "Gundisalvus".
You might have to squint though, since they are somewhat difficult to read.
Here's a Google Translate of what Jennifer said just in case:
I am also informed that Jennifer has an admin team consisting of racist cyberbullies who, at one point, pushed a girl to suicide, and that Jennifer had a relationship with a man named Mandy Lord (one of the authors at the USI website; real name Giuseppe Crocchiolo) for seven years, lied about it in front of other people, and then the two of them violently broke up over a migrant. Her friend Paola is also said to have made false accusations against a migrant centre which that migrant was staying at, so you can bet that entire clique is just brazenly racist.
I remain confident that Jennifer never had any case against me before. But if she ever pressed on, I don't think it would take long for someone to see these screenshots and see Jennifer for the lying Nazi that she really is. I would thus renew my indignation against Vice News for writing their article about the Union of Italian Satanists while failing make any mention of their affilitation with Nazism and esoteric fascism.

Morning, Sunshine
A/N: Apologies for disappearing for two and a half months - life has been pretty chaotic and I’ve just been along for the ride as of late. I’m done writing for the Hunger Games for a bit - I have a small reaction idea for Obey Me plus I’m going to be ambitious and try to write something for Ryujin before the Itzy comeback, but we’ll see how far that ambition gets me. If you’re interested in a part two, however, send an ask or let me know in a reblog and I’ll happily move it up on my priority list.

Pairing: Finnick Odair x Reader (platonic but eventually grows to be romantic and slightly one-sided... for now :] )
Summary: A loving nickname given by your mentor when you were a tribute causes a butterfly effect that leads you back into the 75th Hunger Games as a much wiser person. This time, you realize that your affections for Finnick are more than platonic, but is it too late?

A simple nickname - that’s all it was supposed to be.
Your fellow District 4 tribute, as you were soon to learn, wasn’t a morning person. The morning after you arrived in The Capitol, you were greeted with the sound of the tribute loudly cursing out your mentor, Finnick.
What a lovely way to start your day.
You sleepily sigh before rolling over in the all-too-comfortable silk sheets provided by the Capitol. When you heard a knock on your door, you mumble an incoherent “Come in,” before sitting up in bed.
“Morning, Sunshine,” Finnick’s saccharine voice floated to your eardrums, “Did you sleep well?”
“Better than they did.” You vaguely gesture to your fellow tribute, who you can see rubbing their eyes before nearly bumping into a wall.
He chuckles softly with his blonde waves of hair bouncing in the air.
“C’mon, we’ve got a busy day ahead of us.”
Finnick taps the doorframe and offers you a warm smile before departing to round up the other tribute.
You manage to pull yourself out of bed and get ready for the day - the Hunger Games aren’t going to fight themselves, after all.

You weren’t sure when you grew close to Finnick, but it happened very suddenly. Despite his young age, he was a victor of the Hunger Games, and as charismatic as sin. The smiles spread wider, the stories became longer, and you became a strong competitor out of the pool of tributes.
Something Finnick had coached the District 4 tributes on, besides survival skills and fighting, was presentation and image.
“Be yourself, and if that’s not the image that the Capitol wants,” Finnick offers a not-so-secretive glance to your fellow tribute, which causes you to snicker under your breath, “perhaps being someone else for a few days isn’t a terrible idea.”

Interviews made you nervous - especially when it could be the last time that your loved ones saw you in your best clothes before they had to bury you a few weeks later. Caesar Flickerman did his best to make all of the tributes feel comfortable, but as your turn approached, you couldn’t help calm the nausea in your stomach.
When your name is called, you calmly walk onto the dazzling stage where Capitol citizen gawk at you like you are an animal on display. You nervously blink and approach Caesar, who offers you a smile.
You find yourself stumbling over your words and blinking a lot, but the crowd seems to enjoy the display that you’re putting on. You can’t tell if they’re mocking you or not, but they’re eating every word up.
You start to tell stories of your youth, your experiences in District 4, and finally, with the story of how you woke up a few mornings ago.
“I quite like the name Sunny, it suits you.” Caesar says as you smile. “Don’t you agree?”
When he gestures to the crowd, they go wild as a brighter smile rests on your face.
“Thank you, Caesar, it’s been a pleasure.” You shake his hand before waving to the crowd.
“No, Sunny, the pleasure is all mine.”

Finnick genuinely smiles at you with proudness shining in his eyes as Mags hugs you.
“All you’ve got to do now is keep up that ‘good kid’ image for the entire Hunger Games - think you can do that, sweetheart?”
Your stomach does a flip, but the nerves from your interview earlier in the evening are still making your head buzz and your stomach queasy, so you can’t tell why you react that way.
“I think I can manage.”

The Capitol’s Darling Little Sibling.
Sunny.
Those names had completely erased the one you had used before entering - and later, winning - the Hunger Games. Luckily, your involvements with the Capitol were limited to charity events and special galas, so you didn’t come home with the sour look that Finnick had on his face after he visited the Capitol.
You and Snow had an agreement - if you continued this charade for the rest of your life, you’d be free to live as a Victor and enjoy life post-Hunger Games.
After the announcement of the 75th Hunger Games happened, you nearly came storming into the Capitol to tell President Snow a piece of your mind.

Annie Cresta’s screams from a house over still haunt your memory, even though Finnick was there to comfort her. You didn’t want to bother them, so you found yourself in the company of Mags with a wine glass in your hand.
“I can’t-,” You pause before shaking your head, “I can’t let Annie go through that again. She won’t be able to come back to us.”
Mags takes your hand and points at herself with the other. Tears glisten in your eyes as you set aside your wine glass and take both of her hands in yours.
“I can’t let you go in either, Mags. It has to be me.”
You press your head against Mags’, and she combs through your hair with one hand as you look into your eyes. The same thought lingers in your brain as she pulls away from you.
“This stays between you and I, okay?”
Mags imitates closing her mouth with a lock before throwing away a key, and you laugh.
“You get me, Mags - I hope I have more moments to spend with you in the future.”

“Annie Cresta.”
You watch Annie nearly crumble to the ground with a hand over her mouth, so you take Mags’ hand with your left and raise the other hand in the air.
“I volunteer as tribute!”
The crowds screams and whoops as you let go of Mags’ hand and glance towards Annie. The relief is unspoken between you two, so you simply nod before approaching Finnick.
“Please tell me you’re not mad.” You mumble under your breath as you take his hand in yours.
His hands are warm, soft, and, more importantly, what you shouldn’t be focusing on in this very dire moment.
“I had a feeling it would be you,” He softly answers before raising your hand in the air along with his, “but hopefully you won’t have to kick my ass in the arena.”
You stifle a laugh as the crowd roars and chants your names together.

“The Girl on Fire is pretty hot to the touch, huh?” You tease Finnick as he climbs back into the carriage with you. “Not everyone is susceptible to your charms, after all.”
He nudges your shoulder before offering you a sugar cube.
“Does that include you?”
You bite your lip before smacking his bare shoulder.
“Don’t get any ideas, pretty boy,” You jokingly say, “you need to focus on the Hunger Games, first and foremost.”
“So you’re going to charm Katniss Everdeen?” Finnick chuckles as you chew on the sugar cube that he hands you. “Good luck, then.”
“I think you’ll find that I can charm anyone and everyone, including you, Finnick.”

In the training room, you keep to yourself, your fish hooks, and your thoughts as you tie a knot to secure the hook to your makeshift bobber.
You were let in on a revolutionary and, if you were being frank, one-in-a-million chance of escaping the hell that you’re currently trapped in. It involved one mission - getting Katniss Everdeen out of the games in one piece.
That, unfortunately, would be impossible unless someone could manage to gain her trust and-
“It’s beautiful.”
Katniss’ voice breaks you from your thoughts, and you shyly move so she can see what you’re working on.
“I saw you volunteer for that girl - it was really brave.” She continues as you feel her gaze study your every movement.
“We put ourselves through the worst torture for the ones that we care about.” You wistfully say before offering Katniss a welcoming smile.
“But Prim was my sister-“ She pauses, noticing the way your eyes soften, before continuing, “Can you… can you teach me how to make a fish hook like that, and I’ll teach you how to hunt?”
You bow your head in shame for a moment.
So she saw me struggle with hunting in my own games…
You look up before nodding.
“The devil’s in the details,” You move aside once again so she can get a better look, “so you need to pay close attention, alright?”

“She trusts you,” Haymitch says in between drinks of whiskey, “so the only problem you have to deal with is keeping her arrows from making their way into Finnick’s chest.”
“She can’t be that bad, right?”
Haymitch chuckles under his breath.
“Just keep an eye on her, and I’ll do what I can.”

“Sunny?”
“Finnick.” You sleepily mumble before gently moving to make room on the couch.
“You should be sleeping.”
“Too much to think about.”
You hear him sigh before settling into the cushion next to you.
“Are you worried about-“
“Is it that obvious?” You look over at Finnick as he teasingly smiles at you.
“You never could hide anything from me, sweetheart.”
Your stomach fills with nerves, but you’ve been on edge from the idea of going back into the arena, so you brush off the notion that you may be in love with-
“Just promise me that you’ll be safe.” You slide your hand next to his, and without any hesitation, he takes your hand and gives it a slight squeeze.
“For you?” He chuckles softly before looking away, “Always.”

You pull your stylist into a warm hug as they tearfully wish you the best. They’ve been styling you since you first arrived in the Capitol years ago, and a part of you will miss the people who helped you be Sunny while working for the Capitol.
I can’t think about that right now.
You pull your head back into the games as you step on the pedestal that’ll put you into the arena.
You’re nervous for Peeta and Katniss - you can’t imagine how scared literal teenagers are about facing off against seasoned adults - but a part of you worries for Finnick as well. He’s a vulnerable person underneath the charisma, charms, and flirting, and if the Capitol gets ahold of him, you’d-
You wouldn’t let that happen. You’d happily put yourself in harm’s way if it meant that Finnick would be safe.
In that moment, you remember why they call you Sunny: you’re warm and protective, especially towards the ones that you love.
Love.
You do love him.
And then the pedestal shoots you into the arena.

Wilhelm, The Look (™), and Endings
The recent poll on the confessions blog about the ideal end of the series (King Wilhelm vs leaving the line of succession vs the end of the monarchy) got me thinking about endings. In trying to think of what my own answer to this question was, I ended up reflecting on the way that Season 1 and 2 end, and that got me thinking about the infamous straight-to-camera Wilhelm looks that bookend each season. I’ve always loved those moments and found them crucial to the visual language of the show, but I don’t think I’ve ever really stopped to analyze why. But if I’m trying to decide how I feel about the possible endings of season 3, I should probably stop and figure out why I feel the way I do about the ending (and beginning) shots of season 1 and 2, right? So let’s take a minute and talk through these shots, and what I think they do for story structure and Wilhelm’s character.
I think the main thing those glances to camera do are establish Wilhelm as a protagonist with agency. Just for a second, he’s aware that he’s being watched, and that awareness means that he’s going to make active choices about what happens during his story. I think this makes sense when we realize that the first look to camera happens when Wilhelm is giving his first press interview. Wilhelm has always been in the public eye as a member of the royal family, But this is the first time that the attention of the press has been directed directly at him. It’s the first time that he has been asked to answer for his actions, and the first time he’s had to take responsibility for something like an adult. The camera catches him right as he makes his first decision: to follow his parents’ wishes, do the press conference, and go to Hillerska. It’s not a look of rebellion so much as it is a look of acceptance. All the growth that comes after as part of season 1 comes as a result of the awareness that starts in that moment. I think it’s significant that the gaze at the end of season 1 comes right after Wilhelm has made a very similar decision to the one he made in episode 1. Once again he has obeyed his parents, given the statement to the press that he was supposed to give, and toed the party line. It’s only in the fourth wall break that we know that something is different. We see all the rage and disappointment and heartbreak he has in that look, and we know that moving forward something is going to be different. But the season ends simply on this promise, and doesn’t let us see the payoff. Before we knew whether or not we were getting a season 2, I remember thinking that season 1 felt like a complete story (if not a happy one) but I would be mad if we never got to see all that Wilhelm was promising us come to fruition.
I think the gazes in season 2 function in much the same way– they emphasize Wilhelm’s agency and show us how much he changes over the course of the season. At the beginning of the season Wilhelm is literally ready to burn it all down, as he stares at us in the mirror as he burns August’s photo. But the look we get at the end of episode 6 is much more calm and confident. He’s taken the rage that fueled his initial revenge quest against August and turned it into the bravery he needs to tell the truth on his own terms. This last look once again acts as a promise; Wilhelm is swearing that he will live authentically, no matter the consequences. But once again the season ends before we have a chance to see him follow through. We know that there will be a whole host of difficulties that arise from his confession, and that last look gives us the confidence that Wilhelm will rise to meet them. But we don’t see any of that, or at least we won’t until season 3. The fact that the season ends here really emphasizes that what was most important about the season was Wilhelm’s growth. The fact that he grew to a point where he could give the speech and stare down the barrel of the camera with confidence meant that the story the season was trying to tell was complete, even though we might expect a longer denouement. I know it’s common fandom knowledge that there was at least one additional shot filmed, of Simon and Wilhelm walking away together. So I think it’s significant that in the edit Lisa and Co decided to end on The Look (™) instead. I don’t want to suggest that the Wilmon relationship isn’t hugely significant to the show, its ending, or to Wilhelm. It is, and I think that’s represented when they lock eyes right before Wilhelm’s final look to camera. But there’s something about Wilhelm growing just enough to tell the truth in front of everyone that means that this chapter of the story is now closed, with no additional Wilmon scene needed.
The other thing that first glance does of course is establish us, the audience, as part of the public that is watching and judging Wilhelm. We’re in the audience for the press conference he gives at the beginning of season 1, and we’re in the stands watching him give the speech at the end of season 2. The relationship this creates between Wilhelm and the audience is really charged. Those looks create an intimacy which makes us care about Wilhelm as a character. But they also implicate us as part of the reason why Wilhelm is always being observed. We’re part of the oppressive force Wilhelm has to deny in order to live truthfully and claim his agency. When Wilhelm looks into the camera he’s defying *us*. He’s daring us to stop him from getting revenge on August, or disobeying his mom, or telling the truth about the video. We’re brought in as co-conspirators in the same moment that we’re sized up as an enemy.
Circling back to thinking about season 3, I think it’s a fair guess to assume that the season will begin and end with The Looks (™). I also expect that the last moments of season 3 won’t tie up every single loose end, much like the end of season 2 didn’t address the fallout from Wilhelm’s speech. I expect that last look to feel like a promise, like Wilhelm saying “I’ve got it from here.”
In general I’m not huge on making super specific predictions. But if I were to guess how season 3 will end, I would predict that any questions about the larger fate of the monarchy will not be answered fully by the show, and will instead be covered by The Look (™). I think this holds true whether or not Wilhelm decides to remain in the line of succession, but that his character arc will feel most complete if he makes the decision to leave.
If Wilhelm does make the decision to leave the line of succession and this does have national implications, I don’t imagine that we’ll see them fully play out. Wilhelm growing enough to leave will mean that the story that Young Royals is telling is complete. After a lot of consideration, I think this is my desired outcome for the show and my best shot at predicting the general shape of the season 3 finale. I want Wilhelm to grow enough to leave (with Simon) and I want the show to end with us confident that he’ll be able to handle the consequences of that decision, even if we don’t see them all play out.

Helluva Boss' Worldbuilding is Awful
This is going to be a different post than what I normally post. It will be a bit more negative than how I normally word things but I want to get my thoughts out there since it's something I've been hyper fixating on for awhile.
Helluva Boss is a web series on YouTube currently in its 2nd season created by Vivienne Medrano, it serves as a spin-off of her other creative property Hazbin Hotel which was recently picked up by A24 and will air its first season on Prime next month. I wanted to discuss the worldbuilding of Helluva Boss, how and why I think it doesn't work, and why that hurts it's storytelling. This essay isn't meant to be only dunking on Viv or people who still love the show, I'm not writing this to be mean. I'm writing this because I do have a soft spot for these shows, Helluva Boss S1 is a comfort show to me and Hazbin was my first foyer into indie animation. I respect Medrano for what she was able to accomplish with her shows and I write this as my own form of a love letter to the show that I want so badly to improve and be the best it can be.
The Hierarchy
Both Hazbin and Helluva take place in the same universe and are set in the same location, Hell. Hell is a concept that's been around for a long time and has had several stories written about it, it has multiple different interpretations and depictions throughout the years. Medrano's version of Hell seems to be based on Dante's Inferno version of Hell, a story that depicts Hell as having multiple layers with the sins being condensed to their own rings. Medrano's version only has 7 rings as opposed to Dante's 9 rings, one ring for each of the 7 deadly sins.
Medrano's Hell is depicted as a hierarchical society with very strict rules that those within the hierarchy must obey. Those at the bottom of the hierarchy are treated like garbage by those above them, with very little one can do to transcend the position they were born into. Furthermore, dating someone underneath you in the hierarchy, especially if you're higher on it like in the Ars Goeita, is seen as disgraceful and disgusting. The hierarchy is depicted below:
This hierarchy, as confirmed by Medrano in an interview and further established in Helluva, is the official ranking of the denizens of Hell. It seems fine until you realize that the Sinners, former humans who sinned in life and got themselves into Hell, are above all of the Hellborn in status. The reason it doesn't really make sense is because Hell is meant to be a place where sinners are tortured for eternity for their sins, with the Hellborn usually being the ones doing the torturing. So why are they above the Hellborn? Why do mortal souls outrank those of actual demons? We're never given an answer for this, it's really odd.
My other problem with the hierarchy is that its established rules are often broken and bent when the writers feel like it. The most prominent example is when it comes to Higher Demons having relationships with Lower Demons. In the first season; Blitz, an Imp, someone at the bottom of the hierarchy, and Stolas, a member of the Ars Goeita and a Prince, being in a sexual relationship with each other is seen as disgusting and shocking by those around them.
When Stella is calling Stolas out for cheating on her she seems more upset that it was with an imp, with most of her insults being based around that.
"Do you want to fuck this one (referring to their imp butler) too?!" - Stella (S1E2 LooLoo Land)
"Fucking IMP SUCKER!" - Stella (S2E4 Western Energy)
When Stolas and Blitz are called out in Ozzie's for their relationship, the characters don't seem to point out that he's cheating but again, who he's cheating with.
"ARE YOU SLEEPIN' WITH AN IMP?!" - Wally Wackford (S1E7 Ozzie's)
"Whew! My dark lord, how the mighty do fall." - Asmodeus (S1E7 Ozzie's)
All of these moments make it clear that having a relationship with someone outside of your social class, especially those at the literal bottom of the barrel, is frowned upon heavily in Hell's society.
So why are Ozzie and Fizz, and also Bee and Tex, able to be so public about their relationships and nobody cares?
Tex, a hellhound on the same level of status as the imps arguably even lower, is dating Beezlebub, a Deadly Sin and queen of the Gluttony Ring. They don't hide their relationship at all, with Tex introducing her as his girlfriend at a public event and Bee acting very lovey-dovey to him in public. Shouldn't there be a scandal about this? The class difference is arguably more than Blitz and Stolas, with Stolas only being a demon Prince, Bee is a Queen and she's dating someone whom most of Hell considers to be little more than actual pets. No one looks at them weird or even makes a comment about it?
Fizz and Ozzie are in the same boat, a deadly sin, the King of Lust is dating an imp. They at least somewhat point this out in the universe (Newspaper articles of Ozzie being a hypocrite and characters calling their relationship the worst-kept secret in Hell) but they don't get nearly the same amount of venom and societal ridicule that Stolas and Blitz got. When Asmodeus confirms in front of an entire crowd of Hellborns at Mammon's Clown Pageant in S2E7 MAMON'S MAGNIFICENT MIDSEASON SPECIAL, the crowd is... extremely accepting of it. With all of them cheering for Fizz and Ozzie and Mammon seemingly being the odd one out when it comes to ridiculing them for their supposedly forbidden love.
So what's the deal? Are higher demons and lower demons forbidden from dating each other or not? Because of how the show is written, it seems like it's only a problem when it's Stolas and Blitz. It's one example but still a glaring inconsistency in the worldbuilding that leaves several fans confused.
Hell not feeling like Hell
So outside of the hierarchy posing its own issues the actual setting also poses its own issues. A common criticism I've seen of Helluva and Hazbin is that Hell is just "Earth but red" and I'd have to agree with that honestly. You could replace the setting of Helluva as a group of assassins running a business in a major city like Los Angeles and change Stolas to being just a shady rich corporate backer and very little about the plot would change.
I'll just rapid fire some things that Hell has that make no sense in a place that's supposed to be evil, lawless, and a place of eternal suffering:
Fire Fighters
Hospitals that even lower classes can use.
Jails and Cops?? (What the fuck)
A fucking priest, officiating a wedding with a bible which implies there's a Hell Christianity?
Weddings and marriages that seem identical to Earth ones or Christian marriages (wouldn't Hell hate marriages for how they're tied to religion and God?)
Fucking Courts.
If these were one-off gags or something mentioned only once, I could let it slide. (Like Millie and Moxxie being married or Stolas and Stella getting a divorce) but when you drag out these plot points or repeatedly show things that make your world just feel like Earth but with a new coat of paint on it, It begins to feel like your world is just Earth but with a new coat of paint on it.
The worldbuilding in Helluva Boss feels like the worldbuilding in Cars where it just leaves more questions than it answers. (Why are sidewalks a thing in a world of sentient cars? They show an American flag so does that mean that the Car Civil War happened? THE POPE IS HERE IS THERE A CAR JESUS THAT DIED ON THE CAR CROSS FOR OUR CAR SINS??)
What is Demonic Law?
In Helluva Boss, the business the characters run is stated by multiple characters to be illegal. There are demons permitted to access the human world and imps are not one of them, making their business illegal. I.M.P's use of Stolas' grimoire is illegal it is not meant to be lent out to anyone, especially not to imps, Stolas even says so himself in S1E5 Harvest Moon. Stolas later affirms that the Imps need to be careful because if they get caught it could land all of them in trouble in S1E6 Truth Seekers:
"How the fuck did you get caught!? Were you not being careful? If you get in trouble I get in trouble!" - Stolas (S1E6 Truth Seekers)
So what's the deal with Stolas in S2E6 waltzing up to a DEADLY SIN and basically admitting that Blitz's running an ILLEGAL BUSINESS AND HE'S AN ACOMPLIS TO IT?? Asmodeus just... doesn't care that this demon prince just admitted to breaking demon law? Also, Blitz can advertise his business without worry that it could bite him in the ass, no one else at I.M.P. is concerned that they're running an illegal business that could land all of them in hot water? No one questions why a bunch of imps have access to the living world even though they're not supposed to?
Another thing they set up is Human Disguises, in S1E3 where Loona calls them out for going to the human world without using human disguises, making a big deal out of it. Whenever Loona goes to the human world she wears a human disguise as well as Verosika, her squad, and Stolas in S2E2.
"A human called me a possum! I am NOT a possum!" - Moxxie (S1E3 Spring Broken)
The human disguise rule is so inconsistent, why do Loona and Stolas wear theirs in Seeing Stars when Octavia is wandering around without one and the most people do is give her weird looks. The imps run around fine without them and no one cares or can see through their bad disguises The humans in the Hellverse are too stupid to notice the literal demons so why even bring up disguises at all? Why have human disguises be apart of Demon Law if it doesn't matter?
Demons being ...Nice?
A common response to criticism of this show is usually "It's Hell.". While I've already gone over why it sure don't feel like it but what's weirder still is yes, it's hell. Why are some people so fucking nice?
Moxxie doesn't want to kill an innocent mother and seems pretty soft, Millie and Moxxie are incredibly loving and caring to each other, when Blitz is younger, he has qualms against stealing, then we've got Beezlebub and Asmodeus who, by all accounts, are just nice people.
Bee becomes concerned for Blitz when he begins binge drinking (Aka, engaging in her sin) at one of her parties and Asmodeus has an entire speech about why consent matters and how lust shouldn't be forced. I'm not advocating for Ozzie to be a rapist or for Bee to be a one dimensional bitch but, it really doesn't make sense for the literal embodiments of sins to be so nice.
On that same note, there are villians in this show that we're mostly supposed to hate because they're.. mean?
Glitz and Glam, we hate them because they're hyper-competitive and mean to Fizz, but they're demons? Shouldn't we expect them to be mean? Stella is an abusive screaming harpy and awful to Stolas and we hate her for it, but she's a demon princess? Shouldn't that behavior be normal in Hell?
Certain demons being nice is fine, and it can give them depth, but when every 'good guy' is nice and chill and only the evil or villainousxczxc characters are cartoonishly evil it starts to become apparent that it's writer's bias.
Conclusion
While this isn't all of the worldbuilding issues that exist within Medrano's Hellverse, it's the big ones that I have the most problems with. For a show that's supposed to be made as a way to further build upon the world of Hell, Helluva does a very poor job at that and at points is even detrimental to Hazbin.
What I mean is, if Charlie needs a backer to the hotel, why doesn't she ask Ozzie or Bee? They seem like they'd be down for it since they're surprisingly anti-sin. Charlie no longer feels special because she isn't the only nice demon, she isn't the odd one out anymore since a lot of Hell's leaders also seem to be pretty chill and nice.
Again, this isn't a rant or something that I made to dunk on these shows, I love both of them still and I want them to be better. For Hazbin and Helluva to live up to their potential and be the best they can be, no work is above being critiqued, it comes with the territory and I wish more of the fandom was normal about someone having negative feelings towards parts of the show's writing and to stop putting good faith and bad faith criticism in the same boot and backing that shit into the Hudson.

As the Attack on Titan series comes to an end after ten years, the cast is reunited in hosting a podcast, talking about their times on the set of the filming, their friendships, and all in-between.
And well, shenanigans are inevitable.

Armin: On that day, mankind received a grim reminder. We lived in fear of the Titan–

Mikasa: Hey, he enjoys it, let him be.
Eren: I shall obey.
Armin laughing: welcome! To the second episode of this podcast! Again here we talk about our time in the show Attack on Titan, and as you already heard her voice, our special surprise guest for today is the one and only, Mikasa!
Eren cheering: the queen herself has blessed us!
Mikasa: Well, thank you, I am happy to be here.
Armin: So for you who don't know, since everyone will be asking this in the comments, yes, they are a couple in real life, and yes, they did meet on set, and yes, they are engaged, you could've known all of that if you follow them on Instagram.
Mikasa laughing: I mean you could've announced it a little bit more cheerful.
Eren: yeah what's up Armin–
Armin: don't even try Eren, and I will be your best man, you really don't have a choice.
Eren laughing: Alright, Mikasa, my beloved, would you do us the honors of reading our first question?

Eren: Oh boy.
Mikasa: I do, actually, there were so many replicas of the scarf, because it kept tearing up because of all the stunts we were doing.
Eren whispering: she's the only one who did all of her stunts.
Mikasa shaking her head: and yeah because of the stunts, we had to have many scarves, which, I have them all. And before Eren starts complaining yes I do have them in our house–
Eren: They are everywhere!
Mikasa: But I am looking into turning them into pillows or something!
Armin laughing: you have a wedding to plan.
Mikasa: I know! I know! But hear me out, I do, in fact, still have the scarf from that very first episode.
Armin: awwww.
Mikasa: because it means so much to me, it started my whole career, and it made me fall in love with that guy over there.
Eren: didn't take long to charm her! A scarf was all it took.
Armin: genuinely still baffled how she said yes.
Eren laughing: hey what do you know about love? We were meant to be!
Armin: yes yes, actually, they are the reason why I still believe in love, they have something… that I've never seen before, they are the true embodiment of love and respect.
Eren: Is your goal making me cry?
Armin: no but genuinely sick of third wheeling you both.
Mikasa laughing: we never did that intentionally!
Armin: You literally left me in the movie theater the other day.
Eren: hey–
Armin: and didn't notice I was gone until you got home!
Eren laughing: you realize you're stuck in this forever.
Armin: yeah I cry every night!
Mikasa: save your tears for the wedding.
Armin: Speaking of your wedding, did you pick a dress?
Mikasa: well…
Eren: Hold on, you chose a dress?
Mikasa: I… might have.
Eren: alright let's end the podcast here–
Armin laughing: nope! Nope, sorry, I might have caused a couple to fight! I take full responsibility!
Eren: yeah you better do, and read this next question.
Armin: yeah so, again from Tumblr, we got this ask that says… who is your favorite titan? oh the female titan for sure.
Eren: Ok, that was quick.
Mikasa: yeah that was quick.
Armin: I mean, come on, the female titan is the coolest of all titans.
Eren: well my favorite titan is definitely my own titan, because that's the coolest thing of all time, and by the way, I think this photo did it's circulation around the internet already, but my final titan form, the whole head, was not CGI, the set designers actually built that, like the whole titan head, and the inside of it, for the final scene of my character, and it was so cool.
Armin: we had great talents on set, I mean, the set designs and all that, like, despite having all the generated effects in post, so many great locations and in-camera effects were shot on set, and all of it was absolutely mind blowing, they brought back filmmaking techniques from decades ago and merged it with current technology and the result was mind-blowing.
Mikasa: our whole village, in Shiganshina was built in a sound stage, and we cried when they had to ruin it for the third season haha.
Armin: yeah we did, I remember that, it felt like they were destroying our own home, it was ridiculous.
Eren: Mikasa.
Mikasa: yes.
Eren: What's your favorite titan?
Mikasa: well…
Eren: I know your answer.
Mikasa: it's actually the armored titan.
Eren: excuse you-
Mikasa: when we were kids, seeing it in the final movie and all that, for me, at that time, or even now, it was magic.
Eren: You betrayed me.
Mikasa: if you accept my scarves –
Eren: Accepted!
Armin: Alright alright, so the third and final question we have for today, Eren do us the honors?
Eren: Sure, so, again from Tumblr, what was your first reaction when you read the finale script for the first time? Armin has a good answer for this.
Armin: I do, so, we do read the manga, so we already knew the ending, but having the final script in our hands, in my hand, it was a strange sense of fulfillment. I mean, working on a project for over ten years, by the end of those years, you are excited to be done with this project and try other projects and explore more fields, but it's hard, it's not easy.
Mikasa: I like to think of it as moving away to college, all the fights you have with your parents and you just want to move away and you have this great fantasy of a wild college life, then you are hit with the reality and as the date of moving out comes closer, you want to push it away.
Eren: yeah, yeah, exactly, we are all looking forward to our next projects, and what life holds for us, but a huge part of us is still on that set.
Armin: yeah… you guys will make me cry.
Mikasa: aw, no, hey listen, we are still here, cheers to that?
Eren: cheers to that indeed! Also, by the way, Mikasa and Armin were the only ones to actually go to college and keep up with our crazy shooting schedule.
Mikasa: and we graduated with great grades.
Eren: ok ok you don't have to rub it in my face.
Armin: I'll be the first to sign a petition for Eren to go to college.
Eren: naaaah, that's just not meant for me.
Armin: well, we get to another end of our podcast, and we will meet you next time, with two special guests next time, tune in.

Happy birthday!
Thank you! I gotta say that this has been one of my best birthdays so far! I love how NRC celebrates birthdays, and since we had one yesterday, it's like one very long party.
That's right, we celebrated Riddle's birthday yesterday.
Yup! Me and Riddle are pretty similar in a lot of ways. Aside from our birthday's being one day apart, we're also the same height, and even some of our personality. I'm a big rule follower and pretty strict when it comes to my school work and grades too.
Are you two close?
Well I'm a Heartslabyul student and he's my dorm leader, so we see each other often. I'd say we get along pretty well, but I wouldn't consider us close.
Who are you close with?
I get along really well with Ruggie, Silver, and Idia. I'd consider them pretty close friends. Ruggie is always fun to do practically anything with, even if it's working jobs, he can make it fun. Silver is really easy to talk to and fun to hang around with. He's the kind of friend I know I can always count on. Idia is the one that I spend most of my time with tho. It's not intentional, but when you're playing your favorite game or watching your favorite anime, you tend to lose track of time.
What are your favorite games and animes?
Some of my favorite games are Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Pokemon, and Stardew Valley. As for anime...my favorite has to be One Piece. It's a very long one, and I'm not done yet, but I love it. I also like Black Butler, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Death Note.
Do you have any dreams for the future?
I want to become an author. I love writing so much, and I'm even taking writing college classes right now. I have a bunch of short stories that I've written and debated creating a separate blog for, but I'm unsure if anyone would even care about it. But I also have an idea for a book I want to write, so completing and publishing that would be my ultimate goal.
Speaking of your writing, how is your blog doing?
It's doing great! I say it often, but I never imagined I'd get as much support as I did. I'm really grateful to all of my followers who give me feedback and requests. I really love seeing their comments and responding. Hearing their thoughts, what they want more of, and interacting with them always makes me happy!
What's your most popular series?
Definitely my broken sibling relationship series. I'm honestly surprised how much everyone loves the angst. It started with Vil after a slight mention that I had an idea for how it could go wrong, but people keep wanting more. Those take a little bit longer to write than most requests, but I always love doing it.
Considering you've written so much sibling angst, if you had to choose someone at NRC to be your sibling, who would it be?
Oh man. That's a pretty tough decision, but I think I would have to say Malleus. He's pretty lonely most of the time, but I think if he had a sibling, he would be a bit happier. I firmly believe that Malleus would treat his sibling very well. Plus, I think growing up with him would've been very fun. I would've loved to be a part of Malleus' family.
Do you consider anyone in Twisted Wonderland your family?
I've accepted Crowley as my bird dad. I know most people wouldn't, but I do.
How are you enjoying Twisted Wonderland?
I love it! I've been playing for a little over a year now. I originally came to Twisted Wonderland through Obey Me, but I play more Twisted Wonderland now. I'm a proud owner of 25 SSR cards, and love the story. My favorite characters have to be Sebek, Leona, and Silver.
What are you talking about?
Don't worry about it.
Uh, okay. Can you tell us about your clothing style?
Sure! It varies from day to day depending of if I'm feeling more feminine or masculine, but lately I've been wearing a lot of Hawaiian shirts. My friend @l1ttleclouds actually made me an aesthetic board for my normal style. Take a look!
Nice! Are there any fun facts about you that most people don't know?
I always have trouble coming up with fun facts, especially ones that most people don't know. So I decided to come up with a few that people may or may not know; I love horror, I have a few succulents, and my eyes have two different colors. To clarify that last one, my eyes aren't two different colors, but each eye has two colors in it. Not mixed together, but separated. So about half of each iris is green, and half is brown. Fun!

Interview With A Hypno Siren
Part 1 - 2
I have the most ungodly annoying love, lust and desire for Brenton Thwaites to serve me for all eternity.
I finally get a chance to interview him on the set of one of my favorite show Titans on HBO Max.
He enters the room with a signature suave way he walks, a goofy smirk and those tiny luscious lips.
Bidding my time I place the mic on my shirt, watch as the camera crew does the set up, and I prepare for my interview.
Placing my questions down I take a mic so does he and I wink at the camera man to do as I wish.
Happily I start to speak to him asking him a series of inconsequential questions leading to nowhere.
He hits a high one last moment he is finding himself in absolute loss of confusion when his mind numbs.
He can’t do anything but stare back at me with lust in his eyes long gone are the many memories of his life.
A loud snap comes from my hand erupting in a crescendo sending the entirety of the crew into slumber.

What causes Shipwars
I am talking here about the ships EreMika and SasuSasu or NaruHina. I've heard that the Ship KenTouka also has this problem, but I don't know too much about Tokyo Ghoul. And it's about me that the fan wishes significantly influence the final composition of the couples.
With Attack on Titan, it struck me particularly strongly because at the end the story didn't make any sense to me at all. Roughly summarized: It was about the fact that Eren Jäger saw no other solution than to wipe out humanity outside the walls to protect his friends and family inside the walls. He was able to achieve this by getting Ymir Fritz to make her powers available to him. Ymir was a slave of King Fritz and Eren practically made her understand that she is free and no longer has to obey the royal family. the scene ended with Mikasa overcoming and killing Eren to stop further killing of humanity. And that's where I think the story should have ended. Instead.
But the mangaka used the last chapter to take the story completely out of context. Suddenly, the titan curse was lifted, because Ymir was in love with King Fritz and needed Mikasa to break up with him. So what Eren said was...meaningless. And Eren only murdered humanity, because he saw the future and couldn't find any other way. And suddenly he was oh so in love with Mikasa. Yes...
But then I wonder why Ymir released the pigs. So that's how she expressed her desire for freedom. And why she had so little will to live that she didn't regenerate after being wounded with a spear. Yes. She must have been in love with the king. Definitely... The chapter was celebrated so hard, despite the rude logic errors, because the majority of the community was EreMika shipper. But because the other side has generated so much headwind, the mangaka thought: I'll just put Mikasa in a new relationship with an unidentifiable man.
When it became loud, that the mangaka might have been persuaded by his publisher to end the manga with EreMika, this was painfully denied. Supposedly, Mikasa and Eren were about to kiss when the Grinning Titan attacked them. Then I wonder why it took Eren YEARS to ask Mikasa if she loves him. Never mind that he confessed his feelings to her. It couldn't be overlooked that she likes him. Apart from the fact, that there were hints in interviews, that the mangaka wasn't a particularly big EreMika supporter.
In the case of the Naruto series, the change in shipping was not significant. At least it didn't detract from the actual story. Nevertheless, you realizes that NaruHina cannot have been a planned shipping. No matter what the mangaka wants us to know. In the very first info volume of the Naruto manga, there was already a small hint that Sakura might fall in love with Nauto, might already be in love. It is also striking that Naruto's mother is very reminiscent of Sakura's character and background story and would have wished for her son to have a woman like her. Which Hinata definitely isn't. There are also many scenes that could indicate a soon-to-be-followed romance of the pairing. Especially because Naruto was obviously in love with Sakura. Hinata, on the other hand, seems very strange to him at first and he only sees her as his friend. Even after she confesses her love to him, it takes him until he even reacts to it.
In the last Naruto film and the sequel Boruto, attempts were made to make this pairing more logical. Namely, by giving Hinata freaks that were reminiscent of Kushina. Trying to implement a romance where there wasn't, and in return making the pairing look bad for NaruSaku by suddenly saying Naruto only fancied Sakura because she fancied Sasuke and he wanted to rival Sasuke... As if it If there weren't 100 other girls in love with Sasuke. First of all, Ino. In addition, elements that were previously used for Sasuke and Naruto were incorporated.
When allegations were made that the mangaka had changed his pairings in favor of his fans, it was said: No. Hinata was planned for Naruto from the start and Sakura was supposed to be a supporting character. As evidence, we were shown a picture of Hinata holding Uzumaki symbols, with Naruto sitting in the background. So. If there had been a picture of the two doing some couple activities. But that's not proof for me. But if Sakura should have been a supporting character. Why wasn't Hinata in Naruto's team? Why did Hinata have so little screen time and most of it with Neji? Why did Neji have to die? Why did Neji even have to play Cupid when Naruto loved Hinata from the start? If the mangaka had NaruHina planned from the start, he really paid very little attention to a believable romance build-up. No. I think NaruSaku, NejiHina and maybe SasuKarin were planned, but decided in favor of the fans.
And that's why there are so many shipping wars. Because the most popular non-yaoi shipping wins in the end. And why? Because the mangaka or, for that matter, the publisher, wants to sell the manga in the best possible way. And of course it makes more sense to then target the largest target group. In this case the EreMika and NaruHina shipper. Just. Then you should also be honest, stand by it and not hit and say: No. I planned it that way from the start. This and this is the proof. Then I ask myself why so much rubbish has to be added, in order the pairing make any sense at all. Basically, as a fan, I can stop reading or watching, if I ship a pairing that is not so celebrated by the majority of the community. Because I know exactly which couple it's going to end up being. And that's the sad thing about the story. Instead of putting value on writing a good story, with pairings that also make sense and were probably planned, they prefer to ensure that the work can be sold in the best possible way, and I just think that's a shame. And in that case, I have zero sympathy when fans go, burn manga volumes and merch and threaten the mangaka and his team. Because such fans will be attracted to such things as well. You really don't have to be surprised.

When Cassian sacrifices himself at the end of Rogue One, he has a clear and precise vision of what he’s doing and why this act is the only possible solution. It's a devotion to the cause and to the protection of innocent people that is remarkable and that he places above everything, even his desire to live.
[...] Depicting Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader organization as a multinational in which one can have a good career is a stroke of scriptwriting genius from Tony Gilroy. Thus, he very cleverly shows how fascism exploits the desire for recognition that gradually leads normal people to perform inhuman acts by simply obeying the orders of their superiors. It is by evoking this threat that still exists in our reality that the stories of Andor manage to entertain while encouraging us to remain vigilant.
THE PAST OF A MARTYR
Q: We know Cassian's heroic end in Rogue One, but how did you go from that sacrifice to imagining his evolution backwards in Andor?
A: It was one of the most interesting aspects of the series. When Cassian sacrifices himself at the end of Rogue One, he has a clear and precise vision of what he’s doing and why this act is the only possible solution. It's a devotion to the cause and to the protection of innocent people that is remarkable and that he places above everything, even his desire to live.
How does a man who started off as some sort of thug living from hand to mouth come to choose to do this? This is precisely what is exciting to understand by discovering what he experienced, and the psychological impact it had on him. I found that fascinating, because we started from the end of his destiny to develop a large part of his past by creating it from scratch. Well, not exactly, because I had already imagined things about him in my head to play him in Rogue One. But in Andor, we were able to clarify all this thanks to the work done by our showrunner Tony Gilroy, who is a fantastic screenwriter, and by the authors he has gathered around him. I must say that I really enjoyed the way Tony and his colleagues managed to write scenes that felt real and therefore I had no trouble approaching. Tony has this very rare gift. And I think viewers will also feel it when they see the show. What is really striking in these episodes is that we see what people are capable of during times of political crisis or occupation of their country by enemy forces, that is to say the worst like the best.
Several characters will discover abilities that they did not know they possessed and take risks to advance their goals. It's a long and exciting narrative journey that we're going to present to the public, and which begins five years before the events of Rogue One.
Q: What was really appealing with Rogue One was the decision to not involve Luke Skywalker, and to describe the process of organizing the resistance in a realistic way, from the political maneuvers of their allies to the clandestine actions to fighting on the battlefields. Were these the themes and the central subject of the fight against oppression that made you want to participate in Andor as well?
A: Absolutely. That's what seduced me in Rogue One, and made me want to play Cassian Andor again. At the time, when I learned that I had been chosen to play him in the movie, I couldn't believe it, or know to what exactly I owe this honor. It was only after reading the script for the movie that I thought I understood why my career as an actor and the marginal roles I had played may have pleaded in my favor to embody this man in this troubled universe.
I really like the realistic approach to situations and behaviors in Rogue one, to which Tony Gilroy had already contributed. We have this approach in the series as well, with a narrative of greater magnitude, and main characters whose trajectories are described in greater detail. I'd even go so far as to say that watching Andor can make you feel like you're reliving things from your own life. And it's surprising since the action takes place a very long time ago, in a galaxy far far away! (laughs).
The story of Andor focuses on the people, and how a revolution is built, thanks to resistance fighters who take terrible risks. I believe that we’re all capable of participating in justified acts of revolt, and that is why Rogue One appealed to a wide audience. I think Andor has the same qualities and the same ability to evoke things that resonate with us.
ECHOES IN OUR HISTORY
Q: You said that Andor's story has great relevance in today's context. Could you tell us a bit more?
A: George Lucas knows History with a capital H well and I think that when he decided to place at the beginning of Star Wars this text which announces that everything takes place in the past and in another galaxy, it’s in fact a great way for him to tell us about things that happened in the real world. Science fiction has always been a great tool for commenting on issues in our society.
When Star Wars was released in 1977, it was a good time to describe people who realize that a lot is wrong with their world, and who decide to take back control of their reality. Even today, we need to be told stories like that of Cassian Andor, that is to say, of an ordinary man who will be able to perform extraordinary acts to fight against the oppression. We can all be inspired by his actions to oppose what is unacceptable.
Q: You talked about the talent of Tony Gilroy, and also said that the team of writers he assembled by inviting Dan Gilroy, Beau Willimon and Stephen Schiff is one of the best working for television. How did you collaborate with them as an actor and executive producer?
A: I'm going to tell them that you mentioned their names paired with this enthusiastic description of their work, it will make them happy! (laughs). And I actually think it's the best team of screenwriters that we could currently bring together. They are amazing.
From speaking with Tony and reading what he's written since Rogue One, I understand his thought process, and I like the way he thinks and presents things. If I understood his way of working correctly, he usually writes very quickly from the moment he visualizes a scene in his head. I like the energy, the feeling of spontaneity and truth that it brings. We enjoy the same movies, the same kind of cinema, and he's a very pleasant man to work with. The other writers are terrific too, and executive producer Sanne Wohlenberg has done a phenomenal job of bringing great narrative and visual breadth to every episode of the series. She had previously produced the Chernobyl series, which was remarkable. I was already a fan of her work, and after meeting her I became a fan of her!
I am surrounded by very talented people. I like what they have to say and the way they express it. It's the best way to work. People respect each other, like each other, and that creates optimal conditions for making the series. Tony Gilroy's vision is at the center of it all, and I think viewers will be amazed at how much he pushes the realism of the characters' situations and psychological motivations. Each of them, regardless of the camp in which they find themselves, undertakes actions that are coherent, credible, and that evoke very real situations.
The series will give answers to any questions you may have about these characters and the rise of the Empire. We have all invested ourselves thoroughly to move in this direction. When Tony writes a scene, nothing is by chance. Everything has been thought out, has a meaning, a role to play whose consequences will only be understood later... To give you an example of his way of working, he first wants to know everything about where the action takes place, see the designs of its landscapes, its architectures, its industries, know the lifestyles of the inhabitants, etc. It’s only then that he begins to write a scene taking place there, based on the illustrations of the chief decorator and his team of artists, on the drawings of the head costumer, the designs of the chiefs make-up artists and actors' ideas…
The narration is the result of a very rich collaborative process. Tony is always ready to listen to an idea, always open to suggestions and he loves these interactions with people with very diverse skills. I am happy and consider myself lucky to be able to work with a showrunner like him.

Episode 70, 4.10 Heaven and Hell
If their ability to find an escape hatch out of this one irritated Chuck, I can’t help but imagine that’s at least part of what pushes him in 4.18 to “write himself into the story,” you know? When does Chuck ever show up in the story, when the Winchesters could really use a helping hand from a loving God? Nah. Well, maybe a little bit... but mostly it’s when they’re finding loopholes in the story-- the whole “we’ll find another way” rather than make this most awful choice the narrative has been pushing them toward. But that’s besides the point, because this episode isn’t about him :’D
Mostly what we learn about here is the intro to all the stuff that will underpin Castiel’s entire character arc for the next 13 seasons-- the nature of angel grace, what an angel is, what differentiates and what makes them similar to a human soul, and the oppression angels experience under Heaven’s rules of “obey or die.” Right there you get the foundation for Cas’s fear of allowing his “humanity” to blossom, and if you let me I’ll rant forever about why this alone makes his end in canon the ultimate tragedy. But I won’t do that today >.>
We also learn a little more about Dean’s 40 years in Hell and that he wished he couldn’t feel any of that at all-- the worst human emotions. He’d give up the good stuff just to not have to feel all that bad stuff, as Anna tells him even knowing what he experienced and feels right then is worth it to her, that she doesn’t want to give up any of it to go back to being an angel who can’t really feel any of it...

② What kind of presence did you think you have in the entertainment world during COVID? Also, what kind of communication were you trying to achieve?

① The animation short "Obey Me! Special Anime — Devildom Family Trip!" which was posted on April 1 (2021), left a great impression on us because of the great response it received from exchange students around the world, which could also be partly due to the day being April Fool's Day itself. We had received many requests for an animated series since the global English version was first released, so we were very excited that we were able to make it happen. It was also great that we were able to design bunny boy costumes for the brothers 🐰 We hope the bunny boys will spread further throughout the world 🐰
② The exchange students from all over the world said, "It's a difficult situation (where I live), but I'm glad to have 'Obey Me!' I can relax when I play "Obey Me!" and watch the videos," etc. When we received these messages, we learnt that the content we provide can have a positive impact on people in the pandemic as well. We feel that we could to continue to create more content for "Obey Me!" so that we can be a small pillar to make as many people's lives become more enjoyable as possible.
③ This year has been valuable for us with many firsts, starting with 'Otaku FM', followed by "Obey Me! The Boys in the House," the anime, the manga, and the opportunity to meet exchange students both online and offline. We would like to thank you all for your support, which has made all of this possible. Our team will continue to work hard to provide content that will make your everyday life more enjoyable with 'Obey Me!'
