初春の笑顔がいっぱいの宝船

3ヶ月ぶりの船旅のはずでしたが、
船の推進制御装置に不具合が認められたため、急遽、安全点検が必要になり運航を見あわせる事となりました。
残念ですが、安全第一！
またいつか共に船旅をできる日まで
予定していたセットリストと流れで、
空想の旅になれば🚢

The theme was “aboard the treasure boat + smiles”.
Have posted the setlist and tried to portray what it would’ve been like on the musical boat :)

衣装はキラキラな宝箱のようなサラスタイルを予定していました
マリリンのピアノアドリブにのって、スキャットしながら時々「春よ来い」のリフを。本編最後に繋がる。
そこからRiverdanceの神秘的な歌のイントロへ。
今回伊勢神宮の近くに行くということで、神様に近い音楽からスタートしたく。マリリンの綺麗なハーモーニでデュエット。こちらはアルバムにも収録していますが、よく聴きなれてる綺麗な3度のハーモーニだけではなく、4度が特徴的な響きなのでこれも神秘的に聞こえる理由の１つ^_^

そして、この曲はヴァイオリンのフィドル的な表現で軽快な世界へ。キラキラ、ニコニコ。宝石のような煌めきを放つアクティブな一曲。
サポーターさんなら、この曲の変拍子できっと手拍子をして下さったはず。色々なアーティスト、バンドのライブで手拍子する曲があるように、私もライブでそんなノリノリの曲があればなと思いましたが、こんな変拍子な曲を選ぶ何てドSとしか思えないですよね。それでも、これで手拍子できる皆さん、最高にカッコ良いです！(とはいえ、今後はもっと楽に楽しめる手拍子曲を作りたいと思ってますー^_^;)

海と宝ということで、ディズニー『リトル・マーメイド』より、アリエルが歌う「Part of Your World」。普段ライブで楽器も色々弾くので、この曲の「あれも！これも！」という場面ではそんな楽器の宝を指しています。
そして、この次のシネマ音楽にも「お宝」が。『The Greatest Showman』より、スターが歌う「Never Enough」。スポットライトを浴びても、星も金も手にしても、全て物足りない。あなたがいないと、物足りない。
私、今年初めて宝くじをやってみました(プレゼントで券？をスタッフさんから頂きました)。1億？あたったらどうするという話で盛り上がる。簡単に使えきる自信もあるけど、結局は本当に欲しいものはお金では中々買えない。因みに600円当たりました。
笑顔で始まる初春だから元気な曲多め。ジャズ出身のマリリンだからこそ、情熱的で踊りたくなる「Spain」へ。去年大阪でDream Caravanに出演させて頂いた時、久しぶりに寺井尚子さんともお会いでき、フルオケ+ジャズバンドをバックに彼女が演奏するSpainは最強でしたね！！とても勉強になり刺激になりました。もっともっとセッションをしてジャズを追求していきたいこの頃。来月２月呉・広島でのバレンタインはクリヤマコトさんを始めとしたジャズカルなので、ワクワク。
ここで一曲、オリジナルの弾き語り。
元々去年から予定していた楽曲でしたが、年始の心が痛むニュースとも重なる一曲でもあります。
「The Final Time Traveler」。ゲーム『タイムトラベラーズ』からのエンディングテーマは阪神淡路大震災に思いを寄せて作られた一曲です。こちらはゲームが大好きな羽生結弦さんとアイスショーでコラボさせて頂き、彼のサポーターさんをはじめ、ゲームをプレイされない人にも知られるようになった一曲でとても嬉しいです。オリジナルは日本語歌詞でしたが、海外で羽生さんが滑られるとのことで、英語歌詞を書かせて頂きました。

高音のサビの部分には本来歌詞を入れて欲しいと言われましたが、あえてAh〜だけにしたいとお願いしました。ヴォカリーズで、楽器のように、言葉では伝えきれない思いを届けられたら。
いつからかこの曲を弾き語りに挑戦するようになりましたが、ピアニスト、ミュージシャンに良く言われるのが、とても弾き語りするような曲ではないですねと。この曲、かなり複雑！伴奏ではなく、オーケストラの部分を演奏するような感覚。なので、毎回ドキドキ緊張する一曲です… ただ唯一、とても揺れる曲なので、それは自分で演奏すると歌と合わせやすい心地よさはあります。
この曲に「秘められたtreasure」という歌詞が出てきます。宝物、大切なものという意味ですが、英語の to treasure = 「大切にする」という動詞になります。
最後も笑顔で締めくくりたい。
第九は日本ではカウントダウンの一曲かもしれませんが、年始でも、どや^ - ^ これは去年のクリスマス・教会・合唱バージョンですが、ピアノとのデュオの時も、RnBからゴスペル、讃美歌からオペラチックな歌い分けが楽しい、人格がなん度も変わるJoyfulな選曲です。

本編ラストは、初披露のマッシュアップ。
元旦のフ��ミリー向けコンサートで初披露した「NeverEnding Story」 🐲でしたが、『初春』に因んで、こちらを「春よ来い」とマッシュアップ。編曲、ちょっと頑張ったのでこれはお見せできず残念>< 😖今回はキーボードでオリジナルの80年代ディスコサウンドを表現する予定でしたが、マリリンとも話して、少し変えてみて八ヶ岳でチェンバロでやってみても良いかもと思えました。
そして、アンコールへ。
「Smile」。定番ですね。ただの笑顔の歌ではなく、とても切ないCharlie Chaplinのタイムレスな作品。歌詞と真逆になりますが、悲しい時は無理して笑わなくていい、と言うのが個人的なスタンスではありますが。そんな裏の思いをこの歌詞に乗せて歌う予定でした。
今回のライブはいつも以上にお時間が遅い開始のものであり、美味しい食事とお酒で、船に揺らされてそろそろお眠の時間になって来たかと思います。
そんな簡単には寝かせませんよ。うふ。

オペラ『ツーランドット』より「Nessun Dorma〜誰も寝てならぬ」。我々ミュージシャンにとっても眠気覚ましになる壮大な一曲です。この後優雅に食事というところでしたが、これから代わりにサラメシを作りに材料を調達しにスーパーに行って参ります。この時間になると嬉しいシールが貼られる頃でしょうw ちりも積もれば山やまとなる。この場合この表現はあってるのだろうか…

Here's my take on the loki finale and why Mobius is the only one of the gang who didn't seem to have a conclusive, 'hopeful' ending.
Can't predict what the writers are thinking but the way I understand it is it's a hint that there's no version of reality where Loki is not there with him that will ever leave him fulfilled.
"Most purpose is more burden than glory," he said.
Others are shown finally having the choice to pursue their own "glory"/hope/ happiness. B-15 finds her purpose to lead and protect something she believes in, O.B. gets to live out his science fiction dream, writing a book of a place he now knows to be true and care about.
The end scene with Mobius and Sylvie is fascinating, for instance, because it shows the contrast between them both. Sylvie is different, she's reconstructed her own reality, found her own happines, lived a whole new life in the timeline without Loki or anyone.
But Mobius is the realist out of them all.
Mobius said before that he'd rather not know about his life before as it's easier not to, that the TVA is his whole life, that that's where he belongs. When the TVA changed, he finally left, but now he's there in front of the life he's supposed to have but he's in no hurry to go back, content to just "let the time pass."
I think he knows no matter which purpose he chose, whether at the TVA or getting his memory reinstalled back to him for a life on the timeline, there will always be a 'burden', something left lurking behind.
Maybe he realises he doesn't have a place 'he belongs to' anymore.
Perhaps it also dawns on him then, that it's never about the how (the TVA is changed now, no more prunings, no more sacred timeline, he would've done something he'd morally believe in if he stayed),
or the what (the jet skis, his garden, even his family, it could never be the same. It's incomplete, with all the burden of eons of memories behind him, and the lost of someone who made it possible)
or even the why (he's driven by 'the bigger picture', it's his one saving grace, the one thing he holds on to. He spent eons doing the same thing over and over, protecting the sacred timeline and what he believes to be true, when that turned out to be a bust, he turned his life upside down to protect his new purpose, the multiverse, but all of it is still to waste, they couldn't do it still, not without sacrificing-)
In the end, that wasn't what it's all about. The reason this whole madness started was because of one simple act of his, an insignificant character, to save someone, to be willing to take the leap in trusting one that everyone always dooms to fail. To tell that person, who never had anyone believe in him before, that they could "be anyone they want to be, even someone good."
It was never about the universe. Loki was right. It was never about the how, the what, or the why.
All along,
It was always about the who.

thinking about time lords and their fucked up little society again and i just realized how devastating the revelation of the drums in the end of time is in relation to the master's character.
because of all the renegade time lords in the universe, i think it's the master who most exemplifies the philosophical outlook that the time lords have towards the rest of the universe. they're stuffy observers, administrators, yes - but this position is one they've decided for themselves because of this concept of supremacy over other life forms. imposed and upheld this idea that other species that lack a time sense are less-than, primitive. and the master buys into this hard.
and i mean... compared to the doctor, the master is good at being a time lord. he buys into these supremacist concepts, this idea that every other species (and especially humans) is practically a meaningless ant in the grand scheme of the universe. takes it to the extreme, yes, but its the same underlying principle. he's a good student (despite whatever chibnall might think) - that one time lord from terror of the autons (identity forever a mystery) (its brax) even says "he did receive a higher degree of cosmic science than you." the master could play their game if he wanted to. he's remarkably comfortable with being on gallifrey/the idea of gallifrey(in eot/tlotl) than the doctor ever is. where the doctor avoids the subject of the lord presidency like the plague, the master is like "well if you kill the president you ARE the president! and then you have all of gallifrey!" and when the doctor destroys gallifrey (nominally), the master tries to rebuild it in the sound of drums/last of the time lords. tries to emulate their society. honor them in his little fucked up way. he brings them back from the time war!
and what does he get for it? how did the time lords treat him in response?
they decide to implant the sound of drums in his head, stretching back until he's a child. puts this insufferable noise, this splitting headache, in his head for his entire life. all so that they may live while he dies. because he is diseased, because of them. he has swallowed the pill, bought their propaganda, he has followed the rules, he tried to rebuild them he tried. and in response he is chewed up and spit out like trash so that rassilon's god complex can survive while the universe crumbles.
how crushing must that be to someone? to have your whole worldview - that you are better, you are chosen, you are special - come crumbling down in a few short moments? to see the revered founder-god of the civilization you have so desperately tried to revive look at you and say "you are diseased," even though he was the one to poison you in the first place?
and as his heart is torn to pieces... when rassilon says "no more," and charges his gauntlet, the master - who has spent countless lives fighting death with his bare hands - does not move.
part of me thinks he does not want to.

Tomarry AU where Harry knows everything but it's not because he is a time traveller, neither because he is a seer —
Pages and words have always been Harry's best friend. Living inside a cupboard did not help with his obsession. Rather, it was due to those pages that he survived. (He was 14 when he got his room instead of a bloody cupboard to sleep in.). The library was the only place Harry was able to hide from Dudley before they were sent to different schools.
When he was fourteen, and hiding from Dudley in the public library (he was mad that his gaming room was given to him.) he ends up reading a book he came to like very much.
It was a book about an orphan boy (like him.) who ends up going to this magic world (oh, how Harry wished) but sadly Tom ended up being hated there as well. Harry was awed by Tom's strength, but also angry (at the world how they let Tom down.) and angry at Tom for destroying himself to destroy what hurt him (or maybe he was angry at himself for not being able to do the same, maybe he was angry that he couldn't save Tom —) Harry was fourteen and it would seem he was angry at a lot of things.
(—that day Harry punched Dudley back after Dudley hit him. He didn't get to eat for a week straight.)
Jealousy is something he never let himself feel, because it wasn't a privilege he was given — not really. But one thing he was jealous of was the fact that Tom got to fly. (Harry wondered some nights — hungry and unable to sleep — what would he do if he got a magic letter? Would he have friends? How nice it would be to get to eat 3 times a day — how nice it would be to just fly away.).
Harry Potter loved Tom Riddle. Harry Potter also loved Lord Voldemort. The boy who died to be born as a monster. The boy who swallowed all the hatred so that he could hate the world in return (oh, how Harry wish he could burn down the world too sometimes — how he wish he could just hate hate hate and not care care care; maybe then he would finally stop trying look for approval in his aunt's eyes). Harry knew when started reading the book Tom was as cruel as he was strong. And he knew as he read the text, there would come a day Tom would burn the world like he was also burned. Even though he didn't agree with Tom's decisions most of the time he knew Tom. So yes, Harry Potter might not agree with Voldemort but he still loved him. And he wished that he could tell him that. Wished he could tell the man who was still a boy that wanted a family so bad that he stayed up for hours at night searching, hungry to find any living family there was, hungry for a belonging that he wasn't even deigned in the magic world. He wished he could tell Voldemort that no matter what he became, Harry would love him.
So imagine his surprise when he wakes up in a moving train — right after going to bed (instead of a cake he got a can of soup) the night he turned sixteen. Imagine how surprised as he sat there, in robes that he doesn't remember he ever owned. Imagine him freaking out that he got kidnapped as the door of his train compartment opened, and in came Tom Riddle.

a nice little stupid speculation to round off 2023; are we ready to talk about how crowley acted nonchalant about the metatron taking aziraphale away for a chat, but then immediately leapt up in agitation as soon as they cleared the front doors, and constantly looked out the window at them whilst talking with muriel.
are we ready to also talk about how maggie and nina came in to drop the bombshell that properly communicating with each other is going to be the only way they move forward, and how crowley takes this and immediately runs away with the half-cocked idea to confess his feelings to aziraphale.
are we then ready to talk about how he seems to completely forget all the concern and restlessness he was exhibiting about aziraphale being led away by the Enemy, in favour of launching into said confession.
im sorry, but is it completely in-character for crowley to suddenly go from prioritising, and stressing about, aziraphale's safety, to then suddenly being so overwhelmed with the need to confess his romantic feelings that he'd forget any of the concern he previously had? would immediately launch into confessing without even first wanting to know what the metatron wanted? idk about anyone else, but that suddenly seems... off.
even at the beginning of the end - "go on; day can't get any weirder." - 'weirder' seems like an odd word choice to foreshadow what was the emotional equivalent of a nuke. but what would be weird is someone forewarning him of what was about to happen.
my head keeps coming back to two things. one, that by my calculation (and therefore very much open to error), the clock in the bookshop throughout the whole of ep6 goes... weird, but it indicates that there is a 20-minute gap between metatron/aziraphale leaving, and aziraphale coming back. second, that there is still the questionable placement of the chair between muriel leaving, and the girls arriving. now idk about you, but crowley didn't seem at all surprised about aziraphale being offered to return to heaven, certainly not the same incredulity that aziraphale seemed to have; we don't even see his reaction to this part of the news:
in fact, crowley's horror seems to - initially - stem solely from the offer of restoration (and rightly so), and thereafter that this might be the swaying factor in making aziraphale actually accept - something that crowley previously thought inconceivable. so, frankly, im now starting to wonder if crowley - by some means 👀 - knew beforehand what aziraphale was about to be offered.
that he heard this warning, but was so confident that aziraphale would say no - of course he'd say no - that he brushed it off, and all that initial concern just melted away. that he instead kept holding that confidence, that belief that aziraphale would never accept it under any circumstances, right up until:
it's convoluted and frankly fantastical, and im perfectly happy to chalk it up to some kind of crack theory, but i don't think it's just aziraphale's behaviour that seems out of sorts in the final fifteen; i think possibly we might have been so overwhelmed with crowley's heartbreak that we might not have been paying close enough attention to him, too.

For anyone else who is gonna struggle surviving the next 3 weeks with the angsty and tense situation of Callowmoore here's a few things from the last 2 episodes that I feel were underrated and will assist in trying to keep me sane/emotionally stable:
- Matching messed up hands built for holding
- Fearne nervously playing with her hair as she approaches Ashton
- Ashton wanted Fearne to be either the last thing they saw if they died or the first thing they saw when they succeeded
- Fearne's admittance corroborates Ashley's 4SD revelation that Fearne is in love with someone in the party but doesn't know how to process the emotions
- Fearne wanted Ashton to be happy, while Ashton wanted to feel whole so they would be worthy of the Hells
- Ashton twice tried to lead a search for Fearne, and instantly clocking onto Chetney saying he followed Fearne
- Fearne making herself look as radiant as possible before giving Ashton the cold shoulder
- Ashton only rose to Chetney's provocations until he said 'You hurt Fearne'
