I've fallen down the rabbit hole for a book - Beartown by Fredrik Backman - and I'm never going to stop recommending it (the entire series, actually) to whoever listens!
It's not a happy book, check the trigger warnings before picking it up, but it puts into perspective so well issues that people everywhere have to deal with one way or another.
Don't be deterred about the hockey aspect - hockey becomes a character on its own, yet it never gets technical. It's about the people involved in the sport and the people around those people and about a small community that just wants to thrive.
We've reached the moment where there are Notte Stellata, Prologue & GIFT DVDs & Blu-Rays on sale.
For GIFT, there's even a special limited edition with melted ice from Tokyo Dome from the day of the performance inside a keychain. This is the craziest thing I've heard, tbh.
The shipping fees are humongous, I can't afford any of these. I don't have a DVD player anyway, so that's that.
Do you ever re-read something you wrote and are so proud of yourself? Like, damn, I wrote this. My brain and my fingers cooperated so well and this piece came out!
It doesn't have to be a masterpiece or a breakthrough. Maybe to the rest of the world it's nothing. But to you - to you, that thing you wrote, is everything that makes you so fucking proud for a moment
Turning pro was certainly a turning point for me, but it was not an end, but a beginning. I want to keep evolving and skating in the irreversible flow of time. For me, every single second now is an important turning point.
