I've really grown to dislike how most of the people approach s5 Jon (and Martin) time travels back to season one AUs. Because it can be sum up as "no one likes season one Jon, he's so stuck up and grumpy and repressed opposed to future Jon who is much more chill and more fun".

Because I don't think Sasha or Tim disliked s1 Jon? All their conversations seemed always quite friendly and relaxed? They throw him a birthday party. And Jon liked them and thought highly of them as well he asked for them to be transfered to Archives. He understandably disliked only Martin for lack of skills he should have had but did not.

All the negative feeling Sasha and Tim had against him came literally from them thinking Sasha should have been given the position of Head Archivist but that's it. They were even not so much annoyed with Jon but with Elias here honestly.

I would like to see some take when they are all weirded out by s5 Jon. I want season one archival crew bond over how they think s5 Jon is secretive and says ominous stuff all the time (And if s5 Martin is present as well I want them to be annoyed with his bitchy attitude.) Because s5 Jon and Martin could not anymore see the world through lenses on normal human and they would be all "We know what is best for you" while s1 crew would be more "No you don't. Not if you refuse to give us proper explanation. Stop acting like you know better, stop acting as we cannot take care of ourselves."

Since so many people seemed to like my Martin Time-Travel fic idea, I thought I might put out some other ideas I have for it:

Martin's insistence on ensuring that the archival staff remains as untouched by the Entities results in many changes with varying degrees of success.

These changes include Jon being attacked by Prentiss instead of Martin, Sasha surviving the Not-Them, but still having an uncanny valley vibe afterwards, Elias gets threatened, and Tim and Melanie make a mini documentary focusing on Jon believing Martin's a ghost and trying to debunk his theory like an episode of BuzzFeed Unsolved.

The AU starts on Martin's first day in the archives, and he realizes what's happening when he sees the dog.

Martin is absolutely giddy at the realization that he has a chance to fix everything.

Jon speed runs his S4 pining arc.

Peter shows up because of the new avatar of the Lonely that Elias keeps complaining about.

The Archival crew assumes Peter is Martin's father and no amount explaining will change that. Peter thinks it's hilarious and does not help things at all by referring to Martin as "son" and "my boy".

Tim doesn't die, but he does receive a lot of pamphlets in the mail about The Cult of the Lightless Flame.

Daisy and Basira don't join the Archives, but they do have a sort of alliance with Martin. They're suspicious of why he knows so much, but eventually he becomes something of an informant for them when they need answers. In turn, they look the other way when he implies he's going to do something illegal.

I love the concept of Martin and Daisy being Murder Buddies. May or may not utilize this.

Martin confronts his mother about her behavior and treatment towards him. A bridge is burned, but he gets closure.

I have a few other ideas, but this is what I've got for now.

tma au where s4 Jon and Daisy take Helen’s tunnels back to s1, and Jon literally cannot bring himself to have a normal conversation with any of the archive squad because he feels so guilty about... well, everything

also Helen finds s4 Martin and Basira after Jon and Daisy leave, and basically bullies the both of them into heading into her tunnels in an attempt to go after them

meanwhile, s1 Jon is having a fucking crisis and ends up purposefully going full-on avatar in an attempt to protect his friends, because s4 Jon has basically told them that everyone died and it was his fault

since Jon and Daisy are from s4 not s5, they don’t know about jonah’s eyepocalypse plan. this goes very badly for everyone involved
