As October descended upon Brooklyn, whispers of Halloween's approach filled the air. Your eyes sparkled with anticipation, and you couldn't contain your excitement for the upcoming festivities. But Miles, with a furrowed brow, scoffed at the idea, preferring solitude over celebrations.
Undeterred by Miles' grumpiness, you decided to transform his home into a magical realm of Halloween delight. His mother approved of your brilliant ideas, so the boys' opinion couldn't change anything. Armed with a vivid imagination and an overflowing box of decorations, you set out to infuse the flat with the spirit of the season.
While you took your time adorning his bedroom with ghostly figures, cobwebs, and some pumpkins, your boyfriend observed you from a distance, a skeptical expression etched on his face. Despite his reservations, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of curiosity as your enthusiasm filled the air.
Subsequently, you transformed the living room into a haunted haven. With Rio's help, you strung orange and black streamers, hung paper bats from the ceiling, and carefully arranged a display of glowing jack-o'-lanterns. Miles' grumpiness wavered as he watched your infectious excitement, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
As the evening came, you turned your attention to cute couple Halloween costumes. You spent hours crafting intricate outfits-a brooding vampire for Miles and a whimsical fairy costume for yourself. Miles grumbled about the discomfort of wearing a costume, but deep down, he couldn't deny the sparkle in your eyes, even though he tried to fight it.
"You're trippin, ma." The boy intervened firmly as he shook his head in disbelief. "I am not wearing that, no way." The sharp tone of his voice struck through your heart, slowly breaking it into pieces. You knew he wasn't the type to participate in adorable couple activities, but you didn't understand why couldn't he spend his time with you, at least during such fascinating time.
"Oh come on, Miles, why not?" You pouted, crossing your arms as you looked at him with a disapproving gaze. You were sure of his opinion, but deep down, you still had some hope, that the captivating season could soften his heart, even the tiniest bit. "It's like you don't love me anymore, Miles. You never do anything fun with me, we barely even spend time together. You're always out doing your 'important work', putting off our plans" You snapped at him, with slight wrath audible in your voice
"I get it, you might not be a fan of all those 'cringy' couple activities, but please, can't you enjoy your time with me for once?" You continued, your gaze shifting from his face to his torso. You could notice the confusion on his face, as you weren't the type to talk to him like this. "But alright, if you don't want to, I can just go out with someone else. You have fun here"
Miles made his way up to his bed, sitting down beside you, letting out a sigh, as he entwined his hands with yours. Staring into his eyes, you could see them filling up with agony, clearly hurt after hearing your truthful speech.
"Look, mami. I'm sorry I haven't given you enough time lately, you know, I just cant explain it. I want to keep you safe" Your boyfriend started the same answer you hear every time you would bring up his job. It was different though, he never really genuinely apologized to you. Sure, a quick 'my bad' or 'i'll do better' usually left his mouth, but you've never heard him say 'i'm sorry'. He put his head down as he continued.
"I'm sorry that you feel that way, you know I'm not happy about me canceling our dates either. I can dress up and go trick-or-treating with you, ma. I hate seeing you like this, I'll do better, princessa."
Miles stole a quick kiss on your lips, then on your forehead as he got up from the bed, reaching over to your Halloween costumes. His lips shifted into a soft smile as he felt a wave of warmth strike through his heart.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, you two emerged from his house, you adorned in vibrant fairy costume that shimmered under the moonlight. You fluttered your wings, casting a spell of enchantment that swirled around Miles.
Miles, reluctantly participating, donned a simple costume, a bloodthirsty vampire. Deep down, he couldn't resist your excitement, and a flicker of curiosity ignited within him, as you took the lead.
Hand in hand, you set off into the moonlit streets, where houses were adorned with cobwebs, glowing pumpkins, and haunting decorations. Children, disguised as witches, superheroes, and ghosts, giggled and chattered as they darted from door to door.
You, with your infectious laughter, skipped ahead, your voice like a melody in the night. Miles trailed behind, his grumpy attitude slowly giving way to the passion he hadn't felt in years.
At each house, children eagerly showcased their costumes, their eyes shining with anticipation. Your eyes danced with delight, and your laughter filled the crisp autumn air. Miles, though initially skeptical, found himself chuckling at your excitement, realizing that Halloween held a joy he had long forgotten.
As you continued your journey collecting candy, you arrived at a house unlike any other. It's porch was adorned with shimmering lights, and a melodious tune drifted through the air. You approached, your hand entwined with your boyfriends' and your eyes wide with wonder, and rang the doorbell.
The door creaked open, revealing an elderly man dressed as a magician. With a flourish of his wand, he produced a basket overflowing with candy. As he handed you a treat, he leaned in and whispered, "May the magic of this night bring joy to even the coldest of hearts."
Miles was taken aback by the man's words. Perhaps there was more to Halloween than he had ever realized. A seed of enchantment had been planted within him, sprouting into a newfound appreciation for the night's festivities.
Eager to share this newfound delight, Miles' coldness dissipated like mist in the morning sun. He engaged in playful banter with fellow trick-or-treaters, admiring their costumes and sharing in the joy of the evening.
As the moon reached its zenith, you approached the final house on your route. The porch was transformed into a whimsical wonderland, complete with floating candles and mystical creatures. Your eyes sparkled, and Miles' heart swelled with anticipation.
You knocked on the door, and it swung open to reveal a woman dressed as a fortune teller. Her voice was soft and melodious as she greeted you. Miles exchanged glances with you, feeling as though you had stumbled into a magical realm.
The fortune teller handed you each a small, golden envelope. "Open these when the clock strikes midnight," she whispered, her eyes twinkling with mystery.
With a sense of wonder pulsing through your veins, you and your boyfriend bid the fortune teller farewell. You made your way back home, your pumpkin buckets filled to the brim with sweet treasures.
As the clock neared midnight, you sat on the couch, in the decorated living room. With a hushed countdown, you opened your golden envelopes in unison.
Inside, you discovered handwritten notes, each containing a heartfelt message from the other. Words of love, appreciation, and gratitude spilled from the pages, filling your hearts with warmth.
You and Miles exchanged smiles, your souls intertwined in a magical moment. You realized that the true enchantment of Halloween was not just in the costumes or treats, but in the bonds that were strengthened and the love that was kindled.
As the clock struck midnight, Miles took your hand in his and whispered, "Thank you for showing me the magic of this night, ma. I'm sorry for being so harsh with you and canceling our dates so often. If they are as amazing as this one, it will never happen again." Your eyes shimmered with happiness and you let out a quiet laugh at his words.
Under the moonlit sky, the two of you shared a tender kiss, the magic of the night enveloping you. In that moment, you knew that love, laughter, and the spirit of Halloween would forever illuminate your lives, casting away any shadows of coldness that may try to linger.

There are many things that we foreigners do not know. But the Japanese know it.
What we have in common is an event that happened to Kaname, and also questions about his future and why he doesn't appear often, and his desire to bring Yuki back, and his love for Yuki, and Yuki, and her love for him, and her madness over his loss, and that the story of the Vampire Knight is no longer the story of the Vampire Knight. Also Because it no longer holds the same attraction when Kaname was around, because it has become an ordinary story
The Japanese are more curious about Kaname as much as we do
I'm happy about this
And also about Zero and Yuki's dating relationship before they got married
They said about Kaname that he is a person loyal to his own desires, if he wanted something to happen he will make it happened. He is someone who seems evil but has pure intentions towards the world. His desire to kill all vampires so that Yuki can live in peace and be safe in the world in which she shines. And he wanted to be by her side when she was human until she died while he protected her in the dark, but because her memory returned, he was forced to transform her, but he wanted to turn her back to a human, but his love for Yuki was so deep that he changed his mind and wanted to live with her. Even though he was tired of the life he lived for ten thousand years, yuki was the hope, warmth, and true love he felt, made him want to hold on to it, but his knowledge of the curse he lived with for ten thousand years made him say that the world he saw was different from the one yuki See's because of the despair he lived with. He wanted freedom for her. From this curse
After losing his memories, he was able to remember her name. This was evidence of the depth of his love for her and his desire to bring her back
They are still waiting for what will happen in the future
They said that Yuki was in love with Kaname during the time she was with him as a human or a vampire, and that she was attracted to zero because he was the second hero, but the feelings of love were there.
And what made them more connected was the blood they drank, which made them yearn for each other
But her desire for Kaname was more than anything. After choosing him over and over again until the last moment of their separation
In the chapter " love desire" they talked about Yuki's Hidden Desire
Yuki wanted to kill all the vampires to bring Kaname back. She became crazy because of losing him. When a pure vampire loses someone he loves, he goes crazy, but because Ai was born and Zero was by her side, she was able to act normaly and wanted to wait until she woke him up.
Her thirst for Kaname turned insane, but she had someone else by her side, which calmed her down zero's blood and that's why she thanked him for being with her
They said that Zero and Yuki's relationship was awkward, slow, and not worthy of much attention
But they loved that they were able to move forward together
they said that Yuki did not want a romantic relationship with Zero at that time, but because she was afraid of losing him, she asked to date him.
They also talked about Chapter 13 when Yuki was on top of Zero and Zero wanted to hold her or kiss her. She moved away from him because she did not want a sexual relationship with him yet, and this was confirmed to them after she confessed to him. When Zero asked her to tell him, she replied that she is afraid that he would die. because of what happened to Kaname. she was afraid of losing him too
And also about the chapter in which Zero was kidnapped, they said that Yuki's fear made her take a step forward in their relationship in order to obtain fruit from the tree that might die after years, as happened to Yuki and Kaname, Ai, was the evidence of their love for each other.
They also made fun of the last page when Yuki and Zero kissed. They said that Yuki had become pregnant from a kiss. Then everything became normal. Everything became expected
And also about Hino's comments on her illustrations in the first volumes
Hino commented. “I hope you don't think he's sleeping while eating the rose.”
The rose in his mouth is his desire for Yuki's blood
The rose on his chest Mean his love and longing for her
Tumblr media
Hino commented, "It expresses something different" about Yuki's obsession with Kaname, and that Kaname shows that Yuki is his only one, and Zero is obsessed with them and they are connected to each other. And that Yuki always holding on to Kaname is a sign of her obsession with him.

Before we start, a few bullet point facts to get out of the way:
•Jake and Bella are the same age (Bella is still older) and Seth and A.J. are a year younger than them
•In this Twilight fanfic universe, vamps and wolves who were changed before they turned 18 continue to age until they reach 18 cause I said so
•Jasper served in the Union
•My idioms or comparisons may suck but sometimes the only way for me to get a point across is to be extremely descriptive
•This story follows both the movies and books and may switch between the book’s timeline and the movies
•Proofread but not perfect
Also this story is Seth Clearwater x OC (?) Cullen based on my friend who requested this slow-burn fic, cause there are almost no Seth fanfics (the disrespect😤✊🏻). All chapters are named after Florence+the Machine songs cause me and my bestie love her stuff.

Without further ado…Chapter 4 of Shake It Out
——————————
“You going to play fair this time?” Alice asked as she stretch her left arm across her chest while standing at second base.
Emmett scoffed, twisting his back only a few away from Alice, “I always play fair.” The striped baseball cap was secured by him for emphasis.
As it thundered around them, seven out of the eight vampires were currently preparing for a game of baseball patiently, on some parts, awaiting Bella and Edward’s arrival following the Cullen's official introduction to her. Lucky for Bella, she was about to witness a sacred tradition in the Cullen household that started years before A.J. was around. It was something each vastly different personality could enjoy and gave each of them a chance to use their physically enhanced abilities to their full capacity.
Nine days after A.J. joined the rest of her family in Forks, Edward decided a baseball game was just what A.J. needed. The idea for a baseball game to ease A.J. into the new family dynamic, came to Edward after he caught A.J. reminiscing about a game-saving catch from her human years. Later that day, he approached Carlisle and proposed a game the next time it stormed, and naturally, Carlisle and everyone else eagerly agreed. So on the ninth day, when the forecast called for a thunderstorm and delivered, the Cullens played a heated baseball game.
During A.J.’s first game of baseball with the Cullens, the newborn broke out from the remainder of the barrier she had built up after her transformation. Being a part of the winning team, with star pitcher Alice, definitely aided A.J. in feeling like her old self. Easily the last ‘strike’ of her barrier, especially since striving to win and typically doing so, had encapsulated her human years. Along with the fun on that day, Emmett saw an opportunity to ensure he would always be on the winning team and jumped on the bandwagon; claiming the title ‘A.J.’s Coach’ after witnessing her skilled third-basemen skills.
“Nu-uh,” Alice exclaimed and placed her hands on dark leggings, “You totally lied about that ‘foul ball’.”
“I didn’t lie about the foul ball you hit.” the younger of the two Cullens smirked, “Ain’t nothing to be ashamed of, Alice. You’re just a crappy hitter.”
Alice gasped and smacked his shoulder, “At least I can pitch without taking someone’s head out!” she defended herself.
Emmett snickered before a smug smirk crept onto his alabaster skin, “Can’t help it, Wonderland. I’m jacked like Hercules!” he kissed both of his biceps after flexing underneath his navy blue tracksuit.
“Alright, alright, alright,” Jasper called out as he strutted towards the bickering siblings, “No fraternizing with the enemy.”
The Texan placed a hand upon Alice’s narrow shoulders which dawned a white baseball vest, and gently guided her away from Emmett with a baseball bat in his other hand.
By first base, a groan came from Rosalie that was bending down by the waist and holding her calves to stretch. The couple and Emmett, who were conglomerating near home base, turned their attention to her.
“You’ve watched ‘Dazed and Confused’ too many times.” the tall blonde gracefully swung her torso up to stand straight.
“No such thang’, Rosie.” A.J. quipped while flashing next to Rosalie with a moderately sized pink boom box in her sleeve-covered arms, “We Texans support each other.”
A.J. met eyes with Jasper’s, a mischievous glint in both their eyes to match their smirks. A silent conversation transpired between the Texans, much to the others' despair before they both resumed what they had been doing.
The youngest Hale gave Rosalie a friendly pat on the back and clicked her tongue before jogging off toward the right side of home plate where Esme and Carlisle were chatting. Her black backpack bounced off of her back as the wind pushed against the buttoned pinstripe shirt, which was similar to Carlisle’s, which was tucked into her black leggings. On her feet was a pair of hot pink socks that peeked out of the same dusty white sneakers she always wore when participating in any outdoor activity - provided an extra bounce to her step.
A ‘bleh’ left A.J. when Carlisle and Esme shared a sweet kiss just as she walked past them.
“I think I feel my teeth rottin’.” the girl swiped her tongue across her top set of teeth.
The lovers parted with a chortle from each and turned their attention to their youngest child.
“You know, Angel,” Esme sang as A.J. set the boom box down after kneeling a few feet away from them, “You might find yourself falling for someone like your father and I have for each other.”
A.J. shook her head as four of her siblings snapped their attention to their conversation.
“Absolutely not,” Emmett commented with a small frown.
Alice rolled her eyes at the overprotective brute, “Dating is normal and healthy; especially for developing teenagers.” she spoke with her arms crossed.
Rosalie stared at Alice, “She’s going to have to wait, regardless, Alice. There aren’t exactly sixteen-year-old vampires roaming around here, and we don’t need another reason for the Volturi to be on our backs.”
The Cullens stilled. Faces dropping, bodies tensing, and minds swirling with guilt. The words Rosalie were the same as they always were; spitting out insults or malign words aimed towards Edward and Bella’s relationship. Though, this time, her words held a different meaning for the group. Reminding them all A.J. couldn’t have what they wanted her to; what they all wished she could.
     A normal life.
Having been changed at the youngest age of fifteen in the Olympic Coven, she had even less time to have lived as a human. Too quickly was she thrown into this world; too quickly had she been forced out of the other. They all knew she loved her family dearly, and they shared the sentiment, but they were aware of her desire to ‘be’ a teenager again; to live a normal adolescence. They desired the same for her. Rosalie most of all. Despite a few apprehensions about A.J. dating, the choice being stripped from her makes it a bit harder to play the role of an ‘overprotective and gruff’ family member.
A.J., having her back turned to the brooding vampires, knew what they were all thinking and could feel the tension in the atmosphere. She often thinks of the same thing - she craves it. Not necessarily romance, but at least the choice to.  More often than not, she chooses not to share her thoughts on it, except for a few times when Edward caught her thinking about it or her and Rosalie’s late-night talks. Unfortunately, ignoring them only made the thoughts and desires stronger. The fact of the underlying doom of immortality is that every choice you’d thought you’d gain - every decision you’d thought you’d get to make twice, gets ripped away from you in a few short moments.
A.J. shook her shoulders as if a chill ran over her, and unzipped the small compartment on the front of her backpack once she set it in front of her.
“Listen,” she broke the silence as she pulled out a CD case with four men sitting around a table on the cover, “they’d have to be a very special person for me to consider datin’ - I mean, I’m hot…and got standards.”
Her unspoken mission of raising the mood was a success as a plethora of smiles, and an eye roll or two made its way around.
“Oh no! Guys, where’d the sky go?” Emmett feigned a look of fear as he peered up at the sky with a hand as a shield, “Oh, never mind, it’s just A.J.’s big-ass head.”
A.J.’s mouth dropped at her brother's words just as she finished placing the CD in the correct compartment, and twisted her torso while in a squatted position.
Rosalie sent a glare toward Emmett before saying, “There’s nothing wrong with confidence.” her eyes softened when she turned to A.J. from afar.

“It’s hot on you, babe,” Emmett explained, his body language matching his whiny tone, “Not on A.J.”
A.J. snorted, along with Alice, and the other Cullens gave Emmett a look of confusion at his choice of words.
“I sure hope it’s not hot on me,” A.J. spoke with a flabbergasted tone as she fumbled with buttons on her boombox.
Emmett physically faltered, “I-I-you guys know I didn’t mean it like that.”
Jasper quirked an eyebrow up, “Oh, really, dearest brother? Then by all means, please elaborate your eloquent words.” he spoke with one hand still on Alice’s shoulder and the other twirling the metal bat.
Emmett frowned, “I was trying to compliment my wife and insult A.J. at the same time, which proved to be more difficult than expected.”
“Seems you really are only brawn.” Jasper teased further, an almost sinister smirk across his face.
“Hey!” Rosalie barked out with a harsh expression, “I may be on your team, but I won’t hesitate to hurt you.”
Emmett’s demeanor changed instantly to smugness at Rosalie coming to his defense. The smirk on Jasper’s face didn’t move, instead, it seemed to grow wider at Rosalie’s threat; as if he were daring her to touch him. He dropped his arm from Alice’s shoulders and dipped it into his pocket.
“I’d like to see you try, yank.” the Texan leaned back as he pointed the baseball bat at her.
At the sight of Rosalie beginning to stomp forward, Carlisle thought it best to speak up.
“Rose,” the eldest vampire warned, arm tucked under his wife’s white jacket and around her waist.
The irritated blonde’s head snapped toward Carlisle’s so fast it was a miracle it didn’t break.
“What?” She spat, annoyed at Jasper and Carlisle.
Carlisle gave her one of his hopeful smiles, “Let’s try to have a nice day.”
“That goes for you too, Jasper,” Esme paused before switching her gaze to a smug Emmett, “And you.”
“W-what-I,” Emmett fumbled over his words, “I’m a victim of defamation! I’m innocent here.”
Jasper lowered the bat to the ground and settled his weight on it.
     “Yer’ ‘bout as innocent-,”
A.J. drowned out the bickering behind her, engrossed in her boom box and getting it to work. The recurring problem, which she insisted was easily fixable and did not require a new one, was that the CD she put in would spin for a few seconds before coming to a stop. She grew more agitated as she repeated the process of taking the CD out, exhaling on it as she would on a cold window, gently wiping it off on her black leggings, then placing it back in the compartment, and pressing play - only to have to repeat the process. After another failed attempt, A.J. took an unsatisfying deep breath before forcefully exhaling through her nose.
“Shit.” A.J. huffed to herself, thankful no one could hear her over the bickering.
“Ya know, ever since the fall of New Year’s Eve of ‘08, my boom box ain’t never played the same.” A.J. thought aloud to anyone who would listen.
Rosalie was heading up the field and across to A.J.’s side instantaneously; always being willing to help her baby sister. It helped that she was the most skilled mechanic out of the Cullen Coven; her confidence in cars crossed over to most things technical…except t.v.s, though she was always looking to expand her knowledge. In her own time.
“Did you put fresh batteries in?” Rosalie inquired once she reached A.J.
A.J. observed Rosalie squatting down next to her, out of her peripheral vision.
“Yes, I put fresh batteries in,” A.J. snarked out without thinking.
The tone she used earned the young vampire a warning look from Rosalie, who stared her sister down. A.J. shut her eyes and turned away for a moment, before returning her gaze to Rosalie.
“Sorry, that w’n’t directed at you,” she earnestly apologized, “This damn thang’ is pissin’ me off.” she gestured vigorously at the malfunctioning boombox with pinched brows.
Rosalie ushered a ‘thank you’ in response before examining the portable stereo further.
As the two Hale girls inspected the boombox and the other Cullens chatted amongst themselves, a silver jeep pulled toward the wide-open field. Its wheels tracked through the soft ground, leaving a muddy trail behind it and on the black tires.
Esme and Alice both grinned excitedly at the arrival of the new couple and Carlisle smiled softly, not outwardly matching their level of excitement. Emmett and Jasper were too busy misconducting themselves to turn their attention to the car as it was pulled into park a bit away from the others. From beside her, A.J. felt Rosalie tense up. Well aware of Rosalie’s opinion on all of this, she knew her attitude could turn fast and possibly ruin what was supposed to be some family fun time.
Esme and Carlisle shared a look before both turning back to give Rosalie an encouraging smile. Rosalie, who held the look of distaste she always held when Bella was in mind, gave them nothing promising in return. With a cheesy grin and painfully raised eyebrows, A.J. shot her parents a double thumbs up. The couple chuckled at her behavior and returned her thumbs up and smile, at a lesser volume.
The eldest Hale sister turned her attention to A.J. after observing Carlisle and Esme’s reactions, to find her sister still in the over-the-top position. In a blink, the newborn now sat with a dramatized frown and slowly raised her left hand to rest on her no-longer beating heart. Her head shook in a defeated manner, in hope that her big sister would crack a smile at her ludicrous behavior. Fortunately for A.J., in a move so minuscule only the trained eye would notice, the right corner of Rosalie's lips raised ever so slightly. Victoriously, A.J. beamed; savoring the lightened presence and softened gaze of her bitter sister.
During this transaction, Edward stepped out of the driver's side door and walked around the silver Jeep he arrived in. His gaunt hand opened the passenger-side door, and out stepped Bella in a rugged, brown jacket with her brown hair in a ponytail covered by a baseball cap that mimicked Emmett’s, only being worn the right way around. Her shoulders were hunched as she was within herself in a way that completely contradicted the way Edward delved into himself; usually. Today, however, Edward seemed more withdrawn than usual. Previous teasing didn’t aid in reducing his nerves at all, and the fact of the constant threat this brought to Bella and his family, well, it added up.
The couple shared the same social awkwardness, but Bella carried herself in a way that lacked confidence and made her appear fragile. Whereas during most occasions for Edward, he exuded confidence, some even say arrogance; at least that’s what A.J. had heard from her sibling's school gossip and teasing. For the unusual pair, however, it seemed to work quite well for them.
While A.J. observed her brother and his new girlfriend, Rosalie had found what she believed to be ‘the sweet spot’ on the pink boom box. With a loud ‘thump’ that nearly made A.J. jump out of her skin and attracted the others' attention, the CD in it began spinning fast. A.J. beamed at her sister, who she considered a hero at the moment, and flicked her head between the boom box and her at a lightning-fast speed. A.J. excitedly placed her index finger onto the ‘play’ atop the boom box and pressed it without hesitation. Music blared from the speakers, bass instantly filling the chests of the two vampires who sat in front of it.
“WHOO!” A.J. cheered and fell back onto her butt.
Emmett thrust his fist into the air, “HELL YEAH!” he yelled.
“YEAH!” Jasper joined with a playfully stern face and copied Emmett’s action with the bat.
From an awkward angle, the ecstatic newborn wrapped her strong arms around Rosalie’s midsection, nearly toppling the elder Hale over.
“Thank you!” the girl squealed while Rosalie gained her balance back.
Rosalie smiled brightly as she hugged A.J. back, “No problem, just stop letting people touch your stuff.”
“I tried to stop Emmett from recreating that scene from ‘Say Anything’.” Edward called out from the Jeep where he and Bella just finished a conversation.
“Aw, come on,” Emmett whined with a smile, “It was Valentine's Day! I had to do something for my babe. After 72 years together, you gotta’ keep it fresh.”
The burly Cullen winked at Rosalie, who didn’t spare a glance at her husband, leaving him dejected as she marched her way to Carlisle who was only a few feet away from her. Carlisle had retrieved the second baseball bat from a long white and blue that also contained extra gloves and umpire gear and was resting his weight upon it. He greeted Rosalie with a close-lipped smile and opened his mouth to ask her but was quickly stopped by her palm flying up in front of him as she stomped by.
A.J. could feel the anger radiating off of her sister, even without a special power and her being across the field now. She knew it was a miracle for Rosalie to even be here, with her previous plan of leaving to avoid the game and Bella all together. Without a doubt, A.J. knew it would get better once the game started, the others thought so as well, especially since her demeanor was quite bright beforehand the new couple arrived.
“So that’s how you’ve managed to keep her.” Edward teased Emmett as he and Bella reached home plate.
Emmett flashed next to Edward, causing Bella to jump, and wrapped a thick arm around his brother’s shoulders, which were covered by a button-up baseball jersey.
Edward gave the younger vampire a look, already knowing what he was about to say.
“Emmett, that’s revolting,” Edward grimaced and pulled himself from Emmett’s grip.
“What?” Emmett furrowed his dark brows, “I was just gonna remind you that I’m not the one who thought sparkling was a dealbreaker.” he decided to keep his previous thought to himself.
A few of the Cullen ‘children’ laughed at Emmett’s remark, despite it being at Edward’s expense. His joke, as expected, did not sit well with Edward who was glaring at his brother.
A.J. glanced up at Jasper messing with a baseball bat, “Oo! That’s awkward.”
The girl sucked a breath through her bunny-like teeth while beginning to read through the tracklist on the back of her CD case.
A half-hearted grin slowly spread its way onto Edward’s face and his right flew up to swipe his mouth.
“You know, Emmett,” his arm was now around Emmett’s shoulders, “I think you're just scared of your team losing.”
“Not unless you plan on throwing the game,” Emmett smirked with crossed arms.
Edward’s shit-eating look was stolen by Emmett. His head snapped over to Esme, asking a silent question, but easily found the answer by using his gift.
“Rosalie and Alice wanted to be on a team this time,” Esme explained nonetheless while grabbing umpire gear out of the baseball bag, “We’re team ‘Wonder Woman’!”
Edward furrowed his brows, “Jasper’s on your team.” His inquiry was disguised as a statement.
“It’s an honor to be on a team named after comics’  finest heroine,” Jasper answered for himself as he practiced his batting stance to the side of Carlisle and Rosalie.
Edward looked to Emmett, “And we are…MVP?” a look of dissatisfaction was on his face.
“I was vouchin’ fer the Cheetahs, personally,” A.J. spoke up, “You know, Wonder Woman’s nemesis and all.” she clicked the skip button at the top of the boom box.
Esme smiled at her children’s banter and pushed her way toward Bella with a black baseball glove and chest protector. Bella met her gaze with a close-lipped smile and hesitantly took the glove when the Cullen matriarch extended it to her.
“Glad you’re here,” Esme wrapped an arm around Bella, “We need an umpire,” she stated while leading the girl to home base.
Emmett waltzed past them, “She thinks we cheat.” he continued heading down the field.
“I know you cheat.” Esme taunted as Emmett tossed a baseball between his hands.
A.J. tsked, “Y’all love to say that ‘cause our team happens to always win.” she goaded while placing her ‘Muse’ CD back into the small compartment of her backpack.
“What about last time,” Rosalie asked with a sarcastic tone from her spot near second base.
Bella glanced at the brooding woman, “What happened last time?” she switched her gaze to Esme as they parked themselves at home base.
“Here, slip your jacket off for a moment, sweetie,” Esme instructed kindly, “Last time we all played, which was…,”
“March 30,” Alice answered from the pitcher’s mound.
Esme thanked Alice with a smile, “Thank you. Anyway, Carlisle continuously struck out during the first inning, resulting in team ‘VIP’ having five fewer runs than team ‘Great Batsy’.”
During her explanation, Esme slipped the black chest protector over Bella’s neck.
“Crying, Bella,” A.J. scooted her bottom to face Bella, “I was cryin’ and I don’t even have tears.”
Carlisle smiled sheepishly, “In my defense, I had a lot on my mind.”
A.J. didn’t miss the subtle embarrassment that showed on Edward’s face nor the looks her siblings gave him.
“No excuse, sir,” A.J. threw a finger up, “We’re winners, and I expect ya ta act like it!”
Her behavior earned a chuckle from Carlisle and an exclamation of agreement from Emmett.
As this went on. Esme adjusted the chest guard causing Bella to blink at the sudden movement but eventually helped Esme settle it on her torso. Once it was resting on her shoulders, Edward snaked behind Bella and adjusted the straps across her upper back. Esme then stepped away to give the new lovers some space. Her pallid face held a warm expression at the sight of the ‘son’ she had grown most fond of, finally finding happiness in love.
The sweet moment was soon ruined as Bella was jerked back by the force Edward unconsciously used. A crease formed between Esme’s dark eyebrows as she frowned at the  uncomfortable scene in front of her. She sent a small smile; whether it was a warning to be mindful or encouragement was unknown; and stepped away from the couple to help the others in setting up.
“Sorry,” Edward’s hands faltered on the straps, “Last time I did this was back when A.J. had first joined us.” he secured the chest guard on Bella’s back.
Bella nodded, still holding her brown jacket on her arm. The sleeves of her white shirt twisted as Edward’s hand snaked around her to lift the brown jacket off of her right arm.
“It’s okay,” she swallowed as Edward prepared her coat to assist it on, “How long ago was that?”
“Why does it matter?” Rosalie snarked out with crossed arms and a hip popped out.
Edward paused in helping Bella put her jacket back on to give a warning look to the blonde.
Carlisle’s lips pressed into a straight line, “Rose,” he warned.
Bella looked back at Edward before back at Rosalie.
“It doesn’t, I was just curious.” Bella answered honestly.
“And it’s a perfectly valid question,” A.J. spoke up.
Rosalie’s eye roll could practically be heard by the others.
A.J. briefly glanced back at those behind her, “If we’re goin’ off the day I actually moved here, then…,” she trailed off while calculating.
“A.J.’s lived here since last August.” Carlisle answered for her.
Bella nodded as she consecutively pushed her arms through the sleeves of her jacket as Edward finished helping her by hiking the coat up until it was entirely back on.
“It’s a little tight,” Bella stated with tight lips as she rolled her shoulders.
The jacket she wore barely fit over the padding of the chest guard thrown onto her. Her arm movement was restricted, but she supposed it was better to have stiff arms than a shattered sternum.
Loud guitar suddenly blared from A.J.’s boombox, the owner of it now swaggering over to home plate. She snatched up a black glove lined with hot pink from the gear bag on her way over.
“Sorry, Bella-rella,” A.J. approached the uncomfortable human, “It’s either have no protection ‘gainst my lethal pitches and get soaked down to your knickers, or have protection from such pitches buuut still get soaked - ‘cause-uh-do you smell that?”
A.J. threw her arm around Bella’s padded shoulders and thoroughly inhaled with her nose pointed toward the sky.
“It’s gon’ rain.” A.J. rasped out while gradually lowering her head.
Emmett grinned from over by third base, “It’s gon rain!” he repeated.
“IT’S GON’ RAIN!” A.J. shouted before patting Bella on the back and jogging to the pitcher's mound.
Esme chuckled next to Carlisle before turning to her husband.
Her hands pressed his chest, “Alright, enough chitter-chatter, Bella didn’t come here to talk. Let’s play some baseball!”
Esme patted Carlisle’s chest, signaling him and the remaining Cullens not in place, to assume their positions on the field.
A.J. eyed Alice as she approached the pitcher’s mound, “You’re gonna’ have to move.” A.J. jutted her left thumb toward home plate.
Alice furrowed her brows, “And why is that?”
Rosalie frowned as Carlisle her way, “Yeah, why is that? The team I’m on lost last time.”
“We know,” Emmett stated, “We decided, however, that we wanna play the field first… and so A.J. can pitch first.”
Rosalie rolled her topaz eyes once again while Alice agreed to their decision and they both jogged back to home plate. The remaining two members of team ‘Wonder Woman’ had yet to move from their previous spots at home plate and waited for the others to get into position.
“Keep an eye on Emmett, alright,” Edward spoke into Bella’s ear with a smile.
Emmett frowned, “Hey, we’re on the same team!”
His fist slammed into his gloved left hand, clearly itching for the game to start.
“That doesn’t change your track record.” Edward retorted after flashing over to second base as Carlisle jogged to first.
With the baseball gripped tightly in her right hand, A.J. swung her arm toward Jasper at home plate, who was also preparing.
“Careful, Eddie,” A.J. warned, “Might start ta’ think you're a snitch.”
Edward chortled, “How can one be a snitch in baseball?”
A.J. craned her neck to look at him, “Uh, I don’t know, mind reader.” she squinted suspiciously at him.
Emmett glanced between before a look of realization spread across his pallid face.
“Ohhh, yeah, I see what you’re gettin’ at, Aje,” Emmett smirked while eyeing Edward, “You’re gonna listen to our team's thoughts and then sabotage us.”
Edward paused and blinked, words escaping him. One weakness he would never admit, even if he was being tortured, is the effect Emmett and A.J. have to completely and utterly bamboozle him. Once the shock of Emmett’s accusation wore off, Edward peeled his eyes open and met Bella’s brown ones. She held an amused expression, her eyes asking a question Edward couldn’t hear. He sent her a silent shrug as an answer whilst A.J. and Emmett continued their rant.
“Alright,” Carlisle’s call silenced Emmett and A.J., “I’m sure Edward is not planning a betrayal, and even if he was-,”
“Which I’m not.” Edward chimed in.
“I know,” Carlisle spoke in his mind with an apologetic look, “Even if he was, I think we’d still manage to win. Even without Rose on our team.”
A smug smile spread across Carlisle’s lips, as a chorus of ‘Oo’s’ blended with the breeze that blew his striped scarf.
“Let’s go then,” A.J. spun on her heel to face home plate, “Jasper.” she nodded.
Jasper nodded back, preparing his stance.
“Angel.” he smiled at her, eyes filled with determination.
In an instant, A.J. propelled her right arm forward. The ball flew from her hand and headed straight to Jasper. The bat he held swung out and away from his shoulder, his torso and legs twisting to enhance the force he hit with. With a loud crack of thunder, the ball collided with the bat and launched high into the sky. Unfortunately for Jasper, the ball headed into the air directly above A.J., who leaped up what seemed like five-hundred feet to Bella, and caught the ball with ease in her gloved hand. A.J. landed on her feet with a thud, sufficiently stopping Jasper from running just as he dropped the bat.
Bella glanced up at Esme from her squatted position a little ways behind Jasper as laughs or winces echoed through the air. The speed at which the Cullens play made it difficult for her to decipher anything, let alone the baseball knowledge she lacked. She briefly wished she would’ve paid more attention to her step-father’s career now. Answering her silent question, Esme nodded to her with a grimace.
     “Out.” Bella called.
“Oh-ho-ho, Mr. Whitlock,” A.J. called in a nasally British accent, “How it seems your strategy has grown weak.” her smile grew at the sound of Emmett’s snicker.
Alice watched as her husband tracked back to join her and Rosalie on the sidelines, frown on his face but posture still perfect. Jasper handed her the bat as he passed her and continued until he was next to Rosalie.
“It’s okay, Jazzy,” Alice cooed, “It was only your first bat.” she gave him an assuring smile as she approached the plate.
A.J. grinned at Alice as the older vampire settled into batting position. A strike of lightning in the distance lit the grey sky and was quickly followed by a deafening crack of thunder. Bella jumped in her skin at the unexpected volume which only heightened her stress levels. Having noticed the jump, Esme raised a hand that had been resting on her knee and placed it on Bella’s padded shoulder. She gave the girl a squeeze and a gentle smile as Bella craned her neck to meet Esme’s gaze.
“Hey, batta’-batta’, hey, batta’-batta’, swang~,” A.J. mimicked exuberantly swinging an imaginary bat.
A smile spread onto Alice’s face upon hearing the song, “I got ta just do my thang~.” she happily sang back.
“Enough singing,” Emmett yelled, “Get on with the game!” he eagerly threw his fist into his gloved hand.
A.J. frowned as she twisted her head back, “Let us enjoy ourselves!”
“Clearly someone can’t dance.” Alice smirked teasingly still in her batting stance.
Emmett’s hands paused with an almost offended look on his face. Those spectating were either watching thoroughly entertained, or less than amused and wanting to continue with this close game.
“Oh, I can dance,” Emmett answered nonchalantly, “Tell ‘em, babe.”
Thunder cracked around them as all eyes zoned in on Rosalie, awaiting an answer.  A smile slowly grew on her diamond-like jaw as if a pleasant memory was filling her mind.
“Oh, he can dance,” her declaration rewarded her a wink from her doting husband.
A.J. stuck her tongue out, “Bleh,” she faked a gag as her torso rag-dolled.
Esme chuckled at her reaction from her hunched-over position behind Bella.
“Alright, ‘nough talk, let’s get back to the game.” Esme clapped her hands together right as it thundered.
Carlisle nodded at his wife, “Impeccable timing.” he smiled at her.
She quirked a short eyebrow up at him with a smirk, “Thank you.”
Returning her attention back to the game, A.J. peered up at the sky as if she was waiting for something. Her eyes fluttered shut as she forcefully inhaled for an exaggerated amount of time. Bella furrowed her brows at A.J.’s action, briefly glancing up at Esme again.
“She’s waiting for the thunder,” Esme answered without taking her eyes off the scene in front of her.
“She technically don’t have to,” Jasper chimed in, “As long as we’re playing during a storm, we don’t have to wait for a ‘loud sound’.”
A.J. lowered her head, “I like the dramatics. Sue me!”
Before Bella could blink, the ball was flying at Alice. With another loud crack of both thunder and the bat and ball colliding, Alice dropped the bat and dashed toward first base. The ball flew past A.J.’s left side and headed to Emmett who immediately jumped into action. He shot into the air, left arm extended above him, with the ball directed at him. As Alice reached first base, the ball grazed the top of Emmett’s gloved hand and continued into the forest behind them.
Edward darted back into the forest as Alice approached second base. His topaz eyes bounced rapidly around the trees and brush until he spotted the baseball. Edward then snatched the ball off the ground and threw it to Emmett through the trees, who was anticipating the throw. Emmett hurled his body to the left and roughly landed at third base when Alice stepped on it.
A chorus of ‘whoos’ and hollers sounded from home plate as Alice bounced victoriously on third base. Emmett scoffed as he rolled onto his knees before hopping up while Edward came flashing back from the woods.
“Lucky shot,” Emmett commented as he stood next to Alice.
Alice looked up at him with a smug look, “That was pure skill, Emmett.”
“Damn right it was,” Jasper called out with his arms crossed.
The Cullens continued an epic game of baseball, one that was far too fast for the human eye to properly view. Bella struggled to see anything but the aftermath chatter and positions after the end of a run. Thankfully for her sake, Esme or another member of team ‘Wonder Woman’ was there to help her with the calls; disregarding Rosalie.
The Cullens had made it to the third inning, in record time thanks to their enhanced abilities. Team ’MVP’ was currently three runs ahead of team ‘Wonder Woman’. Jasper had redeemed himself and hit a home run, Alice was currently at second base, Esme resided by Bella and awaited her turn, and Rosalie was currently up to bat. Team ‘MVP’ were positioned the same way as before and eager to continue.
“You ready?” A.J. nodded at her sister as they both readied themselves.
Rosalie crouched into position, “As ever.”
A.J. drew back her right arm before swinging it forward and putting her weight on her front leg. The baseball flew toward Rosalie before another crack echoed through the field and throughout the surrounding forest. Rosalie dropped the bat, pushed off of home plate, and sprinted down the field. The baseball was heading between second and third base, where Edward and Emmett were positioned on either base.
Alice sprinted past Edward and Emmett who were distracted by the fast-approaching ball. As the pixie-like vampire passed by third base and Rosalie reached first, Emmett and Edward jumped simultaneously with their arms outstretched and ready to catch the ball. Unfortunately, the duo collided with each other in a loud ‘thwack’ and the two members of team ‘Wonder Woman’ managed to reach home plate. The women secured two more runs for their team and caused a total wipeout for the opposite team that resulted in Edward and Emmett splayed out on the grass and the baseball deep in the forest.
Alice skidded to stop a few feet away from home plate and Rosalie followed by sliding across the grass and onto home plate. Amidst the cheers of the successful team, Jasper ran to Alice and picked her up into a spinning hug; squeals of laughter leaving the victorious woman. With a grin, Esme extended her arm down to Rosalie who grabbed it with a smirk and hopped up.
“That’s how we do it!” Esme high-fived Rosalie once she was standing.
Bella nodded from her squatted position, “Yeah, that was a good play.”
Rosalie glared down at the girl, “You couldn’t even see it.” she spat.
Esme’s smile turned to a frown, “Rose.” she warned.
     “What? It’s true.” Rosalie defended.
“Well, I mean, she’s right,” Bella said, “I-I couldn’t see it, but-,”
“Alright, how ‘bout we turn our attention to the real issue ‘ere,” A.J. interrupted the three, “Which is betrayal!”
A.J. thrust her finger in the direction of a chuckling Emmett and Edward who had just stood up.
Edward, having already heard what she was about to say, ceased his laughter.
“A.J., are you really pushing this?” Edward groaned.
A.J. fought back a smile, “Oh, yes, indeed I am pushin’ this, traitor!”
Emmett stared at Edward, “Oh, yeah. It is a bit strange that the mind reader Edward didn’t read in my mind that I was gonna jump for the ball.” a smirk spread across his short jaw.
“Exactly!” A.J. eagerly agreed with a stomp, “He sabotaged us so the loser team would have a chance!”
Rosalie crossed her arms, “I think we have a chance regardless of Edward’s treachery.”
“I’m-I am not a traitor. I did not even think of reading anyone’s mind, because I was focused on the game.” Edward let out a flabbergasted laugh.
Emmett adjusted his stance and crossed his arms.
“Exactly what a traitor would say,” Emmett stated.

Edward’s tongue darted across his pristine white teeth as he grinned in annoyance, “I think the only one you should be accusing of ’treachery’ is Alice.”
A smirk spread across Edward’s lips at his words.
“What!” Alice’s hands fell onto her hips.
Her eyebrows knitted together underneath her navy blue cap at the sudden accusation. A crack of thunder sounded around them as if Alice herself conjured it up with her voice. The babbling duo, Emmett and A.J., observed Alice before staring at Edward and then meeting each other’s gaze. Skeptical looks were painted upon their pale faces as the wind picked up around them. The rest of the Cullens and Bella were left awaiting their next move, wondering if Edward’s distraction worked or not.
The accusing pair busted out in chuckles and giggles, ripping Edward’s hopeful look off of his face.
Emmett turned his head to a dejected Edward.
“Alice wouldn’t have the time to see our moves,” Emmett stated matter-of-factly.
A.J. nodded, “Yeah, plus, she ain’t on our team.”
Emmett and A.J. smirked at each other as if they just deduced the most abstruse mystery in history. A snort could be heard coming from Hale ‘twins’ by home plate, though that did nothing to deter the growing confidence of A.J. and Emmett.
Edward chuckled out in confusion, eyes darting around those who stood throughout the field. His mouth opened and closed, struggling between the option of a logical defense or leaving the whole ordeal to rest. Staying silent seemed like the best option, considering logic fell upon deaf ears when it came to Emmett and A.J., but ultimately Edward decided to play the ‘call on the parent’ card.
“Carlisle,” Edward pleaded to the man who was standing near first base.
Edward motioned to his ‘attackers’, hoping the wise man’s words would bring some sense to the situation. Carlisle looked upon his son with tight lips and one hand over the other resting in front of his body. A glint of amusement shone in Carlisle’s golden eyes from the scene he silently observed, much to Edward’s dismay.
“Emmett, A.J.,” Carlisle spoke, “Edward isn’t a traitor-,”
The wind picked up around them and quieted Carlisle as a fog emerged from the enclosing forest. A gasp fell from Alice’s lips while her arms fell from her hips to her sides. Her eyes had seemingly glazed over, hinting at the vision she was having. As if in slow motion, Edward stared at her before peering over at the forest behind them just as Alice’s vision ended. The rest of the Olympic Coven’s eyes turned toward the forest, whether it be from their own acute hearing or sensing the seriousness of Alice’s vision.
“Stop!” Alice yelled desperately as it thundered around them.
Edward was across the field and next to Bella at a moment's notice, the rest similarly hustling about. With her eyes still peering past the bare trees, A.J. felt an arm grip her left bicep tightly. Her eyes flicked over to see Emmett pulling her toward the rest of their family, Carlisle on her other side. Their eyes held a look of worry as they flashed over together.
A.J. flickered her gaze between them as they joined the rest at home plate, to which Edward was pulling Bella toward the Jeep as Alice spoke quickly. A.J. stared at her family with knitted brows, clearly missing a vital piece of information, though she heard words of getting Bella out of here and nomadic vampires hearing their baseball game.
    “Nomad vampires?”
Panic fell upon A.J., concentrated in her chest, as memories filled her mind. She swore she could feel teeth tearing into her skin again, the excruciatingly slow loss of blood, her vision blurring, the taste of iron mixed with mud cutting off her breathing; choking her as water filled her lungs. Squeezing her eyes shut,  A.J. attempted to combat the rising terror with logical thoughts.
     “I’m a vampire now too.”
     “They can’t hurt me.”
     “I ain’t food anymore.”
“They might be vegans like us.”
“No, they ain’t. They’re the ‘predator’ on the news.”
Unfortunately for her, the thoughts weren’t anything but a mere hindrance, to what she knew was illogical fear.
“It is illogical, right?” A.J. questioned herself amidst the chaos growing around her and the sudden absence of music.
Before she could freak herself out more, a wave of peace washed over her and drowned out the fear in her chest. A moment after, two hands came to rest on her shoulders, which she deduced to be Jasper’s as everyone else was in her line of sight.
Her head snapped up, the bottom of her messy braided pigtails bouncing with the movement. A.J. was met with an assuring smile from Jasper, who squeezed her strong shoulders.
“Everythang’s gonna be alright.” Jasper reassured her as he guided her to stand in the back with Bella.
A.J.’s pigtails bounced again as she nodded furiously, “Yeah, I know.”
With another squeeze and a close-lipped smile, Jasper parted from his sister and hurried over to Emmett who stood waiting at the far right end of the line of vampires.
“Get your hair down.” Edward ordered Bella with a pinched expression.
Bella momentarily froze and stared at Edward with a bewildered look, before hesitantly pulling the hair tie from her mousy brown hair.
Rosalie turned around with a scowl, “Like that’ll help, I can smell her from across the field.”
With one last look, Rosalie turned back to face the oncoming threat with the others. Carlisle moved to stand tall in the front as everyone else gathered around. They formed a ‘wall’ in front of Bella, her being the obvious vulnerable human here, and A.J. as she had been pushed to the back by Jasper.
“I shouldn’t have brought you here, I’m so sorry,” Edward shook his head as Bella pressed him for an answer, “Just be quiet and stand behind me.”
Bella clung to Edward’s side as he stepped toward the others but stayed just behind them with Bella. The youngest Cullen moved to Bella’s other side, matching the body language of her family. Past the line her family created in front of the three, A.J.’s copper eyes fell upon three figures emerging from the woods.
In the front, passing through the growing fog, was a dark-skinned man with long locks, an orange leather jacket atop his bare torso, and a pair of dark, lined pants. To his right, was a woman with curly ginger hair and a long fur shawl that blew in the wind as they tracked forward; a confident smirk carved into her alabaster skin added to her alluring appearance. Lastly, the most menacing of them all was a man who stood to the left of them; his blonde hair was pulled into a low ponytail that enhanced his dark, hooded eyes. The one characteristic that united them was the piercing ruby color of their eyes, which reminded A.J. of her own a couple of months ago.
The young vampire hurriedly untucked her pinstripe jersey from her leggings all the while keeping her eyes trained ahead. With her enhanced speed, she threw open the buttons of her shirt, leaving her with just a baby blue tank top adorning her torso.
“Here,” A.J. spoke to Bella, snapping the girl out of her frozen state.
The human turned her head to face the newborn vampire and her eyes followed consecutively. Her gaze fell upon A.J.’s worried face as the taller of the two threw her jersey around Bella and placed it on her shoulders. Bella briefly unlatched herself from Edward for the jersey to encase her shoulders and arms.
A.J. adjusted the jersey on Bella, “It’s not much, but I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t wash it last time we played so it’s…oh shit.”
A.J.’s ramblings were cut short as the trio of vampires was now standing still a few feet away from the group. With her enhanced hearing, she heard Bella’s heartbeat pick up next to her and prayed that the oncoming threat wouldn’t notice amidst the storm.
The frontman raised his right hand in a fluid motion, and in it was the homerun ball Rosalie hit. His pristine teeth contrasted against his dark skin as he flashed an inviting smile. A.J. couldn’t help but appreciate his good looks despite the tense situation. His shorter stature and medium build were carried casually, in a way that let you know he was confident and felt no need to compensate. The exposed torso revealed by his unbuttoned green-tinted vest and jacket showcased his toned upper body. He was undeniably tantalizing and attractive, though A.J. supposed that’s what made him dangerous.
“I believe this belongs to you,” The vampire remarked before flicking his wrist and sending the ball toward Carlisle.
Carlisle caught it with ease, an unreadable expression on his face.
“Thank you.” a friendly smile appeared on Carlisle’s face.
A.J. shifted her weight before stepping over to stand next to Esme. Sensing her daughter moving next to her, Esme instinctively reached for the girl’s bicep before snaking her arm around A.J.’s. and pulling her close. Esme flicked her eyes to A.J.’s arm upon meeting bare skin, curious as to what happened to her jersey. In response, she received a simple smile and her daughter’s cold left hand on hers.
“I am Laurant,” the stranger spoke again, “And this is Victoria and James.”
A.J.’s gaze lingered on Victoria, her voluminous curls framing her soft features. Her presence intrigued the young vampire more and more as she studied her face and body language. It was almost feline, the way she moved, her minuscule movements were elegant and smooth. Once again, it was clear how her looks could be a weapon.
James, however, did nothing but frighten A.J. Everything about the vampire screamed dangerous and to stay away. He, unlike his coven-mates, did possess the same alluring appearance or body language. The ways his eyes seemed to stare into your soul along with his tall stature reminded A.J. of the tales of Slender Man she’d heard some classmates talk about before she was turned. His weapon, without a doubt, was intimidation.
“I’m Carlisle,” the Cullen patriarch gestured to the others standing beside him, “This is my family.”

“I like your shawl,” A.J. spoke and nodded to the one draped around Victoria.
Instantly, she felt all eyes on her and Esme pull her tighter to her side. The girl shrugged it off, thinking to herself that flattery is usually the best way to smooth things out.
Victoria eyed A.J., taking in her appearance having paid more attention to everyone else.
“Thank you,” Victoria smiled, “I like your top. It’s a good color on you.” her words seemingly rolled off of her tongue.
A.J. returned the smile, “I know, right.” she let out a stiff chuckle.
Flattery certainly worked for herself as her apprehensive mood lessened from the compliment.
“Yes, well, I’m afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us.” Carlisle brought the attention back to him.
Laurant’s dark eyebrows raised as his ruby eyes widen ever so slightly.
“Our apologies,” he spoke earnestly, “We did not realize the territory had been claimed.”
His apology seemed almost empathetic according to A.J.’s ears. Regardless of whether or not she had been swayed by his being, she almost took his apology to heart if it had not been for the guard she desperately held onto.
Carlisle nodded, “We maintain a permanent residence nearby.”
Laurant twisted his neck to face James who was peering past Carlisle and Esme at Edward. A.J. unconsciously hardened her eyes in anticipation of what the nomad may do, having a hard time relaxing in his menacing presence. She feared what he may attempt to do to her family and wondered just how capable his coven could be against the Cullens.
“Really?” Laurant’s smooth voice held a tone of disbelief, “Well we won’t be a problem anymore. We were just passing through” His gaze returned to Carlisle.

“The humans were tracking us, but we led them east,” Victoria announced, “You should be safe,” she spoke the last part in a hushed tone as she leaned her head forward for emphasis.
     Carlisle nodded, “Excellent.”
A.J. caught the reluctant smile on her father’s face. It was one she’d seen him use on a woman who had struck up a conversation with him on one of A.J.’s earlier excursions to ease her back into society. She recalled the woman’s tone being rather flirty as she rang them up at the register.
Laurant glanced around at the Cullens.
“So,” he pressed, “Could you use three extra players?”
One by one the Cullen’s eyes fell upon Carlisle, awaiting his response. His gaze never left Laurant as he silently considered the best option.
Laurant smiled, “Oh, come on, just one game.”
Carlisle let out a quick sigh before smiling, “Sure, why not. A few of us were leaving - you can take their place.”
A.J. crane her neck to glance back at Edward and Bella. Edward’s hardened gaze seemed almost frightened as he glared ahead at James. The fear on his face didn’t come from a fear of his own well-being but Bella’s. A.J. knew that was the only thing on his mind, getting Bella away from here and keeping her safe.
“Why didn’t you just flash her to the car? You had time.” A.J. thought to Edward who only briefly spared her a glance.
Deciding to let it be, A.J.’s eyes moved to Bella who stood with her mouth slightly agape and still clung to Edward. The young vampire knew the human’s fear well and sympathized with her, especially since it was unknown how long Bella would be forced to endure this.
     “We’ll bat first.”
A.J.’s turned around in time to see Carlisle toss the ball to Laurant, but Victoria flashed her pale hand up in time to catch it.
“I’m the one with a wicked curve ball.” The smirk permanently edged into Victoria’s face grew wider.
The atmosphere grew lighter at her remark as the Cullen's spirit slowly returned.
“Oh, well I think we can handle that.” Jasper egged her on which earned a confident smirk from Emmett and A.J.
Laurant sang out an ‘oh’ at the banter, body swaying with anticipation as he clapped.
A.J. leaned her torso forward, “I’m a bit of’a star pitcher myself.” she eyed Victoria with a smile while Esme began to pull her toward the others as they retreated back.
“We shall see,” Victoria spoke as both she and Laurant spun around to head down the field.
Though his coven-mates were moving to prepare for the expected game, James stayed stationary with his animalistic gaze set on Edward and Bella. His head tilted to the side as he further inspected his ‘prey’, but Bella kept her gaze set on Edward. Her arm was wrapped around his as she waited for him to move though he stayed in an intimidation contest with James. Finally and with one last look, James turned on his heel and began to find his spot on the field. Bella let herself breathe as they were almost off the hook, but she relaxed too soon. Just as she and Edward began turning, the wind blew against their backs which pushed her scent straight toward James.
James’s neck twisted as he inhaled deeply, eyes fluttering shut as he faced the couple again.
He exhaled and smiled, “You brought a snack.”
The predatory vampire lunged forward in a hunched manner, ready to pounce on his prey. Edward pushed Bella back and jumped to action as well, all but A.J. following suit, including James’s coven-mates. The young vampire swiped her jersey off of Bella’s shoulders and swiftly threw it on as she moved to stand in front of Bella. The girl’s copper eyes glared at the trio in front of them, her fear manifesting into courage. She and Bella suddenly stumbled back as Esme pushed A.J. farther away from danger. Perhaps that was where her courage came from; an unconscious understanding that her family wouldn’t allow any harm to come to her.
“A human,” Laurant questioned as the tension grew.
“The girl’s with us.” Carlisle stated with a calm voice, “I think it’s best if you leave.” his eyes stayed trained on James.
Laurant nodded, “I can see the game is over. We’ll go now.” he held his palms open and facing the ground as he slowly backed away.
Once again, James lingered, this time with Victoria by his side, who seemed eager to kill for him. Laurant glanced at James questioningly, his patience running thin for such antics.
     “James.” Laurant called out.
With a growl and one last look, James’s posture straightened as he turned away from the Cullens. Victoria followed with a hiss and joined James to which they wrapped an arm around each other and stalked away. Laurant led them as he walked backward before gradually spinning around to walk straight.
A.J. watched as Edward slowly raised from his hunched state, deep in thought…or what she assumed was James’s.
“Get Bella out of here.” Carlisle ushered as he placed a hand on Edward’s shoulder, “Go.”
The eldest Cullen then pushed Edward back toward where Bella and A.J. resided. A.J. quickly flashed to the side and gave her brother an encouraging smile to which she received a nod. As Edward rushed Bella to the jeep, the Cullens quickly gathered what they had come here  with.
“W-wait, what ‘appens now?” A.J. asked as Carlisle wrapped an arm around her shoulder and placed his right hand protectively on her other.
“We go home.” Carlisle answered and began to lead her away in the direction of home.
A.J. stared at him as the others caught up with them, “Then what?”
Carlisle looked down and gave his daughter a close-lipped smile as Esme flashed to her other side.
“Let’s just get home first.” he told her.
A.J. nodded and turned her gaze forward before stopping dead in her tracks and craning her neck to look around Carlisle.
“Wait, my stuff!” she called out.
“Don’t worry, we got it.” Rosalie answered as she slugged A.J.’s backpack around her shoulders and Emmett cradled the girl’s boom box.
A.J. nodded again, “Thank you.” she let her gaze fall forward.
The girl bit her tongue in anticipation of what was going to happen. The courage she had gained left her once she heard the wheels of the silver Jeep skid away in the mud. Dread replaced it as the primary emotion in most of the vampires present. Her thoughts were far too jumbled and rapid for her to calm herself down as Carlisle began to pick up speed. One thing that remained clear in her mind as she started to run, was her family staying safe. Though, she had no clue how she'd do it.

Oh there’s a comment on my werewolf!Alex/vampire!George post
Tumblr media
Oh that’s nice, I’m glad other people can see it and it’s not just me being weird. Actually, I-
Wait a second.
What’s this?
Tumblr media
Oh @twinkodium. Oh poor unsuspecting soul that has somehow stumbled upon my blog. If only you knew the avalanche you have unknowingly brought upon yourself.
For you, twinkodium, and those of you who have only started following my blog recently, hello. I’m Church, a genderfluid autistic person, whose special interest is wolves with a specific emphasis on werewolves in media. And today I’m here to tell you why Alex Albon could totally theoretically be a werewolf.
DISCLAIMER: I know a lot about wolves and werewolves so my knowledge of Alex Albon is minuscule in comparison. I am more than happy to accept criticisms on the "Could Alex Albon be a werewolf?" debate. However, if you wish to disagree with my knowledge of lycanthropy, you will have to fight me with your own bare hands in the Florida Everglades. Hugs and kisses <3
That being said, let's get into it.
First of all, anyone can be a werewolf. That’s kind of the whole thing. You never know who around you could have a different side, a side they can’t control and might be totally different from the side they show you. But, that’s not what this is about, so let’s get into the actual details, shall we?
1. Lycanthropy has often and continuously been used as a metaphor for transformation.
The reason why I and many other transgender or gender non-conforming people relate to the story of becoming a werewolf, is because there is a fundamental motif of change. Your body changes, your mind changes, even how people perceive you changes. And from this change comes an increased level of awareness of yourself and your place in the world.
For example, it is a common trope in werewolf media that being turned into a werewolf heightens your “natural instincts” and the personality traits that you already showed as a human. A lot of feelings or ideas that were not as prominent in your human form suddenly takes a new presentation that is unavoidable and must be acknowledged (similar to how a lot of the times when people transition, they act in different or more pronounced ways because they now “feel more like themselves”).
Now, how does this apply to our dear friend and case study, Alex Albon? Well, I present you with two occasions in Alex’s public life where a large transformation took place:
A) his transition from F2/Toro Rosso to F1/Red Bull. Alex was a standout driver in Formula 2 and in his rookie season, this is of course why he got promoted. However, the shift from a high-performing car (when he started in Red Bull) suddenly brought to light a lot of small intricacies in Alex’s driving, some good and some bad (much like how transforming from one species to a more powerful one brings out a lot of traits that you could hide/did not seem as large before).
B) The second transformation is Alex’s change from Red Bull to Williams. The thing about lycanthropy is that even in “human” form, you still retain a lot of lupine traits. And taking that as a metaphor for Alex’s driving, you can see how Alex’s progression in Red Bull and his adaptation to high performing cars makes him out-drive the current Williams car.
HOWEVER. I don’t actually think Alex’s driving career has as much to do with why he’d be a werewolf as the simple fact that: Alex himself loves the act of transformation. All F1 drivers have some level of appreciation for change to do what they do, but not only does Alex transform himself to specific situations, he also just transforms himself for fun (re: dying his hair on a monthly basis).
Okay now on to criteria number 2:
2. Wolves are intrinsically shaped within a pack structure and need constant connection with their species to prosper. In that same vein, there is often a lone wolf vibe to werewolves in media because they are expelled from both natural human and wolf societies as a stage between the two.
Not only does Alex Albon have a big ass family (I say big but it is of course relative, but wolves do live in family structures made up of 5-9 members) but he has an entire zoo of animals (I am actually not even sure how many but at least in the double digits). This man screams pack structure. And this is not only shown in his actual family life, but also in his interactions with his teammates and friends on the grid. Alex Albon is a social animal and that's what wolves are.
Now, for the "lone wolf" aspect, of course Alex is in a very self-centered sport. But, drawing from my own experiences, being of mixed race can also feel very lonely. You're not 100% one or the other because there are always going to be aspects of yourself that depend on the fact that you're both. Alex Albon is both British and Thai and has said himself that it can be difficult (for example: "when I'm doing well I'm British and when I'm doing poorly I'm not British").
A large part of the overarching lycanthropic story is trying to find connection when you've constantly been isolated. For Alex, I see this most in the change from Red Bull to Williams. Red Bull is a lone wolf structure and Williams is a pack structure and we all know which one Alex has thrived more in.
Moving on to criteria number 3:
3. Werewolves in media have their senses dialed up to 11 and they often emote more and act in certain ways that feel more instinctual.
I don't feel like I have to say much about this. Alex Albon is the king of emoting. It's impossible for him to hide his emotions, when he's annoyed he looks annoyed, when he's happy he looks happy. And often this shows itself in strong ways (the iconic meme of him yelling "George").
HOWEVER! (I've been saying however a lot but still, however) a big big big thing in the overarching werewolf story is control. You have to have control to be palatable, to not outcast yourself or give yourself away. That's why I think even though Alex doesn't blow up like Yuki, or have his emotions literally bursting out of his body like Daniel, he's still a really good representation of how lycanthropy can (hypothetically) make you present your emotions in a very large way.
Bonus Criteria: Looks
I have focused on personality and storyline for the most part of this post and for a reason. However it must be said:
Tumblr media
Does this man not look like a werewolf?? I mean, honestly, idk what y'all think a werewolf looks like, but this is it. The wider, flatter nose, the shaggy hair, the eyebrows. Even his chin man, idk how to describe it.
Anyway, this is where I rest my case. If this gets any attention, I might attempt to do a post on why I think vampire!George is totally realistic, but I am much more a werewolf enthusiast than a vampire enthusiast so we'll see. If you got to the end, congratulations, you deserve a cookie.
Werewolf!Alex Albon forever.

Sorry, deleted the other one because I noticed a couple of mistakes here and there, and the lack of tags on the original was bugging me
Yeah, another poll just for fun. What the question says, if you were a monster at Monster High, what kind of monsters would you be?
I tried to put the most popular ones, as Tumblr only gives 10 options.
In G3 Frankie is both called a simulacrum in official media and " Frankenstein monster" in the show, so my guess is that Simulacrum is the broad "species", with Frankenstein monster being their specific species. Other simulacrums are Hoodude or Robecca. So basically, any being that is created instead of born or transformed. Gingerbread man, Elle Eedee are other examples
G3 werewolves and werecats fall both under "werebeasts", so my guess is that any "humanoid animal" would be similar ish, like were-bears or were-seal.
Elementals we have only Heath as a direct example, and since Cupid was suspected to be a Bone elemental, my guess is that they're being based on some kind of matter, but unlike simulacrums, they are born the "normal" way. I'm also assuming that stone elementals are somewhat different from gargoyles like Rochelle and plant elementals are different from plant monsters like Venus.
And Sea Monsters you can also be more specific if you want (Even can become Luca Style sea monster) because most of the characters in the GSR movie are classified as sea monsters, but are wildly different
Some of the ones that don't have the "specify" can also be played with a bit, as Vampires come in "traditional" flavour like Draculaura, or "emotional vampires", like Kieran. Zombies can be also traditional, like Ghoulia, or resident evil style, like Moanica.
Some characters are a bit ambiguous, like Batsy, I would classify as a were-bat, but some people put her as a vampire... So yeah.

The Blood of the Covenant
Description: A trans woman languishing in college is invited by a goth girl to meet "real vampires" and gets far more than she ever bargained for.
Rating: 18+
Warnings: blood, gore, sex, pain, transformation
Blake didn’t believe in vampires. Or, so she told herself. However, accepting an offer from the weird goth girl in her biochem class to meet “real vampires” had been a lot easier in the light of day on a crowded college campus. Now that she was stuffed into an ancient Jeep Cherokee bouncing down dirt roads beneath a dark canopy of autumn trees, Blake wasn’t so sure agreeing had been the best idea.
Too late to turn back now. Blake hazarded a look at the car door next to her: locked tight, and they were going so fast that getting out wouldn’t end much better. She gripped her jacket and sat back. Another bump sent her flying off the seat before landing back down with a thump and cry of pain. The goth girl in the driver’s seat didn’t seem to notice.
“Are we getting close to, um, wherever it is we’re going?” Blake asked, rubbing her head.
Given the goth’s silence, Blake didn’t figure that she’d answer. And at first she didn’t, so Blake almost jumped when the girl looked up and replied, “Very close.”
The Jeep took a turn on two wheels, sped through a grove of trees, and emerged into a clearing under a dome of stars. The car ground its way up a gravel drive towards a collection of buildings that Blake took a moment to realize was a mansion. The haphazard structure looked to have been built with different styles and shapes stretching back ages. A couple lights burned in the misshapen windows.
The goth girl parked the car and shut off the engine, bathing them both in darkness. She turned to Blake. “Are you ready?”
Blake gulped and ran a shaking hand through her hair. “Do I have a choice?”
“A choice? Of course,” the girl said. She looked at Blake with concern. “Did you think I was kidnapping you?”
With a soft laugh, Blake could feel her face turning red. “Well, I mean, you kinda drove me all the way out here in the middle of the night so…”
The girl opened the car door and stepped out. “I live here,” she said. “You’re welcome to stay away; I can drive you back or get you an Uber.” She smiled and flashed her teeth, which for a second Blake could swear had two large fangs. “But I promise you’ll have a lot more fun here.”
Blake hesitated, then opened the car door and got out. She wiped her hands on her jeans and grimaced at the sweat. Her blouse was sticky and stuck to her body. The goth girl walked over to her and held a hand out. “Don’t worry, I was nervous my first time too,” she said. “I’m Jenny, by the way.”
She took Jenny’s hand. “Blake.”
There was a point where Blake figured she should have let go of her hand, but when Jenny led her into the house and started walking her down a couple hallways Blake held on. Jenny didn’t seem to mind. From her vantage point, Blake also couldn’t help but notice that in the light of the mansion Jenny’s tight black jeans and blood red heels made for a view that she couldn’t complain about. She smiled.
The hallways of the mansion grew longer and narrower the further they went on. Blake began to breathe heavily. She could have sworn that this place was smaller on the outside, but tried to dismiss the thought. Instead, she flapped her shirt to try to get some air and promptly ran into Jenny’s rear with a startled cry.
“We’re here,” Jenny said as if she didn’t notice. She pointed to a large, red door. “You still want to see vampires, right?”
Blake stood up and dusted herself off. “I mean, I kinda figured that was a come on, not-”
“Do you or do you not?” Jenny insisted. Her voice was soft, but her grip on Blake’s hand was like a vice. “You must choose.”
“Okay, I get it,” Blake said. “Yeah, I want to. I mean if this isn’t some, like, elaborate prank or whatever and everyone from class is going to jump out.”
Jenny responded with a smile. She twisted the doorknob and ushered Blake into a new room deeper into the mansion. Unlike the others, which had been defined by low ceilings and cramped passages, this room was expansive and at least a couple stories tall. The only way Blake could tell they were deep inside the building was the lack of windows.
If there had been an idea of what a vampire’s lair would look like in her mind before, Blake was sure this wasn’t it. The room was well lit and covered in shag carpeting. Bean bags, couches, and recliners were arrayed in a semi-circle around a huge media center with multiple televisions and every model of game console Blake had ever seen. Elsewhere around the room was a shining kitchenette, a pockmarked pool table, and huge stacks of books.
Jenny let go of Blake’s hand and bounced over to a red leather couch. On it lay a woman who looked no older than thirty dressed in a pink hoodie, sweatpants, and her messy black hair tied up with a purple scrunchie. She was working her way through a book with dozens of colored tabs sticking out of the pages. Not exactly vampire material, Blake figured. The only other person in the room that Blake could see was a boy about her age on a recliner with dark hair, dark eyes, and wearing nothing but a sweater and socks.
While Blake stood at the entrance to the room, Jenny whispered in the woman’s ear. She couldn’t tell what they were saying, but Blake knew it was about her when the two kept staring her way. Finally, the woman closed her book and rose with Jenny to make her way over to Blake.
Blake kept her hands to her side and tried not to stare. Her face flushed. Dammit, how could this girl look curvier and hotter than her in clothes like that? She clenched her fists and closed her eyes until she could tell the woman was standing in front of her.
“What do we have here?” she said with a giggle. “Don’t tell me you brought another shrinking violet to me, Jennifer.”
Jenny crossed her arms over her chest. “She’s more spirited in class, I swear! I think she’s just nervous her first time.”
The woman rolled her eyes and turned to Blake. “Do you have a name?” she asked. “Speak, girl.”
“Blake Aneska, ma’am,” Blake said. She blinked and smacked her lips. Her mouth had said the words without her telling it to. “What the fuck?”
“Charming,” the woman purred and scratched her chin. “Nice to meet you, Blake. My name is unimportant, but you may call me Lady Bless.” Her eyes flashed. “Do so, now.”
“Yes, Lady Bless,” Blake blurted out again. She slapped both hands over her mouth and narrowed her eyes.
Lady Bless doubled over laughing and slapped her knee. “Oh, Jennifer, you were right! Just a little manipulation and this one looks like she wants to put her hands around my throat.” She composed herself again and flashed Blake a smile bearing two large fangs. “Just a trick, dear, nothing more.”
Blake lowered her hands, but the glare stayed. “A vampire trick?”
“Duh. It’s just a little puppetry, don’t take it so seriously.”
Jenny stepped in and held up her hands. “See, Blake, you were wondering if this was a prank but you can see it’s not, right? Well, I mean, besides the y’know…” She lifted her lip to show off fangs, looking sharper and longer than they had before. “Besides those.”
“Uh-huh,” Blake said and stepped back. Her hands shook. “I don’t suppose this is the part where the both of you start drinking my blood, is it?”
“Why, are you into that?” Lady Bless asked, then howled when Blake jumped. “Oh come on, I’m just fucking with you. All you humans are down for it.” She turned and curled a finger at Blake. “But no, I want to know more about the girl Jennifer brought for me. Let’s sit.”
Without meaning to, Blake followed right after Lady Bless to the couch. When she sat down, Blake sat beside her closer than she ever would have normally. She shivered.
“Is it bothering you to have me puppeting you?” Lady Bless asked once she had situated herself. She chewed on one end of her hoodie’s drawstring. “Most people we bring here are into that shit.”
Blake looked down at her thighs. “I think I was misled about why I was coming here. I thought Jenny was just saying all this stuff to be cool, not to take me to her vampire mistress or whatever.”
“I think you’re right,” Lady Bless said. She stroked Blake’s head through her hair, making her shiver. “Too bad though, you’re cute. If you want to go back we won’t stop you, but if you’ve made it this far why not stay?”
Blake didn’t say anything, but she didn’t leave either. “And if I stay, what are we going to do?” she asked.
Lady Bless shrugged and pointed towards the numerous remotes on a coffee table in front of them. “We could watch just about anything you want. We could read. I can get Jennifer to make us tea. Or…we can talk about you.” Her lips curled into a smile. “More specifically, what we can do for you.”
“Why do you want to do anything with me?” Blake asked. “I’m a rando that Jenny asked over here and took the bait. Aren’t you supposed to, like, eat me?”
“Only after a few dates first,” Lady Bless said and Jenny snickered. “But no, you aren’t a ‘rando’ if you made it this far. I ask Jennifer to bring me those she feels might make a good fit for our little…club. If she brought you here, she must have watched you for weeks or more to try to determine if you were a good candidate.”
Jenny bowed. “Guilty as charged.”
Blake wasn’t sure if that made her feel much better. “Okay, fine,” she said, “if I am supposed to be here then what do you want to know?”
The woman took her time to answer. “Jennifer, give us some space,” she said. Jenny bowed and headed over to the kitchenette. Lady Bless then turned back to Blake and stroked her back. When Blake didn’t pull away, Lady Bless asked, “For starters, I would like to see you naked.”
Blake coughed and sat up with a start. “What? No, I mean,” she stammered, “Isn’t that sudden?”
“Is it?” Lady Bless asked.
“Well, yeah, I don’t think I could ask the same, right?”
Lady Bless shook her head. “I am happy to show myself to you if you wish. There are no boundaries to such things in this place. I was simply interested to see your body.” Her eyes flashed. “Jennifer indicated you may be special.”
Blake felt the blood drain from her face. “Oh.”
“Oh?”
“You mean you want to see me naked because I’m a trans woman.”
“Yes,” Lady Bless said without hesitation. “I have not witnessed someone such as yourself in my time as lady of this home. I was interested that you may have more to offer than other girls who stalk these halls.” She put her hands into the front pocket of the hoodie. “If I was out of line, forgive me.”
Blake felt the knots in her stomach untwist ever so slightly. Something about the woman so plainly speaking her mind and her apology helped. That, or maybe she just liked a powerful vampire asking for her forgiveness.
“Do you promise this isn’t a fetish thing?” she asked. “Like you didn’t just bring me here because I have a dick, right?”
Lady Bless grinned, eagerly displaying her fangs. “It would never cross my mind to treat a prospective sister of the night like so much meat,” she said. “If you do not wish to display yourself, do not do so. I simply ask, no puppetry tricks.”
After a moment’s thought, Blake stood in front of the couch. Her fingers fumbled for the hem of her shirt. What the fuck was she doing? Sure, the vampire lady was hot but still this was crazy. And yet, that didn’t stop her from raising the shirt over her head or unclipping her bra to let it fall to the floor. She could feel every eye in the room on her when she took three tries to unclip her belt so she could slide her pants and underwear off in one motion. And just like that Blake was naked in the middle of a vampire’s lair.
It took most of her willpower to not look down. She knew what was there already: skinny chicken legs leading up towards pudgy thighs and tummy and little buds of breasts on her chest. The air of the room was cold and made her aware of how thoroughly she had waxed her hair for what she had thought was a date with Jenny.
And then down there was that…thing. The thing which she didn’t like to name and would have preferred to ignore except for some inex-fucking-plicable reason was so excited to be shown off that it had already risen to full mast. It didn’t help that, well, to Blake’s embarrassment it wasn’t exactly small.
“There,” Blake said. “Is that what you wanted to see?”
Lady Bless clapped and nodded. “Much more than I had hoped for, in fact. You are not the shrinking violet I took you for at first if you are so willing to display yourself this way.” Her eyes lowered to Blake’s crotch. “Certainly not shrinking…”
Blake resisted covering herself and instead put both hands on her hips. “Thank you.”
“You are very welcome,” Lady Bless said and lay back. “Now, why don’t you tell me what you want to do with it?”
There was no energy to her words; it was a simple suggestion. Blake rubbed her arm and gulped. She wanted to look confident, but knew she looked clammy and a mess instead. Still, she wasn’t about to admit that outright. “I don’t want to do anything with it,” Blake lied. “What does this have to do with being a vampire?”
Lady Bless laughed. “Nothing at all,” she said, “I’m just horny.” She stood up on the couch so that she could stand over Blake, who realized that the Lady was quite short. “Tell me about your cock and what you want to do with it.” Her eyes shimmered. “Please?”
“Fine,” Blake said. “It’s big, okay?”
“Go on,” Lady Bless urged.
“It’s really big and fat and dripping,” Blake continued. “Like it’s…it’s really fucking huge and sometimes I feel disgusting because it won’t ever stay down when I need it. When I feel like that I can only see myself as a…as a not-girl. Sometimes I just want to cut the whole fucking thing off.”
“Do you want to cut it off right now? I could get you a knife.”
“No, no it’s not that.” Blake’s hands shook. She couldn’t tell if the words belonged to her or were brought out by Lady Bless; frankly she didn’t really care which. “I don’t want to be here just for my dick. I want to fuck like an animal. I want to get weird and messy. But I can’t,” she said in a voice just above a whisper, “I can’t do this if I feel like that’s all there is to me.”
Lady Bless leaned forward from her perch and placed Blake’s face in her hands. She gently raised the girl’s tear-stained face and rubbed her cheek. “So tell me, Blake Aneska, what is it that you want for yourself?”
The words came easier and tumbled out of Blake’s mouth. “I want to feel like a real woman. Yeah, yeah, I know that trans women are women but I mean I want to fucking feel that. You know?” She sniffled. “I don’t want what I’ve got down there gone but I want to feel like I’m a woman attached to it.”
Blake shook her head. “No, I want to be the woman attached to it. I want fat tits, hips with curves, and hair that isn’t a nasty mess.” Her chest was heaving. “I want to be the goddamn hottest woman with the biggest cock anyone’s ever seen and make every asshole who’s ever been a cunt to me wish they looked even half as good.”
Silence overtook the room in the wake of her declarations. Blake fell to her knees and gasped for air. She grabbed at her neck and coughed, slowly regaining her ability to breathe on her own.
When she had regained her senses, Lady Bless asked her simply: “If you knew that becoming a vampire would let you have that, would you become one?”
“Yeah.” There should have been more hesitation, Blake figured. But fuck it, why not? Her mind flashed back to the boring drudgery of school, the tirades her parents went on if she dared act a woman in front of them, and a career of being her town’s most educated barista ahead of her. “Fuck yeah, I would.”
While Blake remained incapacitated on her knees, Lady Bless leapt off the couch and knocked into her. Blake fell to the soft floor while Lady Bless stood over her, leering down with a smile that was full of teeth. “That’s the exact kind of shit I want to hear!” She dropped to her knees, one on each side of Blake, and pressed her face to hers. “I knew you weren’t going to be a pussy. Jennifer never fails.”
From somewhere behind them, Jenny uttered a curse of confirmation while the Lady kept Blake close. Her fingers traced circles across Blake’s body as she rubbed them with glee over the girl beneath her; across Blake’s chest, shoulders, face, and sides. “Fuck yes,” she gasped.
“What the hell are you doing?” Blake mumbled while Lady Bless rubbed fingers over her teeth.
“Feeling my new sister,” Lady Bless said. Her fingers left Blake’s mouth to grab the sides of her head and lift her face to the vampire’s. The Lady kissed her suddenly, squealed, then kissed her again. “We’ve waited so long for this, haven’t we?” Before Jenny could answer, Lady Bless stuck her tongue into Blake’s mouth and then retracted it. “Fuck, I want to feed from you so bad. Your blood is going to look so fucking pretty in my mouth. Please, please, please can I?”
Blake opened her mouth but no sound came out. She could only stare at the vampire Lady, looming over her with crazed eyes and gripping her shoulders with what Blake now realized were claws. She wasn’t sure what had come over the vampiress, but from the way her mouth hung open with two looming fangs she wasn’t sure about finding out.
“You’ll have to forgive her,” said a new voice from above.
Looking up, Blake saw the boy she had spotted standing over her. He kept his arms behind his back and gazed at them both with dark red eyes. He shook his head while patting Lady Bless’s back. “She has been holding back this entire time,” he continued. “Once she accepted that you’d make a good vampire, she wasn’t exactly able to control herself.”
Blake looked into Lady Bless’s pleading eyes. “So what, is she going to bite me and that’s it?” she asked. “Or is it like…weirder?”
“Oh it’s absolutely weirder,” Lady Bless said, breathless. “Way kinkier, too. Well, if blood is your thing.” She giggled and scratched Blake’s face. “But if Jennifer scouted you, it must be.”
She didn’t reply, but Blake knew her burning face answered for her. “Fine,” she said, “so what exactly does this involve if it’s not biting me?”
Lady Bless traced one sharp nail over her lips. “Oh, I’m going to bite you,” she said, “but that’s just the start. Turning into one of us isn’t easy. You won’t be yourself by the end, but that’s the point isn’t it?”
“Yeah, I guess.” Blake sucked in a breath and let it out slowly. “Okay, well, I don’t exactly have anything else to do or somewhere else to be. If you guys really want to make me a vampire, may as well get it over with.”
With a beaming smile, Lady Bless climbed off of Blake and helped her up. She held the naked girl’s hand and led her to the center of the room while the boy and Jenny accompanied them.
“Alright, you both know the drill,” Lady Bless told the other vampires. “Hold her while I give her the first bite. Gently now, she isn’t prey; she’s going to be one of us.”
Blake yelped from the touch of the boy and Jenny on either side of her, but didn’t pull away. Their grip was warm and they held her like she was a fragile thing while Lady Bless raised Blake’s arm and turned the wrist towards her. Her fangs gleamed in the light.
“Now then,” Lady Bless began, “do you, Blake Aneska, of sound mind and body accept the gift of vampirism and pledge yourself in the blood of this covenant to be one of us?” She traced Blake’s fingers one by one, careful to avoid the veins of the wrist. “We have moved quickly tonight, far faster than I would have believed. This is not a decision to be made lightly, and we will not judge you for rejecting this offer. Do you understand?”
Blake nodded and she continued. “To be a vampire is to accept a gift of immortality. You will live as long as you wish and will no longer be human. The blood of the darkness from ages past will flow through you and with it you will gain powers you never dreamed of. But it comes at a price.” Lady Bless’s brow furrowed and she squeezed Blake’s hand. “You must drink blood to retain these powers. To do that, you must kill; whether human or beast it does not matter. You will be branded a monster, a traitor to your kind, and a murderer. And none of those accusations will be false. To accept this gift is accepting, too, the curse it carries. Do you understand?”
There was a chill in the air and the Lady’s words hung heavy in it. It was one thing to embrace a new body and life, but another to take on its consequences. Could she be a murderer? Could she drink nothing but blood for the rest of her life? Blake wasn’t sure; but when she thought back to what lay outside the woods and back at the college she could see no other way. There was not going to be any way that she could back out and leave this behind; not now that she had tasted it. All she could do was take a drink.
“I understand,” Blake said. “I accept your gift and its consequences. I refuse to back out of this, because whatever’s in store for me can’t be worse than what I’ve already gone through.”
“That’s my new sister,” Lady Bless said, then kissed Blake’s wrist. “When you are ready, tell me.”
She didn’t hesitate this time. “Now.”
Like a sword into its scabbard, Lady Bless’s fangs slipped into Blake’s wrist. She hissed and felt the warm grip of the other two vampires grow tighter. The veins around the wound bulged as the Lady’s fangs drove deep before she pulled them back out. They left behind a ragged wound across Blake’s wrist that spurted crimson blood from the new holes. Before much could spill, Lady Bless pressed her mouth to the wound and began to drink.
Blake shuddered in pain. Her head was pounding and spots flashed in front of her eyes. Blood tests to get estrogen had been one thing, but this was an entirely new level. Spidery veins grew across her arm and spread to her chest as more blood continued to flow into Lady Bless’s mouth. For her part, the Lady drank in silence, though not without eagerness.
Before long, Blake began to sag in the vampires’ arms. Her feet began to lose their strength and she could feel her vision drifting. Her eyes were so heavy, heavier than they had been before. Sleep, that was what she wanted. A sleep that would last a thousand years.
Just as she began to drift off, however, Lady Bless licked the wound and it closed shut as fast as it had opened. All that was left behind were two neat, bloodless holes that marked her as one of them. Lady Bless then leaned over and gave Blake a bloody kiss on her cheek.
“It’s done,” she declared, “and now the rest of your journey begins.”
Lady Bless held Blake’s hand as she tried to stand on her own feet. Her legs shook and she began to topple over, causing all three vampires to grab her. Blake coughed and looked at all three of them. Their faces had lost the haughty gleam from before, replaced with lines of concern.
“I just…wanna nap…” Blake mumbled, slumping over in Lady Bless’s arms.
Jenny tapped Blake’s cheek. “Hey, c’mon, can’t sleep yet,” she said. “You just need some blood. Chace, help me with her.”
The boy, Chace, picked up Blake at first under her arms. However, when Blake slumped forward again he picked her up under her back and legs and held her like a bride. A warm feeling spread through her as Blake rested her head against his chest. She giggled and smiled.
Chace smiled back at her. “Ladies love a man who can sweep them off their feet,” he teased.
“That means I’m a lady,” Blake said dreamily in return.
That made Jenny laugh, and both Chace and Lady Bless joined her. With Chace holding Blake as easily as a doll, Lady Bless led them out of the room and deeper into the mansion. Blake’s head lolled back so she didn’t see where they were going, only the glow of lights hanging in fixtures ranging from ancient to modern. Her eyes fluttered open and closed, and she could not tell how much time had passed. If she had been told they’d been walking for days she’d have believed it.
Eventually their little party reached another room and the door slid open. Blake was brought to a gargantuan pool; one that was only a few feet deep but long enough to fit dozens of people. Chace walked into the pool and set her down on the shallow bottom, letting the warm water surround her. Blake shivered and sank low into the shallow depth.
While Chace remained in the water, Lady Bless and Jenny stood above. They kept their hands laid across their bellies and looked at her very quietly. The effect would have been greater had it not been for the fact that Lady Bless was still in her hoodie and sweatpants while Jenny had not changed out of her goth outfit.
Chace stood over her. “To complete your transformation, we must first build you up by opening ourselves to you and letting you taste; both of our blood and of our souls,” he said in a thumping voice. “Then, we must tear you down by exposing you, your innermost self for all to see. When it is done, you will have shed your false skin for a new one: your true self.” His voice softened. “Are you ready?”
Blake nodded.
In response, Chace began to remove his clothes. As he was only wearing a sweater and socks, that wasn’t hard. He dropped them into the water beside her and stood nude. He was a powerfully built man, supple muscle and rippling sinew across his broad chest and toned stomach. He was covered in fine black hair across his arms, chest, and legs; a trail of thick hair led from his belly button to a magnificent bush between his legs and the slit that lay there, gleaming at her. His cock rose hungrily from his cunt already and Blake blushed at its sight.
His body shivered as Chace used his claws to cut deep lines across his chest. Blood dripped and gushed from the wounds and ran down his stomach. “Drink,” he said while pointing to his crotch.
Blake didn’t need further instruction. She rose from the water just enough to bury her face between his thighs. Her nose sank deep into his bush and with every breath his thick odor filled her. Her mouth reached for and found his dick, throbbing with desire while rivulets of blood dripped off of it. She sucked up each and every last one while she took him into her mouth. His cock warmed her and she lapped hungrily at it and the blood he fed to her.
A hand grabbed the back of Blake’s head and tugged her face upward. Her eyes looked up into his, red with passion and gleaming in the reflected light from the water. What blood Blake couldn’t suck from his cock and inhale from his hair ran right onto her face. It was his marking, and it made Blake shudder. She eagerly fought to have every inch of him inside her and wrapped her lips tightly around his dick. When he shoved her face so deep between his legs that she could not keep her eyes open, Blake whined with need.
Chace’s blood ran thick over her tongue and down her throat. Its copper taste made her lick it up eagerly like a gift from above; which, she supposed, it was. She was sloppy and let it cover herself and her tits but she didn’t care. Blake kept lapping at every drop until at last Chace’s wounds closed and he stood once again whole and unharmed.
The boy reached down and kissed Blake’s cheek. He smiled. “You did well, new sister,” Chace said. “I am thankful to be your first. Remember my taste whenever you feed.”
Chace stepped out of the blood-stained water and stood by Lady Bless, still nude and at attention. Blake lowered herself into the water to wash some of the blood off her skin, but most she simply left to dry and stain.
Blake didn’t get much time to catch her breath. No sooner had she washed herself than Jenny stepped into the pool to join her. Where Chace had stripped himself, Jenny chose to let her clothes get soaked and cling to her skin. It was impossible not to notice her curvy body, with round hips and a chest that was made even more prominent as Jenny ripped her shirt open to expose herself to Blake.
The tattered pieces of cloth floated on the water while Jenny squeezed her tits between clawed fingers. Her flesh was pale against the darkness of her clawed fingers. “Like ‘em?” Jenny teased. “Becoming a vampire has…benefits.” She raked her claws over one breast until the skin bled.
Taking the breast in her hand, she offered it to Blake. “Drink,” she said.
There was no need to tell Blake twice. She fell to her knees, her chest just above the water, and locked her lips around Jenny’s tit. She suckled it hungrily without need for instruction. Whether it was the vampiric lust for blood or something more basic in her she couldn’t say.
Blake’s tongue lapped at Jenny’s nipple. Her groans filled the room and she reached up, touched, squeezed Jenny’s softness between her fingers. Her body shivered and hot blood trickled into her mouth. There was more than she could possibly gulp down and it spilled across them both. Hers wasn’t like Chace’s; his had been powerful and intoxicating like jet fuel, but hers was sweet and thick as milk.
A hand grasped at Blake’s head and she flinched. Then when she looked up and saw it was Jenny stroking her head she shut her eyes and went back to her suckling. The hand ran its way through her shaggy, unkempt hair with delicate precision. It traveled down her neck to her back where it gently petted her.
“That’s it,” Jenny purred, “you’re being a very good girl.” She laughed and kissed Blake’s forehead. “You like this, don’t you? Oh Bless may have an eye for your wilder side, but I can tell a girl who is desperate for affection when I see one. Oh no, don’t try to hide it, it’s quite…clear.” Jenny reached down to stroke the head of Blake’s rigid cock until it leaked for her.
Jenny kissed her again. “Don’t fight it,” she cooed. “Just relax and suckle my blood like a good girl. You’ll need lots now. Let me take care of you.”
Blake didn’t fight the way Jenny’s hand began to stroke her shaft nor the way Jenny picked Blake up effortlessly to sit on her lap like a pet. Her mind was too fuzzy instead while her lips moved on their own. Just as her tongue licked at the cuts in Jenny’s skin, so too did Jenny’s hand stroke quickly on Blake’s throbbing shaft. Some part of her brain laughed at how the blood was rushing right into her and straight to her crotch.
The cuts began to close up on their own, which only made Blake more desperate. She was so close her legs quivered and she humped into Jenny’s hand. She needed a release, needed the blood for it, and she fought desperately to keep the cuts open. Her sharper teeth bit at the skin and whines escaped her throat. Her hips pumped into Jenny’s grasp while her toes curled.
Her release came just as the blood stopped. It hit her like a truck. Blake’s screams echoed through the hall while her balls pumped load after load of cum into Jenny’s waiting hand. There was more than she had ever seen before, more than she could have hoped to produce; she felt like a geyser.
Jenny’s arms wrapped tightly around her and held her close. “Good girl, just let it all out,” she said. “You’ve been pent up in more ways than one. You must release all this before you can join us.” The entire time she kept stroking, even as the water became cloudy from Blake’s orgasm.
Claws that Blake hadn’t known she possessed dug into Jenny’s back and she squealed. Her stomach heaved and she gasped for air, but at last it was over. Her dick, empty, retreated to its soft state while Blake gasped for breath.
“What was that?” she asked between gasps.
Jenny kissed Blake on the lips and smiled. “What you’ve been needing all this time.”
Blake tried to stand on her own, but fell back into the water as her legs gave out. Her knees couldn’t stop shaking. Jenny leaned down and wrapped her arms around Blake, lifting her out of the water effortlessly and setting her on the edge of the pool.
Lady Bless walked over and put a hand on Blake’s forehead. Blake winced; its heat stung. Her mouth was wrenched open by Lady Bless who ran a finger over Blake’s budding fangs and peered into her eyes. She then flipped Blake’s hand over to look at where her bite had been; dark veins trailed up her arm from where the fangs had entered her.
“It’s taking well to you,” Lady Bless said. “How are you feeling, Blake?”
It took her a few moments to form words again. “Shaky,” Blake said at last.
“It’ll do that,” Lady Bless said. She held out her arms and turned to Jenny. “Give her to me. I’ll finish her up.”
Blake squeaked as the two vampires transferred her like she was a lost puppy they were inspecting. Lady Bless cradled her, despite Blake’s height advantage, and kissed her forehead. Blake quickly kissed her back; she had meant to get it on Lady Bless’s heart but managed to miss and kiss her boob instead.
“Eager one, aren’t you?” Lady Bless chuckled. She began to carry Blake towards the other end of the pool room, towards a door that Blake could have sworn hadn’t been there before. Jenny and Chace followed, though kept their distance.
Lady Bless talked without looking at Blake. “You have passed through the giving of your new family unto you,” she said, “but now you must give unto your new family.”
“I thought I already gave you some of my blood?” Blake asked.
“That was only to begin the process,” Lady Bless said, “and in any case only blood. You have not yet given to us the bone, the muscle, the skin…”
“Is it going to hurt?”
“Probably. Does that frighten you?”
“Yes.”
Lady Bless kissed Blake again, tenderly as a mother would. Even for her stained sweatpants and old pink hoodie, the Lady’s presence filled Blake until she tucked her head into her Lady’s shoulder.
“Are you doing that?” Blake asked.
“Of course,” Lady Bless said. “I cannot take away the pain, but I can give you a reprieve from the fear. I would be a terrible Lady of the Night if my powers could not soothe you.”
Blake nodded. This time, she didn’t object to being puppeted. Instead, she clung on tightly to the Lady while she was taken through the door that hadn’t been there and down a hallway that was longer than Blake had thought possible until they at last reached a new chamber. It was the most plain and simple room yet, one without any furnishings but a bed so wide it could fit a dozen people on it. The bed was pristinely made and done up in white.
Lady Bless crossed the bare concrete to deposit Blake on the bed, where she rolled onto her back. Lady Bless wasted no time and began to remove her clothes while Jenny and Chace flanked her. First the hoodie was tossed aside, then her pants kicked off, and finally her underwear lay in a crumpled heap beside the bed.
Blake gasped. Lady Bless was unlike what she would have thought a vampire Lady to be, but nonetheless beautiful. Lady Bless had a soft, plump body with wide hips and thighs that framed a pussy covered in hair. Her breasts sat on her chest in big handfuls, resplendent with the same stretch marks that traced their way down to her round ass. The Lady smiled when she saw Blake staring.
“It’s okay dear,” she said, “a body like mine was made for staring.”
She crawled onto the bed towards Blake while the others followed. Soon, Lady Bless was atop Blake on her hands and knees, staring down while her nipples gently brushed the girl’s cheeks. “You have taken gifts from us,” she said in a soft voice. Her arms once more embraced Blake and brought her up to rest in her lap. “And now we will take from you, sweet girl. When we are finished, you will be one of us. Do you understand?”
Blake nodded. “I do…I think.”
“Good enough.” Lady Bless turned Blake so that her back faced Chace and Jenny and her eyes were on the Lady.
Lady Bless raised a finger to Blake’s throat. It grew into a claw as she traced a line across it, just enough to scratch it without breaking the skin. Then, after a couple passes, she sunk the claw deep into Blake’s throat. The girl made gurgling sounds from the blood filling her mouth as Lady Bless carved her way from one side to the other. It was not quite enough to take Blake’s head from her shoulders, but plenty to empty a rush of blood all over the both of them.
Blake kept her eyes locked on the Lady. She couldn’t speak any longer, so only nodded her head. The warmth filled her heart as fast as blood rushed out. It hurt, but not enough for her to scream. She sank her own claws into the Lady’s back to steady herself. She was glad for it when seconds later she felt talons from Chace and Jenny sink into her back.
While Lady Bless had so elegantly sliced her jugular, the two vampires behind her dug like animals into her. Blake winced and rested her head on Lady Bless who drank her fill from the cut she’d made. Chase wrenched his entire hand into the small of her back and she could feel his fingers wrap around her spine. With one snap, she could no longer feel her legs. Jenny, meanwhile, ripped chunks from her back and chewed on the muscle and sinew that emptied out of her.
“You’re doing so well,” Lady Bless whispered to her, mouth slick with Blake’s entrails. “I’m so proud of you. Just embrace this feeling, it will be over soon.”
There wasn’t much else Blake could really do. There was an odd numb feeling as she felt more of herself ripped out her back. She felt sure one of her lungs was gone, but it wasn’t as if she was really breathing anyway. The blood that came out of her was an impossible amount. It sloshed out of her in waves from her back and throat and covered the bed until the red had turned to black.
Something broke with a crack inside her. Her head boiled. The warmth was everywhere, it was hollowing her inside out. It was bliss, it was pain, it was…suddenly nothing. She looked down. Lady Bless held a heart in her hands. Blake’s heart, she realized. The Lady brought it to her mouth and kissed it. “It’s done,” she said and ate it one bite.
Blake ceased.
Then, she began again. Her eyes fluttered open. She looked up and saw Lady Bless stroking her face, her head in the Lady’s lap. Chace and Jenny lay on each side of her. She looked down and saw her body lay pristine on a clean bed. Not a single drop of blood.
“Was that a dream?” she asked.
Lady Bless took Blake’s left hand and put it over her chest. “Tell me what you feel.”
Blake listened for a moment. “Nothing,” she said.
“Correct,” Lady Bless said.
“So…I don’t have a heart?”
“You have joined us as one of the living dead,” Lady Bless said. “If it helps, your heart was delicious.”
Now that she could look closer at herself, Blake noticed that her skin had faded and lost some of its color. Her original bite wound was almost gone as well. Yet her skin was warm, as if it were still living.
She ran hands over herself, over her naked new body. It was curvier now than it had once been, with wide hips and a chest that at last fit her frame after hormone replacement therapy had not seen fit to bless her. Her hair was long and silky, and her skin was smoother than even when she had spent the night waxing every hair she could find. And, to her embarrassment, feeling herself had given her new, longer, and more refined cock a reason to stand up on its own.
“Pretty great, isn’t it?” Chace asked, running his hands over her belly. “I remember when I woke up like this and almost cried.”
Blake nodded and felt her eyes begin to water. “I think it’s more than ‘almost’ for me,” she said.
Jenny squeezed her hand. “I knew when I saw you for the first time you’d be perfect,” she said. “It’s always nice to see I was right.”
Lady Bless’s arms squeezed Blake close. She looked less the matron of a vampire family and more a soft woman with messy hair and lines around her eyes. Her fangs glinted warmly in the light as she leaned down to kiss Blake. “I love you,” she said.
“I love you too,” Blake echoed. She thought for a moment. “What do we do now?”
“Whatever we want,” Jenny said, and Lady Bless affirmed her with a nod.
Blake cocked her head. “If that’s true, can we rest now?”
“Of course,” Lady Bless said, then giggled. “Anything for our special girl, our new sister. There will be time later for so much more. We have such sights to show you.”
And so Blake was lost again in a pile of bodies atop her, warm beneath them as the four vampires tangled in one another in a restful haze. They were blissful, they were doing what they wished, and for the first of many days that lay ahead Blake was truly happy.

Hello…! I came across some of your posts on Urban Fantasy Vampire- Werewolf stuff (such a fun idea!) and I was interested. So anyways I have to ask, what are your rules for how they work? I tried finding them myself but I couldn’t find much specifically. Could you help me out here please?
Oh dear, rules... I write vampires and werewolves so much and I write them so often that I don't really have one set of worldbuilding rules for them. One of the fun things is to re-imagine them to suit their particular story! There is so much folklore and fantasy history to draw from you can write both werewolves and vampires with incredible variety and they'll still feel recognizable!
But if I look at all my writing the most reoccurring elements are probably:
My vampires usually...
Don't have to kill the people they feed from. (Because it's sad and impractical.)
Can also feed on animals, but it makes them a little weaker and it probably doesn't taste as good.
Get very overwhelmed drinking from certain humans, other vampires, or people like werewolves, because the blood tastes different or there is something Special about it that makes them drunk, clingy or whatever I like them to be :)
Can share some of their magical healing with humans by feeding them their own blood. (Because it makes everything much, much easier.)
Are severely damaged or outright killed by (direct) sunlight, because they can't be too powerful, but don't automatically go completely unconscious during the day.
Are vampires because they were intentionally turned by another vampire, not because they died in a certain way or were only bitten.
Are not harmed by religious symbols, simply because I'm not very comfortable writing about religious faith.
My werewolves usually...
Can't transform at will, but do not only transform during the full moon. Meaning they either get toothier and hairier the closer it gets to full moon, or it's very tied to their emotions and they get sharp teeth or change eye colour when they lose their cool or act on instinct.
Sometimes struggle with being a werewolf but don't hate being a werewolf and don't turn into uncontrolled monsters when they turn. (That's a great narrative element if you write tragedy or darker fiction, but that's not my jam.)
Can be very dangerous, but generally don't kill people and are more likely to eat a lot of rare steak before the full moon than to hunt living animals once transformed.
Are physically complete wolves as long as the full moon is in the night's sky. (Doesn't matter if the moon is behind the clouds.) They might keep their full human reasoning and be able to do things a normal wold never could, but they do not walk on their hind legs, don't use their paws as hands and cannot talk.
Are harmed specifically by silver, but are not invincible to everything else, even though they are very strong, have a high pain threshold and heal quickly.
Are werewolves because they were born that way, not because they were bitten. (Cause that's sad. And I prefer having big happy werewolf families.)

Happy holidays @yoshiintheweb !!! This is my gift to you for the @mcytblrholidayexchange. I hope you enjoy!
I saw Vampire Fwhip in your requests and got very excited, because I have been obsessed with Dracula this year. I hope you enjoy this Roseblings/Wither Rose Alliance vampire au! The playlist has songs that are vampire-coded (to me), as well as songs that just fit the vibe. The fic is epistolary like the original Dracula novel. It's sometimes serious, sometimes silly, and hopefully a lot of fun to read. Fic under the cut :)
Fwhip’s Diary, Sept. 17
So, my teeth are definitely getting sharper.
That shouldn’t be a surprise, but it’s definitely going to take some getting used to. You don’t just wake up to your teeth being different and say “Oh yeah, that’s not weird at all. Totally fine. Already adjusted to it.” Like, you don’t realize how well you know your teeth until they’re wrong. Ugh.
It is fine though… I think. We still have time before the transformation is irreversible. Between Gem and I, we’ll figure it out soon. That’s what we’ve always done.
It’ll be fine.
Right?
Gem’s Diary, Sept. 22
I finally got my hands on that book on vampire lore! Who knew the occult section of our local library would be so popular? (And to that, who even knew our local library even had an occult section??)
It has the best recipe I’ve found for a blood replacement meal for Fwhip, and this one doesn’t even need any sheep’s blood or expensive coconut water! Fwhip seems to like it pretty well too, which is an added bonus.
The rest of the book was pretty useful, beyond the basics (avoid sunlight, garlic, wolfsbane, silver, giant stakes in the heart, you name it.) It had some pretty good tips on how to slow the transformation, and of course what to do when we find the vampire who started all this.
We still don’t have any leads on said vampire, but I’m optimistic. It’s most likely they’re in this town or the next town over since they usually have to rest in their original grave during the day. Honestly it’s not surprising, all things about our local history considered...
Fwhip’s Diary, Sept. 30
We finally told Sausage. He wasn’t really buying my “sudden garlic allergy” story to begin with, and he was asking a lot of questions, so we figured we might as well let him on it instead of keeping secrets from him. And he’s taking the news pretty well actually! It turns out one of his cousins is a werewolf, which is… not quite the same thing? But his heart is in the right place.
He’s really enthusiastic about helping us with all this, which is helpful because he’s the only friend we know with a car. We want to drive to Dogwood Grove to investigate one of their graveyards. It’s the oldest one in the county, with a proper mausoleum and everything. Maybe we’ll find that vampire’s hideout and get him to turn me back. Maybe we won’t even have to use the crossbow I’m building.
Gem’s Diary, Oct. 2
This isn’t strictly related to our research, but I thought it was interesting. The author of that vampire lore compendium, X. Thorn, also wrote a book on demonology, and I was curious enough to check it out too.
Apparently Thorn was an expert on all things occult, but also just a little… weird. I suppose that comes with the territory. He wanted to summon a demon army and conquer the world. Or maybe become a demon? It wasn’t super clear by the end of the book to be perfectly honest. He was kind of obsessed with some demon called Xornoth that he wanted to summon (or maybe it was his demon-sona? it’s not really clear which of those it was, and he published these books like a hundred years ago so we can’t exactly ask him.) Incidentally, Thorn was from right here in Rivendell. I wonder if we’ll come across his name any more during our search.
Fwhip’s Diary, Oct. 3
Well, Sausage was the only friend we knew with a car. Now we’re all out of luck.
Last night we were coming back from a research trip to Dogwood Grove when a white fox ran out onto the road in front of us. Sausage swerved and luckily missed it, and his car wound up in the ditch. We’re all safe, if a bit shaken, but his car is totaled.
It’s weird… I didn’t know we had many foxes in these parts, much less arctic-looking foxes? I mean, I guess that’s not the absolute weirdest thing about this town (I’m literally turning into a vampire right now), but it’s still unusual.
In any case, we need to figure out a new ride soon. The recipe Gem found for substitute blood is fine, but I’m starting to get thirstier. A lot thirstier...
Gem’s Diary, Oct. 5
I’ve noticed Fwhip isn’t sleeping much anymore.
He stays up most of the day when we’re doing our research, although he can’t go outside without SPF 1000 and my old floppy beach hat. At night I usually find him in the garage working on his inventions. He’s always been a gearhead, but he only ever throws himself into his work to this extent when something is seriously bothering him. When I ask him how he’s taking all this he insists he’s fine, but… well, I’ve known him my whole life. I know when he’s lying.
There have been a couple recent incidents at night when I wake up in the small hours to find him standing at the bedroom window just staring. I call out to him, but he doesn’t hear me. It seems like he’s sleepwalking, which is something he’s never done our whole lives. After a few minutes he turns, looks at me with eyes that look right through me, and silently goes back downstairs. I ask him about it in the morning but he doesn’t remember any of it.
Fwhip’s Diary, Oct. 9
Good news, we found someone with a car who’s willing to help us get around! Bad news, it’s Sausage’s cousin… the werewolf.
Gem’s Diary, Oct. 9
Don’t get me wrong, Pearl seems really nice, and I’d probably get along with her great in any other circumstance. The problem is, well, the circumstance. I guess vampires and werewolves don’t exactly get along? It’s hard to describe the feeling I get around her, but I’m just so uneasy. I mean, for her part she’s polite to me, even if she might feel the same as I do.
I guess it’s good to have her on the team, and anyone to help us fight the vampire who turned me is good to have along. I just don’t want to have her around any more than we need to for right now. I’ll talk to Gem about that in the morning when she wakes up, hopefully she’s on the same page as me.
Pearl is the coolest person I think I’ve ever met. She has a van called Gilda that’s covered in sunflowers, she lives on a farm, she’s a classically-trained fencer, and she’s a werewolf?! I love her. I want her to join our group and also stay forever.
Fwhip’s Diary, Oct. 13
Gem found something in one of the books about hypnotism, and we decided to give it a try. It’s supposed to help slow the transformation process, which would be good because I feel less and less like myself every day.
The thing is, when I was in the trance I kept getting these visions. There were shapes I couldn’t make out at first, and a smell of somewhere damp and musty, and the sound of stone on stone. But then I saw myself standing in a cemetery, right in front of an old mausoleum. There was an angel statue next to it which was pointing at the doorway, and a great big oak tree behind it. I really get the feeling that I’ve seen this before. I just can’t remember where.
I’m not really sure if the hypnotism is working to hold off the transformation. My teeth – fangs, really – are sharper than ever before. And last night I dreamed I was flying through the night sky on dark wings. At least, I hope it was a dream.
Gem’s Diary, Oct. 18
We found the mausoleum from Fwhip’s vision! And get this, the family it belongs to? The Thorn family. That’s right, the same X. Thorn who wrote all those occult books. Somehow I knew he would come back up.
I did some more reading, and it looks like Thorn had a half-brother named Scott. Scott was actually one of Rivendell’s mayors, and he and his brother had a couple of public clashes that led to him stepping down from his mayoral seat. Then a few years later, he just apparently disappeared without a trace. In one of his last journal entries before his disappearance, he lists a bunch of symptoms eerily similar to vampirism: aversion to sunlight, sudden allergies to nightshade-family plants, and he couldn’t bring himself to enter the cathedral he had once attended regularly. If I’m right that Thorn was behind those incidents, we may have a solid lead. I’m going to see if I can find a picture of him to show Fwhip. That may help to confirm it.
I think we’re getting very close. I just hope we’re quick enough.
Fwhip’s Diary, Oct. 18
As soon as Gem showed me a portrait of X. Thorn, I knew that was who we’re after. It was just an old painting, but it sent a chill down my entire body. I would know that face anywhere. That’s the face that keeps me up at night. Those were the eyes I saw that night. The eyes of Xornoth, Dark Lord of the Night.
I know what we have to do now. Even if it destroys me, which the books say is about a 50/50 chance, we have to stop Xornoth for good.
I won’t let this happen to anyone else.
Gem’s Diary, Oct. 27
I’m starting to agree with Fwhip about garlic to be honest. We just had to buy, like so much. Garlic cloves, garlic flowers, garlic salt, garlic powder. It’s all for the binding ritual, which will hopefully go off without a hitch and get Fwhip back to normal without complications.
With the garlic, we have everything we should need now. Fwhip has his contraptions, I have the charged crystals, and Sausage got us some holy water. The only thing now is to wait for the next full moon.
Fwhip’s Diary, Nov. 6
Tonight was the night. It took a while for us to prepare everything, but we finished right before dusk. We all waited just outside the mausoleum door until we heard the scraping of stone against stone. Not long after, we heard an unearthly growl. That was our cue.
We found him trapped in the binding circle, spitting and hissing. When he saw us there, he got quiet for a second, and then started to laugh. This is the part I’d like to say that we were super cool and didn’t cower at all… and you know what? This is MY diary, and I want to keep my cool image. So yeah, we were like, “Hey Xornoth, turn me back into a human NOW or else we’ll send you back to your grave.” And he was like, “Oh no, please spare me! You’re too cool and that crossbow is super sick and-”
Gem’s Diary, Nov. 6
That’s not what happened.
Fwhip’s Diary
Yes, it totally is!
Gem’s Diary
Oh my god.
Fwhip’s Diary
Alright then, how would you tell it?
Gem’s Diary
Sausage screamed and your voice cracked when you were trying to confront Xornoth. And then he laughed at you. Pearl had to be the one to force him into starting the ritual to turn you back.
Fwhip’s Diary
Well, you also screamed.
Gem’s Diary
I’m not denying that! I’m just trying to keep you to the facts. Geez.
Fwhip’s Diary
In any case, the process worked! I have a reflection in the mirror again, and my teeth are slowly going back to normal. And we managed to banish Xornoth, or Thorn, or whatever you want to call him, back to his grave for good. A win all around, I’d say!
The one thing left that’s bothering me is, I think we’re missing one of the vials of blood replacement from the fridge. Gem was meticulous when she made those, with a date labeled on each vial so we could track my intake. The only other people who knew about those are Sausage and Pearl, and both of them swore they didn’t touch it. I just hope no one drank it. It has nasty consequences if you’re not already a vampire.
Well, that’s a problem for another day. At least we know none of our friends were dumb enough to drink it, right?
...

A Zesty Kind Of Lepacy - Game Packs
If yall remember my Spicy Kind of Lepacy and Mild Kind of Lepacy, this is a continuation of that! Except this time it’s game packs! >:D
Usual rules still apply: gameplay mods, precautionary heirs, divorces and remarriages, are all still allowed 💗
Also, since I have multiple versions of these Lepacies now, feel free to mix and match the generations to suit the packs you have or don’t have! And most important of all, have fun!
I will TRY to make these generations be playable with just the corresponding game pack and the basegame, but I apologize if I make any mistakes by including things only available with expansions or stuff packs.
Rules under cut (I realize that having a super long post can be inconvenient!) (I ACCIDENTALLY REMOVED IT IM SO SORRY)
Gen 1 - Outdoor Retreat
(Colors: Dark Green)
The wilderness always called out to you, and what were you to do except answer? Even though you have a very mundane job, you can always find time to take a vacation and go enjoy nature.
Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast
Skills: Herbalism and Gardening
Career: Business or any boring-sounding career
Goals:
Visit Granite falls as often as possible
ATTEMPT to finish the Outdoor Retreat bugs collection. You don’t need to complete it, just get as many bugs as possible and display them in your home.
Find the Hermit and marry them. If you cannot or the Hermit is not of your sims’ preffered gender, marry one of the roaming bears instead.
Have regular trips to Granite falls with your family
*Mod Optional* There is a mod out there that lets you live in Granite Falls. If you wish to do so you can acquire said mod and have your sim family live there instead.
Gen 2 - Spa Day
(Colors: pale blue and pale pink)
To your parents camping out in the woods was the best way to relax, but to you? You would much rather stay inside, go to a nice sauna, maybe even get a massage or a manicure! Hell, maybe you’d even preffer to be the one giving the massages and manicures.
Aspiration: Any of the 3 Spa Day aspirations
Skills: Wellness and Fitness
Career: Either choose any or make money through giving classes, massages, and manicures/pedicures
Goals:
Go to Spas, or lots that include spa furniture and equipment, at least once a week.
Have your own “at home spa” or relaxation corner. This can be just a room with a yoga mat in it. But you should always aim to make it bigger.
Get a different manicure every time you go to a spa, for funsies! Regardless of sim gender.
Lead a few yoga/meditation classes - you don’t need to make this permanent, unless you’ve decided to do so with the aspiration.
Have yoga sessions with your sims’ family, but have your sims’ kids have the ‘dislikes wellness’ prefference
**I forgot to write for Dine Out and it’s too late at the time that  I’m realizing this for me to rewrite all the other generation intros + it is a very glitchy pack and I’d rather spare you having to do an entire generation of that mess. But if you really want my take on it let me know!**
Gen 3 - Vampires
(Colors: Black and one other color)
Nobody talks about how hard yoga is. Or how easy it was for you to dislike it. But what did you like? Vampires of course! So much so that you made it your mission to become one. Nobody ever believed you though... until you showed up with new fangs on Winterfest’s Eve.
Aspiration: Vampire Family (or any of the other vampire aspirations if you feel this one doesnt fit your sim)
Skills: Vampire Lore and Pipe Organ (optional: Piano)
Career: Part Time Jobs (if you want your vampire to keep a low profile), Criminal (if you want your vampire to be a menace to society), or Astronaut (one of the careers that eventually takes place mostly at night)
Goals:
Start researching vampires as soon as possible. (I believe you can start learning the Vampire Lore skill as a child?)
Make friends with a vampire and have them transform you. + Move to Forgotten Hollow as soon as your transformation is complete.
Form a vampire coven (more easily done with the Get Together clubs system BUT you can just have a bunch of vampires that you’ve turned as good friends and that will count for this)
Marry a mortal and turn them into a vampire a a few days before they become an elder, so they can spend all eternity with you.
Have one of your sims’ children (doesn’t have to be the heir) take the vampire cure OR throw the vampire cure in this generation’s face, effectively and forcefully curing them of vampirism.
Gen 4 - Parenthood (Colors: Multiple colors, very colorful in general)
You’ve always had a big family - a coven can count as a big family, right? So when you moved out you decided that you wanted to have a big family of your own! Just not... through the means your parents did. (Unless..)
Aspiration: Super Parent
Skills: Parenting and Cooking
Career: Babysitter or just any career that sounds very parent-y / that fits your sim better
Goals:
Marry a sim with similar traits as your own. (Example: both sims have the Neat trait.)
Always use the ‘Try For Baby’ option instead of ‘WooHoo’. If you have mods that change how woohoo works in game have your sims never wear protection.
Have at least 1 of your sims’ children have all character value traits, be it positive or negative. As long as they get a trait for every character value, it counts.
Decide if you want to be a calm parent or a strict parent and follow through with that way of parenting till the end. (STORYTELLING optional: Have a favorite child/children that your sim treats differently. This is obviously horrible to have in a family and I do not condone favoritism, but it could be an interesting storytelling point.)
(OPTIONAL) I do not remember if the ‘On Ley Line’ lot trait came with an Expansion pack, but if that lot trait is available to you use it in every house your sim lives in once they reach adulthood.
Gen 5 - Jungle Adventure
(Colors: Emerald or Aquamarine + Orange)
Your parents tried their best with raising you and your siblings. And for the most part they were alright, but having so many siblings was really unnerving. So you decided to go live your lone fantasy of exploring the rich culture of Selvadorada!
Aspiration: Archeology Scholar or Jungle Explorer
Skills: Selvadoradian Culture and Archeology
Career: No career, make money from collectables
Goals:
Visit Selvadorada as often as possible and befriend as many of the people there as possible.
Travel through the Jungle and into the Temple any time you can - the Temple changes every time you visit, so with luck you’ll be able to discover new rooms and collectables each time.
Marry a fellow jungle adventurer (any sim you meet in Selvadorada that buys an adventuring item or looks like they’re ready to go adventuring), build a family with them, but have them ultimately die by poisening while exploring the Temple together.
Keep some of the collectables you get from the temple on display in your home.
Have 1 child (not counting precautionary heirs) and bring them along on Temple expeditions.
Gen 6 - Strangerville
(Colors: Pink and Purple or Earthy Tones)
Your parents always encouraged you to follow your dreams and explore new places, and what better place to explore than a creepy ghost town? Adventure calls!
Aspiration: Strangerville Mystery
Skills: Charisma and Logic
Career: Military or Blackmail sims for money (Yes, you can do that!)
Goals:
Finish the strangerville mystery or at least get as far into it as possible.
Marry a strangerville resident and eventually move into the more ‘rich’ neighbourhood with the bigger houses.
Eat one of the mother plant bizzare fruit to become infected/possessed. (I believe this can also be achieved by woohooing with a sim that has the infected/possessed trait)
Have an affair with a sim in the Military OR whoever runs the Curio Shop next to the trailer park. A child should result from this affair but it is a secret your sim willl never tell.
If you finish the Strangerville Mystery dedicate a room in your sims’ house to display different collectables and rewards you got along the way, including things you can buy at the curio shop.
Gen 7 - Realm Of Magic
(Colors: Whatever you feel is more magical)
You grew up hearing stories about this plant that lived under ground that was controlling an entire town. The heroic tale of your parent’s adventure gave you hope and inspired you to try and find your own fantastical adventure! You just didn’t quite expect to find a portal to another dimension.
Aspiration: Spellcraft and Sorcery or Purveyor of Potions
Skills: No need to max any particular skill but do try to learn as many spells/potions as possible.
Career: Who needs a career when you’ve got magic? (if you happen to have Romantic Garden Stuff use the wishing well to wish for money whenever possible)
Goals:
Have a home in Glimmerbrook but spend most of your time in the Realm Of Magic. The one lot in the realm is editable (or should be with bb.enablefreebuild), so you can make a room for yourself or, since the lot is 50x40, build or find a build of a small village that fits into that size of lot and choose one of the houses to sleep in. [I know this probably sounds really far fetched, but there are build out there of little villages instead of 1 house on a massive lot.]
Choose 1 school of magic and learn all the spells from it before moving onto any other school of magic. If you choose to go with Alchemy you must alternatively learn all the spells before going into sorcery, if you wish to go into sorcery.
Have a child with each Sage, if you can. The heir will then be the decided by who has the weakest bloodline. Being children of sages they most likely have the ‘Strong Bloodline’ trait, but since the other parent is not a sage tthere is still a chance that they get the ‘Weak Bloodline’ trait. If none have a weak magical bloodline then you may pick whichever one is your favorite.
Get a familiar early on and pass it down to the heir before they move out.
Collect all of the Realm Of Magic plants and have them in your own garden at ‘home’
Gen 8 - Dream Home Decorator
(Colors: Red and White)
To you magic was not about making a whole roast chicken appear out of thin air or setting random stuff on fire. To you magic was helping people get to a better place in life, see the joy in their eyes after giving them a brand new space to live and grow, a space to heal. THAT was true magic to you. And you wanted to bring that to everyone you could.
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Skills: Comedy and Painting
Career: Dream Home Decorator
Goals:
Get to know every client you have for every gig.
Date every client you encounter that ISN’T married or in a relationship.
Accidentally get pregnant/get your partner pregnant and only find out when you’re already with someone else.
Have a very close relationship with your child, even if you’re not quite sure who the other parent is (in the case that your sim is the one that got pregnant).
End up stealing a client’s spouse and marrying them as your final relationship, but have the next heir despise this partner.
Gen 9 - My Wedding Stories
(Colors: White and Black)
You saw your parent change partners quite often, more often than most really. But their last partner gave you a grand idea. You hated them that you thought, “why don’t I take this anger and direct it at my own romantic interests?”. Is that a toxic thought? YES, get therapy please. But is that going to stop you from becoming a Black Widow? Absolutely not.
Aspiration: Villainous Valentine
Skills: Mischief and Gourmet Cooking
Career: You are a gold digger, you do not need a career. But you can still have one if you’d like!
Goals:
Marry rich sims (or ones that you think are rich), even if that means breaking up marriages and families.
Have a luxurious home that you add more to every time one of your partners passes and you get their money. (Until this happens your sim will live with their spouse in the spouse’s original house, unless it’s not as big as your sim’s house.
Your sim is aiming to be a Black Widow, but you can choose how the spouses pass <3 If you have mods the choices can be quite chaotic.
Try your hardest not to have children with any of your spouses, but end up woohooing at one of your weddings and get pregnant/get them pregnant from it.
Have as many wedding events as possible. Or as many as you can handle, really. But the deeper you get with being a black widown the darker the dresses get, until at the last wedding needed your sim wear a fully black dress.
Gen 10 - Werewolves
(Colors: Flannel, baby!)
Sadly your existance was a literal accident, and your parent didn’t really give you much attention growing up. Everything you could’ve ever wanted was given to you, except emotional availability. And so you set out to go find someone that would give you the love and care you needed, and built your own little found family.
Aspitation: Any of the werewolf aspirations
Skills: Reach the top of the werewolf ranks
Career: You can have any career you see fit, it’s not too important here
Goals:
Get turned by Greg as soon as you move to Moonwood Mill
Become friends with both Wolf Packs before choosing which one to go with, or choose neither and just stay friends with them.
Become Best Friends with multiple werewolves, basically adopting them as your new found family members. They’re there for you in the ways you really need. You can also include humans into this found family, but other occults might have a harder time.
You don’t need to have children, but if you find your Fated Mate you can have biological children with your mate. You can also adopt a child if you’d like!
Have a simple cozy home where you can host many hang out sessions and parties with your friends and family. You finally feel like you belong, and you’re going to make the most of it <3
Happy Simming!!

hi hello & happy happy opening! i'm blue & this is xie ziying, local night terror edward cullen haunting the halls of sua! art student, red hall girl gang stan, & proud owner of a pretty pair of pearly whites that she's putting to dentist unrecommended use outside of regular class hours! here's a barebones profile & more info / plots under the cut, pls like to plot or ask for my d/scord & i’ll be there! 💗
Tumblr media
*tw for discussion of blood is marked out in the intro with brackets!
info
addressing these first: her teeth r sharp & she drinks blood... the vamp allegations r true. ( /hj. u will see )
anyway!! she mostly lived a fairly normal life, insofar as having 3 outta 4 ( now 2 out of 3 ) of a family being anomalies would be normal? has a big bro in huitian but their abilities are as different as they come, so the anomaly gene sure is abnormal!
she's always been the black sheep of the family, but only in the way that someone who's unconditionally loved can act out? like deciding to play the violin when you come from a family of pianists, before abandoning that all together, & being the sibling whose teachers keep calling... but the point is. she's grown up being loved by her family, & that sense of self & safe harbour has pretty much tided her through what would otherwise have been some awful memories
those & her chompers it's hard to fight someone if they're willing 2 mike tyson u
speaking of teeth... they're sharp i'm not kidding! has nicked herself many times, but this was also how she figured out how her ability works. pure trial & error & teething pains
so how do those powers work? ( tw blood mention ) basically, a lil sip of blood gives her a power up! if it's her own blood, she gets physically stronger with enhanced condition. if that sip comes from someone else, she adopts/transforms into one property from them, though she doesn't get to choose which! ( tw end )
she's completely fine with her ability & down to use it when needed or entirely unnecessary, though the fact that the fun half of her power is a random grab bag is sometimes to her detriment. she knows this because she's gotten someone's sleep deprived mental state once when she wanted their cool colour-changing irises 💔
at sua bc they had really effective advertising & her grades + power combination was bad enough that she was applying to any college that might take her in. swears she didn't mean to tag along w huitian but she did apply to sua... so...
art student, which means being on her sixth can of bacchus at ass o clock & permanent eyebags, having the worst style intentionally & calling it avant goth
applied to be evo's treasurer but doesn't believe in 'the cause' or wtv that is. she j wanted to mooch money off them. its working!!
personality deets she's got that libra sun ( i see it i like it ) taurus moon ( i want it i got it ) scorpio rising ( goth ariana )! we're starting off goth, but she's unsrs about it. only emo 4 the aesthetics. might be a stoner gal & attends all the house parties when they have good greens. very chill & laidback, lowkey doesn't care about anything until it comes to her art or her ego, then her secret perfectionist self rears its big head! likes a good puzzle but would never help someone else solve one even if they were struggling. lives mostly in the twilight hours & naps thru class. could be spotted on your roof today!
chara inspos are sunny baudelaire, himiko toga if she had a loving family, vampire vibes really
plots
writing that intro has emptied my brain & i only have the usual suspects: besties, enemies, fwbs, exes! red hall hot girls & ppl she's pissing off at evo bc the funds keep disappearing
will update more but i love a brainstorm too we should do that 💗

Corrupting Influences: Vampirism part 5
Tumblr media
(art by Defexx on DeviantArt)
 Conclusions
And so it is that we’ve reach an end to this special about the vampirism corruption in Pathfinder, and to our specials on corruptions in general. Truly it is an end to an era, but hopefully a start of new beginnings as well.
Before we share our final thoughts about the corruption itself, however, let’s take a moment to re-examine what vampires were throughout history. Certainly today’s corruption mostly takes it’s cues from the Dracula novel, but vampires have existed well before that.
Indeed, looking back on the oldest stories where the word “vampire” was used, it’s pretty clear that the concept of vampires, like almost every undead in pop culture, was born out of the idea of someone who is dead deciding not to act like it and wander around being a menace. In fact, the oldest stories of vampires make them seem more akin to what we think of now as a “zombie”, far from the glamourous unearthly beautiful immortals we typically think of today.
Over time, so many folk remedies to these undead horrors and stories of their abilities congealed into a vague grab-bag of otherworldly traits and rules, may of which survive to this day, such as the garlic weakness, fear of the holy, and so on, though others like the running water thing or the even more obscure rose on the coffin thing are typically forgotten.
In fact, such an eclectic collection of traits have lead to many audiences, (particularly western ones) conflating other similarly storied shamblers from across the globe such as jiang-shi or vrylokas as also being vampires or vampire-adjascent, or perhaps different strains of the same singular unholy malice (Looking at you, Vampire the Masquerade).
It is perhaps because of this combination of history and variability which has likely helped their survivability as a concept. Well, that, and Bram Stoker’s iconic novel, which you should read if you get the chance. I hear there might be an electronic mailing list that might help with that.
Regardless, Dracula was instrumental in putting vampires on the map, and perhaps most importantly, was a rare exception in that it was a gothic horror story where the horror in question is not limited to some dreary manor of a declining family, but in fact follows the protagonist home and really gets to show what happens when you unleash an intelligent undead horror on an unsuspecting populace.
Since then, vampires have evolved a lot since then, ranging from monsters to, well… attractive partners. Like all monsters, however, people tend to use them as symbolism, and not all of them were kind symbols, such as Carmilla, a story about a young woman who finds herself attracting the attention of an older woman who later turns out to be a creature of the night. Of course, folks have a tendency to reclaim symbols used to demonize them, so you’ll find plenty of LGBT+ immortals that are straight-up heroic in nature.
In any case, however, the vampirism corruption I find is that perfect blend of fun powers fitting the theme, while also establishing a certain level of urgency that some corruptions lack. For the victim it’s a nice bit of body and psychological horror rolled into one as their victimization weakens and then changes them, while those who don’t understand what is going on can only look on in powerless horror.
On the subject of the corruption subsystem, I suppose I ought to give my final thoughts on it as well. Horror Adventures the supplement had it’s flaws, but the corruptions were definitely a good idea, creating a way that a character can get a taste of the powers of “contagious” monsters, but giving them drawbacks not just in the direct penalties of each ability, but also in the lingering knowledge that things might go too far. It forces would-be powergamers that might deliberately try to gain a monstrous transformation to rethink doing so, or at least properly roleplay the challenges associated with it.
Overall I consider it a good subsystem, one that is both flavorful and mechanically fun.
And with that I don’t have much to add, so I’ll conclude. It’s a bit sad saying goodbye to a subsystem and special like this, but I’m always coming up with new things to do here, so it’s fine. Have a good weekend, folks, and look forward to more archetypes next week!

13. If you could draw effortlessly and as much as you wanted, what scene (s) would you draw for this character?
18. Do you prefer to see this character suffer or know peace? Angst or comfort? Both?
(character asks!)
13. I THINK AS FANDOMS WE FOCUS SO MUCH ON SHIPS WHICH IS FINE BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE JUST MORE QUIET MOMENTS OF MARIUS ALONE, BECAUSE HE REALLY IS SUCH A VERY LONELY CHARACTER? IVE ACTUALLY BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS A LOT AND ABOUT THE MENTAL HEALTH EFFECT OF SOCIAL ISOLATION ON VAMPIRES, LIKE SO MANY OF THE ONES WE MEET SURVIVE BECAUSE THEYRE AROUND PEOPLE ALL THE TIME AND MARIUS DOESNT HAVE THAT AND I WONDER HOW IT WOULD CHANGE HIM IF HIS SOCIAL NEEDS WERE MET
but wowie like
suffering alone in his cell
suffering alone in the Shrine
suffering alone while he paints his house even though the house is full of mortals but he's apart from them and can't really connect
suffering when he spends big sleeps in the shrine and wakes up dusty and disoriented
crying his eyes out in the garden after pandora leaves
ALSO WHEN HE'S JUST ON BENDERS KILLING SO MUCH HE'S SPILLING THE BLOOD HE CAN'T DRINK OR WHEN HE'S SCREAMING AND BEHEADING PEOPLE IN THE GARDEN ?? 🥵
but ALSO like, in general I would love to see more ancient memories because we don't get enough! I want to see him and Pandora in Antioch! Him and Mael the night the met! Him and Avicus! MAYBE THE MAEL'S HEAD SCENE? Him being groomed for his own murder! Him crying on the floor trying to clean Eudoxia's blood! Cuddling into the sarcophagus with Pandora! Making out with Avicus!
I was just thinking yesterday that next time I have money to waste I wanna commission art of him and Mael when they'd sit together and Mael would try to teach him songs. :(
18. I LOVE SUFFERING but i do like the contrast of hurt/comfort. We need the comfort to make the hurt gooder. But like I think !! Sometimes in different fandoms, you'll see that the themes of the source material pop up over and over in fics and stuff, and I think with VC it's such a huge theme that people just want to be loved, and how monsters can still be loved, and how we are not our worst deeds, that we can fuck up and still have value.
And it's a theme that I think gets applied unevenly in the canon, especially in the later books as Anne was just like keyboard smashing the blorbos and having fun. So like, since the POVs are so Lestat-Heavy we get a lot of Lestat knowing he's a bastard and still desiring love and goodness, and then other characters are loved unconditionally and we never really acknowledge that they're bastards, or I think steps get skipped where Lestat essentially winds up being the flawless Mary Sue character who is never accountable for anything he does--we still make it from Point A (fuckup does something terrible) to Point B (he is still loved) but I think it becomes less nuanced in the later books and we don't really spend time with the redemption arc. (An example is like, TOBT is ALL about how he fucks up and we really look closely at it and work through it, vs in the PL trilogy when he like noncon bites David and it's all fine and we don't even talk about it.) And using Lestat as an example because he gets the most screentime, but Marius is exactly the same, and it's further complicated that we never get POV from characters who dislike him LOL.
So to answer your question like, I love seeing him suffer because I love angst LOL but I root for him, I want him to know peace, and I think the story has a lot more potential for nuance than what we got in the books, which is why fandom is here. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF TRANSFORMATIVE FICTION LOL. (To me lol, that's my mission here.) But if he doesn't suffer first there's no real value in his being at peace, that's boring LMAO where's the FLAVOR where's the CONFLICT; let him fuck up and suffer and destroy his entire life first so that we have a puzzle to work out to make his way back.

Uuuuuh you know what, mini bios time.
Zara
16
She/They ( demi girl)
Witch/Magi* ( in training)
Aroace
^ in my head, she hasn't fully realized this yet.
Kinda a grump, keeps to herself most times, but is also a little gremlin.
Always wears a witch hat bc she thinks it looks cool + it holds her stuff ( like her baseball bat)
^ has a baseball bat. No she does not play baseball ( I think she would like it tho)
Wants to learn fireball but it's HARD ( she has a natural affinity to plant n death magic than anything else)
Sees that Bo is tired and tries her best to not cause many problems for him.
Molly
16
She/Her ( cis)
Half - Vampire
Pan
Knew Zara ever since they were babies
Very bubbly and sweet. Very popular at school.
As a half vampire she doesn't need to rely on blood as much as her dad, but does enjoy blood based smoothies.
Doesn't like transforming into her more monstrous bat form cause she thinks she looks ugly :(
( currently) has a Interest in photography!
Grace
16
She/Her ( trans)
Werewolf
Lesbian
Childhood friends with Zara and Molly, though she came a little later.
Number 1 Instigator and Enabler
Still the most level headed of the three. She just likes to have her fun.
Is the class president. Has dreams of actually being someone that can cause change in the world. ( She doesn't want to be an actual president tho)
Is the oldest of 4-5( still figuring it out). Really good big sis, love her sibs ( all of them are adopted btw and are different types of supernatural)
Bo
25
He/Him ( trans)
Null*
Gay
90% of the shit Zara likes is bc of him. Unfortunately that also includes her desire to cast fireball. Minecraft.
Works a shit ton of jobs since their moms are constantly busy with work and thus need to be out of the house. So, essentially, he's Zara's legal guardian.
^ so far I know he works in retail and as a freelance bounty hunter ( being a Null means he doesn't get cursed by cursed items). But he works other jobs too.
T i r e d and incredibly depressed but keeps going for Zara.
Hasn't been in a relationship for years after a very shitty ex. Wants to start again ( with Jarah lmao) but is still nervous.
Genuinely a sweet guy despite his appearance ( tall, muscular, rbf and has tattoos n piercings). He dreams of opening a potion shop, since that's the only way he can do magic without having magic.
Aliyah
25
She/her ( cis)
Human
Bisexual
Has been best friends with Bo since middle school or high school. They've been ride or die ever since.
Number One babysitter when Bo is busy or just needs to fucking crash for the day. She's essentially the girl's big sis.
Family came from a long line of Monster Hunters, but uuuuuuh. Nowadays the supernatural and humans are ( kinda) chill and monster hunting like that is looked down upon. She was still trained to fight but overall she doesn't care.
Is an aspiring journalist, but works at a shitty place. How's bounty hunting with Bo to make sure he doesn't die and relieve stress.
Wants a girlfriend ( or boyfriend) so bad but alas. No luck.
Losing braincells over the bo n jarah thing ( she knows)
Jarah
25
He/Him
WizardWitch/Magi
bisexual
^ I don't think he knows this yet.
A prodigy of magic, was pretty much pushed into magic as soon as his parents realized his potential. He went to an elite school and everything. Pretty much the top of his kind.
He wasn't happy however, no matter how much he tried to convince himself he is. He always loved baking. Meeting Bo and Aliyah actually made him quiet his old job and work at a cafe.
^ his parents were not happy about that. Been strained ever since. Though maybe it was always strained
Constantly has restricted his abilities, out of habit and fear of them. Still offers to teach Zara about magic though.
Feelings for Bo is mutual, but he doesn't realize this for a while. When he does he....kinda panics.
Moving in from that, he loves baking, and is very skilled at mixing magic into it, enchanting flavors and emotions. Everyone loves his sweets :)
*Magi is the general term for magic users in this world. Witch, Wizard, and the like are ultimately just titles, but each has their own history with it.
*A Null is someone who is born with an immunity to magic, but at the cost of not being able to perform it. You cannot become a Null just to be clear. Bo was born as a Null, he never became on, got it? Good.
And yeah that's everything I wanted to share.

What We Do in the Shadows: A Weekend at Morrigan Manor/Exit Interview (5x09/10)
Oh boy. Lots to discuss.
Cons:
The biggest con I have here is... well, if Guillermo was going to be made back into a human at the end of the season, I wish we'd gotten to see more of vampire Guillermo. I actually don't mind narratively this turn where he goes back to being human, but why couldn't we see a whole season of him getting to be a bat and go flying and do all the other vampire things, in full-swing? That way the fact that he's not ready would hit a little harder: he can't bring himself to drink human blood, which is the only way he can continue to be a vampire, even though he's experienced all the perks. I just think that would have been a more fun way to play it. Instead, we spent a whole season waiting and waiting to finally actually see vampire Guillermo, and we... never fully got that at all. He did look good with those fangs, though.
Pros:
The Morrigan Manor stuff was so charming and fresh and different. I truly had no idea where this episode was going to go, from the invitation, to the amazing fencing choreography with Lazlo and his large group of combatants... I even thought the Guide's role in the story added something fun.
All season I've been complaining that they haven't done enough with the whole vibe of her being an outsider, but in this episode, when she finally takes matters into her own hands, I did feel the weight of her relative insignificance all season, finally coming to bear. I realized pretty soon she had to be behind all the disappearances, but it was still fun to see it play out. And I like how she acts as a contrast to Guillermo, who now feels included in the group in various ways. One good moment is at the beginning, when the recording says "six of you" and they're confused about the number six, because they were forgetting to count the Guide. Which means they think of their family as being five people, and that includes Guillermo. So sweet!
And the moment of truth... everyone else trying to distract Nandor form realizing the big secret... Nadja: "I like this cage." That was so funny. The reason that a ridiculous show like this works is that when they want to play up something other than the laughs, they don't shy away from that. All season we've been told that once Nandor learned the truth about Guillermo, he'd kill him and then himself. And then he finds out, conveniently locked in a silver cage, and what does he say? That he's going to kill Guillermo. It's not funny, his rage is played 100% earnestly.
It's also cut up really humorously with Nandor instantly figuring out why Guillermo is only a half-baked vampire. His slayer blood from his Van Helsing family is interfering with his transformation. Everybody else is just like "ohhhhh" but I think this is such a great detail to include, that Nandor actually pays attention and knows enough about Guillermo, has given all of this enough thought, that he instantly knows what's going on.
Lazlo remembering the right tape to play to get the Guide to forgive them was also really funny. I knew instantly there would be a punchline where they undercut their kindness towards her right after Lazlo has the tape cut off, and I like that the Guide doesn't see the mid-credit bit like we do, where it turns out they're trying to get Colin to fall in love with the Guide so they become a couple and move out and leave the rest of them alone. Lazlo continues to get my season MVP award, for being clever enough to manipulate the Guide!
The second episode is full of so much great Guillermo goodness, I don't even know where to start. I think the big thesis of this season is that Guillermo is family with the other vampires in the house. He already achieved that closeness, and in fact it was sort of in spite of becoming a vampire, not because of it. We see it in the way that Nadja, Colin, and Lazlo all sneak off to say goodbye to Guillermo, as they believe he'll be dead soon at the hands of Nandor. The episode with the Guide reminded us that these vampires are never necessarily going to be open about their feelings; they'll care about each other on their own terms, and it doesn't mean they don't treasure those relationships. Guillermo has learned that now, and that being a vampire, something he still greatly wants, isn't the only way to connect with his chosen family.
I love that Nandor just straight-up murders Patton Oswalt, like, he's dead within the What We Do in the Shadows universe now and it's so fucking funny. Especially the fact that he gives good advice, Nandor kills him in punishment, and then is like "he has a good point, though..."
And again with this show knowing when to play something dead sincere, I love how Nandor's grief and anger is over-exaggerated but one hundred percent earnest, too. He says that he can't imagine anything more painful than having to kill his friend. And then he makes a promise to Guillermo, holding a stake to his own throat, in his original language of Persian, that he will spare his life. It was... well, it was charged, to say the least.
Also played entirely sincere was Guillermo's grief and discomfort over the thought of killing people. It's rendered comedic by the fact that he's killed so many vampires, and lured so many innocent humans to their deaths, but it makes sense that the actual drinking of innocent human blood would feel different to him. Nandor knows him well enough to understand that this isn't what Guillermo really wants.
There's something so narratively satisfying and also funny about Nandor being the one in the dark all season, having no idea what's going on, and then once he's in the know, he has sole custody of the only damn brain cell in the whole group. He figures out how to forgive Guillermo, he figures out what his friend really needs, and even guides him into discovering that for himself.
Even Derek gets a happy ending, hopefully to make friends with his new zombie brethren, where he might fit in the way he never did among vampires!
I've seen a lot of people online disappointed with this finale, calling it an anti-climax and a letdown that Guillermo and Nandor didn't kiss on the mouth or whatever. On some level I do understand that disappointment, in the sense that I wish we'd gotten to have more fun shenanigans with vampire!Guillermo while we had him, instead of this half-assed version of it all season. But at the same time, that's the nature of this kind of comedy show. If you divert from the status quo, the show kind of... ends. And we've seen such huge development this year for Guillermo, in the way he is now given the kind of respect from his chosen family that he's long pined for.
And that's that for season five! I really deeply love this show, all the crazy shenanigans of this bizarre cast of characters. I'm ready for season six whenever they have it prepared for us!
