Ai bootlickers need to go back to preschool, or kindergarten, and they need to be handed some construction paper, and some elmer's glue, and some fucking crayons, and figure out what it feels like to fucking make something. I'm so sick and tired of hearing from people who have no clue what it means, or what it feels like, to be creative.
"The fearless, the ruthless, these alone will achieve victory."
One small sentence in the midst of Boromir's increasingly fervent rant, and it is such a statement of precisely what is untrue to Tolkien.
Ruthlessness certainly is no virtue, most people who really think about the text can pretty quickly come to that conclusion. But even more I want to hilight fearlessness.
Because Frodo is afraid. He admits it. Sam knows it. And I will never believe that during all this, Boromir is not afraid. But one of them owns up to their fear, and the other wishes only to charge through it. I ask you, if Frodo were not afraid of Boromir when he attacked, or if he ignored that fear, what would have happened? If Frodo had insisted on facing the wraiths alone rather than cross the ford, what would have happened?
Frodo knows he's not gonna win a fight against a warrior twice his size. He knows he wouldn't win a fight against Sauron. He is scared, and right to be so. He is also unbelievably brave, but that doesn't mean he never hides, never runs, never weeps, never accepts help.
"The fearless alone will achieve victory" is the kind of thing that lotr dudebros who call Frodo weak genuinely believe. And all I can say to them is, read the book again and pay attention this time. Or, more likely, watch the movies again and pay attention this time. Most importantly, get right with yourself because that sort of macho hero-fantasy goes hand in hand with personal unhappiness.
Fear exists in us to protect life. Say what you will about the ways that instinct can go astray, but life is precious, and from that angle, fear can be virtuous indeed.
Of course it is good to be courageous. But that is not the same as being fearless, and actually you can't be both at the same time.
I remember Karl mentioning that his Adam and Eve plan would result in a new race of vampires with human feelings and mortality. In the end, it's the Diaboys that will get fucked over the most :') They'll have to see Yui and any potential children die before them while they get to live forever...
// To be honest, I don't think Karl's plan is all that important. They'll most likely be free to do whatever they want with their lives after he dies, without having to worry about creating a new species if they don't want to.
Or… in case Karlheinz is alive, they could just pull an Ayato and confront him like this:
“No matter what happens, I decide my own fate!”
I have to admit that it would be extremely sad for them to outlive Yui... But perhaps after she passes away, they will decide to do the same? A sorrowful scenario anyway. :(
I am begging you guys to actually read what the dada art movement was about before shitting on the fountain urinal art piece as well as art installations that are "strange" or "doesn't make sense" and isn't some art piece that immediately wow's the crowd.
Like the whole movement is suppose to challenge your perspective of art, but it's also made to make fun of the societal norms of art. You guys need to understand that art wasn't all freedom. Back then if you didn't follow the norms of art you would be thrased in public and wouldn't make a living. Even if you decide to go a little bit out there with an art piece, you would be shunned and your efforts would be mocked.
Dada art movement was basically looking at the art norms that were pressured by society onto artists during World War I and going "Fuck you. I get to decide what is art, not some group of people. " and then proceeding to make something that would outrage, confuse and make the public question what is truly art.
Are you mad that some urinal is considered art and write a whole essay on the internet? Good. That's the fucking point of the art piece you idiot.
So happy to see Xavier posting one of the gayest Justice pictures ever on their official IG. The picture that is on all the physical copies of the new album... What a glorious era for all the shippers fr
