homelander hearing fifteen seconds of a bass-boosted song playing on your phone repeteadly, and sees how you keep your eyes glued to the screen with this look of fixation, and when he hears your heartbeat pick up his jealousy acts up and is about to remind you that he’s right here and you better stop with this shameful oogling, but when he peeks over your shoulder he discovers you rewatching an edit of him over and over again and oh. oh okay. but why am i moving in slow-motion??

“It’s a thirst trap,” you explain, smiling sheepishly.

“It’s a what?” Homelander looks more bewildered than you’ve ever seen him.

“You know, like… to make people thirsty.”

His eyes narrow slightly. “No, I don’t know.”

“Thirsty. It’s spicy. It makes people insane.”

“I’m starting to question your comprehension of the English language.”

“Horny!” You finally blurt out, gesturing with your phone. “It makes people horny. They’re sexy videos set to sexy music of sexy people.”

The way it clicks in his brain is nearly audible. He huffs a laugh. “Well, you should have just said that. That makes sense.”

You roll your eyes, but can’t keep the smile from your face. “You’re going to be insufferable about this.”

He gives a noncommittal shrug. “You’re the one watching it on repeat.”

Sure enough, you hear him humming that same tune for the rest of the day.

What is it like on your home planet? On Earth we have two continents called the Artic and Antartica at each end of the hemisphere, which both remain at uninhabitable cold temperatures year round, no matter what season each side of the Earth is in. Due to your family’s naming scheme (well, apart from your son’s name) being related to the cold, I was wondering if your planet had a similar disposition to those continents?

Also, why is your son named Kuriza? As mentioned his name doesn’t seem to fit the family theme-that is unless the name has a specific meaning in your language?

Planet Arcos was a barren, frigid place. Surviving there meant becoming as cold as the planet itself, or so they say… I’ve never actually been; the capitol was abandoned centuries ago. My father used to go back and forth with himself, debating whether to destroy it outright.

And on the topic of Kuriza…

His given name was meant to be Algid Pola Cold, but after he was born my men started calling him “Kuriza” on account for the little point on the top of his head, and it just sort of stuck. Algid “Kuriza” Cold it was, and shall forever be.

Since I see Yuno as a big touchstarved bug, I can definitely say it's physical affection for her. Just being close with Leona honestly makes her feel better if anything, and I don't think he will complain about having a exclusive weight blanket 🫢🫣

But Leona (even if I die on the hill that this man is the biggest on quality time), I just KNOW he gets flustered at words of affirmation when he's in a relationship, even more if someones pretty bold like Yuno, who doesn't actually thinks too much before speaking her mind out loud. So he pretty much prefers verbal affection. Bonus points if it is alone so he doesn't have to pretend that it didn't affect him.

She's so supportive that sometimes he just can't.

really obsessed with soulmate au’s recently and it got me thinking… what if john’s soulmate was part of the boys? a girl trying to kill him with an entire group of people also trying to kill him… and he’s fated to her? could picture him finding out and just putting his hands on his hips while turning his back to her and doing that click chuckle thing. just in utter disbelief but it is definitely on track for fate’s little play with him and his life lolol

Oohhh, you know, I've never played much with the soulmate au concept, but this struck me just right because I can so clearly see the slow, building meltdown that strikes him when that reveal drops.

The mirthless laugh, shaking his head, the hapless gesture to the ceiling before his hands drop. "Of course. Of course it's you. Why wouldn't it be? I mean—Christ, it makes sense, doesn't it? Every single person who was supposed to love me has-has fucked it, so why—" he keeps cutting into this escalating, unsettling laughter. There's nothing funny about it: you're sure that you're watching someone lose the last shred of their sanity in real time. "Why would my 'soulmate'-", he says, miming big, dramatic quotation marks. "-be any different?" That manic grin has shifted into tight baring of his teeth, a vicious sneer. He closes in on you, stands so near you can feel the heat of his breath when he hisses, "I should put you in the fucking dirt with the rest of them."

It should be terrifying, but it's hard to focus on anything other than the glassiness of his eyes. The sheer devastating heartbreak of it all, telegraphed clear as day in the way he carries himself. His eyes flare red, sizzling up the tears before they can fall. "And then you really will be all alone," you say. Maybe it's the hopelessness of the moment, maybe it's the shock of learning for yourself that he's supposed to be your one and only, but you feel numb. Frayed in a way you didn't know you could be. The crimson light of his eyes disappears in an instant, revealing surprise, followed by a wounded kind of look, before that familiar seething rage returns. "We'll see about that."

What works (art or writing) are you proudest of this year? Do you listen to music when you write/draw?

Oh, that is very sweet of you to ask, darling.

That's a really tough one! Looking back, I created so much this year, so it's not easy to pick a favourite. I'm very proud of my supercorptober this year, I honestly can't believe i finished it.

But I think I'm proudest of the commissions I made this year, because each drawing made me push my art and my style so much that I felt like I improved immediately after each one. Pieces like Red Lantern Kara, Iron-maiden Lena, Worldkiller Kara, and stargazing supercorp. I was so blessed to get to work on such amazing ideas and so thankful for each one.

I don't listen to music usually when I write, mainly because I don't really sit down to write like a normal person and just end up writing in on random inspiration bursts. I usually watch stuff on YouTube while I draw though. It's probably the ADHD in me, but I need the constant brain stimulating to focus.
