Saturday mornings in the Castellan household were hectic to say the least. But that wasn’t surprising, considering the fact you had a house of two kids, a dog, and an adorably idiotic husband.
And while you usually loved it, sometimes it could be pretty exhausting.
“Babe?” You called out, striding through the house, a pram in one hand and a packed lunch in the other.
“Yeah, in here honey!” Luke replied from the living room, laughing slightly at something.
You walked in to see him sat on the couch, bouncing your baby daughter on his knee while the girl laughed with glee.
Normally, you’d sit down beside him to coo at your daughter and all her little facial expressions. But this morning you had things to attend to, such as laundry, taking your son to soccer practice, grocery shopping. You didn’t have time for distractions.
“Did you wake up James this morning?”
“I thought you were doing it, and I was handling Violet?” He replied, perplexed.
“No,” You sighed, exasperated. “That was last week. You’re on wake up duty, remember?”
It was then that it appeared to click in his head, and he quickly returned the girl back to her cot, pressing a quick kiss to her forehead before rushing out the room, calling out frantic apologies to you on the way.
You’d been late to James’ soccer practice because of it, and he’s missed out on collecting his player of the match award. He’d been understandably upset, and it had caused some tension in the house for the past week.
You weren’t angry with Luke per se. Irritated was probably more accurate. He’d apologised profusely to both you and James, and the boy had gotten over it when his dad took him out for pancakes the next day.
As for you, he hadn’t yet delivered his grand gesture to atone, so you were still waiting on that. One thing you did love about your husband, is that he always made it up to you, no matter what mistake he made.
And make it up, he did.
The next Saturday you woke up without the usual ring of your alarm, and instead you found yourself waking naturally out of a lazy dream. The morning sun cast its rays over your face, warming you slightly as you smiled, rolling over to face your husband. Except he wasn’t there.
Immediately you were confused, sitting up in bed and glancing at the clock. It was 10 o’clock. You were so late.
You cursed quietly, practically leaping out of bed and pulling on the nearest pair of trousers you could find.
You were in such a frantic state that you didn’t even notice Luke entering the room until he called out to you.
“Honey, please, get back into bed.”
“What! We’re late! Oh god, James is gonna be so upset, he’s missed all of soccer!” You exclaimed, turning to face him, only to see him holding a tray full of food.
“What’s that?”
“Breakfast. Please, just get back in bed, I’ll explain.” He said, a sheepish smile on his face as he herded you back into bed.
You followed, willing to hear him out, especially when he was offering you pastries and coffee.
“Is everything-?”
“It’s all sorted,” He said, cutting you off, “I took James to soccer, and then he’s going to Leon’s for a playdate. I’m really sorry for last week, you let me get away with so much, and you work so hard, so I thought I’d let you have a lie in, and bring you breakfast.”
You were speechless, staring directly into his chocolate brown eyes.
“Are you happy? Sorry for not telling you, I wanted it to be a nice surprise.”
Then you snapped out of your daze, grabbing his face and kissing him hard, before pulling back to giggle at his blushing face. Sometimes he was still like the awkward teen you had met all those years ago.
“It was a great surprise. I really appreciate it.”
You grabbed a croissant from the tray, and quickly began to sate you hunger, grinning the whole time as you tried to figure how you managed to get so lucky to call this man your husband, the father of your children.
It really was perfect.

It was a bitch, really. When you had been back on earth there had been no way for you to get your hands onto hormones so your voice always stayed high pitched, your body never started to grow facial hair, there was no t-dick, no muscles and your shark week busted open the gates every fucking month. Not even in heaven you were free from that monthly bleeding, for Christ's sake, who the fuck made that decision?
So when it was that time of the month again you pushed yourself away from Adam - physically. You had been cuddling with the leader of the exorcists all night and it had been fine but now? Now everything felt wrong, your body, your voice, your soft facial features, the curves that made your body look elegant instead of bulky. The physical pain that shot through your body not to mention.
The second you pushed yourself away and turned your back towards Adam the man woke up to check where the warmth of your body went only to find you on the other half of the bed, curled up tight in one of the blankets. His confused expression softened and he scooted towards you, only for you to flinch away again, growling a low, “Don’t fucking touch me.” Adam stopped in his movement and looked at you in concern. “It’s that time of the month again, huh?” he simply asked as he finally moved backwards a little to give you the space you needed. A low huff escaped you and you wrapped the blanket even tighter around your body.
Your own nails were digging into your skin, it was the only thing that kept you from ripping open your stomach and pulling out all of your guts - including that fucking bitch of a uterus that you weren't even supposed to have. You were supposed to have a body like Adam, to look the part, to sound the part. Yet you were stuck in this female body you didn't ask for.
“Babes,” his voice was tired yet soft as you felt the mattress shifting, he just got up. He walked around the bed to kneel down in front of you, dressed in nothing but a boxershorts. You wanted to push the blanket away and cling onto him, to bury your face in his neck and breathe in nothing but his scent for the rest of this nightmarishly week. And so you did. The blanket landed somewhere on the floor and you basically launched yourself into his arms, your arms wrapped around his neck, nails dug into his back once you were steady. Your legs were wrapped around his hips and he placed a big, warm hand on your back to steady you while his other hand softly petted your hair. “I hate this, I hate this so fucking much,” you whimpered against his neck as tears started to well up in your eyes. You didn't want to cry, you wanted to stay strong, to live through it without complaining. But you couldn't. It was just all too much.
Adam shushed you as he pressed a loving kiss to your cheek, “I know you do babes.” Adam never really knew what he was supposed to do during dysphoria breakdowns, you either isolated yourself from him and his touch until it wore off, or you clung onto him like a newborn baby. He liked you clingy better but would of course give you space if needed. “Watcha say about pancakes, huh? Sounds fucking great?” You lifted your head a little to look into the golden eyes you adored so much, a small, weak smile on your face, “Sounds fucking great.”
So the day continued. And the brunette was not going anywhere without you, hell might burn brighter today, he even canceled band practice and told Sera to “Fuck off, my babe needs me,” when she had called and asked him to meet Emily. Most of the day you two had been spending in bed, it was the most comfortable and cozy place to spend shark week at. And while tomorrow would be yet another day for you to walk through the hell of dysphoria, today was okay because Adam was there. Adam had wrapped his entire body around you so that all your senses could focus onto him and him alone. He was also singing a song, you were too zoned out to notice if it was the same song over and over again or if it were different ones. But Adam's voice calmed you down and Adam's touch made you feel less like tearing open your stomach and pulling out your guts.
While tomorrow would be yet the same painfully disgusting experience, today Adam was there to take it from you for at least a couple hours.

Here's why I'm putting that as a sibling moment - we've seen this squad face down entire cities worth of troopers at this point (Raxus was just 2 episodes ago, and we've seen them take on 3 ships worth of clones too) without even batting an eye. But one sighting of Crosshair and they're all grumbling and that's what throws them in the "we can't pull this off mentality" and I interpret that as coming from the continuing theme of the Batch being so proud of each other's skills and enhancements, they're so in awe of each other, and the only thing that could ever give them a challenge is one of them. He may be their enemy right now, but they still believe in Crosshair's skillset so much that just him makes them decide to abandon the mission

Summary: arcade date with Riri in which you share your first kiss as a couple
Two months you and Riri have been dating for two months it comes as a shock to you both it passed so fast. You spent Christmas and Halloween together you've never managed to be in a relationship on a holiday. Today is your tenth date you both of course do in the house dates but they don't really count. Your favorites are when you get dressed up and go out somewhere it doesn't have to be some nice place it just has to get you out of the house. You went to a pizza place that had all types of pizza and even pizza deserts but that is not what you really went for being the big kids that you are you went for the arcade center. Riri's hand stays in yours unless she's playing against you. When you see that hooping game you immediately run off and grab a basketball "babe" however a woman comes over "I'm sorry my son wanted to play this game." You look around and blink "I don't see no kid. Let us play this round real quick and he can have the rest of game when he gets here he can even have the tickets." The woman looks you up and down a facial expression of disgust clearly expressed but you only smile she tosses the ball at your feet and walks off. Riri is quick to grab the basketball and aim towards her but you grab her arms "fuck her play ball with me" she smiles at you seeing your unfazed expression she loves that how you just don't let other people get you riled up. Truth is your temper is shorter than hers but you've learned to think before you beat a bitch's head in with a deflated basketball in the middle of an arcade. You slip a few coins in the machine and smile at Riri "you think you can get more baskets than me shorty?" She laughs and gives you that side smile of hers "I was gone be nice but since you talking about a motherfuckers height I'm about to wreck you in this game." She shoots first and keeps going you thrust the side of your hip against her so that you can get a better handle and start shooting your ball "that's fucking cheating!" She quickly gets up but you throw one of your balls at her and she laughs as she catches it "what shorty you give up?" She just smiles and watches you "no I don't give up but stop cheating" she gets up and tosses you the ball you shrug but notice her numbers are still up more than yours so you glance around before climbing on top of the game and repeatedly just putting your ball through the hoop. Riri laughs and tosses you the ball "I give up you cheat too much" you only laugh as she helps you down you lose your fitting for a moment falling onto her getting a fresh smell of her perfume which causes you to look up at her "wow you smell good" she laughs and pushes you "okay get your gay ass off ass me" you laugh seeing her little flustered expression.
Riri grabs your hand and pulls you to the little claw machine "want to get stuffed animals?" Riri has a sweet spot for stuffed animals she finds comfort in them "if you name yours Y/n and I name mine Riri." The smile across her face only widens as she hugs you happily but she stops when she realizes how close you both are you two just stare for a moment at each other's lips but you clear your throat remembering you aren't alone not as if it would matter you both would chicken out. Dating for two months and you haven't kissed it's not a problem it's just the way you were raised you honestly shouldn't be holding hands but you're not a pre-teen it wouldn't hurt. Riri pulls away and quickly turns to the game as she puts some coins in "you pick the one you want me to have" you look at the red octopus and smile you gently move the handle aiming for the red one. It takes you a while but you eventually get the one you want you gift it to her and she smiles you leave while she plays the claw machine to get you one. You walk up to the counter "hey I was wondering do one of you have a sharpie?" The obviously teen workers oggle at your beauty for a moment before a girl with coily hair grabs her friends sharpie and gives it to you "damn why you give her m-" she punches him in the leg but you only smile and return to the arcade area. You write on Riri's stuffed animal your name and in the card attached to it you write "to our first kiss." She isn't yet but she's going to be. You place her stuffed animal on top of her head and she smiles knowing it's you "hold on baby" she bites her bottom lip as she focuses and grabs you a black octopus stuffed animal she jumps in excitement "fuck yeah!" You jump from the sudden yelling she only dances and hits the Dougie causing you to stare at her "girl what is wrong with you?" She laughs and hands you the black octopus "sorry it took me forever to get the one I wanted for you." You gently take it and give her the sharpie "write your name on it" you turn it upside down showing it's white bottom and she signs her name with a heart. If only she knows how much that makes your heart flutter.
And again another perfect moment to kiss but neither of you do she just closes the cap and hands it back to you. You drag her towards the photobooth "I want photos with you" Riri groans playfully "but I look like a hamburger that got hit, fucked and thrown out" you laugh at her commentary but continue to guide her to the photobooth which she gets in immediately without question. When you get in she closes the curtain and pulls you on her lap you weren't expecting that at all actually. She notices that when you just kind of sit there not moving frozen in place she slowly loosens her grip on your hips but you grab her hands "no it's fine" you pay for the photo booth pictures and look at Riri as she chooses the template. When she finally chooses one and the camera starts you grab her by her face and kiss her the first photo catches it all her shocked expression that holds big wide eyes. Riri immediately kisses back though closing her eyes and letting her self sink into the kiss. You both pull away momentarily just to look at each other she stares at you and smiles. You only smile and turn for the last picture throwing up a peace sign. You wait a moment for the photos to print but Riri just can't stop looking at you. "You kissed me" you nod "I've been wanting to all day well actually since the first week we started dating but you know it's good to take your time..." you grab the small strip and look at the pictures but Riri pulls you back onto her lap and kisses you again you immediately discard the strip beside her as her hands gently massage your thighs. You've kissed people before but nothing compares to this one the both of you give the exact same energy no one is fighting for dominance it's just a simple sweet -hungry- but sweet kiss.
You hear the photo booth curtain being opened and come eye to eye with a young teenager probably no younger than 18 but you immediately jump up and close the curtain. You can hear her groan "I'm sick and tired of couples" you and Riri laugh as she grabs the pictures and looks at them. "You ready to go home?" You nod "yeah I have to make sure I submitted my essay..." She looks at you and laughs "the overachiever and the lacker perfect couple" you laugh and reply "the short one and the average height one perfect couple." Riri pushes you into the wall without hesitation you only laugh as your stuffed animal cushions the contact. Riri is lovely she never asks anything of you just to be there with her and enjoy the comfort you give each other.

You dodge the camera so she won't see your giddy smile "no" you lie she only laughs "okay two can play that game sneaky."

Sea Salt Beach Boardwalk, Ep. 1
Katie is a large woman, no one has ever denied that. She's a true local; she practically grew up on the boardwalk. Therefore, she spent all of her summers as a kid begging her parents for candy at the candy shop, all of her teenage summers flirting with the boy behind the ice cream counter (who was all too happy to give the chubby girl some free ice cream now and then), and as soon as she turned 18 she started working at the Candy Factory Sweet Shop to make some money and sample the merchandise as she pleased.
Katie's favorite candy in the shop is the handmade fudge. It's easy to make, very filling, and tastes sooooooo good. With her employee discount making it basically free, Katie eats at least an entire block of fudge every shift. Since they have dozens of fudge flavors to choose from, she never gets bored of it. Their caramels are also known for being fantastic, as is their taffy. Those aren't very filling, but they're a tasty little snack to pop in your mouth. The artisanal chocolates, Katie has found, are great gifts for welcoming new faces to the pier. They're like, addictingly good, and almost always ensure repeat customers.
Katie takes most of her lunch breaks at the Fry Hut with her best friend Sarah. They chat and gossip and giggle as best friends do over buckets and buckets of french fries, fried chicken, fried fish, corndogs, onion rings, and even more french fries. About three times a week before work, for breakfast the girls would get what they called 'beach babes brunch' from a diner just off the shore which consisted of a tall stack of pancakes, bacon and eggs, and iced coffees-- Katie took hers with mostly cream and only a little coffee.
Her steady diet of fried snacks and candy meant that after 10 years of working at the Candy Factory, the chubby teen had blossomed into an enormously fat woman. Her long luscious blonde hair frames her double chins, round cheeks, and wide smile. She has strikingly wide hips (good thing the shop has a wide double door, she needs it!). Her big belly rests on her lap while she sits behind the fudge counter. Her belly jiggles when she laughs with customers as she does every day. She is always full of candy and zest for life. Katie is the poster girl for fat and happy.
She worked her way up to manager of the Candy Factory, but she kept her first uniform as a keepsake. Adorable that she ever fit into an XL polo shirt. In the shop office, there are photos of the staff from every summer dating back decades. Katie loves these pictures not only because they remind her of her old friends, but because they show very clearly how much she grew over the years: from just over 200 pounds her first summer to a glowing 254 pounds the following year, on and on with a new uniform to fit her growing body every season until this year: She'd accidentally outgrown the largest size the uniform manufacturer makes! At a heavy and still growing 517 pounds, 28-year-old Katie finally got to create her own uniform, though sometimes she still wears her old one, just to show off how tight it is.
Recently, Katie's Candy Factory got a new hire. Katie is working on training Jen, whose resume for retail work was strong, but seems to lack the enthusiasm for sweets. Jen has a particularly dark demeanor; you'd guess by looking at her she never really left her goth phase. Her baby blue Medium work polo looks comically cheery against her jet-black hair and facial piercings. Jen is a college student who's only working for the summer, but Katie is determined that in just three months she'll teach Jen what makes candy so wonderful, even if it means she has to feed her new samples every day. Besides, Katie thinks, Jen is so skinny anyway, she could use some candy in that belly.

“so do you dye your hair now or was this part of your angsty phase i’ve heard so much about?”
jake raises the picture of bradley closer for inspection. the teenager in the picture is definitely his boyfriend—he has all the same facial features except for the mustache—but the second-most glaringly obvious difference is the fact that the curls peaking out from underneath his baseball cap are a dark brunet instead of the lighter honey color jake’s so accustomed to.
bradley laughs a little, hooking his chin over jake’s shoulder to see the picture for himself. “well, mav’s already shown you me as a baby, so i guess i have to admit that teenage-me was trying a little too hard to be cool.”
“a little? babe, c’mon you wanted to join the black parade so bad.”
maverick pipes up from just behind them. “do you want to see the pictures ice took after the first time he snuck out to a party? i’ve kept them for exactly this purpose.”
“the what?” jake asks, delighted.
bradley groans. “mav i thought you said the hangover was punishment enough.”
“oh, no baby goose, this punishment has been 20 years in the making.”
unfortunately for jake’s ever-growing blackmail stash against his boyfriend, they’re interrupted by a buzzing sound from bradley’s pocket. “phoenix,” he says, holding up the phone, “gotta take this.” he presses a kiss to jake’s temple before he crosses to the other side of the hangar.
jake’s attention drops back to the photo in his hand. some surly teenager with a major case of baby face, but also hints of the strong man he’d come to be.
mav shifts to stand next to him. he gazes down at the picture, the sheen of nostalgia in his eyes. “i remember when we caught bradley with that stupid hair dye all over himself and half the bathroom. we made him scrub it off the tiles, but he was too proud of his new look to be really upset about it.”
jake looks back between the picture of teen bradley and mav, a little scrunch forming between his brow.
it’s funny because, well, a lot of how bradley appears now is all nick bradshaw—his hawaiian shirts, his mustache, his natural hair (though a few shades browner than it was as a child)—but when jake looks at the picture of young bradley with his dark, messy hair and then the man in front of him, well—
“he looks like you,” he finds himself saying. “in this picture, with the hair, and the way he stands, and the way he smiles. he’s so totally your kid.”
when he gets no response, he looks up. maverick’s eyebrows are raised, mouth slightly parted, but it appears jake has done what cyclone could only dream of: struck pete “maverick” mitchell silent.
“except for the height,” jake adds.
bradley chooses this time to wander back to them, situation with phoenix over and resolved. he hooks an arm around jakes waist and leans in, all close and easy. bradley turns towards maverick. “what’s wrong?” he asks at the look on his father’s face.
mav shakes himself a little. he looks at his son. he smiles.
“nothing,” he says.

Background:
Real name is Elias Beckenbauer.
He’s 29 years old and from the Innsbruck area. His birthday is November 10th, making him a Scorpio.
Has a big extended family, but he is an only child.
His parents are both teachers at a secondary school. His dad teaches biology and his mom teaches literature.
He was raised around tons of younger cousins that are like little siblings to him.
Very close with his grandma on his dad’s side because she used to babysit him a lot.
His family is nominally Catholic, but most are not practicing, including him. Still attends the odd Christmas mass if he’s home for the holidays, mostly to make grandma happy.
Gets his height from his mom’s side. His dad’s family are averagely sized.
His constant growth made him gawky for most of his adolescence.
He didn’t fill out and grow into his height until his very late teens, mostly because he started working out and eating right when he joined the military.
His parents did not initially accept his choice to join the military, wishing he would choose a safer line of work. They relented, though, and are very proud of his accomplishments.
Appearance:
He’s 6'7'' or 201 cm tall. (6'10" is not technically canon, and visually, he looks about the same height as one of my friends who is 6'6" so I rounded up)
Has very dark brown, thick hair.
Used to have long hair as a teen. Shaved it off when he joined the military. Now he lets the top grow out a bit.
Got that 90s heartthrob, Dimitri from Anastasia, middle part going on. Has an undercut to stay cool under his mask.
Freckles and sunburns easily. But he eventually tans once the burn goes away.
Keeps his face clean shaven, finds facial hair too itchy and hot.
Has a scar across the middle of his mouth from accidentally being slashed with a knife during training. The other guy felt really bad.
Had acne as a teen. It's mostly cleared up now but he gets a breakout every so often from stress. Has a few clusters of acne scars on his back.
The front of his hips have some old, faded stretch marks from his extreme growth spurts.
True to form, he's got some serious muscles. Absolute tree trunk legs.
Has kinda crooked teeth. His canines flare out slightly from his other teeth.
Wears predominately simple t-shirt and pants combos in dark colors. He does like jewelry, though. Especially rings that he can fiddle with.
Pierced ears. Wears small silver rings in them when he remembers to.
Interests:
Favorite color is forest green.
Will listen to most kinds of music, but likes metal and industrial music the most. Rammstein, Type O Negative, Deftones, and KMFDM fan.
Though he doesn’t like regular crowds, he loves concerts. The loud music and the energy of the collective excitement is somewhat regulating for him. It gets his sillies out in a place where it feels acceptable.
He prefers to be in the bleachers instead of the pit, though, since he doesn't want to block the view.
He likes to cook, mostly standard German fare he learned from grandma. Makes a very good Kaiserschmarren, since that was his favorite growing up.
Coffee over tea. Treats himself to a fancy, flavored coffee periodically.
Parents got him into skiing as a child, both downhill and cross-country. Was a member of the ski club at his secondary school. Loved that he could cover his face with goggles and a balaclava. It made him feel protected from people’s eyes.
Got into marksmanship because he wanted to ski a biathlon. He has participated in three so far, getting fourth place as his personal best.
Also tried out ice hockey as a kid, but found that he didn’t like contact sports. Still enjoys watching it, though.

Very clean, but couldn't organize to save his life.
Like he doesn't let dirty clothes pile up, but babes definitely lives out of laundry baskets because he forgets to fold it.

ANGSTY/Heartwarming FIC INCOMING!
After a year, Nica is reunited with the rest of her kids.

Nica was scared. There was no other way of putting it.
As she sat in her husband's car, her other children in the backseats, she couldn't stop thinking of her younger ones that waited at their grandparents' home, waiting to be reunited after a long, horrible year.
She'd missed birthdays, Halloween, Easter, Christmas, school recitals, club meetings. She'd been out of all of her kids' lives, trapped in a home with a serial killer who hasld some sick idea of love.
And now she was coming back, to see her younger ones again.
Andy, Glen, and Glenda had told her things, how the two of them would want to go put out missing fliers, how they still made her Christmas presents, how they would constantly ask if there was a shred of news about her- it broke her heart.
And now she was coming back different. Her arms and legs gone, her hair not having any of the curls it once had, new scars covering her body from Chucky's possession. Would they even recognize her-
A hand on her shoulder jolted her from her thoughts- it was Glen, who was seated behind her. "Mom! Oh sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!"
"No no, don't worry honey, I'm fine. Uh, what's up?" Nica looked back at the twins, who now seemed to be sharing a glance, until Glenda turned to her and answered. "Uh, are you okay? I mean, I know you're not OKAY, but are you, you know, "okay"? About... All this?"
The twins had grown up with their mother since they were pre-teens, and knew her facial expressions. At least that part hadn't changed about her.
Nica gave a nod. "Uh yeah, I'm doing okay. Just ready to see Mikey and Maggie, you know?"
Glenda gave a suspicious nod, before Glen put a hand on their mom's shoulder. "You're gonna do fine mom. They've missed you just as much as we have."
The twins had almost tackled Nica when they first saw her again, bawling and clinging to her like she might disappear again. Andy, even while injured, grabbed her and squeezed her tight, both of them crying in each other's arms.
Nica smiled a little bit. This thought was... Comforting. How much everyone had missed her. But.... Maggie was a pre-teen and Mikey was in elementary school. Would they react the same way?
Andy piped up from his driver side. "Like we said, babe, they do already know about your prosthetics. We wouldn't put that on them or you, just finding out out of nowhere." His hand gently touched Nica's leg to comfort her. She didn't feel it, but it was still nice to see her husband's love.
Nica sighed out, her prosthetic hook gently tapping Glen's hand out of thanks. "Thank you guys. I just... I know this is gonna be hard for them, and that's the last thing I want."
Then Nica looked out the windshield and realized- oh shit, they were already there.
Mike and Karen's one story house sat in a nice neighborhood, a garden up front and a decent sized backyard, and a nice garage and driveway to park into. Nica recognized Kyle's car parked in the driveway, and knew Mike and Karen's were in the garage.
It looked the same as she'd last been there...
The front porch with the ramp made just for her was still perfectly cared for, the grass nicely cut. It felt like home already.
The twins hopped out of the car and got out Nica's chair and Andy got out to help Nica herself into it.
At this point her heart was pounding, and she felt herself nervously shake as she looked to her husband. Andy pressed a kiss to her forehead to ease her worries "It's gonna be okay." He whispered. It should have comforted her, but she was still nervous as all hell.
The mother began to slowly roll out of the driveway, her twins and husband behind her as she made her way to the ramp- and then something banged from inside the house. Like a herd of elephants had just ran through the Norris' living room. A yell from what she recognized as Mike called for someone to be careful, and then-
The front door opened. And out ran her babies.
Both of them had gotten taller, Nica recognized that. Maggie still wore her precious beanie, though she has grown into it a bit more. Mikey's curls were disheveled, as if he had been brushing his hair the moment they'd arrived, but given up on it for this.
It was silent for a second of shock, just a second, enough for Nica to see the tears in Mikey's eyes before Maggie broke it with a scream of joy.
"MOM!!! MOMMY!!!!" And both kids rushed into her, hugging her and bursting into tears.
And with that, Nica broke. Tears spilled down her cheeks as she held her babies close, showering them with kisses and "I missed you"s and "I love you"s.
Soon within a minute Kyle, Mike, and Karen came out and joined them, giving Nica and the other family members hugs of joy over finally being reunited.
And as Nica felt the arms of everyone she loved around her, she knew she was home, and wondered what she'd been worrying about.

My 100 Baby Challenge
I used to think that I am the 100 Baby Challenge Pro. That was until they introduced infants. They need to be fed, diapers changed, attention and TUMMY TIME! So, what better for my sanity (which is barely hanging on as it is) than to start this challenge again!
The rules I am playing by:
Newborns can't be aged up until it is announced it is their birthday
Infants need to have three milestones in each area before they can be aged up
Toddlers need to be level 3 of all skills before being aged up
Children need an A in school before being aged up
Teens need an A in school before being aged up
For this run, I will be making all my donors "Mystery Sims" meaning I have no idea what they look like before we "try for baby" with them, so we can have some interesting looking children! Search for Mystery Sim on the gallery, and you'll see what I mean. And all of the kids will be named after food. That i like. So you will not see any Pickle in this bunch. Ew.
So now that all the housekeeping is out of the way, lets meet our first Matriarch, Marisa. She is Warm Hearted, Sincere, and Whimsical (from Maplebell's more CAS traits)
Cute, right? She has no idea what is in store for her. We will check in with her after she has popped out a few.
Now lets talk Donor #1.
It was steamy. Went straight from "Hi, my name is Marisa" to a little flirty jokes, to GET IN MY SINK YOU HAMSTER! So of course, she got preggers pretty quickly. Please don't ask me what mod allows for woohoo in the sink, but it happened.
Baby Time. This doctor is going to get to know us well. But don't worry we wont need them after a while, because Marisa will be able to give birth all by herself. Once you have done it 10 times, you don't need a degree.
After 2 minutes of labor, we have our first baby boy!

I think we lucked out with this one. Normal skin color, no unusual facial features! She is actually VERY CUTE! I would flirt with her if I ever saw her IRL!

15 Skincare Things I Don’t Give AF About Anymore (skincare level: ~enlightened~)
Well, well, after another whatever months of radio silence, as usual, the poster child of Tumblr skincare blogs returns (just kidding... or am I??).
If you're new here, welcome to what I'd call one of the UNESCO OG skincare blogs on Tumblr. Okay, maybe that is a bit of a stretch. If you've been here since SUNDAYSKIN's origins, like I'm talking back in 2017, I really, really love you. Like, really. You're awesome.
The lowdown is that I've been knee-deep in skincare since I discovered it in my teens. Fast forward almost a decade (damn I'm old wtf), and I think I've reached the point where it's not something I have to stress about or try to figure out anymore.
I know what works for me, what doesn't, the finish and feel I like, the ingredients I want to use, etc. Of course, I'm still learning and trying new things, but I've got a pretty good understanding of my skin or skin in general.
Maybe you are new to skincare (welcome to the rabbit hole, enjoy the fall) or maybe you've been figuring it out for just as long as I have. Whatever the case, here are 15 skincare things I used to do or care about, but now I couldn't care less. 😎
Have I become lazy lazier, or did I just reach an enlightened level of skincare? You can decide.
1. Using the same routine every day/night
Though I ~typically~ use the same products daily or on a rough routine (back and forth, once a week, etc.), I don’t force myself to follow the same 1-2-3-step routine every day nor do I use the same products every day, save for my prescribed acne medications (sigh). I used to obsess over consistency, as in applying the same things in the same order every single day/night, but I think you should instead just consistently take care of your skin, in whatever way works for you.
My verdict? Tweak your routine based on your skin condition at the moment. Eventually, you’ll instinctively grab whatever you need from your skincare vault. You’ll get there, babe. Trust the process.
2. Drying my face completely
A recent(?) trend in skincare, at least in the US, seems to be about how a towel can harbor a lot of bad bacteria and therefore you should wash your towel often and/or have a designated face towel.
Whether or not your towel has been causing your acne or other skincare woes is debatable; I know good and well many people around the world have the clearest skin but don't give a toot about the towel they use to dry their face. I'm sure it can matter, but I don't think it's going to be a deal-breaker.
My mindset here is why not be "better safe than sorry." I think it wouldn't hurt to try more gentle or hygienic ways to dry your face. My favorite face towel is by INNELLISilk. It's cheap, it's soft, it's apparently made of things that are more antibacterial than your typical towel, it's got one of those tiny hole thingies that lets you hang it places — it checks all my boxes. Though I like to have this towel on hand, I typically use facial tissue to dry my face once a night. A (large) cotton pad would also work.
The whole 1-use tissue for your face is another trend these days, but if it sounds wasteful to you, opt for the designated face towel (preferably a material that won't completely dry the water on your face). A soft facial sponge works too (wet it first, please). You could even go rogue and use no towel at all (wipe as much of the moisture off with your hands as you can).
Bonus tip: whatever you use, it's best to have some leftover water on your face. Apparently, if you let your skin get completely dry in between cleansing and treatment products, your skin will actually start the process of producing more oils. It's also just pretty uncomfortable to have your face dry up. A moisturized, hydrated face is something we all need, regardless of "skin type."
3. Having a routine that's "quick & easy"
My "ultimate skincare goal" used to be that [x]-step, 15-minute skincare routine that I imagined was what the perfect, put-together skincare routine looked like. All the popular products, quick, easy, effective. Girl, stop that nonsense! Everyone is different, so the perfect routine is one that is beneficial, comfortable, and doable for you.
These days, I put on a YouTube video, watch a show, or have Kpop MVs playing while taking my time to go through my routine (E'Last, Just B, Cravity, Enhyphen, and P1Harmony are my fav groups atm, FYI). Sometimes that's 20 minutes, sometimes it's an hour. Take your time, learn about your own skin, and do what works best for your life and schedule.

If you really love skincare, and miss the long-form, slowed-down content of the bygone days, namely on YouTube, this is someone you must check out. It's become my new favorite thing to have her videos or podcast playing in the background when I do my skincare or when I'm just trying to relax. It's seriously like casually chatting with a friend about skincare, and I NEED that comfort in my life rn.

4. Using only “safe” green-level ingredients
I used to check all products on an ingredient-checking website like Cosdna, and if there was any ingredient listed as being "unsafe" or comedogenic, I'd almost immediately decide not to further research the product, let alone purchase it.
Unless it has an acne-causing or irritating ingredient that is almost universally shunned — which is unicorn-level rare when it comes to the products I consider buying — I don't worry about what Cosdna says about the product's ingredients being potentially comedogenic. Granted, whether an ingredient is prone to being comedogenic is a real thing, but I think how your skin actually reacts might be different. I'm not a chemist. You (probably) aren't either. The people who formulate products usually know what they're doing. They don't see a negative ingredient and say, "hey, we should add this to the formulation for no reason."
Usually, you just need to try a product to see if it works for you. Others might hate it; others might call it a holy grail. It's you that really matters. This is your world, babe, and don't let them tell you otherwise.
The jury votes that the "safe level" of ingredients should always be considered with a grain of salt.
5. Doing my routine at the same time every day/night
This just isn't practical for me, but I used to think it was another "must" for clear, healthy skin when I was still a skincare baby. I think the premise of recommending this is so that people who may have a hard time doing their skincare every day (busy, forgetful, etc.) will sort of be forced to remember to do it morning and night. If this is you, go ahead, set a morning and night alarm, and see if that helps you stay on track. For me, it's good enough that I do my routine once when it is light out and once when it is dark, lol.
6. Trying new products ~just~ because they are trending or popular
When I was newer to skincare (see a pattern here?), my approach became buying products that were trending or super popular rather than buying products that I needed or that may have addressed the specific issues I was having.
Now, I almost purposefully don't purchase the most popular, trending skincare products (you know, the ones them Tiktokers Tiktok about). Not to say the popular, trending products aren't worth considering. They are ~usually~ popular for a valid reason, but just don't take the popularity as equal to the product being effective for you. There's often a lot of behind-the-scenes marketing and sponsorships etc. etc. also taking place, so it can be hard to see if a product is popular for a good reason or if it is being made popular.
It's my new thrill to find products that are lesser-known hidden gems, like products that are actually holy grails in Korea/Japan/etc. rather than being primarily popular in the US (the products we say we "discovered" but are old news or not actually popular in the place they come from, lol). I never just buy trending skincare because it's the hot thing of the time anymore. The old me is dead and gone.
7. Using products as they are meant to be used
Let me start this with a precursor that some products certainly need to be used as instructed (like acne prescriptions) or some can't be flexible in how they are used (you shouldn't use cleansers as a serum, for instance, though I'm sure by mid 2025 there will certainly be a product like this, lol).
Besides that, back in the ancient times, if a toner was labeled as a "toner" or a serum as a "serum," that's exactly how I'd use them in my routine. The reality is that you can use most products, whether it is a toner, ampoule, essence, sleeping mask, etc., in any way that works for you. I told you: this is your world. Now believe it!
8. Following the standard Korean skincare routine
I think I often bought products in the past just for the sake of filling in the spots of a typical Korean skincare routine, a routine we in fact declared as the universal Korean standard, i.e., oil cleaner, foam cleanser, toner, essence, serum, etc. I actually used to be a huge believer in essences, thought they were one of the most important products to include, but I haven't used an essence in so long! These days I just use serums as my after-toner-before-cream step. Simplify your routine only a couple of steps or make it super complex and detailed — it's always been up to you.
9. Finishing products *because* I spent money on them
If I'm only 1/10th of the way through a serum or spot treatment and I don't like it for whatever reason, I don't shun myself for moving on to a new product or purchasing something else.
Can it be wasteful sometimes? Yes. Do I sometimes waste money on an (expensive) product that actually doesn't work for me? Yes. It happens! Skincare is a journey and there will be hiccups. Unless, well, you're perfect. Then, congrats!
If something is not working for you, or worse, having negative effects, stop using her and try to instead find someone in your life that might enjoy the product. Last resort? The trash (recycle if possible!).
Tip: some of the best ways to avoid tossing full-sized products and wasting your money is to really do your research before purchasing a product and by trying sample sizes before committing to the full.
10. Using extraction tools
...because it's better than using your hands, right? Nah, listen.
I've bought extraction tools maybe 2 or 3 times in my life, and every time, after a couple uses, I throw them out like I'm throwing out the cake I bought despite being on a diet, lol.
I don't think using a tool to take out blackheads to pop pimples is better than doing it with your hands. I think the best route to clear, healthy skin is to not pick or pop at all.
Better alternatives are exfoliating products, clay masks, pimple patches, and gentle cleansing tools like facial sponges. Let's keep the extraction tools in the hands of skincare professionals, okay?
11. Refrigerating products
Girl, let me tell you.
I used to be almost obsessed with making sure my serums and creams and whatnot were kept refrigerated. I think I've been through at least 3 or 4 mini fridges over the course of a couple of years. When they didn't work as well in the hotter months or when the power went out, I'd literally move all my skincare to another fridge in the house like I was transporting a donor's organs to a hospital. I sprinted, y'all. S p r i n t e d.
Then, I had an epiphany. When I tried a refrigerated SPF, didn't like how it applied, then coincidently tried it again when I had removed it from the fridge at room temp, wala: it has now become one of my top-3, ride-or-die SPFs of all time. We love a good skincare plot twist.
I found out that I actually like my skincare applied at room temp more because they're truer to their texture and soak in better. Of course, this is case-by-case and has a lot to do with preference, but if you are on the fence about it, I'd say a beauty fridge is a luxury that isn't really necessary.
I thought it was necessary because I was under the impression that products needed to be colder than room temp to last longer, stay "stronger" longer, etc. This isn't really the case. Unless specified by the product description, products, SPFs included, are made to survive just fine in typical, real-life temperatures. If you're room is extremely hot, in direct sunlight, or the temp fluctuates greatly throughout the day, a mini fridge might be a solution. Heck, a mini fridge that is off might be a solution. To me, a dark, cool place like a drawer or somewhere in your closet is just as good, if not better (cause the whole texture, application stuff mentioned before).
Mostly consistent, out of direct sunlight, and not-too-hot conditions are what you want. Odds are, you can get that without a designated beauty fridge.
12. Making diy masks and skincare with kitchen ingredients
Back in the day, I used to make homemade masks with things like lemon (report me!), oatmeal, banana, egg whites, turmeric, you get it. I probably haven't done anything "homemade" or "natural" since my teens. Mostly because I have the finances to buy plenty of real, packaged skincare and masks to use made by people who know what they're doing, lol. There's no point for me anymore to try and make something that might be good or safe for the skin.
I think making DIY skincare masks was my old thing because it was a way for me to try new things and take care of my skin when I didn't have the money or means to buy the variety of skincare easily available to me today.
Homemade things aren't inherently bad or not worth it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Or maybe you just like experimenting and trying more natural, handmade things. That's cool too. Just make sure to research what ingredients to avoid using, like, you know, straight up lemon juice from the fridge. Oopski!
13. Judging a skincare product by price
Expensive products must be better or more potent than cheaper ones, right? I probably don't need to explain this to you, but the price does not always relate to how good or effective a product will be for you. There is actually probably more popular and effective affordable skincare than there is luxury, triple-digit products. There's so much affordable, amazing skincare these days that luxury to me is anything over $40, lol.
If you want to invest some money on your skin, see a dermatologist or get a professional facial treatment. The next best thing is an at-home skincare tool, but those require careful, experienced hands and a boat load of research. Careful now, these are dangerous waters.
14. Buying products that are *only* for my “skin type”
I've recently been thinking "skin types" aren't really a thing. Hear me out.
I think of "skin types" now more as "skin conditions" or just the current state your skin's health is in, not as something universally true to you or something you were "born with" like the color of your eyes or hair (even those things can change overtime too!).
Of course, I'm not trying to say that perfect skin health equals "normal" skin that isn't oily, dry, or combo. What I'm trying to get at is that you shouldn't feel the need to put yourself in a box and only buy products marketed toward your "skin type." Just because something is said to be oil-free or for oily skin doesn't mean dry-skinned ladies/guys won't like it. It also doesn't mean that it will automatically be what my oily skin peeps need.
Real-world application-wise, I'm not sure how helpful this insight is, lol, because buying products that were created for your "skin type" isn't technically wrong/bad. Maybe just venture out a bit, remove that "for oily skin" or "for normal skin" filter when shopping for skincare online, try something you might not immediately think is for you. You might find a holy-grail product that's marketed toward a totally different skin type/condition. Always look at a product holistically.
15. Patting versus rubbing in
To be or not to be. But like, who cares? Do what works for you, in skincare and in life, bud. Just be gentle and give your stuff time to absorb. Maybe you didn't even know about the pat vs. rub debate. It's that old.
