As someone who has watched F1 for more than 15 years, I feel like it's a good time now before the ever so eventful Australian GP (and the 21 races later this year) to just remind everyone of a simple rule that some seem to have forgotten. "Oh goddammit *insert driver name*, why did you do that?!" is an acceptable reaction, in the comfort of your own home, to someone taking out your favorite from the race.

Sending death threats and hate to a driver is not.

The community is a much better place when we don't turn into rabid animals over the results of a single race, okay? Okay.

VCARB reliability and strategy:

Mess up Daniel's front axle so he couldn't brake with pressure in his first stint without the front running away

Let multiple cars undercut both Daniel and Yuki; "Let's try to survive," they say

Put Daniel on an aggressive soft tyre 20+ lap final stint but not swap him fast enough for it to mean anything

Force Yuki to switch with Daniel in the last few laps when Daniel's tyres were finally already going

Bungle the timing of said switch even more so both cars go into dirty track and lose time to Kmag, then promptly lose MORE time to blue flags for Max

Fail to switch back in last two corners when it was plain nothing was going to happen

Cookies?

summary: It’s winter break and you’re in the Christmas mood. It’s too bad every time you bake or cook something it burns up, thankfully your boyfriend is close to being a chef.

pairing: yuki tsunoda x fem! reader

warnings: none!! all fluff :))

radio check 🪩: Taking a mini break from my series, I’ll be working on more oneshots and requests, so send some in!

LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO

Some would say it was too early to decorate for Christmas, let alone bake cookies for Christmas.

But the Formula One 2023 season had recently ended, meaning it was winter break. Meaning Yuki would be home for Christmas.

He was currently out grocery shopping, probably buying foods he was definitely not allowed to eat, but you weren’t going to stop him. The poor guy had to suffer enough with training.

You hum the beat of “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, trying your best to sing along to the song, but the high notes proving to be too difficult.

The timer you set for the gingerbread cookies goes off, a smile lights up your face, happy that the cookies would be done before Yuki gets home.

Opening the oven your smile slowly disappears, instead of seeing the cute gingerbread men you were met with burnt cookies and a cloud of smoke.

Then to make matters worse the door to your shared apartment opened, “What the fuck…Y/n?! It smells like fucking shit, what happened?” Yuki says, rushing into the kitchen area.

You look over at Yuki, a frown clear on your face. He smiled at your appearance, Christmas themed oven mitts and apron adorned on your body.

“The cookies…” You mumble out, looking back down at the burnt cookies. You pull them out from the oven and set them on the kitchen island with a sigh.

“Those are cookies?” Yuki asks, which earns him a slap on the chest. “I’m sorry!” He adds on.

“It was supposed to be a surprise for you” You pout out, crossing your arms over your chest.

Yuki smiles at you, pressing a kiss to your forehead (pretend that you’re shorter or the same height as him 😭) then one to your lips.

“I’ll show you how to make good cookies, don’t worry honey” He softly says, pressing one more kiss to your forehead.

Yuki throws out the burnt cookies, taking out all of the supplies you needed for the cookies. “I needed to use that?” You ask, picking up an ingredient you didn’t even know you needed.

Yuki looks at you with shock and disbelief, “How do you survive while I’m away racing?”

“Oh shut up!” You groan out, shoving him playfully. “I should’ve made you eat those burnt cookies” You grumble out, watching him start to make the dough.

“What did you say?” He asks playfully, knowing what you said. “Nothing!” You reply with a grin.

But before you knew it flour was all over you, coating your shirt and apron. You let out a shocked gasp and look up at a grinning Yuki.

“Oops!” He says with a chuckle. “You are so dead Tsunoda” You tease, narrowing your eyes at him as you grab a handful of flour and throw it at him.

Once you finished your flour fight, and forced Yuki to clean it all up, the cookies were finished somehow.

“Can I decorate one?” You ask, watching Yuki finish making the icing for the cookies.

“I don’t know, are you going to burn it?” He asks you teasingly with a smirk, “I swear I will force you to actually go on a diet and tell your trainer about all of your cheat meals”

Yuki’s face instantly drops to one of fear, “How many cookies do you want to decorate baby?” He says with a nervous smile.

“Good answer!” You say with a smile, pressing a kiss to his lips. You pick up some of the frosting with your finger and smear it on his face, then press one more kiss to his lips.

He lets out a light chuckle, “I think we should invite Kika and Pierre over sometime to make cookies together..” He mumbles out, starting to decorate some of the gingerbread cookies.

“That means Kika and I will have to watch you and Pierre flirt” You pout out, starting to help him decorate the cookies.

Yuki gives you a knowing look, “I know if you could date Kika you would, so don’t act all innocent”

“What!!! That’s not true!! Pfft..” You say with a smile and giggle.

Yuki simply smiles at you, thinking that you were the most beautiful and amazing girl he ever met.

In the background of it all, you could hear the singing of Micheal Bublés cover of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”.

i cry over the haas boys constantly, cry about lance stroll, cried about logan, cried about the carlando podium, cry about daniel being outshined by yuki, cry about liam lawson not getting a seat even when he was outperforming yuki, cry about lewis and nico, cry about lew to ferrari, cry about every mention of jules, like im such a crier

-this was my rant to my friend about a tiktok i saw saying they cried over the drivers a lot, and just yeah. of course i cry over the drivers all the time. i cry over everything.

AS WELL!! I watched the Melbourne grand prix last night, it’s the first race I’ve ever watched and honestly? I’m so happy my first race was a non redbull win! It was so so cool, and the ferrari team all singing the italian anthem together at the end? like driving me insane this sport is so gorgeous guys. i just love it so much. also go aston martin, really sucks about the fernando penalty but did kinda look like he was breaking early. george russell crash 😭 the panic in his voice over the radio calling for a red flag? so so heartbreaking, i was so scared for him. i’m really proud of haas for getting two cars in the points, slay for yuki for getting points, shame for williams after all they’re shit about taking logan out of the car just to not get points, and then more horrid pit stops for stake/kick/sauber whatever they’re called! and alpine, driving their tractors.
