Decided to try and use my energy to do a load of laundry, ended up using all of it trying to cram the machine hatch open because the inner tray had fallen off and completely jammed the entire thing resulting in like 4 different errors and a locked hatch...
Machine had been left in a weird half open state which had resulted in like... 40cm of water inside (ew) which I spent an hour draining. I think I'm just... going to leave it alone for now and just give up. I'll go back to bed, cancel today and try again tomorrow

We're having a snow storm and all of public transit is in chaos. 8cm of snow, streets are full of ice and slush. My boss is absolutely blasting Christmas music.

Hi, just wanted to pop in and say sorry for no art lately. I'm trying to work with my PT to find ways to keep working with less strain. Right now I have a couple of commissions under me and I'm trying to work on those as best I can (I know the wait times are a bit longer right now and I do apologize for that).
I'm trying to get my studies, work and sick leave paper work done, and I'm hoping I can get government aid to afford my meds, since my living benefits will be cut by 80€/month due to government re-working the student benefits act. I am still working somewhat full time at the school and with the children's social services. It doesn't really pay much but the little extra income is necessary right now.
I really want to get back to art, I see all of the wonderful art this community makes and it inspires me to no end. So thank you for sharing all of that.
I hope tomorrow brings more answers, I hope tomorrow is brighter.
Love you all, and hope to see you soon Tuomo

Was really really hoping this episode would be over today but it's clearly not. Having to ask my friends to come over to help again, cause I literally ran out of clean plates and cutlery and I have no way of doing the dishes or making food alone ://. I really want to do work and be productive and it sucks to stuck in bed again when I have so many things on my to-do list. I can't keep both eyes open today without triggering another migraine, so I'm just going to lie here and wait for my friend to get home from practice cause I ran out of microwave meals.
I really hope this passes soon. It's been going on for 5 days now and I have a very important work meeting tomorrow.

Tried this "taking it easy" thing and ended up taking an 8 hour nap. What time is it.
...starting to think my doctor is right and I really have no idea how to relax or to take it easy

Okay, hi, I finally have an update on the health situation!! Working towards an official diagnosis <3
We've figured out the general umbrella term for the things going on, and we're working on seeing which of the more specific diagnostic terms are going to fit me particularly. I am... relieved at finally getting confirmation and answers as to what's going on, but I can't say I am not a bit scared as to what happens next.
My doctor is working on getting me officially tested for POTS, but I already fit under the general category of dysautonomia, aka my autonomic nervous system isn't doing it's job as well as I'd need it to.
I'm working with school staff and my health team to hopefully return to my studies before summer break, but I don't yet know if that's going to be possible. Still, already kind of excited about the possibility of maybe getting back.
Hope you've had a great day, I am very tired,
-R

Ripping up and eating your assignment doesn't get you out of making the assignment
Yes, I do know how to draw a dog
A work where you glue paper to other paper is a collage, no, really
Oil paint is also toxic
No, I can't let you leave 30 mins early
Yes, I am, really, an adult with a drivers license
Picking up fellow students when they annoy you is not allowed
Un-screwing the screws from your friends desk while they're not looking is also not allowed
If you didn't bring headphones, you cannot listen to music while you work
I can tell when you're on your phone, no, I'm not psychic, I can see under your desk.
Things I've had to explain to 8th graders (14yo) this week:
Drinking paint is bad
Drinking paint water is equally bad
Hot glue is hot
Watercolours are not less toxic than acrylics
How to refill a mechanical pencil
How to make purple (literally "blue-red" in Finnish)
Kicking people is not allowed
How to use a compass

UPDATE ON HEIKKI KOVALAINEN:
Iltasanomat 6/4/24
Heikki Kovalainen underwent open heart surgery - now tells about his health
Translated from Finnish
--Kovalainen states in his Instagram video that the aorta had expanded "actually quite a lot".
Because of the diagnosis, he was not allowed to drive in rallies or participate in physical activities. Kovalainen, 42, underwent open heart surgery at the Tampere Heart Hospital last week.
"The surgery went well. We got done exactly what we needed to do. The diseased part of the ascending aorta was cut out and an artificial piece was put in its place," Kovalainen says.
The first days after the surgery were difficult for Kovalainen. The surgery was big, and he has a long scar on his chest. However, the condition soon improved. Kovalainen has already returned home to recover.
"I have a chance to fully recover and reach full functional capacity, but of course only time will tell how it goes. At this point, however, the prognosis is good, which I am really relieved about."
Kovalainen says that he hopes that he will soon be able to go outside to exercise and do other activities.
"The main thing is to give the sternum time to heal. After that, I hope to get back to my usual routine," Kovalainen says at the end of the video.
Dilatation of the ascending aorta is an inherited condition that can have serious consequences. The illness came as a surprise to Kovalainen and his wife Catherine Kovalainen, as the man had no symptoms at all.
"Catherine is not the easily stressed type either. Of course, I was a little surprised that this is not visible much from the face. It's a relief that it was found. Now we know and know how to prepare," Kovalainen said in March. Aortic rupture can be the first symptom of the disease for some, and is often fatal.
"It's a bit of God's grace that it was found. A trade of chance and luck," Kovalainen stated.

Thank you everyone who's reached out, you know who you are. It is an unimaginable situation and it'll take a lot of time to come to terms with. I'm not teaching this week, but I wish I could hug every single kid in my classroom right now.
