I genuinely don’t get the all the “criticism” for Love and Thunder. To me, it was absolutely everything I could’ve asked for and more. It was well written, both in plot and character arcs. It was funny, emotional, heart warming and breaking, and also a bit scary at times. It had so many layers but it was still so FUN. Visually stunning and attention grabbing. It gave representation that didn’t feel forced or like it was a “hey we’re diverse” card, it just felt natural and in character. It carried its own story beautifully while setting up greatness for the future of the mcu (spoiler: imo I think big potential for Love being a young avenger member). There’s just so much nitpicking I could do in praise but I’m being general right now. In my personal opinion, it’s flawless and my new favorite marvel movie. I know everyone has different opinions and tastes, so some might have some dislikes. However, I think this movie was objectively good and enjoyable overall. And Taikia (as well as the writers) did a great job catering to all sides of the mcu audience, pleasing all the different kinds of fans (like the ‘dude bros’ but also us tumblrinas). I just- it’s so amazing to me

I don’t think anything will be funnier than Marvel Studios advertising Thor: Love And Thunder as a Jane Foster solo film, guest starring Chris Hemsworth, to gradually (over the years) revealing they made her a guest star (+punchline) in a loose adaption of her story arc that was critical of godhood, and how she grappled with her (terminal???) breast cancer.
I expected as much when they announced the GOTG cast would be involved, but it’s still a head shaking moment tbh.

Wait, I am so confused so forgive me for being unaware, but why are people saying Taika Waititi is problematic now? Like...what did he do? Because all I see are people being mad at him for his portrayal and take on the Thor franchise, which I don't see much of a problem with besides a few things.

I honestly don’t think I will get tired of the dysfunctional family that are the Guardians of the Galaxy. They barely have five seconds of screen time and spent that whole time yelling at each other and I loved every second of it

I understand why people are angry when their favorite celebrities support Israel and either support the genocide or say nothing about it. But I really don't think making posts about boycotting every movie or film they were ever in will help.
Because at the end of the day, the majority of Israel's funding is coming from Western governments. I may be wrong, but I don't believe Taikia Waititi or Billy Crystal are buying bombs for Israel. That's what Joe Biden's doing.
So at the end of the day, creating efforts to boycott celebrities is not going to be as effective as writing letters to representatives, protesting, spreading news on social media, boycotting the stored BDS recommends, or donating.
