I'm obviously thinking what it might look like if the Superfam got transported to Remnant and the world of RWBY, right? And it'd be pretty easy to pick out what kind of semblances the superfam would have. It would be easy enough to translate their powers to the use of dust and energy etc.
Except for Lena.
Lena, who doesn't have any powers, except what fledgling magical gifts she's developed on earth-- abilities that haven't come with her to remnant.
When the fight eventually finds them, the rest of the fam protects her, but they take a beating doing so, and she's pretty much a distraction, a second thought to defeating grimm.
It makes Lena feel wretched, a feeling exacerbated by the fact that they're all back in their teens, a period adult-Lena might have characterized as the darkest period in her life. When she's inevitably captured, Kara has to track her down to a cell and finds Lena despondent inside.
Kara should just leave her there, Lena mutters. At least here she can't be a distraction, or a liability. Maybe on Earth she had her intelligence, but she can no longer rely on technology thanks to her magic there, let alone the fact her tech wouldn't work on Remnant anyway.
Here, the niggling sensation of being out of place and not belonging are made manifest.
Here, she's nothing.
Kara looks her dead in the eye.
"We don't protect you because you're smart. Or because you design cool tech. Or because you're rich. We protect you because you would do the same for us. Because that's what you do for family. We love you, Lena. Semblance or no semblance, magic or no magic-- you're one of us."
Meanwhile, the baddie is monologuing to the others on the battlefield, as grimm seethe and rage around them. Both teams are exhausted and outnumbered. They need help, and their nemesis knows it.
"It was so easy!" he crows. "Even the great Lena Luthor, succumbed to a quivering pile of hormones and teenage depression. Useless--"
"That's where you're wrong," Lena barks, as Kara floats down to land them both on the ground. Lena steps from her arms, glaring at the villain, who suddenly quails at the unexpected sight of her.
"But--you--"
"I am Lena Luthor," Lena declares, "and I am not worthless."
As she says the words, her skin starts to glow with a dawning semblance. Suddenly all the nature-based magic that previously had nowhere to go comes pouring out of her.
It's game time.
The Superfriends and Team RWBY and friends surge into action, and this time Lena is in the thick of it, using erupting boulders to launch Ruby high into the air and writhing nests of vines to cushion landings. They work seamlessly together, trusting not only each other but more importantly-- themselves.
Before long, the final wyvern is dropped and faded away, leaving them in a field of churned earth and new growth greenery. Kara lands next to Lena, grinning like she knew Lena had the magic in her all along.
In quiet understanding and gratitude, Lena presses a kiss to the corner of her mouth. Blake and Yang glance at each other at the sight, blushing-- but their fingers hook together anyway.
"Come on," Lena says. "It's time to go home."

“Hey Mrs Wayne !” - Fem!Reader x Batfam x Young Justice x JLA
Synopsis : Your children invited their friends over a few times. You met every single kid in the team they call “Young Justice”...but you never ever met their parents/ guardians/mentors. It comes as quite a shock to all the Justice League members when they realize their kids know you well, while they didn’t even know you existed.
Just a short and silly story. A sort of AU in which the younger superheroes met Batman’s family before their older counterpart hehe. I hope you’ll like it :) :
Please, do not repost my stories ANYWHERE else, under any other form, do not translate and then repost them either. Thank you.
My masterlist(s) : @ella-ravenwood-archives
__________________________________________________
Bruce was a secretive man. And for a very long time, none of the Justice League members knew about his family. None of them knew he was actually married, and the “Robins” were his kids (although they had suspicions about the latter).
But there came a day when the “secret was out”.
The main reason Bruce told them who he really was, was as a show of trust. He wanted to prove he trusted them, and he wanted them to trust him.
It was vital, for the team to work properly. Once they discovered he had contingency plans for each and everyone of them, it was the only solution to gain back their trust.
Of course, Bruce would never admit openly that he considered many of them his friends, and that it was actually a great relief to finally tell them the truth (after all, he knew since a long time THEIR secret identity...he wasn’t the best detective in the world for nothing). But it was a necessary step.
Once they knew who he was, it was as if they were finally truly a team. They all trusted each others enough to divulge their real self.
Funny, when you think about it. Bruce’s paranoia and constant need for “plans” (you did convince him to go see a therapist about that), his great mistrust in others, ended up being what cemented everyone’s relationship.
Bruce’s distrust lead to everyone trusting one another with their lives. They revealed who they were, as civilians. And Batman did it first. He told them first.
“Bruce Wayne.” He said, removing his cowl. Revealing one’s real identity was dangerous, for people in their line of work...yet he trusted them. He showed them that his initial wariness had vanished.
Batman showed them who he really was. And in more than one way, as they all came to realize that, if he was THE Bruce Wayne...Then he had quite a big family !
What a shock !
And what a greater shock, when they realized their kids knew all about it long before they did. When they realized they knew you well, when they didn't even know you existed !
Superman
Clark was the first person from Bruce’s “work” who met you.
Of course, he was. Who else, but Batman’s BEST friend would meet his family first ? Who would the Dark Knight trust more amongst the JLA members, but the one who he first called “friend” ?
Who else but Clark, could meet you first ?
It’s not like anyone else had Bruce’s trust or anything. Not like he would let anyone else get close to his family. Come to his home. Meet his wife and kids, unmasked.
Right ?
...Right ?
...
RIGHT ?!
Wrong.
Clark was not the first person to ever meet Batman’s family. Hell. He wasn’t even the second person to do so...or the third...or the fourth...
When he first arrived at Wayne Manor, he had almost a sense of pride. Because he was so sure that he was the first person that Bruce ever allowed in his home. In his personal life (the first superfriend, at least).
Imagine his surprise, when Bruce introduced him to you, and you were playing video games with your children and...CONNER ?! What the-
Kon was a good friend of Dick, and one of Tim’s best friend.
And at first, Clark rejected him.
And it didn’t take more.
Of course, you’d welcome with open arms a lost “little” kid who didn’t know who he truly was, and who was shunned by someone who could help him out. Of course, Bruce would say “yes” when Dick asked if Conner could sleep over one night the boy felt particularly alone.
Taking care of lost ducklings was kind of your jam.
Conner was like a nephew, to you. He would often crash at Wayne Manor. Bruce knew he needed someone there in his life, and he knew that being as powerful as Superman meant he could be dangerous if he didn’t learn how to process his emotions.
Of course, OF COURSE Conner would be welcomed in your home. Not only was he one of your son’s closest friend, but he was also just a child. You’d never leave him all alone.
Everyone in the Young Justice league had someone to go see if they needed, except for Conner.
You became “his confident”, when Clark was still rejecting him. Nowadays of course, their relationship softened. Over the years, they developed a filial relationship, because let’s be honest, the first time Clark met Conner, there wasn’t really much even a chance of a relation. Ah, but the man of steel came around, of course. In part thanks to Bruce. In part because Kon was actually a good kid.
But before that, who was there to guide Conner ?
You and Bruce.
You especially, gave him the motherly care he obviously never knew. Martha and Lois would gladly accept this role later on, but at the beginning, you were there.
He wasn’t always home of course, and you never adopted him because you and Bruce both knew he belonged with the Kents. But it didn’t mean that Conner didn’t hung a LOT in your home.
And so when Clark first came, thinking he was the first to get in the intimacy of Batman’s house, and he saw him playing video game with Bruce’s wife (whom he didn’t even know existed)...it was a shock, to say the least.
Even more so when he realized Kon seemed very close to you.
He clearly knew you, called you by your first name and everything ! What ?! But Batman was HIS best friend, so he should know his wife first !
You and Clark became friends quickly, it was so easy, to become friend with him. He was most definitely the “golden retriever” type of the group, and easy to approach (unlike a certain husband).
And although Superman would never admit it, he had been particularly friendly to you (risking Bruce’s infamous bout of jealousy) and such, because he wanted to “catch on” on Conner’s “advance”. There was no way the boy could know his best friend’s family more than him. No way, nuh-hu. Clark didn’t make so many efforts for Batman to finally accept him, only to realize that someone else got to know him better !
Do you know how long it took the mighty Superman to finally break down Bruce’s defenses ? To finally reach him, and become friends ? How many times he got rejected, before he finally managed to come to Wayne Manor ?
And what, Conner had been here the entire time ? Oh, and the boy looked at him that day, as if to say : “Yeah. Hurts to feel left out, right ?!”, which fueled Clark’s need to be loved by everyone even more (and put a lot of things into perspective..;after all, it’s seeing Conner so well integrated in your family that made him realize he had to be there for the boy).
It wasn’t fair. Clark didn’t even know you existed ! Aaaaaah.
Yes. It was honestly quite upsetting. To this day, Clark was still a little vexed.
Kon always saw it as a great sort of “revenge” on the man who, at first, rejected him so adamantly. On the man who wanted nothing to do with him.
Over the years though, this little fact became a source of “competition” between the Kent boys. Later on, Clark’s youngest son, Jon, would be over at your house WAY too often. It’s funny, because you’d say yourself that Damian was spending too much time at the Kent’s house.
Your boys were best friends, of course. Ah, but it was a bit of a competition, between Clark and his kids, to know who knew the Waynes the best...
It never ceased to amuse you.
WONDER WOMAN
Diana often made a distinction, in her head, between the Batman she met at the beginning of the Justice League, and the Batman he slowly became.
When she first met him, when he first approached her about that JLA idea, it was clear the man had been alone for a long time. That he wasn’t used to work as a team. Or rather, that he was used to people listening to him. To people doing what he said. That he was used to work alone, and to not rely on anyone else. To not trust anyone else. To not let anyone else into his heart.
That Batman was cold, sad, distant, and honestly kind of an ass.
Over those first few years though, Diana noticed a difference. He became a little more open. A little easier to deal with.
Years later, Diana would learn that you met him a little while after the league was created. That you met him at his worst, and somehow still decided to stick with him, and even marry him. That when you appeared in his life, it been a very long time since he last truly trusted someone (someone who wasn’t Alfred).
Of course, it took him time to open up a bit more. But she did notice a difference. In her opinion, there was definitely two different Batman.
The one before you, and the one after you.
Let’s not be too optimistic, she still thought that Bruce could be an ass, and he was often arrogant and inconsiderate. But she still saw a slight switch in him. An improvement.
Haha. Of course the source of his improvement was a woman. As a proud amazon, Diana wasn’t surprised.
What surprised her, however, was that her little proteges, Donna and Cassie...knew all about you.
How come did they never tell her anything ?
“Mrs. Wayne asked us not to.”
Was their answer. And when Diana met you, she understood. Yes. Yes there was something about you. Something that made her believe that you were the one who helped Bruce get away from his dark path, and onto a brighter future. Something that made her trust, that you took good care of Donna and Cassie. Something that made her like you instantly.
What was it ?
She wasn’t sure. Maybe it was how you so easily got along with her proteges ? How they seemed to fully trust you ? Maybe it was something in your voice, that she found soothing. Maybe it was the fact that you managed to tame the bat ?
Diana would never quite know for sure. But she always suspected the fact that both Wonder Girls seemed to adore you played a part in how fast you two became friends.
She was the only one who was not bothered in the least to meet you after the kids did. On the contrary, it felt right, to meet you and befriend you AFTER those two accepted you. Yes. Yes.
It felt right.
FLASH
What the fuck. What the fuck. WHAT THE FUCK ?!
Those words kept repeating in Barry’s head as he saw his “little” nephew, Wally, run around Batman’s kitchen as if he owned the place.
Indeed, Wally just casually trudged to the fridge, got a soda out of it, and then took a piece of the cake that was on the table, without even asking. He got a plate from a cabinet...He knew were the plates were !
And no one batted an eye ! Not even scary old Batman, who certainly couldn’t approve of such behavior, right ?!
What the hell was going ooooon ??
“Hey Mrs. Wayne !”
Wally exclaimed happily when he saw you. And then he-
He-
He hugged you ????
WHAAAAAT ?!
“Hi there Wally, it’s been a while. You’ve been behaving, I hope.”
“Always, you know me Mrs W.”
You knew him ?? Yeah ok. That was it. Barry was completely lost.
Only a few weeks earlier, did he learn that Batman’s true identity was Bruce Wayne. Of course, he knew the man. Everyone in the USA knew him. And his wife and kids. So when he was invited to Wayne Manor, he knew what to expect.
He knew you’d be there, as well as the kids he already knew (although masked). He never met you before, but he knew about you. And recognized you.
He thought he’d make his favorite nephew happy by bringing him with him. He thought he had such a scoop, that Wally wouldn’t believe his eyes when he’d realize who Bruce Wayne really was.
And here they were.
Barry, completely lost, and Wally, apparently knowing you and all ??
Ah. Ah, now it made more sense.
This is why Batman almost cracked a smile when he asked him if he could bring his nephew, because Wally was good friends with Robin number 1 and 2 (Barry couldn’t believe they all grew up so fast, he refused to call Dick “Nightwing”, or Jason “Red Hood”, and kept acting as if they were still 13).
He thought he was going to make “Kid Flash” happy. He thought he would blow his mind.
AH ! And here they were. Barry was faced with all of you, and you clearly found the situation funny as you all smiled. Even Bruce, wasn’t far from a smile, and had a crooked smirk on his face, clearly amused (it was a little sadistic of him, really).
It didn’t take long to Barry to make 2 and 2 together. He realized that, quite a long time ago now, the kids told each other’s secrets identity. That they trusted each other, and bonded faster than their adult “counterpart”.
A surprising thing that Barry realized too, and that he kept somewhere in his mind just in case he needed some leverage : Batman couldn’t say “no” to his kids. That’s how the entire superkids army ended up at Wayne Manor before the “adults”. Because Dick asked if his friends could come over, and Bruce didn’t have the heart to say “no”.
That’s how all of them knew you. That’s how- aaah.
Wally looked at his uncle, and smiled widely, saying :
“Haha. For once, I was faster than you !”
MARTIAN MANHUNTER
M’gann has never been good at hiding things from her uncle.
It’s not that he would willingly read her mind, it’s just that sometimes, her thoughts just...spilled out of her. She couldn’t help it. When there was something preoccupying her, she thought about it so much that J’onn would just always know about it.
That’s one of the reasons her friends never really told her secrets they wanted to keep from the adults, when they knew J’onn would be around.
Yes. M’gann's “poker brain” was horrible. And yet-
Yet she managed to keep for herself the fact that she was invited to multiple sleepover at Wayne Manor, and that her friends Tim and Dick, who happened the be Robins at one point, were Bruce Wayne’s sons (THE Batman).
It hadn’t always been easy, but she made it. And one of the reason, was because she really, really, REALLY liked Batman’s wife.
You.
You were so nice, and motherly. You treated all of those kids as if they were yours, when they came to visit.
If you knew M’gann was going to come around, there would be freshly baked cupcakes in the kitchen. Her favorites, of course.
M’gann felt a deep need to protect you.
All of the kids, felt that. Actually, unbeknownst to you and every other adults, the children made a pact when they all first met you : They were to make sure no harm would happen to you.
Their reasoning was : first, you were the mom of some of their best friends, so, duh. But second, without you, clearly, Batman would crumble. And Batman was one of the backbone of the JLA. If he fell, they could all fall. Yes, a secret pact was made. “Protect Mrs. Wayne.”
Plus, you always welcomed them into your home with opened arms, you were warm and nice, and your cupcakes were the best. All the more reasons, right ?
J’onn knew you held a special place in those children’s heart, when he first met you, realized that M’gann knew you all this time, and yet she never once let shown. She never once let her thoughts about you show, while she’s never been good at hiding things.
Martian Manhunter knew, that you were special, thank to those kids. Thanks to them knowing you before he, or any JLA members, did.
Besides, you had to be special to bear to live with someone like Batman, right ?
AQUAMAN
“Hey Kaldy !”
You say happily, seeing the young man coming up the stairs of your home.
“Hello, Mrs. Wayne. How goes it ?”
“Pretty well, and yourself, young man ?”
“Good, as well.”
There’s a short silence. During which Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, king of Atlantis, looks at his protege, and then at the woman next to Bruce (whom he knew now was Batman), and then back at his protege, and then-
“...Kaldy ??”
He exclaims suddenly, in utter disbelief. How ? How could Kaldur know who you were when he himself didn’t even know you existed just a few weeks earlier ? How, and why ??
And did you call him Kaldy ? Kaldur disliked nicknames, how come you were allowed to call him Kaldy ??
You saw the confusion on Arthur’s face, but you misunderstood it. You thought he was surprised to hear you call him a nickname (because you knew the boy and his distastes for such thing well), but it wasn’t just because of this. Aquaman was especially surprised that his loyal subject and protege knew Batman’s wife, while he didn’t !! You said :
“Oh yes, Kaldy, because Kal was taken. It’s Clark’s birth name, and honestly it gets too confusing when two people are called the same. Although it was funny to just say “Kal”, watch both of them turn around, and wonder to whom I was talking haha...MMmmm. I guess I have a bad sense of humor.”
You laugh to yourself, and he cannot believe that your his wife. Yes he sees how softly Bruce looks at you (even if once he noticed Arthur was looking at him himself, he started to were a stoic expression, schooling his face properly once again).
He cannot believe Kaldur knows you, when he didn’t even know you existed, yet clearly the boy is well familiarized with you.
“You- You came here before, Kaldur’ahm ?”
Aqualad is clearly a bit embarrassed, as he says :
“I am sorry, my king. But I promised Mrs. Wayne I wouldn’t say anything, she said if I did, Batman would get...cranky.”
Bruce turns his head towards you, his eyes narrowing as if to say : “I can’t believe you said that”, your smile which meant : “please, you know it’s true” only made him narrow his eyes further...
And on that note-
Arthur starts to burst out laughing.
The situation was so absurd. What. He didn’t know his friend of many years was married, but Kaldur did ? And the reason why the boy never mentioned her was because Batman would “get cranky” ??
Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.
Soon, you all laughed together, and the rest was history.
Yes, Kaldur had been coming to Wayne Manor for a long time now, and so what ? He was close friends with Batman’s kids. That was enough of an explanation.
After all, it was the “adults” fault that they didn’t trust each other as fast as the kids did, right ?
GREEN ARROW (with guest appearance from Black Canary)
Roy had been a long time friend of Jason. And you held the boy dearly inside your heart, because you knew he helped your son tremendously.
Both Roy and Jay knew the pain of feeling abandoned, and left for dead.
It was only natural, for Roy to be an “extended member of the family”. He was genuinely like a nephew, to you. You were never surprised to see him in your kitchen, unannounced, devouring a cake or something.
“Sup Mrs. Wayne”, he’d say, giving you a high five, your son Jason never being too far.
Roy was always welcomed. In fact, he was much more welcomed than Oliver will ever be. One thing your husband LOVED doing : annoy the crap out of other billionaires. Especially when they were arrogant like Oliver Queen (the irony of that statement never fully reaching your husband’s brain...)
Too bad for Green arrow, eh ?
It was one of Bruce’s favorite past time, oops. And so when Oliver first came to Wayne Manor, accompanied by Dinah, and he realized that Roy was there while the boy was currently filtering his calls...the archer was shook.
No but for real. Here was Roy, sitting at the kitchen table, eating a home cooked meal, relaxed in his chair, clearly alive and well...all the while Oliver had been worried sick ! He would never admit it of course, but he was !
But clearly, “Speedy” (now Arsenal) was all good.
You had invited Green Arrow for dinner (Bruce didn’t want to invite him, mainly just to piss him off because he had invited everyone else already), and oh, Roy and your husband had way too much fun taunting him.
And what the hell, although Roy had eaten two full plates already, he asked for a third one when he saw that Oliver was going to ask if there was any food left. You served the boy, of course, and Bruce insisted for him to finish the dish (just so Oliver couldn’t have more).
You dotted over Roy so much, that Oliver felt almost hurt. Beyond the fact Bruce and the boy obviously were trying to annoy him, Oliver realized how many years he lost. How far from Roy he was, now.
Seeing how close you all were, He realized...
This needed to change. And it would.
************
“I trained a lot here.” Artemis said matter of factly, when Oliver asked her how come she knew about Wayne Manor before he did.
“...I beg you pardon ?” He said, a little offended. Why wouldn’t she train at his place ??
“They have an insane gym, and in the cave they have one of them “danger room”. Like in the X-Men. So we often met here to train together. Sometimes because it’s honestly closer to come to Gotham than the YJ headquarter’s. But mainly because Dick is a BIG Mama’s boy.”
Artemis snickered, looking at your oldest son. And, it was true. The reason the Young Justice sometimes came to train in the Batcave rather than at their headquarters, was because Dick was easily homesick (those short years during which he didn’t talk to Bruce anymore, and was away with the Titans, were tough for him).
And so what ? He lost his family once, could anyone blame him that he was so traumatized he easily missed his mom ? Nope. No one.
Doesn’t mean they never teased him though.
“As my little brother Damian would say : it’s hardly something I’m ashamed of, good ol’ Artemis.”
They laugh together, and you shake your head. You turn to Oliver to tell him that-
Wait, was he pouting ? Oh. Oh he definitely was ! And why, exactly ?
Because Artemis, whom he took care of, whom he took under his wing...KNew you before he did, and liked Bruce’s gym better than his.
Fair enough.
DICK
It was Dick, who first convinced his dad to let his friends come over.
“Absolutely not” he said, at first. But then Dick did his infamous puppy eyes. The little fucker always managed to get some unshed tears in them, always managed to look utterly sad even when it wasn’t really the case.
Your little buddy even went as far as saying : “I just- I just wanted to feel normal” in a broken voice, lowering his head as he left the room (pure acting, of course).
Bruce stood no chance. Alfred and you gave him that look that meant : “Don’t be so heartless !”, and Dick pulled at his heartstring by acting as if he was truly hurt by his refusal.
No chance at all, all Batman that he was.
He couldn’t resist his son already, so when even his wife was pleading with him...”Fine. But we need to set up some rules !”
1. None of them could say who he really was to anyone.  2. No Sleepover  Fine, no sleepover exceeding 3 nights ! 3. The Batcave is strictly forbidden (added later : except for training sessions) 4. No mess.  5. Keep. The. Whole. Thing. SECRET.
And that’s how your house welcomed a bunch of little superkids (and how lots of shenanigans ensued...but that, is another story).
JASON
Bruce never regretted saying “yes” to Dick all those years before, about bringing friends over.
Not only did it also made Jason feel like a normal kid inviting his buddies at his place, but after his death and resurrection...his friends truly saved him.
It’s them, who managed to convince him to speak to his parents again. Who brought him home again. Yes. Yes this was something Bruce knew he would never regret.
Saying “yes” to his son’s request, all those years ago, and welcoming into his private home a bunch of kids with famous parents/guardians/mentors, had been one of his best idea. Because there was no doubt in his mind, that the fact those children knew you and him since so long, saved his son.
TIM
Tim, at first, had difficulty to connect with others.
It’s thanks to being part of a team, and them being allowed in his home, that he developed his social skills more.
After all, the boy had been left alone for so long. Had the attention of no one for so long. Of course, it took him a bit of time to get acclimated to having a real family, and even friends !
Tim organized the best movie marathons, and once a month, your living room would be invaded by a bunch of teens who would steal every single snack in your house.
Ah, but it was worst it. It was worst it, if only to see your son so happy, and not alone anymore.
DUKE
Duke was never part of any Young Justice or Teen Titans team...It was before his time. All those “kids” and “teens” were adults now, for the most part. Or his age, but already playing in the big league.
Sometimes, he felt inadequate. And behind. But then you’d reassure him. Of course he couldn’t quite be on the same level they were yet, he just started his “career” as a vigilante !
You encouraged him to mingle with his siblings’ friends, and he did. Duke was a pretty social lad. It didn’t take him much time, to bond with everyone. Especially since they had one subject they were sure to agree on : how great you were.
Ah yes. Of course. You were often the subject of many conversation, because honestly, how many people would let that many lost kids in their home like that ?
CASS
Cass, just like Duke, had never been in a team.
Which made her feel left out, at first...
But oh, this was without counting on her brothers. Those boys would NEVER make their sister feel alone. Feel like she wasn’t a part of their lives, in every way.
Dick introduced his friends to her very quickly. Jason and Tim did too. And of course Damian.
They all bragged so much about her (especially Damian), they all put her on such a high pedestal, that it made all her insecurities and sadness about not fitting in go away.
So what if she wasn’t part of any team (yet) ? She was part of a family, and that was enough. Plus, even though all her brothers’ friends got along really well with you, she knew you’d always choose them over anyone else if you had to make a choice. And honestly for now, she’d settle with “just” a family.
It had already been so hard, to manage to open up and accept your love. She didn’t think she was quite ready for “friends” yet. But she will be. She knew she’d be, one day.
For now, family was enough.
DAMIAN
Your little one would never admit it, but he was sometimes so jealous.
Some of those Young Justice kids...Were not kids anymore. And had been coming around your house for nearly decades.
When the first Young Justice team was made, Dick was 13. Barely older than Damian was now. His friends met you before he did...
That’s what upset Damian, sometimes. Knowing that they grew up with you more than he did. Knowing that they knew you before everyone else, even before the JLA !!
It wasn’t fair. How come they got to spend so many years with you, so much time with you, when he didn’t ?
Yes. Damian was often jealous of how well the Young Justice, and Teen Titans kids knew you.
Clark and him actually bonded greatly over that, to your husband’s exasperation. You thought it was funny. And cute. And definitely reminded your husband that “jealousy was probably a hereditary trait”, which always vexed him.
Oh. And you made sure that your son knew you loved him so much, that there really were no reason to feel jealous..
EVERYONE
Little by little, everyone came to Wayne Manor at one point.
They all slowly met Batman’s family. Secret identities didn’t exist for them anymore. Annual barbecue was a thing (which mainly happened at Wayne Manor, because Bruce was the only one who had a backyard big enough, and remote enough, to invite all the most powerful superhero on the planet, without anyone even noticing).
They realized Bruce was just a man (and not a vampire, thank you very much mister Jordan).
A family man.
A few years back, it would’ve never crossed any of their mind to think that. What ? Batman ? With a family ? Right...
And yet. Yet it was the truth.
Yes. They slowly got accustomed to that fact. But there was one thing they’d never get used to : it was how their kids, their wards, nephews or nieces, their sidekicks, the children they decided to mentor...Knew all along.
Long before they did.
It was quite an adjustment, to realize Batman had a wife, and to see their kids know everything about her already.
You admit that, if the roles were reversed, you’d probably be very surprised. Especially since you knew all about them, thanks to their children.
But in a way, it made sense, didn’t it ? It made sense, that those kids knew you before the adults did. That they hung out at Wayne Manor a lot, given the fact it was the biggest house at disposal, and they were great friends with your children.
Yes. It just made sense, that you got to meet the kid first. Because of your own kids. Of course.
And it made you so happy, to see all of them grow to be such fine and decent people.
When you thought about that time, all those years ago, when they first started to know you, you often felt a bit nostalgic.
Ah, but years passed, but the friendships and love you all shared never faded.

What would a Mass Effect Supercorp AU look like to you? Sole survivor vanguard Kara? A mishmash of game and SG crew-mates?
For a mass effect au I would probably not try to adapt Shepard's story and companions, i would just use the world!
Lena could be someone who like, broke away from her family ties in Cerberus? And Kara is maybe someone whose family was experimented on and killed by Cerberus, and the Superfriends form because they've all lost people to the organization and are trying to undo the harm they do in whatever ways they can. And Lena joins up as someone who knows the ins and outs, and nobody 100% trusts her except for Kara -
Oh god stop making me think of AUs, I have too many WIPs already!!!!!!

crepe AU: part 1 | part 2 | part 3 day 19: hazy, day 22: art, day 24: enchanted, day 30: magic
---
It’s hollow, the victory.
Anticlimactic, even.
She’s not sure how to proceed when the dust settles and the world is looking at them—eyes brimming with some combination of curiosity, disbelief, and horror.
Her magic beamed into Supergirl’s heart as she’d always intended, and she watched the hero dramatically writhe in agony, the electricity crackling through her blue veins until she fell unconscious.
As she stands right above the exhausted and unconscious body of Supergirl—because she’s not a killer (unlike her failed brother), she notes that the fallen hero almost looks peaceful. Her blonde hair has fanned out and her head is tilted slightly to the side, exposing the column of her neck where remnants of the electric blue streaks are still lit up until they finally dissipate.
The silence that engulfs everyone around them—good guys and bad guys alike—is nothing compared to her tempestuous heartbeat thundering in her ears, her pulse a torrential storm as she makes sense of this new world.
The Demon Queen has defeated Supergirl once and for all.
Her henchmen act as makeshift pallbearers as they carry Supergirl’s unconscious body from the center of National City and into the portal to her secret lair. Which isn’t so very secret at all, not when it’s located at the top floor of a National City downtown highrise. Why bother hiding elsewhere when she can do so in plain sight?
She hears the screams from the so-called Superfriends as they attempt to run after and rescue their precious hero, but those sounds are quickly silenced when she closes the portal. They yammer and scream every time they do this song and dance, so she’d rather not hear their squawking during her victory lap.
With a flick of her hand, she signals to her henchmen to gently place Supergirl’s unconscious body on the table. Another flick and they dutifully file out of the room with the last of them softly closing the double doors with a soft click.
She takes her decanter from the bar cart and pours herself three fingers deep of her favorite whiskey. Humans may be imbeciles, but their liquor game is quite impeccable.
She does not move from her spot and instead takes one big swig of her drink, the alcohol warmly traveling down her throat and into her belly. She’d finally captured the superhero, ready to mold her into whatever she desired as she attempts to take over the world. She had anticipated this taking a little while longer, but she instead pats herself on the back for her efficiency.
She places her glass back on the counter and slowly makes her way towards the hero. Her hand hovers above Supergirl’s still peaceful face and is about to summon a spell that will wake the superhero, when blue eyes open causing her to jump back, startled at the now conscious woman in front of her trying to get up.
Supergirl groans before slowly pushing herself up into a seating position while she, with eyes practically bulging out of her head, stares in disbelief.
“Ugh, did the power go out?” Supergirl asks, her voice gravelly even as she swings her legs by the side of the table. She is still frozen where she stands as she tries to process how and why Supergirl has managed to wake up.
Horrified, she can only stare at the superhero in front of her. “What?”
Supergirl looks up at her, the blue of her eyes so apparent and striking in the light of her lair that she momentarily forgets who she is, who Supergirl is, and what it is that they’re doing here right now.
Supergirl attempts to stand, arm reaching forward towards her with far too much familiarity. So in a move that’s very much unbecoming of the Demon Queen, she panics , and she waves her hand so that Supergirl immediately falls back asleep, slumping back onto the table with a thud.
When Supergirl wakes up for the second time, she has placed her in one of the special holding cells. She’s leaning back in her chair, her legs folded at the knee, and her hands joined together and resting on her thigh.
She’s been sitting right outside of the cell of the sleeping superhero trying to make sense of what transpired earlier. She surmises that the only reason for Supergirl to have prematurely woken up is due to her alien DNA and her demonic magic reacting volatilely with one another. Regardless of whatever confusion she might temporarily feel, she mustn’t let her guard down especially considering that Supergirl is now within her lair.
Silently, she watches as Supergirl rubs at her eyes, languidly stretching. Her arms rise above her head, lifting the shirt that she’s been changed into so that Lena catches a sliver of a tan and muscled midsection. Supergirl then places her feet flat on the ground and sits on the edge of the bed, her face betraying nothing of her thoughts and feelings like she hadn’t just been shot, like she hadn’t just been taken hostage by her demonic nemesis.
Supergirl fully opens her eyes and scans the room, her face finally taking stock of her surroundings. Then, Supergirl turns to look at her and smiles.
“Good morning, baby.”
She stills—her entire body frozen at being called a pet name, least of all by Supergirl. Instead, her face expertly dons a menacing scowl and electing not to say a word. Supergirl must have sensed that when she frowns for a second and then amends her statement.
“Good afternoon?”
Her scowl deepens.
“Good evening?”
She shakes her head in confusion and disappointment before waving her hand. Just like earlier, Supergirl falls back to sleep, slumping back down on the mattress. She sighs and stands from her seat and walks up the stairs back to the main floor of her lair.
Supergirl wakes for the third time, and this time she is prepared. (Or so she says.)
The superhero continues to stir and pushes herself up, the motions an exact copy of her movements from the last time.
“You’re finally awake.”
“I feel like a train hit me.” Supergirl opens her eyes more fully and frowns when she glimpses at her current predicament. “Babe, what’s going on? Why am I—”
“Excuse me? I’m no one’s babe.”
Supergirl snorts and shakes her head, but when Lena doesn’t join her, she stops and her face transforms to a confused frown. “Uh? What’s going on, baby?”
“I said—” she growls but stops herself knowing that it’s not much of an upper hand against the superhero if she’s the one riled up. “What are you playing at?” she asks with a frown.
Supergirl’s face scrunches in confusion. “What do you mean? I just woke up. I haven’t done anything.”
She clenches her jaw and her gaze hardens. “Do you think this is a game?”
“What’s going on, sweetheart? And why am I in this weird room?”
Frustrated, she shoots out of her seat and slams her hand on the glass and Supergirl starts, but doesn’t move back. The fright in Supergirl’s eyes surprises her more than the fact that she’s jumped out of her seat, reacting beyond her normal blasé passivity.
“Whatever mind game you’re trying to play, it’s not going to work. You can’t fool me.”
Supergirl rushes forward despite being encased in reinforced glass as she stands directly in front of her. Her hands flatten against the glass until their palms are pressed up to each other save for a few scant centimeters between them. Her tanned face is awash with concern and confusion. “Hey, what’s going on? Talk to me. What’s all this?”
“What kind of fool do you take me for, Supergirl?”
“Supergirl? What kind of weird kinky name is that? Baby, it’s me, Kara.”
She steps back, her mouth agape. With a quick and panicked wave of her hand, she watches as Kara crumples to the ground unconscious.
She sulks in her office as it overlooks downtown National City. The idiots over at the DEO are still running around doing their best to look for their fallen hero. Meanwhile, their fallen hero is fast asleep down the hall because Lena isn’t sure what she’ll find when she wakes Supergirl next.
She’s not rattled.
She’s not concerned.
She’s not—
“Your Majesty?”
She glances at Jess, her ever reliable right hand woman, who is standing patiently at the door.
“Yes?”
“She’s awake.”
“Very well.”
She takes her sweet time walking towards the holding cell and by the time she arrives, Supergirl is already waiting for her. She’s leaning against the far wall, her ankles crossed, her arms held over her chest. She waits in the shadows, carefully eyes the steadiness in Supergirl’s body language: broad shoulders are tense, fingers fidgeting against the hemline of her buttoned shirt, brows furrowing as eyes intensely stare at the ground.
That woman is Supergirl, and she knows it.
Yet when she allows the sound of her heels to click against the floor as she walks out of the shadows, the startled jump from inside the cell hints at otherwise. She banishes the thought, though, knowing it foolish to readily hand her enemy power she knows they don’t have.
She doesn’t say anything immediately, and it seems her held prisoner follows suit. Until, of course, Supergirl ushers forward with balled fists against the glass pane.
“Baby, can you tell me what’s going on?”
She immediately scowls at that. “Do not call me that. I am not your baby.”
Aghast, Supergirl steps back, despondency written all over her face. “ Lena. Please.”
At the utterance of her name for the first time in decades —one she barely recognizes as her own after burying it so deeply in the corners of her mind as a last means of her own survival only to be upended so easily by the woman in front of her now.
“How do you know my name?!” she bellows as she pushes forward, magicking away the glass divider between them. Supergirl falters even further until the back of her legs hit the mattress and she’s falling on her back and scrambling to get away. Lena brings a hand up and instantly produces a sickly green dagger—a weapon made entirely with Kryptonite—poised to stab Supergirl if the woman so much as dares to move a single muscle.
Supergirl has her arms up to cover her face, the blue of her eyes completely blanketed with fear, her hands visibly trembling in the loosened fists she holds up against Lena. Yet she utters words that cut and penetrate deeply into Lena’s entire soul.
“Wh—what do you mean? It’s me! Kara! We’re—Lena, you’re my wife!”
Pathetic. That’s how she feels as she stares out of her office building overlooking National City.
She thinks about what had just transpired an hour ago—the way in which Supergirl, in all of her arrogance and righteousness to fight with her, has never once looked fearfully at her, has never once looked scared. Until now.
And wife?
Lena can’t stand it. Not when her ostracization and loneliness all of her life has become its own companion, a guarantee and promise to herself that she can rely on—all but gone at a silly notion as someone’s partner, someone’s equal, someone’s beloved.
She is and has none of those.
“Explain to me what happened to you.”
She walks in without preamble standing right by the glass pane once again.
Supergirl—no, Kara, she says—takes a moment of carefully eyeing her. Lena responds by crossing her arms over her chest, gripping her own biceps tighter for reasons she can’t quite determine just yet, and throwing a challenging quirk of her brow at the woman in front of her.
“Are you going to threaten me again?”
Her initial response is to scoff, yet when she does, she’s met with a sad and hurt pout in front of her.
“No,” she says, wondering why she would agree to such a thing. She reminds herself somewhat belatedly that she doesn’t have to adhere to anything she doesn’t want to. She’s not the prisoner here. “Explain.”
Kara straightens up slightly, her hands running up and down her thigh as she scrunches her face in thought. “Um. Well. All I really know is that I was sitting in front of my computer trying to finish the article about the Alien Refugee Act that recently passed. I was definitely procrastinating on it even though it meant a lot to me, so you said that I wasn’t allowed to leave the apartment until I had finished it. You promised me that you’d come home as soon as I got done with the draft—which, you know, I don’t love it when you make deals like that but I have to admit is really effective…”
At this point, Kara has risen to her feet and is now pacing, her arms flailing around her as she explains herself. Lena’s mind is reeling as more words come out of Kara’s mouth, none of which make any sense to her at all. Least of all the implications that she and Kara were some type of—
“Anyway, I was just about to type up the last of my notes and complete this one paragraph I’d been struggling with when there was this random surge of electricity that hit me through the tips of my fingers, like the laptop shocked me or something…”
“You felt electricity?” she interrupts, sitting up slightly, but Kara just continues talking.
“Then…then I wake up here and find myself in this weird, uh, room. But then every time I try to talk to you, you keep putting me to sleep.”
Lena raises her hand causing this Kara to wince and jump, defensively putting her hands up as if to stop her despite the glass separating them. Lena has completed the move and Kara crumples to the ground with a slight thud before she can even react to what she’d just seen.
She stares at Kara’s unconscious body, unsure of herself.
With her magic, she levitates Kara’s body back on the bed and tugs the blanket so that she can put it over Kara’s frame, tucking her prisoner in bed. Lena has no earthly idea what compels her to do that. With a final scrutinizing gaze at the sleeping woman in front of her, she leaves and heads back to her quarters.
The satisfaction that Lena would have enjoyed watching the DEO and the Superfriends search for their caped superhero has completely vanished when she thinks about the fact that if the woman in her holding cell and any of her story is to be believed, then she herself, the Demon Queen, also does not know where Supergirl is.
If it wasn’t so absolutely uncouth to drink straight from her decanter, she would. Instead, she pours a generous amount of whiskey in her glass and gulps it all down in one go, wishing the burn could explain to her what she currently does not understand.
She calls for Jess who promptly walks up to her desk.
“The woman in that cell is not Supergirl. See to it that she’s returned where she belongs. Then get me Supergirl.”
The words hang between them, the truth of the last couple of days laid bare. She does not look at Jess when she says them.
Despite feeling Jess’s eyes on her, she can sense how Jess straightens herself up before making her way back to the door. Then, Lena glances over her shoulder when she hears Jess speak to her.
“I’ll update you as necessary, Your Majesty.”
“Can you please stop putting me to sleep? I have a bruise where I keep dropping,” Kara says by way of greeting and pointing at her forearm where, in fact, she has a couple of mottled spots that count as bruises.
“No. You don’t have any bargaining power here.”
“Look,” Kara says, putting her hands on her hips—a move that most vividly resembles Supergirl—and directing all of her irritation towards Lena. “You’re clearly upset about something, but I can assure you that whatever it is that you think I did, well, I definitely did not do.”
Her face forms into a sneer when she steps forward until she’s mere inches from the glass. “How can you assure such a thing when you’re not aware of the crime you committed nor hold any power from inside a prison cell?”
Kara bites her bottom lip in thought and Lena pretends she does not see, looking away and making a move to return to her seat.
“Oh my god, Lena, did I—did I commit a crime ?!”
She rolls her eyes, an incredulous laugh escaping before she schools her features. Her name spoken so easily out of this woman’s mouth ought to anger her, ought to be a cause for concern that someone just knows her name. The name that nobody has spoken to her in lifetimes, it feels like.
Yet. Here she is allowing it all the same.
“No. I do not know why you are here. But I have people working to return you to wherever it is that you come from.”
“National City.”
“I beg your pardon?”
“I’m…I live in National City.”
Lena’s face remains passive yet her mind is doing its best connecting the dots and filling in the missing details of the puzzle that is this woman in front of her. Supergirl’s doppelganger lives in their backyard.
“Duly noted.”
Kara seems to accept that, though she maintains a wary eye towards her. Then, she takes a step forward to the glass. “Can you tell me who Supergirl is?”
Lena arches a brow, her curiosity piqued.
“It’s just—you kept calling me that. Before, I mean.”
How can Lena even begin to explain the complicated nature of her relationship with Supergirl, the nemesis who had sworn her off and called her a villain; the catalyst for Lena to become who she is now, leaning into the dark forces that Supergirl had callously deemed inherent within her.
“She is…she is a villain.”
Kara stares at her, curiosity written all over her face before she nods. Then, her eyes turn sorrowful. So much so that Lena has to look away, not wanting to see the pity in a pair of eyes that once upon a time looked at her with something akin to love. “Oh.”
“She ruined my life.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. And for what she did.”
Lena narrows her eyes. “Just like that? You don’t even know what I’ve done in retaliation.”
“That’s true,” Kara starts, walking up closer to the glass until they’re face to face once again. “But nobody looks that angry without having been hurt.”
“How would you know?”
“You’re not the first person to look at me like that, believe it or not.”
She doesn’t wave Kara asleep as she’s done all the other times. This time, she turns on her heels and walks away, feeling eyes stare at her until she disappears from view.
She’s monitoring the inept DEO fruitlessly chasing leads about their missing superhero. It offers her mind some place to wander as she tries her best to erase the vision of Kara staring at Lena with such pitying eyes; the gaze of a woman who knows nothing of Lena’s past and her future—who sits quietly in her cell staring into nothing as she awaits her fate.
When she returns to her usual spot at the holding cell later that day, it is to Kara already awake and is sitting in bed, the blanket carelessly covering her legs as her back leans against the headboard. She watches carefully as Kara seems to do her level best in not meeting her eye. Lena decides to wait her out and sits in her usual chair and lets the silence do the work for her. Yet it seems Kara doesn’t seem fazed with the silence or the scrutiny.
Lena’s not sure how much time has passed between them, but Kara only stares directly in front of her and doesn’t give Lena the time of day. Perhaps for the best, Lena notes, but she wonders what has happened since the previous day.
“Nothing to say to me?” she asks aloud, her piercing eyes focused on Kara’s every movement.
Long moments pass between them until Kara finally looks at her, her eyes filled with sadness and fear, underlined with ferocity. She might not be Supergirl, but Lena can tell she’s a fighter.
“I miss my Lena. You’re not my Lena.”
Those words take her by surprise just as they strike her heart down, reacting with a small inhale that she knows is too far from Kara to hear or see. For the first time in a very long time, Lena is devoured by disappointment that she knows she will not be able to shake off or get over for years to come.
“No, I’m not.”
“We have discovered Supergirl’s whereabouts, Your Majesty.”
“Are you certain?”
“Yes. She reacted to the Kryptonite as expected. We have taken her and put her in a holding cell for now.”
“And what of the other one?”
“She has been returned.”
“And her memories?”
“Wiped as instructed.”
“Good. That’ll be all.”
“Of course, Your Majesty.”
From a projector in Lena’s office, she watches as Kara walks into an apartment with two bags of take-out, setting them on the kitchen counter.
“Lena? Baby? I’m home.”
Her eyes narrow as a brunette woman saunters out of the master bedroom with a bright smile on her face, wearing an oversized sweater and jeans, and beelines for Kara. She wraps her arms around Kara’s neck and greets her with a kiss.
It is Lena, in another life. It is Kara’s Lena—the one that the Demon Queen does not recognize, can barely fathom to exist. A Lena who is happy and loved.
“Welcome home, darling. Did you get the usual?”
“And the garlic focaccia bites you’ve been craving. Just like you asked.”
“Did I ever tell you you’re my favorite?”
Kara smiles down at her wife, her arms protectively wrapped around her middle. “You’re free to tell me every day of your life.”
They share another slow kiss, basking in the presence of the other. They eventually untangle and prepare for dinner.
The Demon Queen waves her hand and the projector shuts instantly. She closes her eyes for a moment, the image of a happy union between Kara and Lena seared into her memories. When she opens them again, she wipes the solitary tear that has escaped from the corner of her left eye.
She takes a deep breath and walks towards the holding cells.
She stands in front of familiar glass, not too different from the one she’d grown accustomed to standing in front of in the last week. The woman inside is slouched on the side of the bed.
“Supergirl.”
The woman’s eyes snap up towards her, cutting blue eyes watching her every move. Calculating. It’s familiar, though Lena aches at the sight of it. Still, she does not show weakness, instead languidly makes her way past the glass that disappears as she walks. Supergirl attempts to get up, but invisible chains keep her down until Lena gracefully leans down, runs a finger down Supergirl’s jaw.
“Demon Queen. You won’t get away with this.”
There is no sign of her old name—their old life—in the way Supergirl looks at her, and Lena sighs in relief at that. This—the anger and the pain and the hatred, she can work with. It is fuel for her.
“You have no powers here, Supergirl.”
She departs soon after, lessens the hold she has on Supergirl’s powers enough to tempt the now captive hero to use her heat vision against her retreating form. Supergirl takes the bait, cries out in anger and concentrates her heat vision even as it gets absorbed into the glass wall.
This, she knows. This, at least, she can handle.
This, she will settle for.

Director’s cut! I’m obviously obsessed with Grown Ass Women and I’ve always wondered: the first pov story glosses over a lot of little details quickly but of course it makes sense, esp when it’s explained in the second part, Alex’s pov. Was it always intended to be written from both povs, with some details only explained more fully from the other pov?
For a specific scene, how about when all the super friends go to the spin class for the first time?
Omg a deep cut! This is about my fic Spin Doctor, which is a Sanvers AU set in a spin studio that I wrote in the year of our lord 2017, if you can believe it! I wrote this because at the time I was working the front desk at a spin studio one day a week in exchange for free classes, and it was such a ripe space for an AU.
This was only a year or so after I'd written Revelations, and a similar thing happened for both. I started writing a single-POV fic (in the case of Spin Doctor, it was from Maggie's POV, whereas Revelations was Alex's) and then people kept asking for the other POV as a companion fic. To both of those, I said yes! (now I say no, FYI, don't get excited).
But I was newer to writing then, and it really made me a better writer, because I had to consider some choices I'd made and find ways to work around them because the first POV was already published. It feels kind of like when you're working with a canon: what would make her do xx? how can i get her to a place where she xx? because she HAS TO.
I remember in particular with this fic (my memory is hazy, sorry if the details are scrambled), there was something where Maggie missed like two weeks of spin class because she was injured at work. From her POV, it was just like oh yay I finally get to see Alex again! but then when I was writing Alex's POV, I had to reckon with (a) why did Alex think Maggie wasn't there, and (b) How did that absence impact Alex? Short answer: she cried so much, the poor thing!! She was not at all normal about it!
So I think that's probably why the second POV feels more detailed--because I was working through all of these gaps. Also, in Maggie's POV I had sown all of these little seeds of plot and emotion, and then in Alex's I had the opportunity to cultivate and harvest them, while also reverse-engineering some seeds that only make sense in retrospect for Maggie's POV. An example of that is Maggie notices that Alex wears the same outfit every spin class, so then in Alex's POV she's like meticulously documenting every tank top Maggie wears. Parallel processes, different outcomes.
When the Superfriends come to spin: brb let me reread it. God it's been so long!
Alex sets up Maggie's bike for her. Awww, what a gay baby in love! I like that this is the first time Maggie's like "........waaaaaaait. does she?????? like me???????" Romance is stored in a well-adjusted spin bike, as the classical saying goes.
Alex tells Kara, "Don't break my bike," which Maggie thinks is cute but weird, but I LOVE because, you know. I know Alex means it.
And then in Alex's POV, Kara activates her heat vision enough to make her eyes glow at Alex in fake-anger, and I just like playing with that.
Here's a fun one. In Maggie's POV, the line is: "Danvers walks away, over to her own bike."
In Alex's it's: "But Lucy’s already looking Sawyer up and down with a nearly maniacal glint in her eye, and Alex has stared down White Martians and alien invaders and assault rifles but she turns on her heel and she positively flees back up to the platform."
Maggie is like, Alex walked away, end of thought. And Alex is like, if I don't run away like a coward right now, I'm going to lick this woman up and down her body for the rest of my life and that might be odd due to the fact that I'm a stranger to her and until three days ago I thought I was straight.
It's the same vibe as when Maggie is like I put my hair in a ponytail because that's how you exercise and Alex nearly orgasms every time. Swap for how Alex gets on and off her bike; she's like, I got on my bike, and Maggie is like, she leaps onto the bike with the lithe grace of a predator. She is beauty, she is grace, i want her to punch me in the face. nothing has ever been as erotic as watching this woman straddle a stationary bicycle. i am proposing immediately.
In general, I loved writing this fic. I think I learned a ton as writer from it, and it was such a delight. My first sexy scene (push-ups!!!). My second Sanvers dual POV! Lots of cast management! Such an AU! It was a blast, and I'm so glad there are folks who still like it!

hi dee !!! fancy seeing you round these parts
17: What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?
i did answer this in birdies ask but i will say another thing i ended up learning alot about was the NYU undergraduate and graduate school of Business for the kate/yelena fic im currently working on that you know about (for anyone curious, i do have a sneak peak to that fic i posted a while back here)
18: What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?
oh god this is so hard. the first one that comes to mind is this line from the game night fic, which for me is like the perfect amount of soft and punchy:
Tumblr media
but i also have to spread some love to the "fruit cutting monologue" that i wrote for the final scene in that fic as well:
Tumblr media
but of course i cannot mention anything from game night fic without shouting out my lovely friend bench @thebluewritingbench who is truly the most incredible author and the perfect writing partner who brings out the best of my skills and puts worms in my brain, without whom i could have never reached into the itchiest parts of my skull to write lines like this
19: Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.
ohhhh i dont know which one to pick !!! I feel like you would like another peak at the kate/yelena au but what I’m ACTUALLY gonna do is tease my next fic after I finish rival chefs hehe
It’s a supercorp high fantasy au, Lena is a princess and Kara and the superfriends are a group of rebel fighters trying to stop Lex from conquering the world !! very high stakes very drama very enemies to lovers

i was gonna make an aro week post for the superfriends but i have realized that. i don't. i hadn't really thought to headcanon any supergirl characters as arospec, except brainy and lyra. they would be all alone on the post :( !!! 'm tryna wrack my brain thinking of ways certain characters could fall under the spectrum...
i think with the shitty way karolsen was handled, kara could be frayromantic? doesn't really work with the polycule au, but i like the idea. or maybe she's quoiromantic, again bc of how karolsen was handled but also bc of how supercorp went and her way of describing her female friends a lil too affectionately?
i dunnooooo....... y'all got any arospec supergirl headcanons?

okay actually now that I’m thinking about it I want to make a list of all those aus. I don’t exactly have intentions to really do anything with these (and a lot don’t even have any kind of plot) they’re just scenarios I think about when I’m at work or whatever.
the pilot/assistant one. basically lena as something like amelia earhart but also an engineer who designed her own plane. she’s doing some kind of around the world or some other sort of groundbreaking long distance flight and kara is the journalist tagging along documenting everything. kara has also kinda become something like lena’s navigator and assistant mechanic. they probably originally met when kara was covering lena’s new efficient engine or wing or something. they end up in trouble somehow and kara reveals her powers to lena saving the plane and lena.
lena as the captain of a space battleship rebelling against her family’s space empire ending up on the run and seeking refuge/help on kara’s planet.
space pirate lena who starts out by stealing a ship and running away when her family starts getting more overtly evil. with her loyal assistant first officer partner jess at her side. (lena keeps trying to promote her; jess insists lena is the boss.) idk how she ends running into to kara here, but I’m pretty sure alex/kelly/sam are a thing in this verse, living on their ship with ruby and esme too.
space pirate kara with the superfriends as her crew, who do suspiciously little in the way of what would normally be considered ‘piracy.’ they encounter lena and she joins the crew. at some point kara is captured or phantom zoned or something. this idea is mainly built around a scene aesthetically like the end of serenity when mal and river are taking the sip up in a storm. in this case it would be lena and alex flying to go rescue kara, and it would mirror a scene of kara and alex taking the ship up earlier on. (and maybe a bit one of kara teaching lena about the specific quirks of their ship.)
some kind of setting where ftl is a thing but it’s slow/difficult, so the less developed colony worlds have this weird anachronistic mix of bits of futuristic scifi tech with like sailing ships and zeppelins. (there’s kind of a sliding scale of logically justified by what you could do with a lower industry base but modern/future knowledge vs simple rule of cool.) kara would probably be the captain of one of those sailing ships, and lena has a cool spaceship which is stranded there due to a breakdown. (or maybe some nonsense with her family.) initially lena hires kara to transport her somewhere and they end up going various adventures. lex eventually shows up with his very much working spaceship and when he’s about to shoot them kara looks at lena and says “you know all those things you heard about kryptonians? they’re true.” then her eyes start glowing and she takes off and does a captain marvel to them.
a random scifi scenario where sc have a ship and are on the run from something when they take refuge on/stumble this sorta pristine world that was terraformed and seeded with life but never settled by any people and it’s just sort of a peaceful little interlude in this place that’s untouched by all the chaos around them.
a mostly lena centric au that diverges from canon after s2 but would be set somewhat later. (I’ve been kinda thinking of this one since around the end of s2 and it does have an actual plot, but very little of it is actually written down.) post daxamite invasion, lena realizes that if they weren’t incompetent/didn’t have a push button weakness that earth wouldn’t have had a chance against them. so she decides to take a more stargate type approach of using and learning alien tech to build defences for earth. there’s vary degrees of soft/hard this could go, from something like an earth built equivalent to the alien ships we saw on the show down to something much more realistic like an orion with some exotic tech bolted on. (in the latter scenario, there would be a bit where they end up forced to launch the orion from somewhere near nc bc that’s the least bad option.) it would end up with lena actually going out in her ship and fighting invaders. the final battle would take place in earth orbit, and beats them, but her ship is destroyed too and there’s a dramatic reentry scene where here escape capsule comes down uncontrolled and out of communication. kara flies to where it splashes down and tears it open to find lena exhausted but more or less unhurt, then she helps her out and they fall backwards into the inflatable raft together, laughing & probably they kiss.
also in the previous one lena would throw herself into the work, kinda pulling away from kara a bit. (& from the day to day operation of lcorp; this is where sam would come in.) just kinda drifting apart a bit and pining over each other. they mostly see each other when lena announces some new spinoff tech from her research that is useful for regular people on earth too. it would also kinda work in the anti alien stuff a little too. some kind of bigot dude would like try to draw lena into a debate or something on his side and she’d come with her position of ~a few people already here aren’t the problem, it’s whatever is waiting for us out there in the dark, and we all need to work together to protect our home.

Having spent the weekend leveling crafters and gatherers in FFXIV, I'm now considering which classes the superfriends would main for their raid group.
I think Lena would be a natural alchemist. Chemistry is her jam.
Alex would be an armorer, ready to make all the gear for her sister the tank.
Kara would 100% be culinarian-- it's the only time in her life she's been a good cook.

For good writer meme, 4.
4. what are some themes you love writing about?
Tbh with you, I don't have a concrete answer about this, because it depends on the characters a lot of the time. I just love my blorbos. But like, the romance is part of it, most likely, but that can manifest on a myriad of ways, from Lena's insecurity about her own worthiness of Kara. To Kara's absolute obliviousness to flirting (both ways).
For supergirl, particularly, I do like the superfriends dynamic in general, so I love writing them just hanging out.
Like I've always said that for me characterization is kinda supreme in my writing, so I try to infuse these little snippets of just goofing with your friends.
If I'm writing AUs I love to infuse as most canon callbacks as I can. You know what? I love writing in easter eggs and references; to comics, to other media.
Thank you for asking 💜

What dnd characters do you think the superfriends would play as?
I have two thoughts for this! I think if I was writing them playing a game together, I would do:
Brainy as the DM
Cleric for Kara, wizard for Lena, rogue for Alex, also a cleric for Kelly but a different subclass, bard for Nia, fighter for J’onn (he isn’t sure what’s going on but he’s happy to be here)
BUT, if I was writing them as characters existing within the D&D universe in an AU?
Kara would be an aasimar Paladin, oath of redemption. Imagine her with glowing eyes and great big wings making her hope speeches UGH so good
Lena: half-elf artificer (Battlesmith specialization), her Luthor half is elven and looks down on her for having a human mother obviously
Alex: human ranger (probably an archer, Horizon Walker specialization for all her experience rounding up creatures from other planes)
Kelly: a genasi would be cool, probably a multiclass cleric/fighter, specifically the protector fighting style that can force disadvantage on enemies using their shield
Nia: tiefling sorcerer (her bloodline is the source of her familial powers)
Brainy: warforged wizard (his school of magic would be something cool like chronurgy or graviturgy)
J’onn: Goliath barbarian (path of the ancestral guardian)
………..I’m growing attached to this idea

Huntress and wolf
by MeinPace
Overgirl accidentally landed on the Earth where Metallo!Lena is, and became a so-called "General" like Reign. She and lena were physically attracted to each other and developed a KINKY relationship. But at the same time, this earth's original Supergirl and Superfriends are secretly concocting a plan to overthrow the dictator.
