I’m reading the Marineford Arc for the first time, since apparently there are some differences to the anime, and I totally don’t remember this badass Crocodile moment happening?!

Yes, I watched it ages ago, but still. It’s chapter 566 in the manga, and while I checked and it is also adapted into the anime (ep 475), I feel like they underplayed the impact of this moment. This happening was totally unpredictable and cool asf

Hey, so I was thinking again about how weird it was that when Ace was executed he wasn't wearing his signature boots when suddenly an idea occurred to me:

What if the reason they took away his boots and gave him those moccasins instead was because he had knives in his boots?

And I don't mean just tucked into the shaft of the boot, because that would be far too easy to remove—what if the knife was built into the boot itself?

What if he had OTF (out-the-front) knives (also known as sliding knives) built into the toes of his boots, and the reason they were taken away was because he had stabbed (or tried to stab) a guard (or maybe even the warden) with them...

Just like they took the knife he'd had hanging on his belt, they also took his stabby boots.

as someone who is a polyglot, a One Piece fan, and a transmasc person, i’ve got something very important to say.

in the anime, i’m currently on episode 434. a few episodes back, Bon Clay returned! i LOVE him. but they keep saying “Oh Come My Way” Kenpo— it’s actually OKAMA!

“Okama” (お釜) was historically used as a slur, but has been reclaimed by many Japanese transfemme people, trans women, drag queens, and gay men. it is something you should never call a stranger, as this can be very harmful. however, it’s a word that represents “traditionally feminine” traits of AMAB folks.

for the record, Bon Clay is transgender! he stated he “aligns with both” when he was singing in his cell (Impel Down Level 3).

don’t let the One Piece subtitles write out queer history. i freaking LOVE and respect all the Okamas in One Piece.

Summit War. Let's talk.

This saga made me feel a lot of things. It's mostly heartbreak and bitter hatred. I said I wouldn't be okay after Ennies Lobby. That arc pales in comparison.

I need you to understand that I genuinely cried for ten minutes after this. That kind of ugly cry where it completely flushes out your sinuses. Eiichiro Oda is truly the worst villain in One Piece.

On a less depressing note, Impel Down and Marineford fucking rocked. Buggy's hilariously pathetic ass is back, Bon was, once again, the absolute fucking goat, and also just. Y'know. There was the whole Endgame scale battle of Marineford. Summit War fucking rocked, and I will never emotionally recover.

Closing note? Uh? Just generally what the fuck? What the fuck? What the fuck to everything?
