so i just finished this fic, but holy god i am half in a reading slump now bc it just had everything i was looking for you know? anyway.
it's called 'hellbent' by 'LuckySeven' and it's in the naruto fandom. essentially, the events of the chuunin exams go just barely differently (in that orochimaru lets slip some info about the truth of the uchiha massacre). as a result, team seven goes missing nin and starts collecting other jinchuuriki. there is so much found family in this and giving konoha (and the rest of the hidden villages) the finger for their treatment of their citizens and the characters are given some actual growth (particularly sakura and some of the other female characters), which is 100% up my alley.
it's unfinished but still updating (from what i can tell). i have my fingers crossed that it keeps updating bc following a fic and then to have it stop updating me makes me worry for the authors' healthy/safety/etc and also leaves me in the weirdest mood bc i can't figure out how it should end.

I want to podfic a new fic but I'm having trouble picking one. I'm looking for an LU, BotW, or SS fic that is 4k-8k words long that does not include NSFW or MCD in it, but anything else is fine.
