Landvættir In Norse mythology, landvaettir are guardian spirits or deities of the land. They are tasked with protecting their home, and often the human inhabitants of their land. There are countless landvaettir across every region, and every locality will have their own. Some believe the Landvættir are spirits of the dead, while some believe they are more like deities because they can live in lands that are never populated. It is up to you what you believe. Landvaettir may inhabit a large area like a mountain, forest, river, or lake. They may also inhabit a small, specific area like the corner of a particular field, a rock formation, or even a well. There is no rhyme or reason; landvaettir exist across the land and will ensure the wellbeing of their territory no matter how big or small. Often, landvaettir embody the landscape. They are a personification of nature; the guardian of a mountain may appear as a giant, while the guardian of the forest may appear as an animal. Those who practice paganism or feel a veneration for Norse mythology have a great respect for their local landvaettir, and it is essential to show the land respect to maintain a good relationship with these spirits. Landvaettir are generally benevolent, but humans must treat the land with care and respect; destruction or disrespect may anger the landvaettir. Offerings can be made to ensure successful harvests, healthy livestock, favourable weather, and overall prosperity. In my local area, I feel an affinity for two landvaettir - pictures related! One is the guardian of a lake who comes with a masculine energy in the wintertime. I feel him most strongly during the dark periods, when the mist hangs in the air. I feel that he will steer us from dangerous waters and thin ice. I often see him as a silhouette in the distance on a misty morning. Although his intentions are kind, his energy can feel a little unsettling at times, and when he appears, I sometimes feel the urge to leave very quickly. But I think this is due to the fact that his role is often to protect us from dangerous waters and weather. Sometimes, when there is no danger he is just a peaceful presence. The second is the protector of the woodlands and fields in my village. This guardian comes with a feminine energy and seems most active in the springtime, summer, and early autumn. She feels like a warm presence with a passion for wildlife. I feel that she is there to protect the animals in the forest and ensure we stick to a safe trail. We have some hidden trails that may be dangerous, and I often feel a friendly pull towards a safer path. She often appears as a bird, doe, or simply a light breeze. I love her energy! I would love to hear about other landvaettir in your local area if anyone has any experiences!

World Art Day
World Art Day is celebrated every year on April 15. All around the world, people have their definitions for what they consider to be art. Different cultures have different tastes and styles. This holiday is used as an opportunity to promote the development of art. It encourages people to take the time to notice the beautiful things around them. With our busy schedules, people don’t always have the time to go to art galleries. A yearly reminder about beauty helps people relax and just enjoy experiencing the world. It shares knowledge, sparks curiosity, and leads to very interesting conversations.
History of World Art Day
World Art Day was declared on April 15 at the General Assembly of the International Association of Art. The first celebration was in 2012. The date was chosen to honor the birthday of the famous Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci represents tolerance, world peace, freedom of expression, and multiculturalism. The first world art day was supported by all the International Association of Art (I.A.A.) national committees. There were 150 artists from countries all over the world to ensure inclusion. There were conferences and special museum hours. Outdoor art exhibitions were held to display paintings, prints, sculptures, videos, and more.
Art comes in different forms and categories. Art can be architecture, music, painting, sculpting, dance, or literature. Cinema is also considered art. It is a way for people to express themselves through creativity. True art is simply an expression of emotion. It represents the artist’s view of the world and how they feel about it. Art communicates how similar we can be and also how different. People get their meanings of art when they experience it. Their perceptions are usually based on their personal experiences in life.
World Art Day is a great reminder to help people notice the beauty around them. It reminds people to express themselves fully. We are all full of emotions and should be allowed to show them without fear. The goal is to facilitate the sustainable development of art. With enough support, artists can continue to portray beauty.

Alright, I’m back to making crackpot ASOIAF theories and today’s theory is that Jon Snow will be the subject of the ADOS epilogue; he may not be the actual POV, but will be the main subject (if that makes sense). My reasoning for this comes for a very important (but very vague) hint about ADOS.
Daniel Abraham, he guy who did the comics, stated that there is a throwaway line in AGOT that would be important to the last scene in ADOS.
There are things about this story that only [GRRM] knows, and they aren't all obvious. There was one scene I had to rework because there's a particular line of dialog -- and you wouldn't know it to look at -- that's important in the last scene of "A Dream of Spring."
He reaffirmed this again in 2019:
I know some details about A Dream of Spring because of the conversations we had about A Game of Thrones. I mean, there were things he was setting up in early chapters in A Game of Thrones that are references to the end of the series.
So we wonder, what is this important line of dialogue that will be referenced in the last scenes of ADOS? Well, I have a candidate:
“We should start back,” Gared urged as the woods began to grow dark around them. “The wildlings are dead.”
“Do the dead frighten you?” Ser Waymar Royce asked with just the hint of a smile.
- Prologue, AGOT
This is the very first line in the series. One could say that it’s the series opener. It features a ranging up North headed by Waymar Royce - a hot headed 18 yr old who’s as inexperienced as they come. This prologue mainly introduces the Night’s Watch and the Others (the series main antagonists). There’s also mentions of the wildlings, who have been warring with the Night’s Watch for quite some time.
So why is this important? Well, fans have made the connection between Waymar Royce and Jon Snow. In fact, there’s a very convincing theory out there that Waymar (in this prologue) is meant to be a Jon Snow stand in. And part of the theory is that the Others who come upon Waymar and the ranging party were looking for the Last Hero….they were looking for Jon Snow, whether they knew it or not. Like, how Waymar is described in the prologue is how Jon is described in the next chapter (Bran I). Their personalities are even a little similar in that book. Both are young, rash, hot headed and inexperienced. The difference is Waymar’s story is ending and Jon’s is just beginning. Jon won’t stay that way because he develops as a character throughout.
So think about it. Wouldn’t it be quite fitting for the series closer to mirror the series opener and be about a ranging up north? But this time, it’s not going to feature a fight with the Others since they’ll already be defeated - with Jon Snow being one of the leading figures. There won’t be talk of fighting with the wildlings because the Freefolk have already been brought over - by Jon himself. It won’t feature death (of the ranging party or the emergence of the Others) but will be about life - the new ranging party will be going out to look for signs of spring (life) and not death.
Where the series opener (prologue) is about death and war, the series closer (epilogue) will be about life and peace. Where we have a hot headed 18 yr old Waymar Royce to lead this small party, we’ll have 18 yr old Jon who’s wiser, more capable, and more experienced; Jon is forever 18 since you know, he died (probably) and is essentially stuck in time and what not). Unlike Waymar, Jon will be an agent of reconciliation, spring after winter, life after death; all these things define his arc and leadership.
Plus, Jon’s arc will come full circle. He’ll be a ranger, steward, and builder all at once; ranging to find new land for people to occupy after the WfTD, a builder of new nations, and a steward to rule over the land he has found/conquered. He’ll be the lord commander of a new Watch (but this one looks for signs of spring/life not winter/death). He’ll be the king too (a new version of the king beyond the wall but not a 1:1 of what Mance was since there probably won’t be a wall anymore, so he’ll just be the king). He’ll still be watching and seeing, important motifs in his arc throughout the series.
And it’s not too far fetched to say that Jon may go on a ranging up north sometime in the future. In fact, there might be sufficient foreshadowing.
Far off to the north, a wolf began to howl. Another voice picked up the call, then another. Ghost cocked his head and listened. “If he doesn’t come back,” Jon Snow promised, “Ghost and I will go find him.” He put his hand on the direwolf’s head.
“I believe you,” Tyrion said, but what he thought was, And who will go find you? He shivered.
- Tyrion III, AGOT
So yeah….
The TL;DR of this is that the series epilogue will feature a ranging to go find signs of spring (life) headed by Jon Snow, the Last Hero and the true king; not a stand in like the prologue, but the real deal. And maybe he’ll go further and further up north until he reaches the Land of Always Winter/the Heart of Winter where he will take guardianship/rulership of it. Honestly, I guess I’m just kind of obsessed with the idea of the boy named Snow going north to become the true King of Winter when all is said and done.

Me as a kid: why do adults decorate everything seasonally. Putting up a Christmas tree is so much work. Why would I change my wardrobe colors based on season. Why does grandma have a welcome mat for every season
Me as an adult, lost in the endless churn of capitalism and forcefully divorced from the natural changes of the season, never having time to notice the caterpillars in spring or the seed pods of fall: my mental health entirely depends on this fake pumpkin I set on the bookshelf

Cooking Companions: Chompettes Origins, Celina/Cabbage —Aesthetic
Tumblr media
Celina/Cabbage's Character & Personality
Cabbage is kind, cheerful and energetic the vast majority of the time. This includes when touching on dark subjects too. As the leader of the Chompettes, Cabbage loves making up games. Her favourite story is "the complete history of Halupki" as she can talk about it for hours. While Cabbage is generally very friendly, she's not above threatening to lock Potato up if he doesn't play along. She really doesn't like anyone trying to call the Protagonist out for their past or current actions. While Cabbage doesn't hold any grudge for what the Protagonist did to her, she makes it clear she'll never forget what happened. Nor should he forget their past. As Celina, she's expresses smart and determined leadership. She's also quite protective of her friends.

Hiiii, some info about the spirits
There's major spirits and minor spirits Major Spirits are those who don't embody one specific thing and oversee a lot more of the bigger aspects in the mortal realm. They take more leadership roles to make sure what they control is going smoothly Minor Spirits are the ones that got small, specific roles. There can be multiple of one thing but they specifically do something.
