Starting next year (or rather, this month) I will start adding to my book and DVD collection.
I know we are at the age of ebooks and Netflix but I’ve come to realize that that isn’t a guarantee to watch what you want when you want it. Netflix in my country had Elementary for a long time but now, suddenly, it’s gone.
Next year I’m making the choice to spend money on the DVDs and books I really want to have at home. If the internet for some reason doesn’t work at least I can use my dvd player and watch my favorite shows and movies that way. I like watching Elementary, it’s my comfort show, but now I can’t do that because Netflix decided to remove it from their library. And I guess they can do that with all their content.
It’s the same with books. I like the convenience of my e-reader but I also want to have the books on hand so I can have them in my hand when my e-reader breaks down or there is a problem with the electricity or something else. Or I just want to read a book that is not on a screen...
I don’t know, I just think that having the actual, physical items will be better. But maybe that’s just me getting a bit older and not really liking the explosion of different streaming services?

Bisan is calling for another global strike!
I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.
What a global strike would look like is:
calling in sick to work
purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can
putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!
For those who will have to purchase necessary goods during this time, please observe the brands that the BDS movement is asking us to boycott!

Just because someone buys things doesn't mean they are showing off. Maybe they can afford to splurge and are just enjoying their life. Maybe you need to stop being so judgmental and start focusing on YOUR life and stop worrying about what someone else has that you don't. We are all at different stages of our lives. If you can't be happy and supportive of your friends and family in their happiness then you need to grow up and work on yourself.

does anyone else hate that work takes up like 90% of your life and you literally are always working and have to form plans and important things and even seeing friends or eating meals around work. it's always just work. im spending my life just being At Work. i don't have time for hobbies or for seeing friends bc it’s always Work. like two days off a week isn't even enough because my days off aren't consecutive so i just spend those days exhausted or doing errands or house chores. there is not enough Time. all the time goes to Work. WHY IS LIFE THIS WAY. humans were not meant for this
