Kay Francis and William Powell in Jewel Robbery (William Dieterle, 1932)
Cast: William Powell, Kay Francis, Helen Vinson, Hardie Albright, Alan Mowbray, André Luguet, Henry Kolker, Spencer Charters, Lee Kohlmar, Clarence Wilson. Screenplay: Erwin Gelsey, based on a play by Ladislas Fodor and a translation by Bertram Bloch. Cinematography: Robert Kurrle. Art direction: Robert M. Haas. Film editing: Ralph Dawson. Music: Bernhard Kaun.
Jewel Robbery is a perfect storm of what would be taboos under the Production Code: Not only does it condone adultery and let crime go unpunished, but it also allows William Powell's jewel thief -- pardon me, robber -- to slip a cigarette laced with an uncommonly potent strain of cannabis to the jewelry store guard, thereby violating the forthcoming ban on drug references in movies. (We are assured that, after a case of the giggles, the guard will fall sound asleep to wake refreshed with no hangover but the munchies.) The adulteress is Baroness Teri (Kay Francis), a golddigger who has married the aging Baron von Horhenfels (Henry Kolker) for his money, while carrying on a liaison with the much younger cabinet member Paul (Hardie Albright). Unfortunately, as Teri tells her confidante Marianne (Helen Vinson), Paul is a bit of a bore. She makes the best of it, however, swanning around in gowns designed by Orry-Kelly that defy the law of gravity and raking in the jewels her husband provides. Which leads her to the jewelry store that is about to be robbed and to the robber himself, with whom she swiftly falls in love. The rest is a story of crime and absence of punishment that ends well for Teri and her thief -- uh, robber. Francis and Powell were never better, and there's a good deal of charm and wit to the film. It could have been directed with a lighter touch: William Dieterle is better known for the somewhat stuffy biopics The Story of Louis Pasteur (1935), The Life of Emile Zola (1937), and Dr. Ehrlich's Magic Bullet (1940), and he doesn't have the Viennese insouciance that the script needs. But he lets his actors provide that, with good results.

Born To Kill COMPLETE SERIES 2005-2016
“Going back to the age-old Nature vs Nurture debate, a good way to think about it is that genetics provide an individual with a spectrum and the individual’s environment, developmental and otherwise, determines where you lie on it. A predisposition may lie dormant for eternity, but feed it a stressful environment and increased risk factors such as malnourishment and trauma, and it will manifest. Clinical facts must be tempered with ethical concerns when applying science to society.” Source

idk if this prompt was already submitted but Spencer being sexually harassed by an unsub.
CW - Sexual Harassment, Rape mention
Morgan harshly pulled Lawson Albright through the police station in handcuffs and to an interrogation room. They were pretty sure they had their guy but a confession never hurt. Lawson had raped and murdered five young men over the course of 3 months.
“Wow, would you look at that,” Lawson whistled as they walked through the station, where Spencer was taking down the geo-profile.
Morgan turned and glared at him, “what did you say?”
Lawson smirked, “that I wouldn’t mind getting that in my bed,” he said, nodding towards Reid.
Morgan tightened his grip on Lawson, “I suggest you shut your mouth,” he hissed in his ear before yanking him into the interrogation room.
~
“We are not doing that!” Morgan practically shouted at Hotch, slamming his fist down on the table causing Spencer to flinch.
“He won’t be in the room alone for long, and we’ll be right outside,” Hotch argued back, “we can use his attraction to Reid.”
Morgan’s eyes flashed with anger, “do you hear yourself? ‘Use his attraction to Reid.’ he raped and murdered five men that look just like Reid. I am not letting you send him in there!”
“Morgan,” Spencer interjected softly, “I’m an adult. I can make my own decisions.”
Morgan turned to Spencer, “you want to go in there? With what he did to other men that looked just like you,” he growled, a scowl on his face.
Spencer gulped. When they had first got the case, Spencer didn’t admit to anyone that it made him nervous how similar the victims looked to him and he wouldn’t admit now that he was scared to go in. “It’s not like I’ll enjoy going in, but if we can use it, I will.”
Morgan rolled his eyes, “fine!” he snapped and stormed off.
~
Spencer took a deep breath and opened the interrogation room door, trying not to let his hand shake as he turned the door knob. As soon as he stepped in the room Lawson seemed to perk up.
“You know, I thought getting arrested would be the worst day of my life but you may make it worth it.” His eyes wandered over Spencer’s body lustfully.
“I’m D-dr. Spencer Reid with the be-behavioral analysis unit of the FBI,” Spencer cursed himself as he stuttered over his words.
“Doctor, huh?” Lawson smirked, “you’re a shy one, aren’t you? I like them shy.”
Spencer was told to get close to him when he placed the files in front of him, but decided not to do that yet and simply stood in place.
“So,” Lawson glanced around curiously, “is it just going to be us? I must admit I’m surprised they sent you in here all alone.”
“Agent Rossi will be joining us soon,” Spencer informed him, finally moving forward, walking towards Lawson and placing the files on the table. His hands shook as he did so, Lawson wasn’t handcuffed and it made him uncomfortable.
“You’re nervous, aren’t you?” Lawson knowingly asked, “you know I bet I could help you relax.” Spencer tensed, frozen as Lawson trailed his hand up Spencer’s thigh and rested it on his hip. “If you want me too,” Lawson whispered, pulling at Spencer’s waistband. Spencer’s breathing sped up and he felt like he was going to cry.
“N-no,” he stammered, jerking away. Fear overtook him as Lawon chuckled and stood up, “let me tell you a little secret,” Lawson taunted, “they all said no.” Spencer backed into the corner of the room, Lawson approaching him with a  haunting smile on his face.
The door slammed open, and Spencer felt instant relief as he saw Rossi in the doorway.
“That’s enough! Sit back down” he barked at Lawson.
“Bambi are you okay?” Rossi asked, gently taking Reid by the shoulders and steering him out of the room. Spencer shakily nodded.
As they walked out of the room and turned to close the door behind, Lawson smiled, “Bambi? That’s cute,” he teased, with a wink. Spencer avoided looking at him, as Rossi glared at him and slammed the door.

Price: [price_with_discount] (as of [price_update_date] - Details) [ad_1] 36 Disturbing True Crime Stories of Murder and Deception Readers Love This Series - Over 7,000 Five-Star Ratings on Amazon & Goodreads Three Book Collection: Volumes 7, 8, and 9 of the True Crime Case Histories Series (2022) *** This series can be read in any order ***If you’re a fan of true crime, you’re undoubtedly familiar with the big-name cases: Ted Bundy, BTK, David Berkowitz, Christopher Watts, Diane Downs, Casey Anthony, Jeffrey Dahmer, Jodi Arias, Ed Gein, etc. The list of well-known, notorious cases throughout history is seemingly endless. Books, websites, podcasts, streaming television series, and magazines are filled with their abhorrent tales of mayhem. They’re some of the most foul killers the world has ever known. In my books, I do my best to find stories you may not have heard of. To do this, I count on my readers to send me stories that may have gone forgotten and aren't found all over the internet. Inside, you'll find 36 True Crime stories from the 100 years. Many of which you may never have heard of. You'll read the story of five-year-old Stephanie Hebert, who walked only three houses down her quiet suburban sidewalk and disappeared forever. Her case went cold for forty years before other children from her neighborhood came forward in their adulthood with information leading to the killer. There’s the story of the sadistic mother who viewed her children only as the spawn of their demon father, torturing them for their entire short lives. You’ll also read of the deranged husband and wife team who started their own cult and made it their life’s mission to rid the world of witches. Another story tells the disheartening tale of a toddler’s skeleton found in a suitcase on the side of the road. Motorcyclists discovered her mother’s skeleton more than 600 miles away. Five years had passed, with no one even realizing they were missing. There’s also the heartbreaking story of a single mom, drowning in debt, who did the unthinkable for insurance money. Many of the stories in this book feature women killers, three of whom took the time to meticulously dismember their victims—a task that can take great strength. Another woman manipulated her two teenage boys into killing for her. Plus many more disturbing stories. The stories in this volume are shocking and exhibit human behavior at its absolute worst. Pure evil. However, these things really happen in the world. We may never understand what goes on in a killer’s mind, but at least we can be better informed. Included in this volume: Stephen McDaniel, Lauren Giddings, Leonard Tyburksi, Dorothy Tyburksi, Cheryl Knuckle, Greg Rowe, Ellen Boehm, Bevan Spencer von Einem, Alan Barnes, Neil Muir, Peter Stogneff, Richard Kelvin, Omaima Nelson, Betty Freiberg, Kimberly Hricko, Steven Hricko, Hilma Marie Witte, Sky McDonough, Leanna Walker, Carol Carlson, Daniel Carlson, Gerard John Schaefer, Evans Ganthier, Rebecca Koster, Gary Vintner, Mikhail Drachev, Chris Andrews, Dennis Tsoukanov, Sean Southland, Konstantin Simberg, Jason Massey, Brian King, Christina Benjamin, Sheila Keen, Debbie Warren, Michael Warren, Marlene Ahrens, Charles Albright, Travis Lewis, Martha McKay, Grant Amato, Cody Amato, Chad Amato, Margaret Amato, Robert Willy Pickton, Marty Dill, Heather Teague, Joe Ball, Jared Chance, Ashley Young, Theresa Knorr, Robert Knorr, William Knorr, Jason Vendrick Franklin, Stephanie Hebert, John Joubert, Danny Jo Eberle, Christopher Walden, Ricky Stetson, Anna Maria Cardona, Lazaro Figueroa, Charles Schmid, Jeremy Gipson, Jessica Thornsberry, Justina Morley, Domenic Coia, Nicholas Coia, Eddie Batzig, Jason Sweeney, Angela Stoltd, Jimmy Sheaffer, Vincent Tabak, Joanna Yeates, Edmund Arne Matthews, Lisa Ann Mather, Daniel Holdom, Karlie Pearce-Stevenson, Khandalyce Pearce-Stevenson, James Carson, Michael Bear, Suzan Bear, Susan Barnes Carson From the Publisher

Christmas in July: romantic recommendations
My Kind of Christmas by Janet Dailey
Returning to Branding Iron, Texas, is Travis Morgan’s last resort, and the abandoned ranch he inherited isn’t much more welcoming than the prison cell where he spent the last three years doing time for a tragic accident. Completely without funds or family, Travis finds celebrating Christmas is the last thing on his mind, but there’s no escaping the holiday spirit in this close-knit little town—not with Branding Iron’s longtime Santa retiring, and sweetly stubborn Mayor Maggie Delaney determined to find a replacement. When her no-nonsense façade slips to reveal the sensual, vulnerable woman beneath it, Travis realizes Maggie just might be as lonely as he is—and that this holiday season, love could be the gift that heals them both.
The Christmas Wedding Guest by Susan Mallery
The Somerville sisters believe in love, but they’ve lost faith it will happen for them. Reggie hasn’t been home since the end of the world’s shortest engagement. When her parents decide to renew their vows, she buffs up her twinkle to help with the Christmas wedding. Unexpectedly, Toby, her first love, is back too, and the spark between them shines as brightly as ever. In the spirit of the season, will they let go of past hurts and greet the New Year together? Done waiting for the one, Dena is pregnant and on her own—on purpose. But then a gorgeous, sad-eyed songwriter checks in to a room at her inn. Micah, unable to write since he lost his wife, finds inspiration in Dena’s determination to be a mom. One snowflake-speckled kiss and he’s a goner. But Dena is afraid to believe that a rock star could fall for a cookie-cutter small-town girl like her. As the Christmas wedding draws closer, these two sisters just might unwrap the most treasured gift of all—love.
Chasing Christmas Eve by Jill Shalvis
Meet cute... Run for the hills—temporarily. That's Colbie Albright's plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie's so over it that she's under it. She's also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she's pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won't be a stranger for long. Make merry... Spence's commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn't have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot chemistry—he's got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself... just because she's gorgeous and a great listener just because she gets Spence immediately doesn't mean he won't be able to let Colbie go. Does it? and hope for a miracle. Now the clock's ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime.
Kiss Me at Christmas by Valerie Bowman

𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦
Queen Saskia Mercer and her wildling King Eddie have two daughters: Clarisse, age fourteen, and Maia, age ten. She has been ruling the Northern Kingdom peacefully for the past seventeen years since the renewal of the Pilgrim dynasty. They haven’t met any trouble since allowing her cousin through Winterfort on his way to exile at Castle Black shortly following the Queen in the South’s coronation. However, five years into her reign someone let slip the blood ties that her cousin and his children have to the throne. Unrest began in the North’s capital city and she sent a raven to the Wall to be delivered in turn even farther north. In Hardhome, a young Jules felt misplaced in the only home he’d ever known, while his older twin Ziggy thrived on the attention of being the stronger, more competent brother and son of the King Beyond the Wall.
𝐁𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐧𝐞
Prospects have been appearing throughout the Six Kingdoms, and Lord Ridley has only just begun to review them for his three daughters, as Lord Cody is being groomed to take his father’s place and all that will remain of the Albright’s legacy resides in his girls. He knows of three paramount prospects: Lord Bailey of Storm’s End, terrible whoring child, but trueborn and Jasper Welker’s heir, Lord Spencer of Starcairn, the Hand of the Queen’s son and the fruit of an insufferable Jensen, and as a raven flies through his window with a scroll attached at the foot — the long lost Prince Ziggy of the Northern Kingdom and heir to the Iron Throne, although the familiar name beckons him to believe that he should’ve been named after the swamp in the Riverlands he was born in rather than a city he doubts the old stubborn wildling ever let him inhabit. Nonetheless, he’s highborn not just to a keep in some far off place, but to a crown.
𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬
Lucky has served as Hand of the Queen loyally for seventeen years. With his father’s slave girl he fathered a son, much to his deceased family’s pride, he imagines. Spencer is just a boy of twelve and kind like his mother, but all the same must meet the same fate as all highborn children: betrothal. He knows that Queen Saskia will not wed any of her daughters to anyone outside the Northern Kingdom and that the Bytheseas are a shot in the dark, despite their once shared alliance. However, the time of Night Kings and white walkers has passed, now is the time to relish in their victory and marry and multiply. While most of such high status would search endlessly for a suitable bride for their son, Lucky has his sights set on Lady Adrienna Mormont of Bear Island, whose rumored abilities have given him extreme interest in what could become of his own family’s legacy.
𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬
Lord Bailey Welker has heard many a tale of his father and his Red Woman, who seems to have disappeared after he failed to take Winterfort while there were still Seven Kingdoms. Every last one of them bores him, as he only remembers his mother and all the slights she endured for his sake. Yet all of this doesn’t keep him from the nature of whoring and enjoying the pleasures only a lord can. He has a good woman to lay with at night, of whom no one can ever find a cruel word to say about, and just now he’s hearing songs of long lost princes like he’s sure his father did before him. With adjusted laws and a claim to the throne, he’s more than willing to see what it takes to charm a wandering prince into a crown.
𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐞, 𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥
They say that whoever can wield the family’s ancestral sword Dawn, forged from the heart of a falling star, shall be named the Sword of the Morning. Yet no one has wielded Dawn since Ser Arthur Dayne, who was known to have been killed during Andrei’s Rebellion forty years past. He left in his wake his baby sister Ashara, who was also known to have been dead, throwing herself from the Tower of Joy, but somewhere in the Riverlands, a boy who looks strangely unlike those of House Reed of Raventree Hall where he grew up is rumored to have come into this world from the Lady of Starfall’s womb.
