Families of he victims have described the show as cruel and say it retraumatized them.

True Crime people. Please remember that romantisizing serial killers is trauma porn and minimizing the very real trauma of love ones and survivors.

Dahmer is a scumbag that deserves his name forgotten to history.

Okay. So lots of controversy on Netflix’s Dahmer and I’m here to explain why it isn’t what you probably think it is. This show is no doubt a grab the attention of the massive true crime viewership, and is bringing attention to a monstrous man who did awful things but hear me out... It is a horror through and through it is not pretty it is not romanticized and if you feel that way you may be attracted to Evan Peters. Who gives an absolutely bone chilling performance as Dahmer he makes you feel more uncomfortable and anxious with each scene as well as a so much hatred building with each victim he takes. Everything in this show is oriented against the glorification of Dahmer. It makes those who adore him look unbelievably ignorant, I doubt someone who was a Dahmer fangirl would still be after watching this, if they are then that is very very concerning. I have yet to see such a gruesome unforgivingly graphic depiction of a serial killer and after seeing this its impossible to unsee. But as horror narrative, writing, cinematography, and pacing goes it is incredible and worth a watch in that regard. I wouldn’t even put this anywhere near any other serial killer biography there was no skip of the bad parts it was the raw disgusting truth both visually and audiably. The way this show makes your heart break for the victim’s and their families it was insanely intense I almost cried a couple times. Over and over again the script reinforces the fact that the main focus of this case should have always been on the victims even through subtle means the overtone of the entire show is that way. This is really the tip of the iceberg of what I wanted to say there is more to it than this but I'm tired so peace. 

Petition to give Evan Peters happy roles and make him stay away from serial killer roles bc it's doing shit to his mental health. He's amazing as quicksilver come on

What you have to do is listen to the Heather the Musical soundtrack and imagine that you are Veronica and your beloved murderer of choice is JD. Allow yourself to go on a fantastic journey of imagination. No doubt this will heal you from your sexual perversions. You will see that it is not very nice to have a murderer boyfriend after all! If it helps you can make all the other characters people you know in real life or whoever you want

Substantial progress has been made in the development of methods aimed at identifying and apprehending individuals who exhibit these behaviors. In spite of these advances, the origins of sexual serial killing behavior remain for the most part unknown. In this article we propose a biopsychosocial psychiatric model for un- derstanding the origins of sexual serial homicidal behavior from both neuropsychiatric and developmental perspectives, using the case of convicted serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer as the focal point. We propose that his homicidal behavior was intrinsically associated with autistic spectrum psy- chopathology, specifically Asperger’s disorder. The relationship of Asperger’s disorder to other psychopathology and to his homicidal behavior is explored. We discuss potential implications of the proposed model for the future study of the causes of sexual serial homicidal criminal."
