no anti villains in Poptropica ๐
But we must look up the definition of an anti-villain:
So there are actually a few anti-villains in Poptropica.
Cactus von Garlic: His goal is to protect humanity from vampires. Unfortunately, he doesn't realize that not all vampires are evil. Some are just trying to live their life, yo.
Octavian: His goal is to create a perfect world by rewriting the timeline. Unfortunately, he doesn't realize that messing with the timeline creates more chaos.
Lieutenant Rogers: Her goal is to protect the timeline from being tampered with (like what Octavian tried to do). Unfortunately, she doesn't realize that she doesn't have to kill innocent children to do that.
Anna Gram/Dr. Blandston: Her goal is to knock some sense into the citizens of Goofball Island, because the goofy people don't properly take care of themselves and also cause she's going out of business. Unfortunately, she doesn't realize that she shouldn't forcefully change people's personalities.
Red Baroness/The Baron: Um, this:

When I think of most popular main characters in Poptropica, they're usually either black or white. But there aren't a lot of other races as the main characters for each island, and if they are then they aren't as popular :(
Oh, you know what? You right. That's unfortunate.
Also, I don't know how relevant this is to your observation, but you made me come to an observation of my own:
For the majority of the black and white characters, you can look at them and accurately guess what race they are XD
Husbands <3
But for some characters, it's literally impossible to know their race unless the narrative makes it clear, or if it's stated somewhere else.
That's because the race of these characters doesn't really matter unless it's relevant to the locations the island takes place in.
When it comes to islands like Skullduggery, Red Dragon, Mythology, Arabian Nights, or Jade Scarab, the narrative/locations/outfits/names/etc make it clear.
Also, somebody once told me that they didn't know Mya was Asian until I started posting (way too much) about the graphic novels. Cause in the game it's impossible to tell that Mya is Asian and Jorge is Latino by looking at them, because Poptropicans all look the same pretty much. Also they don't say their last names in the game.
I mean, if you knew nothing about those characters except for this image, would you be able to tell they were different races? Probably not.
In the novels, they draw the Asian characters with slightly more oval eyes. And Mya's family name is "Wong."
Jorge's family name is "Flores". And his mother speaks Spanish at one point.
I guess the point is that it would be great to see other characters in Poptropica that aren't black or white become popular.
Also, again, there are a lot of popular characters who's races are ambiguous.
Let's get real though, Octavian is most likely Greek, or has Greek ancestry. The Protectors care about every little detail, so they wouldn't send a spy on an island who wasn't the same race as the natives. Even if it might be harder to tell on the outside.

What race do you think Mr. Silva, Mordred, Daphne Dreadnaught, Sam Brains, Van Buren, Octavian, Texas Turncoat is?
Reminds me of when I asked what race Jonas was, lol.
I can try:
Mr. Silva: Indian
Mordred: Mixed race
Daphne Dreadnaught: Black
Samuel Brains: Mixed race. Or it's just a tan, lol
Myron Van Buren: Mixed race (they actually revealed that in the game).
Octavian: idk, Hispanic or Greek
Tessa Turncoat: Mixed race
Texas Turncoat :)

The map is a portal to different worlds and time periods (the islands) and the blimp is how the player character gets in and out of these worlds (which the player can only do with a blimp).
Hmm....
But the maps seen in the game and the novels don't act as portals...
And there are many instances of different characters traveling from island to island without blimps or balloons...
And didn't the monkeys on Monkey Wrench Island build the iconic blimp XD

How do people get from earth to Poptropica and back?
Idk about any other characters, but people on earth can accidentally end up in the Poptropica dimension through rifts.
They can come in the form of storms, whirlpools, tornados, quicksand, YOU NAME IT!!!
They can also time crystals to travel to and back.

Is Poptropica a group of islands, or an entire planet of islands?
It's a โwhatever it needs to be for the specific plots to workโ.
The novels make some attempt to explain how Poptropica works
But there's one obvious difference: It's a group of islands in a specific area of the sea, instead of an entire planet of islands. Idk.
I've come up with many convoluted explanations to make it make sense XD

How did Poptropica go from not being afraid to have death and depression with stories like Ghost Story Island and the graphic novels, to literally dumbing down their islands to the point where they're no fun anymore ๐คฃ
New management.
The old Pop creators respected their audience, so they weren't afraid to go there and have sad/scary moments...
So that's the reason.

Another comparison between modern Disney and Poptropica: they both dumb things down.
Oh wow... oh, woe. You're right...
I think the core issue with modern Disney involves them trying to be as safe as possible.ย
That's why they don't have real villains in their movies anymore XD
Also no more intense, deaths villain or otherwise. They must be afraid that some modern parents will get mad at them for having their kids watch something scary :/
And with both the modern Disney executives and the modern Poptropica creators, they don't respect the intelligence of their audience.
Also I know this isn't as relevant, but am I the only one who hates the fact that Disney doesn't make talking animal movies as often as they used to anymore?! The most recent one was Zootopia. Bring back the talking animal movies Disney >:(

Did you ever get around to finishing Disney's Wish ๐
Oh yeah... I did. A month ago I think.
It was, in a word: lame. Lame and boring. Two words I guess...
And that would be one thing if it were just a regular modern day Disney film. I stopped caring about anything Disney has put out after 2019. (Besides Pixar stuff. And I like Encanto enough. That's it.)
But that film was supposed to be a celebration of the company's 100th ANNIVERSARY. And for a 100th anniversary celebration movie, it was so boring and lame. I had to force myself to finish it halfway through XD
