#Dogs are favored because they have been domesticated for thousands of years and selectively bred for extremely specific behaviors #they also have heightened hearing and smell that can allow them to detect certain medical emergencies early #and because a dog can be predictably trained to not attack someone #yes you can train a Komodo dragon to perform a lot of what is asked of dogs #but as a wild animal guess what #they are more likely to attack someone because they are more likely to perceive normal human behavior as a threat #and even domesticated non-mammals just generally aren’t built for a lot of what a service animal needs #what would a service pigeon do for you exactly #and even if it could do something to help you it’s still a pigeon and if you take it outside there is a very present chance #of a hawk plucking it off your shoulder as dinner #generally don’t need to worry about a golden retriever being carried away by eagles #not to mention dogs being able to be potty trained which. Many animals cannot reliably be #even rodents and other small mammals can’t generally since they don’t have voluntary bladder control

But this is just the beginning of a cute dick & tim & Jason batbro moment

Dick has his nose in a fresh mug of tea, inhaling the steam as deep as he can to help his clogged sinuses, when he hears the thunder of footsteps. He glances up just as Tim slams into the kitchen, eyes wide and chest heaving. Tim lights up at the sight of his brother, grinning mischievously, and shifts to scurry to a hiding spot mere seconds before Jason appears, breathing just as heavily but scowling. His cheeks are pink, his ears are bright red. Dick cackles internally, careful not to give away the game

"Where. Is. He?" he growls. "I'm gonna fucking murder him."

Dick tilts his head and takes a serene sip of his tea. "Who?"

"Playing stupid doesn't look good on you," Jason sneers, eyes roaming around the kitchen. He pauses on Dick, and they narrow. "...your sweatshirt is moving."

"It's called breathing?"

Jason stares at him for a beat, then quick as a snake, he lunges for Dick. Tim scrambles out of his hood with a chittering laugh, nails pricking the back of Dick's neck and making him wince. His two brothers are careful not to jostle him too much in the mad scramble of cat-and-mouse, so Dick continues to lean against the counter amidst the chaos, hiding his smile behind his mug.

"You little rat!" Jason grabs Tim over and over again, but he just slips through his grip like a noodle. "I swear to God, if you don't - fuck! Did you just fucking bite me?!"

Tim yawns right in his face, showing off his tiny sharp teeth. Dick gives in and laughs out loud, wheezing and snorting, and laughing even harder when Jason glares at him. Tim just flops over in Jason's hands, seemingly bored with their game now. And secure in the knowledge that Jason won't actually do anything to him.

"What did he do?" Dick asks.

"Like you don't know!"

"I don't, actually."

Because there are so many possibilities.

Jason fings Tim at him. He's gentle about it, but Tim screeches in surprise anyway. Dick catches his brother one handed and slings him over his shoulder.

"He fucking changed my modulator to - to - !" He lets out an inarticulate noise.

Tim shifts back, clinging to Dick and laughing loudly. Dick nearly ends up on the floor, staggering under the sudden weight. Tim doesn't care, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and legs around his stomach in a koala cling.

"Animalese," Tim wheezes around his laughs. Jason growls and lunges again, only to be twarted by Dick turning so he's between them.

"Yeah. That. Now hand the rat over so I can kill him."

"He's more of a weasel," Dick tells him.

"It literally doesn't matter."

Tim laughs again, and there's a hint of a chitter. Dick smiles fondly at the sound. There was a time there he was worried he'd never hear that particular laugh again. Fondness flickers over Jason's expression before he forces it into a scowl. Dick rolls his eyes, but he just feels warm all over.

Get Wild Mod by MathModder (In Progress)

What you need to know:

This mod introduces wild animals into your game map that spawn naturally in beetle spawners. It includes birds, small mammals, amphibians, more insects and reptiles in nature zones. Birds can fly and land in random locations and ground animals can be seen walking around the map.

You can choose ONE from various versions that best suit your world. Select the version that spawns specific animals suitable for your World's location.

Here's a list of potential versions that will be included in the mod:

These additional effects mentioned above will appear rarely and randomly in your world.

Can I place individual animals in specific locations, such as on rocks or tables?

In a future update after launch, this function will be added, for now they will only spawn where there is a beetle spawner. Ground animals on the ground and birds in the air.

Is the mod heavy to run?

Within the game I am optimizing it so that a small number of animals spawn at the same time and only spawn at a maximum distance of 500 meters from the player's camera.

How many files will there be?

Because there are many animals and specific animations for each one, the files will be heavy, will be a maximum of 2 to 3 files. In tests in my game with 150 other mods from other creators, I didn't see any loss of performance due to the optimization I'm doing within the game.

It is worth mentioning that some files will need to be placed in the Overrides folder and others in the Packages folder, they will all be specified at launch.

Is this mod compatible with other effect mods?

Yes, it will be compatible.

Bugs:

Depending on the location, there may be some bugs such as birds landing in the air or animals walking a little above the ground, this is due to calculation problems on certain game surfaces and physics, whether hills or mountains, but over time I will update and see What can I do to reduce this. In this case I depend on the engine the game has and whether it is possible to correct certain errors.

Release date:

Between January and February 2024 (It is in the testing phase)

"Golden Deer is boring though it's lackluster, the characters aren't as strong as the other paths there's less conflict-"

You fool. You absolute buffon. Golden Deer is perfectly designed. Not only does it feed into the whole "alliance" theme well by having the characters still work together despite their differences and feelings well before hitting those A supports, but it's ALSO the only route that actually puts the focus on YOU the player. Or, rather, Byleth themself

Black Eagle is about whether or not you can agree to Edelgard's ideals of acceptable sacrifice and perspective that there's only 1 way to do things. The branching happens when you decide whether or not you agree, but ultimately it just explores opposing or agreeing with Edelgard. Anything more than that is really just incidental to that main concept, whether it's Crimson Flower or Silver Snow, the entire time you're focused either on helping Edelgard achieve her goals or you're focused on showing her how wrong she is alongside the Black Eagles who think it's their duty to correct Edelgard's wrongs (and I have a whole separate thing in regards to how the cast acts in Crimson Flower verses Silver Snow). It works really well for characters designed around an empire, a domineering form of government where (usually) a singular ruler determines the course and focus

Blue Lions is focused entirely on working on past issues and learning to bring yourself into the present, but it's done almost entirely through the cast more than the player. The Blue Lions themselves all have their own traumas and deep-seated past issues that hinder or help progress. While both Blue Lions and Black Eagles have a lot in common when it comes to traumatized characters and ideology, the ideology is front and center, while in Boue Lions, their interpersonal conflicts are front and center. This shows especially in the final (non romance) scene, where Dimitri decides that his personal attachment to Edelgard and past memories still matter, and he reaches out a hand, despite her immediately trying to kill him. It's fitting for a route designed around a kingdom, which is usually built entirely on interpersonal dealings between the ruling class

Golden Deer, however, is designed very differently. Unlike the other 3 routes, the player, or more specifically Byleth, is put as the driving force instead of the Lord. And this is actually what makes Golden Deer such a good route and one with the best ending of all of them. Claude has ideals, but he isn't a person who wants to force others to follow his path like Edelgard. Claude has lived a life of strife where his past motivates him, but it doesn't chain him the same way it does Dimitri. Instead, he works on understanding everyone around him and working together towards agreed upon goals, while taking on stuff that isn't agreed upon onto himself. But more than that, while all the Lord's value your opinion, Claude is the only one who actually takes what Byleth wants (rather than just what they think about specific matters) into consideration for his plans. Repeatedly you tell Seteth in Silver Snow that you don't want to kill Edelgard, but he pushes that you have no choice. Pretty much the entire first half of Azure Moon is Dimitri ignoring you. And in Crimson Flower, you've all but completely submitted to Edelgard's will with a couple of exceptions (which actually proves my point because it's specifically in regards to the Golden Deer because you can fight the entirety of Crimson Flower while sparing all of them except for Judith). But in Verdant Wind, Claude doesn't hide that he has a problem with the church and wants Rhea gone. In Golden Wildfire, without Byleth, he's more than happy to just get rid of her without a second thought. But when Byleth is the protagonist, he goes out of his way to accommodate your wants into his plans and goals. When you express as the player that you want to reason with Edelgard and ponder if you can't walk the same path, Claude agrees with you and says he'll make it happen if he can, with the other Golden Deer mostly agreeing. When that,can't happen you both lament the fact that Edelgard gave you no choice together. He makes finding Rhea a priority, mostly because as curious as he is in general, he wants to help you find out answers only Rhea can give you. And all of the Golden Deer do this to some extent, with each other but also with you as the player. I think Hilda and Marianne's A supports with Byleth show this best personally, but that's a personal opinion. And it just works so well for a route designed around the idea of an alliance, people coming together and agreeing to work towards a goal bigger than themselves

And that's not to say the other routes aren't as good as Golden Deer, they're all equally well written, but it just makes me sad when I see people giving the Golden Deer route grief just because the characters aren't the same when it does its theme so beautifully

kine is based off mola mola sunfish, which are about 6ft in size!!therefore i raise you: mola mola sunbathing party!! (+ the slightly more realistic animal friends :DD)

OKAY i did a lot of research on animals for this one!! feel free to read my notes under the cut 👇

kine: is a mola mola/ocean sunfish, specifically from pacific waters! i'm in love with the idea of this six foot behemoth next to all the tiny creatures of dreamland, and as someone with a crippling obsession with fish, i had to draw him :] pacific mola molas match the distinctive petal-shaped clauvus (not a caudal fin!) that kine has, but don't have a lot of iconic lip action, which is why i tried to make it seem like a... discolored snout? molas are typically one color, and the blue color could seem natural from an angle, so let's pretend that real!kine just has lots of cool barnacles.

coo: is taken from @starflungwaddledee's dusky eagle owl notes! they literally look so much like coo it's insanee + i added the stripes to his wings. finding the bird-to-cartoon ratio was kinda hard actually 😭 birds are hard to draw what

rick: is based on a golden hamster (aka syrian hamster)!!! he's exactly the type of hamster you think of when you think of a normal hamster. golden hamsters are technically one of the largest hamsters, but still only stand at about 7 inches— so i decided to use his cartoon logic to keep him somewhat relative to coo

chuchu: SHE'S A FLAPJACK OCTOPUS SHE'S LITERALLY A FLAPJACK OCTOPUS!!!! scientists actually wanted to name the species "adorabilis" and just look them up please they're so cute!!! you can tell that DL3 character designers had flapjack octopi on their minds when they designed her. their fins look similar to a bow, and i obviously couldn't get rid of that, so i gave her both :]]

nago: is a calico cat. he's not overly cartoonish in his game design in regards to how he looks as a cat— he is undeniably a cat. i let my middle school warrior cats obsession take over for that one. calicos are almost always female, so i also raise you trans nago 🫶

pitch: resembles a warbling white eye, according to wikirby. i tend to draw him similar to one anyways, thanks to adeleine's slightly more realistic drawings in the DL3 credits. he's definitely also been sized up to fit in with the rest of the cast, since a 4-inch bird wouldn't exactly be visible.

John Price, Alejandro Vargas, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and König

Headcanons

I chose some random animals for this, no specific country in mind lmao.

John Price

- Price doesn’t really know what to do when he goes looking for you and finds you asleep, with a whole ass mountain lion sleeping in your lap. The feline just opens its eye a smidge to look at Price and goes back to sleep.

- The book is laying on the mountain lions back as you snooze, glasses sliding down your nose as half cuddled against the feline.

- He slowly moves closer, ready to move if the mountain lion decides to attack but it just keeps snoozing in your lap. Price carefully wakes you up, always keeping an eye on the feline until you wake up.

- He wants to pull you away to safety immediately, but you pet the feline some more before carefully pushing it off your lap and getting your things and leaving with Price.

- He tells you not to do that again, because what the hell, and you could get very hurt if the animal wasn’t that friendly. Price definitely keeps an eye on you from then on out to make sure you don’t go cuddle wild animals again.

Alejandro Vargas

- Alejandro goes looking for you after he’s been in meetings all day, and when he sees you asleep under a tree he smiles and goes to maybe kiss you awake. Then he notices the snake in your lap, along with the golden eagle loafing beside you.

- He kinda freezes with visible confusion on his face, because huh?? The eagle is death glaring him as he tries to scoot closer, the bird looking like it wants to maul him for bothering their sleepy time.

- The snake is asleep on your hands that are holding the book, it rattles its tail at Alejandro, so he quickly backs off and just kinda, stands at a distance and watches in confusion and worry.

- He doesn’t freak out as much as he should since the animals seem completely calm with you, but those are dangerous animals and they’re just?? Sleeping with you??

- When you finally wake up, he watches you pet the animals a bit, put the snake on the ground, get up, and just wander on over to him to give him a kiss.

- He tells you not to go sleep outside anymore, because he’s sure you’re cursed or something like that if you keep drawing dangerous animals to you.

Kyle “Gaz” Garrick

- Gaz calls you his Disney prince because animals are drawn to you, especially after he catches you sleeping with animals all over you.

- He immediately pulls out his phone to take pictures when he finds you asleep with at least 3 raccoons all over you, hummingbirds in your hair, and a fox draped over your legs.

- Its his phone background and he sends the picture to all the other members of the team.

- When he can’t find you he always goes to check outside because your typically out there reading with animals cuddling you.

- There’s been at least one time where some squirrels or birds have stolen your glasses, and to Gaz´s confusion you are somehow able to convince the animals to give them back.

- He thinks you are cute but he does not want you to come anywhere near him with a good amount of the animals, especially when you bring a rattlesnake into your shared bedroom because “it looked cold :(“

König

- König almost faints when he cant find you, goes to look, and finds you cuddling a grizzly bear. He starts panicking, thinking its dangerous, until he notices how the bear is just nuzzling you and licking your hair.

- When he sneaks closer the bear allows him, though it won’t let you go since it has its paw wrapped around you. So, König just sits down beside you, ready to bolt if he has too.

- He ends up carefully taking the book you were reading from your hands and starting to read it himself when it finally hits him that the bear is apparently completely harmless. He can’t help the way his heartrate goes up whenever it moves though.

- When you finally wake up the two of you stay sitting for a while, just talking quietly, until you have to go back to base. You wiggle out of the bears hold, which makes it obvious it isn’t the first time you’ve cuddled a bear, and the two of you leave.

- When the two of you get away from the bear König almost collapses because of the nerves and anxiety that whole experience gave him. He quietly asks you not to do that again, or he might not survive.

It’s been nagging at me for a while, so I’m going to try to put together my thoughts on the Quetzalcoatlus sequence in Prehistoric Planet 2. In the grand scheme of things it’s tiny, insignificant, and I loved Prehistoric Planet, but I’m not going to turn down the opportunity to talk at length about scavenging birds.

(Spoilers (?) for Prehistoric Planet 2 ahead. Go watch it!)

I’m talking about the part where a Tyrannosaurus is driven off from an Alamosaurus carcass (presumably carrion and not killed by the tyrannosaur). The tyrannosaur is expressly stated to be concerned about losing an eye to those Whopping Big Beaks. The pterosaurs aggressively fly over it a few times and honk angrily until the tyrannosaur walks away in Shameful Defeat, leaving the carcass to the pterosaurian pterrors.

And that confused me.

Before I go on, I want to point out that this is not a Who Would Win discussion, I’m not going to argue for or against one or another. Not going to discuss if Tyrannosaurus should really have won because of the massive weight advantage and lack of fragile bones/wings, or if the big landlubber had it coming and the numbers and aerial advantage was too much. I’m not arguing about Quetzalcoatlus being scary or not either (it’s scary as all hell).

No, the issue I had was with the beaks.

This is the Quetzalcoatlus as it appears in the show.

Impressive beak, isn’t it?

But it’s not the beak of a flesh tearer.

Let’s back up a bit. Birds that eat meat by tearing it into manageable chunks typically evolve sharp, hooked beaks to make up for the lack of teeth. Like this eagle for instance.

Majestic. They make the cutest sounds too. Look up golden eagle sounds, don’t believe the red-tailed hawk propaganda.

Raptor bills look intimidating, but they’re not there for killing. They’re cutlery. The talons do all the work, and then the beak tears up the meat into delicious gobbets of protein.

Even shrikes get in on the act. They don’t have killer feet, so they use their ripping bills to impale prey and tear at it.

Aw, look at it, it thinks it’s accipitrids.

The Quetzalcoatlus’ bill, though, doesn’t have that hook. It doesn’t look like the bill of a bird that dismembers its food. The closest thing I could think of to compare it with was stork bills. Specifically the marabou.

Ol’ pickaxe-for-a-face. This is the beak of an animal that stabs smaller prey and swallows them whole with minimum processing.

But a bill this long and pointed, turns out, is good for stabbing but not for tearing meat. Marabous are scavengers, but they won’t tear apart a carcass on their own. The “[b]ill [is] not well designed for dismembering carcasses, so [it] normally steals scraps from vultures or snatches up morsels that are dropped” (del Hoyo, Elliott, and Sargatal, 1992).

As you can see, vultures retained the hallmark accipitrid steak knife face, and are much better at Ripping and Tearing. This one (the lappet-faced vulture) generally goes first, being big and strong enough to Rip and Tear tough hide and get to the fleshy interior.

In fact, “[d]espite its huge bill, the [marabou] stork can rarely dominate a carcass and normally stands by the much more numerous vultures and nips in from time to time to snatch morsels which are dropped by others, though Tawny Eagles (Aquila rapax) in turn often steal food from the stork. The bill is not apparently very effective for cutting up meat and dismemberment is normally carried out quite simply by pulling” (del Hoyo, Elliott, and Sargatal, 1992). And if marabous have trouble with the average carcass, I wouldn’t imagine Quetzalcoatlus would fare much better with a titanosaur, which presumably has rather thick skin too.

One big happy family. That’s a much smaller carcass being shared (with the obligatory squabbling) by a whole bunch of dinosaurs. Neither vultures nor marabou are trying to monopolize it.

So... I don’t see why the big stork pterosaurs would chase away a perfectly good meat processor. I know everyone wants to see Big Prehistoric Animals Fighting With Lethal Intent, and everyone wants to see Tyrannosaurus Getting Knocked Down A Peg By The New Hotness, but I think it would have been a more interesting and believable scene - not to mention more in keeping with Prehistoric Planet’s attempt to be as scientifically believable as possible - if the pterosaurs acted like marabous the size of giraffes, both them and the tyrannosaur keeping a respectful distance of each other, and snapping up bits of meat left behind. And maybe the pterosaurs pulling the dinosaur’s tail for good measure, the way ravens bully eagles.

But it would make for a much less exciting scene. Who wants to watch a bunch of scavengers milling around a carcass and honking at each other as they jockey for the best morsels and settling their differences in ways that involve as little risk as possible? I mean, I do, but I don’t assume the average viewer does.

And that concludes my altogether far too long opinion on a single scene from a great series. Of course, I’m not a paleontologist and never will be, I’m only approaching this with what I know about birds, so please feel free to let me know if there’s any details of Quetzalcoatlus anatomy that do in fact suggest it could rip and tear!

Sugar Rush : November CPNs

What started out as a relatively quiet month after a chaotic October, turned into something else because of a few candies. Especially the whole 11/19 fiasco that surprised us all. LOL. As usual, this is for cpn-loving turtles only. Keep an open mind but still clown responsibly. I can’t believe we only have one month left for this year!

• some similarities in forwarding 119 message, yeah i know celebrities like them are sort of required to bring attention to stuff like this. however, WYB is known to support this cause and even made a VCR specifically for it. if you look at the actual post, theirs is the top 2 in terms of likes and the rest of the celebrities are not the usual ones similar to the boys’ caliber. Another clue that this is WYB’s advocacy of sorts, most, if not all top comments are from his fans. so ZZ joining in on spreading the message seems ( to me and some cpfs ) like influenced by WYB.

Next is they both filmed VCRs for "People in My Heart" - "Classic Characters" series. We just love seeing them support the same projects ^^

• Talking about this a bit late considering when the whole CPN started about this GG mural for GG. There are side by side comparisons of the eyes on the mural and Yibo’s. The CPN being they used WYB’s eyes for that mural.

I usually let people have free reign on clowning but this one isn’t for me personally. just because it’s obviously a mural commissioned by GUCCI which a big brand that couldn’t care less about the CP. Maybe it’s a coincidence how similar it is? Because there is a reference photo that should be followed. Also, this is GG’s time to shine. This mural is his & him. I think this is an example for cpfs to learn to separate the boys as individuals, especially for things that are work related and most especially their achievements. While I do believe they influence each other greatly, it’s important to not make every single thing a romantic relation.

Wing hcs for the seven (+reyna and nico). Because I got bored and they should have wings.

Jason- Swan. Specifically the wings of a trumpeter swan. Large, majestic, maybe a little tragic, pure white and just benefiting of a son of Jupiter and praetor of the legion. He probably spends hours after battle grooming the blood/monster dust/dirt out of them and it’s one hell of a self soothing habit by that point.

Piper- White-Tailed Kite. She’s probably the fastest of the seven, constantly has people asking if she’s got dove wings and it’s lowkey grating on her nerves. It’s a kite, not a glorified pigeon thank you very much. Her and Jason will take turns grooming each other’s feathers though, and it’s lovely bonding time for them both.

Leo- Common Raven. Either signifying knowledge/innovation or the burden of being omened by death, your choice. Who am I kidding, he definitely sees them as bad luck. Clipped on one side from a foster home or possibly when he had a runaway attempt from wilderness camp. Rarely has them out, and stress tears out his own feathers.

Annabeth- Barn Swallow. Kind of plain, but she just lies half the time and says that she’s got owl feathers. Post Mark of Athena, she’s more proud of them and her place among her peers with more exotic wings. Also Percy’s the only person with blanket permission to touch and groom her feathers. Also has a stress tearing issue, but her siblings and partner are good at catching her before she can damage herself too badly.

Percy- Common Kingfisher. Still good for flight, but also allows him to dive and hit the water without worrying about not being able to surface afterwards due to being waterlogged. Bit redundant since he can dry himself off anyway thanks to Poseidon powers but the point still stands. Plus, they’re blue and he’s absolutely chuffed that they are.

Frank- *insert american bald eagle jokes* jkjk. Red-Tailed Hawk. Although he didn’t get his adult feathers until he unlocked his shapeshifter abilities and matured there. He can also change his wings to different ones when he concentrates but it always feels a touch off, so he sticks with the wings he was born with.

Hazel- Golden-Winged Sunbird. Pretty! Unique! Gave her a lot of shit for it in her first life because of course the cursed girl with the death jewels had gold wings. She’s gotten alot more comfortable with having them since meeting Frank and Nico though.

Bonus!

Reyna- Hispanionlan Amazon. Yes, the green clashes with the purple of her praetor cloak. No, that will not stop her from still wearing it. Her and Hylla’s wings match, although Hylla dyes her feathers black in an attempt to seem more intimidating. Reyna tried once and decided that she preferred the original coloring of her wings.

Nico- Cinereous Vulture. Go look up photos, trust me. Absolute wet cat of a bird. Plus honor and respect in death, and like a vulture, Nico is also a scavenger. His wings are missing feathers from neglecting to groom them + the amount of time he’s spent nomadic. Living at camp full time is helping with the feather regrowth however.

BOOM SHAKALA MOTHERFUCKERS I HAVE ANOTHER IDEA!!!!!!!!

So, this time it's not anything to do with worlds or space but BIRDS.

Bet you didn't expect that one didn't you!

Sam have a great expansion of knowledge about the Paranormal, Mythological and the Occult. So, she finds out magic is real and is fucking ecstatic, well after she met Pandora, she started going through all of her material for spells and what not.

She knows all witches have to have a familiar, but she doesn't know what she would want to have as one, then a crow catches her eye and she just goes fuck it.

Then she started collecting an army of crows.

Pandora herself helps teach her the more, mystic, parts of magic whenever she's available, with Undergrowth begrudgingly helping her along with other parts such as nature magic.

Which is actually surprisingly difficult and rather easy and the same time.

Undergrowth uses a completely different system to use his abilities, whereas Sam uses mana and the occult to achieve her magic. So some things that Undergrowth can do easily might be hard to do for Sam, and where things that Sam can do easily would be a bit difficult for Undergrowth to do too.

The same thing is true for Pandora, albeit to a much lesser extent. She knows about spells and mana, so it's easier for her to translate to into teaching for Sam unlike Undergrowth.

Pandora is the one who helped to unlock Sam's mana when she was interested in it, finding that she has a great amount of mana right off the bat.

Enough that in the olden days she would be fought over by magicians fiercely.

Even more so by how greatly it increases by the added on amount of her familiars.

Now, a single crow's mana isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, but add on 50, 100, 1000? Now, that is a great boost indeed.

Sam has enough crows to cover the sky has an entire city. Though most of them she never uses, that's still a great deal of mana that she and her familiar's are constantly sharing with each other, she even managed to cast protection magic on each and every one.

At least she's dedicated.

Hotep Ra is back in town, despite his attempts to plot and use Tucker to further his own ends, he now wants to serve the boy just as he did Duulaman.

To which Tucker was rightfully suspicious of.

Hotep Ra explained that now that Tucker has defeated him, no matter if he had help from his friends or that ghost boy or not, he has recognized him as the rightful heir to the throne.

Even if that throne is long gone, Hotep Ra is not.

With the time he spent with Tucker, he would sometimes urge the boy to reclaim his past self's throne, claiming that Duulaman and by an obvious extension Tucker, was born to rule over others.

To which tucker doesn't really want so he just nopes outta that one.

Hotep Ra also help him be able to control the scepter, although he himself doesn't have complete knowledge of it, he's learned through observing Duulaman what to do and how to use it.

He also got Tucker a few birds as an apology, specifically Golden Eagles, as Duulaman himself quite loved the apex birds, and thought it would be a fitting apology if Tucker happened to share the same trait.

It worked.

So now tucker has pet Eagles that come to him whenever he wants.

Danny is a bit miffed at current events, don't get him wrong he's happy that his friends get to learn magic and stuff, but now they barely have anytime to hang out!

Seeing that his kid isn't feeling that great what with his recent friends learning magic and having birds, Pariah thought that it would score him a few dad points if he got his kid his own bird!

Said bird is a giant the size of two houses that can and would kill if given a reason to. Pariah Dark literally forced it into submission so his son can be happy, it can also split itself up into multiple smaller birds.

Danny is happy with his gift.

Sam, when she isn't learning with Pandora or Undergrowth or hanging out with Danny and Tucker, usually occupies herself trying out magical concoctions or rituals.

A recent one she wants to try is to make a stone, a stone which is surprisingly apart of the family tree with the Philosopher's stone, just that this one uses no alchemy and pure magic to achieve its results.

She's confident in herself and that she can do, so she gathered all the ingredients listed for it. The first few of the ingredients were rather easy to get at first.

A lotus whom blooms at the crack of morn yet lay dormant 'i its absence.

A lotus which grants thou both power and strength tied with the god of kinship, physic, protection, travelling lamp and welken

A stone what be foe of any poison

A stone quoth to dispatch any whom comes into contact

All four of these weren't hard to get, though she had to wait quite a while for her crows to bring her the items requested.

The last item was a liquid.

Substance of greenist glow quoth to bring the dead to life and the corky to youth

Easy, she thought. There is loads of that stuff all around the ghost zone, though when she tried it, it failed.

Again, she tried failed.

She never knew what went wrong, she had all the ingredients, so what is happening? She looked over the recipe again, seeing that everything she had should have worked.

Was it her timing?

No, her timing was perfect.

Were her ingredients defective of some kind?

No, if they were she would know.

She paced back and forth through her room, thinking to herself what she could be doing wrong with a few crows looking at her curiously. She went through the recipe over and over, looking over her timing and ingredients before stopping.

Wait.

Bring the dead to life. Ectoplasm can't do that.

Sam sent out a village's worth of crows to find this mysterious substance that she thought was ectoplasm, but isn't. Yet when her familiars came back, not a single one could find it for her.

So, she sent them into the zone, confident in her protections so that they won't be harmed. It was when she was sleeping that she felt it.

A vicious snaping withing her chest that forced her awake and out of bed, almost immediately she called all of her crows to her, all of them coming but one.

So, she sent out to find her missing crow. Going to where she can feel the bond's last traces and with coming upon a portal. She then departed without hesitation with only half of her scout crows.

Almost immediately she could feel the bond pick back up again and made hast to follow it. When she got there she was ecstatic, there right in front of her was a glowing green pool of the liquid she thinks she needed.

Though she was cautious in approaching it.

It was only when she was nearby the pool did she realize a man was in the room with her, a man who stepped out of the pool with his attention fully on her, his red eyes gazing at her with interest.

She tensed when she noticed one of her scout crows gripped tightly in his hand.

Danny and Tucker are worried about Sam, they haven't seen her in a while, and while it isn't all that usual for her to be doing her own magic thing for days on end.

They couldn't help this foreboding feeling in the back of they're heads.

Which was only furthered by how her crows gathered around them and pushed them towards a portal in the zone. Hotep Ra went with them, not one to leave his master.

The three stepped into the portal, and not knowing that they stepped into an entire different universe.

They started to search for their missing friend with the help of her crows and their own birds.

A thing, Sam doesn't know where all of her familiars are and vice versa normally. But if she ever focuses on their bond it would lead her to them, and she can call them to her whenever she wants.

I hate how Lysithea gets viewed as an "honorary Black Eagles member" and the only reason that claim is made is cause of BE fans being blinded by their bias.

Her similair trauma with Edelgard isn't enough to argue that Lysithea fits better in the black eagles than the golden deers, especially considering the fact that empire is responsible for Lysithea's suffering.

Lysithea never needed to support Edelgards pointless and idiotic war and team up with the Agarthans to retire from nobility and get rid of the importance of crests and heroes relics.

If anything the only honorary house member in Three Houses is Petra being an honorary Golden Deer.

I made a post about this before but not only has Adrestia caused her, her family and her people nothing but grief but Edelgard would gladly sacrifice Petra and her nation for her own selfish goals, proven by her paralogue where she sends Hubert to kill her and subjegate Brigid.

Edelgard never saw Brigid's subjegation as a wrong of her to right, but something for Petra to earn as if she's supposed to answer to her.

And the reason I specifically said Petra is a Golden Deer is cause of her dynamic with Claude. He has great chemistry with Petra, share the same goals and come from similair backgrounds of being foreign royals wanting better for their people.

I was imagining a hypothetical timeline where JCJenson, instead of making robots decided to create bio-mechanical nanobots to aid in healing Alzheimers, cancers, and genetic illness, and even cybernetic augmentations. However the company began experimenting with animals, making them develop human-like intelligence, speech, and mannerisms to act as servants, companions, security, information gatherers, etc. Tessa in this case collected baby animals from the exotic pet trade, and injected them with nanites so they can be her friends (much to her parents’ disgust).

However, they are some animals that can augment/mutate into forms beyond the limitations of their species as well as hack into technology for their own ends (Cyn). They can also assimilate the nanites of animals they consume to advance themselves. Sometimes, these nanites enter the ecosystem either through escaped subjects, improperly disposed bodies and waste products, and runoff in waterways. Leading to some wild animals becoming sapient and developing their own communities (Uzi). This caused JCJenson to try to eliminate these animals with extreme prejudice and wipe out the pathogen. Using advanced mutated animals specifically designed to wipe out the rogue animals at all costs.

The Biggest "Fuck You" to human and monsterkind. Genocidal, territorial winged beings that don't hesitate to put you in your place if you cross their lines. Your place usually being six feet under, in their opinion.

( Warning: Dead Dove Do Not Eat. Much violence mentioned, and also more info on Avians and my Avian Sanses that you can feel free to ask about )

An original species! They're very dangerous creatures that usually have the body of a monster or human, but many physical attributes of a bird.

Significant changes are:

Magic-made bodies. No matter whether they look human or monster, their bodies are an unusual mix or magic and bones.

Fragile bones. Their bones are hollow, meaning they can be broken rather easily if they're not careful.

Feathered wings and tail. Taking after various birds, Avians have both wings and tail that they are very careful with. Touching these are a big no-no, and will almost immediately get you killed.

Avian Sanses:

Classic, a Carrion Crow. Built for speed and assassination. He works as both an assassin and as a spy.

Red, a Golden Eagle. Built for frontline battle with savage-looking claws and sharp teeth.

Axe, the leader of the flock, and a Harpy Eagle. He's dangerous and built for both leadership and slaughter.

Killer, an Australian Magpie. Chaotic and wild, Killer is a specialized fighter that's specifically good at ambushing.

Cross, a Snowy Owl. Wise and cold, Cross tends to provide useful information in combat and is also an info-collector.

Dust, a Peregrine Falcon. Built for both speed and power, Dust is, in the best way to explain it, one hard motherfucker to fight. He's quiet and lethal. You won't see him coming until too late.

Blue, a Blue Jay. He's hard to hit and outgoing- many say his best strength is in the way he's able to absolutely tear you down only using his words. He's a forager and a fighter.
