This is a 6-parter--600 words total! Shockingly no prominent ships in this one (aside from some implied Samiguel).
Hey, y'all remember when Miguel admitted to Hawk that he'd cheated on Tory and Hawk immediately answered with "NICE!!!"??? Because I sure do -_____-
Anyways back in S2 Miguel was so CLEARLY not a fan of Hawk's increasingly douchey behavior, but I always got the feeling he swept a lot of it under the rug for the sake of their friendship. But had Tory not started the school fight, I got the impression things were leading up to a confrontation between them where Miguel really chews him out about being a dick to Demetri and being like. Gross and sexist in general. So these are some things I wrote for a "No School Fight" AU where that's exactly what happens!

“What’s your problem? Are you really that upset you kissed Sa—”
“What’s your problem?” Miguel is finally awake enough for his temper to flare up. “You congratulated me for cheating on my girlfriend! What’s wrong with you?!”
Hawk scoffs. “You land all the bitches now. You should be proud.”
“I don’t want to ‘land all the bitches.’” Miguel groans, face in his hands. “You know shit like that is the reason Miyagi-Do thinks we’re all douchebags, right?”
“Good! They should be scared of us!”
“Oh, get over yourself, Hawk. The only one taking this karate war seriously is you.”

“We can’t sit there!”
Hawk grabs Miguel as he starts toward where Demetri’s eating alone.
Miguel frowns. “Why?”
Hawk’s nostrils flare, like he’s considering a rant.
“Demetri joined the enemy!” is all that comes out.
Miguel rolls his eyes. “You need to stop buying into Sensei Kreese’s every word. You don’t want to get yanked around by him like Sensei Lawrence did.”
“Just because you’ve gone soft—”
“This is ridiculous.” Miguel’s had enough. “You can come or not, but I’m going to sit with our friend.”
“He’s not my—”
Miguel’s halfway across the cafeteria before Hawk can finish.

“Hey.”
Demetri starts when Miguel puts his lunch tray down. He turns, worry morphing into pleasant surprise.
“Not with the Cobras?”
“You’re my friend, too.”
Demetri’s expression softens.
“Thanks for returning the medal. Sam told me.”
“No problem. Sorry Hawk’s been an asshole.”
“Is he...”
Demetri glances across the cafeteria.
“Not coming. Too busy sulking about me sitting with a Miyagi-Do.”
“Okay, well, there’s something you should know—”
That’s when Sam and Robby show up. Miguel realizes he’s made a terrible mistake.
“What’s he doing here?” Robby demands.
“Miguel isn’t like the others!” Demetri raises his hands. “He’s nice!”

With Sam and Demetri chatting away, off in their own world, Miguel wonders if Hawk’s megadouche rants would be preferable to Robby Keene’s stony silence.
“So.” Miguel can’t stand this any longer. “Do you have Mr. Henderson for Algebra II?”
“Yeah. Seems like a hardass.”
“Had him 3rd period. Dickwad already gave us homework.”
“Hoping I can transfer to precalc.” Robby chuckles awkwardly. “Demetri tutored me a bit this summer. I got an 85% on the pre-exam.”
Miguel’s admittedly impressed. “Nice.”
Strange. After the summer’s drama, this kind of mundanity’s almost comforting.
Still, Miguel wishes his hand was in Sam’s.

Miguel hardly expects an SOS text from Robby Keene, but he doesn’t refuse. When he hears Sam and Demetri are in trouble, he comes running.
The Miyagi-Dos were jumped after school—Tory, Hawk, the rest of Cobra Kai. Miguel’s too late to stop the worst of Tory’s attack, but he turns the tide.
Kreese is pissed at him for opposing his teammates. Sensei’s pissed because Kreese is. Miguel will live.
He dumps Tory. He’s always given her the benefit of the doubt, but...
Seeing her looming over Sam, murder in her eyes, Miguel wonders if he was being too nice.

“You’ve got nerve, throwing your lot in with them.”
Miguel sighs, more tired than angry. “You’re lucky the Miyagi-Dos didn’t press charges. Sam and Robby wanted to, but Demetri begged them not to. Said you ‘weren’t yourself.’”
Hawk sneers. “And what are you, Demetri’s bitch?”
“He’s worried about you, Hawk. I am, too. You’re being an asshole, and I know that’s not you—”
“Fuck you. Maybe your bleeding-hearted ass is too nice, huh?”
Hawk shoves his way into a crowd, disappearing.
Got our work cut out for us, Miguel texts Demetri.
Keep trying, Demetri immediately responds. He’ll come around.

I spoke to a nice Mindflayer once in Baldur's Gate 3 and it changed me forever
#churchy talks#tbh I think part of the reason I've become so fond of Mindflayers is because I ADORE octopi and squid#but Omeluum def played a hand in it#I want to play my idea for Mindflayer bard in actual DnD so BADLY (her name is Phi)#I also got an idea for a Kobold paladin and a Goblin rogue#and Lorn who is my Dragonborn ranger in BG3 (I need to get back to them)#there's also Acidblood who if I knew how to mod would be a xenomorph and she's also a rogue#my main playing file in BG3 is Walks-Through-Fire and she's actually my Argonian Dragonborn in Skyrim#she fell into a portal and ended up in the DnD world at the worst time possible#SPEAKING OF THOUGH#I was talking to some friends while showing them the game and spoke about my Dovahkiin headcanons#and how when they die they become actual dragons (not always tho) in said headcannons#and I was thinking how much of a clusterfuck it would be if Fire went through ceremorphosis#but she's so fucking stubborn she technically lives twice#so her soul leaves cuz there's nothing to absorb it and eventually forms a new body (maybe it looks like a mix of DnD dragons and the Dovah#while her old body becomes a Mindflayer but keeps her personality#and now there's just two of her#and they both have to deal with it#which made me want to design a Illithid version of her

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

friend wanted to see my tumblr, and when i told him i can’t show it to him bc it’s basically my personal diary he went “oh so I can’t see it but a bunch of strangers on tumblr can??” he literally does not get me. no one will get me like the people in my phone get me

I’m not about to start censoring my thoughts bc someone I know knows my tumblr#u guys literally saw me have LIVE BREAKDOWNS#meanwhile I’ll have the worst fucking day in history and tell no one about it. I’m already cripplingly private but way more so in real life#this is basically a low stress journaling outlet for me. it’s so important for me to maintain the separation#like this is actually my diary & has been so handy for letting out emotions / articulating thoughts / staying on track !!#& I’ve met so many kind people on here who actually get me. which is so hard to find irl bc I’m surrounded by pre-med gunners/overachievers#who are by standard not very good w emotion & can be competitive/judgmental. or at least it’s hard for me to be vulnerable in front of them#and I’m part of that crowd so I reserve my emotions only to a handful of very close friends#it’s nice to hop on here and express negative emotions!! or positive emotions!! just whatever I want and it’s low stress and people get me#I don’t have to worry about judgment or competitiveness etc etc#like everyone on here is so kind & nice & understanding. & just a breath of fresh air from the types I run w. it’s just nice to have this#so idk that’s why I think I’ll always be strict about keeping the worlds separate. it just works#p

I feel like there's two parts to the no fly list leak that are getting overlooked right now
1) the person in question has the handle "maia arson crimew" meaning media outlets have to cite "crimew" as the person they're quoting, which is amazing.
2) From everything I've read, crimew didn't actually commit a crime (in this case at least). According to crimew, the no-fly list was discovered on a publicly accessible server, totally unsecured. crimew was using Shodan which is a totally legal tool regularly used by a lot of the security community for research. Schools use and provide access to Shodan, it's a normal tool. Nothing crimew was doing was out of the ordinary. Her access and use of the file was most likely legal (or at least next to impossible to prosecute), given that it was publicly accessible.
crimew even notified CommuteAir of the data vulnerability. Which prevented more sensitive data from leaking, and was absolutely a sign of acting in good faith. Her obligation to even do that is a pretty gray area, but she did it anyways.
Now, crimew has gotten charged by the US in the past for other things, however, Swiss citizens cannot be extradited against their will. So the proceedings were suspended. She could only be charged under Swiss law, and given that the data is/was publicly accessible and the exposure was for public good, that's very unlikely to happen.
The people actually getting investigated by congress/the FBI/the TSA are the idiots at CommuteAir that were hosting the no fly list on an unsecured publicly accessible server. They're the ones who actually get in trouble for failing to have followed basic security protocols. They're the ones who had a legal obligation to safe guard that data, and they're the ones who fucked up.

Help me settle a debate with my friends! If it seems difficult to choose that's normal, we've already dealt with the animals that are easy to sort (e.g. goats and mice are the two extremes on the spectrum of animal civility) and these are the more dicey choices that are on a similar level of perceived politeness.

Desperate Villain Danny AU
(this is a 17 yr old danny)
It started out slowly.
First, a few of Danny's less active Rouges stopped showing up at all. He didn't really notice, and just assumed that they had finally had their Fill of their Obsession for a while and would simmer down for a bit.
Then, some more of his Rouges stopped showing up. No big deal, but he is getting a little concerned for them. They had definitely not had their fill of their Obsessions yet, why did they stop?
Then, the worst started happen. All of his actual Ghost Friends start to disappear. Ember, Kitty, Johnny, even Amorpho, they all start to not show up at all in the Living World.
He goes looking for them in Realms, but he can't find any of them whatsoever. He tries asking around, but everybody else noticed the disappearances much earlier than him and began to hide away from whatever was taking all of the strong Ghosts. He can't find anybody, and the ones he does find won't tell him anything (or don't know themselves)
It takes weeks of searching, but eventually he gets his answer.
The GIW show up in Amity again after a period of absolutely no activity. They have stepped up their operations HARD. Advanced Ghost Hunting Equipment, Much more Competent Agents, and most worrying of all, they seem to know that Phantom is friends with Sam, Tucker, and Danny Fenton.
The GIW comes to his house for a Meeting with his parents, where he overhears them offering his parents a position in their Organization as Head Scientists. While there they also manage to plant Bugs in Danny's room somehow. Although he finds them quickly enough and destroys them.
And then, one night during dinner while his parents are ranting about the GIWs Labs, they mention something that cinches it for Danny.
"And today we even got to Dissect one of the Spooks! It was that Mind Controlly one, you know the one with the blue firey hair stuff that sang a bunch! We're going back tomorrow to continue our Study, this time we'll see how long it'll pretend to experience pain before it decides to give up on tricking us!"
That night, Danny packed up all his things, destroyed the Ghost Portal alongside everything else in his parents Lab, and left his house.
He tracked down the GIW Base, saved Ember from her Cell, and decimated the surrounding Area. No survivors, none of the research is preserved, and he left the Site Director alive to question him.
Turns out, the GIW had managed to Reverse Engineer the Ghost Portal from that brief period of time where they had taken control of Fenton Works. They had been using their own Portal to kidnap any Ghost they could get their hands on. Using the research from those subjects, they perfected their Ghost Hunting Tech and started going after the bigger fish.
"But good luck finding it, Ecto Scum! The Portals location was hidden to everybody, even me!" He said.
"Where are the others!" Danny cried. He was losing control of his appearance by this point. After seeing what they had done to Ember, he was too angry to maintain his Humanoid Form successfully. Even now, with most of his control, he could hear the Static in the air around him, and see the Glitching of his hands as they clenched this Monsters clothes.
"Scattered!" He said with a crazed laugh, "We knew we couldn't contain all of them, so we send them to all of our sites across the Country! You'll never find them!"
Without another word, Danny plowed his arm through the man's chest.
He turned around, picking up Embers weakened Body, before beginning his long flight to Wisconsin. Vlad still owed him a few Favors after all, and honestly his mentorship offers seemed VERY Tempting right now.
(Why reject him if you don't care about keeping your dad alive anymore?)

The JLA had recently received a distress signal from somewhere in the middle of some random Forest in Illinois, but when they got to the location, all they found was a crater filled with the ruins of some kind of Military Base, and so so many Bodies.
They had managed to figure out that this was a Government Site owned by an organization called the GIW. A Paranormal Investigation Wing of the Government focused on the study and capture of Supernatural Beings called Ecto-Entities, otherwise referred to as Ghosts.
As it turns out, an Ecto-Entity that had been terrorizing the local town for a few years now had made a drastic change in normal behavior and had attacked the GIW Base that had been posted there.
They would have destroyed it years ago, but this one was unnaturally powerful. It had eluded their capture and terrorized the Town for years, but they had too much pride to contact the JLA and admit that they needed help. And honestly until now, they didn't really need it. The Entity had been entirely confined to the singular town, and had not strayed from that behavioral Pattern in the 3 years since it's inital sighting. They had made the difficult choice to leave it there, sacrificing one town in exchange for the rest of the country.
But now they did need their help. This Entity, this Phantom, was one of the most powerful beings that had ever recorded, maybe even The Most Powerful. The fact that it had left the Secluded town it usually frequented meant that it was loose to wreak havoc across the rest of the world.
The JLA Needed to Find this thing, and Fast.
