Mailman just handed me this sexy MIJ @fender Stratocaster for Stephen Pettyjohn of @pettyjohnelec and I am all smiles imagining the ear to ear grin on his face when he finally gets her back and plugs in to play Wonderwall for the first time! I am a huge fan of Stephen’s work as anyone who has seen my pedal board can tell you and it is because of the design and vision we had for his custom DarkSlide guitar that @kentarmstrongpickups and I stumbled on to the final design of the Turner model humbucker. Which then spawned a whole line of new pickups based of Kent’s entirely new proprietary pickup design for the humbucker being adapted to each of the other pickup designs. We are going to tear her down completely and remove all DNA and gunk, refret the neck with fresh 6105 wire and true any potential odd spots out of the fingerboard, new @graphtechguitarlabs locking Ratio tunes tuning machines, black tusq xl nut and trees, our signature Turner model Strat pickups with shielded covers wired to TGC 50s specs complete with @emersoncustom CTS 250K pots, blender and PIO cap nestled nicely in a fully shielded circuit path with vintage push back cloth wire also from Mitch and the guys at Emerson, @wudtoneofficial Holy Grail Trem assembly 😍 (the ultimate strat Trem IMO) with the upgraded bell brass block and cold rolled bent steel saddles. Top Ten Movies Round 2: Jurassic Park This clever girl had to beg her parents to let her see this movie when it came out in theaters. I was 8 years old and all of my friends had seen it, but my parents thought that it might be inappropriate for me. A friend at school let me borrow the movie adaption book without my parents permission. I finished it in one day. When I told my parents that I already knew everything that would happen they finally caved in. It is still the most magical movie going experience I’ve ever had. Over the next couple of years they patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox and sold it. My childhood was filled with Jurassic Park toys and video games (In the Sega Genesis game you can play as a raptor, nuff’ said). I even remember waiting outside Blockbuster Video for them to open so that we could buy the VHS on the day it was released. This is a movie that gets better with age. • The acting is on point (the portrayal of Ian Malcolm by @jeffgoldblum is my favorite) • The effects hold up (the blending of CG effects with animatronics was key) • The direction by Steven Spielberg is top notch • The soundtrack by legendary composer John Williams lends itself to the sense of wonder, while still fitting the grandiose scale that this movie is worthy of. If you’ve seen it then you know why it’s in my Top Ten. If you haven’t seen it then rent it tonight and hold on to your butts!
