Disney Sequel Movies Final Results
Congratulations to "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" for being our ultimate tournament winner!
We would also like to congratulate "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" for winning the Animated Sequel Tournament!
Both of these movies are fantastic in their own right but also masterfully continue their original story into the next phase of their worlds. Well chosen, voters.
Thank you to everyone who submitted movies, reblogged/commented/liked our posts, and voted in the poll(s). Without your engagement, we would've stopped a while ago.
Below are our final thoughts from this tournament:
First things first: we absolutely thought Cinderella 3 was going to win it all. It would be interesting to see how Cinderella 3 would do up against Dead Man's Chest. Would it be closer? or would Cinderella get crushed worse?
Speaking of Cinderella 3, the Animated finals was so close! The first half of the week C3 managed a small but consistent lead over LK2. Then LK2 fans were mobilized and suddenly LK2 was miles ahead! the last two-three days C3 fans managed close the gap. It was like there was a steady ratio of votes that had been disrupted by the mid-week spike. We firmly believe that had the poll been open for another day (even half-day) C3 would have taken the title back. Alas, LK2 won fair and deservedly by 17 votes.
On the other side, Thor: Ragnarok got further than we though considering the number of people who disliked it in the first round. We were pretty sure it would be taken out by Spiderman: No Way Home. But winning there pretty much guarenteed it would beat the DCOM film.
Speaking of DCOM, we had no idea High School Musical 2 was so popular! It's our favorite of the HSM group, but we were thinking the more recent Descendants would be more of a challenge.
Another close race was Pirates v Princess. There PotC won by just 18 votes. We had expected it to be a close one. This was also the poll we anticipated it most likely for people to bring the actors into the debate to persuade. As great as it would have been to see praise of Julie Andrews or Keira Knightly or Orlando Bloom or Chris Pine we want to thank everyone for not using us as a place to debate the personal actors involved in the films.
Going off on actors a moment, how many of you all know that George of the Jungle was recast for the sequel?
We would also like to highlight that the top four submissions we received were Cinderella 3 (top), The Lion King 2 (second), The Little Mermaid 2/The Lion King 1 1/2 (tied third).
(We had structured the bracket so those four would have the best chance to face off. But Kronk happened (in the best way))
In fact, Cinderella 3 was the first submitted, had 3 of the first 6 submissions, and was almost able to book end by almost being the last submission too. (C3 also had enough submitted propaganda that rounds 1 and 2 are different where everyone else is working with the same)
The most submitted Live Action sequel was The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
As for a lesson learned: We know the way a ballot/poll/tournament is structured will inherently impact the results. We don't think we will set up the first round like this one's again when there's less than 64.
Now for the standard disclaimer: with the exception of 1 or 2, all the propaganda used was not created by ourselves. The words were pulled from the google form, the gifs are from the search here, the videos were from youtube.
Finally, for those of you anxiously awaiting everyone's favorite color:
Half of y'all like the blues/purples! Blue is slightly more beloved on it's own
about 7% of you picked the wrong answer (black) but none of you picked the other wrong answer (white)!
We gotta acknowledge the call out for Teal specifically. It aint blue, it aint green!
But secretly, while we might say purple when asked, we agree with the 2.5% of y'all who can't decide.

LOSER'S BRACKET SUBMISSIONS OPENING!
For anyone who was here for Red Riding Poll or Cinderpoll (or follow me on @sleepyhead-poll) Loser's Bracket will be the same as there. Feel free to reread the rules to refresh yourself though.
Nominate Little Mermaid characters who have lost up until this point for the Loser's Bracket! Submissions will be open for a week, starting today. Characters have to be those that have ALREADY APPEARED in the tournament but have since LOST. DO NOT SUBMIT CHARACTERS WHO WEREN'T IN THE MAIN TOURNEY ALREADY, THIS IS A LOSER'S BRACKET, NOT LITTLE MERPOLL PT. 2.
The top 8 or 16 (depending on how many submissions are sent in) most submitted characters will be accepted into the Loser's Bracket.
Feel free to add propaganda on why you think the character you submitted should have gotten farther/won the tournament. The only propaganda on the Loser's Bracket poll will be here, as previous propaganda will not be included.
Submissions will be accepted through the ask box. Feel free to use anon if you're shy.
Submit as many characters as you want, but don't submit the same character more than once. If I realize that's what you're doing, I will 1) turn anon off, so you've ruined that for everyone 2) ban the character from the Loser's Bracket.
When the Loser's Bracket starts, it will be 3 or 4 rounds (depending on whether it ends up being a 8 or 16 contestant bracket) and, unlike the main tournament, the rounds will last only 1 day instead of 1 week.
The winner of the Loser's Bracket will be mentioned in the winner announcement poll for the tournament!

Hey there! I've noticed a lot of brackets for fictional fathers but not a lot for fictional moms (if there is I couldn't find them lol), so I'm doing one of my own.
General rules;
1. Fictional moms only, don't submit real people pls.
2. The characters do have to be mothers in some form whether biological, adoptive, or just a strong maternal role model.
3. GOOD MOMS ONLY, flawed parents are okay but don't submit mothers who are abusive, bad parents, etc. They don't have to be good people, but do have to be good parents
4. Just be nice pls
SUBMIT YOUR MOMS HERE!
I'll do as many as I can but will likely cap it off once we get at 150 or so, obvs will have to be an even number, pls reblog for more as much interaction as possible and bear with me as I've never ran a bracket before lol

The next poll tournament I will be running is the Characters With Fans Tournament.
...Um, fans as in hand fans, I should probably clarify.
I have submitted two characters myself (they'll be at the top of the submissions list)
Submit a character with a fan, along with where they come from and (if you want) propaganda. You can do this through ask or submit a post.
Currently submissions will be closing once the already running poll tournament ends. This could be changed and there will be an update if it does, but for now that's how it is.

Inspired by @hotvintagepoll, here's another bracket featuring some hot vintage actors- but instead of being about actors from a particular medium, this one's about actors associated with a particular genre:
The Hottest Vintage Sci Fi/Fantasy Actors Bracket!
I'll be starting with a men's bracket.
Submissions for the men's bracket are open! You can submit in the google form below. Submissions will be open until May 5th (unless I need to extend them or close them early because I'm getting too few/too many submissions, but I'll try to give a good heads up if the deadline changes). Rules for who is eligible are under this form.
What makes an actor eligible for this tournament?
In order to keep this tournament on-theme and not have it turn into a free-for-all vintage actors tournament, all actors submitted should have some kind of strong connection to Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy media. This might mean that they're an actor who has appeared frequently in various Sci Fi/Fantasy works, or that their most well-known role is from something that's Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Actors who aren't necessarily exclusively or primarily thought of as Sci-Fi/Fantasy actors are allowed, provided that they have at least one Sci-Fi/Fantasy work that is considered an iconic role for them. You are free to submit actors you aren't sure count! I'd rather have more submissions than less. Just keep in mind that its possible some people may be cut if it doesn't feel like they really fit the tournament.
(Also, as a side note: horror movies with some kind of fantastical/sci fi element also count for this tournament!)
Other rules for submissions & propaganda:
You can submit actors who appeared in work from as early as 1900 to as late as 2000 (so pretty much it has to be 20th century). That way we can cover a range of classic sci fi/fantasy, from some of the earliest SF/Fantasy films to some of the cult classic works of the 80s and 90s.
You can submit actors and propaganda from both movies and television! It just must be from or related to SF/Fantasy material.
Please only submit propaganda where the actor is at least 18! This also means if someone's only notable SF/Fantasy role(s) is from before they were 18, they are not eligible for this tournament (even if they continued to act generally as an adult)
Live action roles only; voice roles will not be counted for propaganda/eligibility
Actors who aren't considered primarily Sci-Fi/Fantasy actors must have at least one iconic SF/Fantasy role to qualify for the tournament; however, if they've had other lesser known SF/Fantasy roles as well, you are more than welcome to send in propaganda related to these roles, too!
I might put up an FAQ as well if I get a lot of similar questions/for things that need clarifying. In the mean time: submission deadline is May 5th- so send in your favorite hot sci-fi/fantasy men!
