hey i'm back to clear things up, i was just so quick to get my thoughts out i didn't think to properly explain them

i wanted joel to seem more dramatic was what i meant. yell leave and then turn his head to the side bc he can't look at her go, or smtn like that. idk maybe i'm too hung op on this i'll rewatch the ep tmrw to see if i still feel the same

i liked the funnier in her head line too, but the fake bite was soo cute

ok fedra time this is gonna be a long one lol. i totally got what why ellie was saying those things, it's more so about the "rules" of the show. yk how every piece of media has it's own rules about the world and how the ppl in it are allowed to function. ex if someone other than the main cast shows altruistic intentions they're hiding something (spn), everyone lies for their own benefit to some degree (house md), the people can't rule themselves (got) etc. the rules of tlou (so far at least) are that there can't be an uprising without one firm hand who has clear and realistic end goals which happen to coincide with the morals of the writers. no one firm hand and no realistic goals means the fireflies are idealistic and ineffective. the morals don't coincide with the writers and no clear end goal means kc is brutal and senseless. it's not so much about these specific groups, but what they stand for. further examples for the fact that the people can't rule themselves. (ps jackson has council representatives which is called council communism and again proves the point that in the world of tlou there need to be people who make decisions for the majority)

i totally got the type of crush you were explaining for riley, i was just lacking the feeling like the actress was actually about to blush and then try to hide it and then lovingly look back etc. idk this one is really personal i think

sorry this was so long and i also hope this doesn't come off as me arguing i'm really happy just to be sharing my thought with you <3 excited for next week!

i think it's just up to personal interpretation! maybe i'm just not looking into it hard enough, but i felt that since this is a TV show, they can only focus on a few characters at a time. even if they wanted to show us a positive society without any sort of leader, it would be difficult to follow the story if we were bouncing around through a whole bunch of people, each with their own lives and ideas about the world they live in. it's a cool idea that i would happily watch, but it wouldn't fit with the (mostly) linear story they're trying to tell here. like, it was much easier for them to give maria this sorta-leader role because then she can be used for plot purposes and exposition about jackson. and there's always going to be some element of politics involved in apocalypse stories, but tbh covid has jaded me because i saw so much selfishness and greed arise from that, to the point where i'm burnt out and uninterested in the government systems and i'm much more concerned with the individual stories within. i probably should care more considering this show is so popular and definitely has an impact, but.... idk. maybe someday i'll rewatch and skip all the emotional scenes so i can focus on the rest of the show's message!

i think where we differ is that i like a more subtle type of acting. overacting is much more egregious to me than underacting. if joel had been sobbing or screaming his head off i would've been like.... 🤨 also it's worth pointing out that riley is a bit older than ellie and she's getting ready to do this very adult thing (essentially being deployed for war), so she's not in the same headspace as ellie is for most of the night. ellie is excited that her best friend just came back into her life, she's doing all these incredible fun things, and she's got butterflies in her tummy ;-; but riley knows what this night is really about. she's just trying to give ellie a good time, she's not focused on her own feelings yet. if everything had gone as planned, riley would've walked ellie back to the dorm, left boston, and then probably would break down and feel all her feelings when she's alone. i don't think she ever expected ellie to kiss her or for their relationship to go past friendship, so she didn't even bother getting hopeful about it. it's possible that i'm projecting a lot onto riley because this is exactly how i act when i'm interested in someone lol. sometimes i over-correct so hard that it seems like i don't like you at all, let alone feel romantic feelings towards you 😭

but either way i love talking about tlou in any capacity so please always feel free to share your thoughts!!!

hi !!! since i haven't gotten any requests out this weekend due to schoolwork, i decided to make these short headcanons for the main friend group in scream 1 + mickey altieri. i'll soon start writing all your requests !!!

listen i have the feeling that she's great at cuddles for some reason.

we know for a fact that after her mother she started rejecting sexual touches or advances, but she most definetely loves cuddles.

it would be so natural for her to start cuddling if you two are together.

and she truly does enjoy physical touch, especially as a form of intimacy.

i think physical touch might just be her love language.

How I think COD GHOST Characters Might Do your Skincare (Headcanons)

(Remember This is just what I (My headcanons), (Can be seen as platonic or romantic, I know a little bit about skincare, sorry for it not being a lot) (GN - Reader)

Elias Walker:

- I think he knows a tiny bit, a very tiny bit. It's been over a decade since he last watched his late wife do her skincare routine, how she would gently put it on David and Logan whenever they asked for it as well. He knows his late wifes skincare routine by heart, and keeps a handful of the products she used to love.

- He would smile softly and he would only have one or two moisturizer cream he uses, if you asked he would put it on you.

- Elias would quietly sit next to You, digging his knee gently into the seat as he would smile at you.

- His hands are steady, but gentle, trying to put the cream on your face.

- He would poke your nose, ensuring to leave a little dot behind with a soft chuckle before patting your head gently with his other hand.

- If you have your own skincare products, he would be a little lost, but willing to try and learn. He would look a bit hesitant and lost, the man is In the military and didn't actually use any skincare. But if you teach him, he would listen and do your skincare routine for you.

- After a few times of doing your skincare he would be able to do it without instructions, and would remember it forever.

David Hesh Walker:

- Hesh has nice skin, face masks. He has a couple of decently priced face masks and wouldn't mind sharing.

- Man really does give Logan some of his own, he knows Logan isn't into skincare and has dry skin like he does.

- As long as you never tell the other guys, he would do your facemask for you, he's only really hesitant about them knowing due to the fact it really isn't important, and doesn't matter with his work.

- He's a bit awkward, trying to get the face mask on you perfectly, bonking your face gently with his hand to press it down.

- I think he has dry skin, just like his father and Logan, he has moisturizer as well.

- He would listen to you speak or move about whatever, and ends up trying to shut you up because your face mask kept scrunching up.

- If You keep talking or shifting, his hand just firmly goes over your mouth and face mask, he would give a smile that looks a bit sarcastic.

- If you know about skincare, he has a bit of a interest on it, having had listened and got his own done with his mother when he was young, but having had never really bothered to listen fully to what she was talking about as he was a child, but now skin care was a thing he had an interest In due to her, something to stay connected.

- If you don't know about skincare, he would be willing to learn on his own, as he likes the topic and is interested in learning but just never had the time due to his military work, and taking care of Logan and Riley.

Logan Walker:

-Logan has no clue whats going on, If you ask him to do your skincare for him. He would ponder if you had any skincare items he could use, tilting his head a bit as he would glance about.

- If not he would take a few Hesh gave him and apply them on both of you if he had time to spare.

- Logan would sit next to you quietly, his eyes glancing at you if you are talking, he would listen to every word.

- If you do have any skincare items, you would have to instruction him on what to do, he would follow the instructions carefully

- Would genuinely try his best to be gentle, making sure not to apply to much pressure into what he's doing

- He doesn't mind learning about skincare, probably asks Hesh for recommendations on what he should do, what he should buy.. what would be greatest for your skin and comfort.

- If you are knowledgeable about skin care, he's all ears, willing to learn.. Probably will do your skincare once he learns, if you are too lazy to do it or incapable of doing it whenever he has time.

Keegan Russ:

- He honestly doesn't care much for skincare, but somehow does have good skin. So he doesn't exactly know or care to know anything.

- You ask? He'll laugh at you, but if you're serious? He'll switch up a bit depending on your relationship.

- He doesn't know You well? Fuck no, he's not doing it, he'll laugh in your face while walking away.

- If you are closer, he'll do it.. but at a cost, are you willing to buy him a round of drinks? Depending on how expensive those drinks are is the effort hes putting in..

- If he's feeling nice, he'll do it for cheaper, would pinch you while doing it, or bonk your head while applying cream to your face just to ensure to disturb your peace a tiny bit.

- “The fuck is this?” Keegan would grumble if you have alot of skincare products, not sure how to use or do with them all. If you do use alot, he's watching with a what face the whole time, glancing up from his phone with an raised eyebrow before letting you do whatever ya want. isn't his buisness.

- If you begged Keegan to do your skincare routine with you, he would.. begrudgingly. He isn't putting on a headband, would push Your hand away every few minutes.. makes it rough for the both of you to actually get this done.

- If you also have no idea about skincare or a basic skincare routine, great, less work for Keegan.

-Keegan doesn't like to get to close, he'll sit near you but he'll keep his distance.

- If you do ask him to buy you skincare products? He is indeed good at that, he's very observant and good at seeing what he thinks you would like or wouldn't like. Or what would be good for your skin or bad for It.

Merrick:

- He uses face mask and face creams when he has time away from work. One of his exes (or someone he knows) definitely got him into skincare and hasn't looked back since. He also takes care of his beard, ensuring that he does look good despite his military career.

- He knows alot about skincare, but would never really let anyone know this. He'll go all in if no one else is around, you want him to wear a headband? Bet, you want to do his skincare? Great. You want him to do yours? Amazing. No fragile masculinity with this man.

- Depending on your relationship, he will give less effort or more effort.

- You're not that close and you don't know much about skincare? He won't go all in, he'll help you out if you need it, will teach you about skincare but wouldn't do it for you.

- If you are close and don't know much about skincare, he would gently do it for you. Being close friends or having a close relationship, he wouldn't mind taking time out of his day to teach you a tiny bit.

- If you two both know alot about skincare, he's willing to chat about it, he wouldn't be that excited but wouldn't mind actually talking about different products and what you like or don't like. He's pretty basic, having had stuck with the same routine since he first started.

Kick:

- He doesn't know much about skincare, but if you two have a decent relationship, he would be willing to do your skincare quietly.

- If you trust him to buy anything? He accidentally buys charcoal masks and nothing else.

- He uses it on himself and you and accidentally hurts himself, grimacing as he pulls it off.

- Never makes the same mistake twice.

- Kick honestly doesn't have a clue what's going on, but if you do have a routine, he'll stick to that and follow what you say to do, after he does it once, he will remember it.

- If you ask for him to do skincare routines togeather, sure..? He already memorized how to do yours (if you have one, or the one you two made together) and sorta just makes it his own routine after time.

- He starts off a but hesitant when doing skincare but after a while he does get good at it, but never buys products that isn’t recommended to him by someone he knows.

So, the youngest Riley sibling huh? Well be prepared. It is overprotection central.

Dewey is a cop, so of course he's going to want to make sure his youngest sibling is safe and sound. You can expect tons of calls from him whenever you're out past 8pm, even if you're with your friends or Tatum.

If you dont pick up and you're with Tatum he will spam call her. She ignores him until it becomes so damn annoying she's forced to pick up, otherwise she's afraid he'll just come looking for you guys.

You've known Sidney almost as long as Tatum has. The minute Tate and Sid got close, she'd bring her around all the time.

Sidney thinks you're the absolute sweetest. She's always nice to you, though she isn't exactly sure on how to interact with you if you're like muuuch younger.

If you're just a bit younger than Tatum she gets along with you well.

Tatum treats you a lot like she treats Dewey. She's kinda that mean-ish big sister who's always like "Moooom, Y/N's being annoying!" or calling you mean nicknames.

But it's just that typical American sibling type of relationship where she acts all annoyed or whatever, but she's absolutely always on your side if someone ever messes with you.

Honestly, despite the fact Tatum has a very headstrong, straightforward image, I see her as being almost unable to hold a grudge for long. She tries, but she just cant help forgive people she loves pretty easily.

Dewey is absolutely the kind of big brother to always defend you from the rest of the family. He's kinda always in your court, especially when you and Tatum or your mom fight.

You eventually meet Stu, and he treats you one of two ways.

He either likes you and he kinda treats you like a little sis/bro. Gives you noogies, flicks your forehead, and is almost always obnoxious to you.

Or he doesn't like you and makes a lot of mean-spirited jokes towards you, jokingly trips you when you walk by so you stumble, and overall talks about how much hotter your sister is than you.

Either way, unless you're already friends with Stu, your interactions with him are usually pretty limited, as Tatum prefers to not have her family around much when she's around Stu.

Sidney always invites you to go out with her and Tatum, and Tatum is usually up for it as long as you don't get annoying during shopping trips or whatever.

Since you're younger than Tatum, you have a different friend group from hers. You really only talk to Randy, Billy, and Stu in passing unless you make an effort of trying to befriend them.

If you're just a few months younger than Tatum but in the same year, they'll probably be cool with you hanging with them if you become integrated into the group

if you're a year younger though, they'll def pull that "Ew a junior, sophomore/freshman." shit seniors tend to do.

You'll definitely be compared to Tatum, but fear not bc whether you're also popular or unpopular doesn't matter. Tatum absolutely makes sure no one bullies you.

Dewey will always offer to come pick you up from school if you're a lot younger than Tatum. He comes in his cop car and sometimes will even flash the colors/siren of his cop car for a sec just to embarrass you a lil lol.

If you make it a habit of going to Tatum's practices to support her? She doesn't admit it, but it means a lot to her. Your parents and Dewey are usually too busy with work to come to them.

You would be the first and only person Tatum confesses to about her bisexuality and her love for Sid before she dies.

You had always wondered why Tatum had two beds in her room. You only realized after she confessed to you why: Sidney was over so often, and they slept in bed together far too many times for your parents to be okay with it. The final push was when they discovered them holding one another in their sleep in middle school. You remember the ensuing fight afterwards, you were just too young or too out of the loop to realize what it was about. Now it makes your heart clench.

Dewey latches onto you after Tatum passes. He never lets you leave his sight for the first few years after her death.

It's rare...but you two will talk about Tatum while sitting in her room sometimes. The room that your parents wanted cleaned out but you and Dewey refused because it was the only memory of Tatum you had left.

You destroyed every picture you could find of Stu in her room though. You now hated him with every fibre of your being, and if you and him had a good relationship it hurt all the more. You really though he was a nice albeit goofy guy. Not a psycho who decided to go on a killing streak with his best friend.

You re-evaluate every interaction you had with him, thinking about what signs you could've seen. You couldn't think of any.

If you two had a strained relationship though, you start blaming yourself for not warning Tatum sooner that he was an absolute dickbag.

Dewey becomes your support system. You feel bad about leaning on him bc you feel you should also let him lean on you. But he insists on you relying on him. You think it's because he thinks its his way of not being there for Tatum when she needed him that night.

Sidney and you become closer after what happened. You had reached out to her for some mental and emotional support, and found out you had a lot more in common than you thought. You stay in touch with her throughout the years, and maybe even help her here and there.

In a surprising twist, you and Randy's sister Martha also become close after the events of Scream 2. You reach out to her the very minute news of Randy's death reaches you through Dewey, determined to do everything in your power to help her though it. You know what it's like to lose your older sibling, and unlike you, Marth had no other siblings to turn to. You eventually become best friends, and are known to Mindy and Chad as Aunt/Uncle Y/N in you two's later years.

You and Dewey never drift apart as siblings. You're there for his everything. His trip to Windsor to help Sid. His marriage to Gale. His promotion to sheriff. The birth of his first child. And he is likewise there for yours.

cinnamon (part 1)

{ harry styles x fem!reader }

she was definitely a force not to be reckon with—at least, that’s what everybody thought when they first encountered her. riley was someone who’s appearance perfectly fit the description of a rebellion, or in modern day terms, a badass. she constantly sports her trusty leather jacket every single day, dark black ripped jeans, black doc martens, and her dark shades to top it all off. it all goes kindly with her motorcycle to rides daily—always defying the constant badgering of fragile men telling her “motorcycles aren’t for little sweethearts like you.”

well, riley’s not a little sweetheart. she’s riley.

it’s just about seven o’clock in the evening when she pulls into her local bar, as grungy looking as her, after a long day with her opinionated mother who had no problem complaining about her daughter’s lack of “suitable womanly clothing.” riley had definitely regretted her decision in spending the day with the woman who judged her expression despite her being nearly 22 years old already and wasn’t planning on changing just yet.

she enters the bar, the thick layer of smoke in the room not even phasing her as she takes her typical seat at the bar. darla, a bartender and good friend of hers, chuckles at riley’s sour expression as she makes her way over to her. “tough day, doll?”

she sighed at the blue-haired woman. “you don’t know the half of it.”

darla nods. “the usual?”

“yeah, thanks.”

riley isn’t much of a talker. she hates feeling like she’s burdening other people with her problems that seem so miniscule compared to others. as a matter of fact, she doesn’t have that many friends in her life, whether it be her resting bitch face that turns them away or that she chooses not to have them in her life. she’d much prefer to be a lone wolf, although sometimes... her aloofness can be quite lonely sometimes (not that she would dare to admit that).

darla slides a shot glass of cinnamon whiskey mixed with rum chata, a drink that initially burns your throat until you get used to the taste eventually. riley likes to think that that’s how the few people she currently has in her life see her, and why they choose to stay. though. she doesn’t really think she could ever be just as addictive as cinnamon.

“ya come here often?” an unfamiliar, masculine voice asks.

riley turns her head to find a man sitting one stool away from hers at the bar. he’s a lot more attractive than the other handful of men who drunkenly try to flirt with her; brown soft curly locks adorning the top of his head, bright eyes (color indistinguishable due to the lighting of the bar), a pearly white side-smile as if to start a genuine conversation with a stranger, and very noticeable dimples. and as handsome as he was, she dismissed her swooning thoughts, entirely disinterested in the thought of ever dating someone.

“yeah,” she vaguely answers, hoping that he would quickly give up on her. if she were as confident as she looked, she’d be a lot more willing to strike up a conversation with him... perhaps even take him home.

“m’new in town,” he continued to speak, and it was then she detected a british accent in his low voice. “heard this was one of the best places in town. any drink you’d suggest?”

she shrugged.

the stranger chuckled, not seeming offended by her lack of response. “well, whatcha got there?”

“um... fireball mixed with rum chata,” riley murmured, feeling idiotic for the wall her face fills with warmth when he looks at her.

he glances towards darla, who was slyly eavesdropping in on the exchange. “i’ll have what she’s having.”

when darla walks away, he looks over to riley again, and asks sincerely, “m’not bothering you, am i? ‘cause if i am, i’ll leave you alone.”

he’s looking at her intently, awaiting a response, and she just didn’t have the heart to lie and tell him that he was bothering her, because quite frankly, he was doing the opposite of that. she mustered up a small smile and looked directly at him back, assuring him, “you’re not bothering me.”

he smiled brightly. “okay, good... now, d’you think it’s possible for me to get your name?”

“riley,” she answered, seemingly enchanted by the way his lips moved.

“riley,” he repeated, and she secretly liked the way her name rolled off his tongue. honestly, she could listen to him speak for hours. “well, riley, my name’s harry, and i was thinking we should play a little game.”

her heart thudded in her chest, which she ignored. she raised a brow in curiosity. “a game?”

harry nodded, just as darla passed him a shot glass filled with riley’s suggested concoction. “i’m not much of a drinker, but if i like this, then let’s say i’ll come back around next time you’re around and we’ll get to know each other a little more.”

what a strange bet, she cannot help but think. however, it is a seemingly innocent bet, though she can’t help but know that she’d be quite disappointed if he didn’t like the drink. then again, they just met, and him never coming back would assure her of her preferred lifestyle of being the lone wolf. she really doesn’t have much to lose, does she?

“okay,” she agreed, watching as he lifted the glass to his lips. “i’ve gotta warn you, though, it’s pretty strong-”

he downed it before she could finish her sentence. she watched in amazement, barely a wince on his face or a sign that he despised it. he took it like it was nothing, for someone who says they don’t drink much. or had he lied to make her think there was a chance they’d never see each other again? harry doesn’t say anything; he sets down the shot glass and stands up, causing her stomach to plummet. he gets down from his seat, acting as though he’s about to make a stride towards the door. however, he simply stops right next to her, and leans down to utter in her ear.

“you’re lucky i like cinnamon. see you next time, love,” he hums, pulling slightly away from her with a smirk. he glances at her again and says, “oh, and i like your leather jacket.”

then he walks away and exits the bar, leaving riley completely stunned.

Hc: You work in a store they frequent, meet them that way, and feelings develop. How each character would show you that they care about you/ask you on a date after getting to know them.

Warning: one small mention of sex. and in one hc the store is a butchers

I thought this would be fun, maybe a little different than my usual. You can request some people that aren’t on here if you like. Or a different job or scenario where you would meet them.💜

Spike:

- you work at a 24 hour store, he comes in at weird times of the night

- You catch Spike stealing and take pity on him, letting it slide (he looks a bit gaunt, maybe he’s not eating properly)

- There’s no cameras the place you work is crappy so you maintain eye contact and just nod at him, allowing him to take whatever it is he’s concealed under his leather duster

- He’d start to come in and either blatantly steal so you would catch him and talk to him or buy lots of stuff he didn’t need with money he had ‘borrowed’ from one of the scoobies

- He talks a lot and appears to be trying to impress you, it makes you smile

- But also he’s very attentive to you and asks you things about yourself, wanting to learn everything he can

- He starts waiting for you, watching through the glass, going through whole packs of cigarettes making sure you’re okay and no customers are being nasty

- He will come in and threaten to drain them dry if they say one more horrible thing to you, it’s happened twice

- He follows you home before eventually offering to walk with you

- He’ll probably bottle all of his feelings up for a long time, professing his love in a very heartfelt speech and crashing his lips to yours before actually asking you on a date

Angel:

(I’m so sorry if you don’t eat meat)

- You work at the butchers and Angel used to come in all the time really early before the sun rose

- You were embarrassed such an attractive man saw you in your overalls smelling of raw meat

- Too embarrassed to ask yourself why he wanted so much animal blood

- You soon had his regular order ready and waiting for him, he always seemed to be in a rush. This meant there was a little time for you to talk because he already had his order

- You instigated, asking him lots of questions with you getting one word answers (you think he’s not interested and stop)

- But he’s just trying to keep his distance, he knows what happens when he gets too involved. Things seem to go wrong

- He eventually bumps into you after work one evening, not able to stay away completely

- You work long hours so he’s trying to make sure you’re getting home okay by hanging back in the shadows

- Eventually starts to offer to walk you and you happily agree, chatting nonstop about the delivery or what you were taught that day about slicing into something

- He enjoys just hearing you talk, not able to help smiling at the way you animatedly recount your day to him, eventually one day he’ll offer for you to visit his place making a date out of it

Xander:

- you probably work with him, one of the many jobs he took on after high school

- you both work at a pizza place, he delivers you make the orders

- he acts really weird around you at first, dropping things and stumbling over his words when he speaks to you

- he cracks some childish jokes but you laugh along with him, finding him sweet

- he grins wide when you start to joke back, pulling funny faces behind the manager’s back when it’s turned

- He’ll be thinking of asking you on a date for a really long time, probably since he first met you

- He’s nervous and he doesn’t want you laughing in his face, he probably doesn’t think he has a shot with someone as great as you

- But he just rushes out and says it one night when you’re both grabbing your jackets to leave

- You smile, scan his face to check he’s joking, then nod and say you’d love to

- You go to the Bronze, have a contest to see who can catch the most peanuts in your mouth (if you’re allergic, it’s some other competition, maybe who can finish their drink the fastest)

- He might let you win and then just lean straight in and kiss you when you celebrate

Buffy:

- Buffy comes into the late night store you work at for gum or snacks (something she can carry while she patrols) she recognises you as her regular cashier after a few months.

- I feel like she has a lot on her plate, forgive her for not noticing you straight away

- She’s probs trying to get over someone atm or struggling to trust after her last relationship

- You’re extra friendly with her and she realises after talking it over with Willow that you were actually flirting

- Realises the brief interaction she gets with you makes her feel happy. Real happy and she doesn’t have to be responsible for anyone but herself when she’s chatting away with you

- Starts to ask you questions about yourself enjoying your company. Every time without fail she asks when you get off work, she’s concerned you’re always walking home in the dark

- starts to loop back past your store when she’s on patrol, pretending she was still in the area when you got off

- offering to walk you home a lot, accidentally dropping a pile of weapons once and having to pretend she was doing a woodworking class

- she eventually asks you on a date, encouraged by her friends to make the first move, and you’ll go to the Bronze, dancing and laughing the whole time

Faith:

- you work at the convenience store near the Mayor’s office

- She comes in on her way back to her crappy motel

- she feels a bit conflicted about sneaking around behind Buffy’s back but your bright smile to greet her almost makes her forget

- you caught her eye pretty much the first time she saw you waiting by the register

- she usually asks for some smokes and started to offer to share one with you on your break

- if you smoke, you say yes, if you don’t you say you’ll still come outside with her on your break to keep her company

- you’ll mostly talk with her chipping in at first and then she finds out how good it is to vent to someone

- your break’s over but you tell her you don’t want her to be on her own struggling through her thoughts

- you ask if she can wait, but she doesn’t really do waiting around

- she does give you the address to the motel she’s staying at though and she’ll smoke every hour until she sees you walking

- this is your first date, the one you count as your first date anyway

- you spend the whole night talking, sometimes even laughing. You make her feel like a person, not just a Slayer

Cordy:

- you work at the mall. Specifically a boutique or somewhere Cordy regularly visits

- she’s kind to you but a bit abrupt if you start talking about anything that isn’t a sale

- her dad no longer has any money and she’s a struggling actress after hs and you overhear her phone conversation about how hard everything is

- she wants this pretty dress that you know she’d look beautiful in

- you offer her your employee discount, telling her to keep it quiet

- after that, she specifically requests you and after her fifth visit realises she has been coming and looking forward to seeing you more than the dresses

- this means she’s in deep

- she won’t beat around the bush, she’ll ask you if you won’t ask her

- “Bronze. 8pm” with a little wink, hauling her shopping bags with her before leaving

- You have a great time and you meet up again she does little fashion shows for you before you go out, liking your eye for fashion and asks you to help her choose outfits for your dates

- She’ll want to go public places for dates to show off your relationship

Giles:

- Book store (obviously)

- You’re the most knowledgeable about his particular interest (cough, demons, cough) and he is attracted straight away to your apparent intelligence

- You already know about demons and everything, having studied it extensively as well as running into a vampire late one night and managing to get away unscathed

- He marvelled at this and you tell it so casually, explaining that you just did what the books told you and put it in practice

- He’s lonely really, always hanging around people a lot younger that don’t take him as seriously as he takes himself, but you do

- You think he’s fun to be around, he probably doesn’t wait too long, asking you for a drink the first or second time he meets you.

- He knows life’s too short, especially in Sunnydale

- You appreciate his dry humour and the way he isn’t just bookish, he has a lot of really great qualities

- You haven’t seen him as Ripper, but you know it’s there. He’s open with you and he’ll tell you about his past. He believes in trust

- You go on a lot of dates after that first drink, you even get introduced to the Scoobies and become a kind of parent figure too

Riley Finn:

- you bag his groceries at the supermarket.

- He’s always polite, makes you feel like a human being not just somebody serving him

- Always chats about the weather or something generic that won’t compromise his job, but he likes talking to you

- He occasionally makes a comment to make you smile because seeing your real smile, not the one you put on for customers, is so much sweeter

- He’ll probably come in regularly, same time, same day every week for his shopping now (bc you’re there)

- Bumps into you accidentally while you’re stocking a shelf and helps you pick everything up, smiling at the way you get a little flustered, insisting it was his fault not yours

- He’ll probably ask you if you’ve ever heard of the Bronze, which of course you have because that’s the only half-decent place in town

- Says he’d really like to see you there, like maybe tonight, so you go and have a really great time

- He says he doesn’t want to wait to see you again, but he’s very respectful will probably give you his number so that you can call him first and you don’t feel pressured into a second date or anything

Willow:

- You work at a magic shop

- you help her find the ingredients to a spell she’s been itching to try and give her little tips

- She really likes that you know lots about magic and what ingredient you could swap out for a better result

- You’ll grow close, she’ll pop in and tell you how well/badly the latest spells went

- She’ll tell stories in her characteristic way and you’ll smile at how cute she is and her fun vocabulary you’ll find yourself picking up

- You’ll offer to meet her and help her out with some spells

- She’ll bounce off the walls in excitement

- Probably spend the whole day making sure her dorm room is ‘just right’ for you to see and that she’s made sure about ten times that Buffy is definitely going to be out

- You’ll do the spell, it’ll be a big success because working together shows you that you have this amazing connection

- Then you’ll be talking and sharing loads for hours

- She’ll take you to the Bronze if it’s not too late, if it’s too late she’ll ask what you’re doing at the weekend and invite you then

Tara:

- Also at a magic shop. Probably specifically the Magic Box, after Giles takes it on

- You’re a Scooby and Tara’s moved to Sunnydale for college. She wanted to check out the magic box straight away

- You catch each other’s eye and she looks a little shy

- Starts to stutter when you make conversation, but you’re patient with her, giving her time to finish her words that have become jumbled in your presence.

- She asks for help with finding something only when she absolutely has to, but you’re always kind with her when she does and she smiles so bright when she finds what she’s looking for, scrunching her mouth to the side a little when she looks back at you

- You start to recommend places in Sunnydale for her to check out, trying to gauge if she would be into you or not. You eventually offer to take her and show her around and she nods excitedly

- You both have a really great time and she makes you feel special. She talks a lot more now she’s comfortable with you

- you suggest you could try some magic together, only if she wanted

- She does, you meet up a lot and you date and magically create a cat to own together

- You both have a long, happy life together

Anya:

- You work in the magic box with her. I feel like you both didn’t get on at first

- you didn’t understand her and she felt misunderstood, making her snappy and blunt with you

best friends: bree & riley.

how long have they been friends? they’ve been friends since high school.

how did they meet? they met in homeroom on the first day of the spring semester: she was the new girl and he was one of three out kids in their high school, who sort of became a beacon for wayward weird kids. they didn’t hit it off, per say, but along with homeroom, they had like three other classes, including art, together and he was just persistent enough that he eventually broke through.

favorite things to do together? everything baby <3 they’re very aesthetically driven. so they love putting on their little outfits just to go and to starbucks then sit outside somewhere. they love going to see live music, they love having little crafting/claymaking parties. they like being the bitchiest people at the group hang, who just sit in the corner and talk shit on this weeks episode of seth and rory.

worst fight that they’ve ever had? the worst fight they’ve ever had was luckily early on. it was bree’s classic sabotaging of a relationship when she felt it getting too intense, like she would miss him if he left, and riley didn’t get that, he just thought it was weird that she was being a bitch all of a sudden. mama didn’t raise a quitter though so i feel like instead of just accepting that she didn’t like him now he pressed her on it and they actually fought it out and got to a place that would lead to them being closer than ever.

what are their relationships like with each other’s siblings? other family members? riley’s older sister likes bree a lot. she thinks that her and riley are little weirdos, but in a loving way where she’s glad he has her, and i’d say that’s the attitude his family at large has. bree may not be as keen on them because they’re a little withholding and riley has done his fair share of complaining about that, but they get along decent enough. riley and shiloh get along pretty well, but riley and michaela have a bit of a harder time ( classic mlm wlw hostility. they don’t really have beef their personalities just don’t mesh. they would learn to play nice [or at least be fun catty and not actively annoying to each other] with time ). i think her parents would like him too he presents very much like a nice kid that just adores bree.

are their zodiac signs compatible? tell me bree’s sign and i’ll edit this riley is a pisces

who stays up latest? who wakes up earliest? bree stays up latest, riley simply loves to sleep. i don’t think either of them are especially early risers, but i think if i had to say i’d still say bree wakes up a little earlier. she’s just built different.

what do they like and dislike about one another the most? riley likes that bree is a fun and creative person. he loves her sense of humor and he loves her Strength. what he dislikes the most is how stubborn and closed off she can be, he’s just very not that and thinks she could stand to let go and let god a little more and let herself believe in people. bree loves that riley’s fun and creative like her and gets her sense of humor. she likes that he’s more open and flexible than her and how reliable he is, she can just say the word and he’ll clear his schedule to hang with her. she dislikes his expectations of the world: he knows how he likes to live and has a hard time wrapping his head around why she may not want that, and while he isn’t forceful about it, it’s annoying all the same.

who’s most likely to talk about the other behind their back? riley. he has definite clear boundaries and would never talk about her maliciously behind her back. but he’s the type that if she was getting on his nerves he’d probably flippantly say something about it to someone, but then also get immediately defensive if they said literally anything in reply because wait that’s my bestie only i can say that stuff.....

who has dated, or is more likely to date someone that the other hates? how do/did they reconcile? riley again <3 i think he just dates more people and is less discerning about it, bree is more selective about who she’d like to be around and would be more likely to just not vibe with his partner. but they’re kind of in agreeance that he’s gonna do what he’s going to do and that not a lot of these fools last long so give it two weeks and he’ll probably talking shit on them with her

do they have sleepovers? yes always. if they’re hanging outand it gets late they just sleep over they’ve done it a million times they’re no strangers to bed sharing and getting all cuddled up it’s simply a typical saturday at this point. and like i said i do headcanon that while they were dating and now while they’re broken up this rule still stood at bree and stephen’s place like sorry king riley’s sleeping over you get it <3 and frankly stephen works a lot of nights anyway so it’s more of just him peeking into the room when he gets home and watching lovingly as another man spoons his gf makes him feel less guilty for not being there

have they seen each other naked? bree’s for sure seen riley naked because he doesn’t see that as like something to be bashful about. riley’s maybe seen bree in like undergarments but not full naked not because she has a problem with him specifically seeing her but because she’s more guarded about that in general

who’s better at giving gifts? i think they would both be amazing. maybe bree just because i feel like women inherently have an upper hand on gift giving which might be sexist but it’s my truth.

do they think they’ll stay best friends forever? riley definitely does and literally has for years. bree i think does as much as she can: not to sound like a broken record but she’s generally more cynical, and would be more hesitant to let herself believe that, but i think she wants to at least....

TDB Rewatch: The New York Arc

I was originally going to do a post for each episode - but you know what? I think I’ve talked about this particular part of the series more than any other part - and even though it’s been seven weeks since I’ve even seen an episode of Glee (!!) - I’m not entirely sure I have anything new to say about these episodes, so here we go with one big post for you.

New New York

Is this still the best episode of the series? Yes - I think it is. The entire episode is completely watchable, the music is great, the Klaine stuff is great, everyone gets something interesting to do, Rachel is interesting again, Mercedes re-joins the cast, and even Artie has some funny lines. This episode almost feels like a pilot of a spin-off series, and I’m a little sad we didn’t get to see more than this arc, because these characters still seem fresh and interesting - and this episode is clearly all setting up the status quo for living in New York.

I’ve seen the episode so many times now that this one flew by, and while I’m always here for the amazing Klaine stuff - the nice thing is that watching the episode as a whole, I’m not bored with any of it. I have no new meta to add to the piles of things I’ve already written and said on the podcast, but I’m glad this episode remains enjoyable even after a million rewatches.

Btw - I still say they should have asked Adam Lambert to be a regular - he adds so much and I’m sad that this is his last appearance on the show.

Also - I can tell it’s been a while since I’ve watched the show - Chris and Darren are really pretty. Just thought I should remind you ;)

Bash

So, while Opening Night might be my least favorite of the bunch, but I think as an episode Bash might be the weakest? And actually - I think it might have been better if the Kurt being bashed story line was a) more prominently in the episode or b) not in it at all. It feels like it’s almost an after thought to Rachel’s (absurd) story - and there’s such a rich story with Kurt (and Blaine) that feels wholly untapped because it’s more about Rachel Berry and her feelings. :P I do like the little bits of it that we did get, Kurt and Blaine are superb as they are in all of these episodes. And I mean - it’s nice that Rachel gets yelled at twice for being a moron - even if the whole thing doesn’t hold together very well.

Meanwhile, I’m not sure how much I have to say about Sam and Mercedes - I enjoy them as a couple, though I can’t say that I’m riveted by their story line. It is nice, though that Amber Riley gets a chance to shine since she’s been away from the show for so long. I think the awkwardest thing about this episode, (besides Sam’s impressions) is the fact that that the two story lines don’t mesh well, and it feels like the episode starts off as one thing then pivots and does something else entirely in the second half.

That said - the music is great, as always, everyone sounds really beautiful on all the Soundheim things. And while I didn’t need two Mercedes solos - she is lovely as always.

Tested

Who knew Artie having an STD would be such a fun episode. Honestly, I think this is the best episode the show does about sex. Yes, even over The First Time (even if I like TFT just a smidge more). Each of the characters are in a unique situation, and come at sex in a different way - and it’s actually pretty cool the way the show handles it. They’re not usually great with these kind of topics, but I really have no complaints about how they handled anything in this episode. I especially like the fact that a) Mercedes gets to choose how she wants to deal with sex and b) they let Mercedes and Rachel be actual girl friends when it comes to a topic - again something the show doesn’t always handle the best. Yes, for all the sex positive conversations in this episode.

Also, the ‘I’m slut shaming you’ scene might be one of the funniest things the show ever did.

The only one weighing this one down, and why it isn’t passing NNY by on my favorites list - is that the music just isn’t good. I mean, all the songs fit the episode fine, and the performances are great, I just don’t like any of the songs.

Also - Kurt is super extra in this episode - which really reinforces my headcanon that Kurt not getting regular sexy times is super grumpy.

Anyway, I give kudos to the show for doing an episode that has some actual layers to it in all of its plot lines. Usually, Glee’s pretty anivilish about everything, but there’s some actual nuance in this story - good job show. It’s nice to be not spoon fed everything all the time.

Opening Night

Well... This remains the worst of the NYC Arc - and really, only because the stupid and a bit convoluted Sue plot. Rachel’s arc is a bit silly too (really - I roll my eyes at the whole ‘oh no NYT reporter’ bit, especially when the dude just waxes praise on her like everyone else on the show) - but are some legitimately entertaining things going on during the Rachel side of things. And I dare say the episode is a little underrated? There are some good jokes and nice music, and it is exactly what you’d expect from Rachel’s first night (even if I still think Funny Girl should have been placed at the end of the show) and Rachel has been rather held back and used well during the NYC Arc so I don’t mind her spot light here.

But man, the Sue stuff is tedious. I kind of forget Will is apart of it (and did logic take some time off again? Because the Emma having a baby thing is... let’s not get into it). Sue actually has already arrived at her season 6 self - and even some of the early sequences with her kids aren’t bad, but there are really two scenes that drag this entire episode way, way down -- the date with Mario the restaurant guy, and the last five minutes with Mario the restaurant guy. Oh my god - why is this the only thing they could think of to do with Sue? I mean - everything about this plot line screams contractual obligation - needing to give Jane Lynch one episode during this 7. But could they really not think of anything more interesting for her to do?? DId she really need a date so she and Rachel could sing that song together?? Ug - it is really frustrating that this takes up a third of the episode. What a waste.

But, I mean, as a whole, it’s not terrible in the way the worst of Glee is - and really, everything on the Rachel side (mostly) works for me. It’s a good thing all that Sue/Mario stuff is pretty easily skipped.

The Back-Up Plan

Hey! Another solid episode! It’s weird - the focusing only three story line lets the episode breathe - a lot - to the point it seems strange, lol. But anyway...

First there’s Rachel’s story - which I know people were annoyed that Rachel bails a month into Funny Girl, but idk - this seems like Rachel. And this is the one and really only time she faces serious consequences for her actions. It’s refreshing really. Also - Jim Rash is a delight, and that audition scene is priceless.

Meanwhile - Mercedes and Santana have a great story that I kind of wish there was more of. Santana’s been gone for most of the arc so far, but I don’t mind her coming back - she’s rather civil and low key during these last few episodes, and it’s a bit refreshing, honestly. Anyway - I like that pop business is treated with a little more realism than Broadway, as D’Shawn (Mercedes’s producer) seems to tell it like is. But more so, I feel like there’s a genuine friendship between Mercedes and Santana and that’s pretty refreshing, too.

And then there’s the June story line. You know what? I really do not like June. Sorry. And I find it a little creepy she wants to mold Blaine into something of her own making. I’m also... not sure what the purpose of this entire story was? Ah well... At least we get some really lovely Klaine moments out of the whole thing.

Bonus - the music in this episode is all pretty solid.

Old Dog, New Tricks

You guys ever notice Artie’s eating dog biscuits in this? Weird things you notice when you watch the whole episode. Anyway...

Hey - it’s that episode that Chris wrote. And yeah, it’s a little awkward - in a - you can tell this is a new writer for TV kinda way not in a - this sucks kind of way. I really wish Chris had stuck with TV writing, I think he showed some real promise, and writing for other shows would have been great experience. Ah well. It all just makes me miss Chris actually doing things that are not related to middle school fantasy novels.

So, for the record, if you guys ever wonder who Chris is, seemingly, frustrated with? Watch this episode - and how he writes Rachel. She’s been almost acting human in the rest of this arc, and in this episode, she really is back to being really awful. At least multiple people get to tell her off again - it’s, again, refreshing. How many times as she been told off during this arc? Not enough, but it’s been kind of nice when you string them all together.

Anyway - this episode, as you’ve probably heard me say before, works pretty well. Santana as a publicity is brilliant (and perhaps the best aspect of Chris’s writing), Sam and Mercedes relationship issues are handled rather maturely, Chris as Peter Pan is incredibly inspired, and the music is pretty solid (even if it’s not my personal favorite). There’s even a sweet Klaine scene (though - I still maintain it was wise not to have Chris write too much Blaine). The only thing that really doesn’t work to for me, and maybe we’re far enough away that I can say this honestly without feeling like there will be too much repercussion - I don’t think June Squibb is very good. I mean, yeah - part of it is the awkwardness of the story itself. But - Maggie just doesn’t work for me. Sorry :(

The Untitled Rachel Berry Project

I know a lot of people say that this episode feels like a finale for them. And I kind of get that, I do. But, honestly, it feels more like a chapter break. This episode is incredibly bittersweet - as if it knows (and it does) what’s coming in season 6. But, also, it’s the ending of a show I kind of wish we had much longer, and I guess it feels a little sad to get to the end.

The episode itself is solid - there are only really three plot lines here, and they all work pretty well. The music might be the weakest element (I only like about half the songs in this one) but it’s got comedy and drama and warmth and sadness, and does make for a great season finale. (It’s the best season finale the show did -- really, it is.) And I guess - everyone ends up where they’re supposed to end up, and it works for me.

I don’t really have a lot to say about it, or at least anything new to say. It’s good, it’s solid, and while I’m super tired of watching TV all day, it’s a great ending to a really good chunk of TV.

Final Thoughts:

I am a little saddened that we didn’t get those two episodes that were taken from the season. I feel like another couple of beats in the story lines would have worked wonders, and of course, selfishly, we’d have a little more of my favorite part of the story.

Interestingly, though, I don’t know if this makes any sense - but I got the feeling the writers were always more comfortable writing stuff back at McKinley. Like - they did this because they had the time, but they wouldn’t have been able to sustain an entire season writing it. I know we could all come up with great stories, but I think it’s better that they were wrapping things up at this point, because the show feels like it’s headed towards an ending.

I thought I’d get more insight about things watching them all in one sitting - but I’m not sure I did. I think the show almost works better as a week to week so you can sit with each episode. I think when strung together the arcs don’t seem as fluid as we have them in our heads now that we’ve spent years talking about each episode individually.

Weirdly - the music of this arc is really hit and miss for me. It’s interesting, to me, that a lot of times when the story is stronger, the music isn’t always as good. A lot of other times, it’s vice versa. The really, really good episodes can balance the two.

I feel bad for Kevin McHale - who really had nothing to do other than be a giant STD.

That said - one of the most refreshing things about this arc was the lack of toxic masculinity crap, as well as some of the best writing for the women ever on the show.

I enjoyed the little bit of Santana and Brittany that we got - this was, like, the prefect amount of them.

One of the downsides of everyone being paired off is that we didn’t get to see interesting mixed-up pairs - one of the draw backs of the show having such little time in New York.

One thing that stood out to me, and god I hope I don’t get too much hate for this, is that Mercedes and Sam don’t really work... at least at this point. Seeing the entire arc all together, it’s very apparent that while I don’t doubt how much they care for each other, they’re definitely in two different places in their lives. And while I applaud the maturity that the relationship was handled with, it’s clear that they’re not ready to be in a long term relationship (yet).

Rachel! Was bearable for most of the arc. Yeah - there are still a lot of special snowflake Rachel moments. But Lea Michele can do comedy well, and they let her do that.

I didn’t find anything wrong or unusual about Chris’s acting choices. **shrug**

Kurt’s mildly unhappy through a lot of these episodes - but much of that is at Rachel. And really at his own place in life. And the one episode where he’s super sexually frustrated.

The Klaine stuff is delicious - and of course, discussed many other places that you don’t really need me to rehash it.

It’s also unfinished.

They should have made Adam Lambert a regular.

Alright - bring it Season 6.

I’m focusing now in Friends to Lovers (Zig x Chris) which is about to finish, two chapters more! And also in What Happened In Vegas pairing Drake and Erika (MC), with lots of angst. I have another angst series with my OTP Zig and Scarlett (MC) with angst and some smut, with my ideas for a more thrilling end for The Junior. I’ll post after I end the series about Zig and Chris.

What is your favorite/least favorite part about writing?

My favorite part is when I’m able to express what I was thinking. My least favorite part, as a Portuguese speaker, sometimes it’s dificult to express some ideas in English, mostly slangs. And sometimes when I forget some ideas I had when I wasn’t writing LOL

Favorite character you’ve written?

My OTP Zig and Scarlett (MC). I also had fun writing about him and Chris, Mark and my MC Renata, and Jax and Adrian.

What are you planning to work on next?

Oh, okay, I have LOTS OF IDEAS LOL let’s go:

1. Zig and Scarlett’s wedding and honeymoon! And also about their life as a married couple and their kids! (I’ve already chosen how many kids and their names!)

2.An AU with Zig and Scarlett which can be a little controversial. I had this idea when I watched a documentary TV show about that. I can promise is a very SEXY series!

3.An AU with (guess who) Zig and Scarlett (they’re really my favorite, I love them so much) where they don’t get together at the end of The Senior and their paths cross again five years after graduation. Angst and danger for my babies MWAHAHAHAH

4. A modern AU about Desire and Decorum, pairing my MC Elise and Prince Hamid.

5.Another modern AU about A Courtesan Of Rome.

6. About The Royal Heir, a series with my MC Kelly and her husband King David (Liam), where she’s dealing with the fact that she can’t get pregnant, at the same time they house a mysterious pregnant girl in the palace with a past marked by suffering.

7. Still about TRR, a crossover TRR x ROE focusing on a crisis in Leo and Kate, and Liam and Riley marriage. And some scandals between commoners and nobles...

8. I want to rewrite some books too: Bloodboud 2, focusing on Jax and Adrian's relationship, The Senior focusing on Zig and Cris's relationship and The Freshman's first three books, imagining that Zig is a LI since book 1

9. And yet about Zig, similar to my fanfic About a Girl, his point of view after he and Scarlett have that break in The Senior before she travels to London (and don't worry, it's my headcanon and they'll be together with assurance!)

The first Valentine's Day: starring Zig and Scarlett's first Valentine's Day during the events of The Sophomore 2. Super cute and sexy, sometimes funny, I enjoyed a lot writing!

Friends to Lovers: I was uncertain about writing MLM, but I love this series, I love their dynamics, and I'm glad more people ship Zig and Chris! And it gave me ideas for WLW couples in my future works. Just wait!

One Night Affair: my first threesome starring Cal, Ashley (BB MC) and Jax, I LOVE this fanfic, it was the hotest I wrote!

Everything: books, TV shows, movies, songs, telenovelas, things that happened to me, or with other people...

I really don’t like fanfics with real people. Fictional characters, okay, but actors, actresses and singers? Ew.

How could she hide that things from her husband, the man she loved? It was wrong, and made her blame herself even more. But she also didn’t know if the best thing would be to tell him. The baby could be his, and if it was true, he would never know about her last fling in Vegas. But if she had this doubt, wouldn’t be better to tell him? No, the fear of his reaction was greater.

Fudge Behaving Badly: a misbehaving/getting into trouble headcanon.

“Babe, babe…lissen. I can explain in a minute but just in case… I want you to call Jay at her shop, okay? She still has her license with the bar. And she’s a lot closer than your office is. And technically we were arrested in the-”He knew she was going to cut him off and he’s as patient as he can be because really, that’s not the phone call you want to get when your husband takes a weekend off to go ‘home’ to New York. Even as much as you hate that he calls it that…home should be the place that you two are building. Home should be where you’re raising your kids. Where he comes back every night except…Except moments like this. And he knows she has every right to be furious, to be terrified. As much as he loves New York it is very much a cesspool and some people float right up to the top, don’t they.

“I know, babe, and I’m sorry. But what was I supposed to do. We were up at the bar and Baz hit the head while I ordered drinks and a couple of these long-shore men get up and follow him back in there. Start talking shit about him an’ me an then there was the shoving and the pushing, and I wasn’t about to let him go it alone, although it was pretty funny when he grabbed the back of the toilet tank and laid this guy bigger than me out with-”She has a few things to say about that too, and he can only agree with her. Yes, he’s getting too old for that kind of thing. Yes, they should have just left. But it was just supposed to be a night out. It was supposed to be a good time. And he wasn’t about to left someone screw around with Baz.The cop comes to collect him, take him back to the holding cell and he has to leave out the last of the details. He tells her he loves her. He tells her he’ll see her in a day or two, depending on what kind of legal voodoo Jay can produce.

And when he gets back to the cell? He drops himself down on the concrete bench covered in graffiti and God knows what else. Cradles his head in his best friend’s lap because it’s close to killing him with the waves of pounding pressure. Baz drops a hand down on his chest and asks how it went.“Oh, dude. She is gonna fucking MURDER me when I get home.” Riley half grins and swats at Baz’s hair. Because honestly? It’s kind of worth whatever fresh hell his wife can come up with. Despite the possibly broken nose and the fact that he can’t see out of one eye that great….he feels more himself than he has in a while.

- I think this is the most emotionally invested I’ve been in a piece of media since that time I spent a few months completely incoherent over uncharted, and naughty dog very kindly held my heart in their hands and chose to be gentle with it in the end but I am not so sure that is how it’s going to be for this series and I am Not Prepared for the suffering

- I love whenever laurence thinks uncomfortably about one of the various and sundry atrocities committed by the government he’s still pledged all his loyalty to. yes william maybe the british empire... is in fact not good and has enough blood on their hands to dye the ocean red. I can’t wait until he connects the dots here (and presumably has a pretty intense crisis if faith about it because it seems like one of the loadbearing structures of his character... actually no wait I’m not ready to see this D:D:D:)

- the little details like the fact that he just calls bb!roland ‘emily’ and harcourt becomes ‘catherine’ so easily in his narration now are so so sweet

- lord allendale is one of those dudes who have good politics but is a shitheel to his family and I want to smack him

laurence being the mortified poster boy of this party, though? priceless, imagine coming up with a protagonist this effortlessly involuntarily hilarious, it’s the mark of true genius

- I don’t usually quibble over things like this, but I think the edit for this fourth book specifically is a bit lacking? I’ve come across a lot of mistakes even my dumb ass can pick up on already, and I’m only a hundred pages or so in

- caught between crying and cackling at this part b/c like laurence I’m d e v a s t a t e d at the thought of temeraire getting sick but also temeraire is just like cheerfully getting laid the whole time

also how did none of the aviators think to give laurence The Talk about giving his dragon The Talk, you all know what he’s like

- I have spent half of today crying about dragons coughing, how are you this fine evening good reader

- btw this series fills a hole in my soul left by jkr giving me all those tantalizing hints of different types of dragons in ‘fantastic beasts’ and never following up on it

- tharkay may not be here but laurence just mentioned him like once in his narration so let’s take the excuse to reminisce about the good old days (when tharkay was here)... remember that time when the one of his own jokes he laughed openly at was about lawyers and laurence frankly should have responded better b/c it was kind of funny and sadly temeraire doesn’t have the worldly experience to know it yet.... aaah precious, he truly is a sardonic blessing to my heart and deserves the world

I’m so proud of you laurence)

also lol @ berkely coming in to tell them everyone can hear them, I have a desperately soft spot for him and maximus. just the image of both of them turning to him ‘united in appalled indignation’ like ‘excuse you???’ and him giving exactly zero fucks... *chef kiss emoji*

- most important information revealed in this book: a) dragons are not widely considered to have committed original sin, thank you reverend erasmus and b) laurence has taken time out of his day at some point to worry about it b/c he’s a dork

- ‘average dragon speaks one million languages’ factoid actualy statistical error. Temeraire Linguist Georg, who wants a pavilion thank you very much & learns over 10,000 languages each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted <3<3<3

- laurence effortlessly rating the relative hotness of the other male aviators to try to suss out who harcourt has slept with fjsaldfhsdkljafh do you ever hear yourself think william

like this is the thing about him it’s so easy to headcanon him as bi b/c he can be so mindbogglingly oblivious it’s entirely possible he literally wouldn’t even have noticed until someone smacked him over the head with it

- see I’m very happy they found the cure but I don’t fucking trust it b/c the pattern of these books tends to be to give you one moment of ‘oh phew everything is going to be okay’ about 2/3 into the story and THEN everything goes to hell and fifty pages later laurence is dissociating and napoleon has conquered prussia

also... if you just overlook the dictator thing for a moment is napoleon wrong about what he’s saying tho. (no and not even laurence is prepared to say so he’s just going to go back there and get murdered anyway b/c idk lawful good is dumb as fuck sometimes I guess)

It’s really cool how the author shows that napoleon has a better handle on laurence’s psychology after barely meeting him than a lot of people he’s known for years now, though, really adds to his menace and appeal as a character

- wow uh that’s one way to end a book... it’s actually tipped over from tragedy into a strange sort of hilarity for me now: he literally got sued out of his life’s earnings for being a decent human being, committed treason for the same reason and is about to be hanged for thinking genocide might have been a step too far -- in the span of thirty pages. I believe ‘that escalated quickly’ is not too much of an exaggeration here

- SIPHO IS GONNA WRITE BOOKS ONE DAY YOU GUYS!!!! I PROUDLY WELCOME OUR SECOND NERD TO THE CREW

- I think this one might be my least favorite so far? not that I disliked it, it’s just the one that’s hit the worst by the fact that there’s not always that much time spent with the cultures central to the book; tswana seems really interesting but because of the way the plot played out and our limited perspective though laurence it just didn’t work for me? the cool shit comes in sipho’s book at the end, like how thoroughly they kicked the europeans out of the coast of africa, which is very cathartic (I will say that most of the second book being set on the ship and then only a sliver of it is actually in china annoyed me too haha)

I have the distinct feeling this book is setting up for some Misery and breaking of the pattern a bit in the next one though, which will be interesting! ONWARDS TO MORE PAIN AND LAURENCE IS ALREADY PASSIVELY SUICIDAL FROM THE OUTSET SO LIKE... I’M SURE THIS WILL BE REAL FUN :)

My Realm, My Home

I saw that something is messed up with tumblr’s links so I’m going to be using the tag #virgils nightmare realm on all the parts for this fic! 💜

Summary For The Story: I know I shouldn’t be scared to tell them. I know they won’t hate me, or my friends, my other family. But I can’t help but think they’ll judge. That they’ll deem them evil. That they’ll deem them monsters. Anyone would at first. I can admit the people in my realm are….different, but that doesn’t mean they’re bad. Some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting live in my realm. But when Logan had mentioned how I never talk about my realm, where I come from, or what’s in my so-called “Nightmare Realm”. I knew I had to tell them.

This is my first fic in the Sanders Sides fandom -(actually it’s my first fic ever) and I’ve had this idea for a while and I just wanted to say Thank you, to all the people who have been commenting, reading, and liking this fic! I would have never had made it without all the support! I don’t have a schedule for this fic yet (curse school for sucking all my time and energy) ((I really shouldn’t blame school for my procrastination lol)) I’m probably going to post one chapter a week from now on! (maybe more if I get inspiration) Since this is my first REAL fic, I wanted to ask if you peoples have any good tips or advice for writing? And really, Thank you so much for all the love and support - hope you enjoy!🦄

"Not what I was expecting to be honest" Logan announces. And yeah, that's fair.

"Uh, Virge...I thought you said there were...a lot of people in your realm" says Roman, in a questioning tone.

Patton, Logan, and Roman are staring at what they believe to be my realm. It looks like an abandoned and worn down old town.

But this isn't what its actually like.

"It IS full of people" I reply, stifling a laugh at the looks on their faces.

I use the magic that I have in my realm to pull do what looks like a huge zipper in the sky.

"Wha.." Patton says before he realizes what I'm doing.

The shadows coming from my hands clasping around it and pull down revealing the ACTUAL town.

"It's a safety precaution" I answer to the question I could tell they were going to ask.

"Oh," they all say at the same time.

As soon as the zipper is pulled all the way down, the shock seems to wash over the three of them in waves.

“This...is my realm,” I say, walking through the opening.

In front of the four of us is what seems to be a busy town full of people.

Children playing soccer in the street. People shopping around in the small stores. Homes with families and people inside. Everything in a normal town, until you look a little closer.

If you take a second glance at the children playing soccer, one of the little boys looks almost invisible. Another child kicks the ball and before it can hit a car, it's stopped by magic coming from a little girl five feet away. The children continue to play like nothing happened.

A woman on the street walks into a shop, but if you watched a little closer you could see her pass through the door. A man in his truck who looks to be going home, pulling into his driveway. But once he's out of the car, you can see that half his body is just a skeleton, and nothing more.

Normally, a sight like this would frighten someone. But not me. For me, this is home.

I see Jacob and his brother Carmen with Evey in the street, and I walk over berate them on safety on reflex.

I walk up near the kids and the others follow behind me, looking dazed at the sight in front of them.

"You kids know the rule about playing in the street!" I yell from the sidewalk.

"VIRGIL" Carmen shrieks and runs up to me, Jacob and Evey not far behind.

I neal to the ground on instinct, bracing for impact. Sure enough, I have a small, ghostly body hugging me around my waist. I hug back, my arms almost going through him. But not quite.

"YOU'RE BACK!" Jacob and Evey yell at the same time.

"Yup, and you're yelling," I say, ruffling Jacobs' hair.

"Sorry," They both say a bit quiter, so not to disturb the people nearby.

"No problem munchkins" I reply gentler.

God, I missed it here. And it's only been a few days.

I glance behind me at the others, and the surprised look on their faces is priceless.

I'm practically the uncle to all the kids who live here. So Jacob, Carmen, and Evey's reactions after not seeing me around for a few days isn't really that surprising to me.

But to Logan, Roman, and Patton, seeing this place and the people here for the first time. It must be an experience, to say the least.

LOGAN'S POV xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Once the actual town is revealed, I could immediately see what Virgil was referring to about the "different" people that live here. We all hesitantly follow Virge into the town. I take a look around and no one seems to be minding us any attention, so Virgil coming here must be a common occurrence.

My hypothesis is proven to be true when, after Virge berates a few children for playing in the street. They, instead of playing somewhere safer, run up too him screaming. The younger of the three cling to his waist like a lifeline.

Virgil, after hugging the younger ghost child, tells the children to stop yelling, so not to disturb the people around them. I make a mental note to ask Vigil how he knows these children. I try to mask my surprise at what has just transpired when he glances back at us.

He seems somewhat still on guard as if he expects us to be "creeped out" or disgusted with the children in front of us. He does look to be relaxed more since he has been here in his "Nightmare Realm" though.

I take a look at Patton and Roman while Virgil is distracted by the children. They look as surprised as I feel, Patton seems excited as well, Roman looks speechless. Which isn't a surprise considering what’s happening right now.

But suddenly I realize he's staring at something. I follow his gaze to Virgil and see what he is gaping at. Virgil had told us his appearance would change and only now am I gauging exactly what that change is.

Virge has a shadow, but not a normal shadow. A cloak of a shadow all around his back. It looks like a halo of shadow around his head and arms as well. His eyes may be the biggest change though. His left pupil is white, and the rest of his eye is pitch black.

When he stands, and the children go to play somewhere safer than the street, I guess.

He turns to look at us, slack-faced, probably trying to gauge our reactions on his appearance and the realm.

I look in his eyes. His right pupil is a Dark, Rich purple, with a pitch black back round. Black shadows seem to be crawling up his neck, looking fused with his skin. His hair seems darker, almost pitch black. A hint of purple showing from where Thomas had dyed his hair.

I still have no idea how Virgil managed to keep this place a secret for so long. It honestly makes much more sense now. His random disappearances for long periods of time, always coming back happier. How he locked his door when he left, even when one of us rose in, his room was empty.

I'm proud of him in a way. He showed us this place to us, even if there would be consequences. And that, in my eyes, is a very brave thing for the trait of fight or flight to do. I’ll have to express this feeling to him at some point in the near future.
