Hermitcraft AU: horrible disguises
Do you guys know how we almost never see hermits as humans?
What if all the Hermits where hybrids but didn’t know the others were as well so they try to hide their hybrid features but very poorly
Like this
Grian standing there with his wings out but dyed in elytra colours, but it’s done very poorly and you can still see his feathers.
Pearl who also dyed her moth wings but it’s even worse
Pearl: hello, does your elytra look different?
Grian: no?
Pearl shrugging: okay

Doc getting ready in the morning and putting on make up to cover up his green skin
Ren walking in with a human mask on and hair clips that push his ears down but you can still see them

I have nothing against Buddie, quite the opposite, I think it's a very cute ship but in the show, I see them as platonic.
Anyone who follows my blog knows that I love to make parallels between shows and Buck and Eddie make think of Will and Gunnar in Nashville.
They're best friends, share an incredible bond and at one point they even raised a kid together (with Avery). They have shared so many scenes that could be seen as ambiguous but they're not, because that's how best friends act. Because are you even best friends you've never had someone assume you and your best friend were dating?
But they're not dating, they have the strongest bond and have always been there for eachother, but their relationship has never been romantic.
That's how I see Buck and Eddie's relationship.
The reason I'm saying this is because I feel like Buck would have went for it if he had wanted to be with Eddie. He would have been more obvious.
He didn't have any problem doing it when he was interested in other men. He might have done it in a clumsy way or acted like didn't know exactly how to proceed but he "went for it" anyway...
Exhibit A: Buck was hitting on TK in the 9-1-1/9-1-1 Lone Star crossover. Buck didn't say "we should meet up" or "catch up", he said "we should get together". And he didnt say it to the whole group. He waited for a moment when they were both alone.
That's why TK thought Buck was hitting on him, because he was.
Same with Tommy. Buck was flirting with Tommy way before their moment in the kitchen.
Exhibit B: Buck admitted that he asked Tommy for a tour because he wanted to get to know him, he even asked Tommy out, after the tour. He didn't say "we should grab a beer" or "do you want to go out for drinks", he said "you should let me buy you a beer". That man was trying to get a date.
And then in Buck's kitchen, when Tommy still wouldn't get it, Buck told him point blank that he was trying to get his attention.
I really think Buck knows what he wants even if he's a little confused about how to get there. And I never really felt like he wanted to go there with Eddie. Buck and Eddie are each other's person but it doesn't always have to be romantic.

no because i need to talk about mickey and ian's tiny little obsession with calling each other "mr milkovich" and "mr gallagher" idk how to explain it but it's like they've been waiting for so long that now they can't stop showing that they're each other's person, they can't stop talking about how they belong to each other, they need to keep telling the world that they're together.
Which reminds me of another silly little obsession but this time is just Mickey's obsession: the rings need to be visible. In the promise rings scene, in s10 when Ian goes to Byron's house to see Mickey and gives him this promise ring, he looks even more hurt when he sees that Ian wears his ring in a non visible place. It actually bothers him that no one can see, that no one will know that he has someone, that no one will see that he "belongs" to someone, that no one will know or Ian won't tell the world about him, about them. Like they're hiding again, like Mickey's hiding again. He notices he doesn’t have his ring in that one scene with Sandy where they're talking about the wedding, he notices and he even asks where is it.
The ring is not only a ring or the symbol of their marriage but also is them not hiding anymore and having sex in the back of a store, is them not living anymore in a constant state of anxiety and fear because what if they found them out, what if they knew about them. It's them telling the world that they're together, that they love each other, that they fought, screamed, cried, hurt each other, tried to elope and have a happy ending but it wasn't their moment and always found their way back and finally they made it.
It's Mickey not being ashamed anymore, it's Mickey being ridiculously proud of his husband, of what they have, of himself. It's Ian knowing Mickey is gonna love him unconditionally, it's Ian trying to not forget that he's worth loving, it's Ian allowing Mickey to take care of him and pretending he doesn't notice the little things he does for him because he's worried and he's an act of service type of person so he doesn't ask much, he does these little things.
So they're obsessed with the idea of telling the world they're free, they're in love, they're together and they vowed a forever. They just need the world to know they're Mr Gallagher and Mr Milkovich because for a long time they couldn't call each other "mine" and it felt like better times wouldn't come, like they would have to live in these shadows like a secret mission.
And now they're proudly in love in the daylight and it's the most exciting thing so they talk constantly about it and never stop looking at their rings, at each other in awe and adoration.

Rewatching some scenes of Shinyu and Hongjo and i have to say their realtionship progression after they started dating in ep 11 is so well written i mean yes it is not perfect but it is near perfect for me.
Especially the fact that it is not only that they are in love with each other but there is desire/passion(sexual) in between them which is expressed not only by their actions but also by their words which imo many kdramas lack in that part. And i am glad that the writers didnt shy away in showing us the sexual tension between the couple in their realtionship.
And it is right from ep4 okay when shinyu was like "if it is not kiss that can break the curse then is it...?" Shinyu was down bad horny okay.
One more example is that noncon kiss in ep7. I mean yes that was problematic and he deserved to be punched. But he was eager to show his feelings and desire to hongjo and wanted to know how she felt about him. Also his imaginary kiss and bed scene
And most importantly this desire was mutual. Hongjo was attracted to him too. She very much gave into that kiss in ep6 but alas shinyu slept. She was frustrated. The next day she is like "you were terrible at it"
And it gets more interesting when start dating
They are comfortable enough to sleep in the same bed the same night they get into relationship. Hong jo very much wanted to be with him you can see how she was frustrated when he didnt come to her room. Also love the way Shinyu was testing the waters with the whole "if you say another word i wont stay still..." dialogue. See she was shy but not scared of it.
And throughout ep11 and ep12 we can see that their is a mutual sexual tension between them. Also i love how Hong jo is able to show her desire too. She actively asks kisses from him, tries to seduce him in his office which shows that being single all through her doesnt mean she has to be naive in the physical intimacy part of their relationship. Yes as her first time in a relationship she gets shy and giddy but she has desires and she is very much aware about it too.
About, their breakup, i know people were like there comes the noble idiocy of ep13 but i actually enjoyed it. It is the way they showcased their longing for each other. Particularly, when shinyu gets drunk. It is the way he hugged her, nuzzled into her neck and smelled her. He not only missed her emotionally but also missed their hugs and kisses. And same for hong jo too that little smile she gives before being sad again and the way she gave into that hug. She indulges him not only for him but also for herself.
And so for me their reunion was much more sweeter and earned because the curse is gone now the main barrier between their relationship.
That spiderman kiss on the couch. Many people are like hong jo got shy. But i personally felt that she (and him too btw) actually was so turned on at that point that if she hadnt stopped it would have escalated into some thing more and which wasnt good for shinyu since he was injured. Same when they were sleeping together, look at the way hong jo is smiling and shinyu's gaze lingers on her lips.
Now on to the main lovemaking scene. That was planned mutually by them okay i mean not verbally but they both knew what was gonna happen and they both wanted it. Their phone conversation says it all. Also the way he was like "take your time to change" and then she comes wearing his white shirt when could have wore any comfortable tshirt of his. They didnt knew it was gonna happen right at that moment but tgey knew they knew that this was the night. And i loved that because it was consensual and it wasnt just heat of the moment. It felt very much earned and sweeter.
And throughout ep16 we can see that how much they both enjoy the physical intimacy and are pretty much normal about it now. Him saying that he cannot sleep w/o her. She jumping on him taking charge. It all feels natural with them
Lastly, it also shows the contrast with the relationship shinyu had with nayeon. You see he never felt any attraction towards her that he never felt the need to even hold her hands.

My current fave bg3 take is that you can't possibly justify playing durge as a cleric. Specially a good one.
My sweet bhaalbabe, maybe what you're missing is creativity- and reading comprehension.
Bc I ran into that dumb take while looking for inspiration to build Scipio's lore, I'll rant a lil bit down here, might help if you're building your own cleric durge.
From the idea of your durge being a cleric before the crash, not as a whim after losing their memory:
• If you rest right away after the crash you can ask yourself about your race and class. Both hint to a life before the urge, almost forgotten but there. The dragonborn remembers his people (you know their customs and even speak draconic in game), but haven't lived near them in a long time. The cleric feels foolish for praying, it's something done out of habit and it feels ancient. Note that you feel foolish bc your God doesn't answer but:
•God's can't interfere with durge's story. Withers just watches you stumble around, not even the butler can tell you your past bc the higher-ups told him not to. It is very probable that your chosen deity is giving you powers, but not directly answering your calls, because they can't interfere. So you can cast spells in their name, but papa bahamut isn't answering the phone. Your deity would probably hope for your redemption (if good) or your devotion (if evil) and give you power while you find yourself. If you go back to Bhaal- then he is giving you the powers.
•Haven't played but the Paladin storyline hints that it isn't the first time you take and break your oath.
•The butler hints heavily that durge needed guidance often. The worse thing you ever did, for him, was giving a beggar money for no reason. Any hint of mercy was scolded- but they were there. It is perfectly possible that teachings of another God remained either from your past or in search of getting rid of your urges.
•Durge didn't grew up in Bhaals temple, you had a foster family and nice childhood at some point, and you murdered said foster family at a young ("adolescent") age. That leaves your "biological" family, where you learned about your race, and a nice chunk of time to learn your religion. Most clerics start at a very young age, it is perfectly possible you had your teachings at a very young age and they just stuck. Maybe you tried to reconnect during the years as the Urge, but failed spectacularly.
•What I DO wonder is after your super lovely redemption arc, and daddy Withers pulls a fuck you to Bhaal, where you lie there. Because you're referred as faithless, because your father God forsake you. I wonder if that is meant as a you're now in a clean slate. Or you're liberally condemned as a faithless regardless of who you choose to worship afterwards (after all, you don't need to be a cleric to be a worshiper of any god).
Overall- the plot hole of the "ending" applies pretty much to every character that believes in any God, so it isn't a big enough plot hole for me.
Anyway, after coming from DA where we disregard half of the canon to make it work better, having so much canon to work with is a delight.
I think BG3 does a good job of giving you a nice skeleton to build the missing pieces of your durge to your pleasure. Were you a tortured child, lead astray from your path by your evil father? Were you always a monster and your urges simply exploited what already was there? Your choice.
Btw writing your durge to have a good deity and a good past doesn't mean you're erasing the Urge nature. Bitch is a murderer. But let them have an extra layer of tragedy.
It's crazy people seem to not understand this logic when SHADOWHEART is right there. You can drive parallels from her lore easily.

The doubt and fear of whatever they were, the source of the voice lurking nearby made her feel nauseous. But despite the sudden protection, she felt like death, or at least on the brink of death. She clenched her stomach, feeling a gap where her armor failed, blood dripping from her abdomen. It wasn’t draining enough for her to be concerned yet, she had a mission to finish.

Okay so disclaimer i haven't seen Dead Apple in a while, and I also didn't go into writing this with a conclusion in mind, so its a bit of a mess.but! i did reach a conclusion! Sorry for any inaccuracies, I was working from memory for a lot of this. please correct me if im wrong about something! Also pretty please add any connected theories if you have any

I remember watching Dead Apple and being really thrown off by the fact that Fyodor's ability seemed to be chill with him. Every character aside from him who had an ability manifestation was fighting their ability. This makes me think that in his natural state (not affected by Shibusawa's ability), Fyodor is already fighting his own ability, so when Shibusawa was doing his thing, the relationship flipped and they got along.
In chapter 108 of the manga, fyodor suddenly says he's controlled by "a demon" and follows it up with this:
then he says this:
which is really key. It implies everything i suspected from Dead Apple-- Fyodor's ability is his enemy.
Of course, right after this scene, he stabs Sigma and basically says "teehee I was lying the whole time"
But I don't know if I truly believe he was lying (which isn't a hot take, I've seen other people who believe the same thing). What he said earlier really fit with the conclusions that could be drawn from Dead Apple. There is a real possibility that he when his ability regained control it just, ya know, lied.
Okay fine, whatever, what is his ability?? who, or what, is he? to be fully honest, I don't know.
But here's what we do know -- or for many of these, what we suspect (in number list so i can easily refer back to them)
1. Fyodor might be immortal. A very popular theory based mainly around the fact that he is everywhere in the BSD timeline but never seems to age
2. His ability probably works against him in some way, likely taking over his body due to some "weakness" that was brought forth by the ability, and then taken advantage of. I am going to refer to the "good" Fyodor we briefly see in ch 108 as 108!fyodor just to make things easier for myself.
3. He can kill non-gifted with a touch of his hand. I don't think he can kill gifted the same way (he had to shoot the cat-lady, plus every ability-kill we've seen thus far has been of non-gifted victims)
4. Nikolai does not know how to kill him (still unclear on the whole poisoning plotline-- I have seen the theory that Nikolai didn't poison them earlier, but the "antidote" is poison. Still not fully clear on how all of this fits together), and wants Sigma to find out his ability so he can kill him.
5. In Dead Apple, he was split into "Crime" and "Punishment". One person was an ability manifestion just like everyone else had been dealing with, the other was Fyodor himself acting as part of his ability-- which is odd because the ability is supposed to sever the gift from the gifted. and yet fyodor was still part of it, just fragmented. This supports the fyodor is not fully human idea presented by Sigma's question of "what are you?" and the immortaity theory. It also supports an alter-ego, as he had two personalities there.
6. fyodor has some vendetta against the gifted despite being a gifted himself
7. gifts are typically a result of some type of trauma or past experience. we do not really know his backstory.
so point 4. Nikolai doesn't know how to kill him. Assuming everything 108!fyodor said was true, this dagger could kill him:
sword Kladenets is an established sword type, typically belonging to a hero (interesting that fyodor has one...)
"In some heroic poems and ancient Russian legends, a sword Kladenets acts as a self-cutting sword, which, on the orders of its owner, can cut down an entire forest or at least the whole enemy army. Other weapons could heal or make their owners or holders – invulnerable."
interesting stuff. invincibility? Well, fyodor may be immortal (see point #1), so that could go hand in hand with that. It would also explain why a sword Kladenets would be needed to kill him-- any other weapon would fall short.
Also, fyodor's "ability" involves being able to kill other people easy-peasy by tapping them (point #3)-- which is the same thing the sword kladenets does. Remember, every person he's killed with his ability bled out where he touched them-- as if they were cut with a blade!!
But why can't he kill ability users? my theory is that abilities are on the same level as a sword kladenets, and therefore the sword cannot do it on its own. Fyodor can only be killed by the sword kladenets that he wields and not by an ability; he cannot kill an ability user with the sword. makes enough sense to me
okay, what else can we learn from the sword?
Everything I read about the sword describe that the hero has to find the sword; by digging it from the ground or taking it from a dead body, or some other way of earning it. Then the sword will work with the hero. But Fyodor's ability (which I am beginning to believe is simply the sword he wields) works against him (see point #2), which makes me think he obtained the sword without earning it. This could be the "weakness" that was brought forth by his ability and allowed for his ability to overtake him-- which makes sense!! he would not have that weakness had he not obtained the sword!
The sword is also often given a personality-- it is a character in itself (which would explain the alter-ego point #5)
furthermore, how could he have a sword in prison if it wasn't part of his ability??
So! what I am trying to say is that fyodor somehow wrongly obtained a sword kladenets (or perhaps in this universe, the sword kladenets), and is now controlled by it. this led to him form an alter ego (the sword's personality), which overtook him due to the fact that he did not earn the sword, and was not powerful enough to control it. The sword gave him the ability to be unkillable (and therefore immortal/unaging), and the ability to kill non-gifted easily by simple contact.
i would like to emphasize that i am very likely wrong, as this is BSD we're talking about after all. I am working from memory and a very small amount of research, and also using this as an excuse to procrastinate. Take this with a grain of salt. but also, please add onto this if you have thoughts. I have not read Crime and Punishment (I have copy but I've been busy) or any other Dostoevsky book, so if you have and you think this relates to his books in any way (or that it contradicts them) I'd love to hear it!

Shinyu×Hongjo au
All hong jo ever wanted in her life was someone to talk to someone to share to her daily life her worries with and now after all these years of lonely takeout dinners she has her very own husband Jang Shin yu to do that.
Everyday hong jo would babble about her day at city hall and what all complaints she got and how she solved them to shin yu and he was more than ready to listen her. Actually he loved to listen her voice and thus would sit through it with completely whipped eyes momentarily giving her "hmm's"
But today it is different his wife wanted to relay an incident that happened when she and her junior went to solve a complaint. Yes, her "junior" as hong jo is now promoted as the head manager of the complaints department of the city hall.
So here he is sitting on their bed leaning against thd headboard all ready to cuddle his wife and sleep yet still watching his enthusiastic wife giving him a live action demo on how she rescued her junior from a greasy man who was harassing them with her taekwando moves that she learned in her self defense class which she decided to take on shinyu's insistence because according to him he cannot come to save her 24/7 since she has a knack for running into trouble while solving complaints.
At some point when she starts to shows off her taekwando moves he starts to zone out. Because how can he not his wife looks so sexy rn that all he wants to do is kiss her senseless and love her.
Hong jo notices that he is not giving her the regular "hmm's" he always give and stops and gets angry at him for not listening to her(though she knows that look he was given her before but she just wants to tease him)
Shinyu as a devoted husband should quickly follows with a sorry and insists that he did listen to her. So hongjo asks him to recite the whole story and he does every single word perfectly given his eidetic memory. And now it is Hong jo who gets turned on because of her big brained husband but she is not shinyu who would wait, she pounces on him in the middle of his babbling and thats how their day ends with happiness, giggles and passionate love making.

Thank you for your patience
Hey all.
I know I haven't posted anything in the way new of fics in months, and this won't change that. But I wanted to give you a very quick update and heartful thanks for sticking with me during this lull.
About two years ago, I graduated from my third round of post-graduate schooling, passed a difficult test, and was finally able to find myself a career. One year ago, I quit the work I was doing with a local freelancing firm and went entirely self-employed--which, as I'm sure you can imagine, required a lot of hustle, a lot of on-the-job learning, and a lot crying when I messed something up and was informed that the screw up entitled an entity in town to throw me in prison.
(They didn't, and they thought it was weird that I thought they would; apparently they have the power to but aren't going to enact over something as minor as my screw up.)
Needless to say, it's been difficult. There's been burnout. When I haven't been working, I needed to clean and exercise. So when I had the rare chance to do something with my free time, I rarely had the spoons to do anything more than watch some YouTube videos. I injured myself a couple years ago, and am dealing with chronic pain resulting from that injury to this day, and it tends to manifest itself when I sit at a desk for long periods of time. Last weekend, my mental health hit a pretty bad low--but a long-time friend said I could vent to her, and I did, and I am feeling much more optimistic.
I have been offered a full-time position doing what I do. The good news is that means a a salary! No more scrambling to get a paycheck when someone cancels on me! Actual medical insurance (if you couldn't tell, I'm based in the USA)! The bad news is that it's an hour long commute, at least until such a time as I can prove to a bank that I make consistent enough money that they'll give me a mortgage.
(Last October, I made about $200 total even though I was scheduled to work almost every day. That's the kind of thing I've been dealing with.)
I'm not really sure what the future is going to hold, but I'd like to get writing again. After my crash and burn on Saturday, I made myself sit down and squeeze out a couple of pages of a Spock one shot (I know it's not what's on my request list, but this Loki thing is being birthed through difficult labor, and I needed to be excited). God willing, I'll be able to get back into a little more. There are things I really want to share with you all, and things I'd love to actually get out for the people that were kind enough to ask them of me.
So from the bottom of my heart: Thank you. Thank you for following even when I haven't produced anything in a long time. Thank for showing enough passion for my work to request things. Thank you for the reblogs. Thank you for the replies asking for parts twos. Thank you for the recommendation shoutouts in posts on your blog. Although I rarely respond (because I don't want to be seen as bragging), I look at each and every one of them. When things are difficult, sometimes I'll pull out my little collection of especially kind comments, and they help me feel a little better.
