he doesn't give a shit when he finds out about the hobby, that was the weird idol shit aoi todo was into or something, right? he doesn't care, he just wants to go home after picking you up from your photoshoot with your other cosplayer friends.

And while I have to admit to harboring a lot of complicated feelings about Kill la Kill these days, it—and especially Ryuko and Senketsu—will always be special to me. I've actually been meaning to make a Ryuketsu AMV for ages, since I now kinda-sorta know how to video edit!
I grew so much as a writer from Kill la Kill, and it is beyond heartening that my old work is still of interest today. This is seriously so sweet—thank you again!!

Sorry my demons
so a bunch of stuff happens on the island bla bla bla but the important thing is that all the eggs get kidnapped and no one (not even the evil federation that runs the island) knows where they are
and the parents are told to get on a train to be relocated to some random island until the federation deals with the missing eggs
but the train is hijacked and the players are now in purgatory
this event was hell
this fucking event was hell on earth. Not only for us, the viewers, but also for the ccs
The rules are these: Islanders are separated into 3 different teams Red (aka BOLAS?!?!? -thats their actul name ), Green (aka team green ninjas), and Blue (aka team soulfire)
there is a big evil guy and he is the one that kidnapped the eggs and he runs this event
all the teams have tasks that need to be done in a day and the team with the highest score is the winner of that day
The 'ultimate winner' is the team who has won the most days across the two-week period. The winning team gets to choose some of the eggs to come back home with them
then the hell begins
im gonna talk about team bolas here cause they are the ones i watched the most but team green ninjas and team soulfire were also very fun
team bolas consists of:

Baghera Jones
Carre
Cellbit
Felps
Foolish
Germán
Jaiden
Slimecicle
Vegetta
Wilbur Soot
Willyrex
but the ones that logged in the most were phil, slime, jaiden, foolish, baghera, cellbit and carre
at fistr team bolas tried to talk to the other teams, they didn't start fighting right away
because why would they!
these people were their friends! the people that helped them and that they made a community with, why would they mindlessly start killing each other?
so team bolas tried to talk
and the other teams respond by killing them
over
and over
and over
and over
and over again they kept killing team bolas even tho they only wanted to talk|
at the end of the first day team bolas was fucking depressed as fuck
they also went insane
yk jaiden, jaiden animation ? if you don't she is an animator and is generally kid-friendly and doesn't swear super much
im saying this because one of the most popular clips from the purgatory even was her screaming “kill yourself” from the top of her lungs
i don't have the clip saved but if i find it ill send it to you is so funny
anyway, so yeah team bolas went insane
they all started wearing these gas masks and it looks so fucking cool
oh and the ccs wore actual gas masks irl look
also everyone (but especially baghera and cellbit) got super attached to phil and started calling him dad, an now baghera has trauma and is super clingy to phil cause she sees him as a father figure
also everyone on team bolas HATES bbh i hope he dies and burns and is tortured eternally <33
(bbh was fucking ruthless and was a notorious spawn killer and gave everyone but especially charlie trauma)
but after the disaster that were the first couple of days team bolas made an insane comeback and manage to fucking win the event!!!
so in conclusion bolas forever <3
there are a lot of more fun moments from the purgatory event (like charlie terrorizing quackity, everyone going insane when carre logged in, that one time charlie pretended to be wilbur) but these were the basics of team bolas
hope you had a fun time reading this lol it was a lot of fun to write, and again if you want me to elaborate on anything (for example i could talk about q!phil and how his hardcore lore has become a part of the qsmp) tell me!!

I need you to know that I've been thinking about this ask non-stop for the last 3 days. This song came for us all and took us under its wing. I live here. It's a gem of a song. (This reply will get very long.)
My first time hearing it was live, as it was for a bunch of us as the album release was at the beginning of the tour. To set the scene, I was obviously really excited for any new songs I'd be hearing that night, and then Russell introduced the song like this:
"This is another brand new song for any of you who feel like maybe you're not on the right course. [He pauses briefly.] It's a song that's called 'It Doesn't Have To Be That Way'."
I was already nearly in tears, and then it started:
They always said that you cannot change your mind, Do it once and you're defined, do it twice and you're divine
...
It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
Every line of the entire song hit me like a brick while also being the most comforting thing I've ever heard. It was beautiful. And coming from the guys who for over a decade have been my personal champions of "things not having to be that way", the guys who are my people, who have by their very existence been telling us all this exact message for all these years. And here it was, in words, aimed at all of us.
They always said that you need to have a plan, Doesn't matter, any plan, any plan they'll understand, It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
... They've not been known to go for songs that bring people to tears, and I'm not known to be the kind of person to listen to songs and cry. And yet here we were.
While I can write an essay on every verse, a part that's especially meaningful to me, as a queer person, as an aspec person, is this:
They always said that it must reflect your life, And incorporate your strife, maybe mentioning your wife, It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
These *are* lines that seem to reflect their life (the entire song seems to, just as it does ours), and they're all things I've always loved so much about them, things that have paved the way for all of us. But I'm going to especially highlight the "maybe mentioning your wife" line. Here we have two (likely) heterosexual men, but they don't bring their love lives to the public eye - very consciously, and by choice. What they do with their lives is all about their music. Their lives are highly meaningful, to them and to so many people, and you don't need amatonormativity or the nuclear family to have a beautifully meaningful life. They show that every day, in all they do. Their work has always attracted many queer people of all sorts for obvious reasons, and it's been so easy to find aspec people among the fans which is a real treat. While they likely both have partners, the beauty is that we don't really know. We don't know that part of their lives and we don't need to know to know them, if they're not telling us it doesn't concern us. There's a lot of people who don't understand this though, people who feel like they don't know who Sparks are as people because these people feel like in order to know who a person is, they need to know their relationship status and whether they have a family. (In reality these people are looking at the wrong things, they're trying to classify and understand life in the only way they know, and therefore they seem to be unable to see what's there.) The added beauty of all this is that it doesn't just gives Sparks some privacy, but also it creates a safe space for all of us who aren't looking to live that way, who aren't looking to build our lives around a romantic partner, for whom the ideal life isn't one where you build a family, or for whom that do wish to live that way but where it isn't the thing that defines you. You don't have to mention a partner or make your life about that. It doesn't have to be that way, okay?
And then there's those parts of the song that go,

No sing along, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it
I'll pay for it
Which can be read and felt in a number of ways which all mean so much to me ... There's their own lives in it, where they've always done things their way, where people may tell them to not do things that way, and where it might not work out - I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it. Theres our lives, where we equally all make our decisions, try to just live our own ways to the best of our abilities and where we make mistakes - I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it.
And then, thirdly, to me, there's the feeling to it where they've got our backs. No chart-bound song, no sing along, that can be about an album not becoming the success it was hoped to be, but if you just look at No sing along, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it, to me there's also an aspect of not wishing it upon another - instead carrying it for you, don't sing along. (This feeling feels further supported by the ending of the song, how 'bout a drink, I'll pay for it, it's been too long, I'll pay for it, which to me reads as paying for that drink for your friend so no one has to go through it alone nor without support.)
I'll look uncool, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it

I'll look too schooled, I'll pay for it, I'll pay for it
I'll pay for it
The price of authenticity, the price of following your heart and your beliefs. And we all felt that.
As you can tell, this is one really really special song. It had so many of us in tears. We all spoke about it for weeks, I'm still talking about it. It's kind of like Sparks' life concepts we all already understood, that drew us here in the first place, got beautifully distilled into a song. (So much of this recent album has that quality, and it was felt all throughout the entire tour too.)
Every night Russell gave the song a slightly different introduction that hit people right in their heart. There's a quality to it performed live that makes it hit even harder than on the album. I recorded it at every show I've seen. Here's two of them:

... it especially hits hard when you're near the front, looking at these guys with your big eyes, locking eyes for a second and you know they know. (I also did a quick shot of Ron's Jordans here, seeing him wear them was always a dream of mine and here I was, stood right in front of him seeing him wear Jordans.)

I lowkey wish we'd got a 'days past' chapter that focused on the original lightwood siblings: gideon, gabriel, and tatiana. It didn't have to be anything groundbreaking!! I just really would have appreciated seeing what they were like before barbara's death, then benedict's death, and finally jesse's death. And it could have added a lot more to the story, imo. Also more tid/tlh lightwood content, which is always a plus.
yeah! especially with Tatiana being such a major antagonist like her past & motivations are driving factors of the book. there's a heavy focus on Rupert's death but the issues ran deeper than that & I think we see more of it in sobh (idk I haven't actually... read it yet 🙈) but imo there should have been more in the series itself
like their childhood is very fascinating & we know so little about it! it would have been nice to see how the issues between the siblings began before they got really bad & just how Benedict's parenting effected them all in different & often contradictory ways! and also how that legacy trickled down to the next generation (because it's so baffling that it??? didn't???)
& yeah who wouldn't want more tid/tlh lightwood content??

summary:
Eli is the first goodbye.
They sit side by side on the concrete stoop outside his building. His shoulders are sloped with defeat, and he’s fingering a cigarette but he hasn’t lit up yet.
“You trust these people?”
“No,” Rory says, arms wrapped around her knees. “I mean, I want to seeing as they’re technically my family or whatever, but it’s not like I know them all that well.”
“So why go?”
“Where else am I gonna stay?”
Eli turns. “Are you kidding me?” he asks, all fierce and fire—he gets that from Constance and they all know it, but they’d never stoop so low as to say it out loud. “You’ve gotta be high if you think Abuela and I wouldn’t move heaven and fucking Earth for your twiggy ass.”
Rory isn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. Settles for some in-between, quickly swiping tears away before they can fall. God, this is so hard. She thought Eli would be the easiest for some reason, maybe because he’s normally so sweet about everything, but instead it feels like a piece of her is being chipped away. What if she never sees him again? Or Constance, or even Ezzie, who was never quite around but still made sure to buy Rory’s favorite snacks whenever she went shopping, and lent her clothes to wear, and ruffled her hair in passing?
“I don’t wanna be an inconvenience,” she whispers, hiding in the burrow of her arms for a beat to collect herself.
Eli ducks down. “Never,” he says firmly. “Fucking never. I—Jesus. Eres parte de mi alma, understand?”

hello hello! i'm really sorry for the late reply but aw how exciting, i'm happy to hear you want to draw again!!<333 as for tips, i'm so sorry i feel like i'm not the best at explaining bc tbh most of the time i struggle with those areas myself and don't really have a specific approach to drawing them but i think some things that help me are using references and breaking down the anatomy into very simple shapes/lines! if you're struggling to draw based on what you see, feel free to trace over a pose just to get the feeling of it! here are some specific resources/tutorials i go back to whenever i feel stuck as well:

That's a thought Davina's been avoiding. Their loved ones, while the list is relatively small for them both ( as well as she knows ), do have a few overlaps. It's what she has always hated about fighting Mikaelsons. Until she broke that damned sireline, the lives of most of the people she loved were connected to that of her enemy.
Even after it was broken, she was presented with a new problem. Kol's plans for Klaus had never once been to put him down permanently, not like how Davina always wanted to. For better or worse, no matter how much he used him and abandoned him when he was done, Klaus was Kol's brother, and he did love him. Even Marcel loved him. They all did, and she never understood why.
She faces a similar dilemma, even now. What if she had wanted another fight? One to end things once and for all? With such a close circle of loved ones, lines would have to be drawn in the sand, and she was only truly confident about one person being on her side.
And she never, ever wanted to force them to face Freya. As much as Davina isn't afraid ( will never admit to being afraid ) of them anymore, a part of her holds a healthy wariness around them all. They are old and powerful and cruel in a way that she probably isn't hopes she isn't.
If she has to put down old grudges to keep herself, and her people safe, she will. From the surety with which Freya declared herself a protector, she would have to.
There is still one thing that bothers her. “I don't get you. Why are you so willing to throw away your life, and everyone else's, to protect them?” Even still, there's a more personal question at the forefront of her mind, and has been for a while. “Are you gonna give up your magic to be a vampire and protect them for the rest of your life?”
