The Davis'
Tumblr media
Meet Jason Davis, our founder of this...legacy? I don't know. In fact, I'm not following any legacy challenges and just made new sims; no money cheats, no freezing of motives, just playing this game how one normally would. Anyways, Jason's aspiration is Master Chef, and currently works as an Assistant Dishwasher. He lives in 2B Jasmine Suites, in the Spice Market, San Myshuno. He left his family from city outskirts as soon as he graduated high school, to chase his dream to become a five star chef in the city, which is why he chose this neighborhood to live in. Though, life in the city isn't that easy but luckily for him he landed a job in a restaurant. Though not currently a chef, he'd experiment in his work (his boss is kind enough to allow him) and at home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When at home, he tries socializing with his neighbors, as well as his fellow citizens in the Spice Market, and tries to enhance his dishes. Here, he would meet someone special, someone who would make his world more lively, and someone who supports his love in food. Someone like....
Tumblr media
...Sophia Langley. Sophia is a young lady residing in 19 Culpepper House. She moved in the brownstone apartment after leaving behind her family in Willow Creek. She romanticized city life so much that she only had 900 something simoleons when she arrived here (after paying for initial rent and buying chill pills and birth control). Anyways, she wanted to experience the city, and what it has to offer! Festivals? Yes! Food Festivals? Say less! She has the Housewife Aspiration; I forgot to tell you, but she also came here looking for love (should've went to Tartosa, haha!). She works as a mailroom technician, and she doesn't mind the pay as long as she'll find love, marry, and have her own family.
Tumblr media
I'm going to try to do normal gameplay and not just....cheat money and skills...and experiments on my sims LMAO!!! Anyways, I hope I have the patience for this, but still, we the new expansion pack coming, I can't wait to see how Jason and Sophia would be as parents!
Also I need to find another reshade preset that would be more light bc I feel like my laptop would blow up now LMAO

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Age- 34 (immortal)
Location- Skyline district, New Olympus
Personality- An enlightened individual, he's quite pragmatic, creative, and values his capacity for deep thoughts & appreciation for the arts. There's always a new question or theory on the horizon. He's single.
He has the standard abilities of a god except shapeshifting. As the god of philosophy his other powers/abilities include photokinesis & telepathy. He also has various specialized powers based on the different schools of thought and philosophy.
Favian lives in a spacious condo at The Parthenos Plaza, a luxury building in the Skyline neighborhood of New Olympus. He shares the condo & is roommates with his best friend Neicus (god of debate & appeal). The inside of the condo is exquisitely spotless and organized. The interior design is sleek & modern with colors of steel gray, royal blue, cream, and beige. They pooled their money together & was able to buy the largest (and most expensive) flat screen TV on the market- measuring at 150 inches & costing 220,000 drachmas from iCHOR Tech. The TV is made with ultra chroma technology, has 4K ultra picture quality, built in Wi-Fi, and is touch screen operated as well as bluetooth friendly. Favian has a single pet, his animal companion- a she-dragon named Dreamseer. A slender beauty, she's primarily covered in vibrant dark blue-green scales with silver crests and teal wings. She's his usual mode of transportation.
His immediate family includes his younger sister Sophia (goddess of thought). They're as close as any brother & sister, a constant thing for them getting into heated debates through text and in person, though all in good fun! Biweekly, they have a family dinner, usually at Sophia's brownstone.
A go-to drink for him is earl grey tea. He also likes dry martinis, scotch on the rocks, manhattans, white russians, pinot noir, and gin & tonics. His usuals from The Roasted Bean is an olympian sized roast coffee (with a bit of sugar) & a large chai latte.
Favian starts off his mornings at home doing a session of tobata yoga before jogging through Eaglepoint Park, ending the early hours with use of his premier gym membership at Fit 2 Be a God.
For breakfast he almost always goes for the spinach & artichoke baked egg souffle from The Bread Box.
One of his biggest vices are cigars- especially ones that are rolled with tobacco sourced from the Underworld.
In keeping with his "outworldly" way of thinking, Favian is a firm believer of traveling, being exposed to different people & cultures. He's been to most states in Olympius (including the deserted island Sicilios) and has traveled to the Underwater realm twice. He's currently planning his upcoming sabbatical to the Underworld.
A guilty pleasure for him are olympian sized cajun fries from Olympic Chef.
Favian is the latest male deity to be on a billboard in Acropolis Square modeling Thunderstruck briefs, the king's underwear brand.
For his most recent birthday, he was gifted a pair of Celestial Bronze cufflinks from his best bro!
Favian's main job is overseeing the philosophy department at New Olympus University. He personally teaches the ethics class. He's also an acclaimed writer of a few academic textbooks as well as literary works- including a popular steampunk series titled The Machinery of Alchemists. For other work & means of income he models for Platinum Alchemy, is a frequent guest co-host on the Nocturnal Thoughts podcast, and is a contributing writer for O Dianooumenos. He's also an executive producer on the goddess Litismós' upcoming social experiment TV show.
His social circle includes Momus (god of mockery, satire, & ridicule), Pathos (god of emotion), Coeus (Titan god of foresight, intellect, & knowledge); his beloved mentor, his sister's girlfriend Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature), Dimósia (goddess of debate), Agathodaemon (Daemon) (god of vineyards, grainfields, & luck), Chiron (the immortal centaur), Psionikós (god of the mind), Isorropía (Isorro) (god of duality, balance, & equilibrium), Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith), Orthosia (goddess of wealth), Aplistos (god of avarice), Aion (god of time, eternity, & the zodiacs), Moros (god of doom), Nomos (god of laws), Mnemosyne (Titan goddess of memory & language), Harpocrates (god of silence & discretion), Horkos (god of oaths), Aletheia (goddess of truth), Sophrosyne (goddess of moderation, temperance, & restraint), Apólafsi (god of enjoyment), and Achelous (god of freshwater). Favian also admires Atlas (Titan god of strength & endurance).
His favorite dessert is the tiramisu from Hollyhock's Bakery. He also likes his sister's rasmalai.
As far as his romantic life, Favian is enjoying his singledom after getting out of a long term relationship with Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon). It's been awkward still being in contact with each other seeing how Favian is a financial backer for her business. Now he's keeping romantic encounters on the casual side. Favian hooked up with a siren dancer at a burlesque show he went along with Momus & Neicus and he's had a one night stand with Amphictyonis (Amy) (goddess of diplomacy). He's currently seeing a model named Almada, who's a maenad. Favian appreciates his close bond & friendship with Dimósia. They posted videos of themselves doing viral dances on Fatestagram and has even slept over each other's places. There have been a few times where he wonders if there could be more.
His most viewed video on his PanopTube channel is his vlog at The Luxe where he partook in the most expensive tacos (along with Neicus)- a gold flake infused corn tortilla added with kobe beef, beluga caviar, black truffle brie cheese, and an exotic salsa blend made from tartarus peppers sourced from the Underworld). It cost a whopping 25,000 drachmas!
His all time favorite meal is spanokopita with his sister's chicken saagwala.

“I Sit” (A Pastoral Poem)
I sit in a Long Island Victorian mansion and cannot feel my calloused, tired, cold, unsteady hands
I sit in the twenty year old dining room chair
I sit in front of a fifty year old Americana writing desk
I sit with too many thoughts for a crabby patty
I sit with anxiety moving the keys on my laptop
I sit with patterns and mistakes
I sit with consumption that I cannot read anyones mind but my own
I sit looking outside the white four glass window seeing myself in the bare trees
I sit knowing the leaves want to present; never easy
I sit remembering how much joy instantly bring to my face when in full bloom
I sit and fantasize about the green, red, and yellows leaves and how my sadness escapes into them
I sit at this bureau to make money and work through my life; work
I sit and wish I could still hear the ocean on cool spring days like today
I sit but cannot make out the sound’s voice as my music drowns her out
I sit to think about control and power and how these are patterns and mistakes; their abuse
I sit in suburbia longing for concrete jungles
I sit in gratitude I can be a city and country mouse in brownstones & Victorian Americana mansions
I sit not knowing how my future will play out
I sit hopeful that I will get to swim in calmer waters with the Sound’s songs.

S6 Template for Where We Are Currently in the Show
Morning Everyone! So, after getting a particular Ask almost two weeks ago about shirt colors (black and white) in 6x08 and 6x09 pointing to future story arcs, I decided to re-watch the episodes and see what I came up with. This post is what came out of that. It’s a bit long, so get comfortable, but I had tons of fun rewatching these. I don’t get to do that much anymore these days.
Tumblr media
So, I looked at Carol's white shirt in these episodes, but as I watched, I kept going back to an earlier time that we'd seen Carol wearing a white shirt.
Remember, this was the episode where she went out together acorns and had to kill that really Beth-ish walker and then come back and shower and change her clothes. It's also in this episode that she takes Tobin acorn cookies. And they’re pink. (Pink Theory)
Tumblr media
So, the gist of what I'm going to say is that I think the entire season is a template for what's going happen moving forward. And honestly, we’ve seen this often enough that it's probably true of every season in some way or another. But will stick with S6 for now.
So, in thinking about Carol and Tobin 6x02, something occurred to me. I think Tobin is a prequel/foreshadow/forerunner of Ezekiel. It's actually a fairly common way to foreshadow something: have a smaller instance of it to foreshadow the bigger instance. I’ve said that with Glenn's death before. His death fakeout served many purposes, but in terms of his own arc, it was a foreshadow of his upcoming real death. In this case, they just put Carol in a short-term relationship in order to foreshadow her long-term relationship with Ezekiel.
And I bet if we studied Carzekiel as closely as we study Bethyl, we would come up with a lot of dialogue parallels and such. I don't have a whole lot of them, but I can think of one major event that was the same in both cases. ( I just had the thought that Carol showing up at Tobin's doorstep with cookies is a whole lot like Ezekiel showing up at her cabin with the pomegranate.)
Tumblr media
So, in Carol and Tobin's arc together, remember that she takes off and leaves him at the end of S6. That's when Morgan goes after her and it leads to her finding Ezekiel in the Kingdom. (Not at all an accident that she leaves Tobin and immediately runs in to her soulmate.)
I'm equating that with her leaving Ezekiel after Henry died. And Henry is the other part of the parallel. Carol left Tobin because she was dealing with Sam's death. The death of a child that she felt guilty about. She left Ezekiel for the same reason, after Henry's death. So, you can see the parallels between the two arcs. And that shows that what happened in S6 can foreshadow what's happening currently in the show between her and Ezekiel.
Tumblr media
I promise I'll stop talking about Carol and get to the more important stuff. But one more interesting thing that kinda made my jaw drop: After Creepy Wolf Dude took Denise and Morgan, Carol, Rosita, and Tara are on the brownstone together, Carol is looking out the window and Morgan walks up behind her.
He says, "you had a child? A husband?" And it's interesting because he doesn't say daughter, and Carol doesn't reference Sophia or Ed by name. And if you think about what's happened—Morgan was trying to keep her from killing Creepy Wolf Dude because "life is precious" and all that—there's really no reason for him to randomly ask about her past. But I think this shows that it's a foreshadow of what's to come. The next time around, they'll be talking about Ezekiel and Henry, rather than Ed and Sophia.
Okay, so all that was just to show that the entire season foreshadows what's to come. And when I watched 6x09, Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham on the road with the saviors, my just my mind just kept going back to the previous episode about them, which was 6x06.
Tumblr media
And we all know how much Beth symbolism was in that.
We saw Daryl meeting Dwight in the woods in 6x06 and all of the symbolism there. We already know from plenty of analyzing that Sasha and Abraham represent Beth and Daryl. I also think, in some cases, the two of them together represent Beth. But if you look at Daryl's arc in a very broad way for 6x06, we have him getting separated from Sasha and Abe (Beth) and by the end of the episode, he finds them again.
So, in terms of S6 being a template, 6x06 represents Beth and Daryl's entire separation arc. It's on a very small scale, but it kind of makes sense, doesn't it? Why the place they stayed, and Daryl later found them again had a sunrise on it. Why Sasha wrote his name with the huge X in the center. It's to show that this is a type of Beth and Daryl’s separation arc and then their reunion.
Tumblr media
Okay, so let's go back to what’s happening in S6. I'm not going to do this chronologically, but let's start with Daryl on the road meeting saviors. I want to point out one thing. The main leader of this group says something I've always zeroed in on but could never quite make fit.
At one point, he says, "ding dong, Hells bells." That's a reference to the Wizard of Oz. Because, "ding dong, the wicked witch is dead." I've always wanted to make that a Beth thing because the Wizard of Oz template was used for the Grady storyline. When I first heard it, back when this episode aired, I felt sure it was because she was with the Saviors and it was a hint toward that. Obviously not.
Tumblr media
But now I'm seeing that this is a Beth template, and that's probably why they put this here. Also notice the Saviors here are wearing black. Which could mean that they foreshadow the CRM. So, the most obvious thing I'm seeing here is that per 6x06, Beth and Daryl reunite after being separated for a long time. Then, on the road back to Alexandria, they run into the CRM (people in black). Maybe Daryl blows up the CRM in some way or kills them. And that will bring TF into a war with the helicopter group, much like it did with the Saviors.
(@frangipanilove also pointed out that there’s an AC/DC song called Hells Bells. So there’s a musical reference thrown into the mix. Which is awesome! ;D)
Okay, the next thing Nonny said is that Glenn and Enid probably represent Beth. I think that's true, but I think she's represented in a lot of different ways in this sequence. Specifically, through Sasha/Abe, Glenn/Enid, and Denise.
I won't need to go into a lot of detail about Denise. I didn’t see a whole lot more here than I’ve said in the past. I still think her being taken captive by Creepy Wolf Dude is a foreshadow of a storyline for Beth. There were two lines of dialogue that jumped out and me. When she’s in the brownstone, alone, with Creepy Wolf Dude, she tells him to "show me the wound." That SUPER jumped out at me because in 9x05 when Rick left, we heard Beth’s voice say, “what’s your wound.” Very similar.
Tumblr media
The other one was Creepy Wolf Dude explaining how he got his injury. It really wasn't a bite. He said he was breaking into a car and got cut on a rusty bumper. So, the car mention really jumped out at me. I feel like were going to see the fulfillment of this sequence with Creepy Wolf Dude and Denise for Beth sometime after she wakes up. Maybe whoever saved her after Coda gets hurt and she tends to them medically. He also talked about wanting to take over the wall with him to the outside and about how it wasn't as scary out there as she thinks it is. So yeah, it still screams Beth to me.
For Enid and Glenn, they return, and immediately run into Beth's (the blue, green, and yellow) church. And there, they find a gun. We have a combination of the weapon and the biblical symbols. Glenn even tells Enid to look inside the Bibles in case one of them is hollowed out.
Tumblr media
But the biggest thing here is that Maggie was in trouble and they came back to save her. And they sort of did, but then Glenn got in trouble and Sashraham showed up to save the day. So, we have two separate instances (Glenn/Enid and Sasha/Abraham) of Beth or Bethyl showing up in the nick of time to save everybody. I think we can all get behind that.
Also, when Maggie gets up on the scaffold, we see the red and green together. Green cord, Maggie’s red shoelaces. We’ve always seen that as a resurrection symbol, and said it probably has to do with Glenn being alive. I still think that’s true, but taken a broader context, it could also be a foreshadow of Beth's return and that this is a template for it.
Tumblr media
Okay, so let's look at this from a little bit broader view. We have five main groups that these two episodes focus on alternately. Maggie, Daryl/Sasha/Abraham, Tara/Rosita/Eugene, Carol/Morgan (by 6x09, the two of them merge with Eugene’s group) and then Rick and Michonne's group who are in Jesse's house.
(For the record, there are two other groups we see very briefly but they aren’t focused on in this episode. One is Olivia and Eric (Aaron's boyfriend) in the armory. We don't see what they're doing except that when the rest of the group runs out into the street to fight the walkers, they join in. And finally, the group that's in the infirmary before Denise gets there. This includes Aaron and Heath. Especially where Heath is concerned, I think that's super important. I’ll come back to it in a minute.)
I’ll start by talking about Morgan, Carol, Tara, Rosita, and Eugene. There’s definitely some interesting dialogue, especially from Eugene. I also think it's super important that they all seem to be wearing light-colored shirts, and that Eugene and Carol are in the same place.
Because where we are currently in the series is that Eugene and Ezekiel are the same place. Now, Ezekiel wasn’t in the show at this point, so it was impossible to have him here, but I'm wondering if at some point in the spinoff, Carol and Daryl will split up and go their separate ways and Carol will go to find Ezekiel.
(We already know there will be a falling out between Daryl and Carol in the upcoming bonus episodes and that they will go their separate ways for a time. Obviously they’ll come back together for the spinnof. But I think this separation foreshadows that in the spinoff, they’ll leave together, but at some point they’ll split up and go to separate places. We saw this with Huck and Felix in TWB, which is a template for the spinoff. And my theory is that Carol will go to find Ezekiel when that happens.)
That's really the biggest thing I think this points to. I also wonder how and if Morgan will be involved. Since he still alive, he could be. But he's also not on the show right now, so it's hard to tell. I suppose it just depends on where FTWD is at that point, and if they bring him back or cross him over into the spinoff. I think that's a real possibility.
I also want to point out the beginning of 6x08, right after the church falls, Carol trips and falls down. It turns out, she slipped on some bullets. Morgan helps her up and they run into the brownstone. It then goes on to say that she's hurt in the head and may even have a concussion.
Now, my first thought was that was super unrealistic, since all she did was trip and fall and we don’t even really see her hit her head. But she's also tricking Morgan and pretending to be more hurt than she actually is, so it may just be a ruse anyway.
Tumblr media
But the point is, between the bullets, and the mention of concussion, that's a huge Beth parallel. So, not sure if this points to Carol being part of a death fakeout, or somehow it's pointing back to Beth. If anything, I think it might point toward the Carzekiel death fakeout because it's after this that Morgan mentions you had—past tense—a son and a husband. So, if I'm right about that, we have a representation of the fake out, and then eventually Carol goes to where Eugene is. See what I mean?
Tumblr media
Oh, one more cool thing about Eugene’s group? Remember at first it was him and Tara and Rosita in the garage. Eugene had to pick the lock to get into the house. As soon as he does, they run into Denise and Creepy Wolf Dude kidnapping her. Um…Denise = Beth, so this may well be a representation of Eugene and his two friends (in S10 it’s Yumiko and Ezekiel) running into Beth. Also notice the lock/key reference that led to her. Just saying.
Okay, let's talk about Rick and Michonne’s group. In a lot of ways, this might be the biggest deal, but it's also the most fluid. I had a hard time seeing much of anything as a foreshadow from this group. At least, during the first part in Jesse's house. I mean, Rick is with Jesse, and there's drama between Ron and Carl. I've said before that a lot of their dialogue foreshadow Ron’s death for sure. But I just wasn't seeing anything very new. But I will say now that I think that this does foreshadow Carl's death as well. I get to that in a minute.
But I really started seeing some important stuff with Rick and Michonne’s group in 6x09 when they all moved out into the crowd of walkers covered in guts.
When they decide to go to the quarry instead of the armory (because they can’t get to the armory) Jesse says Judith won't make it. And Father Gabriel says he'll take Judith and protect her. I'm sure you can figure out why think that's important.
Tumblr media
1)     The Sirius character who represents Beth takes Judith with him to protect her.
2)     We have a representation of Rick and Michonne and being separated from Judith. Even if FG just represents himself in this sequence, where we are in the series now, we have Judith and FG in the same place. So again, this feels like a representation of where we are now. Rick and Michonne have left Judith in, sort of, Gabriel’s care. (I know she’s really more in Daryl’s care, but Michonne did tell her to be good for Aunt Rosita, and if Daryl doesn’t leave with Carol to get Judith in the spin-off—if it’s about Rick instead or something—I’m assuming he’ll leave the kids with Maggie and Gabriel.)
Interestingly, Rick and Michonne are still together, which they aren’t where we are now in the series, but we don't know how long it's gonna take Michonne to find Rick. She might find him quickly and the two of them will be together for significant period of time together inside the CRM. The point is, they’re in a different place than Judith.
So, the group moves on, and of course both Sam and Jesse are killed. And when Ron tries to shoot Rick, Michonne kills him and Carl is shot.
Tumblr media
This is the next significant piece. Of course we all know that Carl was shot in the eye in the comic books, so it’s something that they were always going to do in the show. But I really think this probably foreshadows Carl's death as well. Much like Glenn, his almost death here could be used as a foreshadowing for his real death down the line.
Of course, Rick picks him up and he and Michonne make their way to the infirmary. And here's what really jumped out at me about the infirmary: Heath is there.
Angela Kang has confirmed that Heath is inside the CRM. We know Rick is inside it somewhere, and that Michonne is heading to him. So, we have this interesting sequence where Michonne and Rick arrive in a new place and Heath is already there. See what I mean? So, I think we could possibly interpret this as Carl getting shot foreshadowing Carl's death, and then sometime after that, Rick and Michonne and end up at the CRM with Heath.
Tumblr media
But I can even give you third possibility here. With Carl being hurt, Rick goes into one of his losing-it trances and leaves the infirmary with his ax to fight the walkers. We hear Michonne screaming after him to wait. She waits until Denise has a good handle on Carl's condition and then she hurries after Rick to fight the walkers. I always loved this scene.
This is the only real representation I saw of Rick and Michonne being separated for a short period of time. Because he heads out without her.
So, think of it this way. He heads out into a hoard of walkers alone. And she screaming his name. Sounds a lot like what happened when he disappeared in 9x05. Meanwhile, Michonne stays behind, taking care of Rick's kids. In this case, it's Carl, but in S9, it’s Judith and RJ. Then, when she sure Carl is safe, or as safe as she can make him, she kisses him goodbye and goes after Rick. So, kind of like she left Judith and RJ behind to go look for Rick. Interestingly, who did she leave Carl with in S6? Denise. Who is a proxy of Beth.
So, I get that all of these overlap and they're very nonlinear. But I’m sure you can see what I mean about why I think all of S6 is a foreshadow of what's to come. And where we are right now in the series is at the crossroads of a lot of these possible foreshadows. Especially of Eugene finding Denise/Beth.
Tumblr media
And if we’re super literal with the interpretation, we might even say that Eugene finds Beth (Denise) in the Commonwealth, but then she leaves with someone else (whoever the equivalent of Creepy Wolf Dude will be for Beth) and then Denise goes to the infirmary, which is probably the CRM because Heath is there. And she's there when Rick and Michonne arrive.
I'm not at all set in stone about what I think will happen. I'm just saying its possibility. Beth, CRM, and Rick are things we’ve been looking at closely since Rick left in S9, so this is super-interesting.
Kind of a footnote, but when Denise is still with Creepy Wolf Dude, Carol shoots him. I'm not really sure how to interpret that. Maybe that was just for this episode and not part of the template. Because Carol was still with Eugene's group, but she went outside, saw Denise and Creepy Wolf Dude, and shot him so Denise could get away. So, no idea how to interpret that for future storyline, but it's kind of interesting. Carol being at all involved could possibly be traced back to the fact that she and Beth were at Grady together. Also makes me wonder if maybe at some point in TWB, Huck will shoot someone to save Will, Felix's boyfriend. Just because of the parallels.
And finally, I feel like Rick and Michonne going outside and leading the charge against all the walkers is something that has been foreshadowed many times. Remember that when I talked about 7x08, I said that Rick and Michonne coming to hilltop represented them returning after the CRM to Alexandria to lead the war? I saw this same thing foreshadowed in 8x09 when they return to Alexandria and find out Carl’s been bitten.
Tumblr media
In this case, they fight walkers rather than people (the CRM) so I don't know if that translates to the same thing, but the two of them being out there make other people want to join the fight. People come out of their respective hiding places and all of them fight the walkers together. And obviously, in the war against the CRM, everyone's going to have to work together.
I even wondered if these different little groups could represent different factions (Alexandria, Hilltop, the Kingdom, but also the people from Fear, the people from TWB, and anyone Beth might bring with her.) But I couldn't pin down who would be who. For example, if Carol, Eugene etc. represent the Commonwealth, that could be one group who comes out to help. Father Gabriel and the people who were in the church coming out to help could represent the people at Alexandria etc. You get the idea.
Tumblr media
And of course while all this is going on, we had the super interesting symbolism of Daryl, driving the Paddy truck (Beth symbol), picking up several people which include Glenn, Enid, Sasha, Abraham (all Beth proxies) using gasoline (Beth symbol) and fire (Beth symbol) to set a body of water (Beth symbol) on fire (Bethyl symbol).
Tumblr media
And it really goes along well with everything we've always said. I definitely think that the entire group is going to be fighting a big war and Beth isn’t by far going to be the only component. But something about her or maybe her and Daryl together come back with a key or a weapon that will help them win the war. If Daryl hadn't started that lake on fire, the walkers might have overwhelmed them all. It simply gave them the edge they needed to keep fighting and actually win.
And of course, in the sequence we see Daryl join the fight with two knives, including Beth's.
Tumblr media
Okay, I'll stop there. Just a lot of food for thought, no?

Those Who Fall: “APTF” Story (Modern Domestic Stucky AU)
Eight:
Parking in the garage, Bucky cut the engine and climbed out. Steve started to as well, until Wanda asked, "You live here?"
Having gotten used to the brownstone, Steve almost forgot what it was like to see it for the first time. It brought Steve back to his former self who was positive that he and Bucky wouldn't be able to afford it. Or that it would be too large for just the two of them. Sure, they had fixed it up once they did purchase it, but the bones of the house had always been elegant.
"We do," Steve confirmed, climbing out and opening the passenger door for her.
With some difficulty, Wanda climbed out of the car and rubbed her small baby bump. Eyes wide as she looked over everything. The hockey sticks, the baseball and softball bats, the plethora of soccer balls and basketballs. On the walls, bikes were mounted out of the way. Up top, in the loft were kayaks and inner tubes for their camping trips at the lake. As Wanda's eyes roamed over the interior of the garage, so did Steve's; trying to see what she could be seeing.
However, all Steve could see was a home.
Bucky led them through the garage and started the tour. Pushing open the door to the right, he said, "This is the laundry room." Turning, around, Bucky pointed to the door at the end of the hall, "That's our bedroom."
Then, he started heading upstairs. Bucky first, Wanda next, and Steve last. Once at the main level, Steve noticed that the girls were absent while Luke and Ethan lounged on the sofa in their pajamas, freshly bathed and relaxing before bed.
"These are our sons." Steve gestured to the older boy on his phone, "Luke and --" he gestured to the little boy cuddling with a hand-me-down Pascal pillow from, Tangled, "-- Ethan."
Both boys turned to look at her while Bucky said, "Guys, this is Wanda."
"Hi," Ethan shyly greeted before bashfully burying his face in the stuffed chameleon's body.
"Hey," Luke gave her a nod before redirecting his attention to his phone.
Wanda cleared her throat and softly returned, "Hi."
Steve smiled. They didn't seem to hate each other, and he saw that as a success. All the while, Bucky gestured to the left, towards the front of the house, "That's the sitting room."
"There's art supplies," Steve told her, giving her a kind smile when she looked at him, "You can use anything in there. Markers, paints, beads. Anything."
Mutely, Wanda nodded and ducked her head when Steve looked at her for too long. Steve's heart broke a little more, with every movement to withdrawal into herself. They had kids like that in the past. The abused and neglected. With Sun-Hi, they had spent months trying to get her to even make eye contact with them. Now, she was a confident young woman in culinary school.  With Tommy, it had taken longer, but now he could argue without having a panic attack. Which was miles away from where he had been.
Steve could only hope that they'd be able to help Wanda, too.
As the trio made their way to the kitchen, Steve asked, "Would you like to eat first? Or you can bathe while we warm it up."
Wanda shifted uncomfortably and meekly answered, "I'd like to shower."
Steve nodded and started guiding her back through the dining room and into the living room. Rounding the grand staircase, Steve led the way. All the while, Bucky could be heard in the kitchen, preparing the soup. On the second story of the house, Tibby could be heard with Sophia.
Tibby could be heard laughing, "It must be nice being a duck."
"Quack, quack," Sophia giggled.
Rounding the banister, Steve found Tibby brushing Sophia's stringy-wet hair while the little girl pretended that her arms were duck wings. Steve couldn't help but chuckle at the sight and the joy that radiated off of them. Once Wanda was on the landing, Steve gestured towards the two who could be seen in the doorway of the girls' bedroom and said, "That's Bucky's sister, Tibby, and our daughter Sophia."
Wanda nodded in acknowledgement and Steve gestured towards the rooms closest to the stairs, "These are the boys' rooms." Walking towards the other end of the hallway, Steve passed the bathroom and said, "We like to leave the door open, so people know that it's not occupied. But we also knock whenever the door is closed, just in case. Pretty common sense stuff. There's hair-ties galore that you can use, and unopened toothbrushes in the second drawer."
Another nod and Steve led the way towards the other two bedrooms. The one that Katie shared with Holly when she was home from college, and the one with multiple beds that was currently only occupied by Sophia and her dolls.
Gesturing to the room on the right, Steve said, "You'll be staying in here."
Wanda peeked into the room and sheepishly smiled at the little girl who had stopped quacking long enough to have her black hair braided so it'd be curly, "just like Auntie Tibs'." For a moment, the two paused and smiled over at Steve and Wanda, nothing but kindness. Steve could already see the adoration filling in Sophia's eyes. Sure, she loved her brothers, but she loved having sisters, too.
"You can choose either of the other beds, just not the one with the pink floral comforter and the bumblebee pillow. That's Sophia's bed." Steve informed, crossing his arms and hugging himself instead of hugging this poor girl who needed so much love.
Thickly swallowing, Wanda darted her tongue out along her lips to wet them and answered, "The bed closest to the window, please."
For a moment, fear shot through Steve. Terrified that she'd try to make an escape and run away. Only, his imagination got the better of him as he dreaded that next time they found her on the street, she'd be dead.
Shaking the thought out of his head, he squeezed himself once before he dropped his arms and turned to look at the timid brunette. "How about you take a shower and I'll find you some clean clothes and change your sheets, so they're fresh?"
Simply, Wanda nodded and headed for the bathroom. Steve was starting downstairs as Wanda closed the door. Only, he paused when she did. Through the crack of the door, she peeked over at him and quietly said, "Thank you."
"No problem," Steve sincerely grinned.
Once the door was closed, he continued on his way. Looping around the banister at the bottom and heading straight down to the lower level of the house. Figuring that the only clothes that would comfortably fit, would be Bucky's. Immediately checking the dryer to see if there were any warm clothes in there. However, it was just the kids' laundry, so Steve headed into their bedroom and straight for their closet.
Knowing that the Father's Day sweatshirts were the softest, Steve grabbed a maroon colored one that correctly claimed, Number One Dad. Smiling down at the soft garment, he rifled through Bucky's sweat pants until he found a pair of gray joggers. After all, she was taller than him, so she definitely wouldn't fit a pair of Steve's. Plus, Bucky's were comfier.
As Steve returned to the main level, he found the boys still lounging along with the sleeping dog.  Glancing at the clock, Steve reached over the back of the couch. Smoothing down Ethan's damp hair, Steve said, "Bedtime."
"Papa," the six year old unhappily whined, burying his face further into the Pascal pillow.
"I know, bub," Steve soothed, "But it's late and you've had a long day. I've had a long day. And you don't want to be grumpy tomorrow."
Ethan huffed and dramatically slid off the sofa, disturbing Thor at their feet. Still clutching the stuffed chameleon to his slender frame. Tugging at his Mandalorian, The Child, pajamas until they were right on his body again. Then, he slumped his shoulders and started trudging up the staircase.
Shaking his head, Steve directed his attention back to Luke and told him, "I want you to go to bed in an hour."
"Got it," he grumped, stretching out on the sofa, not taking his gaze off the phone.
Recognizing that something was wrong, Steve rested his arms on the back of the couch and asked, "What's up?"
For a moment, Luke just chewed on his plump lower lip. Then, he looked up at Steve and sat up. Quietly, he huffed, "She's older than me. Which means that I'm back to sitting in the back seat. And that my movie choice will be pushed back. And… and I'll have to wait until she's done in the bathroom before I can get ready."
Sighing, Steve walked around and sat on the couch. Setting the clothes to the side, he gestured for Luke to come closer, and that was exactly what he did. The boy leaned into Steve's side and rested his head on Steve's slender shoulder. It still surprised Steve sometimes with how much he had grown in the last four years. He had a growth spurt, where his shorter, chubbier frame thinned out for the most part, which he seemed particularly thrilled about. He had armpit hair, and that, for some reason, surprised Steve because his little boy was growing up.
Smoothing Luke's slightly damp, combed out hair away from his face, Steve rested his cheek on the top of his head while he was still able to do so. Trying to comfort the teen, he said, "Just because someone new came into the family doesn't mean that you're going to be pushed to the side. It doesn't mean that we're not going to listen to you, or not care about what you have to say. And it sure as hell doesn’t mean that we're going to love you any less. You should know that by now."
Luke eased against Steve, "Thanks, pops."
"Of course," Steve assured, kissing the top of his head, "We're always going to be here for you. Always. No matter how old you are, or how far away you move -- although I would like to still be close enough to hug you, please and thank you -- you can always come to us. And when you don't remember that, we'll remind you." Then, for good measure, Steve added, "I love you, bub."
"Love you, too," Luke exhaled deeply, as though he had truly forgotten. And maybe he had. But Steve meant what he said. When Luke gave his torso a squeeze, Steve knew that he remembered again. Remembered and believed him.

Inspo song: Suburbia by Spleen United.
Obsessions: 70s rock, obscure indie bands, ABBA, Tristen, The Food Network.
Quote: “David Bowie told me to do it in a dream.”
Introduction: Ione was the result of a summer romance between an American author and a Greek history professor. It would be sixteen years before they returned to the US, ending up in a New York City brownstone. Idyllic as it all was, it was quite a different life, a long way from home for Ione who struggled. She was no stranger to traveling, and she loved New York, but it was so much bigger than Thessaloniki and then there were the people. Sure, she had her looks on her side, but er classmates weren’t thrilled to discover that Ione was quite the know-it-all who struggled to keep her mouth shut in virtually every single class. After spending most of high school as the annoying girl that everyone ignored, Ione was determined to get a fresh start in college. The main perk of having virtually no social life was that she studied hard and had her pick of colleges: journalism at NYU. It was a new world entirely, and to her surprise and delight, she fit right in. More than anything, Ione wanted to work in music journalism, so she threw herself head first into the scene. Her life was now about boys, bands, and drug-fueled parties. Upon graduation, a miracle occurred. Despite her less than perfect grades, Ione managed to charm her way into an internship at Rolling Stone because of her contacts. Sure, it wasn’t the high paying, high prestige job she’d dreamed of landing right away - but it was Rolling Stone. Ione was over the moon and determined to make it higher up. And she did, but it came at a price. In order to keep up with her work life, Ione turned to pills. Lots of them. To wake her up, to keep her going, to put her to sleep. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.
Relationships:
Tristen Carter: neighbor, bffs with benefits.
Delia Hayes: *clenches fist* what’s the dirty word for dream boat?
Kelton Tavarez: horribly failed date from shitty competing ancient culture.
Lola Brinkley: coffee donkey. ( @lilyy-james )
Alex Bautista: personal cheerleader.

Uncle Frank: Paul Bettany Movie Speaks to Every American Family
https://ift.tt/3lXt89U
Many of us have or had an Uncle Frank in our lives. Mine was my cousin Bobby, who lived with his mother (my great-aunt) in the downstairs apartment of our brownstone in Brooklyn. I lived there too for a while, on the top floor with my mom and grandparents. Bobby was a school teacher, well educated, and one of the voices of calm and reason in our otherwise highly emotional, often high-strung family.
Bobby taught me about opera and certain types of pop music whenever I used to stop by and see him as a kid, and he also introduced me to the idea of appreciating art, film, and literature. I didn’t quite realize it at the time, but Bobby certainly taught me the importance of education, culture, and, to some extent, critical thinking.
I also didn’t realize at the time that Bobby was, for lack of a better word, different. He was gay, of course, but my family–old-school Italian Catholics–didn’t speak of it. No one wondered out loud why Bobby lived at home or never got married. He was unquestionably loved, but he was always at a slight remove from the rest of the clan. And when he died at age 47 in 1995 from complications related to AIDS, no one spoke out loud about that either.
He and I were estranged for a while as adults because of reasons that had nothing to do with any of this, and I regret that we weren’t as close in later years. But seeing the movie Uncle Frank has made me think about my cousin, miss him a bit, and want to thank him for the way he patiently spent time with me and taught me things I might not have otherwise known.
That’s the best part of Uncle Frank: the relationship between the title character (Paul Bettany) and his niece Beth (Sophia Lillis, It), who has always admired her worldly uncle but has never quite understood why he moved so far away from their South Carolina family–all the way to New York City where he’s a literature professor at New York University circa 1973.
It’s only when Beth herself leaves home to attend NYU that she learns the secret he has kept from the family for years–a secret that finally comes out to his semi-estranged family when both he and Beth return home for the funeral of Frank’s father and Beth’s grandfather (Stephen Root), the person at the heart of Frank’s separation from the rest of the Bledsoes.
Six Feet Under and True Blood creator Alan Ball wrote and directed this intimate comedy/drama/road movie, in which fantastic work by Bettany, Lillis (who we believe has an Oscar in her future as her young career moves forward) and Peter Macdissi as Frank’s longtime partner Wally (Walid) make up for the pre-programmed feel of Ball’s script.
Macdissi’s compassion, along with Bettany’s dignity and humanity, add a most welcome emotional heft to the story, which does a lot more to flesh out its leads than the family to which Bettany’s Frank must reluctantly return. But even they have a hard time riding the waves of histrionics during the film’s third act, in which confession after confession is followed by hugs and forgiveness in overwrought yet still oddly rote fashion.

Ammonite Review: Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan Romance Lacks Heat
By David Crow
There are plenty of grace notes throughout the film, such as Beth’s unconditional acceptance of her uncle’s sexuality (he actually enlists a friend to pose as his Jewish girlfriend when family members come to visit New York), and Wally’s heartbreaking phone call home to his mother in Saudi Arabia, whom he can never, ever come out to. But then there are the Green Book-like episodes in which Frank, Beth, and Wally (who finds a way to hop on the trip against Frank’s wishes) avoid running into bigotry as they drive into the Deep South, which seem more like plot points that Ball felt obligated to check off on a list.
Even with its eventual descent into mawkishness, Uncle Frank is engaging enough thanks to its trio of leads, and there are enough breezily humorous and humane moments to offset the turgidly predictable plot points later on. It may not be an especially deep movie (Ball might need the larger canvas of episodic television for his best work), but its heart is always in the right place.
More importantly (at least to me), Uncle Frank brought back thoughts of my cousin, 25 years in his grave. It made me reflect on what he went through when he was a younger man, back in the 1970s and ‘80s when working-class Brooklyn was not exactly a progressive haven. It made me wonder how he navigated a society in which he probably had to conceal his own identity from not just those around him, but a family that loved him dearly–yet also quietly stopped short of fully embracing who he was.
Uncle Frank premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Nov. 25.

Despite being born into a life of luxury and privilege, Isabelle has always been held to an almost impossibly high standard by parents who were not in any way considered affectionate. Her brother, Maxwell, though her polar opposite, has always been her confidante and best friend. Attending one of the most prestigious private schools in the state, Belle was always the top of her class and built an incredibly impressive college resume. Columbia instantly took interest in her and she integrated into the Ivy League school like a fish to water. Following her passion to help people, the young woman studied forensic science while maintaining her activity in clubs and academic societies. Even graduating Summa Cum Laude, little seemed to impress her parents and the girl set her sights higher and instantly applied to medical school. Nearly to the end of this journey, she currently works as a resident to the medical examiner and has hopes to one day have his job herself.
On top of all the stresses in her life, she has gone through a relatively recent breakup with someone that she had once believed may be the love of her life. Her feelings were crushed the breakup was more than a little messy. Since then, she’s dedicated herself to work - something her friends have taken notice of and express their disapproval.

Character Intro: Sophia (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Soso by her brother & girlfriend
Age- 33 (immortal)
Location- Little Athens, New Olympus
Personality- She's intelligent, analytical, confident, & ambitious. She loves actively pursuing knowledge. She's a lesbian and is currently dating.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of thought her other powers/abilities include telepathy, thought projection, mental manipulation (manipulating the minds of others by force or will), having an eidetic memory, and intelligence reduction.
Sophia's abode is a stylish brownstone in the Little Athens neighborhood of New Olympus. The interior design strikes the perfect balance between historic charm & modern elegance. There's a rooftop terrace with a small garden, dark oak flooring, and two ornate fireplaces. The color scheme is cream, royal blue, oxblood, & chocolate brown with wood countertops in the kitchen as well as lots of linen and leather furniture. Everything is immaculately organized.
She has a single pet, her animal companion being a she-dragon named Azurine. Most of her scales and wings are a dark cobalt while her claws, crest, & belly scales are bright copper. Azurine is Sophia's primary mode of transportation.
A go-to drink for her is tumeric tea which she brews herself. She likes to add a bit of honey and lemon juice to it. She also likes cranberry juice, hibiscus tea, homemade kale smoothies, mint infused water, champagne, martinis, & pinot grigio. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is a medium iced green tea and an olympian sized mango orange splash.
Sophia always starts off her mornings with a session of acupuncture then a session with her masseuse.
Her immediate family includes her older brother Favian (god of philosophy). They have a close relationship with her bringing him meals she cooks. She secretly looks forward to their passionate conversations spanning many topics.
For breakfast her go-to is the whole wheat breakfast burrito from The Bread Box added with sliced avacado, extra spinach, and black olives. At home she'll settle for a bowl of rizogalo, a couple of lightly toasted & buttered onion bagels, or a big bowl of Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal.
The most notable feature of Sophia is her long, thick, curly, & glossy raven hair. She attributes the health of her hair to a homemade hair mask she makes (that she puts on her hair for an hour every month) made with tumeric, sweet potato, olive oil, manuka honey, mango pulp, and a few drops of the Glory's Crown healthy hair oil blend. Her other go-to product is the Hairology 2-in-1 eucalyptus & mint shampoo/conditioner.
A guilty pleasure for her the lamb gyros from Olympic Chef. She sometimes orders three or four at once!
She also loves the mandarin orange green salad (drizzled in poppy seed dressing) from The Bread Box.
Sophia' main source of income comes from being Headmistress at Polus Preparatory- a school for youngsters started by Coeus (Titan god of foresight, intellect, & knowledge). The school is in the state of Delphi, a nearly two hour ride on dragonback. She expects nothing short of excellence from her students and faculty. For other means of income she endorses/models for Threads of Wisdom (is a fan of the slingbacks and crossbody bags), Olive Visibly, & White Lily Gallery. She's also a contributing writer for O Dianooumenos.
Her favorite frozen treat is the red velvet cake ice cream waffle cone sundae from The Frozen Spoon.
Sophia's been dating her girlfriend Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature) for a few months and she really enjoys spending time with her. Their first date was an early evening stroll and picnic at Eaglepoint Park where she won Eikono over with her homemade macaroni salad. Whenever their schedules permit, they're always together. A moment of sheer bliss for Sophia is them laying in bed on a quiet lazy morning reading the paper & drinking tea.
Her mentor was Mnemosyne (Titaness of memory & language).
In the pantheon Sophia's friends with Iaso (goddess of cures & remedies), Neicus (god of debate & appeal), his sister Dimósia (goddess of debate), Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon); despite the breakup with Favian, Sophrosyne (goddess of moderation, temperance, & restraint), Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence), Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith), Nomos (god of laws), Amphictyonis (Amy) (goddess of diplomacy), and Aletheia (goddess of truth). Sophia also admires all the accomplishments of Athena (goddess of wisdom). She also respects her girlfriend's father Logos (god of stories).
As an induction gift, she recieved a pair of designer heels which had a lined paper print design (along with a pencil themed strap) from Kéfi (goddess of mirth).
Sophia prefers wearing cologne than perfume, her favorite being REIGN, the most recent one from Zeus.
Her favorite dessert is the portokalopita from Hollyhock's Bakery.
In her free time Sophia enjoys reading, writing, poker, chess, yoga, doing crossword puzzles, football (soccer), cricket, tennis, going to museums, going to the opera, and visiting art galleries.
Her favorite meal is white rice with butter chicken.
"A being is but the product of their thoughts. What one thinks, one becomes."

write a poem about what you miss most about the city
(honestly I miss sophia and david the most but here’s an attempt about what i miss about the city itself)
NYC Reprise
the city is full of old friends.
the shudder of the subway car feels like home, the choppy steps of brownstones and the gargoyles of high-arching apartment buildings lean towards the sky and I lean into them, we converse conspiratorially, I gossip with wrought iron, chatter with blinking crosswalk signals, hopscotch my way through construction zones–
i have a pack of train passes like love letters tucked into my back pocket; from the sidewalk, i breathe deeply enough to pull air from the spires of skyscrapers into my tiny lungs, I’m a game player on a gridded map and I’m winning–
i am best at being a pebble in a wave
I scowl my way through a crowd: black clothes and black expression, and inside I’m blazing with light.

Those Who Fall: “APTF” Story (Modern Domestic Stucky AU)
Three:
Giving Steve a kiss, Bucky wished, "Have a good day at work."
"You, too," Steve grinned as he gave his husband one more kiss. On Bucky's hip, Holly spoke some baby gibberish as she reached for Steve. Managing to grab a handful of his blond hair and causing him to wince. Removing her hand, he kissed her small, chubby palm and said, "And, you, Holly Eve, have a good day at Auntie Beck's daycare."
The baby smiled and leaned forward to hold onto Steve, but Bucky averted her attention to himself. As Bucky walked around the front of the minivan to his car, Steve overheard him tell Holly, "I know. I hate leaving him, too."
With a grin on his face, Steve rolled his eyes and climbed in behind the steering wheel. From the passenger seat, Luke was messing with his cellphone connected to the AUX, and Steve glanced behind him to see if the two younger kids were buckled. Only then did Steve realize that Ethan had his old, too small, glasses on. The ones with the old prescription that hardly did anything to better his sight.
Rushing back into the brownstone, Steve ran upstairs to the main level of the house. Finding the glasses on the table next to the sofa, Steve grabbed them, turned off the TV, and left once more. Breathing labored, Steve handed them to the blond little boy and gestured for him to hand over the old ones. They were still working with the six year old, and Steve couldn't blame him for clinging to familiar things.
Before he turned around, he gestured to the boy's ears and signed while he asked aloud, "Ears on?"
Reaching up to press the button on the aid behind his left ear, Ethan gave Steve a thumbs up and confirmed, "Ears on."
With a nod of finality, Steve turned around to face the front, checked that his inhaler was in the glove box, and buckled his own seatbelt. Pulling out of the garage, Steve allowed Luke to put on the music. It was some alternative number that made Steve want to take a nap. But since Sophia picked the music the day before, and Ethan the day before that, it was rightfully Luke's day. Even if it did make Steve drowsy.
Taking a drink of his coffee, Steve drove towards the high school. Occasionally glancing in the rearview mirror at the small children in the backseat, Steve was pleasantly surprised when he found them singing along to the song. So, maybe it wasn't that bad. But Steve took another drink for good measure.
Pulling up in the drop-off lane, Steve told Luke, "I love you. Have a good day at school."
"Love you, too," Luke mumbled as he stuffed his phone into his bag, and reached for the door handle.
Stopping at the curb, Steve reminded, "Call me or Dad, if you need a ride home."
Luke nodded and quickly exited the vehicle. Steve took just a moment to watch Luke slip his arms through the straps and walk up to the brick school building. Before the parents in line behind him could honk, Steve continued. Driving across town to the elementary school where Steve worked and the kids attended as students.
With it just the three of them, Steve switched over to the Disney Princess CD. Ethan yelled the lyrics to the classic Cinderella tune, A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes. Steve couldn't help but chuckle to himself about the little boy's energy. His joy was infectious, and Steve joined in.
"No matter how your heart is grieving, If you keep on believing," the three sang as Steve pulled into the parking lot, "The dream that you wish will come true!"
Parking in his usual spot, Steve cut the engine and climbed out of the van. As he walked around to the back of the vehicle, Sophia climbed out from the back. Momentarily having difficulties slinging her bright happy-go-lucky bumblebee backpack over her shoulders, Steve paused to help her. Kissing the top of her head, Steve continued his journey to the trunk.
Ethan was already back there, trying to help, and Steve loved that about the six year old. Even if it did cause his anxiety to spike with how he tried to lift the large tote bag and nearly dumped everything on the asphalt. So, while Steve appreciated the little boy's help, he also, most definitely, didn't want it.
"Thanks, bud," Steve smoothed down the boys light white-blond hair, "That was very nice of you, and I appreciate it."
Looping the straps over his shoulder, he closed the trunk door and took his children's hands in each hand. For a moment, Sophia argued, "I'm too old to hold hands. It's just the parking lot. Luke doesn't have to hold your hand."
"Well," Steve sighed leading them through the lot to the sidewalk, "When you're fifteen, you won't have to hold my hand."
Sophia sighed in annoyance. Meanwhile, Ethan smiled up at Steve and said, "I like holding your hand, papa."
"Thank you, honey, I like holding your hand, too," Steve gave his son's hand a squeeze and winked at him. Looking over at his daughter, giving her hand a squeeze, too, as he said, "I like holding your hand, too, sweetie."
Tilting her head back, she smiled up at Steve, and his heart clenched. One of Steve's favorite things in the world was when his children smiled at him. When they were happy, Steve could be happy. And while Sophia wanted more independence, Steve knew that she was a happy little girl. And that was all that mattered. Even if Steve did wish that she would stay his little girl for just a little longer. But ultimately knowing that kids grew up much too fast for his liking, and he had to be okay with that.
Reaching the school's entrance, Steve let go of their small hands and bent over to kiss them each on their forehead. For a moment, just watching them as they crossed the lawn to the playground where the kids waited to be let into the school.
Once he saw them meet up with their friends, Steve approached the door. Seeing a woman and a little girl who was a miniature version of her mother who also happened to be one of Steve's students. Being a good man, Steve held the door open for them.
"Thank you," the woman said as Steve entered the building after them.
"No problem," Steve assured, going to head off in the direction of his classroom, but paused when the woman introduced herself.
"I'm Amy."
"Steve Barnes," he greeted, shaking her hand when she offered it, "I'm Blaire's art teacher."
"You're Mr. Stevie?" Amy's eyes widened and her grin grew as she nearly squealed, "Blaire adores your class! Most days, that's all she talks about!"
"I'm glad to hear that," Steve smiled, "She's a good kid, and really talented, too."
"Oh, I bet you say that about all the students," Amy giggled; eyes roaming down Steve's petite body that hadn't really changed much since he was sixteen.
Using his go-to move, Steve used his left hand to push his stylish floppy blond hair out of his eyes. Shamelessly flashing the thin yellow gold engagement band, the wider diamond encrusted white gold wedding band, and the delicate yellow gold band with Bucky's birthstone in the center. Amy's eyes locked on the three rings stacked on Steve's left ring finger.
A blush colored her cheeks and she took Blaire's hand as she started in the opposite direction. Glancing over her shoulder, she politely added, "It was nice to meet you."
"You, too," Steve confirmed, continuing down the hallway to the art classroom. Always thankful to have Bucky as his husband, especially when students' parents or adult siblings hit on him.
Unlocking his classroom, Steve flipped the lights on. Taking in a calming breath, Steve headed for his desk to set down his bag. Then, he walked around the room to take the tiny child-size chairs off the tables and putting them on the ground, pushing them out of the way and beneath the table.
Soon enough, the cacophony of children filled the hallway and flowed right to Steve. Calmly, he set fresh sheets of card stock at each seat, along with individual assorted watercolor paint sets. His first class of the day would be joining him soon, and he couldn't wait. Even after being a teacher for nine years, Steve still enjoyed what he did. And he considered himself to be the luckiest guy in the world.

The ten shows opening on Broadway in April include six plays and four musicals. Several are familiar titles presented in unfamiliar ways: Glenda Jackson as King Lear; an avant-garde, diverse Oklahoma; two much-anticipated movie adaptations — Tootsie and Beetlejuice. But the show that garnered the most votes in a Broadway Spring poll  is Hadestown, which marks the Broadway debut of Anaïs Mitchell, who created it first as a concept album by Anais Mitchell and took fire Off-Broadway. Another artist making his Broadway debut is downtown darling and MacArthur “Genius” Taylor Mac, who has written Gary, a startling comedy billed as a sequel to Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy.
Star power is lighting up the Great White Way: Broadway favorites like Nathan Lane, John Lithgow and Laurie Metcalf, screen stars Annette Bening and Adam Driver, British theater royalty like Glenda Jackson and Jonny Lee Miller. And let’s not forget the playwrights, directors and composers, some of whom are better known than any performer. Like Shakespeare.

But even in a month when so many shows crowd the calendar to open by the deadline for Tony Awards eligibility, there is exciting theater opening outside Broadway as well — some of it way outside. Ars Nova launches its new programming at Greenwich House Theater with a new devised work by the Mad Ones.  Ivo van Hove directs an opera at BAM. There is innovative immersive theater in a downtown park (for free!) and in a Chelsea brownstone.
Below is a selective list of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and other New York theater offerings opening in March, 2019, organized chronologically by opening date, with each title linked to a relevant website. Color key of theaters: Broadway: Red. Off Broadway: Black, Blue, or Purple. Off Off Broadway: Green. Theater festival: Orange. Puppetry: Brown. Immersive: Magenta.
