My evolution and character development as a gamer really shows when today I can just go "I've already beaten the flagship monsters in the 3* village quests in previous playthroughs, I don't need to do that again for validation" 😔👏 younger Gui would not let that shit fly and would spend days trying if necessary
#gui plays mhgu#if you don't know the game#basically 4 bosses from later in the game show up as obstacles in early game quests#and you can techinically beat them#but the game just expects you to complete the quests and ignore/flee them#and you don't even get any special dialogue or rewards for beating them#so it's kinda of a waste of time#i did it before and it's super frustrating since you can't really fight them properly with cutting weapons because the early game ones#simply aren't sharp enough to deal enough damage and/or not have your attacks bounce off from their tougher hide#it's easier to do with a ranged weapon or a blunt one#but it's also easier to just ignore them and fight the fuckers when you're at the appropriate level of progress lol

#insane he ended up being so happy go lucky in canon#like in the art book they talk about the character shift dewey had once ben auditioned#and he made them realize they could take a more comedic approach with him#but initially dewey’s character seemed very negative and irritable#they had the label ‘the bad boy’ of the 3 on him for a bit too#bc of the massive chip on his shoulder and how unsatisfied he was at the time#and tbh you can see bits of that in the pilot#dewey’s character and overall demeanor is very different in the first two eps of s1#i LOVE my boy as the brighy imulsive ball of sunshine and danger that he is#but this original pitch of him intrigues me a lot#like i can talk about pitch!dewey for hours bc#kinda feels like wasted potential idk LMAO#bc he didn’t entirely disappear at least in s1 so#just a lot of dewey thoughts#bc that’s my boy🫶#ducktales#ducktales 2017#dewey duck

Kaeya had always been an efficient and hard-working individual (he had to be to support Diluc in the background as his brother rose thru the ranks after all).
He has so much free time because he completes all his work way ahead of schedule. And if he still has enough time, he adds more to the workload in secret.
And once all of that was done and over with, he makes time for everyone. He has to. He feels as if every moment has to be given to someone else.
No one knows how he does it. No one has to know.
Every mission has a dozen strategies in line, and every battle plan is made with efficiency in mind. His perfect record will not be tarnished. He can't risk it (even if it baffles others that he would willingly activate a ruin guard just to prevent a failed mission. Jean disagrees with his methods, but Kaeya can say that the results say otherwise)
He needs to be quick.
Efficient.
Perfect.
And so he comes and goes like the wind.
Kaeya values time because he knew every second counted. He can't just stand there as if he were frozen. Time could run out in an instant.
Kaeya had only been late once his entire life.
He'd rather he never be late ever again.
It took one day of being of being imperfect for everything to fall apart. On that tragic day...had he gotten there on time... then maybe...

" Come on, let's get moving, traveler. We're not frozen in place after all. " Kaeya teasingly says. He stiffles a giggle at the traveler's exhasperated sigh.
"Yeah yeah, we've heard enough of you calling us a slacker. Can't you be a bit more patient?" Paimon whines at him.
Kaeya snorts, but acquiesces, hiding the shaking of his hands at the thought of being idle.
He imagines hearing a clock ticking.
Kaeya knows that that is his own problem. He tries his hardest to relax as he waits for the traveler to finish whatever they're making on the alchemy table because, seriously, it is supposed to be a relaxing day. There's nothing major going on, and his schedule is once again empty as intended. What's the hurry?
Kaeya taps his foot on the ground as he waits. He wishes he could take his own damn advice when he tells others to relax.

I know it's a story, oh I know it's just a story. But why does it feel like my worst nightmare?
My Explorers of Sky Hero, Echo!
Lately I've been writing a study on her and this paragraph is taken from my rough rough draft. It's a more in-depth exploration of her character/origin/experiences and since I am a huge fan of the darkrai reincarnation theory, this is my personal take on the concept.
I think it's a bit poetic that Echo, in the aftermath of everything, winds up as a dark-type again (and one connected to the moon no less, the irony) as well. I mean, her timeline of lives has literally been this:
Darkrai (New Moon/Pitch Black) -> Human -> Eevee (Evolution) -> Umbreon (Moonlight)
A lot of her evolution into umbreon has to do with her personal trauma/amnesia and also significant influence from dusknoir (who she trusted and cared about), but deep down I feel like her evolution was also partially determined by the fragmented remnants of her original self. She even tried to evolve into leafeon, which obviously, did not work out as planned. Perhaps this is her past lives way of manifesting in her current self, though she is no longer the same pokemon anymore. Maybe it has something to do with self-forgiveness or acceptance? She still has a lot of healing to do, though.
Once evolving into a dark type, Echo slowly starts to regain some of her memories from her time as Darkrai. And Team Wish's new friendship with Cresselia, who is more perceptive than she has any right to be, gives Echo a lot of insight into exactly who she is. This spirals into Echo battling the reality of her past actions alone for a long time because how is she supposed to admit the truth to Sora? That she was the direct cause of their shared suffering? That she and darkrai are one and the same? That all of the pokemon of the future lived in an eternity of hell because she desired it? Of course, she keeps quiet for a long time out of pure fear-- because if Sora rejected her, she'd fall apart. It's a lot to keep secret but what else can she do?
And bonus!! Does Echo's shadow change during each night of the new moon? Hmm. Sure does seem like it.

#ssoblr#star stable#This has been such a long time coming#I had the idea around the time we got the new character models and tried with those first#but the old unrealistic proportions with the high waisted bottoms and really cropped tops just fit so much better#So I decided to “just” do it in Blender#As you can see I managed to get the basics to work#but I didn't have access to SSO's rigs#so I wasn't able to pose them at all and they're stuck in these awkward t-poses#But I had too much fun and put in too much blood sweat and tears to not share them anyway#it was really fun getting to mix the old and new models#for example with the hair styles#so I was able to choose the best of both worlds#i kinda gave up on the old models and blender half way through and settled on just doing it in game with the new models#i also didnt wanna let the beautiful butterfly decorations of the temporary race go to waste#but that reignited my obsession and i finished the blender project too#or at least as finished as i managed to get it#hope you like it!#star stable online#sso#starstable#winx#winx club

So I rewatched the entire series last night and I wanted to say that another reason the Topmew x Boeing situation in episode ten feels so silly, is because it didn’t make any sense for them. Boeing was definitely brought in as an external force to test the bounds of each relationship (they didn’t do this justice but that’s a topic for another time), however Topmew’s entire separation was caused by external interference. Their entire relationship they had people whispering in their ears about each other, which ultimately lead to their spilt.
When they separated, this was the perfect time for them to show them growing and dealing with their own internal struggles. Now we got that from both (even though we didn’t get to see Top’s) but I wish we spent more time with them alone and not with Top chasing Mew. I don’t mind what they did but it would’ve been better if they had shown us Top working it out and grieving, instead of constantly showing him being shitted on.
The reason I wanted so badly for Boeing to be Top’s friend, is because it would’ve highlighted even more growth from Top. It would’ve shown us that he has been confiding in a close friend and that he hasn’t just been spending time planning ways to get Mew back. Boeing also would’ve made a for a good device to explore their internal struggles in the relationship, and while he did do that, we ended up reverting back to old ways. This was an opportunity for Mew to bring up his insecurities and Top to reassure him, as well as have Boeing there to act as an objective voice. Unfortunately we got some weird recycled revenge plot instead.
Boeing works as a good external force but only towards couples who haven’t had their relationship tested externally; that’s not Topmew. Boeing will work to test Sandray because their relationship struggles have mostly been internal. Hell, I don’t even think he’ll work by way of testing Nickboston because there’s really nothing to test? So he’s kinda just hanging around everyone with no true motivation at this point.
Anyway, Boeing would’ve worked well if they didn’t use him to bring Topmew back to square one while simultaneously having him play the grim reaper knocking at everyone’s door.
