Compared to other mk villains/antagonists.
I'd rather take shang tsung. Because at least I'd be treated well first. At least i would be on a beautiful island. At least he'd wine n dine me first.
Compared to the other bad boi(tm) in mk.
Shang tsung is generous af.
Sure he could rip out your soul like i rip apart a fruit roll up.
But at least it would be put to use.
But also maybe not,maybe he won't rip out your soul. Maybe he wants your company.
Who knows with shang. And thats why we love him.
Chaotic foxy grandpa whos morally grey standards benift people who also in turn benift him. And everyone hates it. But i love it.
Local dark sorcerer charms me into being his wife while he tries to gain ultimate power but somehow is shoved into forced retirement by asshole gods.
Like fr I'd take shang tsung over any of the other bad guys.
Because shang tsung is a good time. The others are just suffering and not nearly as interesting to me.
Plus having a husband that can do what he do must have a lot of benefits. Just sayin.

Rykard facecast
So over the course of writing Prince of Death, I think that Rykard has become, as they say, a blorbo. And I was thinking about who I would cast as Rykard in the theoretical Netflix adaptation of Prince of Death.
Then I remembered that I used to watch Once Upon a Time.
You'd have to put him in some pretty tall shoes, but I think Robert Carlyle would absolutely kill as pre-snek Rykard.

Right, prompts were Superstition and Police Force. Gotta have Johnny when it's about the police force lmao.
You can tell I lost motivation here, I finished this like an hour and a half after midnight of Oct. 3-
So little lore on Rasi rq, as a replacement for art quality from me, lmao. They're non binary cause idk what they really wanna be yet, they're a lil skrunkly, a lil scrimblo, bean, chaotic gremlin, etc. They got banished from the physical realm, spirit tied to an acorn that grew around a dragon graveyard kinda. Fun fact, they built their own new physical form with a dragon skull, wood, nearby animal fur (maybe like a panther? Still figuring out their backstory lmao) and other things I've yet to figure out to create a raptor-like appearance. Another fun fact, they literally fall apart. Useful for escaping cages in Murder Drones. *Cough* Magnets *Cough* wHaT-?

There were a couple of other suggestions by another anon (so maybe a playlist in the making?), but this song does really make it easy to picture Revchi walking down the streets of the Royal Capitol, while knowing that there are "sinners" or corrupt knights in his own squad. But, they all, including him, must "be good for something". Even if that would be to be expendable, used as a scapegoat, or something of the sorts.
(Also, I don't know if you noticed but someone really liked you anemia headcanon for Revchi in a reblog of the post ^^)

What Should I Post Next?
So I have multiple ideas buttttttt I am indecisive. These are Good Omens related because hyperfixation I don't make the rules
Flashback Inspired Oneshot is Wild West inspired and will feature a femme-presenting Crowley, sneks, cowboy shenanigans, Aziraphale thinking they've got another quirky talent (they're not actually very good at it, hilarity ensues) and every bit of crackness you'd expect from those two being plunked into the Wild West.
Long form fic features lots of queerness, a plot-relevant OC that has just been a blorbo for years since I watched season one (but like fits into the ensemble scheme of things, it's not an OC-centric piece necessarily), and a shit ton of much-needed character development (looks at Aziraphale). I've already written like six chapters of it but I'm hoarding it rn-
Both are fun! I just don't know which to post first lmao.

Then again what is friendship about if not exchanging potential blackmail material and trusting the other person won't actually use it against you... Speaking of which, you seriously don't need to worry about me judging your Taylor Swift phase for I myself am not without sin! In fact...
2. Most embarrassing music phase?
Avert your eyes, for my shame is too great. I used to be....a 1D girl. From maybe 2013-2016 so I can't even say it was a short lived psychotic breakdown or a ghost possession (wanted to say demon at first but we both know demons have much higher standards). It's one of my deepest personality flaws and red flags. Laying my soul bare here.
4. What song from your childhood do you still like?
This is a tricky one! I actually love many of the songs my dad used to play when I was a kid, it's mostly Karel Kryl and similar folk singers. One that stands out would be Král a klaun, in case you wanna check it out. Also another childhood obsession of mine was the musical adaptation of the story of Joan of Arc, I know all the lyrics to all the songs to this day. But since these answers don't really make sense to anyone outside of my linguistic and cultural background, if we were talking solely about English songs I'd probably say Love Is Strange (Mickey and Sylvia) cause I remember being obsessed with it after watching Dirty Dancing for the first time and I still think it's an absolute banger. (fun fact as a treat: I was definitely way too young to watch that movie and after seeing those grinding dance scenes I honestly believed for years that's how babies are made)
7. Top 3 songs to sing in your car to?
When driving alone I mostly tend to belt musical showtunes or whatever blorbo-adjacent song is currently plaguing me :'DD. I somehow always end up with M.I.A. (Starkid - Black Friday) since that's the only song I ever recorded semi-professionally and I've been chasing that high ever since (alas with no backtrack and autotune it's usually a rather humbling experience lol). At this moment my other two go-to songs would be Old Fashioned Lover Boy (Queen) and From Eden (Hozier). None of that has of course anything to do with a certain redheaded snek. Not at all. I am being so normal about him.

RYKARD MY SNEK BOY.
Rykard is one of those fun characters who has more of a telling absence than a presence. Why was he an inquisitor, and for whom? Leyndell? Morgott?
He's a demigod, a child of a truly terrible family. He's awful himself, both as inquisitor and as Lord of Blasphemy. He's an advanced sorcerer, even inventing the entire branch of magma sorceries. And then he uses that magical power to ... feed himself to a snake and partially take over its body??
Seriously, Rykard. WTF. The snake cult wasn't bothering anyone before you showed up and made it weird. </3
His dynamic with Tanith, what little we see of it, is great. She scratches several of my favorite narrative tropes, but so does he, so he gets to be almost a blorbo in his own right. The implication that he may have taken the fall on purpose is just great, as is the fact that he's still terrible, just in another direction.
He has done everything wrong ever (except what he was infamously accused of; that was his sister) and I like him all the more for it. <3
